Inequality In Europe
Income inequality in the European Union (EU) has barely changed for a number of years. Neither improvements like those before 2009 nor a substantial worsening have been observed. However, this applies only to relative inequality. If one looks at the absolute differences between the highest and the lowest incomes, however, an alarming increase in inequality is to be observed in Europe.
The EU’s largest economy, Germany, has managed to find an effective and unique combination of flexibility and rigidity in its labor market. Institutions that typically characterize rigid labor markets are effectively balanced by flexibility instruments. Important developments since 2000 include steadily decreasing unemployment rates (since 2005), increasing participation rates, and (since 2011) moderately increasing labor compensation. The German labor market has also been remarkably robust to the impacts of the Great Recession, thus providing a useful case study for other developed countries.
The 2014/15 edition examines the link between wages and inequality at the household level. It shows that wages constitute the largest single source of income for households with at least one member of working age in most countries and points to changes in wages and paid employment as key factors underlying recent trends in inequality. The report also considers wage gaps between certain groups, such as those between women and men, migrants and nationals, and workers in the informal and formal economy.
Inequality can be addressed through policies that affect wage distribution directly or indirectly, as well as through fiscal redistribution. However, increasing inequality in the labour market places a heavier burden on efforts to reduce inequality through taxes and transfers. The report thus emphasizes the need for combined policy action that includes minimum wages, strengthened collective bargaining, interventions to eliminate wage gaps, the promotion of paid employment and redistribution through taxes and transfers.

Europe needs social democracy!
Why do we really want Europe? Can we demonstrate to European citizens the opportunities
offered by social politics and a strong social democracy in Europe? This is the aim of the new
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung project »Politics for Europe«. It shows that European integration can
be done in a democratic, economic and socially balanced way and with a reliable foreign policy.
The following issues will be particularly important:
– Democratic Europe
– Economic and social policy in Europe
– Foreign and security policy in Europe

This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

Kentriki Makedonia (8.9

The age group of 55 to 64
years reaches a low
participation rate at the
labour market in relation to
younger age groups.
In Tübingen the employment
rate of the 55+ has grown a
lot due to demographic
effects (shrinking cohorts
since 2002 due to WWII-
effects on birth rates in
Germany) and the strong
growth of part-time work and
low-paid jobs for mature-age
persons in Germany.
In the other regions the

reduction of public budgets
(Greece, Spain) result in the
increase or in the reduction

Greek regions.
The País Vasco had a
turnover of the strong rising

on a high level (10,5 % in

In Emilia-Romagna and

11. Even if the effects are regionally very different, all regions struggle to remain competitive
in the strains of the crisis.
In general the recession and the economic crisis are the dominant factors defining the
future of all public and private organizations.
The effects of the recession are (in some regions) high unemployment for all age groups
including the 55+ years, poverty, halting of all investments, minimization of private
consumption etc.
Companies “struggle to survive” due to the world crisis
Uncertainty of development of general conditions (economy, social schemes, transition of
