Business process management (BPM) is a mature business discipline that uses technologies to support agile organizations that can adapt to change, innovate, improve processes, and analyze results. As business environments increasingly rely on web services and mobility for collaboration, BPM vendors are augmenting their packages with more Web 2.0 functionality. Cloud-based BPM addresses these new demands by allowing for discovery of web components and increased emphasis on mobility and collaboration to support agile and current business processes.

This presentation will highlight the key legal issues associated with cloud computing and some implementation methods for minimizing or mitigating those risks.
There are numerous legal issues in cloud computing like operational, legislative or regulatory, security, third party contractual limitations, risk allocation or mitigation, and jurisdictional issues. Security, privacy and confidentiality remain the biggest concern for the data owner, as when the data is stored on the cloud the same might be accessible to multiple users. There is concern for its safety and protection of valuable data and trade secrets. Then there are intellectual property issues regarding ownership of and rights in information and services placed in the cloud.

Virtualization, briefly, is the separation of resources or requests for a service from the underlying physical delivery of that service. It is a concept in which access to a single underlying piece of hardware is coordinated so that multiple guest operating systems can share a single piece of hardware, with no guest operating system being aware that it is actually sharing anything at all.

How to Simplify and Streamline Process Improvement with BPMAppian
Get the guide to modern BPM: http://ap.pn/2Dvvcin
The business process management (BPM) world is going through a period of transition as process management tools are increasingly built into large-scale platforms that complete a wide range of functions. Low-code development platforms and similar solutions that fuel digital transformation stand out here. As organizations build their operations around digital technologies, they need to ensure BPM functionality does not end up slipping into the background. Companies that neglect BPM can end up in a situation where chaotic processes undermine the benefits of the underlying technologies being deployed.
Businesses that want to embrace digital transformation need process excellence to spur value creation. See how BPM tools can make process improvement easy, laying the groundwork for long-term efficiency and sustainable innovation.

Business Process Management (BPM) adoption is increasing world-wide, because the technology provides immediate ROI and enables competitiveness by delivering organizational agility. In fact, a recent study from Gartner found that 78% of successful BPM projects delivered an internal rate of return greater than 15%, with some returns as high as 100% or 360%. This paper discusses how BPM enables organizational agility and delivers immediate ROI.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Cloud business process management
1. Cloud Business Process ManagementCloud Business Process Management
Business process management (BPM) is a mature business
discipline that has spawned a number of technologies to support it.
Today it is the agile who survive those organizations who are able
to adapt to change, to innovate as well as continuously improve, and
to continuously monitor and analyze the results of these adaptations.
In the current web enabled business environment, processes in
many cases depend on the discovery and recognition of components
that exist as web services.
the current trend is towards increased emphasis on mobility and
collaboration as essential elements to support the agility and
currency of business processes.
This means that BPM vendors are increasingly seeking to augment
their BPM packages by incorporating greaterWeb 2.0 type
functionality.
Cloud based BPM is one response to these new demands.
