Sir Christopher Wren was an English architect, astronomer, mathematician and physicist born in 1632 in East Knoyle, Wiltshire, England. He is known for designing over 50 churches in London, most notably St. Paul's Cathedral, as well as many secular buildings after the Great Fire of London in 1666. Some of his notable works include the Sheldonian Theatre at Oxford, the chapel at Pembroke College in Cambridge, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Royal Naval College, Trinity College Library, Hampton Court Palace, and the Wren Building at the College of William & Mary. He was a founding member of the Royal Society and died in 1723 at the age of 91 in London.
