Impact of Vibration on a Computer Network Using Optical Fibre CablesPremier Publishers
This study was carried out to validate the negative impact of vibration on a computer network using optical fibre cables where the optical time–domain reflectometer (OTDR) of single mode configuration was employed to acquire signal losses on the network. The losses were categorized in three data sets such as that from a non–vibration (NV), a vibration source from a shaker and generator (SHG) and another source combining the shaker, generator, and a truck (SHGT). The impact of these results were compared on a column and area graph where we obtained a superimposed effect combining all data sets in the area graph that the vibration sources from SHGT had greater impact on the network as their reflected losses were -33.31dB, -33.29dB, and -33.34dB respectively for NV, SHG, and SHGT. The results further confirmed that signal losses on the network has a direct relationship with distance and also, vibration can as well help to normalize errors arising from poorly terminated cables and correct some splice faults as number of events an OTDR records are limited. This study also confirmed the possible use of this system to investigate underground movements likely to be earthquakes or road failure signs.

Microstrip patch antenna with metamaterial using superstrate technique for wi...journalBEEI
This work builds a metamaterial (MTM) superstrate loaded on a patch of microstrip antenna for wireless communications. The MTM superstrate is made up of four G-shaped resonators on FR-4 substrate with a relative permittivity of 4.4 and has a total area of (8×16) mm2, and is higher than the patch. The MTM superstrate increases antenna gain while also raising the input reflection coefficient. When it is 9 mm above the patch, the gain increased from 3.28 dB to 6.02 dB, and when it is 7 mm above the patch, the input reflection coefficient was enhanced from -31.217 dB to -45.8 dB. When the MTM superstrate loaded antenna was compared to the traditional unloaded antenna, it was discovered that metamaterials have a lot of potential for improving antenna performance.
This presentation presents an overview of fiber optic sensor technology ,basic classifications of optic sensors, the basic functions of optical fiber sensors and also discusses the two important fiber optic sensors , namely the Mach - Zehnder interferometric fiber sensor and the fiber optic gyroscope.

Beam-Repositioning System using Microstrip Patch Antenna Array for Wireless A...Arun Murugan
Design and experimental analysis of beam repositioning system in microstrip patch antenna array using dumbbell shaped Defected Ground Structure (DGS) for Wireless application (2.4 GHz) was carried out in this study. For the practical application of this study phase shifters are used to control the relative position of the main-lobe direction. DGS has characteristics of disturbing current distribution which leads to phase variation. In our antenna, these dumbbell shaped DGS are engraved at different positions over the ground plane to achieve phase shifting of main-beam. The parameters of antenna such as gain reflection co-efficient, bandwidth are determined and compared with the antenna without DGS. Every position at which the dumbbell shaped DGS was placed, the radiation pattern was measured and compared among them. Further, it’s also observed that simulated antenna with DGS has the Bluetooth application in ISM short-range band.

Metamaterial loaded microstrip patch antenna for quad band operationeSAT Journals
Abstract In this paper, a novel design for miniaturization of microstrip patch antenna with multiband operation of microstrip antenna is proposed. The technique is based on etching out of Complimentary Split-Ring Resonator (CSRR) on the radiating edge of the patch antenna. Numerical simulations are presented for a patch antenna with and without CSRRs by using IE3D simulation software and measured practically. The measured results shows that antenna with CSRRs on the radiating edge of the patch antenna is resonating at four different frequency points i.e., 4.96GHz, 6.05GHz, 8.62GHz and 11.25GHz., whereas, antenna without CSRR i.e., conventional microstrip antenna is resonating at 5.98GHz. The size reduction of 16.92% is achieved and the antenna gives the overall bandwidth of 17.88%. These antennas find application in Wireless Communications. Keywords: microstrip antenna, CSRR, return loss, miniaturization, bandwidth.

Visible light communication is a high-speed developing technique with LEDs for both lighting and data communication. In this paper, examined the visible light communication performance over Mach Zehnder Modulation via Optisystem simulation tool. Quality factor and BER values of different link distance are predicted by optisystem simulation tool. The planned system can support 5 Gbps data rate up to 50 meter of link distance with a Quality factor of 15.71 for without any external noise interruption. In the case of external noise influence, the planned VLC system performance is also investigated through simulation tool. Consider the external noise interruption, the designed system can support 2Gbps data rate up to 20-meter link distance of Quality factor of 11.935. Quality factor for the system without any external noise influence is better compared to the system with external noise influence.

Hybrid optimization of pumped hydro system and solar- Engr. Abdul-Azeez.pdffxintegritypublishin
Advancements in technology unveil a myriad of electrical and electronic breakthroughs geared towards efficiently harnessing limited resources to meet human energy demands. The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.
