Narrative Essay Misha
I had woken up one cold winter morning, with the light in my eyes like a jackboots flashlight glaring
down at me, and the dreadful smell of the horse stable. Looking over to where Misha had slept, I had
expected him to be sound asleep, but Misha wasn t there. I figured that Misha was out surprising
shops owners and stealing their food, for whoever he visited in his spare time.
Stiffly, I stood up and walked out of the stable to go for a quick pickle run. I had gotten two bitter,
green, delicious pickles. As I walked the sidewalks of Warsaw, I ate the pickles, with the juice running
down my face like little streams. As I was finishing off my last pickle, I saw a local baker selling his
bread. It looked crispy, freshly made, and delicious. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I knocked on the big, brown door that had a few snowflakes on it, Doctor Korczak looked out the
door. Well hello there Uri! Why I didn t expect you here! He said with a chuckle.
I held up the loaves of bread, with the morning light shining on the bags and he greeted me inside,
opening the door wider. I gladly went into the building with the large mossy, brick walls, and the light
flooded windows. I started to wonder where Misha was. I set the loaves down on one of the large
tables in the orphanage.
Doctor Korczak sat down in a chair and I sat across from him. I asked him in a whisper like voice so
that I couldn t be heard, Do the orphans ever go out alone?
No, I go out with them, mainly because they ask, and I m worried for the Poleish jerks in Warsaw! He
said growing serious, Why?
Well I haven t seen Misha all day and I know I let him go out alone, but I just was wondering if you
had seen him. I said, realizing it was almost noon. I am usually never worried but Misha has gotten
into some trouble lately. Especially when his ear was shot off.
Well that is very strange. said Doctor Korczak, Misha is actually right up stairs sound

Reichstag Fire Dbq
In this CourseWork, the Reichstag Fire 1933 will be compared to the various events that influenced
Hitler s consolidation of power. This will be done by investigating which event was more significant
and influential to Hitler and the Nazi Party. The Reichstag Fire affected and helped Hitler concrete an
extremely strong argument to imprison Communist, resulting in a tremendous advantage at elections
in March 1933. On the other hand, the Munich Putsch made Hitler realise that to conquer power he
would have to wait, and conquer everything democratically, and the perfect time to launch his plan
was during the Great Depression, if this events were not subsequent, Hitler may had not consolidated
his powers. Nonetheless, Hitler becoming Chancellor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Enabling Act was signed by President Hindenburg on March 23rd 1933, giving Hitler the power
to establish new laws without going through the Reichstag for exactly four years. Hitler was
demanding this right, as in previous speeches he promoted speeches that stated that with this
amendment he would be able to reconstruct and reformulate Germany, whiles leading the country. The
Enabling Act can be seen as pivotal as it granted the Nazi Party a very strong protection against any
threat. The main fear, was the threat of other parties attacking the Nazis, as this actions were
extremely unpredictable, as the Enabling act allowed Hitler to pass laws simply by Hitler s signature.
This not only meant a tremendous power above citizens as it allowed the Nazis to pass laws very
quickly, which were extremely beneficial in times of crisis. This would also create a very strong image
of the Nazis, as they would be able to be in control of everything efficiently giving an immense
support from the public. Furthermore, the Act made Nazi s action most importantly legal and
legitimate, meaning that Hitler could manipulate everything with no legal

The Multi-Store Model
Multi store model and the working memory theories show how the brain receives and transfers
information. A neurons are nerve cell that are building blocks for the nervous system. Which
specialized in transmitting information in the form of a stimulus throughout the body and brain in a
chemical or electrical form that the brain can handle and then store the information in the brain
system.
Multi store model of memory
Literature review 450 Words
Richard Atkinson and Richard Shiffrin were the first two to reveal how the human memory works in
1982, and they design the multi store model. According to them both information is stream through
the memory system then separated into a set of stages for the information to be stored. The three
stages of process for the memory are sensory memory, short term memory and long term memory.
Each stage of the process, there are limitations in the terms of capacity, duration and encoding.
For sensory memory input which comes from the five traditional senses that are sight, hearing, taste,

To test this idea they plan the double task technique. Double task techniques participants were asked
to carry out a primary task whilst alongside engaging in a secondary task at the same time to challenge
the concept of a single store system for short term memories and suggested that there are four separate
department to our working memory in short term memory. Which are the central executive,
phonological loop, visuo spatial sketchpad and episodic buffer. The central executive controls the
three features and holds no information, just distributes information. As for phonological loop consists
of two separate stores department which are the phonological store that processes the words we hear
and the articulatory control process which processes written words, so it called a loop because it
continuously loops words and these are the four features of the working

The Samurai s Life During The Tokugawa Period
The Samurai were the medieval warriors of Japan and were usually called bushi or buke (Matt
Williams, Unknown) but only 10% or less of Japan s population was able to become a Bushi.
Although this may sound quite desirable, it managed to improve for Buke when the Tokugawa period
came. Their lifestyle changed for the better and they didn t have to worry about death, while still
retaining the same position on the hierarchy pyramid. Because of this being a samurai knight in the
Tokugawa Period was desirable.
The Samurai s lifestyle changed a lot when the Tokugawa Period came, as this was when civil peace
occurred throughout Feudal Japan. (Columbia University, 2009) This meant that there was no longer a
need for the samurai to fight. With their fighting role diminished the samurai took on the roles of
scholars and advisors. (Red Apple Education, 2013) This ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the changes for the Bushi was that they were fortunate enough that they didn t have to worry
about death through fighting and wars anymore, however they still had to uphold the same respect that
they had for the daimyo. In some cases the samurai even managed to move up in hierarchy pyramid by
becoming courtiers. Courtiers are the people who go with the emperor to court they also move up to
become bureaucrats and administrators. (Oxford University Press, 2014) They still retained respect
within the public of an honourable position in the feudal system. The samurai still had the right to use
a range of weapons such as bows and arrows and spears but their main weapon and symbol was still
the sword. (See Appendix 1) (Japan Guide, 2014) They also still had the rights to kill anyone to
disrespect them as long as they were of a lower social status. This killing could still be done to keep

The Cure For Anything Is Salt Water
As Isak Dinesen famously states in Seven Gothic Tales, The cure for anything is salt water tears,
sweat, or the sea. Paradoxically, since the days of ancient creation epics, the sea has been a symbol of
chaos and danger; clearly, water takes on these characteristics in the terrifying ocean in The
Awakening and in the river that swallows Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Yet for each major character in
the two novels, water yields lucidity in its wake; it is the cure that brings closure to each story and
enlightenment to each woman. Water, in many forms, affects every major character in [oh god what s
a synonym for the two novels ]. Fears of submersion, overpowering tears, visions of deep sea
creatures, and baptismal deaths all seep into the pages of the two novels. In some cases, water is
clearly something to be avoided; take, for example, Laura Brown s reluctance to begin her tasks as a
housewife in the morning. She must [summon] resolve, as if she were about to dive into cold water
(41) just to put down her book, because there is more passion and promise in Virginia Woolf s words
than in her own existence. For Clarissa Vaughn, too, water invokes feelings of discomfort; as she steps
from her home onto the streets of Greenwich Village, she pauses at the threshold as she would at the
edge of a pool, watching the turquoise water lapping at the tiles, the liquid nets of sun wavering in the
blue depths (9). She admires the freshness of the morning, [delaying] for a

The War On Drugs And Its Impact On The United States
The current policy in use by the United States concerning illegal drugs is both outdated and unfair.
This so called war on drugs is a deeply rooted campaign of prohibition and unfair sentencing that is
very controversial and has been debated for many years. The war on drugs is designed so that it will
never end. This current drug was has very little impact on the overall supply of prohibited drugs and
its impact on demand seems non existent. United States taxpayers are spending billions of dollars on
this failure of policy. They are spending billions to incarcerate drug users instead offering drug
treatment which could help lower demand. Legalizing illicit would lower abuse and deaths from use
and could have a positive economic impact on the United States. Certain industries are making
massive sums of money by capitalizing on the drug war. Currently, many prisons are beginning to be
run by private corporations. If a company is running a prison then they need prisoners to stay in
business. Around 1 in every 107 Americans is currently being housed in a prison. The United States
has about 5 percent of the world s population yet 25 percent of its prisoners(ACA, 2008). This is the
easiest way to maintain a large prison population is by maintaining the current drug war. The largest
private prison company in the United States is Corrections Corp. of America(ACA, 2008). In the last
twenty years, CCA has donated nearly $5 million dollars to certain political

What Did The Babylonians, Chinese Contribute To...
1. What did the Babylonians, Egyptians, Greeks, Romans, Islamic, and Chinese contribute to
mathematics?
Babylonian: The base 60 system that is still used today in the division of hours into minutes and
seconds. They left clay tables that contained tables of multiplication, division, squares cubes, and
square roots, and the measurement of area and length. All of these allowed the solution of linear and
quadratic equation to be determined. They knew the Pythagoras Theory before invented and made
predictions of when an astronomical event will occur.
Egyptians: 1 Used math to solve practical problems (measuring time, the annual Nile flooding,
calculating area of land, bookkeeping, accounting, calculating taxes). 2 Introduced Approximation by
giving the approximate area of a circle. 3 Introduced the base 10 counting system they used for
measuring time, flood, areas and records.
Greeks: used math for music, made Pythagorean theorem, Euclidean algorithm, latitude and longitude,
buoyance, pi, exponents, odometer.
Pythagoras (theorem, discovered the square root of two p/q) and Thales (stated that since ABC are
points in a circle, AC must be the diameter and the angle computer design.

Henry s Speeches in William Shakespeare s Henry V Essay
Henry s Speeches in William Shakespeare s Henry V
I will be writing about how Henry V wins the hearts of his men. Using, five main speeches that Henry
V makes. I think that Henry won the hearts of his men by persuasion. Beforehand, I would like to
apologize because I may talk about what Henry says but I truly know this is what Shakespeare wrote.
In the first speech the Dauphin presented Henry V with a set of tennis balls as a joke and insult. He
was suggesting that Henry was a child and not fit for being a king. I expected Henry V to be angry and
yell with frustration but I noticed a sudden silence before Henry started his speech; it ... Show more

Repetition is also used in the second and fifth speech.
In the second main speech in which Henry exposes the traitors, I think he plays with the traitors before
he tells the traitors that he knows about their, sin. Henry loves defeating people at their own game as
we saw in the last speech as well. Shakespeare often makes speeches easier to understand by using
comparison. In almost all of the speeches, Shakespeare uses examples of objects, which everyone can
relate to, or at least can imagine. In this speech he compares the traitors to monsters. Shakespeare also
uses comparison greatly in the third speech. The traitors are guilty and we all know that but Henry
puts the situation in such words, which makes them appear unforgivable, cruel, Ingrateful, savage, and
inhuman creature. Comparing once again, ...coined me into gold, he says it as though Lord Scroop had
put a price on their friendship, their extremely deep friendship, That knew st the very bottom of my
soul. How can one not differentiate between black and white, Henry uses comparison yet again.
Another example of such technique is, the voice in hell for excellence, he refers the traitor s act as
sheer excellence even in hell . I think asking a rhetorical question seems to be very

Differences Between Freak The Mighty
The novel, Freak the Mighty, and the movie, The Mighty, have many things in common, but also have
several differences. The first similarity is that in both the text and movie, Max first puts Freak on his
shoulders at the fireworks. He does this because Freak complains that he can t see anything, so Max
picks him up without thinking and places his on his shoulders. As a result, Max carries Freak around
on his shoulders everywhere. Another common scene between both the novel and the film is when
Freak tells Max he ll get a bionic body. When the two reach the New Testaments on a walk, Freak
points to a building and says he s getting his measurements for a bionic body. He swears he s telling
the truth, but it turns out he wasn t Freak would instead die. One final similarity is Loretta s

Max realized who this was in a scene only present in the book, when Kevin held up his crutch and
yelled, Identify yourself, human! . In the movie, Freak and Max first see each other over the fence
when Freak is playing with the ornithopter where they don t even interact, and finally meet in gym
class. Another difference was how Loretta Lee acted once Max and Freak returned her wallet. In the
book, she got angry and accused them of stealing it, but stopped yelling once she inspected Max and
saw how much he resembled Killer Kane. However, in the movie Loretta thanked them and told them
how nice young gentlemen they were, but was surprised realized who Max was. Also, in the book
Max is told Freak died at the hospital, by Dr. Spivak after Max said that Freak told him he was getting
a bionic body. Dr. Spivak then told him that Kevin knew he would die at a young age. In the movie,
Max races up to an ambulance and bangs on the doors until Gwen comes out of the ambulance and

Sinclair Lewis Struggle For Equal Rights For Women
One of the features that characterized western civilization during the 20th century the push for equal
rights for all emerged during the enlightenment era. By the early 20th century, feminists were
promoting equal rights for women as they were becoming more present in the public sphere. However,
after WWII, women were pushed back into more domestic roles. According to certain mid 20th
century writers, western civilization fell short of fulfilling this promise of equality for women in that
women during the 20th century were not granted rights by men in positions of power nor the same sort
of equality as men within the public sphere. Sinclair Lewis It Can t Happen Here, Heda Margolius

Corporal Punishment Is A Form Of Physical Punishment
Corporal punishment is a form of physical punishment that inflicts pain on kids for their negative
actions such as spanking. This topic is controversial because some people feel very strongly that they
should be allowed to continue using these methods and others feel very strongly that they should not
be allowed to. I feel as if this method of punishment is inhumane and should not continue to be used.
The modernization of psychology has proved that hitting children will not help them learn that what
they did was wrong and will probably just make them angry or frustrated why they were abused. Even
if they don t do it again i think that it s just because they re scared not to, not because they actually
learned not to and once they aren t scared anymore then they may continue to commit that action. Also
if it s legal for people to do then in some cases it will be overused and the person will not be able to
get into trouble if they get caught.
Being abused can be a very traumatizing life event that can affect somebody forever, if we start
bringing it back into schools then it could really ruin some kid s lives. According to Yun Jinies, who
writes for abc news, he wrote this article to inform people about some of the dangers that come along
with corporal punishment being in schools. Yun brought up a specific incident that occurred in a
school where a principal paddled a 5 year old student. Tenika Jones says the principal at the Joyce

Applying A Mixed Methods For Choosing Text And Data...
Methodology
3. 1 Introduction
In this chapter, I introduce and then give a detailed account of the research methodol ogy adopted in
the present study. The chapter has two sections, in the first of which I pro vide a brief account of the
main implications of applying a mixed methods approach in re search design and a brief description of
the different ways of designing mixed methods re search in 3.2. In the second section, I discuss the use
of corpus linguistics as a research method, that is, the quantitative part represented by the application
of corpus linguistic tools and the choice of the reference corpus that is compatible with the Obama
corpus. The pro cedures for choosing text and data collection are provided in 3.6, in addition to
providing some background and contextual description and information about the texts and the audi
ence they are addressed to. In 3.5, I discuss the qualitative aspect represented by narrative analysis
supported by highlighting the analytical focus when dealing with qualitative data in 3.7. The chapter
ends with a summary section that refers back to the first section to locate the methodology and
analytical procedures within the mixed method various strategies.
3.2 Mixed Method Research
The mixed methods paradigm has been defined as the class of research where the re searcher mixes or

The Problems Of Year-Round Schooling
Alan Dessoff reports that year round schooling may or may not be on track. One problem that a lot of
schools are having is overcrowding. More than 2 million students, in 3,000 schools, in 47 states were
attending year round school in 2006 2007. The numbers are still accurate today. This is a problem
because there is not enough room for that many students year round. Year round schooling is also
costing schools a lot more money than the regular 180 day calendar. Bus fare, lunches, and staff
attendance is costing schools a lot of money that most schools cannot afford. Year round schooling
also may affect high school children more than it affects elementary and junior high students because
students in grades 9 12 are looking for summer jobs. One

Strategic Rouling In Basketball
Strategic fouls occur when a competitor in an athletic contest deliberately and openly breaks a rule
expecting to be penalized and with willingness to accept the penalty. In basketball, teams that are
losing will usually deliberately foul the opposing team to stop the clock. A lot of people in the
basketball world hate this tactic, they feel like strategic fouling is a violation. Some believe that it is
ethical, because it is part of a thought process. Coaches are starting to implement strategic fouling into
their practices. It has become a crucial part of the game of basketball. Fans never want to see their
hometown team down by two with twenty seconds left in the game, and choose to allow the other
team to dribble the ball until the clock expires. Choosing between giving up, or fouling the other team
and hoping they miss the free throws so that you are able to score and win the games will always be an
easy choice to make. Coaches and fans would describe that as giving up, because basketball is a sport
where anything can happen at any given moment so you have to have the mentality that there is
always a winning possibility. Tracy McGrady (Use to be and NBA ... Show more content on

Essay on Foreshadowing and Irony in “Sweat” by Zora Neale...
The short story Sweat, by Zora Neale Hurston, seems to exemplify the epitome of a bad marriage.
Hurston uses foreshadowing and irony to demonstrate the disintegrated relationship between the
abusive husband and the diligent wife. Throughout the story, it becomes obvious that the husband does
not oblige by the motto, Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Hurston s use of irony
and foreshadowing helps reveal the fact that the good will prevail and Sykes will finally get what he
deserves. From the very beginning, the reader notices the psychological and verbal abuse that Sykes
puts on Delia. It was a Sunday and Delia decided to get ahead on her work for the week by separating

The other men in the town seem to disrespect Sykes and even suggest that he should die. While Delia
started to deliver the clean laundry in town one day, the men talked about how Delia is too good for

woman, ultimately cheating on his hardworking wife. Finally, one man says, Syke Jones ain t wuth de

will fall victim to a well deserved death. Perhaps the most important event in the story occurs when
Sykes brings home a huge six foot living snake. Fear once again overcomes Delia and she pleads,
Syke! Syke, mah Gawd! You take dat rattlesnake way from heah! You gottuh. Oh, Jesus, have mussy

anything should and will comply with him. In regards to the enormous snake, Sykes boasts, ...He
wouldn t bite me cause Ah knows how tuh handel im (360). He makes sure to instill fear into Delia by
telling her to be careful because the snake would have no problem coming after her. Hurston also has
Sykes portray his own death. In this same scene, Sykes reply to

It is important to note that it is principally the duty of the court to determine who is an expert, ie,
whether a person is sufficiently skilled to give expert evidence. (see the case of R v. Onitiri (1946) 12
WACA 58 at 59); see also section 186 of the Evidence Act). The court is assisted in discharging this
duty by the expert witness stating his qualification and experience before leading evidence. See the
case of Azu v. The State (1993) 6 NWLR (Pt. 299) page 303. It should also be noted that the skill
required for this purpose is not necessarily acquired by academic qualification or training; it may also
be by experience (Shell Petroleum Development Co. (Nig) Ltd. V. Tiebo (1996), 4 NWLR (pt. 445) P.

conflicts with common sense (Okoh v. The State. (1971) NMLR 140) or where the expert fails to state
the basis of his opinion (Idudhe v. Eseh (1996) 5 NWLR (Pt. 451) P. 750). The correct test of the

Michel Foucault s Theory Of Surveillance
Surveillance
One of my former teachers, Michael Gedville, it s not what you do when people are watching, but
what you do when others aren t watching. This quote reminds me about Michel Foucault, who was a
French social theorist. He was a physiologist that had a different perspective than the original
physiologist. Foucault would go astray from the normal path of thinking and try new ideas. One
example is Foucault s perspective on societal surveillance. This emerged in the West after about 1600
as a means of reforming malefactors and shaping the actions of all members of society. Foucault
believed surveillance emerged as a means to change human behavior, and many contemporary
surveillance technologies reflect this larger social function of ensuring that the rules of proper conduct
and behavior are internalized by members of society.
Ruptures and discontinuity in the 1800s gave way to the development and need for surveillance.
Author Michel Foucault addresses this when he explains the transition from physical punishment to a
mental or soul punishment; this change happened because crimes started to change thus, criminals
become smarter. Civil authority wanted to rehabilitate and prevent more criminals rather than killing
them, therefore, the prison was born. With the birth of the prison lead to the birth of surveille.
Surveillance is not only used to monitor those that committed a crime, but those that might not.
Therefore, preventing crime in the first place and reducing

mother. Code switching played a huge part in my life at an early age.
Code switching has been used a lot over the years in job interviews. For example, some African
Americans feel that they have to change the way they talk when they are around White people. It s just
like speaking to a female that you really like, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some have people who train them on not being politically correct. You don t want to always say what
s on your mind because that will throw people off. Keeping it real doesn t always pay the bills in that
industry. I use celeberties for a reason because that is how they are taught to be in that world. For
Example, Rick Ross raps about drug dealing and guns but that is not who he is, he knows how to act
when the music is done.
In class I learned that it was such thing as African American language. I totally disagree with that,
because in 2016 everyone speaks with a slang or terms. You can t give off a name to one race, when
other people use that type of language. That is when code meshing comes in, you will notice how
people speak differently. In Nigeria people use this term called Broken English . That is when you say
the word half way but it Is not proper at all.
Code meshing is used a lot where I am from in the inner city of Baltimore. I grew up in the city, where
majority of my friends are from around the way. They taught me certain slangs and I felt like I was
cool. Code switching comes in on this one, when kids want to fit in so they use slangs to feel hip. Like
to some kids, they feel that it wouldn t be cool for them to speak proper in front of their

The Airlines And The Airline Industry
The airline industry has been around for years, it has suffered its ups and downs due to attacks such as
the one that occurred in September 11, and even most recent as the Paris attack that occurred this past
year. Major Airlines have suffered a decline in their profitability which has forced many airlines to file
for bankruptcy. However, when bad times hit an industry some companies are forced to quit, while
others are forced to change their strategy and continue moving forward.
In the airline industry, we have two major industries classified as the traditional airlines and the budget
airlines. Traditional airlines have vertically integrated services and purchase their aircrafts directly
from their manufacturer. On the other hand, budget airlines lease their aircrafts in order to source their
fleet and provide cheaper flights. These cheap flights are supported by the subsidiaries in the
secondary airports they flight in and out of.
Secondary airports are a great way for budget airlines to provide a faster turnaround due to the fewer
flights that go in and out of these secondary airports. With budget Airlines there is also no in flight
service, the low cost the customer pays includes nothing but the flight itself. There is limited aircrew,
which is responsible for cleaning the aircrafts and tickets are strictly sold online. Their advertising
money is spent mostly in advertising heavily on popular social media sites.
Whether a customer decides to flight on a budget airline

Internet and the Music Industry
Internet and the Music Industry Cassandra Utz University of Phoenix
In our society today, there is a growing number of consumers using the Internet as a main source for
music. The smaller music companies are having to come up with new and different ways to use the
Internet to increase their sales. The music companies can drive there sales because so many people are
previewing songs online by downloading it first. The artists are also able to capitalize on their music
via the Internet. The Internet is capable of reaching all types of people all over the world. The music

The bigger companies like Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, Song BMG Music
Entertainment, etc., have the big dollars to promote all of their artists. Because the Internet has caught
on, all of the music companies can promote everyone. Even the little companies can do this.
Hopefully, the music industry will look at this as a blessing in disguise for the underground labels.
Looking at this in the short term of things, downloading music could hurt the music industry and their
profits. However, later down the line, it will eventually benefit them. In a study done by Ipsos Reid, it
shows that 81% of the public that download music, often spend at least the same on records or even
more than they did before downloading music from the Internet. The record industry must concentrate
on offering value to the user and adapt to the publics needs (Vives, 2004). The music industry should
try to realize that the ideas behind free downloads can benefit them. They should do what they can to
market more from it, rather than turning their noses up at the technology behind it. They should realize
that they waste more money on fighting the sites that offer free downloads and lobbing Congress to
stop the downloading, they should build a system in which all music is readily available free. Making
sites with easy to follow links to other online music store so that the people can buy music from the
same place that they listen to it.

Frank Herbert and His Classic Novel, Dune Essay
Frank Herbert and His Classic Novel, Dune
A beginning is the time for taking the most delicate care that the balances are correct. Princess Irulan
speaks these words in the award winning novel Dune (Novel). Frank Herbert knew this quote was true
because he carefully planned his epic masterpiece before he started writing. The novel could only
happen after research of a variety of topics. Dune has many different influences and origins. Frank
Herbert s complicated book, covering a variety of themes, took six years to complete (Wikipedia).
Frank Herbert was born in Tacoma Washington on October 8, 1920. At an early age, he carried around
books by Edgar Rice Burroughs, Jules Verne, and H.G. Wells in a Boy Scout backpack. At the age of

They were married in Seattle on June 20, 1946 (Wikipedia).
Herbert began reading science fiction in the 1940 s, and by the 1950 s decided that science fiction is
what he wanted to write. Early in his career, he published short stories under a pseudonym that he
refused to reveal (O Reilley). Some of his short fiction under his real name appeared in Startling
Fiction. He was an infrequent writer, though. He only produced twenty short stories in a decade. His
first published novel was Dragon in the Sea, also titled Under Pressure (Wikipedia).
Herbert s past work would be shadowed by what was coming next. The origins of the novel Dune
began in 1959. Herbert worked on an assignment asking him to write an article about sand dunes in
Florence, Oregon. The government was trying to stop the spread of the dunes over the coastline. He
became very involved with the project and ended up with a mass of information. Herbert never handed
in the article, but it served as the seed for the ideas that created Dune. He stated about the incident:
I had far too much for an article and far too much for a short story. So I didn t know really what I had
but I had an enormous amount of data and avenues shooting off at all angles to get more.... I finally
saw that I had something enormously interesting going for me about the ecology of deserts, and it was,
for a science fiction writer anyway, an easy step from that to

Imagery in Slaughterhouse-Five
Kurt Vonnegut s uses many images to enhance the overall effect of Slaughterhouse Five. Throughout
the novel, in both war scenes and in the protagonist s travels back and forward in time, the many
images produce a believable story of the unusual life of Billy Pilgrim. Vonnegut uses color imagery,
repetitive images, and images of pain and suffering to develop the novel and create situations that the
reader can accept and comprehend.
Billy Pilgrim s life is far from normal. Throughout most of his adult life he has been moving
backwards and forwards through time, from one event to another, in a non sequential order. At least,
this schizophrenic life is hard to understand. Because Vonnegut wants the reader to relate to Billy ...

. . going backwards into pre birth, which was red light and bubbling sounds quot; (43). The careful
and vivid depiction of colors enables the reader to relate to the experience.
Vonnegut also uses many images in a repetitive fashion. He talks about the blue and ivory feet several
times, as well as the pattern of orange and black that appears both on the train taking prisoners to the
war camp and on the wedding tent for Billy s daughter (69, 72). Furthermore, sleepers (Vonnegut and
his wife, people in the prison camps) are repeatedly described as being quot;nestled like spoons quot;
(70). Another common image is that of moonlight in chapter four. In several places during this
chapter, the image of moonlight suggests a mood of serenity and stillness. Additionally, the image of
the soldiers hobbling up and down is repeated several times. This image stretches from the relentless
bobbing up and down, up and down of the soldiers to the Tralfamadorian novel where the characters
quot;certainly had their ups and downs, ups and downs quot; (87).
Another important technique is Vonnegut s use of dark, grizzly images of pain and suffering. Many of
the long, descriptive passages of the novel are grotesque stories from the war or terrible memories
from Billy Pilgrim s consciousness. One of these images involves a latrine

Are Children Inherently Fascist Essay
Are Kids Inherently Fascist?
In the article Why kids love fascist cartoons like Paw Patrol and Thomas author Elissa Strauss argues
that children are inherently drawn to television shows that portray underlying fascist themes that
ultimately uphold a mostly white, patriarchal dominant system. Strauss uses two television shows in
particular to argue her case, Paw Patrol and Thomas the Tank Engine where the former follows search
and rescue dogs who go out on missions to protect their community while the latter is a television
series following anthropomorphised locomotives who go on adventures. Overall, Elissa Strauss article
Why kids love fascist cartoons like Paw Patrol and Thomas starts out with a thought provoking
argument using mostly ethos and pathos, while including some logos, about why parents should be
worried their kids are being exposed to fascist themes, but her argument dwindles after she relies
heavily on anecdotal evidence, with little of her own commentary, about the effect these television
shows have on society and their systemic institutions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to Strauss, parents look for a world in which identities are both mutable and equal, and
imagination and empathy reign supreme, while children are drawn to worlds in which identities are
fixed, order trumps imagination and transgressions are met with routine punishment. Here we can see
Strauss using pathos to evoke a battle between good and evil, using positive, idealist descriptions to
describe the wants of the parents in comparison to the cold, mechanical descriptions to describe the
wants of the children. This is the point in the article where Strauss introduces her two targets, one
which can easily be identified as cold and mechanical, while the other takes some deep

Examples Of Sexism In Television Shows
Nowadays, many of the television programs that many of us watch are usually sexist within their
dialogue. However, many of us are unaware of this because our attention is being entertained by the
show itself; so, we do not take the time to analyze and notice what we are truly watching. Many of us
are being sidetracked by the different situations/entertainment found in the show. For instance, some
examples used to cover up sexism in a television show are: comedy/humor, drama, sexuality, and
violence; however, television shows are not the only ones that use this, movies and advertisements do
too. The different examples, pull one s attention into the situation, rather than the dialogue occurring
between characters and how they speak to one another. However, there are ways to unravel the sex
linked differences between characters in television programs; we can analyze the different forms in
which different sex, age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and educational level individuals speak to
one another. The intent of analyzing a television show is to demonstrate the sex linked differences
between a family and their gender roles and humor and drama are used to hide sexism. Furthermore,
the sitcom The Middle will be used in order to prove and evaluate the sexism that still occurs in many
television programs.
The television program: The Middle, is a sitcom based on a family (the Hecks) of five, whom are:
mother (Frankie, 52), father (Mike, 54), son (Axl, 23), daughter (Sue, 21),

The Aeneid Character Analysis
Throughout the Aeneid, Aeneas has shown extreme examples of leadership and guidance to his peers.
He has led them through intensely hard times and directed them on what to do during times of
confusion. He shows bravery and fearlessness when leading his group of followers into dangerous
situations, changing the outcome of the story. Throughout all the books, especially Book I and Book
IV, Aeneas affected his peers and the story with his immense amounts of leadership and following.
Aeneas journey to the underworld in book IV shows the theme of leadership and how it is portrayed to
a great extent throughout the whole book. In the lines 384 425, and they talk about Aeneas experiences
in the underworld, including his encounter with Cerberus, the three headed guard dog. Most people
see Cerberus as an insanely scary creature and most people do not have the strength to even come near
the underworld because of it. In the lines, it says nec vim tela ferunt; licet ingens ianitor antro
aeternum latrans exsanguis terreat umbras. This translates roughly to our weapons offer no affront:
your huge guard dog can terrify the bloodless shades with his eternal howling. This shows how
intimidating and scary this beast was, and how it makes men quiver and can barely be defeated. The
pure intimidation from this beast would send most people running, but the characters in these lines
show insane bravery and leadership by continuing onward even with this giant obstacle in their way.

The Psychopathy Checklist Revised Essay
The PCL R is a tool that enables a distinct group of psychologically abnormal offenders to be
measured using a three point rating scale for twenty two consistent behavioural characteristics. These
characteristics have been underlying themes in an ongoing debate between psychiatrists on the
definition and existence of psychopaths in discourse. While the literature takes no determinative
stance, the psychopath has nonetheless become a distinct group in the binding legislation of the 1913
mental health Act. The PCL R goes a step further than the act does to identify this group by not only
suggesting that the psychopath is a statistically relevant group of criminals but Hare takes an objective
approach that eliminates any likelihood of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Factor 4 has to do with the early appearance of chronic antisocial behaviour. The following fall under
this category: previous diagnosis as a psychopath or similar disorder, early behavioural problems,
juvenile delinquency, and short tempered/poor behavioural control. The last factor reflects impulsive
and inadequately motivated criminal acts. Acts such as poor probation or parole risk, many types of
offences, and pathological lying and deception are grouped in Factor 5. All twenty two factors in Hare
s checklist are said to be observable in one percent of the population.
Accordingly, there exists a small group of people who exhibit most to all of these specific and peculiar
characteristics and behaviours. This particular group of predators presents numerous challenges to
morality, safety and policy. For instance, because a psychopath may display a general coldness toward
others, they are more likely to commit criminal acts, and afterward not respond to punishment or
deterrent tactics. Hare s psychopathy checklist when used as a tool to identify psychopaths prevents
harmful exposure of non psychopaths to this dangerous group of offenders. For this tool to work
effectively there must not be significant overlap of the specific characteristics used in the PCL R to
identify psychopaths as in the general population of non psychopaths. In other words, the psychopath

Determining The Efficiency Of A Protocol
6.2 RESULTS
6.2.1 Simulation matrix
There are number of metrics which are helpful for deciding the efficiency of a protocol. In this work
the parameters used to evaluate the efficiency of a protocol are the packet delivery ratio, packet
statistics in the network and the throughput of the network. The protocols AODV and AODVBC are
checked against these parameters for their performance. Packet delivery ratio of the network is
improved as the mobility with respect to the number of nodes changes. Increase in the PDR (Packet
delivery ratio is because of the less number of packet drops when AODVBC is used. Fig. 4 justifies
the better performance of AODVBC routing protocol over AODV protocol in terms of less number of
packets drop.
AODV and AODVBC protocol has been tasted over nine different scenes of 10 nodes, 20 nodes, 30

Aristotle s Theory Of Virtue
Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics is a reflection as to what virtue is. Aristotle s definition of virtue can
be described as the as the state of character concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this
being determined by reason and by that reason by which the man of practical wisdom would
determine it (Nicomachean Ethics, 31). In addition to that, Aristotle illustrates two types of virtue that
stem from his primary idea; moral and intellectual virtue. Aristotle expounds moral virtue as
actualizing from habit, in which the virtue cannot arise naturally, for the fact that nothing can form a
habitual habit that contrasts from its nature. For instance, the example of the fire; it is impossible to

For instance we can look at the example of exercise; in which an excess or deficiency in exercise can
ruin one s health. The application of the Doctrine of the Mean, applies to all instances of virtues, in
which we must find the mean relative to us, in order to be virtuous. Granted, Aristotle explains the
conditions that must be met in order to be virtuous; They must have knowledge of what they re
saying; they must perform the action for its own sake and the action must be preceded from a firm and
unchangeable character (Lecture 8, Moral Problems). In other words, actions are noble, when they are
carried out noble.
Furthermore, Plato s Symposium was also a reflection as to what virtues are. Plato s explanation of
virtue is emphasised through the symposium and the Phaedrus. In the case of the symposium, the
discussion of love is developed by 5 protagonists in the symposium; Phaedrus, Pausanias,
Erxyimachus, Aristophanes and Agathon. They discuss the nature of love, adding their own
interpretation to the previous person s opinion. Their speeches ultimately lead to the understanding
that love bestows the greatest, in other words, Love is one of the most ancient gods, as such, he gives
to us the greatest goods (Symposium, 465). The Symposium begins with Phaedrus, who presents the
idea the that love bestows the greatest gifts (Lecture 4, Moral Problems) ; Pausanias, explains that

  • 2. Narrative Essay Misha I had woken up one cold winter morning, with the light in my eyes like a jackboots flashlight glaring down at me, and the dreadful smell of the horse stable. Looking over to where Misha had slept, I had expected him to be sound asleep, but Misha wasn t there. I figured that Misha was out surprising shops owners and stealing their food, for whoever he visited in his spare time. Stiffly, I stood up and walked out of the stable to go for a quick pickle run. I had gotten two bitter, green, delicious pickles. As I walked the sidewalks of Warsaw, I ate the pickles, with the juice running down my face like little streams. As I was finishing off my last pickle, I saw a local baker selling his bread. It looked crispy, freshly made, and delicious. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I knocked on the big, brown door that had a few snowflakes on it, Doctor Korczak looked out the door. Well hello there Uri! Why I didn t expect you here! He said with a chuckle. I held up the loaves of bread, with the morning light shining on the bags and he greeted me inside, opening the door wider. I gladly went into the building with the large mossy, brick walls, and the light flooded windows. I started to wonder where Misha was. I set the loaves down on one of the large tables in the orphanage. Doctor Korczak sat down in a chair and I sat across from him. I asked him in a whisper like voice so that I couldn t be heard, Do the orphans ever go out alone? No, I go out with them, mainly because they ask, and I m worried for the Poleish jerks in Warsaw! He said growing serious, Why? Well I haven t seen Misha all day and I know I let him go out alone, but I just was wondering if you had seen him. I said, realizing it was almost noon. I am usually never worried but Misha has gotten into some trouble lately. Especially when his ear was shot off. Well that is very strange. said Doctor Korczak, Misha is actually right up stairs sound ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This will be done by investigating which event was more significant and influential to Hitler and the Nazi Party. The Reichstag Fire affected and helped Hitler concrete an extremely strong argument to imprison Communist, resulting in a tremendous advantage at elections in March 1933. On the other hand, the Munich Putsch made Hitler realise that to conquer power he would have to wait, and conquer everything democratically, and the perfect time to launch his plan was during the Great Depression, if this events were not subsequent, Hitler may had not consolidated his powers. Nonetheless, Hitler becoming Chancellor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Enabling Act was signed by President Hindenburg on March 23rd 1933, giving Hitler the power to establish new laws without going through the Reichstag for exactly four years. Hitler was demanding this right, as in previous speeches he promoted speeches that stated that with this amendment he would be able to reconstruct and reformulate Germany, whiles leading the country. The Enabling Act can be seen as pivotal as it granted the Nazi Party a very strong protection against any threat. The main fear, was the threat of other parties attacking the Nazis, as this actions were extremely unpredictable, as the Enabling act allowed Hitler to pass laws simply by Hitler s signature. This not only meant a tremendous power above citizens as it allowed the Nazis to pass laws very quickly, which were extremely beneficial in times of crisis. This would also create a very strong image of the Nazis, as they would be able to be in control of everything efficiently giving an immense support from the public. • 5. The Samurai s Life During The Tokugawa Period The Samurai were the medieval warriors of Japan and were usually called bushi or buke (Matt Williams, Unknown) but only 10% or less of Japan s population was able to become a Bushi. Although this may sound quite desirable, it managed to improve for Buke when the Tokugawa period came. Their lifestyle changed for the better and they didn t have to worry about death, while still retaining the same position on the hierarchy pyramid. Because of this being a samurai knight in the Tokugawa Period was desirable. The Samurai s lifestyle changed a lot when the Tokugawa Period came, as this was when civil peace occurred throughout Feudal Japan. • 6. The Cure For Anything Is Salt Water As Isak Dinesen famously states in Seven Gothic Tales, The cure for anything is salt water tears, sweat, or the sea. Paradoxically, since the days of ancient creation epics, the sea has been a symbol of chaos and danger; clearly, water takes on these characteristics in the terrifying ocean in The Awakening and in the river that swallows Virginia Woolf in The Hours. Yet for each major character in the two novels, water yields lucidity in its wake; it is the cure that brings closure to each story and enlightenment to each woman. Water, in many forms, affects every major character in [oh god what s a synonym for the two novels ]. Fears of submersion, overpowering tears, visions of deep sea creatures, and baptismal deaths all seep into the pages of the two novels. In some cases, water is clearly something to be avoided; take, for example, Laura Brown s reluctance to begin her tasks as a housewife in the morning. She must [summon] resolve, as if she were about to dive into cold water (41) just to put down her book, because there is more passion and promise in Virginia Woolf s words than in her own existence. For Clarissa Vaughn, too, water invokes feelings of discomfort; as she steps from her home onto the streets of Greenwich Village, she pauses at the threshold as she would at the edge of a pool, watching the turquoise water lapping at the tiles, the liquid nets of sun wavering in the blue depths (9). • 7. The War On Drugs And Its Impact On The United States The current policy in use by the United States concerning illegal drugs is both outdated and unfair. This so called war on drugs is a deeply rooted campaign of prohibition and unfair sentencing that is very controversial and has been debated for many years. The war on drugs is designed so that it will never end. This current drug was has very little impact on the overall supply of prohibited drugs and its impact on demand seems non existent. United States taxpayers are spending billions of dollars on this failure of policy. They are spending billions to incarcerate drug users instead offering drug treatment which could help lower demand. Legalizing illicit would lower abuse and deaths from use and could have a positive economic impact on the United States. Certain industries are making massive sums of money by capitalizing on the drug war. Currently, many prisons are beginning to be run by private corporations. If a company is running a prison then they need prisoners to stay in business. Around 1 in every 107 Americans is currently being housed in a prison. The United States has about 5 percent of the world s population yet 25 percent of its prisoners(ACA, 2008). This is the easiest way to maintain a large prison population is by maintaining the current drug war. Using, five main speeches that Henry V makes. I think that Henry won the hearts of his men by persuasion. Beforehand, I would like to apologize because I may talk about what Henry says but I truly know this is what Shakespeare wrote. In the first speech the Dauphin presented Henry V with a set of tennis balls as a joke and insult. He was suggesting that Henry was a child and not fit for being a king. Repetition is also used in the second and fifth speech. In the second main speech in which Henry exposes the traitors, I think he plays with the traitors before he tells the traitors that he knows about their, sin. Henry loves defeating people at their own game as we saw in the last speech as well. Shakespeare often makes speeches easier to understand by using comparison. In almost all of the speeches, Shakespeare uses examples of objects, which everyone can relate to, or at least can imagine. In this speech he compares the traitors to monsters. Shakespeare also uses comparison greatly in the third speech. The traitors are guilty and we all know that but Henry puts the situation in such words, which makes them appear unforgivable, cruel, Ingrateful, savage, and inhuman creature. Comparing once again, ...coined me into gold, he says it as though Lord Scroop had put a price on their friendship, their extremely deep friendship, That knew st the very bottom of my soul. However, after WWII, women were pushed back into more domestic roles. This topic is controversial because some people feel very strongly that they should be allowed to continue using these methods and others feel very strongly that they should not be allowed to. I feel as if this method of punishment is inhumane and should not continue to be used. The modernization of psychology has proved that hitting children will not help them learn that what they did was wrong and will probably just make them angry or frustrated why they were abused. Even if they don t do it again i think that it s just because they re scared not to, not because they actually learned not to and once they aren t scared anymore then they may continue to commit that action. Also if it s legal for people to do then in some cases it will be overused and the person will not be able to get into trouble if they get caught. Coaches are starting to implement strategic fouling into their practices. It has become a crucial part of the game of basketball. • 20. Michel Foucault s Theory Of Surveillance Surveillance One of my former teachers, Michael Gedville, it s not what you do when people are watching, but what you do when others aren t watching. This quote reminds me about Michel Foucault, who was a French social theorist. He was a physiologist that had a different perspective than the original physiologist. Foucault would go astray from the normal path of thinking and try new ideas. One example is Foucault s perspective on societal surveillance. This emerged in the West after about 1600 as a means of reforming malefactors and shaping the actions of all members of society. Foucault believed surveillance emerged as a means to change human behavior, and many contemporary surveillance technologies reflect this larger social function of ensuring that the rules of proper conduct and behavior are internalized by members of society. Ruptures and discontinuity in the 1800s gave way to the development and need for surveillance. Author Michel Foucault addresses this when he explains the transition from physical punishment to a mental or soul punishment; this change happened because crimes started to change thus, criminals become smarter. Civil authority wanted to rehabilitate and prevent more criminals rather than killing them, therefore, the prison was born. With the birth of the prison lead to the birth of surveille. Billy Pilgrim s life is far from normal. Throughout most of his adult life he has been moving backwards and forwards through time, from one event to another, in a non sequential order. The careful and vivid depiction of colors enables the reader to relate to the experience. Vonnegut also uses many images in a repetitive fashion. He talks about the blue and ivory feet several times, as well as the pattern of orange and black that appears both on the train taking prisoners to the war camp and on the wedding tent for Billy s daughter (69, 72). Furthermore, sleepers (Vonnegut and his wife, people in the prison camps) are repeatedly described as being quot;nestled like spoons quot; (70). Another common image is that of moonlight in chapter four. In several places during this chapter, the image of moonlight suggests a mood of serenity and stillness. Additionally, the image of the soldiers hobbling up and down is repeated several times. This image stretches from the relentless bobbing up and down, up and down of the soldiers to the Tralfamadorian novel where the characters quot;certainly had their ups and downs, ups and downs quot; (87). Another important technique is Vonnegut s use of dark, grizzly images of pain and suffering. Many of the long, descriptive passages of the novel are grotesque stories from the war or terrible memories from Billy Pilgrim s consciousness. One of these images involves a latrine ... • 26. Are Children Inherently Fascist Essay Are Kids Inherently Fascist? In the article Why kids love fascist cartoons like Paw Patrol and Thomas author Elissa Strauss argues that children are inherently drawn to television shows that portray underlying fascist themes that ultimately uphold a mostly white, patriarchal dominant system. Strauss uses two television shows in particular to argue her case, Paw Patrol and Thomas the Tank Engine where the former follows search and rescue dogs who go out on missions to protect their community while the latter is a television series following anthropomorphised locomotives who go on adventures. Overall, Elissa Strauss article Why kids love fascist cartoons like Paw Patrol and Thomas starts out with a thought provoking argument using mostly ethos and pathos, while including some logos, about why parents should be worried their kids are being exposed to fascist themes, but her argument dwindles after she relies heavily on anecdotal evidence, with little of her own commentary, about the effect these television shows have on society and their systemic institutions. ... According to Strauss, parents look for a world in which identities are both mutable and equal, and imagination and empathy reign supreme, while children are drawn to worlds in which identities are fixed, order trumps imagination and transgressions are met with routine punishment. Here we can see Strauss using pathos to evoke a battle between good and evil, using positive, idealist descriptions to describe the wants of the parents in comparison to the cold, mechanical descriptions to describe the wants of the children. This is the point in the article where Strauss introduces her two targets, one which can easily be identified as cold and mechanical, while the other takes some deep ... • 29. Examples Of Sexism In Television Shows Nowadays, many of the television programs that many of us watch are usually sexist within their dialogue. However, many of us are unaware of this because our attention is being entertained by the show itself; so, we do not take the time to analyze and notice what we are truly watching. Many of us are being sidetracked by the different situations/entertainment found in the show. For instance, some examples used to cover up sexism in a television show are: comedy/humor, drama, sexuality, and violence; however, television shows are not the only ones that use this, movies and advertisements do too. The different examples, pull one s attention into the situation, rather than the dialogue occurring between characters and how they speak to one another. However, there are ways to unravel the sex linked differences between characters in television programs; we can analyze the different forms in which different sex, age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and educational level individuals speak to one another. The intent of analyzing a television show is to demonstrate the sex linked differences between a family and their gender roles and humor and drama are used to hide sexism. Furthermore, the sitcom The Middle will be used in order to prove and evaluate the sexism that still occurs in many television programs. In the lines 384 425, and they talk about Aeneas experiences in the underworld, including his encounter with Cerberus, the three headed guard dog. Most people see Cerberus as an insanely scary creature and most people do not have the strength to even come near the underworld because of it. In the lines, it says nec vim tela ferunt; licet ingens ianitor antro aeternum latrans exsanguis terreat umbras. This translates roughly to our weapons offer no affront: your huge guard dog can terrify the bloodless shades with his eternal howling. The Psychopathy Checklist Revised Essay The PCL R is a tool that enables a distinct group of psychologically abnormal offenders to be measured using a three point rating scale for twenty two consistent behavioural characteristics. These characteristics have been underlying themes in an ongoing debate between psychiatrists on the definition and existence of psychopaths in discourse. While the literature takes no determinative stance, the psychopath has nonetheless become a distinct group in the binding legislation of the 1913 mental health Act. The PCL R goes a step further than the act does to identify this group by not only suggesting that the psychopath is a statistically relevant group of criminals but Hare takes an objective approach that eliminates any likelihood of ... The following fall under this category: previous diagnosis as a psychopath or similar disorder, early behavioural problems, juvenile delinquency, and short tempered/poor behavioural control. The last factor reflects impulsive and inadequately motivated criminal acts. Acts such as poor probation or parole risk, many types of offences, and pathological lying and deception are grouped in Factor 5. All twenty two factors in Hare s checklist are said to be observable in one percent of the population. Accordingly, there exists a small group of people who exhibit most to all of these specific and peculiar characteristics and behaviours. This particular group of predators presents numerous challenges to morality, safety and policy. For instance, because a psychopath may display a general coldness toward others, they are more likely to commit criminal acts, and afterward not respond to punishment or deterrent tactics. Hare s psychopathy checklist when used as a tool to identify psychopaths prevents harmful exposure of non psychopaths to this dangerous group of offenders. For this tool to work effectively there must not be significant overlap of the specific characteristics used in the PCL R to identify psychopaths as in the general population of non psychopaths. In this work the parameters used to evaluate the efficiency of a protocol are the packet delivery ratio, packet statistics in the network and the throughput of the network. The protocols AODV and AODVBC are checked against these parameters for their performance. Packet delivery ratio of the network is improved as the mobility with respect to the number of nodes changes. Increase in the PDR (Packet delivery ratio is because of the less number of packet drops when AODVBC is used. Fig. 4 justifies the better performance of AODVBC routing protocol over AODV protocol in terms of less number of packets drop. Aristotle s definition of virtue can be described as the as the state of character concerned with choice, lying in a mean relative to us, this being determined by reason and by that reason by which the man of practical wisdom would determine it (Nicomachean Ethics, 31). In addition to that, Aristotle illustrates two types of virtue that stem from his primary idea; moral and intellectual virtue. Granted, Aristotle explains the conditions that must be met in order to be virtuous; They must have knowledge of what they re saying; they must perform the action for its own sake and the action must be preceded from a firm and unchangeable character (Lecture 8, Moral Problems). In other words, actions are noble, when they are carried out noble. Furthermore, Plato s Symposium was also a reflection as to what virtues are. Plato s explanation of virtue is emphasised through the symposium and the Phaedrus. In the case of the symposium, the discussion of love is developed by 5 protagonists in the symposium; Phaedrus, Pausanias, Erxyimachus, Aristophanes and Agathon.
