4.0 Advantages and Disadvantages of Homeopathy and Western Medicine
Both Western medicine and homoeopathy have their own advantages that separates them from
each other. The drugs used by western medicine doctors make it difficult for the disease to spread
and is a faster way of curing the patient (Mind Body Green, 2017). Western medicinehas a higher
efficacy compared to homoeopathy, where more than half of the chronic and acute problems are
cured successfully (Butter Nutrition, 2017). Furthermore, it is developed from clinical trials,
hence it is evidence based medicine and reliable for patient treatment. The training received by
professionals is also at a higher standard, reducing the risk of accidents or complications
(Australian Medical Association, 2017). On the other hand, homoeopathy can minimize side effects
and, it is gentle and safer for long term use since there are fewer side effects due to the remedies
being natural. Homeopathy actually builds a person s immune system and makes that person highly
resistant to many diseases (deliciousliving, 2017). It could be an alternative if mainstream medicine
fails to treat an illness where, the treatments are cheap and easy to dispense. This is why
homoeopathy is famous in developing countries and rural areas of Australia (The Australian Rural
Doctor, 2017).
However, both methods of treatments also come with disadvantages. In western medicine drugs are
used and the treatments are made out of chemicals that can be harmful

Avoiding the Possessive Shadow of Society
Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote, It is easy in the world to live after the world s opinion; it is
easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd
keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude. (Emerson 1) Being one s self in
today s society is increasingly difficult every year and can have a major effect on the mental
state of teenagers. It is easy to follow the pack, but then one is just a faceless person marching in
with the crowd with no true purpose; true strength is in those who try to be themselves in the face
of society. Many teens struggle with their identities and can turn to self harm or even suicide to
relieve their pain, yet not enough effort goes into trying to help these struggling teens. In fact in a
recent study done for Curing the illness: suicide prevention , professor John Wensly states that
Suicide rates are increasing alarmingly. Every year we see a ten percent increase in suicide
attempts alone. (Wensly 23) In his book Into the Wild, Jon Krakauer writes about Christopher
McCandless, who did anything but live in society s large and possessive shadow. Chris broke free
from society s chains and lived his life with adventure despite the numerous people telling him to
stop. Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer focuses on Christopher McCandless and his mysterious
decision to live on the road.

The Short Story Orientation by Daniel Oroczo
Daniel Oroczo is a short story writer who wrote the short story Orientation which got him many
awards and just as many appeases from the writing community. Where he since then has gone on
to do bigger and better things with his career and starting off fame. Daniel has now a job in the
department of English in the University of Idaho and hints at a novel that he is currently working
on since the success from his short storywriting.
The history of Daniel starts in 1957, born from Nicaraguan immigrants who worked union jobs
at Bay Area candy factories , not much of his past could not be found or much of anything about
the guy. Daniel grew up in Daly City, California and went to school in Stanford his schooling
included pre med, math, psychology, and film and broadcast communication, he worked
throughout his younger years as an office assistant around the bay for San Francisco. This is
where he worked up until his thirty s also while working there he got inspiration and motivation
to write and this is where his famous short story called Orientation came in to light for him.
While working on the story he got most of his inspiration for the story from orientation manuals
and from instruction videos given out from big corporation for people to watch and get the feel
for how the work place in this office flows and feels for any given person. This short story has
given Daniel recognition and awards regarding his work as an author such rewards as the William
Saroyan

Comparing Two And The Love Of My Life
Eerie, emotional pain, an unbearable sadness. These are feelings being felt nationally on
February 13, or National Breakup Day. The love two people once shared turns into a sudden loss.
How a person recovers from a loss is truly up to him or her and his or her mindset. In the novel, Two
by Two by Nicholas Sparks, and the short story, The Loveof My Life by T. Coraghessan Boyle, the

In his newest novel Two by Two that centralizes around conflicting romances, Sparks uses the
power that only love can achieve, to resolves conflicts and live happily ever after (Baron). The
novel is about Russell Green, a young, married man who is well off and living a luxurious life
with his beautiful wife Vivian. The two live lavishly and suddenly decide to have a baby.
Russell makes it clear to Vivian that they need to cut spending a bit to save up and provide their
child with the best life possible. This creates arguments between the two and Vivian distances
herself from Russell. She soon leaves Russell to start a high end job in a different state. At this
point, Russell is trying to create his own successful insurance firm while adjusting to his new
life as a single father. He realizes that his daughter, London, is just as much his world as he is her
world (Ray). He becomes a successful insurer and he and London live happily together: however,
Russell is still haunted by how quickly Vivian left him and hopes London will never do that same.
Russell s love turned loss still keeps him asking questions that may never be answered, but at the
same token, he is happy with his life after Vivian

Ath then told me more about his key foods that he usually ate. He says that chok (rice) is the staple
food for his people in Thailand. There are two types of rice, which includes white rice or khao niao
(known as sticky rice). Khao Niao is typically rolled into a ball. He says rice is eaten with everyday
dishes such as phat thai (pad thai noodles), khao phat (Thai fried rice), som tom Thai (Thai papaya
salad), kaeng som (hot and sour thai soup/curry) and basically anything that is served at the dinner
table. Most main dishes are made with pork, beef, chicken, and/or seafood. Soups are commonly
eaten with most meals since it helps him balance the hot flavors of many Thai dishes.

College Dorm Life
When considering about college, the first thing came to mind is life in a dormitory. I have heard
horror stories about living in dorms which made me anxious about my upcoming dorm life. What
would life be when living away from parents? What adjustments would require making from home
to dorm life? How would the balance of time when managing myself? New problems from dorm
ate and neighbors? What is it like to shower in a co ed bathroom? Countless questions have popped
in mind before I stepped in college. However, recalling from this one month of college life, I have
noticed some significant changes as I move out from the roof of parents and into a dorm room.
The Joe West Hall is one of the residential halls at San Jose State University which hosts
approximate 600 freshmen. It is considering the worst building here at SJSU since it is the only
building that without air condition. I have chosen to live in a double occupancy room in Joe
West under the choices of single, double and triple. When I first entered in my dorm, the
spacing is as small as I thought it would be before. Our dorm room is furnished with two twin
beds, desks, chairs, dressers, and closets. It is just a single small room which could fairly use by

Nuclear power plants have been around for many years. The first nuclear power plant was built in
1954. The controversy over them is whether they are harmful or beneficial to the environment and
to humans. We as humans tend use a lot of energy. Nuclear power plants are so called a strong
candidate for supplying our energy. There are many harmful remarks on nuclear powerplants, and
today I am here to talk about why they should be potentially reduced if not banned. For starters it
can lead to cancer for children young of age, it can be used a weapon for destroying or targeting
