Twitter Reflection
Jerry Blumengarten (@cybraryman1) is a really useful guy to follow as he is always
tweeting information about how to engage students using the internet and other social
media outlets. He is very passionate in making sure you know exactly what you are
looking for and he tries to make it the easiest way for you. However, on his web site
cybraryman.com he categorizes the internet for us almost helping us find what we are
looking for a lot easier. When I visited his site and went to Educators section and found
Physical Education it listed every source and resource I could possibly want to help with
my Physical Education classroom. This was so helpful to go through and find different
things from the Fitness Gram to playground and street games it had it all. My favorite
part was the Technology and Integration part, where it gave multiple resources on how
to involve technology with my physical education class. It was greatly eye opening to
see how many ways I could incorporate technology. I would recommend following him
and checking out his website for very useful information categorized for easy finding.
Literally everything you could possibly need!!
2. Tom Altepeter (@tomaltepeter) is a unique character but one I rather to enjoy to follow.
He tweets a lot of thoughtful quotes that make you think. You can tell he advocates for
intercultural responsiveness and racial equality pretty heavily by his tweets. He tweets
not only quotes but also links to usually leading to a story of social injustice. He also
tweets some his interests or hobbies like sports and such that makes you just like the
guy more because you see a personal side as well as being a good Educator.
HAHA He caught us! This next tweet he posted I thought was a pretty good representation myself on the
subject it shows.
3. Pernille Ripp (@pernilleripp) is a 5th
grade teacher from Wisconsin. She is also the creator of Global
Read Aloud Project a global literacy initiative. Pernille is very passionate about her job as she tweets very
positive and helpful things throughout the day that a teacher can use as a valuable resource. Her blog she
tweets about is absolutely amazing and a great follow for any Educator.
These are just some of the blogs she tweets out daily that you can read and find helpful in almost any
situation you might find youself in. This is really helpful and an insightful follow.
Harold Blanco (@CI350class) is a good follow with very useful information. Harold tweets a plethora of
information about social media whether it be how to effectively incorporate it into your classroom, how to
socially behave on social media and so forth. That information will be great to use in class to help explain
4. to students the proper use of social media and what is and isnt acceptable use. Harold does show that he
stays physically active as he is always Mountain Biking pretty far distances of five miles or more
regularly. His tweets during the month of March though were quite sad as he was tweeting about what
was happening in Venezuela and how no one was doing anything about it.
Overall, I thought the four people I followed for this assignment were quality follows and ones that I will
continue to follow because they do give so much information for teachers to use that it should be taken
advantage of.
