Down Syndrome And The Human Body
We all love amazing smiles and infectious eyes and hugs. Down syndrome occurs in people of all
races and economic levels. Who are we to judge when we all bleed the same blood. Down
syndrome is only a part of them and not how they are defined. No one is greater than another no
matter what the situation. In every cell in the human body there is a nucleus, where genetic
material is stored in genes. Genes carry the codes responsible for all of our inherited traits and are
grouped along rod like structures called chromosomes. Typically, the nucleus of each cell contains
23 pairs of chromosomes, half of which are inherited from each parent. Down syndromeoccurs
when an individual has a full or partial extra copy of chromosome21.
This additional genetic material alters the course of development and causes the characteristics
associated with Down syndrome. A few of the common physical traits of Down syndrome are low
muscle tone, small stature, an upward slant to the eyes, and a single deep crease across the center
of the palm although each person with Down syndrome is a unique individual and may possess
these characteristics to different degrees, or not at all.
One in every 691 babies in the the United States is born with Down syndrome, making Down
syndrome the most common genetic condition. Approximately 400,000 Americans have Down
syndrome and about 6,000 babies with Down syndrome are born in the United States each year.
For centuries, people with Down syndrome have been

A Serene Proposition Of Noise Pollution
A Serene Proposition
For getting rid of all unwanted noises across the United States, and for making a better and peaceful
America.
It is a disturbing noise to those fellow Americans who desire to sleep in past six o clock in the
morning, when they hear an ambulance rushing to the house around the block, a lawnmower
eating up grass outside a neighbor s yard, or a blender that a wife started to make herself a post
run smoothie. These noises do not just stop there however, they are around every corner of the
daily American routine. Awakened not by the rays of the sun that these citizens have set the night
before but by an airplane s propeller, these civilians wake up to their first encounter with the awful
noise pollution that grows louder ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The average lawn size in an american home is 8700 square feet. Researchers have converted this
number to 26 million blades of grass. Cutting 280 blades of grass every three seconds, one
would finish the yard in approximately four thousand sixty six minutes and without a sound.
That s about three days nonstop, so a more realistically, it would take a week to two weeks for a
nicely cut yard. Coincidentally, it takes two to three weeks for the grass to grow tall enough to
cut it again. Just like we Americans load up laundry over and over again, we will do this for the
lawn. Yes, we already do this but now it won t be such a burden on our ears. The lawn moweris just
an example of many possible changes that we Americans can make to create a better U.S. of A..

The Importance Of Stock Cards
It s an unseasonably warm sunny day in mid November and the frenzy in the air is palpable.
With the ring of a bell an onslaught of haggling, trading and price discovery begins, lasting until
the final bell concludes the madness. As these traders walk through the doors they can t help but
smile, pleased by the day s market action. For some it will be a long 24 hours until recess begins
tomorrow. It was the mid 1990 s and baseball card mania was booming. As an elementary school
student I was in the thick of the action and the playground was my trading floor. At the time
baseball cards were childhood tokens to some while for others the renewed popularity presented a
way to monetize old childhood relics that suddenly had value. Today my... Show more content on

To many however, digital currencies are simply a means to speculative trading. They are not
backed by any government and are not regulated. They do not carry SIPC or FDIC insurance...
and yes, any gains are taxable by the IRS. Digital currency speculators are often seduced by the
siren song of quick profits. Over the past few days Bitcoin mania seems to be frothing at an
increasing rate. Over the weekend digital currency searches were among the top searched apps on
Apple s App Store and one of the most prominent Bitcoin investing websites had trouble keeping
up with demand. There are of course stories of high school drop outs who have become Bitcoin
millionaires. Stories of Bitcoin that has been stolen. And even more astonishing, news stories of
individuals mortgaging their homes so its equity could be invested in Bitcoin. Additionally, this
week the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world s largest options exchange,
launched futures contracts on Bitcoin... so it seems that traditional financial institutions have now
found a way to profit on Bitcoin speculation, a party they have largely been kept out of. If you
find the Bitcoin lure overwhelming ask yourself the following: During the bull market in stocks
over the past 9 years have you ever considered stocks too risky, valuations too frothy, volatility too
fearful? If so, perhaps a speculative investment in Bitcoin may not be an appropriate investment for
you. Most recently, one Bitcoin cost $16,500

Essay on The Process of Gas Metal Arc Welding
Gas metal arc welding, or most commonly referred to as MIG welding is a very common and
sometimes preferred method of welding. Gas metal arc is personally one of the easiest and
controllable welding types there is. Gas metal arc welding was originally made for weld
materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, tin and lead. It was also used on steels, but shielding
gases were highly expensive in the early 1900s limiting GMAW s use on steel. It wasn t till the
mid 1900 s for GMAW to really take off. There were many different variations of arc length,
electrodesize, and power supply units. Since the MIG welder is so versatile, there are many
different types of things to make this piece of equipment.

Most power supplies also have a chart inside of them to set voltage and wire feed depending on
material thickness and electrode size.
Electrode and Shielding Gas Your electrode and both shielding gas can vary for different
materials and highly are affected by material thickness. The electrode is there to make contact to
the wielding surface and should have similar or same compositions as the metal being welded
to. Your shielding gas makes a big difference when welding to, especially with aluminum and
other non ferrous metals. Shielding gases are used because most GMAW welding electrodes
don t have a flux; the gas is used to protect the weld. It is best to use pure inert gases such as
helium and argon for non ferrous metals because of its cleaner and less oxidizing properties.
Carbon dioxide is most commonly used for steel or an inert and carbon dioxide gas mixture. The
carbon dioxide supplies deeper penetration needed for welding steel, but can sometimes cause an
oxidation. Oxygen is even a shielding gas but can cause your material to brittle and can cause
porosity in your weld. Another big part of GMAW and any welding operation is safety!
Safety
Safety when welding is very important and should be considered the most important thing to take
in consideration. You should always wear a very burn resistant glove; leather is commonly used by
most. Next is a wear non tattered or protective clothing just in case some

Use of Tone to Create Mood in D.H. Lawrence s The...
D. H. Lawrence uses tone to create a mood in his short story The Rocking Horse Winner. His
ability to create tone allows us to understand the characters of the story, and enables us to actually
feel as if we are in the story by creating such a vivid mood. Lawrence uses the eyes of the main
character, Paul, to show how he feels about the events taking place, and this in turn helps the reader
empathize with the boy and understand the story. Lawrencealso establishes a theme by allowing
the audience to feel his story. He creates a mood that is conducive to the story and allows the
reader to experience what is going on inside the house. Through the use of tone and mood Lawrence

We understand that when his eyes are bright blue, Paul is very happy and proud of the winnings he
has made at the horse races. Lawrence tells of Paul s closely set eyes that have a blue glare (970)
when he was on his rocking horse, trying to find a winner. Through the analogy we can feel the
intensity that Paul experiences while he is on the rocking horse. Lawrence uses the eyes to
show Paul s excitement when he gets to attend the races. The phrase [h]is eyes were blue fire
(972) illustrates the wild wonder in which he observed the actual race and eyes blazing (972)
shows the thrill he experienced from winning money at these races. As the boy describes to his
Uncle Oscar the way that the voice of the house speaks to him, his eyes [have] an uncanny cold
fire in them (975) which depicts the passionate and intense feelings that he experiences. When
the boy becomes obsessed with winning money, the eyes show his mania. After Lincoln loses
the race and Paul loses fifty pounds, he [becomes] wild eyed and strange, as if something were
going to explode inside of him (976). This change that occurs in Paul s eyes immediately shows
that a change has come over him. His uncle tries to console him, but Paul maintains that he must
win at Derby with his big blue eyes blazing with a sort of madness (977). As Derby draws nearer

Waxco Executive Summary
Waxco has been manufacturing janitorial supplies in the rural district of Lacon, Mississippi for
25 years. Prior to Waxco s arrival, the businesses in Lacon were traveling 70 miles round trip to
purchase cleaning products. Waxco did not offer better pricing, nor did they pitch sales
gimmicks; their competitive advantage was a much needed delivery service. If the company
requesting service from Waxco operated within a 15 mile radius of the warehouse, delivery was
free and estimated at 20 minutes. Any company up to 15 miles outside of the aforestated
coverage area was assessed a fee. As of late, Waxco has been accumulating negative feedback on
its delivery service. The 20 minute expected time of arrival has extended to more than 45

Persian Gulf Iraq War
The Persian Gulf/ Iraq War was one of the longest wars in American history. The Iraq War alone
lasted nine years, and the Persian Gulf War lasted a little over a year. Many veterans faced
hardships upon returning home. These hardships include: illness, homelessness, and unemployment
in the midst of one of America s worst economic depressions in history. Shouldn t veterans be
treated better?
The Persian Gulf War, otherwise known as the Gulf War was an international conflict that began in
August of 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Kuwait is located on the northwestern corner of the
Persian Gulf. Kuwait is considered a wealthy country, with many oil refineries and a great
military advantage with the location along the Gulf ( Kuwait ). Iraq s leader Saddam Hussein,
ordered the invasion, with the goal of gaining possession of large oil reserves and expanding
Iraqi power in Kuwait ( Persian ). On August 3, 1990 the United Nations calls for Iraq to
withdraw their forces from Kuwait. After Iraq fails to cooperate, the United Nations begins a
worldwide ban of trade with Iraq. By January 1991, Iraq had still failed to remove their presence in
Kuwait, the United Nations authorizes the use of excessive force. On January 16, 1991 the United
States lead a massive air campaign against Iraq. Air bombardment began in mission to get Iraq out

Discuss and Analyse the Arguments for and Against Adopting...
Discuss and analyse the arguments for and against adopting a codified constitution in the UK.
A constitution is a set of rules that seek to establish the duties, powers and functions of the various
institutions of government. They also regulate the relationship between and among the institutions
and define the relationship between the state and the individual. There are many different types of
constitutions. The constitution that is in place in the UK is an uncodified one. In other words, it is
not written on a single bill and consists of various written and unwritten sources. An uncodified
constitution is not judiciable, not authorititative and also not entrenched. A codified constitution on
the other hand is written on a single ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This would strengthen citizenship as it creates a clearer sense of political identity which may be
particularly important in an increasingly multicultural society.
One of the strongest arguments in favour of a codified constitution is that a codified constitution
would protect rights. Individual liberty would be more securely protected by a codified constitution
because it would define the relationship between the state and the citizens. As a result of this rights
would be more clearly defined and they would be easier to enforce than with the current uncodified
constitution that exists in the UK. An uncodified constitution can also lead to elective dictatorship
which further restricts rights. One way these rights could be defined is through a bill or rights in
the codified constitution. A bill of rights is a document that specifies the rights and freedoms of the
individual, and so defines the legal extent of civil liberty. In Britain there is no bill of rights on
terrorism legislation which exposes the weak protection of rights that an uncodified constitution
offers.
On the other hand there are many arguments against the idea of a codified constitution. One
argument is that codified constitutions are considered rigid. Higher law is more difficult to change
than statute law. It is easier to and quicker to introduce an Act of Parliament than to amend a
constitution. Uncodified constitutions are flexible as they are not entrenched like codified
constitutions. Due to

The Environmental Impacts Of The Fishing Industry In Tanzania
Introduction
The actions of those who benefit most from capitalism, result in the release of toxic byproducts into
the environments of those they capitalize off of. The people of Tanzania and their natural resources
are a prime example of exploitation. They live in impoverish communities while planes gather
Tanzanian resources and flee to the affluent countries in Europe. Tanzania contributes to the
flourishing of the European economy while dwindling its own, its environmental health, and the
health of its people. Although commentators state the fishing industry is of great assistance to
Tanzania, through job provision, that is just a glorified farce needed by bureaucrats to feel less
cruel while continuing to contribute to an industry truly meant to gut Tanzania for its resources.
The most noteworthy environmental impacts, as a result of the fishing industry, are the various
types of pollution and degradation of the environment, more specifically the aquatic ecosystem.
While many environmental issues are uncovered as the result of exporting Nile Perch,
environmental degradation and pollution are causes for greatest concern.
Degradation of the ecosystem Lake Victoria was known as one of the greatest and largest lakes in
Africa. Although after understanding the outcomes of the fishing industry, in Tanzania, such a title
should be revoked. The lake had an abundant selection of fish calculating up to 400 species. The
vast amount of fishes each had a job. For example, the

blame for the failure to effectively respond to Hurricane Katrina. There was much unfamiliarity
with the revised National Response Plan and the fresh creation of the Department of Homeland

process is sometimes such a painful one. (The U.S. House of Representatives, 2006). During a
hearing held in October 2005, it was said that FEMA had been under funded and under staffed, thus
contributing to the unsuccessful response to Hurricane Katrina. Furthermore, there were claims
that Congress had undermined FEMA s effectiveness when it consolidated with the Department of
Homeland Security. Ultimately, no one knew what role the Department of Homeland Security
played during a disaster situation. Unfortunately, there was a failure of managing the risk factors
associated with an actual hurricane affecting New Orleans. The current emergency plan in place at
the time of Hurricane Katrina only prepared the area for a Category 3 hurricane. No one
anticipated a higher category hurricane could or would hit the area. They took for granted that the
probability of a stronger hurricane occurring was low, thus overlooking major risk management
identifiers. When Hurricane Katrina actually hit, emergency planners were now being reactive

Socrates And The Apology Of Socrates
Socrates is quite the unique individual compared to most, if not all, other Greeks at that time. In
the Apology, Socrates gives an analogy of himself being a gadfly and that his gadfly like actions
are favorable for Athens and that the actions are goods he is providing. From his service he
claims to live a more private life than a public life when discussing virtue. This paper is going to
discuss Socratesand his analogy of a gadfly, approach to others about virtue, his conduct effect on
democracy, and a comparison to a contemporary person that is similar to him. Firstly is Socrates
analogy of himself being a gadfly. He states ... you will not easily find another who, if I may use
a ludicrous comparison, clings to the state as a sort of gadfly to a horse that is large and well
bred but rather sluggish from its size, and needing to be aroused (Mulvaney 24). Socrates has
said before that he absolutely adores Athens. It is known for being a wise and strong city, and he
would not leave Athens. He wants Athens to remain that way and he tries to provoke people to
act that way by examining them. Socrates wanted people to be their true self and improve their
personality. He talks to people in person or small groups and this is where the comparison to a
gadfly can be valid. A gadfly is small compared to a large bulky horse, but when the fly stings the
horse one part will twitch in turn causing another part to twitch. Socrates is the gadfly and his
actions permeate throughout the

Russia, who looking to expand out farther, asked Japan if they could use Fort Arthur for their Navy,

Dionysian Analysis
The Greek demigod Dionysus represents at times the introduction of wine and art, and a balance
between the male and female. Through music, dancing and drinking, people who followed
Dionysian thinking could attempt to reach a new consciousness. This can be seen as a more
balanced or informed way of seeing life: a way that, in the 60s especially, some attempted to
access through the use of LSD or other drugs. Some said that the visions obtained from LSD
allowed them to reach a new consciousness. Dionysian understanding of life requires a broader
focus on a connected society and the hidden qualities, both good and bad, of human nature. In this
sense, Ginsberg has described in the above quote the best minds of his generation being not those...

One cannot hope to improve or to control one s negative and unproductive impulses if one is not
conscious of them. A good example of this is found in business related diversity training. It is
not possible due to human nature to extinguish all bias and prejudgment in society. In fact, some
kinds of bias or prejudgment are very productive such as our instinctive reaction to stay away
from a dark stranger in a dark alleyway. We have judged him without truly knowing him, but
there is a social benefit to that kind of judgment. And we all have our biases. The best way to
avoid letting our biases harm others, however, is to develop our self awareness. We can protect

Baz LuhrmanВґs Version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet...
Baz LuhrmanВґs Version of Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet
One of the characteristics of Elizabethan and also Jacobean drama is the low number of stage
directions and the lack of details they contain. As a logical consequence theatrical representations or
film versions of these ages may allow an important quantity of freedom in the performance. In other
instances stage directions and other important theatrical elements are consciously left aside in order
to create totally different visions of the original idea. That is not the case of Baz LuhrmanВґs
version of Romeo and Juliet filmed in 1996, which despite the numerous alterations of the original
play still retains Shakespeare s initial conception.
On the question of setting, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From all this it follows that these types of alterations produced in the setting are intended to give
the story an faster pace and variety to avoid any sign of statism that is a general tendency of
commercial films.
When dealing with characterisation it is necessary to consider that in Shakespeare s work neither
the Capulets nor the Montagues are clearly seen as good or bad characters. On the contrary,
Luhrman shows Lady and Lord Montague much more moderate and peaceful than the furious
Lord Capulet and his frivolous and unfaithful wife. The representatives of both houses who fight
in 1.1 are also depicted as good or bad characters. The Montagues wear bright and colourful
clothes making jokes and having fun. On the contrary the Capulets appear wearing dark clothes,
serious and defiant and in the fancy dress ball scene while the latter are disguised as skeletons
except for Tybalt, who is characterised as the Devil. Apart from this the Romeo appearing in the
film seems to take their feelings to the limit, and Juliet is more than fourteen years old. The
aforementioned Tybalt is still being the provocative and vindictive character whose behaviour
provokes the tragic ending, however in LuhrmanВґs version he regrets having killed Mercutio and
this is what does not let him neither kill Romeo nor defend from his shots. The most noticeable
change affects Paris since from being the young gallant of the play he turns into an immature and
ridicule millionaire.

Personal Statement Of Environmentalism In An Equivalent To...
In my opinion Environmentalism in many ways is equivalent to Feminism . Both the subjects
have been overlooked in the past by policy makers and corporations, have suffered injustice and
are fighting for their rights. Just as the world cannot progress entirely and achieve its true
potential by leaving one gender behind, in the same way we cannot achieve sustainable
development by ignoring our environment. As a young kid I didn t know what I and billion
other Indians were missing in life until I visited Singapore. I was awe struck by the efficient
public transport, less reliance on private cars for movement, vertical development, cleanliness
and high quality of life. One of the starkest differences that I noticed was how I could not tell the
rich from the poor which is so evident in India. Other thing that I observed was how the entire
city was connected seamlessly. Print media and internet have been a great influence in my life
since my childhood. Since childhood my habit of reading newspaper and magazines have widened

The Council Of Nicaea As An Anti Arian Creed
Controversy
The Council of Nicaea which met in 325 was called by Constantinople in reaction against
Arianism. The Nicene Creed was produced at the Council of Nicaea as an anti Arian Creed
(Lane 29). The Council of Nicaea held that Jesus comes from God, Jesus was at the same level of
authority as God, Jesus is, Son of God, not a creature ( Lane 29), Jesus is, of one substance with
the Father [homoousio] ( Lane 29).
The Council of Constantinople was called in 381 by Theodosius in reaction against three heresies. .
The Council of Constantinople argued against Arianism
Chalcedon by asserting equality and individuality of the trinity (Lane 40). The Council argued
against Macedonianism by asserting the equality of the Holy Spirit in the trinity (Lane 40). Finally
the Council argued against Apollinarianism by asserting Jesus s humanity (Lane 40)
Marcian the emperor called The Council of Chalcedon in 451 ( Lane 60) in reaction against four
heresies. The Council s Definition fought against Arius by proclaiming Jesus s full deity, it fought
against Apollinaris by proclaiming Jesus s full humanity ( Lane 61), it fought against Nestorius by
arguing that deity and humanity are equal in Jesus, and finally they argued against Eutyches by
arguing that deity and humanity should not be confused. According to Lane, Its teaching can be

Uncontrolled Profanity Study
Uncontrolled profanity is found in many neurolinguistics disorders, the most famous is Gilles de la
Tourette syndrome (GTS). GTS, which was first identified by Itard and Gilles de la Tourette in the
1800s, is a hyperkinetic motor speech disorder characterized by frequent involuntary tics, which are
sudden pattern like movements or sounds. Though it is lesser known than Tourette syndrome,
aphasiacan also heavily feature profanity. Aphasia is a clinical language impairment resulting from
damage to the language centers of the brain, usually following a stroke, but it can also come on
slowly from a slow growing brain tumor. The exact specifics of a particular aphasia depend on the
location and severity of the damage. Aphasic individuals have... Show more content on

In fact, through childhood and adolescent trial and error they tested words to see where the line
of appropriateness is drawn in certain social circles. Neuroscientists from Weill Medical College
of Cornell University explored the brain to understand how profanity reverberates inside the
complex wiring of humans minds using the neuroimaging technique PET (positron emission
tomography) scans. By 1999, they found the amygdala, which is responsible for processing
emotion and memory, was highly active when exposed to profanity, But because the amygdala is
also connected to the memory function part of the brain, duplication decreases the activity. If a
child grew up hearing people saying curse words around their friends, the possibility of curse
words shocking you in other social circles lowers. In particular, amygdala activity is correlated
with negative emotional associations. Stimulating the amygdala can cause panic attacks and
aggressive behaviors while destroying the amygdala causes unusual placidness or fearlessness
Therefore; it makes sense that the amygdala would be activated in association with unpleasant
words such as Profanity. The amygdala also makes several connections to memory and association
centers in the brain, which could also be responsible for the increased memory skills when subjects

The proposed sale of Hershey Foods Corporation (HFC) during the summer of 2002 captured
headlines and imaginations. After all, Hershey was an American icon, and when the company s
largest shareholder, the Hershey Trust Company(HSY), asked HFC management to explore a sale,
the story drew national and international attention. The company s unusual governance structure put

Jealousy By William Shakespeare s Proverbs
In Proverbs 6:34 it is written, For jealousy makes a man furious, and he will not spare when he
takes revenge. Jealousy is an emotion that often makes each of us act and react in a bad way.
Some pout, some stomp the ground and shake their fist and still others yell and scream. Some
people do all of these things at the same time. Revenge is an act, based on an emotion. But is it
formed from the same emotion as jealousy? Or is jealous and revenge separate in formation and
emotion? Many people find revenge to be an extension of jealousy, anger, envy, etc. and are
therefore similar in both formation and emotion. I believe jealousy and revenge are separate
emotions yet similar in formation. Jealousy is an emotion but revenge puts that emotion into
action. Jealousy is an emotion tinged with feelings like anger, insecurity, fear, and resentment.
(ppedia). Jealousy isn t something we can control most of the time. It is a natural, built in emotion
that we all experience at some point. Most of the time jealousy comes from self pity and
insecurity. Hands down, insecurity is the most common source of jealousy writes Dr. Seth Meyers
in Psychology Today. Curbing our jealousy can be difficult, but it is necessary if we want to move
forward and have healthy relationships. Uncontrolled jealousy often causes people to do things they
wouldn t normally do. Small, self perceived insults add fuel to flame our already heightened
emotions. This uncontrolled emotion can lead to

2.2.2. Social Media and Employee Voice
However, until recently, most of the organisations s social media strategy of human resource
management put emphasis on recruitment and neglect an important audience within the
organisation: their own people (CIPD, 2013). Social media could be a power tool not only for
establishing external interaction between employers and job seekers, but also for maintaining
internal relationships between employers and employees. Furthermore, technology has blurred the
physical boundaries between work and home and the recent years have seen the development of
various type of employment such as teleworkers or outsourcing (Mustafa and Gold, 2013). For
example, employees knowledge, experience, and talent are often underutilized when a workforce is
dispersed over functional areas, departments, and the globe. Moreover, the multinational
corporation in the global community has increased dramatically which means employees might
have a great possibility to work across the globe. Given the emergence of teleworkers and global
workforce, an effective communication system plays a pivotal role in managing relationship with
both traditional and non traditional workers within organisations. Thus, many businesses have
increasingly adopted a virtual approach to workspace (Kayworth and Leidner, 2000;

Cobra Effect Essay
Have you ever said something with wholly good intentions only to find that you ve accidentally
upset the person you re speaking to? It happens to the best of us, often when it is least expected.
What we are running into are unintended consequences, or unforeseen repercussions, that result
from lack of forethought. In some cases, these repercussions can be worse than the initial problem
that was meant to be solved. The cobra effect is the term used to describe a situation in which a
solution only serves to make a problem worse. As the cobra effect demonstrates, actions can have
unintended consequences, and forethought should be taken to predict and prevent such
consequences. Unintended consequences are an unfavorable fact of life, but they can be avoided.

The streisand effect is an internet phenomenon in which attempting to suppress or cover up
information online causes the spread of said information to increase at a faster rate. This term was
coined in 2003, when singer Barbra Streisand sued a photography website for including pictures of
her cliffside mansion on their website. By raising a fuss, she drew attention to the matter, which
only caused more people to hear about it. The information Streisand tried to suppress exploded
across the internet, completely undermining her efforts and only magnifying the situation(T.C.).
The streisand effect is now a common occurrence on the internet, and deleting negative or
unwanted information usually leads to more issues. This is because the information can saved
elsewhere before it is deleted, and can be re posted by others. Deleting a post can also be seen as
confirmation or an admission of guilt, which can lead to more trouble. This is a case in which a
person can either deal with the problem at hand, or risk aggravating it, which in turn exemplifies
that unintended consequences are sometimes

Siddhartha s Journey Of Enlightenment Essay
Vedant Patel Mr. Kadar / Mr. Herzenberg Period 4 November 9, 2015Siddhartha s journey to
enlightenment can be described by three terms that are described in Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse.
Siddhartha goes through many challenges and suffers in his journey to reach Nirvana. He wants to
be enlightened one, one without fear to anything. He wants to keep continue his path to Nirvana.
He leaves everything behind and keeps going towards his goal. The terms are very significant in
Siddhartha s life because the word Om guides him to perfection and oneness, he goes through many
challenges to reach Nirvana, and the term Samsara makes him keep going in his life. The term Om
is seen throughout Siddhartha s journey in finding enlightenment. The word Om keeps him in the
touch with the universe. When Siddhartha gets into conflicts, Om saves him. When Siddhartha
listened attentively to this river, to this song of thousands voices; when he did not listen to the
sorrow or laughter, when he did not bind his soul to any one particular voice and absorb it in his
Self, but heard them all, the whole, the unity; then the great song of thousand voices consisted of
one word: Om Perfection (Hesse 136). The word Om helps him to realize that he is not desiring
anything, that he has reached the oneness. He is out of every conflicts and he is united with
everything. When he hears the word Om, he reaches Nirvana. At that moment, when the sound of
Om reached Siddhartha s ears, his slumbering soul

Thus, the apparent lack of a motherly figure further distances Aureliano Babilonia from the typical
love children experience, likely contributing to his reserved and initially tentative nature. Rather
than growing up like the other children of the BuendГa family, Fernanda locks Aureliano Babilonia
in Colonel Aureliano BuendГa s workshop. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future
obsession of studying MelquГades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and

adequate amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy,
leading to a more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions
and developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely
devoid of human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of

The Food Safety Is A Highly Overlooked Essay
Food safety is a highly overlooked yet crucial aspect of the food industry, as evident in the
deadly 1993 Escherichia Coli outbreak in multiple Jack in the Box locations. Escherichia Coli is
prevalent in raw and undercooked ground beef, which is a common food item on the Jack in the
Box menu; the bacterial contamination during the slaughtering process of the meat lead to this

if it were not for Jack in the Box s meat supplier Vons, Foodmaker s vice president of technical

Excessive release of this chemical leads to sleeplessness that affects normal human cycle. This
contributes immensely to regular and sustained burnouts due to sleep deprivation (Seib, Whiteside,
Humphrey, Lee, Thomas, Chopin, ... Anderson, 2014). Additionally, catecholamines affect the
frontal region of the brain, which is instrumental in short term and long term memories (King,
Lloyd Holewa, 2008). This leads to poor memory and retention capacity. Acute stress tends to have a
long term mental health impact that affects multiple regions.
The second response mechanism towards stress is by the heart, circulatory system and the lungs
(Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). Uncontrolled release of metabolic signals leads to poor digestion
and absorption of bear. As the concentration of bear increases, the heart beat increases to try and
distribute the concentration of bear to other parts of the body, which leads to an increase in blood
pressure (Seib et al., 2014; Wells, 2013). To country oxygen demand, the breathing system
suddenly increases as the lungs take in as much oxygen as they possibly can to satisfy its shortage
in the blood stream (Wells, 2013). On the other hand, the spleen increases discharge of white and
red blood cells to ensure that more blood cells are available to transport excess oxygen throughout
the circulatory system. Research has

server headquarters. This main location would be home to six servers, two of them being print
servers and the other four each hosting their own specific applications to all of the workstations in
the network. The first of the four servers would hold the business management applications needed
by any of the accountants or human resource teams. The second would hold the medical managing
software that would hold all patient information, insurance, and bills that could be accessed from
any of the 5 office locations in the network for both doctor and patient convenience. The third will
be used to host a web server and the final system will be used as a domain controller that will

Each doctor, nurse and member of the staff will have access to their own workstation, a Dell
Vostro 260 Slim. These desktops will come with their own twenty four inch wide monitor and
one year of Dell ProSupport all at a cost of $654 for each. Each of the five buildings was specified

Fibromyalgia Definition
In a literal translation fibromyalgia means muscle fiber pain. It is a chronic pain disorder that
causes pain and tenderness in the muscle to the touch. By affecting the way your brain processes
pain signals, researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies those sensations. Robert Bennett MD,
explains that different parts of the brain are involved in painreactions. Pain sensation is necessary;
it serves as a reflex to avoid discomfort. This unconscious reflex of avoidance causes the brain to
swiftly react, before the actual awareness of the pain sensation occurs. This chronic disorder causes
widespread body pain, fatigue, tension headache, digestive problems, depression, anxiety and
temporomandibular joint disorder. To have an accurate diagnosis for fibromyalgia health
professionals rely on physical examination, a precise tender point examination, and the patient s
history.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, there is a specific criterion for identifying fibromyalgia. Sometimes fibromyalgia is
confused with rheumatoid arthritis or lupus and other conditions like hypothyroidism and
polymyalgia rheumatic which mimics fibromyalgia. First, doctors need to base the pain and
symptoms by the level of severity and the total number out of nineteen painful areas of the body.
Then if for at least three months the symptoms remain at a similar level of discomfort and from
the results of x rays and blood test determining no other heath issues. The conclusion could then
only be fibromyalgia. Scientist discovered that women are more than likely to be diagnosis with
this disease. They have also determined that a patient is prone to develop fibromyalgia if the
family history has relative conditions, as well as rheumatic diseases like

The students will:
Read through the four scenarios. The students will answer the two questions in groups of 3 4
students that go with the scenarios. Then as groups, the students will discuss the question which
includes how they would feel if they were the person in the situation who had the negative

Why It Happened One Night
The film It Happened One Night first appeared in movie theaters in 1934. It was not recorded in
color, the film is black and white and takes place around the same time as it was filmed mid 1930 s.
When it was released the film was accepted with high praise partly for the story and also for the
acting
done by some of Hollywood s finest at the time. During the Film Ellie Andrews played by Claudette
Colbert runs away from her wealthy father who is trying to keep her away from the man she loves.
When she finds an opportunity she jumps ship and dresses like the average woman during the time.
She
then takes the bus from Miami to New York, however before the bus departs from the station she
meets

The suit is likely made up of cotton and the tie of silk. However the
dress that Ellie Andrews purchases in the station off of some women she meets looks soft and
flimsy.
The difference in income level between the two characters is large. Although both characters spend
most of their time together in a bus and in cheap living spaces there are short moments where the
film
shows where the characters belong. In the beginning of the film Ellie Andrews spends her time
being
held hostage by her father on a yacht. This first scene shows her living on a big yacht with servants
that
bring her food and tend to her every need. Peter Warne on the other hand spends his time in the
newspaper station he works at. For the most part the sets in the film are small and do not allow for
much space to move. For example when the characters are on the bus there is hardly an opportunity
for
them to sit next to each other. Even the hotels they stay in is just small enough for the two of them to
live in.
The film It Happened One Night was shot both in a studio and on location this can be seen
throughout the film. Most of the scenes where the characters are indoors such as the hotels they stay

What Is Aeneas Carrying Anchises
These three works of art I have chosen is a painted vase called Aeneas carries Anchises , a coin
called Aeneas carrying Anchises on left shoulder , and lastly an etching called Aeneas carrying
Anchises. All three of these works are very similar when it comes to the theme. The theme is
obviously the Greek and Roman myth of Aeneascarrying his father, Anchises, on his back.
Although the theme is the same on all works of art, there are some minor details that set these
figures apart. The first work of art pictured (figure 1), is the vase of Aeneas carries Anchises that
was made in the 5th century of BCE. In this work of art Aeneas is fully equipped in armor and
weapons. He is built strong and sturdy and seems to have no trouble carrying his father on his
back. Anchises is also holding a weapon of some sort, only holding on to Aeneas with one arm.
Both Aeneas and Anchises are painted to be strong and ready for battle. Many works of art
focusing on this particular theme are not depicted this way.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

This was done in 47 BCE. The coin shows Aeneas as the biggest figure among the three figures
shown. On Aeneas back is his father, Anchises, and in Aeneas right hand is his son, Ascanius.
Aeneas is portrayed as stout and muscular in this artwork but unlike figure 1, he is almost
completely unclothed. Another difference between figure 1 and 2 is Aeneas holding the
Household of Gods and in figure 1 Anchises is holding the Household of Gods. Anchises is
clothed but has no armor and seems to be grasping Aeneas with both arms. This goes to show how
much more dependent Anchises is on Aeneas to carry him from the burning city of Troy compared

The Preservation of Chinatown in Philadelphia
In order for Philadelphia to maintain its rich culture and diversity, Chinatown must be preserved.
Chinatown has become a centerpiece of Philadelphia for tourist and residents alike to experience
eastern culture. The people are friendly, there are plenty of strangers on the streets, and plenty late
night business and as Jane Jacobs would describe it, successful (35). Therefore as a public space
that is suitable to the public it should be preserved. However, it is the target for many developers. In
the past there have been numerous attempts to develop the Chinatown district, all of which would
have compromised the integrity of Chinatown, which has been around since the late 1800s. The
Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corporation, or the PCDC, was founded because of these
threats to Chinatown and has constantly fought off development threats to Chinatown (Lechner).
However, the developments that were constructed including the Vine Street Expressway and several
urban renewal projects south of Chinatown have effectively stopped growth in those areas. Because
of limited space and growing population further developments have been shot down rather quickly
by residents including the Foxwood Casino and in 2004 the construction of the new Phillies
stadium.
One of the first of many barrages of developmental destructions of Chinatown was the
reconstruction of the Vine Street

Understudies In The Vietnam War Essay

the Tinkers addressed the Supreme Court. In a 7 2 decision, the Supreme Court chose that the

Family Values In American Family
In 1840s, Asian American community began to be formed when a large number of Chinese
immigrants arrived in the United States as contract laborers. Immigration from Asian countries has
increased since 1970s. The two types of Asian immigrants coming to America at this time were
voluntarily immigrants and refugees. While Korean, Chinese, Taiwanese are immigrants who came
to the United Statesfor business purposes, Vietnamese, Laos, and Cambodian are refugees who tried
to escape their countries in the World War II.
The majority of Asian Americanfirst generation come from a strong tradition of extended and
kinship ties. Although these ties are disconnected during migration, they have been quickly
reconstructed to shape family patterns in the historical periods (Zhou 29). Contemporary Asian
immigrants from different countries of origin mostly come with their families. They also bring their
cultures and values in their home country to the United States. There are some common family
values in the Asian American family that are distinguishable, such as emphasis on the centrality of
the family, filial piety, respect for the elders, and reverence for tradition and education. While these
traditional values offer a strong moral basis sustaining the Asian American family, they have often
clashed with dominant American cultural values and have caused emotional pain and detrimental
consequences in the family and community (Zhou 30). Other than that, when the first wave of

Pakistan Is The Most Misunderstood Country
A country has been ranked second in the list of most negatively rated countries in the world by a
global poll for BBC World Service, which surveyed 24,090 people around the world in 2012. And
that country is Pakistan Land of Pure .
The area of Pakistan is 880,940 square km (340,133 square miles). It is divided into 4 provinces;
Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan along with federally administered areas.
The country shares borders with Afghanistan to the northwest, China to the north, India to the south
and east, and Iran to the west. The border with India is subject to dispute, with both nations
claiming the mountain regions of Kashmir and Jammu.
Pakistan is the most misunderstood country in the world and the phenomenon of terrorism and
religious extremism, arguably, is a leading factor in distorting its image on the global level.
Pakistan as a front line state in the war on terror has suffered the most in men and material, has
helped in dismantling the terrorist network of Osama bin Laden but regrettably our allies and
western countries look suspiciously at our endeavors, doubt our commitment to the cause at hand
and decidedly remain oblivious to our national and strategic interests in the region.
Pakistan is suffering from an acute image problem. No one disagrees not even I. Look at the
reports of terrorism emanating from our soil, splashed all across the global media; Pakistani
passport being reduced to a document that raises eyebrows at airports rather

Clothing In Their Eyes Were Watching God
Janie Crawford: The Woman Whose Clothing Conveys Her Relationships In Zora Neale Hurston
s Their Eyes Were Watching God, the protagonist, Janie, endures two marriages before finding
true love. In each of Janie s marriages, a particular article of clothing is used to symbolically
reflect, not only her attitude at different phases in her life, but how she is treated in each
relationship. In Janie s first marriagewith Logan Killicks, an apron is used to symbolize the
obligation in her marriage. Ah ll cut de p taters fuh yuh... When Janie had finished indoors she
sat down in the barn with the potatoes (27). The apron represents Janie s role in the marriage as
a farm hand, which is not similar to the beloved role that Janie yearns for in marriage. Janie
envisions her marriage as a bond between a couple that is not affected by gender roles but by love,
but the apron suggests that her purpose in marriage is to abide by Killicks rule. Furthermore,
Janie decides to find more in her life, specifically love, and leaves Logan for Joe Starks; Janie
expresses her freedom by tossing her apron away. The narrator states, That made her feel the
apron tied around her waist. She untied it and flung it on a low bush beside the road and walked
on... (32). The apron s removal reflects Janie s way of displaying that she is breaking away the
bonds of her marriage with Killicks, and the emotional restrictions she suffered. The emotional
restrictions that Janie experiences are due to her lack

The Worker Management Techniques Essay
Film History In the Silent Era:
The Worker Management Techniques and Capitalist Vertical Integration
Within Hollywood
The film industry would have never taken the direction it did without the incorporation of certain
worker management techniques and capitalist vertical integration pioneered by the founders of
Hollywood. The methods of operation that Hollywood established in the realms of production,
manufacturing, exhibition and distribution of film has shaped the face of the industry to how we
recognize it today.

The Trust attempted to control the industry by charging rental fees for cameras and projectors,
and by inflating the cost of film. These tactics proved to be unsuccessful with the swift and
adverse emergence of Hollywood producers, unsatisfied with the conditions by which they were
forced to operate beneath the Trust. Many of these independent figures founded the companies we
are so accustomed to presently. Adolph Zukor founded Paramount, William Fox founded 20th
Century Fox, Carl Laemmle founded Universal, and Marcus Loew founded what would
eventually be known as Metro Goldwyn Mayer. The warm temperature and year round sunlight of
the west coast was very beneficial for the new studios. This along with low land costs and no real
established union allowed producers to focus more on the content of their output. These studios
along with others were quick to brand their individual products and began to make innovations in
the medium of film as an art form. Actual plays, novels and magazine content became incorporated
into the development of stronger and more interesting plots. 1 These studios were producing
complex stories for their films in order to make them longer and of superior quality to the Trust s

for their dismissal was a report on December 15, 1950 by the US State committee. Its assertion
against homosexuals hinges on the opinions of contemporary authorities such as doctors,

Connectivity And Coverage Of Wsns Are Based On Upon A Lot...
The research efforts that addressed for the connectivity and coverage issues in WSNs are based on
upon a lot of theories and assumptions. The basic concepts of connectivity and coverage are
essential for understanding this issue. In this section, we describe the notions of connectivity and
coverage, the category of sensor nodes, sensing models and communication models.
A.Connectivity and coverage
We consider a WSN in which the sensor nodes have both sensing ability and short distance wireless
communication ability. The objective of the deployment of the WSN is to keep the FoI under strict
surveillance/collect data and then forward the obtained information to a designated gateway/data
sink. Hence, coverage and connectivity are the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, we consider this connected WSN as 1 connected. Depends on the different connectivity
/failure resilience requirement, the stronger types of connectivity need to be considered, i.e., k
connectivity. Based on the definition of connectivity in the graph theory, which is it asks for the
minimum number of elements (nodes or edges) that need to be removed to disconnect the
remaining nodes from each other , k connectivity means that the network can keep its
connectivity by removing at most k 1 nodes from itself. In this case, a network with k
connectivity and k 1 has much better fault tolerance/resilience than a network with only 1
connectivity. Since the nodes in a WSN could be failed randomly which are caused by battery
depletion or wireless interference, preserving the k connectivity is critical for WSN and could
extend the life time of a WSN. Li et al. [6] provided a good survey on connectivity and coverage in
WSNs.
Besides the connectivity, the concept of coverage is another fundamental need to be understood
for designing a WSN based system. The coverage is always considered as a measurable metric to
evaluate the level of the monitoring for a specific FoI. Based on specified requirements of different
applications, the

  • 2. Down Syndrome And The Human Body We all love amazing smiles and infectious eyes and hugs. Down syndrome occurs in people of all races and economic levels. Who are we to judge when we all bleed the same blood. Down syndrome is only a part of them and not how they are defined. No one is greater than another no matter what the situation. In every cell in the human body there is a nucleus, where genetic material is stored in genes. Genes carry the codes responsible for all of our inherited traits and are grouped along rod like structures called chromosomes. Typically, the nucleus of each cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, half of which are inherited from each parent. Down syndromeoccurs when an individual has a full or partial extra copy of chromosome21. This additional genetic material alters the course of development and causes the characteristics associated with Down syndrome. A few of the common physical traits of Down syndrome are low muscle tone, small stature, an upward slant to the eyes, and a single deep crease across the center of the palm although each person with Down syndrome is a unique individual and may possess these characteristics to different degrees, or not at all. One in every 691 babies in the the United States is born with Down syndrome, making Down syndrome the most common genetic condition. Approximately 400,000 Americans have Down syndrome and about 6,000 babies with Down syndrome are born in the United States each year. For centuries, people with Down syndrome have been ... • 3. A Serene Proposition Of Noise Pollution A Serene Proposition For getting rid of all unwanted noises across the United States, and for making a better and peaceful America. It is a disturbing noise to those fellow Americans who desire to sleep in past six o clock in the morning, when they hear an ambulance rushing to the house around the block, a lawnmower eating up grass outside a neighbor s yard, or a blender that a wife started to make herself a post run smoothie. These noises do not just stop there however, they are around every corner of the daily American routine. Awakened not by the rays of the sun that these citizens have set the night before but by an airplane s propeller, these civilians wake up to their first encounter with the awful noise pollution that grows louder ... Cutting 280 blades of grass every three seconds, one would finish the yard in approximately four thousand sixty six minutes and without a sound. That s about three days nonstop, so a more realistically, it would take a week to two weeks for a nicely cut yard. Coincidentally, it takes two to three weeks for the grass to grow tall enough to cut it again. Just like we Americans load up laundry over and over again, we will do this for the lawn. Yes, we already do this but now it won t be such a burden on our ears. The lawn moweris just an example of many possible changes that we Americans can make to create a better U.S. of A.. • 4. The Importance Of Stock Cards It s an unseasonably warm sunny day in mid November and the frenzy in the air is palpable. With the ring of a bell an onslaught of haggling, trading and price discovery begins, lasting until the final bell concludes the madness. As these traders walk through the doors they can t help but smile, pleased by the day s market action. For some it will be a long 24 hours until recess begins tomorrow. It was the mid 1990 s and baseball card mania was booming. As an elementary school student I was in the thick of the action and the playground was my trading floor. At the time baseball cards were childhood tokens to some while for others the renewed popularity presented a way to monetize old childhood relics that suddenly had value. Today my... They do not carry SIPC or FDIC insurance... and yes, any gains are taxable by the IRS. Digital currency speculators are often seduced by the siren song of quick profits. Over the past few days Bitcoin mania seems to be frothing at an increasing rate. Over the weekend digital currency searches were among the top searched apps on Apple s App Store and one of the most prominent Bitcoin investing websites had trouble keeping up with demand. There are of course stories of high school drop outs who have become Bitcoin millionaires. Stories of Bitcoin that has been stolen. Additionally, this week the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE), the world s largest options exchange, launched futures contracts on Bitcoin... so it seems that traditional financial institutions have now found a way to profit on Bitcoin speculation, a party they have largely been kept out of. If you find the Bitcoin lure overwhelming ask yourself the following: During the bull market in stocks over the past 9 years have you ever considered stocks too risky, valuations too frothy, volatility too fearful? Gas metal arc is personally one of the easiest and controllable welding types there is. Gas metal arc welding was originally made for weld materials such as aluminum, copper, brass, tin and lead. The electrode is there to make contact to the wielding surface and should have similar or same compositions as the metal being welded to. Your shielding gas makes a big difference when welding to, especially with aluminum and other non ferrous metals. Shielding gases are used because most GMAW welding electrodes don t have a flux; the gas is used to protect the weld. It is best to use pure inert gases such as helium and argon for non ferrous metals because of its cleaner and less oxidizing properties. Carbon dioxide is most commonly used for steel or an inert and carbon dioxide gas mixture. The carbon dioxide supplies deeper penetration needed for welding steel, but can sometimes cause an oxidation. Oxygen is even a shielding gas but can cause your material to brittle and can cause porosity in your weld. Another big part of GMAW and any welding operation is safety! Prior to Waxco s arrival, the businesses in Lacon were traveling 70 miles round trip to purchase cleaning products. Waxco did not offer better pricing, nor did they pitch sales gimmicks; their competitive advantage was a much needed delivery service. The Iraq War alone lasted nine years, and the Persian Gulf War lasted a little over a year. Many veterans faced hardships upon returning home. These hardships include: illness, homelessness, and unemployment in the midst of one of America s worst economic depressions in history. Shouldn t veterans be treated better? The Persian Gulf War, otherwise known as the Gulf War was an international conflict that began in August of 1990 when Iraq invaded Kuwait. Kuwait is located on the northwestern corner of the Persian Gulf. Kuwait is considered a wealthy country, with many oil refineries and a great military advantage with the location along the Gulf ( Kuwait ). Iraq s leader Saddam Hussein, ordered the invasion, with the goal of gaining possession of large oil reserves and expanding Iraqi power in Kuwait ( Persian ). On August 3, 1990 the United Nations calls for Iraq to withdraw their forces from Kuwait. After Iraq fails to cooperate, the United Nations begins a worldwide ban of trade with Iraq. By January 1991, Iraq had still failed to remove their presence in Kuwait, the United Nations authorizes the use of excessive force. A constitution is a set of rules that seek to establish the duties, powers and functions of the various institutions of government. They also regulate the relationship between and among the institutions and define the relationship between the state and the individual. There are many different types of constitutions. The constitution that is in place in the UK is an uncodified one. In other words, it is not written on a single bill and consists of various written and unwritten sources. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This would strengthen citizenship as it creates a clearer sense of political identity which may be particularly important in an increasingly multicultural society. One of the strongest arguments in favour of a codified constitution is that a codified constitution would protect rights. Individual liberty would be more securely protected by a codified constitution because it would define the relationship between the state and the citizens. As a result of this rights would be more clearly defined and they would be easier to enforce than with the current uncodified constitution that exists in the UK. An uncodified constitution can also lead to elective dictatorship which further restricts rights. One way these rights could be defined is through a bill or rights in the codified constitution. A bill of rights is a document that specifies the rights and freedoms of the individual, and so defines the legal extent of civil liberty. In Britain there is no bill of rights on terrorism legislation which exposes the weak protection of rights that an uncodified constitution offers. On the other hand there are many arguments against the idea of a codified constitution. One argument is that codified constitutions are considered rigid. Higher law is more difficult to change than statute law. It is easier to and quicker to introduce an Act of Parliament than to amend a constitution. Uncodified constitutions are flexible as they are not entrenched like codified constitutions. Due to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. The Environmental Impacts Of The Fishing Industry In Tanzania Introduction The actions of those who benefit most from capitalism, result in the release of toxic byproducts into the environments of those they capitalize off of. The people of Tanzania and their natural resources are a prime example of exploitation. They live in impoverish communities while planes gather Tanzanian resources and flee to the affluent countries in Europe. Tanzania contributes to the flourishing of the European economy while dwindling its own, its environmental health, and the health of its people. Although commentators state the fishing industry is of great assistance to Tanzania, through job provision, that is just a glorified farce needed by bureaucrats to feel less cruel while continuing to contribute to an industry truly meant to gut Tanzania for its resources. The most noteworthy environmental impacts, as a result of the fishing industry, are the various types of pollution and degradation of the environment, more specifically the aquatic ecosystem. While many environmental issues are uncovered as the result of exporting Nile Perch, environmental degradation and pollution are causes for greatest concern. Degradation of the ecosystem Lake Victoria was known as one of the greatest and largest lakes in Africa. Although after understanding the outcomes of the fishing industry, in Tanzania, such a title should be revoked. The lake had an abundant selection of fish calculating up to 400 species. The unfortunate thing is that the learning process is sometimes such a painful one. (The U.S. House of Representatives, 2006). During a hearing held in October 2005, it was said that FEMA had been under funded and under staffed, thus contributing to the unsuccessful response to Hurricane Katrina. Furthermore, there were claims that Congress had undermined FEMA s effectiveness when it consolidated with the Department of Homeland Security. Ultimately, no one knew what role the Department of Homeland Security played during a disaster situation. Some people do all of these things at the same time. Revenge is an act, based on an emotion. But is it formed from the same emotion as jealousy? Or is jealous and revenge separate in formation and emotion? Many people find revenge to be an extension of jealousy, anger, envy, etc. and are therefore similar in both formation and emotion. The streisand effect is an internet phenomenon in which attempting to suppress or cover up information online causes the spread of said information to increase at a faster rate. This term was coined in 2003, when singer Barbra Streisand sued a photography website for including pictures of her cliffside mansion on their website. By raising a fuss, she drew attention to the matter, which only caused more people to hear about it. The information Streisand tried to suppress exploded across the internet, completely undermining her efforts and only magnifying the situation(T.C.). The streisand effect is now a common occurrence on the internet, and deleting negative or unwanted information usually leads to more issues. This is because the information can saved elsewhere before it is deleted, and can be re posted by others. Deleting a post can also be seen as confirmation or an admission of guilt, which can lead to more trouble. This is a case in which a person can either deal with the problem at hand, or risk aggravating it, which in turn exemplifies that unintended consequences are sometimes ... • 33. Siddhartha s Journey Of Enlightenment Essay Vedant Patel Mr. Kadar / Mr. Herzenberg Period 4 November 9, 2015Siddhartha s journey to enlightenment can be described by three terms that are described in Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse. Siddhartha goes through many challenges and suffers in his journey to reach Nirvana. He wants to be enlightened one, one without fear to anything. He wants to keep continue his path to Nirvana. He leaves everything behind and keeps going towards his goal. The terms are very significant in Siddhartha s life because the word Om guides him to perfection and oneness, he goes through many challenges to reach Nirvana, and the term Samsara makes him keep going in his life. The term Om is seen throughout Siddhartha s journey in finding enlightenment. The word Om keeps him in the touch with the universe. When Siddhartha gets into conflicts, Om saves him. When Siddhartha listened attentively to this river, to this song of thousands voices; when he did not listen to the sorrow or laughter, when he did not bind his soul to any one particular voice and absorb it in his Self, but heard them all, the whole, the unity; then the great song of thousand voices consisted of one word: Om Perfection (Hesse 136). The word Om helps him to realize that he is not desiring anything, that he has reached the oneness. He is out of every conflicts and he is united with everything. When he hears the word Om, he reaches Nirvana. At that moment, when the sound of Om reached Siddhartha s ears, his slumbering soul ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many Cycles Differ Slightly From Year To Year, Decade To Many cycles differ slightly from year to year, decade to decade; for example, the climate, economies, and wars all follow their own rollercoaster like paths that adjust slightly after each run. This pattern of repetition with a difference recurs throughout Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez s magical realist novel One Hundred Years of Solitude. The story follows the generations of the BuendГa familyin the town of Macondo. However, the spiral the family follows collapses inward on itself with each passing generation, eventually culminating with Aureliano Babilonia, the last survivor of the BuendГa family. Thus, the apparent lack of a motherly figure further distances Aureliano Babilonia from the typical love children experience, likely contributing to his reserved and initially tentative nature. Rather than growing up like the other children of the BuendГa family, Fernanda locks Aureliano Babilonia in Colonel Aureliano BuendГa s workshop. His infancy spent in the workshop shapes his future obsession of studying MelquГades parchments, as he likely associates the workshop with safety and comfort, and naturally absorbs himself into every aspect of the room. This suggests that, without an adequate amount of human interaction, one is largely shaped by their surroundings during infancy, leading to a more analytical or observant nature that arises in place of observing human interactions and developing connections with others. However, Aureliano Babilonia s youth is not entirely devoid of human contact. At around three years old, he escapes the workshop, appearing in front of Aureliano Segundo, his grandfather, as if he were not a human child but the encyclopedia definition of a cannibal (294). By affecting the way your brain processes pain signals, researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies those sensations. This unconscious reflex of avoidance causes the brain to swiftly react, before the actual awareness of the pain sensation occurs. This chronic disorder causes widespread body pain, fatigue, tension headache, digestive problems, depression, anxiety and temporomandibular joint disorder. What Is Aeneas Carrying Anchises These three works of art I have chosen is a painted vase called Aeneas carries Anchises , a coin called Aeneas carrying Anchises on left shoulder , and lastly an etching called Aeneas carrying Anchises. All three of these works are very similar when it comes to the theme. The theme is obviously the Greek and Roman myth of Aeneascarrying his father, Anchises, on his back. The first work of art pictured (figure 1), is the vase of Aeneas carries Anchises that was made in the 5th century of BCE. In this work of art Aeneas is fully equipped in armor and weapons. Its assertion against homosexuals hinges on the opinions of contemporary authorities such as doctors, psychologist, law enforcement and various other specialists of human behavior. The consensus created from these experts describes homosexualityas psychologically created, an emotional stunted individual, and was curable but requires the effort of the homosexual individual. These views present the fear of anything that does not adhere to the strict definitions of genderroles, and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 53. Connectivity And Coverage Of Wsns Are Based On Upon A Lot... The research efforts that addressed for the connectivity and coverage issues in WSNs are based on upon a lot of theories and assumptions. The basic concepts of connectivity and coverage are essential for understanding this issue. In this section, we describe the notions of connectivity and coverage, the category of sensor nodes, sensing models and communication models. A.Connectivity and coverage We consider a WSN in which the sensor nodes have both sensing ability and short distance wireless communication ability. The objective of the deployment of the WSN is to keep the FoI under strict surveillance/collect data and then forward the obtained information to a designated gateway/data sink. Hence, coverage and connectivity are the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, we consider this connected WSN as 1 connected. Depends on the different connectivity /failure resilience requirement, the stronger types of connectivity need to be considered, i.e., k connectivity. Based on the definition of connectivity in the graph theory, which is it asks for the minimum number of elements (nodes or edges) that need to be removed to disconnect the remaining nodes from each other , k connectivity means that the network can keep its connectivity by removing at most k 1 nodes from itself. In this case, a network with k connectivity and k 1 has much better fault tolerance/resilience than a network with only 1 connectivity. Since the nodes in a WSN could be failed randomly which are caused by battery depletion or wireless interference, preserving the k connectivity is critical for WSN and could extend the life time of a WSN. Li et al. [6] provided a good survey on connectivity and coverage in WSNs. Besides the connectivity, the concept of coverage is another fundamental need to be understood for designing a WSN based system. The coverage is always considered as a measurable metric to evaluate the level of the monitoring for a specific FoI. Based on specified requirements of different applications, the ...
