- 2. myBlueprint can help you learn more about skills and careers available in your SHSM sector SHSM Reach Ahead Experience 1. Visit www.myBlueprint.ca/wrdsb 2. Click School Account Log In 3. You will use your PAL to log in
- 3. Explore Occupations that connect to your SHSM program 1. On the left side menu, click Work > then Occupations 2. Search your SHSM program in the keywords search bar 3. Scroll through the occupation list and click on ones that are interesting to you 4. Pick 3-5 occupations to review more deeply SHSM Reach Ahead Experience
- 4. Review each of the 3-5 Occupations that you selected • Review all the content for each occupation: Overview, Outlook, Requirements, Do I Match? • Click Do I Match? and complete the Compatibility Surveys • Add the occupation to your portfolio and reflect on what you need to do to get into that job. (see next slides for how to make a Portfolio in myBlueprint) • Reflect on the skills and experience you have already developed that will support you in this career field SHSM Reach Ahead Experience
- 5. At any time, you can create multiple portfolios, and can choose what elements you want your portfolio. To begin, select Portfolios or click on the Portfolios in the Home section in the navigation Menu. SHSM Reach Ahead Experience

- 7. To add a box (artifact) to a portfolio, click on + Add Box and select one of the four options: Media, Journal, from myBlueprint or from Class Pass. Most of your entries will be from myBlueprint, but you can also add other items that you think fit. SHSM Reach Ahead Experience
- 8. SHSM Reach Ahead Experience •Media: You may upload pictures, videos, audio recordings, and documents from your device, Google Drive, Facebook or Instagram. Students can also add a website link (URL) to your portfolio. Journal: Enter a journal entry explaining your experiences. Bonus: attach media to your journal entry. Add from myBlueprint: Choose the activities from myBlueprint (i.e. survey results , occupations) that connect to your SHSM program. At any time, you can add multiple date-stamped reflections to existing artifacts. To add a reflection, click on the Add Reflection button at the bottom right of the artifact you added to your portfolio.
- 9. You can share your portfolio by clicking on the Share button at the top right-hand corner, then Generate Link. This link will allow anyone to interactively view your portfolio without creating a myBlueprint account. SHSM Reach Ahead Experience IMPORTANT! Once you are ready to share your Reach Ahead Experience Portfolio, generate a link, copy it, and return to your SHSM Student Hub to paste the link into the Reach Ahead Experience Portfolio Assignment folder.
