Drought In The Mississippi River Delta Wetlands
Wetlands are extremely valuable to society. Wetlands can decrease flooding, remove pollutants from
water, recharge groundwater, protect shorelines, provide habitat for wildlife, and serve important
recreational and cultural functions. The Mississippi River Delta ecosystems alone provide at least $12
47 billion in benefits to people every year. If wetlands are lost, the cost of replacing them can be
extremely expensive, if at all possible. Lost wetlands can result in a city having to invest more money
in drinking water treatment or higher costs to citizens for flood insurance. Wetlands act as natural
sponges that trap and slowly release surface water over time. This ability to store water in times of
heavy rainfall means that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of Developing An Autonomous Car
Google as one of the leading tech companies in the world always tries to come out with new ideas.
Their recent project is developing an autonomous car. Autonomous car is a car that can drive by itself
without any assistance, using technologies, such as sensors, camera, radar, and GPS. According to
Google, deaths from traffic accidents are over 1.2 million worldwide every year and 94% of them are
caused by human error. From this fact, they decided to create an autonomous car that is more practical
and safer. Even though it seems like a promising idea, they are currently facing some legal barriers.
For instance, California rules prohibit the use of an autonomous car that does not have a steering
wheel or a brake pedal. A licensed operator must

Western Blottography Lab Report
Western Blotting is used to Identify a Subunit of Myosin
Light Chain in the Proteins of All the Different Fish.
Chae Yee
Kent State University:
BSCI 30140 Lab
Abstract Western Blotting can be used to detect the Myosin actin light chain in different species of fish
and is used to distinguish from different species based on variation, commonality, or evolutionary
divergence. First, proteins are extracted from the tissue and loaded into a gel matrix. The matrix will
separate the proteins according to size using an electric current. Proteins that are separated after are
blotted from the gel and onto a paper membrane. An antibody is then added to the membrane paper
and causes a colored reaction. Following the reaction, the results ... Show more content on

Following that, a blotting sandwich is made by adding blotting buffer to the container and inserting
the plastic cassette. Lay a wet fiber pad on the black side of the cassette. On top of that lay a wet
blotting paper on the fiber pad and then roll a pen lightly across to get the air bubbles out. Place the
gel on top of the previous layer and then lay a wet nitrocellulose membrane on the gel. Another wet
blotting paper and fiber pad are placed on top of the gel. Once this is complete, close the cassette and
set up the Mini Trans Blot module. Fill with blotting buffer up to the top and then blot for 2.5 hours at
20V. The last part of this procedure, antibodies will be used to detect one specific protein from others
on the membrane. Incubate the membrane with 10 ml of primary antibody for 10 20 minutes and then
place on a rocking platform. Rinse the membrane quickly after with wash buffer on a rocking
platform. After three minutes is up, discard the wash and incubate the membrane with 10 ml of
secondary antibody for 5 15 minutes on the platform. Rinse the membrane again shortly after and
wash the membrane for three minutes. Next, discard the wash and add 10 mL of HRP color detection
reagent. Incubation will occur after this for 10 30 minutes. Once it is done, rinse the membrane twice
with distilled water and blot dry. Results According to Figure 1, all of the protein bands of the

Evaluation Of A Report On The Audit
Methodology
The audit will be conducted on an approximate 4 wards, these wards comprise the individuals most
likely to be high risk and in need of a red tray , such wards include:
1. Stroke ward
2. Elderly ward
3. Rehabilitation ward
4. Paediatric ward
The data for the audit will be collected from patients and ward/nursing staff in these wards. The data
will be collected from 95% of the patients in each ward and 95% of ward staff in each ward. The data
will be collected via 3 different sources:
1. 95% of the patients in the 4 selected wards will be distributed a qualitative questionnaire to identify
patient views on the RTS, to see if the RTS is being properly implemented (See appendix C). The data
will be collected by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the audit tools are reliable and can be easily repeated by others.
The observations of mealtimes (See appendix E) will be analysed by distributing the collected data on
a bar chart; where the data can be interpreted more efficiently by displaying the total numbers of
patients who require assistance, receive assistance and receive red trays across all the observations for
breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The analysis of the patients questionnaire may be time consuming, as it s in paper format meaning that
the questions and respondent data will have to be manually transferred into spreadsheet software, with
each question assigned a column, and row for each person s answer, with each answer being assigned
a code . Once all the data from each questionnaire has been entered in the spreadsheet; it should be
checked for accuracy. The data can then be transferred to a bar chart, to display the data, for simple
analysis.
The ward staff questionnaire (See Appendix D) is quantitative and can be analysed by reading the
questionnaires, putting them into categories and assigning codes . Though, this is a time consuming
method and highly subjective with the questionnaires having an increased risk of being interpreted
incorrectly.
Ethics Confidentiality
One major ethical concern is to make sure informed consent is given by the patients to allow for (1)
the conduction of observations on them during mealtimes and (2) their participation in questionnaires.

The Rise of Domestic Terrorism in the United States
When discussing terrorism, the groups which most frequently come to mind are those which operate
either internationally or specifically in foreign countries, such as al Qaeda, Hezbollah, Al Shabab.
However, the United States has a number of domestic terror groups some well organized, some
loosely connected that have perpetrated serious attacks over the last few decades. Al Qaeda s attacks
on September 11th, 2001, and the subsequent wars born out of the United States response to these
attacks have meant that domestic terrorism is less widely discussed topic, this does not mean that
domestic terrorist groups do not present a serious threat to the United States and its citizens. By
examining known terrorist organizations within the United States and their classifications, it will be
possible to demonstrate how and why the country has seen a rise in domestic terror over the last three
decades, as well as some possible government responses to these groups that could help to prevent
individuals from joining in the first place. Before examining contemporary domestic terror groups in
greater detail, it will be useful to briefly discuss some of the notable terror groups throughout the
country s history. Arguably the most famous of the United States domestic terror groups is the Klu
Klux Klan, which assaulted and murdered a number of individuals over the course of the nineteenth
and twentieth centuries. The Klan was born out of a racist ideology that views people of color as

The Theme Of Dystopia In Steelheart, By Brandon Sanderson
The book Steelheart, by Brandon Sanderson, begins the story with a prologue, to provide the reader
some backstory before delving into the main story. The prologue did an excellent job bringing my
attention when I read the words I ve seen Steelheart bleed (Sanderson, 7). The prologue from David s
point of view, had plenty of detail around the bank scene, making it seem like I can visualize the entire
bank. The detail given throughout the prologue gives a realistic feel to it. When they introduced
Steelheart (the main antagonist) in the prologue, I felt suddenly intimidated. The way David describes
Steelheart makes me feel like David is describing an all powerful god. David s father dies by the
hands of Steelheart since he made ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He used it as a convincing point to allow him to join the Reckoners. David, then went to his apartment
to retrieve his ten years worth of notes. Dozens of folders, filled with clippings from newspapers or
scraps of information. Eight notebooks filled with my thoughts and findings. A larger notebook with
my indexes. (Sanderson, 57). It was astonishing to see how many notes David had written about
Epics. This quote showed me the amount of difficult work and dedication David put into researching
about Epics. Although I speculated that David was serious only about Steelheart, it turns out Steelheart
is not the only target, as David plans to eliminate all the Epics. When Nightwielder arrived in
Diamond s weapon shop while David, Abraham and Meghan were still there, David s description of
Nightwielder instilled suspense and a little bit of fear in me. This creature was Steelheart s right hand
Epic, the source of the darkness that cut Newcago off from the sun and stars. Similar darkness stirred
on the ground around him, sliding toward shadows and pooling there. He could kill with that, could
make tendrils of that dark mist turn solid and spear a man. (Sanderson, 103). This made me
understand more about who Nightwielder is and why he is a formidable foe. The entire scene became
intense since David, Abraham and Meghan knew that if Nightwielder found out they were here, they
would not be alive. Following through the story, the Reckoners

Observing Pre-Primer
I began the graded paragraphs at the Pre Primer level. The reason for this, is because it is the only
section in which Alvin got 100% of the words correct. In the CRI, you always begin the paragraphs at
the last level in which the student received 100% in the word list. For Alvin, this was the Pre Primer or
PP level. To determine whether or not Alvin had adequate background knowledge for the reading
passage, I simply just asked him a few questions on the topic. For instance, I would say to him: This is
a story about puppies. What do you know about puppies? What is your favorite thing about puppies?
These are just simple questions to make sure that Alvin has at least some level of familiarity with the
topics. The one topic that Alvin did not have much familiarity with was the Pony Express. He knew
what the post office was, and was familiar with horses and ponies however. So after a brief
explanation on what it was, I felt like he knew enough to continue with the assessment. 5) How long

I began the assessment with the graded word list. This took roughly 15 20 minutes. We then took a
break for him to go to recess and lunch. After lunch, the class had independent reading time. So Alvin
and I took the opportunity to finish up the assessment with the paragraphs. This took a little longer,
around 30 minutes. All told, the process took a few hours, with breaks in between. I could see Alvin
was getting fidgety at the end though. So it could have possibly been better to break up the activity
more. One suggestion I would have for myself is to administer the words and the paragraphs on
separate days, this way the student is not spending so much time out of their day sitting in a chair with

The Impact Of The International Style In Art And Deco...
Chapter 1 Introduction
In 1890s, Art and Crafts movement started and its architecture worked in different kind of media

After the Arts and Crafts movement, Art Deco architecture style was started before the International

Oh, well, it s overcollateralized by 30 percent. My gosh, we couldn t have 30 percent of the mortgages
going bad here, so we re going to give it a AAA rating. So nobody really looked at the human faces
behind these mortgages to see if they were actually affordable and sustainable. How could this
happen? It was a breakdown at every step of the way, and regulators included. The majority of it was
done outside of insured depository institutions. But there were some banks that were doing it, too. And
I think that was more in response as they were losing market share to third party originators who were
the shadow banking system pretty much completely outside the regulatory system. They could get
funding from Wall Street securitizations, and again, the risk was being passed on to investors who also
weren t looking at the underlying mortgages. And borrowers, ... it was still working for them so long

Influence Of Peter The Great
There have been many absolute rulers that ruled societies throughout history. Some of those rulers that
had power would use it to either abuse their power to control everyone and have their own rules or the
rulers would enlighten their power and give the people more privileges. One ruler that enlightened his
power was Peter the Great. Peter the great used his power to improve society and used ideas from the
ruler before. Those ideas from the ruler before that was never used peter the great took those ideas and
made the ideas happen for the people and society.
When peter the great first came into power peter the great wanted to take old ideas and improve them

dressed and Peter the Great made people shave their beards if they wanted to keep their beards they
would have to pay a special tax in order to keep the beard. Peter wanted the people also to get rid of
their old clothes and wear new clothes that were better. Peter as a ruler made sure his ideas could be

Exercise Increases The Intelligence Of Humans
Now a days everywhere you go people are idolizing human fitness and exercise. The majority of this
generation eats right, lifts right and obsesses over their image. The average person is going to strive
for a great body, and great intelligence. But who ever said you can have both a great healthy body and
intelligence? I do, the human brain is the most complex and unique organ in the body. Some even
consider it a muscle. Similar to muscles, your brain can be trained and worked for better functionality.
There is a direct connection between exercising and increased intelligence in humans. In this paper I
will be backing up my claim that exercise increases the intelligence of humans. By exercise I mean
aerobic physical activity. Physical activity is better known as cardio, it is when your body requires
pumping of oxygenated blood by the heart to deliver oxygen to working muscles. By intelligence I
mean cognitive ability, memorization and academic achievement. Humans, meaning the entire general
population, not a specific sample of the population. I will also being offering a counter argument,
stating that intelligence does not increase human intelligence. Then, I will be evaluating the two
claims, applying reason, and utilizing the four tests of an argument and taking advantage of my critical
thinking skills to validate my claim. Lastly, I will be concluding and synthesizing my argument. A

Volleyball Court Attributes
One of the most troublesome feelings one can experience in life is being unsatisfied with yourself. We
are susceptible to notice negative features in other people, but fail to look in the mirror and to
critically evaluate our behavior or self attributes. When we do, we notice many traits within ourselves
we would not like to be there. I try to remain open minded towards the majority of my personality
features. Though, concurrently with my positive qualities, I can be very unconfident on the volleyball
court. I learned to cope with this and other drawbacks; but I would enjoy getting rid of this quality. It
is human nature to feel unconfident from time to time. Picture the situation where you re the youngest
setter on the court starting and you have to be like the quarterback of the Team. This is one chance in a
million, and you know this opportunity could either make you or break you in your volleyball career.
There is a lot of attributes you need as a setter from decision making to communication skills but of all
these confidence is very important in being a setter. You can t go in their feeling unsure, instead you
need to positively step on that court and communicate with each hitter to let them know what they re
hitting and when the ball is put into play make a split second decision on who you re going to set
based on the pass you get, the other team s blockers, defense and abilities. Not only do you worry
about yourself on the court but also everyone else, you make sure each person is where they re

Gone Baby Gone Analysis
The following analysis is done on the 2007 film Gone Baby Gone , directed by Ben Affleck and
adapted from the novel by Dennis Lehane. The movie is based in Dorchester, Massachusetts where
two Boston private investigators Patrick Kenzie and his partner and girlfriend Angie Gennaro are
hired to find the child of Helene McCready, Amanda, who was abducted from her home one night
while her mother was off using drugs with her boyfriend. After a two month investigation it is
discovered by investigator Kenzie that the police captain Jack Doyle had abducted the child with the
aid of Amanda s uncle Lionel McCready and police detective Remy Bressant to protect and remove
Amanda from the drug addicted mothers care. Captain Doyle s own daughter was killed years prior to
the incident which likely contributed to the decision to abduct the child. For the purposes of this paper,
we will not be investigating Captain Doyle s presenting problems and rather focusing on the issues of
the child s abduction and the ramifications on her developmental processes as well as briefly reflecting
upon the moral dilemma Patrick Kenzie faces at the climax of the story. The psychological
perspectives studied throughout this coursework have examined mental health presenting from a
social environment and not simply from the biological and individual systems in which the individual
is concerned. Lateral movement from negative and unhealthy environments to those of more stable

Feminism And The Second Wave Of Feminism
Any given person can define feminism in a different way. Some view it as a women s movement for
women, by women and against men. It can also be hard to distinguish the different types of feminism
when the more radical, outspoken people or organizations can overshadow the rest. In general,
feminism is another way in which to view things, another lens in which to see the world. It is another
platform for people to express themselves as whole individuals and become a voice for others that
may otherwise remain unheard. Feminism as a whole takes a look at social constructs and gender
norms and begins to deconstruct them to create an environment that is equal and accepting of all
persons. In the second wave of feminism, many women began to break out of the roles as housewives
and mothers and speak up for equality. Gloria Steinem is among many of the influential women who
took the world by storm with their radical ideas of feminism and challenge the ideals that society had
set forth for post war women of the time. Before joining Bella Abzug and Betty Friedan in the
formation of the National Women s Politic Caucus, Gloria Steinem was taking care of her divorced,
mentally ill mother in Toledo, Ohio. Steinem spent six years caring for her mother before she left for
Smith College where she obtained a degree in government, a choice that was non traditional for a
woman at the time. After establishing herself as a freelance writer, Steinem worked for Show

Elizabeth Bennet Satire
In the 1800s, Jane Austen, who is an accomplished author wrote the satirical novel Pride and

sisters, a crazy mother and a very unique look on marriage.During this novel, two of Elizabeth s
sisters: Lydia and Jane get married after they both faced an abundance of drama, which makes their
eager mother every happy. After an awkward proposal, Elizabeth finds an extremely wealthy man, Mr.

Evolution Of Chemical Warfare
Records of the implementation of chemicals in battle tactics on a simple scale can be found as early as
the Bronze Age.1 However, relatively recent developments in industry have facilitated the production,
mobilization, and dissemination of destructive chemical agents. As a result of said technological
innovations, the scale of implementation has shifted, resulting in vastly amplified hazards to not just
military personnel, but also to the general public.2 3 The Geneva Protocol was enacted in 1925 with
goals to prevent the future abuse of harmful and arguably cruel tactics in warfare.2 This was in direct
response to the implementation of phosgene and chlorine gasses by Germany as weapons of mass
destruction at Ypres, Belgium in 1915, considered ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Rent Control
Rent Control in New York: An Economic Analysis
Rent control refers to laws that limit the amounts of rent and the amounts that rent can be increased in
any year. There is no statewide rent control in the US, and all the rent control laws and regulation are
passed by cities. Most of the cities with rent control are located in New York, California, and New
Jersey. Washington, D.C. also has rent control.
Rent control first appeared in the United States in the early 1900s as a way of dealing with exorbitant
rent prices brought about by wartime housing emergencies and tight housing markets. During this
time, rent control was handled by the federal government. In the late 1940 s, the federal rent control
system was gradually scaled back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In places with a rent control board or agency, the tenant usually doesn t have to take that risk. The
tenant can report the violation to the board or agency and ask for permission to withhold rent. In some
cities, if the condition of a rental property is very bad, the board or agency can take over, collect the
rents, and make repairs.
Because rent control sometimes ends or the rent can be raised when a tenant is evicted, landlords may
abuse the right to evict tenants. Most cities that have rent control laws limit the reasons for an
eviction. A landlord can t give the tenant a 30 day or 60 day notice that the tenant must leave. The
landlord must have a good reason for the eviction such as nonpayment of rent, breach of the rental
agreement like pets that aren t allowed, or illegal activity.
The broad powers of rent control boards and agencies mean that many more issues and disputes about
landlord tenant issues are resolved in informal hearings instead of in courts during eviction
proceedings. Some cities provide mediation services as well, to help landlords and tenants work out
their differences.
Rent control laws were popular in the 1970s into the 1980s, but organized landlord opposition to the
laws caused some of them to be repealed or weakened after the late 1980s. In the places where rent
control still exists, it has usually been affected by two kinds of decontrol. The first is called

Overcoming Obstacles For Life s Obstacle Course
Siddiqui, Aayan Narrative
Winning Against Life s Obstacle Course
Nothing upon earth is without its difficulties! It is the secret impulse within, it is the love and the
delight we feel, that help us to conquer obstacles, to clear out new paths, and to overleap the bounds of
that narrow circle in which others poorly toil. Johann Goethe. writer. Overcoming obstacles in life is
very important to developing a person. This quote from Goethe gives us many reasons as to why. It

Difficulties help us to improve ourselves and give us motivation to do better. A good example is the
famous scientist Dmitri Mendeleev. Mendeleev had a very tough life. He had 10+ siblings and was the
youngest. His father was a scientist, and had died. His mother had to make the living, and she opened
up an old classroom. Later that classroom was burnt down. Mendeleev s mom saw his potential and
how successful he could be, so she took him miles to a university in Moscow and pleaded for them to
take her son. They refused, so they went to the same university that his father had graduated from.
They let him in, and as soon as they had agreed, she had died, knowing that she had completed her
mission. This motivation to not waste his mother s sacrifices fueled him to reach greatness. He
formulated the Periodic Table. He enhanced himself mentally and had motivation from the many
obstacles in his and his family s life to do such great things. Benjamin Franklin, another good
example, had to drop out of school when he was ten years old because his parents couldn t afford to
pay. He read voraciously, and became one of the founding fathers of USA, and invented the lightning
rod and bifocals. Such a massive obstacle motivated him to do better and enhance himself mentally. It
s like having a rivalry with life.

Main Reasons For The Abolition Of The Slave Trade In Britain
History Assessment
What was the main reason for the abolition of the slave trade in Britain?
The Atlantic slave trade was a historical period that started in the 15th century and the slave trade was
abolished in the year 1807. The nature of the Atlantic slave trade could be described as brutal because
of the conditions that the captured Africans were forced to endure both during the journey from Africa
to the Americas and their time on the plantations. During the journey from Africa to the Americas the
captured Africans were put into the ship s hold and kept on small shelves with no ventilation or
anywhere to defecate.
The triangular trade was a key part of the Atlantic slave trade as it was the main process used to trade
for Africans and for trading Africans. The triangular trade started in Europe and went to Africa to trade
manufactured goods such as: pots, guns and fabric. The traders would then take the traded Africans to
the Americas to be traded in exchange for products such as: sugar, cotton and tobacco. The journey
would end in Europe then the same cycle would be repeated many times over.
The abolition of the slave trade in Britain was a process that took several years to be a success because
of the strong opposition from the MPs and others who were benefitting off the slave trade. The main
reason for most of the opposition was because of the amount of wealth the slave trade was creating for
Europe, this made people believe that they needed the slave trade for

American Identity In Daniel James Brown s The Boys In The...
American identity is a concept that has never truly been defined. Though anyone is at freedom to
come up with their own personal definition of this concept, it proves near impossible to place meaning
on this imposing subject. To author Daniel James Brown, the definition of American identity was not a
matter of picking the right words, but rather examining the actions of everyday Americans. In his book
The Boys in the Boat, he delves into the topic of the nine man rowing team who would go on to defeat
Germany in the 1936, Berlin Olympics. This novel is important to the definition of American Identity
because of the backgrounds of the boys, the process they had to go through, and what their victory
meant to America. For the most part the novel takes place over three years exploring the ... Show more

It specifically centers upon the life of Joe Rantz, whom Brown had met and interviewed for many
months after deciding to write this book. Rantz is in many ways similar to the other eight boys as they
all had to struggle with the economic and environmental disasters that plagued America in the 1930 s.
Following the stock market crash in 1929, the country was going through the Great Depression
(History.com). This event left many Americans without jobs, and banks began to close rapidly taking
with them more than $2.5 billion in deposits (History.com). People struggled to raise enough money to
be able to feed their families, and often resorted to doing hard labor or odd jobs to make ends meet. As
difficult as this was, it was not the end of the hardships that were faced in this time. Another event
called the Dust Bowl ravaged its way through America. Including a massive drought, heat waves, and
wind storms, there was little land left that was able to farm (History.com).

The Abolition of Capital Punishment in Australia
Since the last execution in Australia in 1967 of Ronald Ryan and the abolition of capital punishment in
Australia in 1973 imprisonment has been the only option as a sanction for murder. A survey conducted
in 2009 demonstrated that a clear majority of Australians (64%) believed that imprisonment should be
the punishment for murder as opposed to 23% stating the death penalty should be used and 13% did
not wish to comment. The death penalty is not an effective punishment for all cases and there has not
been any solid evidence stating that it is a more effective deterrent than imprisonment. Furthermore
capital punishment possesses the risk of executing the innocent, which has happened or almost
happened numerous times in the past such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, implementing capital punishment is much more expensive than life imprisonment. In a
government with capital punishment, both the trial and appeal process are much more expensive in
comparison to noncapital cases as the trials are generally longer and more complex. Australian
lawyers estimate that a single capital punishment case could cost taxpayers around $5.5 million while
life imprisonment approximately costs $1.5 million.2 Saving money should not be an argument in
retaining capital punishment. If Australia re instated capital punishment, Federal and State taxes would
need to be increased, all community services would be drastically cut, more hidden taxes would be
introduced and finally all essential services and local government costs would also increase. This
exemplifies how life imprisonment should be the only option for offences as it not only costs millions
less, it also still ensures that the public is protected and the money saved could be spent on programs
that actually improve the communities in which we live. This highlights how international
jurisdictions for various reasons should, in majority of cases, follow Australia s example and abolish
capital punishment for murder and all crimes, however in some cases including repeat offenders such
as Peter Dupas capital punishment could be a more effective punishment.
Although in majority of cases capital punishment should not be an option worldwide, some offenders
have too high of a chance

The Great Leap Backward Essay examples
Imagine ruling an empire that s economy and agriculture is growing slowly while at the same time
having a population burst. What would you do? Continue on improving and gaining little or increase
production to try to save the blooming population? This is the situation Mao Zedong, emperor of
China, was forced to face in the 1950 s. So, he made a plan that was suggested to him by the Soviet
Union called the First Five Year Economic Plan; focusing on speeding up the production of agriculture
to increase the economy and decrease nation wide famine. After the 5 years, agricultural resources had

But that was not enough for Mao; he wanted more of everything. So he continued on and enforced
another Five Year Plan, and this time invested more in agriculture to make a bigger production.
Though he spent more in agriculture, he made labors work in communes for no pay. Their pay was the
commune, which Mao made the state pay for, in which they were given to live in with almost 100 to
200 other people. Therefore, workers had no true incentive to work hard and make more agriculture
gains from which Mao believed they lacked from the first five year plan. Enforcing this many people
to work in communes cause for a wider spread of disease and more people to work a smaller land.
Even though Mao made every farmer and peasant give up their own land to help the state, there was
still and overflow of people on strips of land. Since Mao s new agriculture theory of speeding up
production was planting more crops closer together and this overflow of people, causing them to be
more careless and plant crops even closer to each other. This closeness caused roots to cross and kill
other crops. Also caused crops not to get the necessary resources and minerals need to grow and
caused them to just never grow. This killing of crops, set agriculture production plummeting down
causing a nation wide famine and set the economy spiraling down into a recession. Where the prices
for food were overly expensive causing starvation, and millions of deaths from starvation and famine.

Symptoms And Treatment Of Pituitary Apoplexy Essay
PITUITARY APOPLEXY INTRODUCTION Pituitary apoplexy is a rare condition that can be missed
or misdiagnosed if a strong clinical suspicion is not present. The consequences can be deleterious for
vision or even life threatening. This remains a poorly understood entity in both its pathogenesis and
optimal management. The aim of treatment is to preserve life, vision and functionality of the gland.
There is still controversy regarding the optimal management of these patients, especially conservative

diagnosis of pituitary apoplexy remains a neuroendocrine emergency and requires decision making as
to whether to manage the patient conservatively or surgically. CASE A 33 year old female presented to

Analyzing United States Involvement in Indonesia During...
A comprehensive analysis of the United States involvement in Indonesia during the Vietnam War is a
virtual case study in lessons learned and mistakes not to make during martial encounters. These errors
and the lessons they provided spanned a number of different areas, and include noticeable blunders in
social and cultural contexts, presidential leadership, and in diplomatic negotiations. Although the U.S.
made a number of mistakes and miscalculations concerning the cultural needs of the South
Vietnamese people that the former attempted to preserve from the spreading grips of Communism
during this military encounter, one of the most egregious of these involved the Strategic Hamlet
Program. This program, which was initiated in 1961, was designed to relocate members of the South
Vietnamese populations to camps that were secured by both the U.S. and the South Vietnamese
government it was backing. The aim was to keep the population from turning communist. However,
certain miscalculations regarding the cultural ties this indigenous population had to its preexisting
land, as well as farming issues and land ownership issues that actually worsened the lot for most South
Vietnamese residents who were uprooted, actually undermined this program and allowed for it to
become subverted by Communist forces which was the exact opposite of its goal. In terms of
presidential leadership, one of the biggest lessons that the U.S. and President Kennedy in particular

Drone Technology And The Issue
Several important ethical and moral concerns have come to the surface regarding drone technology
and the issue is currently investigated and even debated in Congress. Until recently, when we hear the
word drone, most of us automatically add the word attack on the end or think of something negative.
That s because mostly, drones are frequently used for surveillance, intelligence and, ultimately,
offensive operations. Drones also known as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles , or UAV s are mostly used in
situations where manned flight is too difficult or dangerous, making them ideal for warfare.
Increasingly, the United States has come to rely on the use of drones to counter the terrorist threats.
Drones have arguably produced significant success in dealing with terrorists while limiting civilian
casualties and protecting U.S. soldiers, but it has raised some serious ethical concerns. Drones are now
going beyond conflict zones to the point that they will be landing on your doorstep in a few years
time. Drones are also used extensively in scientific researches, for species surveys, terrain mapping,
border patrolling, geophysics surveys and many more other applications that yet to develop. Drones

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Circuit Breaker
3.4 controlled opening
Controlled opening subjects for controlling the contact separation of all the three poles of circuit
breaker with respect to the phase angle of the current. Controlling of the point of contact separation
determines the arcing time of the breaker contacts to help and prevent breaker and circuit switched to
get not to fail in its operation and to minimize stress and disturbances to the power system. The
implementation of controlled opening is randomly the same regardless of the equipment is to being
switched. The control is straight forward once timing data for a breaker is available, particularly the
time from energizing the trip coil to contact separation. Although controlled opening is greatly done
using the current through the circuit breaker, the bus bar voltage can be used if the voltage current
phase relationship is always known to us, such as for shunt reactor and switching of shunt capacitor.
The breaker is controlled so that its contacts will part just after a current zero. As the contacts manage
to open they draw out an arc that will extinguish less than a half cycle later at the next current zero
position. When the arc will extinguish, the contacts would have been separates as far apart as
practical, which provides the maximum dielectric strength available for the surrounding conditions.
This gives the breaker its best chance of successfully with standing the recovery voltage and not
having a re ignition or a re strike. Re ignition is a dielectric breakdown that re establishes current
within 90 electrical degrees of interruption. Re strike is a dielectric breakdown after 90 degrees.

Glomerulonephritis Essay
Glomerulonephritis (GN), or the inflammation of glomeruli, is a leading cause of renal failure
worldwide. Inflammation is characterized by vascular fragility, infiltration of leukocytes, and edema.
Glomerular disease may manifest by three major syndromes: nephritic syndrome, nephrotic syndrome,
and rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis (RPGN). Nephritic syndrome consists of sudden onset of
hematuria, non nephrotic range proteinuria (1.5 g/24 h), active sediment with red blood cell (RBC)
casts or dysmorphic RBCs, acute renal failure, and hypertension. Nephrotic syndrome is characterized
by heavy proteinuria ( 3.5 g/24 h), edema, hypoalbuminemia, and hyperlipidemia. RPGN is
characterized by active sediment (RBC casts and dysmorphic RBCs) and rapid development of acute
renal failure usually over a period of weeks to months. Glomerulonephritis accounts for the majority
of progressive renal disease in many parts of the world.
ETIOLOGY
Glomerulonephritis has diverse etiologies related to disorders of the immune system, including
abnormal immunoglobulin and complement regulation. Glomerulonephritis is caused by immune
processes that lead to deposition of antibodies and complement within the glomerulus. This results in

Late 19th Century Law and Order

Apollonian Dionysian Dialectic In Suddenly Last Summer
In the setting of Suddenly Last Summer the Apollonian Dionysian dialectic is evident in the tension
between artifice and nature. This is particularly seen in the description of Sebastian s garden where the
setting is nearly a character in itself. Author Tessa Gratton believes, you give your setting a life by
making its heart beat and it is how the characters react to it that brings it to life. This is something
Tennessee Williams does particular well in Suddenly Last Summer:
The interior is blended with a fantastic garden which is more like a tropical jungle, or forest, in a
prehistoric age of giant fern forests when living creatures had flippers turning to limbs and scales to
skin....the colors of this jungle garden are violent, especially since it is steaming with heat after rain.
Sebastian s garden establishes the familiar gothic dialectic s of overrefinement and wildness,
fastidious artifice and dangerous nature that are common in this genre. Under its neat well groomed
exterior the garden contains the Dionysian image of sacrifice in the feeding of the fruit flies to the
Venus flytrap plant. This is clearly no idyllic tropical garden but a blood thirsty jungle. Catharine
provides the significance of the play s setting when she describes Sebastian s body ... Show more

Brave New World Alienation Analysis
Alienation in Brave New World In the novel Brave New World , there are many indications of the
motif alienation that is seen in the novel as discrimination. Alienation is indicated directly towards
John the savage, who is discriminated, but also is seen as a person of interest that isolates him and
alienates him. The World State discovers how different John s culture is and mock it, believing it to be
nonsense. As John enters the society enjoying the magnificent sights and the thrill of entering into a
new society, he soon realizes how corrupt the entire society is and regrets coming because how he is
alienated among the people. Brave New World is a novel that involves a culture of discrimination,
which the citizens of the World State alienate other moral standards, religious beliefs, and diverse
culture. John s morals are tested by the people who try to indulge him into sex, partying, and
alienating his standards of life. The novel portrays lot of discrimination towards John who suffers
from all this corruption and is mocked for his morals of purity. John is the new entertainment for the
people who try to offer him the drug soma and invite him to be like them instead of following his
morals of a human being. The cruel temptations are signs of alienation, because it is portrayed that the
people disagree with John and want him to instead feel free from his chains of morals and be like
them. John is regretting ever leaving his home and feels deeply hurt from all the

Why Your Brand Should Be On Users
Why your brand should be on Snapchat...
When Snapchat first launched, it quickly gained a lot of bad press. In 2014, 4.6million of its user s
personal details were leaked, with usernames and partial phone numbers being made available online.
This was in addition to the controversy already being created by users who latched onto the quick
photo gone forever premise to share their personal moments... unfortunately for the app, it didn t take
long for others to recognise the ease of a screenshot. Suddenly Snapchat was being lambasted across
all media for poor security, enabling bullying and encouraging users to send images that they wouldn t
want shared.
I m not here to spark a debate over this well covered subject again. It s in the past. 2014 is a long time
ago in the digital landscape. I m here instead to convince those of you who still see Snapchat in this
light that things have changed. Better still, I m here to make you realise why you should be using
Snapchat for your brand.
To whet your appetite, here are a few Snapchat facts:
Snapchat s 100 million users share over 400 million Snaps daily. That is more than images being
loaded to either Facebook or Instagram
There is an average 9,000 Snaps being shared every second
Mark Zuckerberg has twice tried to purchase Snapchat, once for $1bn, and a second time for $3bn.
Both times the offers were rejected
Snapchat generates an average 10 billion video views per day
54% of Snapchat users will use the app daily

The Greatest Kings Of Ancient Babylon
There were many leaders who tried to control and ensure power for themselves and their citizens.
Many would go to the extreme to maintain their powers and others would let the people s influence,
influence them. Some places that had leaders were, Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Ancient China, and
even India. One of the most important leader back in 1795 BCE was Hammurabi, but was overthrown
in 1750. He was the leader in Babylon but was taken down by Assyrians. The Assyrians had taken
over Babylon, had made it their own, and have changed so much. They forced all the people to move
out to their Assyrian Kingdom and obey the Assyrian Kingdom. Hindus practice a religion called
hinduism which was formally started in India. Many people had to live by hinduism because they
were born in it. They won t be able to change who they are, it was basically impossible. King
Nebuchadnezzar was one of the greatest kings of Ancient Babylon. He was considered the best kind
because he had restored old religion monuments and improved waterways. He was able to control the
periphery because of him and his strong and professional army. It is hard just to pick one best leader
but most will say that Hammurabi was the best one, only because of how was able to maintain his city
in peace and maintain his power.
Hammurabi was the sixth king of Babylon from 1792 BCE to 1750 BCE. When Hammurabi first
became king of Babylon it was all quiet and peaceful. He had many loyal citizens and they obeyed
everything he

Nurse Anesthetist
Working in the medical field has always been a popular job, but it s not an easy one. There are many
routines to uphold and if you aren t good with organization, then working in the hospital isn t for you.
I have chosen a career path to be a nurse anesthetist and this essay will tell you why.
Job characteristics for a general nurse anesthetist include: reviewing medical history, evaluating
patients and their accurate method of anesthesia, properly measuring and overseeing the level and
speed of the anesthesia being administered, keeping an eye on patient s vital signs, informing the
surgeon if patient becomes unstable, attending to the patient s needs before, during and after the
surgery, and checking on the patient s recovery from the anesthesia.

Summary Of Angela Liddel
Angela Liddel stares forlornly out of the window in the limousine. Movies and novels often
romanticize boarding school, but the concept is daunting to the sixteen year old. The Atlantic Ocean is
rather unimpressive; nothing like she d expected, and so far feels general disappointment amid
arriving at Madame LeFoux s Academy for Exemplary Young Ladies. Angela wasn t certain what she
was expecting, but this certainly wasn t it. She treks up the steps to the large mansion, uncertain of
what would come next. Angela takes a deep breath, and sounds the large lion head knocker, and the
door swings open. Hello? Angela calls out, but there is no response. She decides to search for the
headmistress s office so that she might become more acquainted with the building. As she turns a
corner she collides with a petite woman. Pardon me, darling. She says, picking up her pocketbook
from the ground. As she returns to standing, she sees Angela clasping on to her suitcase for dear life.
This must be the new student, Miss Liddel. The woman murmurs to herself. Her chestnut brown eyes
smile fondly down at the student. Yes, it s Angela Liddel. The girl says uncertainly, Who might you
be? Pleased to make acquaintances Miss Liddel, darling, I am Headmistress Ariadne LeFoux, but you
may simply call me Madame. I am the headmistress. If you d like to follow me, let s begin by giving
you a tour of these grounds. The woman s grin is startling, as she doesn t seem the type to smile very
often. The headmistress leads Angela to the dining hall, and as they approach the room, Madame
pauses before throwing the double doors open. The dining hall is vast, with long wooden benches and
identical long tables fill the room. It s a grand room, and ornate in style. What sort of classes are
available? Angela asks, even more disappointed. This school intends to teach stuffy rich girls how to
embroider and keep house. A highly unusual education is in store for you, Miss Liddel, darling. We
specialize in more... investigative skills and covert operations. Madame LeFoux replies, eying Angela
s reaction cautiously. Pardon, Madame. I don t understand... This is spy school? Angela asks, utterly
dumbfounded, I thought that your

Wetlands can decrease flooding, remove pollutants from water, recharge groundwater, protect shorelines, provide habitat for wildlife, and serve important recreational and cultural functions. Al Qaeda s attacks on September 11th, 2001, and the subsequent wars born out of the United States response to these attacks have meant that domestic terrorism is less widely discussed topic, this does not mean that domestic terrorist groups do not present a serious threat to the United States and its citizens. Although I speculated that David was serious only about Steelheart, it turns out Steelheart is not the only target, as David plans to eliminate all the Epics. In the CRI, you always begin the paragraphs at the last level in which the student received 100% in the word list. For Alvin, this was the Pre Primer or PP level. To determine whether or not Alvin had adequate background knowledge for the reading passage, I simply just asked him a few questions on the topic. In general, feminism is another way in which to view things, another lens in which to see the world. As a result of said technological innovations, the scale of implementation has shifted, resulting in vastly amplified hazards to not just military personnel, but also to the general public.2 3 The Geneva Protocol was enacted in 1925 with goals to prevent the future abuse of harmful and arguably cruel tactics in warfare.2 This was in direct response to the implementation of phosgene and chlorine gasses by Germany as weapons of mass destruction at Ypres, Belgium in 1915, considered ... There is no statewide rent control in the US, and all the rent control laws and regulation are passed by cities. Most of the cities with rent control are located in New York, California, and New Jersey. Washington, D.C. also has rent control. Rent control first appeared in the United States in the early 1900s as a way of dealing with exorbitant rent prices brought about by wartime housing emergencies and tight housing markets. During this time, rent control was handled by the federal government. In the late 1940 s, the federal rent control system was gradually scaled back ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In places with a rent control board or agency, the tenant usually doesn t have to take that risk. The tenant can report the violation to the board or agency and ask for permission to withhold rent. In some cities, if the condition of a rental property is very bad, the board or agency can take over, collect the rents, and make repairs. Because rent control sometimes ends or the rent can be raised when a tenant is evicted, landlords may abuse the right to evict tenants. Most cities that have rent control laws limit the reasons for an eviction. A landlord can t give the tenant a 30 day or 60 day notice that the tenant must leave. The landlord must have a good reason for the eviction such as nonpayment of rent, breach of the rental agreement like pets that aren t allowed, or illegal activity. The broad powers of rent control boards and agencies mean that many more issues and disputes about landlord tenant issues are resolved in informal hearings instead of in courts during eviction proceedings. Some cities provide mediation services as well, to help landlords and tenants work out their differences. Rent control laws were popular in the 1970s into the 1980s, but organized landlord opposition to the laws caused some of them to be repealed or weakened after the late 1980s. In the places where rent control still exists, it has usually been affected by two kinds of decontrol. The first is called ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Main Reasons For The Abolition Of The Slave Trade In Britain History Assessment What was the main reason for the abolition of the slave trade in Britain? The Atlantic slave trade was a historical period that started in the 15th century and the slave trade was abolished in the year 1807. The nature of the Atlantic slave trade could be described as brutal because of the conditions that the captured Africans were forced to endure both during the journey from Africa to the Americas and their time on the plantations. During the journey from Africa to the Americas the captured Africans were put into the ship s hold and kept on small shelves with no ventilation or anywhere to defecate. The triangular trade was a key part of the Atlantic slave trade as it was the main process used to trade for Africans and for trading Africans. The triangular trade started in Europe and went to Africa to trade manufactured goods such as: pots, guns and fabric. The traders would then take the traded Africans to the Americas to be traded in exchange for products such as: sugar, cotton and tobacco. The journey would end in Europe then the same cycle would be repeated many times over. The abolition of the slave trade in Britain was a process that took several years to be a success because of the strong opposition from the MPs and others who were benefitting off the slave trade. The main reason for most of the opposition was because of the amount of wealth the slave trade was creating for Europe, this made people believe that they needed the slave trade for ... In fact, implementing capital punishment is much more expensive than life imprisonment. In a government with capital punishment, both the trial and appeal process are much more expensive in comparison to noncapital cases as the trials are generally longer and more complex. Australian lawyers estimate that a single capital punishment case could cost taxpayers around $5.5 million while life imprisonment approximately costs $1.5 million.2 Saving money should not be an argument in retaining capital punishment. If Australia re instated capital punishment, Federal and State taxes would need to be increased, all community services would be drastically cut, more hidden taxes would be introduced and finally all essential services and local government costs would also increase. This exemplifies how life imprisonment should be the only option for offences as it not only costs millions less, it also still ensures that the public is protected and the money saved could be spent on programs that actually improve the communities in which we live. This highlights how international jurisdictions for various reasons should, in majority of cases, follow Australia s example and abolish capital punishment for murder and all crimes, however in some cases including repeat offenders such as Peter Dupas capital punishment could be a more effective punishment. A comprehensive analysis of the United States involvement in Indonesia during the Vietnam War is a virtual case study in lessons learned and mistakes not to make during martial encounters. These errors and the lessons they provided spanned a number of different areas, and include noticeable blunders in social and cultural contexts, presidential leadership, and in diplomatic negotiations. Although the U.S. made a number of mistakes and miscalculations concerning the cultural needs of the South Vietnamese people that the former attempted to preserve from the spreading grips of Communism during this military encounter, one of the most egregious of these involved the Strategic Hamlet Program. This program, which was initiated in 1961, was designed to relocate members of the South Vietnamese populations to camps that were secured by both the U.S. and the South Vietnamese government it was backing. The aim was to keep the population from turning communist. However, certain miscalculations regarding the cultural ties this indigenous population had to its preexisting land, as well as farming issues and land ownership issues that actually worsened the lot for most South Vietnamese residents who were uprooted, actually undermined this program and allowed for it to become subverted by Communist forces which was the exact opposite of its goal. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Circuit Breaker 3.4 controlled opening Controlled opening subjects for controlling the contact separation of all the three poles of circuit breaker with respect to the phase angle of the current. Controlling of the point of contact separation determines the arcing time of the breaker contacts to help and prevent breaker and circuit switched to get not to fail in its operation and to minimize stress and disturbances to the power system. The implementation of controlled opening is randomly the same regardless of the equipment is to being switched. The control is straight forward once timing data for a breaker is available, particularly the time from energizing the trip coil to contact separation. Although controlled opening is greatly done using the current through the circuit breaker, the bus bar voltage can be used if the voltage current phase relationship is always known to us, such as for shunt reactor and switching of shunt capacitor. The breaker is controlled so that its contacts will part just after a current zero. As the contacts manage to open they draw out an arc that will extinguish less than a half cycle later at the next current zero position. When the arc will extinguish, the contacts would have been separates as far apart as practical, which provides the maximum dielectric strength available for the surrounding conditions. This gives the breaker its best chance of successfully with standing the recovery voltage and not having a re ignition or a re strike. • 45. Summary Of Angela Liddel Angela Liddel stares forlornly out of the window in the limousine. Movies and novels often romanticize boarding school, but the concept is daunting to the sixteen year old. The Atlantic Ocean is rather unimpressive; nothing like she d expected, and so far feels general disappointment amid arriving at Madame LeFoux s Academy for Exemplary Young Ladies. Angela wasn t certain what she was expecting, but this certainly wasn t it. She treks up the steps to the large mansion, uncertain of what would come next. Angela takes a deep breath, and sounds the large lion head knocker, and the door swings open. Hello? Angela calls out, but there is no response. She decides to search for the headmistress s office so that she might become more acquainted with the building. As she turns a corner she collides with a petite woman. Pardon me, darling. She says, picking up her pocketbook from the ground. As she returns to standing, she sees Angela clasping on to her suitcase for dear life. This must be the new student, Miss Liddel. The woman murmurs to herself. Her chestnut brown eyes smile fondly down at the student. Yes, it s Angela Liddel. The girl says uncertainly, Who might you be? Pleased to make acquaintances Miss Liddel, darling, I am Headmistress Ariadne LeFoux, but you may simply call me Madame. I am the headmistress. If you d like to follow me, let s begin by giving you a tour of these grounds. The woman s grin is startling, as she doesn t seem the type to smile very often. The headmistress leads Angela to the dining hall, and as they approach the room, Madame pauses before throwing the double doors open. The dining hall is vast, with long wooden benches and identical long tables fill the room. It s a grand room, and ornate in style. What sort of classes are available? Angela asks, even more disappointed. This school intends to teach stuffy rich girls how to embroider and keep house. A highly unusual education is in store for you, Miss Liddel, darling. We specialize in more... investigative skills and covert operations. Madame LeFoux replies, eying Angela s reaction cautiously. Pardon, Madame. I don t understand... This is spy school? Angela asks, utterly dumbfounded, I thought that your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
