This lesson plan aims to teach fourth grade students about social issues involved with the Olympic games. There are 20 students in the class from diverse backgrounds. The plan incorporates various teaching methods like YouTube videos, Pinterest, storytelling, and podcasts to accommodate different learning styles. Objectives are for students to explain and describe social issues and their effects on society with 90% accuracy. Methods include using a Smart Board for multimedia, Pinterest to show images, a YouTube storytelling video, and podcasts. Materials will be tested beforehand. Students will participate through discussion, writing, and a Facebook post assessment. Comprehension will be evaluated through questioning and allowing student-led portions of the lesson.
