Taxation Essay
In America, the powerful and wealthy are able to abuse the taxation system to their benefit, and this
paper will demonstrate how this is done and the solutions to those problems, as well as refute the
opposition. America has had it s moments of glory and triumph yet also it s moments of failure and
loss. However, it seems nearly impossible to predict an economic recession or a war, so one can never
know when tough times are approaching. Currently, America is in the second longest period of stock
market growth, ever. The natural conclusion, then, is that the economy here is healthy and strong, and
that this growth will continue. Unfortunately, however, America s stock market is in for a correction
sooner or later, because the wealth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the maximum tax rate on normal income is 39.6%, the maximum tax rate on capital gains,
which is how many investors become rich, is 20%( How are capital gains taxed? ). In fact, investor
and billionaire Warren Buffett said that in his taxes, he Pays a lower rate than his secretary (HOAR).
Does it honestly make sense that a man with 77 billion dollars pays less in taxes than his secretary? It
is evident that capital gains taxed at such a low rate encourage this. The third loophole, and the
product of politicians and wealthy citizens of the state of Kansas, is a 0% tax rate on Limited Liability
Companies, or LLCs. The idea for the tax break was to give the state s economy a Shot of Adrenaline ,
and it allowed thousands of corporations to pay little in taxes. This means that those companies could
employ more people, and spend more money on research and development. So how could this be
negative? In short, it allowed individuals to form Limited Liability Companies with only a single
employee: themselves. This means that very wealthy people can organize into an LLC, and pay
nothing in income taxes, cheating the system. However, it is impractical for the poor to do the same,
as they don t have nearly as much to gain from this. According to Kansas Attorney James P. Zakoura,
This costs the state of Kansas at least $260 million in needed revenue year after year
(MONTGOMERY). The tax system in America is unfair to

Katherine Boemer Hidden Gems
I have used the D variation of looking at individuals Student Writing from Katherine Bomer s Hidden
Gems to analyze and evaluate Melody s writing. My first reactions to Melody s writing are that her
structure and conventions are strong and detailed and organized. Bomer and the list of qualitative
features of writing checklist located in Hidden Gems, helped me analyze Melody s work in a positive
aspect located things such as the student communicates thoughts and ideas, the story has a logical
organizational structure of sequence, the story has an effective strategies for organizing information
and the story has a sentence to sentence and word to word relationship (Bomer, 2010, p. 83). All of
these ideas that Bomer has listed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There were three sentences in her sample to retell the story related to the text and all were structured
in the same way, the sentence beginning then in the text it says and then evidence given from the text.
The student does not get a chance to voice her opinion or provide stronger descriptive words. During
reading partners the student is working on retelling mainly the gist of the stories along with learning to
sequence and this is then portrayed within her writing. During the retell of many stories, she is able to
summarize in words everything she read, when asked to write this sequence down the student is
unable to fully and complete write the words without the sentence stems and evidence from the text.
Katherine Bomer says, words are the food and the water; the sun, soil, and rain; the fuel and the
fortune; the only thing that makes writing, writing (Bomer, 2010, p.67). By adding detailed voice, and
descriptive words will strengthen Melody s writing a lot. Melody is a strong writer and she could go
very far within the writing I wish I could hear more to what she has to say. Integrating detail and the
students voice within writing is to give more freedom to the structure and ask more open ended
question to help the student think deeply and connect it from the heart more. Another way to help the
student more would to be to fill out the writing more and add layers and structure

Similarities Between The Democratic Party And The...
The Democratic Party and the Republican Party have many differences, but they also share many
similarities. The Democratic Party is the oldest continuing party in the United States. A new coalition
of Westerners, Southerners, and non property owning white men emerged from the Democratic
Republican Party and formed the Democratic Party. The core beliefs that tie the Democratic Party
together are: Democrats believe that they are greater together than on their own, that the country
succeeds when everyone has an equal opportunity, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays
by the same rules. The Democratic Party is focused on building an economy that lifts up all
Americans, not just those at the top. For more than two hundred years, ... Show more content on

The Democrats believe that only middle and lower income families should get tax cuts and that
corporations and the wealthy should pay more. The Republicans believe there should be tax cuts for
everyone including corporations. Democrats are more progressive in their views; they favor abortion
and gay marriage, but favor strict gun control laws that limit ownership. They favor increasing the
minimum wage so that Americans have more money to purchase goods. They favor trade restrictions
to protect American jobs. The Republicans are more conservative in their views; they oppose gay
marriage and promote marriage being between a man and a woman. They also oppose abortion and
promote the right of gun ownership. They oppose increases to the minimum wage, citing that
businesses need to keep costs low so they can prosper and all Americans have access to products and
services. They favor free trade in order to keep costs low for consumers and businesses make more
profits. Democrats prefer government regulation and oversight of the health care system making the
health care system accessible to everyone. They believe that government should run social programs
such as welfare, unemployment, SNAP, and Medicaid to support those in need. Republicans oppose
the Affordable Care Act stating that too much government involvement will cause a rise in costs and
have a negative impact on the quality of care. They believe that social welfare programs should have
less funding and tighter control. The Republicans favor a full military effort to displace regimes that
are totalitarian, detrimental to their own people, and who are threatening others; while Democrats
favor limited use of manpower. Democrats believe in restricting drilling for oil; Republicans favor
expanding drilling operations. Democrats favor progressive approaches to education, such

also many other activists that were important but lesser known. The sixties also represented the

Similar to the ideas of Black Power, the lesbian, gay, and the second wave feminist movements of the

engage with protests for radical changes while embracing and reducing criticism of who their sexual

friends, and colleagues, with no regret and living life openly as gay or lesbian. The Gay Liberation
movement had formed and radicalized in the late 60 s in response to the Stonewall riots of the 1960s,
in which a group of trans, lesbian, drag, and gay patrons resisted arrest during a raid in New York City.
After the Raid, many groups were formed such as the Gay Liberation Front and the Gay Activist
Alliance. These were just some other examples of how identity policies were relevant in shaping the

Explain What Is Wrong
Ashley Kelley Miss Roth H English pd. 4 24 March 2017 Is it Right? Is it Wrong? Morals and values
are the basis of all human decisions and knowledge. Every person s morals are different from one
another and can be used to define what is right and what is wrong in their own eyes. Values are used
as a personal translator that explains another person s behavior or beliefs to a different individual.
When people focus on both morals and values that have been set by them, they see everything with a
limited view, but take in more about what they learn. People create and set personal values and morals
based off of knowledge and understanding of the world and people around them, past experiences that
they themselves have gone through, and the personality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Experiences as children can shape people s brain and affect what is seen as right or wrong. Values are
acquired in childhood and manifest themselves in our campuses as permanent perceptions that shape
and influence the nature of our behaviors (Chmielewski n.p.). As a child, that person is still
developing and maturing both mentally and physically, so the values and morals the child learns are
applied to their lives and are held onto. In a world that is constantly growing and developing, it is
important for youths to hold onto morals taught to them in their childhood (George 4). Adults also
need to hold onto these morals to help youths to learn and grasp their own personal morals. Values
involve emotion, knowledge, thought, and ultimately choice and response ( The Factors of Personality
Traits n.p.). The knowledge that people gain is gained from experience and is taken in over time.
Interactions and experience can change and affect a person s development and beliefs ( The Factors of

pretty sure most of us are familiar with the little big guy. His kicking Odie of the table, sleeping all
day, eating everything in site. Any way lets get into what my favorite parts about it. Once and a while
Garfield will sneak up be hind Odie and kick him of of what ever object he stands on oh yeah by every
once and a while I mean a lot. Garfield usually will just sneak up behind Odie if he s doing anything
or not and basically kick him as hard as he possibly can. I say this he bullies Odie just a little bit too
match because let s say Garfield, John and Odie. are all eating lasagna and Garfield finishes his first
he will then eat Odie s or John s. However, Garfield usually eats his own food and does this only
every once and a while. So what happens when a pudgy little cat can reach locks and door nobs you

Examples Of Overcoming Obstacles
Facing obstacles is very hard to overcome It might seem impossible, but there are people who have
overcome some of the most difficult challenges ever. A great amount of people have gone through
similar things but end up with a different response every time. They overcome these obstacles by
keeping a positive attitude, facing their problem, and accept who they are. First, overcoming adversity
needs lots of patience, so keeping a good attitude is important. A young female named Aimee Mullin
shows the importance of containing a positive attitude. She lost her legs, but stayed positive and kept
on going. She didn t care what people thought of her and push herself to be better. She went out to
look for help to make prosthetics for her legs. After finishing she went on to be a part of field and
track. She never thought negative and didn t say it was not going to happen. But it did. Another great
example is a man named William Kamkwamba. His town had a lack of electricity, so he built some

Synthesis Of Dulcin Synthesis
Introduction
There is a demand for artificial sweeteners because people want to control their intake of sugar.
Saccharin, cyclamates, aspartame, as well as Dulcin, are some sugars that fulfill the need for
sweeteners to be of low caloric content. Some of the sweeteners, such as Dulcin, are now considered
to yield undesirable health effects with long term use. Dulcin is 250 times sweeter than table sugar.
The synthesis of Dulcin was done in order to calculate the percent yield. The lesson of this experiment
was to learn how to synthesize Dulcin from phenetidine and potassium cyanate (KOCN). During the
experiment, Dulcin was synthezided in the presence of water and acetic acid, which were the solvents.
Hydrocyanic acid (HOCN) was formed from the acetic acid and KOCN (Scheme 1 equation 1). Then
the HOCN will react with phenetidine to make Dulcin (Scheme 1 equation 2).
Scheme 1: Steps in Dulcin Synthesis. The apparatus used was the vacuum filtration, which is faster
than the gravity filtration and can only be used with a Büchner funnel. When using the Büchner
funnel, a filter paper needs to be inside of the funnel, as well as, a rubber stopper placed on the funnel
to guarantee a good seal. After the experiment was completed, a pure sample of Dulcin was obtained
because the exact melting point was determined to be 171.5 172.1°C while the literature value was
173 174°C which is a narrow range. The Rf values also support the reasoning that Dulcin is pure
because the Rf value for

Palm Oil makes up more than 50% of daily used goods, particularly food goods, but this is not without
effects on other animals, plants and people. Many people are completely unaware of the effects of
Palm Oil. This is the reason why more awareness of Palm Oil and it s effects, is necessary. This report
will look at what Palm Oil is, how it is used, it s positives, it s negatives and sustainable Palm Oil.
About Palm Oil
What is Palm Oil?
Palm Oil is an edible vegetable oil, that originates from the Palm Oil tree. It comes from the pulp of
the fruit which surrounds the kernel. It contributes to the economic development of developing
countries and plays a main role in the diets of millions of people around the world.
Where is it grown? Why?
Palm trees originated in West Africa, but was brought to South East Asia towards the start of the 20th
century. During the British Industrial Revolution the demand for Palm Oil increased. At that time
250,000 tones of Palm Oil was being exported annually, this number has now risen to more that 60
000 000 tonnes a year. It is currently planted and harvested throughout Africa, Asia, North America,
South America, Indonesia and Malaysia. 85% of all Palm Oil is produced and exported from Indonesia
and Malaysia.
Climate
Palm trees can be grown in hot places with abundant rainfall, such as Malaysia and Indonesia. This is
why there is such large plantations in places such as Indonesia and Malaysia. The reason that Palm Oil

after a couple years, most of the patients regain their weight and added extra pounds. Dr Arteburnan,

still do not know at 10 and 20 years what portion of patients kept their weight off (Arterburn et al.,

maintained after reaching established weight loss goal should be done. Survival analysis can be used

Perry Mansfield As A Persuasive Speech
The emotional parents hugged and kissed their children goodbye, with tears surfacing at the rims of
their eyes. Four weeks was an extensive time for them to not see their children. Of course the children,
who were all in their early teen years, were embarrassed by their parents behavior. 14 year olds Elodie
and Bentley were inseparable. They both got invited to the summer program of Perry Mansfield,
which is a performing arts camp in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. Elodie and Bentley have been best
friends ever since they were five. They started together in their very first ballet class, and have been
best friends ever since. The girls got all checked in, and the the only thing they had to do was go to the
nurses station to turn in their medication. Elodie has a severe sleepwalking disorder, and has to take
medication to prevent it from happening. They got their medication turned in and walked back to the
check in stand. Welcome to the 100th year anniversary of Perry Mansfield! Naomi, the lead counselor,
said, Say your final goodbyes to your parents, it s time for me to show you to your cabin! Naomi was
always a very radiant and energetic soul. She walked the girls through the thick musky woods to their

cabin was Ranch . The girls arrived at the old run down cabin and had faces filled with repugnance as

The Debate On The House Of Lords
The prospect for change in the House of lords has been an endless debate in British politics. The
structure of the Chamber has bought about a significant argument for a transformative change in its
composition. The upper chamber has already experienced some reformations over the last 100 years,
including the Life Peerages Act (1958) and the Lords Act of 1999. The Lords Act reduced the number
of hereditary peers to 92 members. This was seen as a significant amendment but academics claim a
greater change is needed to establish a more democratic and effective body (Seidle, 2003). Brazier
argues the House of Lords continues to be unelected, unrepresentative and unaccountable (2008, p.
66). The current composition of the Lords consists of mostly appointed peers, known as life peers,
whom are appointed by the Prime Minister. There are currently 707 life peers and 88 hereditary peers.
Most importantly, the chamber includes only 26 bishops which remain the only elected members
(Parliament UK (2015). This significant proportion suggests the necessity for reforming the
composition of the Lords. This essay will assess the merits of switching to a fully elected House of
Lords. I will use the elected U.S. Senate to assess whether a fully elected upper house would be an
effective reform. The Conservative Liberal Democrat coalition in 2010 agreed to bring forward
proposals for a wholly or mainly elected upper chamber on the basis of proportional representation
(Russell, 2013, p. 265).

Disadvantages Of Examination Malpractice
Examination has been identified as the most objective method of assessing an individual s capability
and achievements and the effectiveness of educational programs. It is also used to determine the
effectiveness of a teacher or that of a teaching method. It is therefore a very important aspect of the
educational enterprise. It is because of the importance attached to it that people get test anxiety when
there is any doubt regarding the outcome of examination. Covenant University has been faced with a
problem which is examination malpractice.

Essex Hemphill s Commitments
In this modern, judgmental society, countless people are held back because they are afraid of what
others will think of them. Many times this can lead to depression, anxiety, or living an unfulfilling life.
Essex Hemphill wrote a poem called Commitments in the point of view of a young man who
experienced the previously mentioned complications. The most prominent issue in the poem is the
speaker s will to admit his sexuality. He is gay, which would most likely be disproved of in his
southern culture. The speaker is left unfulfilled due to the fact that he lives the life of a person he is
not, hiding his true self. He is afraid to show his family who he actually is because he is afraid of not

situations as well. In this society, past, present, and future, people will be judged, so many will hold
themselves back to avoid judgment. Essex Hemphill constructed a speaker that summarizes a

Benefits of Cloning Essay
Benefits of Cloning
What if while walking down the street you encountered someone who looked exactly like you? Would
you stare in amazement or would your heart be filled with fear? At first some people may look upon
the idea of cloning with disgust and question themselves if humans should play God while others
would be interested and study the many possibilities that cloning offers. This illustrates the path that
cloning has taken over the latter part of the twentieth century. At first, when cloning was brought up in
conversations, people tended to fearfully think of an army of identical persons marching across the
earth in hopes of ruling humans. This and many other absurd notions of clones stem from science
fiction movies and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since then people think that biologists are cloning both human and other mammal s embryos only to
see how far they can push the scientific envelope, but in fact there are many legitimate reasons for
investigating cloning. Embryologists believe that research into cloning could help improve the life of
future generations. Cancer research is possibly the most important reason for embryo cloning they
argue. Oncologists believe that embryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell growth
of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same phenomenal speed as embryonic cells do.
By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine how to stop rapid cell
division, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Hyde 15). Another important area of embryo cloning
research is embryonic stem cell development. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can develop
into almost any type of cell in the body. These cells are not attacked by a person s immune system,
because of their fast development and undifferentiated status (Wilmut 4). Many doctors believe that
these stem cells could be used in treatments for brain and nervous system damage.
Perhaps a more questionable use of cloned embryos is for spare parts and hormones. Production of
transgenic farm animals to make organs to transplant in humans with organ failure has been heavily
researched. Companies

there is a point where it begins to hurt both the company and the rest of the economy. It takes money
away from taxpayers and is used to increase the personal wealth of millionaires. The Institute for
Policy Studies in Washington found that five elements in the tax code encourage overpaying
executives, which can cost the American people up to $20 billion a year (Doc A). $20 billion is no
small sum and could instead be used to increase the standard of living in America. With this extra
taxpayer money, the US could provide healthcare to millions or slash infant mortality rates across the
globe. Instead, it goes into another personal account in the Cayman s. CEO ... Show more content on

In the cities around Silicon Valley, property values and rents are skyrocketing as more highly paid tech
workers move in and are able to afford higher costs. This is beginning to force lower wage workers
out of the area, because they can no longer afford to live here. This is a big problem, because these
workers being forced out form the base of the economic pyramid and by throwing them out local
economies lose their stability. In order to make sure that the Bay Area remains diverse, cities must
invest in more affordable housing that will allow these workers to live here. In the long run, this will
only increase the economic benefits for all classes of workers and bring economic prosperity. As the
last few areas in the Bay are becoming gentrified, local governments must quickly take action before
these low wage workers disappear

The Elegant Universe Personal Statement
Alongside my wider research into physics, I enjoy learning about the history and story of each
discovery and the people behind them. This is what led me to the book Reality Is Not What It
Seems: The Journey to Quantum Gravity . It helped me glimpse into the world of physics, from
Greek philosophers like Democritus, past Newton and calculus, to a future of quantum gravity and
more. Matvei Bronstein has a short, sad but important part of this. this. His story got me interested in
the unification problem as the first person to show that quantum gravity affects space time, causing me
to develop a curiosity about theoretical physics as well the universe at micro and macro levels.
Alongside this, the book The Elegant Universe helped me to further understand ... Show more content

as well as challenging any dependence on calculators. To get experience working in a university

completing several research tasks, learning about number theory as well as mathematics in computing.
It helped my ability to both work in a on a range of projects, extracting key information from sources
and quickly learning new skills. I really enjoyed the problem solving aspect of the week so to continue

I completed an online course on mathematical code breaking and problem solving. Another aspect of

The Power Of Control In George Orwell s 1984
George Orwell s 1984 and the Power of Controlling Thought INTRO PARAGRAPH: Ever read 1984
by George Orwell? It s a novel that is one of those big, bad always watching government types. I
assume you ve read it if you are reading this. In the novel, the government uses the power to control
what people believe and see to its advantage and does this through its ability to brainwash the masses.
Now, the novel and the world we live hold some similarities that I am going to share today. THESIS
STATEMENT: Orwell depicts the effects of an over controlling government on its citizens and the
similarity of its parallel effects in the current world we live in today. In 1984, the way the people are

If we look at the prompts we were given for this exact essay, one is asking us to defend the accuracy
of the statement for the theme of that the government s actions are not benevolent, but self serving.
The prompt itself isn t asking us if it is accurate. It s telling us that it is. What this does is give us as a
reader the preconceived notion that this is the truth. The problem here being that what if we don t
think that this statement is what the novel is about. Truthfully, you can interpret anything from a
novel, so you could really put any theme there and defend it. However the statement from the novel
itself describes this perfectly. Don t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of
thought? In the end we shall make thought crime literally impossible, because there will be no words
in which to express it. (Orwell 23) The essays that we have been told to write are in fact doing such a
thing by having us restate themes and opinions told to us by higher powers and then defend such
themes. What this does is condition us to not have our own opinion on things. How many times have
you been on the internet and you see someone get famous based off their opinion on something, only
to have everyone else then start thinking the exact same way. People are in some regards, very sheep

Catcher In The Rye Should Not Be Banned Essay
The Catcher in The Rye is one of the most banned books in America across schools, libraries, and
book stores, but it should not be as looked down upon as it is. It is banned because partly because of
all of the violence and the bad language it uses. Many parents or teachers do not want children to be
exposed to those kinds of things so they try to shield them from books such as The Catcher in the Rye.
Also, some schools do not want kids having the book because Holden is seen as a rebel because he is
constantly getting kicked out of schools because he does not put forth the effort. Parents and schools
do not want their children to get the idea that it is ok or even normal for kids to approach school the
way Holden does. But, The Catcher in The Rye should not be banned from libraries, schools, or book
stores because it shows teenagers how not to act, the importance of friends and family, and that
children should not be in a rush to grow up. Holden is constantly breaking rules and getting himself
into trouble. Whether it is picking a fight with his roommate, I tried to sock him, with all of my might,

Analysis Of The Return Of Martin Guerre
Natalie Zemon Davis The Return of Martin Guerre depicts the peculiar historical life behind the trial
of Martin Guerre and his wife Bertrande de Rols, whose lives were infiltrated by the imposter, Arnaud
du Tilh. Taken place in Languedoc, France, the life of Martin Guerre a young peasant man, in which
his abandonment of his flourishing farm and lifestyle in the village of Artigat, created the historical
trial of impersonating lies, held to justify the innocence of one s word against another. In the visual
effects of the filmographic film The Return of Martin Guerre directed by Daniel Vigne; visualizes the
historical story of Davis work into the world of cinema. In the time span of two hours and three
minutes, the viewer is presented with the mysterious revelation of the identity of Bertrand s husband
Martin. While both the film and the book uncover the identity of Martin and his imposter, Arnaud, the
representations of the uprising allegations against Arnaud in the film are in fact not equivalent to that
of the book. Throughout the film, it showcased Bertrande as of a victim of Arnaud s duplicity, viewing
her as a pure wife who was caught in the lies. Rather than playing the victim, in the book she consorts
a dishonest marriage within a period in which women were consigned to subordinate positions,
holding the most important voice in the rising of allegations against Martin Guerre.
In the film, we meet a young Bertrande de Rols who with the abandonment of her husband

Examples Of Masculinity In I Got You
The difference in I Got You is that unlike your typical love stories, one partner isn t there just to save
the other, but Benjamin helps Jake save himself. He believed in Jake and helped him accomplish
something for himself, he gave him strength and wasn t there just so Jake could coward out and
depend on him. Benjamin helped Jake so that he could survive on his on. In many love stories this isn
t so true. The prince always saves the princess and all she learn is there will be a prince to rescue her
from her problems. For anyone who reads I Got You, they will clearly see that even though the cliché
theme of love conquers all is in the story, they will also see the themes of learning to be true to
yourself, stand up for yourself, and stand up for what you believe in, even when no one else will.
Representations of Masculinity
Being Masculine is something that most of us, even women are very familiar with. When we think of
masculinity we think of toxic masculinity or being hyper aggressive, non emotional, hypersexual, and

Silver Linings Playbook (2012), Patrizio Pat Solitano, Jr, played by Bradley Cooper, is shown to be
diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Though Cooper s acting of Pat is more grounded than other
interpretations of the disorder. The conflict within himself is cured by the end of the film when Pat
falls in love with and starts dating Jennifer Lawrence s character, Tiffany. In reality, bipolar disorder
cannot be cured but instead can be treated. In the movie, actor Bradley Cooper plays a man with
bipolar disorder who is being released from a psychiatric hospital. He soon connects emotionally with
a quirky young woman, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who has struggled with her own mental health
issues, largely brought on by her husband s death.Psychologists and other mental health professional
are touchy about how they are depicted in movies. So are doctors, police officers and lawyers. Given
the widespread influence of movies, any profession is naturally going to be invested in whether its
members are portrayed positively and accurately. After all, misrepresentations could potentially lead
to public relations problems. In the case of psychotherapy, it might mean that someone will not seek
help because they have developed a negative perception of counseling. Or in the case of mental
disorder, inaccurate depictions could increase the stigmatization of various kinds of difficulties and
diagnoses. However, as I point out in my book, The Psychology at the Movies, there is a danger in
psychologists being too uptight and literal in commenting about Hollywood movies. Film makers are
not in the same business as psychologists. Their job is to tell dramatic, compelling stories, and
sometimes they distort reality in order to accomplish this task.

Why Did Medea Seek Retribution
The Greece play Medea is about a wife from a foreign land that is abandoned by her husband. She
chooses to take revenge against him by killing his new bride, his father in law, and his two kids. For
Medea, trying to punish him was not justified for the circumstance that she was in. This was mainly
for two reasons. Starting off, she was a foreigner who married and became a queen in a land, so there
were different rights and customs that she could not ignore. Adding to that, it was not socially
acceptable because she was a woman living in Greece. If Medea was a man living in Greece, it would
of been fine for her to make the choices she did. Because of these factors, Medea s decision to seek
retribution was not excusable. It is important to note ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electric Cars
Recently, I gave a research proposal, the main topic of which was the conservation of natural
resources by the introduction of automobiles running not on fossil fuels, but on electricity. My
research will deal with the advantages and working of all electric vehicles in detail and will justify
how they are a lot beneficial and how they play a great role in reducing the consumption of natural
resources and pollution. One source I am considering for my research is an article titled Building
Better Batteries for Electric Cars by Jim Witkin which was published in The New York Times on
March 30, 2011. However, I have yet to evaluate the sources and verify that it is credible enough to be
used in my research.

Persuasive Essay On Junk Food Tax
More than one in three adults in America is considered obese (Katz). Having a junk food tax will most
definitely help lower this statistic. While characterized as a negative burden, taxes are easily one of the
most important aspects in everyday life. Taxing junk foods will allow many positives such as: health
benefits, better uses with the money, and knowledge for a healthy lifestyle. Health has always been an
issue in modern American lives. With the socially accepted standards, people want change. The main
issue is food. Eating foods high in saturated fats, salt and sugar can lead to high blood pressure and
obesity, which puts people at risk of diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer
(Cobiac). With the knowledge out there, everyone should be ready for change. Following a healthy
diet will be the best option for overall well being and happiness. The single most important aspect of a
junk food tax would be the health benefits. A goal set by various groups of people is it to live a long,
healthy life. The junk food tax will eliminate one of the more detrimental factors in health problems:
eating too much. By increasing the price of products that contain sugar, taxes can get people to
consume less of them and thus improve nutrition and health (Marron). Obviously this would fall into
all categories, not just sugar. The use of taxes is very smart in the sense of persuading people not to do
something. They will not want to spend more time and money on the bad habits. This reduction would
substantially reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and related conditions (Franck).
Anyone could figure out that junk food reduction is a positive achievement in everyone s lives.
Disease reduction is what health benefits revolve around. The whole point of the tax is to reduce the
amount of diseases associated with the bad nutritional foods. In 2008, the medical costs associated
with obesity and obesity related illnesses totaled the US $147 billion in the United States (Franck).
Not only is the food terrible for health, but it is also very expensive. The cost of the diseases is quite
substantial for the United States. Ridding the world of these foods will allow

Soccer In The United States
Soccer in the United States has consistently taken a back seat to sports such as football, basketball, or
baseball until today. Soccer was a sport that never gained traction in the United States until recently,
and this is likely due to the American public who never appears to support a sport/club unless they
show signs of success in competition. Unfortunately, one of the downsides of the American public
only caring about the winners, is that even though soccer has existed in America for so long, they have
not been popular due to the lack of success, which is tied directly to the inability to recruit talented
athletes to play in MLS or the FIFA national team. However, while the popularity of soccer in the
United States is still relatively low in comparison to certain sports, their popularity is on the rise.
According to an article published by TheRichest.com in 2014, men s soccer was then the seventh most
popular sport in the United States behind ice hockey, men s professional basketball, auto racing,

Synthesis and Reactivity of tert butyl Chloride via an Sn1 Reaction
Copeland 1
Introduction/Background
Substitution reactions are important chemical processes that contribute to the production of new
compounds. Simplistically, these reactions take place through a series of steps in which one functional
group is replaced by another (March). There are two types of nucleophilic substitution reactions, first
order and second order, but this experiment only involves the Sn1 first order reactions. Sn1 reactions
are considered unimolecular meaning that only one molecule is involved in the rate determining step,
the slowest step of the reaction which determines the overall speed of the reaction. In contrast, Sn2
reactions are considered bimolecular, and complete the substitution reaction in one step. The main
components of these reactions are the nucleophile and the leaving group; a nucleophile replaces the
leaving group by donating its electrons to form a new bond to the carbon (Weldegirma). For this
experiment, the nucleophiles and leaving groups of the Sn1 reactions are alkyl halides and alcohols
respectively. When a hydrogen atom is replaced by halogen in an alkane, the resulting compound is
referred to as a alkyl halide. There are certain factors that affect both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions which
include the structure of the substrate, and the concentration and reactivity of the nucleophile (Sn2
only). If a

Heros and Sidekicks Eastern Western and Modern Mythology....
Heroes and their sidekicks have been a consistent motif in mythology from the very first civilization,

sidekick themes are the relationships between Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the Epic of Gilgamesh,
Achilles and Patroclus in the Iliad, and Batman and Robin in the graphic novel Death in the Family.
This essay will explore the similarities and differences between these important pieces of literature.
The three mythologies are quite different in relation to the three pairs relationships with each other.

Persuasive Speech On School Lunches
A healthy, delicious, lunch is what many schools strive for, however many don t follow suit in the best
way possible. I am writing to you, Mr. Dawson, to address the fact that Ronald E. McNair High
School fails to provide their students with wholesome meals. As you may know, the Lodi Unified
School District has food services that promotes and brings attention to our freshly prepared school
meals made from California grown products (School Nutrition And Fitness). To promote even
healthier eating, McNair actively participates in the USDA case study, inviting mobile carts to bring
lunch closer to the students (School Nutrition And Fitness). Even with additional efforts put forth,
students still find the lunches unappetizing (due to low grade food quality) and prefer to eat other
alternatives.
According to Alice Waters and Katrina Heron, authors of No lunch left behind an article published in
The New York Times on February 19, 2009, the National School Lunch Program is a poor investment.
The authors informed the public that of $9 billion, very little actually goes into the food. They demand
fresh alternatives provided by local farmers and refine school equipment, to instead prepare fresh
nutritious meals for the school. Although we may produce some meals at the school, there are still
ways to improve the equipment to better serve the students. Education about sensible eating is also
recommended, as it will teach students a nourishing lifestyle outside of school. With a well
constructed plan that upgrades the quality of the food and food education, it will surely make our
school healthier!
Waters and Heron do have a point. Creating our own fresh lunches at the school have perks, but what
about food options? A better idea would be to advance on vegetarian options that cater more
vegetables, fruits, whole grains, soy foods, and more dairy products. Creating new and exciting
options will attract more students to lunch and they may even start to find the lunch appetizing. On
September 14, 2017, an ERWC class taught by Edward Cruz conducted an eleven question survey
about eating habits and preferences at McNair. The survey questioned the appeal of school lunches
and found that only 31% of students found the

Sex, Drugs, Disasters, and the Extinction of Dinosaurs is written by Stephen Jay Gould, professor of

zoology, and paleontology published by Gould in national magazines and journals. It tells about
scientific proposals for the extinction of dinosaurs a confusing but an exciting problem that humanity
tries to solve. By analyzing and describing each of the claims for the reptiles demise sex, drugs, and
disasters Gould differentiates bad science from good science and explains what makes some theories
silly speculations, while the other, a testable hypothesis. Any hypothesis, Gould says, begins with the

Iridium, common in meteorites, is a testable evidence of the disaster hypothesis. Gould continues that
the Cretaceous debacle, which is one of five episodes of mass dying, occurred at the same time as the
large comet might have smashed into the Earth. The author believes this is not merely a coincidence,
rather, it is a proof of the cause effect relationship. The demise of a wide range of habitats along with
the extinction of dinosaurs gives an inestimable advantage to the disaster theory over other claims, the
author adds. The comet struck the Earth, and habitats, from terrestrial to marine, died with geological
suddenness. Finally, this hypothesis has had an impact on the study of an atomic war and its
consequences. A nuclear war, Gould says, may cause a huge drop in temperatures and result in the
extinction of humanity. Testable evidence, study, development, contribution all this makes good
science. The drug theory is a useless speculation and an example of bad science. Dinosaurs, it says,
either couldn t taste the bitterness of plants that contained psychoactive substances or had livers
ineffective to detoxify psychedelic agents. The author of the theory suggested that the overdose had
been a factor of the dinosaurs extinction.

  • 2. Taxation Essay In America, the powerful and wealthy are able to abuse the taxation system to their benefit, and this paper will demonstrate how this is done and the solutions to those problems, as well as refute the opposition. America has had it s moments of glory and triumph yet also it s moments of failure and loss. However, it seems nearly impossible to predict an economic recession or a war, so one can never know when tough times are approaching. Currently, America is in the second longest period of stock market growth, ever. The natural conclusion, then, is that the economy here is healthy and strong, and that this growth will continue. Unfortunately, however, America s stock market is in for a correction sooner or later, because the wealth and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While the maximum tax rate on normal income is 39.6%, the maximum tax rate on capital gains, which is how many investors become rich, is 20%( How are capital gains taxed? ). In fact, investor and billionaire Warren Buffett said that in his taxes, he Pays a lower rate than his secretary (HOAR). Does it honestly make sense that a man with 77 billion dollars pays less in taxes than his secretary? It is evident that capital gains taxed at such a low rate encourage this. The third loophole, and the product of politicians and wealthy citizens of the state of Kansas, is a 0% tax rate on Limited Liability Companies, or LLCs. The idea for the tax break was to give the state s economy a Shot of Adrenaline , and it allowed thousands of corporations to pay little in taxes. This means that those companies could employ more people, and spend more money on research and development. So how could this be negative? In short, it allowed individuals to form Limited Liability Companies with only a single employee: themselves. This means that very wealthy people can organize into an LLC, and pay nothing in income taxes, cheating the system. However, it is impractical for the poor to do the same, as they don t have nearly as much to gain from this. According to Kansas Attorney James P. Zakoura, This costs the state of Kansas at least $260 million in needed revenue year after year (MONTGOMERY). The tax system in America is unfair to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Katherine Boemer Hidden Gems I have used the D variation of looking at individuals Student Writing from Katherine Bomer s Hidden Gems to analyze and evaluate Melody s writing. My first reactions to Melody s writing are that her structure and conventions are strong and detailed and organized. Bomer and the list of qualitative features of writing checklist located in Hidden Gems, helped me analyze Melody s work in a positive aspect located things such as the student communicates thoughts and ideas, the story has a logical organizational structure of sequence, the story has an effective strategies for organizing information and the story has a sentence to sentence and word to word relationship (Bomer, 2010, p. 83). All of these ideas that Bomer has listed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There were three sentences in her sample to retell the story related to the text and all were structured in the same way, the sentence beginning then in the text it says and then evidence given from the text. The student does not get a chance to voice her opinion or provide stronger descriptive words. During reading partners the student is working on retelling mainly the gist of the stories along with learning to sequence and this is then portrayed within her writing. During the retell of many stories, she is able to summarize in words everything she read, when asked to write this sequence down the student is unable to fully and complete write the words without the sentence stems and evidence from the text. Katherine Bomer says, words are the food and the water; the sun, soil, and rain; the fuel and the fortune; the only thing that makes writing, writing (Bomer, 2010, p.67). By adding detailed voice, and descriptive words will strengthen Melody s writing a lot. Melody is a strong writer and she could go very far within the writing I wish I could hear more to what she has to say. Integrating detail and the students voice within writing is to give more freedom to the structure and ask more open ended question to help the student think deeply and connect it from the heart more. Another way to help the student more would to be to fill out the writing more and add layers and structure ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Democratic Party is the oldest continuing party in the United States. A new coalition of Westerners, Southerners, and non property owning white men emerged from the Democratic Republican Party and formed the Democratic Party. The core beliefs that tie the Democratic Party together are: Democrats believe that they are greater together than on their own, that the country succeeds when everyone has an equal opportunity, everyone does their fair share, and everyone plays by the same rules. Democrats are more progressive in their views; they favor abortion and gay marriage, but favor strict gun control laws that limit ownership. They favor increasing the minimum wage so that Americans have more money to purchase goods. They favor trade restrictions to protect American jobs. The Republicans are more conservative in their views; they oppose gay marriage and promote marriage being between a man and a woman. They also oppose abortion and promote the right of gun ownership. They oppose increases to the minimum wage, citing that businesses need to keep costs low so they can prosper and all Americans have access to products and services. They favor free trade in order to keep costs low for consumers and businesses make more profits. Democrats prefer government regulation and oversight of the health care system making the health care system accessible to everyone. They believe that government should run social programs such as welfare, unemployment, SNAP, and Medicaid to support those in need. Republicans oppose the Affordable Care Act stating that too much government involvement will cause a rise in costs and have a negative impact on the quality of care. The LGBT groups were urged to engage with protests for radical changes while embracing and reducing criticism of who their sexual preferences. The feminist ideologies of approaching these issues were to come out to family members, friends, and colleagues, with no regret and living life openly as gay or lesbian. The Gay Liberation movement had formed and radicalized in the late 60 s in response to the Stonewall riots of the 1960s, in which a group of trans, lesbian, drag, and gay patrons resisted arrest during a raid in New York City. After the Raid, many groups were formed such as the Gay Liberation Front and the Gay Activist Alliance. A great amount of people have gone through similar things but end up with a different response every time. They overcome these obstacles by keeping a positive attitude, facing their problem, and accept who they are. First, overcoming adversity needs lots of patience, so keeping a good attitude is important. A young female named Aimee Mullin shows the importance of containing a positive attitude. She lost her legs, but stayed positive and kept on going. She didn t care what people thought of her and push herself to be better. She went out to look for help to make prosthetics for her legs. • 9. Synthesis Of Dulcin Synthesis Introduction There is a demand for artificial sweeteners because people want to control their intake of sugar. Saccharin, cyclamates, aspartame, as well as Dulcin, are some sugars that fulfill the need for sweeteners to be of low caloric content. Some of the sweeteners, such as Dulcin, are now considered to yield undesirable health effects with long term use. Dulcin is 250 times sweeter than table sugar. The synthesis of Dulcin was done in order to calculate the percent yield. The lesson of this experiment was to learn how to synthesize Dulcin from phenetidine and potassium cyanate (KOCN). During the experiment, Dulcin was synthezided in the presence of water and acetic acid, which were the solvents. Hydrocyanic acid (HOCN) was formed from the acetic acid and KOCN (Scheme 1 equation 1). Then the HOCN will react with phenetidine to make Dulcin (Scheme 1 equation 2). Scheme 1: Steps in Dulcin Synthesis. The apparatus used was the vacuum filtration, which is faster than the gravity filtration and can only be used with a Büchner funnel. When using the Büchner funnel, a filter paper needs to be inside of the funnel, as well as, a rubber stopper placed on the funnel to guarantee a good seal. After the experiment was completed, a pure sample of Dulcin was obtained because the exact melting point was determined to be 171.5 172.1°C while the literature value was 173 174°C which is a narrow range. • 14. The Debate On The House Of Lords The prospect for change in the House of lords has been an endless debate in British politics. The structure of the Chamber has bought about a significant argument for a transformative change in its composition. The upper chamber has already experienced some reformations over the last 100 years, including the Life Peerages Act (1958) and the Lords Act of 1999. The Lords Act reduced the number of hereditary peers to 92 members. This was seen as a significant amendment but academics claim a greater change is needed to establish a more democratic and effective body (Seidle, 2003). Brazier argues the House of Lords continues to be unelected, unrepresentative and unaccountable (2008, p. 66). The current composition of the Lords consists of mostly appointed peers, known as life peers, whom are appointed by the Prime Minister. There are currently 707 life peers and 88 hereditary peers. Most importantly, the chamber includes only 26 bishops which remain the only elected members (Parliament UK (2015). This significant proportion suggests the necessity for reforming the composition of the Lords. This essay will assess the merits of switching to a fully elected House of Lords. I will use the elected U.S. Senate to assess whether a fully elected upper house would be an effective reform. This illustrates the path that cloning has taken over the latter part of the twentieth century. Since then people think that biologists are cloning both human and other mammal s embryos only to see how far they can push the scientific envelope, but in fact there are many legitimate reasons for investigating cloning. Embryologists believe that research into cloning could help improve the life of future generations. Cancer research is possibly the most important reason for embryo cloning they argue. Oncologists believe that embryonic study will advance understanding of the rapid cell growth of cancer. Cancer cells develop at approximately the same phenomenal speed as embryonic cells do. By studying the embryonic cell growth, scientists may be able to determine how to stop rapid cell division, and also stop cancer growth in turn (Hyde 15). Another important area of embryo cloning research is embryonic stem cell development. Stem cells are undifferentiated cells that can develop into almost any type of cell in the body. These cells are not attacked by a person s immune system, because of their fast development and undifferentiated status (Wilmut 4). Many doctors believe that these stem cells could be used in treatments for brain and nervous system damage. Perhaps a more questionable use of cloned embryos is for spare parts and hormones. For anyone who reads I Got You, they will clearly see that even though the cliché theme of love conquers all is in the story, they will also see the themes of learning to be true to yourself, stand up for yourself, and stand up for what you believe in, even when no one else will. Representations of Masculinity Being Masculine is something that most of us, even women are very familiar with. When we think of masculinity we think of toxic masculinity or being hyper aggressive, non emotional, hypersexual, and violent. For society, that is what masculinity is, toxic. Mental Disorders In The Film The Big Lebowski Before the 2000s a large portion of media portraying those with mental disorders was inaccurate and often times they were depicted as being nuisances to society. Though Cooper s acting of Pat is more grounded than other interpretations of the disorder. The conflict within himself is cured by the end of the film when Pat falls in love with and starts dating Jennifer Lawrence s character, Tiffany. In reality, bipolar disorder cannot be cured but instead can be treated. In the movie, actor Bradley Cooper plays a man with bipolar disorder who is being released from a psychiatric hospital. He soon connects emotionally with a quirky young woman, played by Jennifer Lawrence, who has struggled with her own mental health issues, largely brought on by her husband s death.Psychologists and other mental health professional are touchy about how they are depicted in movies. So are doctors, police officers and lawyers. Given the widespread influence of movies, any profession is naturally going to be invested in whether its members are portrayed positively and accurately. After all, misrepresentations could potentially lead to public relations problems. In the case of psychotherapy, it might mean that someone will not seek help because they have developed a negative perception of counseling. Or in the case of mental disorder, inaccurate depictions could increase the stigmatization of various kinds of difficulties and diagnoses. However, as I point out in my book, The Psychology at the Movies, there is a danger in psychologists being too uptight and literal in commenting about Hollywood movies. Film makers are not in the same business as psychologists. Their job is to tell dramatic, compelling stories, and sometimes they distort reality in order to accomplish this task. ... • 29. Why Did Medea Seek Retribution The Greece play Medea is about a wife from a foreign land that is abandoned by her husband. She chooses to take revenge against him by killing his new bride, his father in law, and his two kids. For Medea, trying to punish him was not justified for the circumstance that she was in. This was mainly for two reasons. Starting off, she was a foreigner who married and became a queen in a land, so there were different rights and customs that she could not ignore. Adding to that, it was not socially acceptable because she was a woman living in Greece. If Medea was a man living in Greece, it would of been fine for her to make the choices she did. Among not having a place to live, people say that she was not given provisions to take care of her and her children (Jason chose to leave his children with her). What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of Electric Cars Recently, I gave a research proposal, the main topic of which was the conservation of natural resources by the introduction of automobiles running not on fossil fuels, but on electricity. My research will deal with the advantages and working of all electric vehicles in detail and will justify how they are a lot beneficial and how they play a great role in reducing the consumption of natural resources and pollution. One source I am considering for my research is an article titled Building Better Batteries for Electric Cars by Jim Witkin which was published in The New York Times on March 30, 2011. • 31. Persuasive Essay On Junk Food Tax More than one in three adults in America is considered obese (Katz). Having a junk food tax will most definitely help lower this statistic. While characterized as a negative burden, taxes are easily one of the most important aspects in everyday life. Taxing junk foods will allow many positives such as: health benefits, better uses with the money, and knowledge for a healthy lifestyle. Health has always been an issue in modern American lives. With the socially accepted standards, people want change. The main issue is food. Eating foods high in saturated fats, salt and sugar can lead to high blood pressure and obesity, which puts people at risk of diseases such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer (Cobiac). With the knowledge out there, everyone should be ready for change. Following a healthy diet will be the best option for overall well being and happiness. The single most important aspect of a junk food tax would be the health benefits. A goal set by various groups of people is it to live a long, healthy life. The junk food tax will eliminate one of the more detrimental factors in health problems: eating too much. By increasing the price of products that contain sugar, taxes can get people to consume less of them and thus improve nutrition and health (Marron). Obviously this would fall into all categories, not just sugar. The use of taxes is very smart in the sense of persuading people not to do something. They will not want to spend more time and money on the bad habits. This reduction would substantially reduce the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and related conditions (Franck). Anyone could figure out that junk food reduction is a positive achievement in everyone s lives. Disease reduction is what health benefits revolve around. The whole point of the tax is to reduce the amount of diseases associated with the bad nutritional foods. In 2008, the medical costs associated with obesity and obesity related illnesses totaled the US $147 billion in the United States (Franck). Not only is the food terrible for health, but it is also very expensive. The cost of the diseases is quite substantial for the United States. Ridding the world of these foods will allow ... • 32. Soccer In The United States Soccer in the United States has consistently taken a back seat to sports such as football, basketball, or baseball until today. Soccer was a sport that never gained traction in the United States until recently, and this is likely due to the American public who never appears to support a sport/club unless they show signs of success in competition. Unfortunately, one of the downsides of the American public only caring about the winners, is that even though soccer has existed in America for so long, they have not been popular due to the lack of success, which is tied directly to the inability to recruit talented athletes to play in MLS or the FIFA national team. However, while the popularity of soccer in the United States is still relatively low in comparison to certain sports, their popularity is on the rise. According to an article published by TheRichest.com in 2014, men s soccer was then the seventh most popular sport in the United States behind ice hockey, men s professional basketball, auto racing, college football, baseball, and football. • 34. Reactivity Of Tert-Butyl Chloride Lab Report Courtney Copeland Alexis Madrazo TA: Katrinah Tirado October 10, 2017 Synthesis and Reactivity of tert butyl Chloride via an Sn1 Reaction Copeland 1 Introduction/Background Substitution reactions are important chemical processes that contribute to the production of new compounds. Simplistically, these reactions take place through a series of steps in which one functional group is replaced by another (March). There are two types of nucleophilic substitution reactions, first order and second order, but this experiment only involves the Sn1 first order reactions. Sn1 reactions are considered unimolecular meaning that only one molecule is involved in the rate determining step, the slowest step of the reaction which determines the overall speed of the reaction. In contrast, Sn2 reactions are considered bimolecular, and complete the substitution reaction in one step. The main components of these reactions are the nucleophile and the leaving group; a nucleophile replaces the leaving group by donating its electrons to form a new bond to the carbon (Weldegirma). For this experiment, the nucleophiles and leaving groups of the Sn1 reactions are alkyl halides and alcohols respectively. When a hydrogen atom is replaced by halogen in an alkane, the resulting compound is referred to as a alkyl halide. There are certain factors that affect both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions which include the structure of the substrate, and the concentration and reactivity of the nucleophile (Sn2 only). If a ... Heroes and their sidekicks have been a consistent motif in mythology from the very first civilization, to the ancient Greeks, and even to popular culture now. Three specific stories with very similar hero sidekick themes are the relationships between Gilgamesh and Enkidu in the Epic of Gilgamesh, Achilles and Patroclus in the Iliad, and Batman and Robin in the graphic novel Death in the Family. This essay will explore the similarities and differences between these important pieces of literature. The three mythologies are quite different in relation to the three pairs relationships with each other. The Iliad takes place during the Heroic age on the Peloponnese and the kingdom of Troy. Enkidu s purpose is to give Gilgamesh an equal and tone down his arrogance and selfish acts as king. • 36. Persuasive Speech On School Lunches A healthy, delicious, lunch is what many schools strive for, however many don t follow suit in the best way possible. I am writing to you, Mr. Dawson, to address the fact that Ronald E. McNair High School fails to provide their students with wholesome meals. As you may know, the Lodi Unified School District has food services that promotes and brings attention to our freshly prepared school meals made from California grown products (School Nutrition And Fitness). To promote even healthier eating, McNair actively participates in the USDA case study, inviting mobile carts to bring lunch closer to the students (School Nutrition And Fitness). Even with additional efforts put forth, students still find the lunches unappetizing (due to low grade food quality) and prefer to eat other alternatives. According to Alice Waters and Katrina Heron, authors of No lunch left behind an article published in The New York Times on February 19, 2009, the National School Lunch Program is a poor investment. The authors informed the public that of $9 billion, very little actually goes into the food. They demand fresh alternatives provided by local farmers and refine school equipment, to instead prepare fresh nutritious meals for the school. Although we may produce some meals at the school, there are still ways to improve the equipment to better serve the students. Education about sensible eating is also recommended, as it will teach students a nourishing lifestyle outside of school. With a well constructed plan that upgrades the quality of the food and food education, it will surely make our school healthier! Waters and Heron do have a point. Creating our own fresh lunches at the school have perks, but what about food options? A better idea would be to advance on vegetarian options that cater more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, soy foods, and more dairy products. Creating new and exciting options will attract more students to lunch and they may even start to find the lunch appetizing. On September 14, 2017, an ERWC class taught by Edward Cruz conducted an eleven question survey about eating habits and preferences at McNair. The survey questioned the appeal of school lunches and found that only 31% of students found the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It tells about scientific proposals for the extinction of dinosaurs a confusing but an exciting problem that humanity tries to solve. Large amounts of iridium a chemical element that is not a part of the Earth s crust composition were originally found in rocks of Europe and United States, and have been found everywhere ever since. Iridium, common in meteorites, is a testable evidence of the disaster hypothesis. Gould continues that the Cretaceous debacle, which is one of five episodes of mass dying, occurred at the same time as the large comet might have smashed into the Earth. The author believes this is not merely a coincidence, rather, it is a proof of the cause effect relationship. The demise of a wide range of habitats along with the extinction of dinosaurs gives an inestimable advantage to the disaster theory over other claims, the author adds. The comet struck the Earth, and habitats, from terrestrial to marine, died with geological suddenness. Finally, this hypothesis has had an impact on the study of an atomic war and its consequences. A nuclear war, Gould says, may cause a huge drop in temperatures and result in the extinction of humanity. Testable evidence, study, development, contribution all this makes good science. The drug theory is a useless speculation and an example of bad science.
