Animals Vs Animals
Circuses are loved all around the world, the audience loves seeing the animals do all the crazy tricks.
What they do not know is that circuses are treating their animals terribly. Protestors are a voice for the
animals. The animals can not say what is on their minds, so the protests are doing it for them. They
have been trying to get animals out of the circuses The way animals act in the wild and circuses are
two completely different things. Protests have been going around all across the world to stop having
animals in the circus.
Even though circus protestors have been arounds for years, one event that was striking to everyone
was, in 2009 whistleblower Sam Haddock was shared photos of how a baby elephant was trained with
the circus. What these photos showed were acts of animal abuse; using sharp metal tools to get them
to do poses and tying them up their limbs and trunks. In an article written by Compassion Works
International it stats, The circus lied to us form the time we were small, causing us to think that
whipping tigers or making elephants stand on their heads is normal , when those activities are
anything but normal (Compassion Works International). Protestors do not understand why they think
doing this to animals is okay, causing animals pain and discomfort is not a good thing. The audience
does not see what it s like behind the scenes, that is why there is protests going on across the world so
that the world can get educated on what is really going on.

Coherent Reason For Critical Thinking Essay
This book is pragmatical, not philosophical, a functional manual, not a treatise upon hypotheses. It is
planned for the men and ladies whose most squeezing need is for cash, who wish to get rich to start
with, and philosophize a short time later. It is for the individuals who have, up until this point,
discovered neither the time, the methods, nor the chance to go profoundly into the investigation of
power, however who need results and who will take the determinations of science as a reason for
activity, without going into every one of the procedures by which those conclusions were come to. It is
normal that the peruser will take the crucial proclamations upon confidence, similarly as he would
take explanations concerning a law of electrical activity in the event that they were proclaimed by a
Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the announcements upon confidence, that he will demonstrate their
reality by following up on them without dread or delay. Each man or lady who does this will
absolutely get rich; for the science thus connected is a correct science, and disappointment is
outlandish. For the advantage, nonetheless, of the individuals who wish to examine philosophical
speculations thus secure a coherent reason for confidence, I will here refer to specific experts. ... Show

The Dred Scott The United States Army
Dred Scott was of African descent and born in America. He was a slave in 1834. He belonged to Dr.
Emerson, a surgeon for the United States army. Scott and Dr. Emerson were originally located in
Missouri, a slave state. But, in the year 1834, Dr. Emersion took Scott to the Rock Island Military Post
in Illinois, a free state, where he worked for him as a slave. This continued until 1836, when Dr.
Emerson moved with Scott to Fort Snelling located in Upper Louisiana, a territory at the time
(http://www.pbs.org/wnet/supremecourt/antebellum/landmark_dred.html). Later, this territory would
enter the Union as a free state because of the Missouri Compromise (The Dred Scott Decision 2013).

(http://www.pbs.org/wnet/supremecourt/antebellum/landmark_dred.html). Just before the suit was
filed, Dr. Emerson sold Dred Scott, Harriet, and their two children to John F. A. Sandford. Sandford,
considering the Scott family his slaves, laid hands on them and imprisoned them many times
(http://www.pbs.org/wnet/supremecourt/antebellum/landmark_dred.html). These actions would be
considered legal if Harriet, Lizzie, Eliza, and Dred Scott were his slaves. Dred Scott wanted to
challenge this. Due to the Missouri Compromise, Illinois and the territory where Dr. Emerson had
taken Dred Scott and purchased Harriet, were free (Independence Hall Association 2013). Dred Scott
sued his owner, John Sandford, for assaulting himself, and his family. Scott openly admitted he was
born a slave and of African descent, but he also argued that once his owner took him and his family to
a free state and territory to exist in, his family became free from slavery. And since they were free
when Sandford moved them back to Missouri, Scott claimed it was illegal for Sandford to assault him
and his family. Scott also claimed he should be legally considered a citizen by the state. These are the
ideas on which Scott pursued to sue Sandford. His declaration specifically had three counts: that
Sandford assaulted Dred Scott that Sandford had assaulted Harriet,

The Role Of Zakah And The Muslim Arab Community.the System
THE ROLE OF ZAKAH(ALMS GIVING) IN POVERTY ALLEVIATION IN NIGERIA
BY
DR. MUSTAPHA ISA QASIM,
DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATION,
(ISLAMIC STUDIES SECTION)
AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA.
ABSTRACT
The main objective of Zakah(Alms giving) is to alleviate poverty in the Muslim community .The
system is specifically designed to take care of the needs of the poor and the needy from the Muslim
Ummah. In this paper, a close look at this vital role of Zakah is made, indicating that the present
economic hardship in the Muslim Ummah could be easily solved through the institution of Zakah. It
was practiced during the time of the Prophet (S.A.W.) and his Companions, and subsequently in the
period of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz. Therefore, the system of Zakah is strongly recommended to be used
for poverty alleviation in Nigerian Muslim communities.
Keyword: Role: Zakah: Poverty Alleviation: Nigeria
Introduction
Zakah is one of the five pillars of Islam. Muslims are obliged by the Shari`ah to take a portion of their
wealth and give to the poor as charity. This is called Zakah. It is designed to take care of the basic
economic needs of the poor people and alleviate the problem of poverty in society. Our society today
is pervaded with poverty, hunger and unemployment. The Government has failed in discharging its
responsibilities of providing basic employment for its citizens, many wealthy Muslims have refused to
take out Zakah from their wealth appropriately, and

Conception Of A Feral Child
A feral child is a child who has been in isolation from human contact from a very young age. They
have little or no experience of human care, behavior, or have little knowledge of human language.
This therefore hinders their development of human social skills. Some feral children have been
confined, a lot of times it would be by their own parents. In some cases, child abandonment occurs
due to the parents rejection of a child s severe intellectual or physical impairment. Feral children
experience a lot of things including: severe abuse or trauma before being abandoned or before they ran
away. Feral children are sometimes subjects of traditional art, myths and literature like the boy in the
Jungle Book story. In these stories they are portrayed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Nature Of Eto Trading Co Ltd V.
The nature of ETO in the context of business was effectively reconsidered in Thompson v. SCS
Consulting Ltd Ors [2001] EAT 34/00 with the emphasis for subsequent Employment Tribunals (ET)
to consider if the principle reason for dismissal was demonstrably linked to the survivability and
continuity of the business. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) affirmed the ET decision and the
necessity of reviewing any evidence suggesting collusion between transferor and transferee regarding
dismissals, together with consideration of the available funds for business continuation at time of the
dismissal. By way of commentary based on a number of EAT decisions, the actual findings were
dependent upon the timing so if occurring just prior to the transfer period, these were likely to be
judged directly associated with the transfer. Conversely the casual link is more challenging to prove if
the time delay was significant. To assist further analysis it is useful to consider Ibex Trading Co Ltd v.
Walton Others [1994] IRLR 564 EAT. In this case the employees were dismissed on the 16th October,
1991 with the effective date being the 4th November 1991, with the offer to purchase of the business
on the 11th November and completed on the 13th February 1992. The EAT reaffirmed the ET decision
that the dismissal was fair, as it was only connected with a possible transfer and not necessarily the
actual transfer, and therefore it had not contravened the meaning of Regulation 8(1). In this

Pros And Cons Of Alabama s Lottery System
Alabama is one of seven states that does not have a lottery system. Because of this, Alabama is
missing out on millions of dollars per year. In fact, lottery systems generated $65.5 billion dollars in
2012, twenty five of which goes directly to state funded projects (Isidore). That is an average of over a
billion and a half dollars in revenue per state per year. If Alabama did approve a lottery system, the
money it generated would go to education and healthcare. Alabama ranks forty fifth and forty sixth in
these two areas respectively out of fifty states.
Alabama does not have a lottery system because of religious reasons. Forming a lottery is actually
illegal in the constitution of three states: Utah, Mississippi, and Alabama. Article IV §65 of the
Alabama constitution states: The legislature shall have no power to authorize lotteries... This does not,

As mentioned before, Alabama s constitution outlaws the founding of a state lottery system or
gambling of any kind. Propositions of a lottery bill have been created many times in the past.
Originally these bills were shot down immediately and never even made it to be voted on. Recently,
however, these bills have become increasingly more popular. In 1999, a bill was created by then
governor Don Siegelman that did reach voting, and narrowly was turned down by a vote of 54 percent
to 46 percent. A lottery bill was not on the 2016 ballot, but could be on the 2017 ballot. Governor
Robert Bentley, who had previously been strongly opposed to a lottery bill, has seemed to have had a
change of heart, saying the only way that the state can gain the much needed money for Medicaid
would be through a state lottery program. With the Governor s support now, a lottery bill could be on
the ballot as soon as next year, which means that the lottery system could be implemented by spring of

Man s Search For Meaning Essay
I am going to guess that the reader of this essay is not a holocaust survivor. I can almost guarantee it.
Although you re not a survivor of one of the most horrific events in history, it does not mean you will
have no feelings about it if you were to hear some stories. I call them stories because most books
written of such detail are mere personal experiences and not factual, historical information. Speaking
of personal experiences, I took the time to read a book about a man named Viktor Emil Frankl (26
March 1905 2 September 1997).¹ He was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a
Holocaust survivor. The book is called Man s Search for Meaning , and I find it to be a truthful

Frankl trusted that in spite of the fact that the Nazi s could force much suffering on him, could rid of
his family, and could detain him, they could not choose how he was. He had control over the way he
would act, respond, and carry on. Regardless of what they did, he would choose his conduct and be in
charge of it. My aim is neither to abridge the book for you, nor to clarify the ideas of existential
treatment, so I will move here to my evaluation and reaction to Frankl s book. To start with, I need to
repeat that this book is a superb read. For anybody new to the outrages of a death camp, the tale of
human triumph even with such barbarities alone is justified regardless of the read. It also gives a rule
to engage people to take liability for their life, and to make importance in it. It gives a model of living
over the impact of condition. The initial stage is portrayed by the indication of shock. Frankl speaks of
his entry via train at the notorious Auschwitz, when he and his kindred detainees underlying stun and
frightfulness rapidly offered a path to the condition known as the delusion of reprieve , the conviction
that they would be spared at last, that things couldn t be as horrendous as they appeared. Frankl
portrays how, not for the last time, he sat tight for destiny to follow through to its logical end as the
detainees proceeded remaining before a SS officer who coolly guided them toward the right, which
implied they looked physically and

another level, shaping people s minds of what an ideal computer should be. Their ways of operations,
advertising, and growing have been really effective throughout the years. I would suggest that they put
up more Apple stores, because Apple products are very much in demand in the Philippines. It s
expensive to build an Apple store, but they will break even with time. especially the colonial mentality

Transportation sector contributes to a considerable share of energy consumption and Greenhouse Gas
(GHG) emissions worldwide. In 2015, 50% of world oil consumption was consumed for road
transportation [1]. In 2014, 35% of energy was used in the transportation sector (21% of world energy
consumption was used in passenger cars) [1]. In 2010, about 14% of worldwide GHG emissions was

This is a notable point especially for countries that have a high percent of emission free electricity
generation capacity and can use that emission free electricity to provide the energy needed in the
transportation sector. To cut CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050 (as decided by G8 leaders and the
European Union in 2009), a 95% carbon emission reduction should happen in transport sector [6].
However, based on the expected number of passenger cars by 2050 and knowing the emissions and
efficiency of ICEVs, the reduction target for transportation sector cannot be achieved through an
increase in efficiency of ICEVs alone [6]. Knowing this limit, different countries/jurisdictions all over
the world have invested in alternative fuel vehicles. As defined by the US Department of Energy, an
alternative fuel vehicle is a dedicated, flexible fuel, or dual fuel vehicle designed to operate on at least
one alternative fuel [8]. Biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, hydrogen, natural gas, or propane are
considered as alternative fuels in this definition [8]. In this work, we are focusing on reviewing the
incentives for vehicles that operate on hydrogen and electricity as an alternative fuel. We are not
considering biodiesel and ethanol as there is uncertainty about the capability of biofuels to fuel the
transportation sector at large scale [6]. We

How Does Napoleon Use Language In Animal Farm

was right indeed, they always found themselves in agreement with the one who was speaking at the

Mrs. Dalloway
I. Mrs. Dalloway, by Virginia Woolf, was published on May 14, 1925 in London, England. The novel
follows Clarissa Dalloway and a variety of other characters throughout the span of one day in their
lives in 1923 London. Woolf utilizes a narrative method of writing. With the novel s structure, the
narrator possesses the ability to move inside of a character s mind and compose her thoughts and
emotions immediately as events occur throughout the day. The novel s main character, Clarissa, is a
middle aged woman who belongs to the upper middle class in society and is well married to a Member

Rather than hold lengthy conversations between characters, she frequently writes only of small talk
and leaves more serious topics to be recited in an individual s exclusive thoughts. One of her purposes
in writing the novel is to expose the hypocrisy of society. The characters in the novel range from
eccentric acquaintances to extravagant lords and ladies to vindictive tutors to suicidal veterans. One
example of this theme occurs when Rezia and Septimus attempt to settle down in the park. When the
airplane soars overhead, she writes, Tears ran down his cheeks (Woolf 21). While one may mistake
this as joy or, at worst, sorrow over the recent war, Woolf gives the reality of the action beneath the
surface, stating, They are signaling to me... this exquisite beauty... but he would not go mad. He would
see no more (21). While Septimus dwindles on the brink of insanity, Rezia chatters away about nature,
unaware of the mess resting beside her. Septimus portrays the appearance of one man yet expresses an
entirely new persona through his contemplations. Another instance of the theme transpires when Miss
Kilman and Clarissa wait for Elizabeth to retrieve her gloves before going shopping. Clarissa and
Kilman both make attempts at small talk. However, both give their attentions to a mutual disgust of
each other. Clarissa simply asks if Kilman is taking Elizabeth to the stores. Kilman replies dryly, but

The studio that did the redubbing of a lot Margaret s lines failed spectacularly. Even just in the
beginning of the film the audio is not synced correctly there are a few milliseconds of difference in
how Margaret lips move and what she says. This wouldn t be that big of an issue if David only had her
re dub a few lines here and there. But it seemed like about a 1/3 of the film had been redubbed. Which
was extremely jarring switching from this dubbed audio to the original, and speaking of that why wasn
t the dubbed audio properly mixed with the unrubbed audio. David could have made it about ten times
less jarring if they had mixed the audio correctly. The second major flaw of the film would be
Margaret s acting. I know that David was probably trying to make her seem like she was cold and
disconnected from the world. But in reality the acting is so wooden and stiff nothing gets through. The
bad thing is there are far better example of characters being disconnected and cold to the world. But
that doesn t mean that the actors have to be robots reading lines monotonely off of the script.
But overall House of Games, with its few minor flaws like dubbing and a few acting issues. It is a film
that will make audiences think. It will make them wonder who is who coning who? While keeping

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Over Extending
Over Stretching:
Something a great many people don t consider is the idea of over extending. When you extend gently,
ligaments and muscles are pulled and may unwind to give a touch of, enhancing the scope of
movement somewhat.
Be that as it may, on the off chance that you attempt to extend excessively, too far, or too hard you will
really bring about little tears and tears in the muscles and ligaments that you are extending.
These tears are seldom perpetual; be that as it may, they will leave the muscle or ligament to be

Our objective here is not to hurt ourselves, but rather to put our body into a framework where it should

The Pros And Cons Of Public Administration
Cohen s theory is centered around the difficulties faced in the administration of public good and the
delivery of services to the general population. He examines the best devices for use in taking care of
the issue that arises. His position also infers the need to utilize gifted open administrators that will be
compelling in their assignments through innovativeness and development. These new thoughts are
designed to take care of the issue with the administration in the twentieth century. Alternate attributes
laid out by Cohen for people in general directors are the capacity to think basically and shape
occasions. The motivation behind why Cohen incorporates this contention is that in the contemporary
past, open administrators have been liable to the occasions happening around the general population
comforts. They have not possessed the capacity to fight these occasions and in the most cases,
occasions tend to assume control over the control. He likewise contends that the picture of the general
population administrators is portrayed on their ability. Cohen closes contentions by the certainty of
general society supervisors and how it is vital in taking care of the issues that they face in their
exercises. Cohen bases this contention with the Vietnam War (Cohen, 2013). The friendly
administration is the primary part of any legislature. The skill of an administration can be utilized as a
measure to evaluate how robust the legislature is in broad daylight administration issues.

negative effects of smoking will far exceed the positive.
Smoking reduces the stress in your life.
Although it is proven that smoking calms you down for the short period you are smoking that
cigarette, in the long run, smoking can be the cause of many stressful issues. Smokers will be stressed
when they end up in a hospital fighting any number of smoking related problems like lung cancer and
emphysema. Smokers will be stressed when they get the expensive medical bill. They might not have
the money to pay this bill because of all the money that they have wasted on cigarettes. If a person
smokes a pack of cigarettes every day for one year, it will cost them nearly $1300 a year. So if you are
a lifetime smoker of 30 years, you have probably given the tobacco companies $39,000(Action on

Stopping smoking can be a health hazard.

Political Back Channels
This article discusses the role of political back channels in the siting of social service facilities, with a
focus on group homes, arguing that the political back channels impair social services ability to place
facilities in neighbourhoods outside of very low income areas. The authors argue their theory by using
a case study composed of interviews, media analysis, and a spatial analysis of the city of Worcester.
The article relates to other literature such as Jennifer Wolch and Michael Dear s works on back

The Effects Of Heavy Metal Decontamination Of Sluil
Heavy metal contamination of soils has received considerable attention in the contemporary science.
Application of biological processes for decontaminating the contaminated/polluted sites is a
challenging task because heavy metals cannot be degraded and hence persist in the soil (Kidd et al.,

The female reproductive system is composed of the breasts...
The female reproductive system is composed of the breasts and a number of systems in the lower
torso. The ovaries are where a number of crucial things happen. The ovaries are two identical glands
that are almond shaped, about one inch in length and located in the pelvic cavity. The ovaries produce
the primary female hormones, estrogen and progesterone. As well, the ovaries produce the female
gamete or egg. All the rest if the organs related too reproduction are all centred around the eggs that
the ovaries produce. Ligaments help support the ovaries and keep them in place relative to the uterus
and pelvis. Inside the ovaries there are follicles in which eggs have the potential to develop. Those

Outwardly the menstrual cycle is demonstrated by bleeding which lasts three to seven days. Two
different hormones (luteinizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone), which are produced in the
pituitary gland are what then stimulate the ovaries to produce estrogen and progesterone. The
menstrual cycle can be broken down into three main phases.
After puberty every month one egg in one of the two ovaries matures and is then sent out to the
fallopian tubes. There are two fallopian tubes, one connected to each ovary. The fallopian tubes meet
in the middle in a structure called the uterus. Each month when the egg is released from the ovaries,
which is called ovulation, hair like projections in the fallopian tubes help push the egg along the tube
to its destination. The fallopian tubes are not directly connected to the ovaries so when an egg is
released it is caught by a fimbria, which facilitates getting the egg from the ovaries to the fallopian
tubes. The egg is also pushed along the fallopian tubes by contractions in conduction with the cilia (3).
The uterus cavity varies on size depending on whether the female has given birth before or not, but the
size of a uterus for a woman who has never given birth is about the size of a pear. The uterus is located
behind the bladder and in front of the bowel, the uterus is situated at an angle that varies depending on

Use Of Mobile Phones In School
Oh my gosh! I think I am about to die! I just found out that some schools do not allow students to
have cell phones in school. Modern cell phones are capable of much more than sending text messages
in class, now they are capable of calling someone in case of an emergency. If someone is in need of
help and no one has a cell phone, there is no way anyone could get them help, if someone is bleeding a
lot more than likely they would die if no one calls the emergency center. There is an average of ninety
four percent of students who goof around and play on their cell phones during class or school hours,
that is only six percent of students who could manage to not play on their cell phones until the end of
the day. If someone would like to see if they could manage to get through the day without using a cell
phone, they could try the no cell phone for a day challenge. The no cell phone for a day challenge is

The Relevance of Fair Use Doctrine in the Digital World
Abstract. Different proposals have been made to restrict the fair use exception in a digital context.
Digitization provides tools to detect private digital copying of a protected work and to limit it. This
may allow title holders to prevent practices that have been important for educational and scholarly
purposes. Given the power conferred by the technology, fair use exceptions established by the law
may become inapplicable and substantially affect access to information, particularly in developing
countries. The protection of databases, as established or proposed in some jurisdictions, may
aggravate this problem. The development of new principles for the application in this context of fair
use needs to be considered, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For that reason, the fair use doctrine consistently creates difficult issues for you and your clients. It is
ironic, then, that fair use is the copyright issue most likely to confront an average copyright user. Fair
use issues arise in a wide variety of everyday contexts, including the classroom, the boardroom, the
record industry, the theater, and the movie industry. Typical fair use conflicts likely to arise in practice
include: copying for educational purposes both in the classroom and the boardroom ; quoting from
copyrighted sources in reporting, reviews, and scholarly research ; uploading or downloading
copyrighted material to or from a website; sampling copyrighted material in sound recordings or
including copyrighted material as scenery in a motion picture or theater set; and use of copyrighted
material in a parody. 3. Basis of the fair use doctrine The fair use doctrine creates a limited privilege in
those other than the owner of a copyright to use the copyrighted material in a reasonable manner
without the owner s consent. It permits unauthorized uses that otherwise would constitute
infringement but are deemed noninfringing because they advance the underlying constitutional
purpose of copyright law: to promote broad public availability of literature, music, and other forms of
creative arts. The constitutional principle

The skill sets, organizational hierarchies, reward systems and employment structures pertinent to the

Cultural Industries (sometimes also known as creative industries ) combine the creation, production,
and distribution of goods and services that are cultural in nature and usually protected by intellectual

(Lawrence and Philip 2002). David Beckham currently has his own Police sunglasses that people buy
as they are associated with him. For marketers this seems appropriate to their beliefs that with the
correct marketing mix a meaning can be put across to the target market that will increase sales. This
argument tries to get across that creative industries are not just restricted to film industry, fashion or
theatre. This approach does also have its critics though, Thompson et al (2007) says that even if these
products are sold through direct or indirect interpretations it fails to recognize these products still need
to be produced. Take for example the Adidas running shoe that came back as a premium priced retro
shoe that is now fashionable. However it does not appreciate that the product still had to be made by
real workers in real factories, they still need traditional skill sets and employment structures. People at
Adidas did have the creative freedom to think of the new retro comeback but this is a very small part
of the company. So yes creative economies are expanding but not at a fast enough rate to be a leading
economy in any way.
So it is clear that we do not have a significant cultural economy as a product needs to be

  • 2. Animals Vs Animals Circuses are loved all around the world, the audience loves seeing the animals do all the crazy tricks. What they do not know is that circuses are treating their animals terribly. Protestors are a voice for the animals. The animals can not say what is on their minds, so the protests are doing it for them. They have been trying to get animals out of the circuses The way animals act in the wild and circuses are two completely different things. Protests have been going around all across the world to stop having animals in the circus. Even though circus protestors have been arounds for years, one event that was striking to everyone was, in 2009 whistleblower Sam Haddock was shared photos of how a baby elephant was trained with the circus. What these photos showed were acts of animal abuse; using sharp metal tools to get them to do poses and tying them up their limbs and trunks. In an article written by Compassion Works International it stats, The circus lied to us form the time we were small, causing us to think that whipping tigers or making elephants stand on their heads is normal , when those activities are anything but normal (Compassion Works International). The audience does not see what it s like behind the scenes, that is why there is protests going on across the world so that the world can get educated on what is really going on. ... • 3. Coherent Reason For Critical Thinking Essay This book is pragmatical, not philosophical, a functional manual, not a treatise upon hypotheses. It is planned for the men and ladies whose most squeezing need is for cash, who wish to get rich to start with, and philosophize a short time later. It is for the individuals who have, up until this point, discovered neither the time, the methods, nor the chance to go profoundly into the investigation of power, however who need results and who will take the determinations of science as a reason for activity, without going into every one of the procedures by which those conclusions were come to. It is normal that the peruser will take the crucial proclamations upon confidence, similarly as he would take explanations concerning a law of electrical activity in the event that they were proclaimed by a Marconi or an Edison; and, taking the announcements upon confidence, that he will demonstrate their reality by following up on them without dread or delay. Each man or lady who does this will absolutely get rich; for the science thus connected is a correct science, and disappointment is outlandish. For the advantage, nonetheless, of the individuals who wish to examine philosophical speculations thus secure a coherent reason for confidence, I will here refer to specific experts. ... • 5. The Dred Scott The United States Army Dred Scott was of African descent and born in America. He was a slave in 1834. He belonged to Dr. Emerson, a surgeon for the United States army. Scott and Dr. Emerson were originally located in Missouri, a slave state. But, in the year 1834, Dr. Emersion took Scott to the Rock Island Military Post in Illinois, a free state, where he worked for him as a slave. This continued until 1836, when Dr. Emerson moved with Scott to Fort Snelling located in Upper Louisiana, a territory at the time (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/supremecourt/antebellum/landmark_dred.html). Later, this territory would enter the Union as a free state because of the Missouri Compromise (The Dred Scott Decision 2013). While this was happening, Harriet, the eventual wife of Dred ... Just before the suit was filed, Dr. Emerson sold Dred Scott, Harriet, and their two children to John F. A. Sandford. Sandford, considering the Scott family his slaves, laid hands on them and imprisoned them many times (http://www.pbs.org/wnet/supremecourt/antebellum/landmark_dred.html). These actions would be considered legal if Harriet, Lizzie, Eliza, and Dred Scott were his slaves. Dred Scott wanted to challenge this. Due to the Missouri Compromise, Illinois and the territory where Dr. Emerson had taken Dred Scott and purchased Harriet, were free (Independence Hall Association 2013). Dred Scott sued his owner, John Sandford, for assaulting himself, and his family. Scott openly admitted he was born a slave and of African descent, but he also argued that once his owner took him and his family to a free state and territory to exist in, his family became free from slavery. And since they were free when Sandford moved them back to Missouri, Scott claimed it was illegal for Sandford to assault him and his family. Scott also claimed he should be legally considered a citizen by the state. These are the ideas on which Scott pursued to sue Sandford. MUSTAPHA ISA QASIM, DEPARTMENT OF ARTS AND SOCIAL SCIENCE EDUCATION, (ISLAMIC STUDIES SECTION) AHMADU BELLO UNIVERSITY, ZARIA. ABSTRACT The main objective of Zakah(Alms giving) is to alleviate poverty in the Muslim community .The system is specifically designed to take care of the needs of the poor and the needy from the Muslim Ummah. In this paper, a close look at this vital role of Zakah is made, indicating that the present economic hardship in the Muslim Ummah could be easily solved through the institution of Zakah. It was practiced during the time of the Prophet (S.A.W.) and his Companions, and subsequently in the period of Umar ibn Abdul Aziz. Therefore, the system of Zakah is strongly recommended to be used for poverty alleviation in Nigerian Muslim communities. • 8. The Nature Of Eto Trading Co Ltd V. The nature of ETO in the context of business was effectively reconsidered in Thompson v. SCS Consulting Ltd Ors [2001] EAT 34/00 with the emphasis for subsequent Employment Tribunals (ET) to consider if the principle reason for dismissal was demonstrably linked to the survivability and continuity of the business. The Employment Appeal Tribunal (EAT) affirmed the ET decision and the necessity of reviewing any evidence suggesting collusion between transferor and transferee regarding dismissals, together with consideration of the available funds for business continuation at time of the dismissal. By way of commentary based on a number of EAT decisions, the actual findings were dependent upon the timing so if occurring just prior to the transfer period, these were likely to be judged directly associated with the transfer. Conversely the casual link is more challenging to prove if the time delay was significant. To assist further analysis it is useful to consider Ibex Trading Co Ltd v. Walton Others [1994] IRLR 564 EAT. In this case the employees were dismissed on the 16th October, 1991 with the effective date being the 4th November 1991, with the offer to purchase of the business on the 11th November and completed on the 13th February 1992. The EAT reaffirmed the ET decision that the dismissal was fair, as it was only connected with a possible transfer and not necessarily the actual transfer, and therefore it had not contravened the meaning of Regulation 8(1). In fact, lottery systems generated $65.5 billion dollars in 2012, twenty five of which goes directly to state funded projects (Isidore). That is an average of over a billion and a half dollars in revenue per state per year. If Alabama did approve a lottery system, the money it generated would go to education and healthcare. Alabama ranks forty fifth and forty sixth in these two areas respectively out of fifty states. Alabama does not have a lottery system because of religious reasons. As mentioned before, Alabama s constitution outlaws the founding of a state lottery system or gambling of any kind. Propositions of a lottery bill have been created many times in the past. In 1999, a bill was created by then governor Don Siegelman that did reach voting, and narrowly was turned down by a vote of 54 percent to 46 percent. A lottery bill was not on the 2016 ballot, but could be on the 2017 ballot. Governor Robert Bentley, who had previously been strongly opposed to a lottery bill, has seemed to have had a change of heart, saying the only way that the state can gain the much needed money for Medicaid would be through a state lottery program. Although you re not a survivor of one of the most horrific events in history, it does not mean you will have no feelings about it if you were to hear some stories. I call them stories because most books written of such detail are mere personal experiences and not factual, historical information. Speaking of personal experiences, I took the time to read a book about a man named Viktor Emil Frankl (26 March 1905 2 September 1997).¹ He was an Austrian neurologist and psychiatrist as well as a Holocaust survivor. He had control over the way he would act, respond, and carry on. Regardless of what they did, he would choose his conduct and be in charge of it. My aim is neither to abridge the book for you, nor to clarify the ideas of existential treatment, so I will move here to my evaluation and reaction to Frankl s book. To start with, I need to repeat that this book is a superb read. For anybody new to the outrages of a death camp, the tale of human triumph even with such barbarities alone is justified regardless of the read. It also gives a rule to engage people to take liability for their life, and to make importance in it. It gives a model of living over the impact of condition. The initial stage is portrayed by the indication of shock. Frankl speaks of his entry via train at the notorious Auschwitz, when he and his kindred detainees underlying stun and frightfulness rapidly offered a path to the condition known as the delusion of reprieve , the conviction that they would be spared at last, that things couldn t be as horrendous as they appeared. Frankl portrays how, not for the last time, he sat tight for destiny to follow through to its logical end as the detainees proceeded remaining before a SS officer who coolly guided them toward the right, which implied they looked physically and ... This just comes to show that Apple has really gone to another level, shaping people s minds of what an ideal computer should be. Their ways of operations, advertising, and growing have been really effective throughout the years. I would suggest that they put up more Apple stores, because Apple products are very much in demand in the Philippines. However, based on the expected number of passenger cars by 2050 and knowing the emissions and efficiency of ICEVs, the reduction target for transportation sector cannot be achieved through an increase in efficiency of ICEVs alone [6]. Knowing this limit, different countries/jurisdictions all over the world have invested in alternative fuel vehicles. As defined by the US Department of Energy, an alternative fuel vehicle is a dedicated, flexible fuel, or dual fuel vehicle designed to operate on at least one alternative fuel [8]. Biodiesel, electricity, ethanol, hydrogen, natural gas, or propane are considered as alternative fuels in this definition [8]. One example of this theme occurs when Rezia and Septimus attempt to settle down in the park. When the airplane soars overhead, she writes, Tears ran down his cheeks (Woolf 21). Digitization provides tools to detect private digital copying of a protected work and to limit it. This may allow title holders to prevent practices that have been important for educational and scholarly purposes. Given the power conferred by the technology, fair use exceptions established by the law may become inapplicable and substantially affect access to information, particularly in developing countries. The protection of databases, as established or proposed in some jurisdictions, may aggravate this problem. The development of new principles for the application in this context of fair use needs to be considered, including ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In recent years the creative industry has become an obsession with journalists therefore gaining a lot of attention. David Beckham currently has his own Police sunglasses that people buy as they are associated with him. For marketers this seems appropriate to their beliefs that with the correct marketing mix a meaning can be put across to the target market that will increase sales. This argument tries to get across that creative industries are not just restricted to film industry, fashion or theatre. This approach does also have its critics though, Thompson et al (2007) says that even if these products are sold through direct or indirect interpretations it fails to recognize these products still need to be produced. Take for example the Adidas running shoe that came back as a premium priced retro shoe that is now fashionable. However it does not appreciate that the product still had to be made by real workers in real factories, they still need traditional skill sets and employment structures. People at Adidas did have the creative freedom to think of the new retro comeback but this is a very small part of the company. So yes creative economies are expanding but not at a fast enough rate to be a leading economy in any way. So it is clear that we do not have a significant cultural economy as a product needs to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
