World History Essays
Crafting an essay on the expansive subject of "World History" presents a formidable challenge to
any writer. The sheer breadth and depth of historical events, cultural shifts, and geopolitical
transformations demand a thorough understanding and a keen analytical eye. The task involves
navigating through millennia of human experiences, tracing the intricate tapestry of civilizations,
and unraveling the complexities that have shaped our world.
The difficulty lies not only in comprehending the vast expanse of historical epochs but also in
synthesizing this wealth of information into a cohesive and engaging narrative. The writer must
carefully select and organize details, deciding what to include and what to omit, all while
maintaining a balance between depth and brevity. Tackling the subject of world history requires a
skillful blend of research, critical thinking, and the ability to draw insightful connections
between seemingly disparate events.
Moreover, the challenge is heightened by the necessity to approach the topic from various
perspectives – cultural, political, economic, and social. This multifaceted analysis demands a
nuanced understanding of diverse historical contexts and an ability to weave together different
threads into a coherent argument. The writer must also grapple with interpreting conflicting
accounts and perspectives, acknowledging the inherent subjectivity of historical narratives.
The process of writing such an essay involves extensive research, often delving into primary
sources, scholarly works, and reputable historical accounts. Synthesizing this information into a
coherent and compelling argument requires time, dedication, and a meticulous attention to detail.
Crafting a well-structured essay on world history demands not only historical acumen but also
proficiency in articulating complex ideas in a clear and accessible manner.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the vast and intricate subject of world history is a challenging
undertaking that demands intellectual rigor, comprehensive research, and adept synthesis of
diverse information. It is a task that necessitates a deep appreciation for the complexities of
human civilization and a commitment to presenting a nuanced and thoughtful analysis.

Research Paper On The Klondike Gold Rush
The Klondike Gold Rush made people drool for money. The Klondike Gold Rush
was an event that took place in the late 1800 s. Common people wanted to find
gold so they could become as rich as a leprechaun. You would do this by walking
the Golden Staircase to Yukon, Klondike, or Alaska. 100,000 people did this in the
frigid cold. Lots of people risked their lives to find gold to become rich. The
Klondike Gold Rush was a very life threatening thing to do. I would not do this
because money is not worth your life. You may be poor, but trying to survive in the
wild is better than freezing from hypothermia and eating raw food that is not good
for you. In the text it says, Most people that were in the Klondike got sick from
having to eat
The One Minute Manager Sparknotes
The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard is a brief guide which claims to
streamline and improve all aspects of a reader s professional and personal life.
Which begs the question: what is a one minute manager? The book tells readers that
most managers fall into one of two roles. There is the tough or authoritarian
manager, who focuses on results but doesn t treat their employees with
understanding or respect. There is also the kind, democratic manager, who spends
their energy ensuring their staff s well being but allows their organization itself to
suffer. Neither manager is working in their organization s best interests. Balanced
managers who focus equally on results and their staff s well being are able to meet
the best results and be the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At camp this summer, the CIT director made appointments with each counsellor in
training to assess their performance. Like the One Minute Manager, she
specifically told us what we did right, like helping a camper with a new skill, or
creating an engaging program. She also explained how it contributed positively to
the camp community. The One Minute Manager must consistently give a positive
response even if he is unhappy with other aspects of his work. The CIT director
praised us even though she was unhappy about a CIT leaving camp. Her praise
made me want to work even harder to influence the camp and receive even more
positive reception. This shows that One Minute Praising is about more than simple
kindness. One Minute Praising is a great example of how treating one s employees

Nuclear Power Essay
Nuclear power is a technology that has enormous benefits for humankind. As the
demand for energy is only continuing to grow, it has become important to develop
energy technology that has good yield and minimal negative side effects. After the
harnessing of the atom for use in nuclear weapons, the knowledge of how to exploit
the atom became incorporated in nuclear powerplants (Corradini 1). These use
uranium fuel in a process that releases tremendous amounts of energy to be captured,
but also that creates minimal waste and other byproducts. Despite these, the benefits
of nuclear energy outweigh any disadvantages, as seen by its high energy output,
reliability, and minimal environmental impact when compared to energy sources such
as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition to this, the usage of nuclear power is expected to expand in the future.
In order to keep up with the aforementioned rising global energy demand, electricity
generated via nuclear power is, by 2030, projected to increase by 29% from the 2.7
trillion kilowatt hours of energy generated in 2006 (Adamantiades). This increase
will be footed by the creation of new nuclear power plants all around the world. For
example, the United Nations has been approached by more than 40 developing
countries, ranging from the Gulf to Latin America, about beginning nuclear energy
programs. As well, 21 new reactors are under construction and 150 are being
planned in Asia. Further plans exist or are being discussed to increase the nuclear
energy output of countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico (Adamantiades).
Overall, the high output of nuclear energy is providing and will continue to provide
a practical energy source which can fill the global energy demand. Another primary
component of nuclear power s appeal is its high energy density; that is, the fuel used
for nuclear power can generally produce more electricity than can be produced by an
equivalent amount of fuel in a different power plant technology. For example, coal
fired plants, which meet the most of the global energy demand, are capable of
generating 0.35 megawatt days of electricity for every metric ton of coal burned. By
We The People Of The People’S Republic Of China
Established
We the people of the People s Republic of China established our republic in 1912.
The country is one of the largest country in the eastern hemisphere, and it possesses a
long, rich, and prosperous history. The nation is the fourth largest country in size, but
the largest in population, with 1.8 billion people residing within our borders.
Unfortunately, it leaves a limited amount of food. Accordingly, in our mission to
insure that our own people get enough food and a healthy diet, we have found
genetically modified organisms, or GMOs to be of value.
A genetically modified organism (GMO, also known as a genetically engineered
organism) is defined as any living organism whose genetic material has been altered

Due to limited space, we need to import food. In 2011, we became the world s
largest importer of goods (food?), above Germany, and in 2014, our importation of
food (?)cost nearly 13,668,400,000,000 yuan (13.67 trillion yuan, or 2 trillion USD).
Nevertheless, our government is still trying to slow down the amount of food
coming into the country. Farmers have been allowed to grow crops that are to be
genetically engineered, and geneticists are genetically modifying foods. This was
deemed legal after we created a commercially, mass produced, viral resistant
tobacco plant in 1992. In ancient China, people were genetically engineering crops
and breeding animals (known as domestication) beginning as early as 6,000 B.C.E.
Our authorities have allowed growing within our borders since the republic was
created, in 1912. Our government actually wants farmers to do it themselves. From
December 2015 through April 2016, our authorities turned away 1.5 million tons of
U.S. corn, which is one of our biggest imports. The 1.5 million tons amount to 36%
of our corn imports. Authorities say it is because the crop contained a GMO strain
not yet permitted to import, but U.S. growers believe that it is because our
authorities are shielding their own growers and geneticists because we are growing
and genetically modifying the corn ourselves.
Xi Jinping, president of China, stated that, When we talk about the quality and safety

Globalization and American Workforce in the Twentieth
Century
15 October 2011 Globalization and American Workforce in the Twentieth Century
Globalization is nothing new, since ancient times; people have been selling and
buying their goods to each other. America was found by Europeans, when they
were looking for new routes to expand their commerce and trade. In the last decade
thanks to advances in communication and technology the commerce around the
world has increased to a level never seen before. This globalization however has
brought some changes and challenges to the American workforce: jobs have been

better prepare to adapt to the demands of the new millennium, and possibly they
will be positioned better in the labor market, and people with little education or
technological expertise will experience a decline in wages or unemployment. In
the next few years the competition between countries, companies and individuals
will be fierce, but people with knowledge and skills will be safe. Globalization has
brought many changes in the economy and many jobs are lost, people are not sure
which way to go when choosing a career. People with qualifications in math,
science, English and trades, will be able to succeed and also they will enjoy
incomes that their parents never imagined. There are some jobs in the service area

Myth By Natasha Trethewey Analysis
One of the things that is so fascinating about poetry is that it allows readers to
discover and sometimes challenge and channel their emotions as well as their
understanding. A poem s words as well as its structure can reveal many things to
its intended audience. In Myth by Natasha Trethewey, the poems form is just as
important as the words she writes, becoming a map for the journey Trethewey
takes, using transitions to take us from one place to another. The nature of the
poem therefor becomes multifaceted, as it encourages the reader to think about the
speaker s words and use of form and structure she uses to craft this epic story. Using
form as a tool, Trethewey is able to use structure as a way to guide us as readers and
the speaker across the conscious and unconscious thoughts and dreams the speaker
faces in this story.
The title Myth seems to be appealing to the Greek tradition of storytelling, and the
poem itself seems to be motivated by or at least influenced by Erebus, a Greek deity,
who is the personification of darkness and shadows. In Greek mythology, Erebus, is
referred to as the limbo the dead have to pass to reach Hades, who rules the
underworld of death. In her poem, Trethewey uses Erebus s as dream like Rift
between sleeping and waking in which the speaker is able to see the lost loved one
is alive and well. In the poem Trethewey references the Erebus in the beginning of
stanza two and end of stanza five. Of course, this is easy to relate to Trethewey
The Exponential Model Coordinates Population Growth
Essay
Discussion
Commonly speaking, the theoretical and practical outcome of corresponding
experiments done before should be similar with the results of this time.
The exponential model approximates population growth in its early stage. Table 3.4.1
shows the numbers generated by an organism that doubles at each cycle.
Table 3.4.1:
Number of Generations: 0 1 2 ... 10 ... 25 ... 40 ... 72
Number of Organisms: 1 2 4 ... 1024 3.4 x 10^7 1.1 x 10^12 4.7 x10^21. (Yeagers et
al. 1996).
Similarly, the first two growth graphs drawn above are also in acceleration phase in
the beginning, except the fact that there is a sudden decrease of P. caudatum on the
12th day. However, as on the following two days the number does not continue to go
down, there must be some errors when sampling and counting. Despite that the person
who conducted the experiment might operate inaccurately during some steps, one of
the most common error could happen when counting. Moving swiftly here and there,
not all paramecium would slow down obviously, which easily triggers counting
mistake.
But as the density of the population increases, certain resources such as food and
space become scarce, predation and disease increase, and waste begins to accumulate.
These negative conditions generate a feedback effect: Increasing population density
produces conditions that slow down population growth. An equilibrium situation
results, in which the population
Afro-Futurism Analysis
Through a number of important essays, Marleen Barr s Afro Futurism opens up a
conversation about racial autonomy and collective agency in a literary space that
seems to have been reluctant to even whisper about such things: namely, Science
Fiction. Maybe that is not all that surprising given the genre s predominantly
white(ned?) literary categorization that, while it has no outright barred people of
color, has not in turn seemed to make any meaningful space for them, either .
Indeed, there is such an implicit racial claim of science fiction by White Culture
that when a person of color is cast in one of the starring roles of a major Science
Fiction production oh, let s say Star Wars: The Force Awakens that there is a
massive outcry and calls for boycott and existential fears of white erasure. Yet,
despite this struggle for ownership, the fit between Science Fiction and people of
color appears to be an intuitive one. Mark Dery ( Black to the Future ) poignantly
points out, effectively noting that African Americans are always already seen and
constructed as Other/Alien (8) . Is that all that surprising? Not... Show more content

(This will become a smooth transition into the next chapter which deals more
broadly with the reclaiming of forgotten histories.) This version of Afro futurism
steers Science Fiction in a direction it seemingly did not know it needed to go: a
science factionalist therianthrophy, or an anti Cartesian synthesis of mind and body
at the site of the exploited female body of color. Although the characters she
references use their abilities as means of escape, it s important to note here they are
embracing (as opposed to revert back to) animal shape shifting (in other words,
effectively curtailing the black woman as animalistic
The Effect Of Surprise Recall On Memory Essay
Analyzing the Effect of Surprise Recall and Expected Recall on Memory
Whether or not we acknowledge it, memory is one of the most important processes
that our brain preforms every day. Everything we do sensory or procedural is
recorded in some way into our memories, some memories only last a brief amount
of time while others may last a life time depending on the amount of rehearsal and
encoding. Though this is by far not a perfect system, we create schemas in our brains
(or short cuts) to aid in memory; yet sometimes due to these schemas we actually
not remember something properly creating a false memory (Olszewska
Ulatowska, 2013). This due to an error in the person s episodic memory, this is the
type of memory that is person specific for remembering events; word pairs or
particular words seen in a list (Cabeza et al., 1997). Finding put such a
phenomenon has led to many to study how memory works, and ways too mesure
what memory actually is. We can test this episodic memory using recall tests in
which participants try to write the remembered word. Another test would be a
recognition test in which studied items, such as a word list, are mixed with new
words. The participants have to decide yes or no that the item was previously seen
before (yes) or novel (no) (Cabeza et al., 1997).
There have been studies in the past conducted to find where exactly in the brain
memory may reside, using positron emission tomography (PET) scans to see where
the most blood flows into the
Truth and Goodness in Immanuel Kant and St. Thomas...
Immanuel Kant and St. Thomas Aquinas account for the existence of truth in sharply
contrasting ways. Kant locates all truth inside the mind, as a pure product of reason,
operating by means of rational categories. Although Kant acknowledges that all
knowledge originates in the intuition of the senses, the intelligibility of sense
experience he attributes to innateforms of apperception and to categoriesinherent to
the mind. The innate categories shape the phenomena of sensible being, and Kant
claims nothing can be known or proved about the noumena, the presumed world
external to the mind.1 Aquinas agrees that all knowledge comes through the senses,
but disagrees with Kant in arguing that categorical qualities do not originate... Show

The two views of truth have divergent consequences for ethics. Aquinas philosophy
produces a tradition of moral clarity that endures to the present, while the philosophy
of Kant leads ultimately to the cultural relativism and moral skepticism that are
widespread in the modern world.
For Immanuel Kant, truth is accessible to the mind only because it derives from
rational categories already in the mind. Although knowledge begins in the senses,
Kant claims, besides what is given to the sensuous intuition, special concepts must
yet be superadded concepts which have their origin wholly a priori in the pure
understanding, and under which every perception must be first of all subsumed and
then by their means changed into experience. 6 The sources of such synthetic a priori
concepts are categories inherent in reason, and Kant supplies a table of such
categories, including in it: Unity (measure), Plurality (magnitude), Totality (whole),
Reality, Negation, Limitation, Substance, Cause, Community, Possibility, Existence,
and Necessity.7 Thus, the understanding of any perceived thing as a whole entity, or
as having an independent material existence, or as being caused by anything, or as
itself the cause of anything has its origin in rational categories in the mind and is not
traceable to any essential quality or state of being that can be attributed to the thing in
itself, according to Kant.
Filippo Brunelleschi Essay
Filippo Brunelleschi
Fillippo Brunelleschi is famous for such ideas and projects as the Cupola of the
Duomo in Florence and for the way he convoluted forms of classical architecture
according to the new spirit of his age. In the Florentine workshops he was trained as
a sculptor and goldsmith and in 1401 he became well known by winning a
competition for the second door of Baptistery Ex Aequo with Lorenzo Ghiberti, who
was commissioned to carry out the work. The Bargello Museum holds the panels of
the Sacrifice of Isaac that the two artists carried out for this competition. It is believed

Leone Battista Alberti
Leone Battista Alberti, born in Genoa in 1404, was a famous Italian philosopher,
painter, architect, musician, poet, and cryptographer and of the Renaissance period.
His most famous work was his Treatise De Picture which enclosed the first study of
perspective. Alberti was quite skilled in Latin verse and when he was twenty years
old, he wrote a comedy entitled Philodoxius. He was also wrote the fantasy novel
Hypnerotomachia Poliphili, which is considered one of the most imaginative and
legendary novels ever written (Encyclopedia4U 1).
When it came to music, he was known to be one of the first organists of the time. He
held the appointment of canon in Florence s metropolitan church (Encyclopedia4U 2).
In architecture, Alberti was regarded as very devout to restoring the formal
language of the classical architecture. He was employed by Pope Nicholas V at
Rome to restore the papal palace as well as the Roman aqueduct of Acqua Vergine. It

Alveolar Gas Exchange Lab Report
The interrelationships between alveolar gas exchange and alveolar arterial partial
pressure gradient of oxygen, carbon dioxide and oxygen haemoglobin saturation by
comparing normal breathing, hyperventilation and hypoventilation in university
students.
Introduction
Ventilation, the process for gas exchanging between lungs and air, involves the
inhalation and exhalation to maintain homeostasis. After inhalation, the first gas
exchange takes place in alveoli. Due to the difference in partial pressure of oxygen
(pO2) between the bloodstream and the alveoli, oxygen dissolves to diffuse into
the bloodstream and carried by the red blood cell (Blide et al., 1961). As soon as the
hemoglobin approaching to the target tissues, peripheral gas exchange occurs again
for the difference in partial pressure. In a similar process, carbon dioxide, a metabolic
waste diffused from the tissues and partially formed as bicarbonate, eventually is to
be removed by exhalation at alveoli (Johnson, 2008). ... Show more content on

As the gas exchange is a continuous process throughout the whole body, a reduced
inhalation means the amount of oxygen supply is reduced but an increase in CO2
due to less effective removal via fewer exhalations. In contrast, hyperventilation is
characterized as faster respiration, thus, the O2 in blood is relatively higher but
lower in CO2 for its fast
Comparison Of Cyber Monday And Black Friday
A growing number of businesses consider the Black Friday and Cyber Monday as
the two most profitable sales events of the year. Black Friday is the day after
Thanksgiving Day, which stands for the beginning of the Christmas shopping
season.Similarly, Cyber Monday is the Monday following the Black Friday in the
United States. It seems that both of the two shopping days will make the retailers and
consumers go crazy extremely in that time. Thus, people are gradually paying
attention to the cultureof consumerism, a phenomenon of over consumption, that is
represented by Black Fridayand Cyber Mondaywith the prevalence of the two
holidays.

a sense of material wealth (Baig 2014).Consumers just think they get good deals
subconsciously when they are crazy to buy the discounted items, but in fact,it will be
a matter of wasting something.Besides, Black Friday has jacked up the rate of
unemployment. Barry Gutierrezstated many companies fire their workers or cut their
pay in order to minimize the losses caused by lower prices on consumer goods
(Gutierrez 2011). This kind of business strategic hurt the employees greatly.
Facing with the bad influences of Black Friday, people increasingly boycott the
shopping days. Roger A. Dickinson and Mary L.Carsky said: Boycotts hurt particular
firms or areas by creating an emotional response from the larger culture that is
translated into economic action by consumers (Dickinson Carsky 2005). To some
extents, such boycotts affect consumer

Han Empire Vs Roman Empire Essay
Between 400 and 600 CE, the Han and Roman empire empire fell. During the Han
Empire of China, the silk roads were opened, allowing major cultural exchange and
economic growth. The Han empire also grew within iron metallurgy, silk textiles,
and paper. The Roman Empire, surrounding the Mediterranean ocean, was run on a
republic, traded with other areas in the mediterranean area for a bountiful
economy, and saw the development of early christianity. The causes for which they
fell were similar in that they all experienced major epidemics, poor leadership, and
land distribution issues. The first reason for the fall included widespread
epidemics. Smallpox, measles, and the bubonic plague spread rapidly in both
empires, due to lack of medical knowledge and new interactions between people of
different areas, carrying different diseases. The outbreak of diseases claimed the
lives of a large portion of both empires. With the population down, trade decreased

of hatred towards foreigners, in particular, terrorists. In the beginning of the movie

level of hatred and disgust for the prawns intruding on their town. In the real world,
we see this same form of hatred or disgust from certain people about the immigrants

to push the issue that there is great hatred throughout the world today. The main
reason he produced the film in Johannesburg was because there were high tensions
between native south Africans and Zimbabwean refugees. He wanted to try to make

Importance Of Economic Market Structures
Importance of Economic Market Structures Before an organization or investor makes
a strategic decision to enter a product in today s economy, a thorough market analysis
is vital to fully comprehend the domestic and international demand, current suppliers,
entry and exit barriers present, and cost of production for the product or service being
provided. The culmination of this investigation identifies the market structure the
product resides in, associated potential long run profitability, cost efficiency,
survivability, and incentives for future entrepreneurs. This paper will describe the
characteristics of four such market structures: perfect competition, monopolistic

It is important to keep in mind that this is a theoretical model. Real data does not
exist, and the model does not precisely describe reality. (Amacher Pate, 2012) The
perfect competition model is based on defined assumptions which prevent its
adaptation into a real life economy; however it is often described as the baseline
model to compare all other structures. These assumptions are: (1.) Large volume of
buyers and sellers: A perfect competition market has many buyers and sellers so
none are able to influence the market. (2.) Homogenous products: All producers
generate the same product with no differentiation. (3.) Excellent or perfect
knowledge: Buyers and sellers have an extensive amount of information about the
product and other producers. (4.) Free entry and exit into the market: Firms are able
to allocate resources in and out of this market easily with little expense. (5.) Firms
are able to quickly to respond to a changing consumer demand. (6.)Workers and other
resources are easily moved in and out of the industry.
While there is not one organization which is able to meet all of these assumptions,
one of the best examples to illustrate a perfect competition market structure is the
agricultural model. If a farmer produces one field of corn out of literally thousands
harvested per year, it will not affect the market supply or price if he or she produces

Leeches Research Paper
Leeches are found all over the world and are found in freshwater. The closest worm
to a leech is an earthworm. Certain types can grow up to 16 inches in length.
Leeches have suckers on both parts of their body and when you are bitten by a
leech, their saliva causes blood to increase and it prevents blood clots. They have
very sharp teeth, but small jaws. A leech has 32 brains and most of them sucks
blood. Not just humans get bit by leeches, but also animals. A leech can take in the
amount of blood 5 times more than they weigh. Since leeches eat so much, they
can go without food for a whole year. Digestion in a leech is very slow because it
gives room for the leech to live and can last up to several months. Leeches have

Herbert Hoover s The Great Depression
Herbert Hoover got many things wrong about the great economic calamity that
destroyed his presidency and his historical reputation, but he got one thing right.
Much legend to the contrary, the Great Depression was not entirely, perhaps not even
principally, made in America. The primary cause of the Great Depression, was the war
of 1914 1918. Though economists and historians continue to this day to debate the
proximate causes of the Great Depression, there can be little doubt that the deepest
roots of the crisis lay in the several chronic infirmities that afflicted the post World
War I international economic order and touched every country on the planet. The
fighting had taken a cruel toll on key economies like those of Britain, France, and
Germany, the core societies of the advanced industrialized world. The lingering
distortions in trade, capital flows, and exchange rates occasioned by the heedlessly
punitive Treaty of Versailles, as the economist John Maynard Keynes observed at the
time, managed to perpetuate in peacetime the economic disruptions that had brought
so much hardship in wartime. What was more, memories of the war s bitter fighting

Marvin Gaye Analysis
Many people may not know that the song Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth has a very
dark and naughty meaning behind it. The song is about a conversation between a boy
and a girl that is attracted to each other, though many may not understand the allusion
Marvin Gaye that is being used in this song. There are many repetitions which
emphasizes the message that is trying to be given in the song between the boy and
the girl.
First of the allusion Until the dawn let s Marvin Gaye and get it on is referring to a
song released by Marvin Gaye called Let s get it on. In this song a boy is convincing
a girl to have sex with him. The song Marvin Gaye is actually a song about
convincing a woman to have sexual relationship with a man.

Indian Ball Game Research Paper
Indian Ball Game
Lacrosse is an exciting and fast paced sport with almost nonstop action from start
to finish. The strategy is simple. Players move a ball down a field using sticks with
nets on them. A goal is scored by hurling the ball past the other team s goaltender
into an upright net. Lacrosse is played at all levels of athletics. There are
professional, amateur, and school teams, and there are scholarships for those who
play it in college.
Lacrosse was invented by American Indians in the 1400 s. Imagine if you went back
in time six hundred years to a game between Indian villages. The atmosphere was
like a festival. There was a dance before the game to celebrate the event. The players
painted their bodies with symbols and participated
When I Heard The Learn D Astronomer Poem Analysis
Haleigh Youll
When I Heard The Learn d Astronomer Almost every college student in the world
can relate to being bored in a lecture hall. Old professors teaching boring material that
does not relate to what you want to be doing with your time. In Walt Whitman s
poem, When I Heard the Learn d Astronomer, Whitman s character is describing just
that. The character leaves a lecture and is one within nature. The character uses past
tense throughout the entire poem. I believe that this poem is someone reflecting on a
moment in life where they made a choice between knowledge and true happiness. The
character s ability to connect with nature helps them make a tough decision about
what they want in life. The title and first line of the poem are ... Show more content

The character is no longer using terms of isolation when speaking. Whitman s use of
the word in shows the character is submerging themselves within nature. No longer
alone to deal with the real world. The characters thoughts are blending with the air
around them. Whitman s use of the word moist expresses the emotions the character
is feeling within nature. When I think of the word moist, I think of alive and
prospering. The character relates because they are no longer stagnant in life. The
characters decision to submerse themselves in the natural world will further liven up
their life. The character no longer has the weight of the world on their shoulders and
is free to be who they truly want to
Examples Of Conjustice In Venezuela
Nowadays, there is so much conflict and injustice everywhere. There are disputes
because of religious differences, there is not equality, not good quality of life, there is
low quality of life, healthcare, and human rights abuse. In the United States, Donald
Trump s election has raised concerns about human rights and conflicts in the future.
In Venezuela, Democracyhas been reduced by the Socialist party and people have
been sent to jail for belonging to the opposition political party. Moreover, the
country where I have been raised is no not the exception. Colombians have been
struggling because of the issues earlier mentioned. Therefore, as a person who has
indirectly witnessed a half century war that is the product of ideology political...

when dealing with their life routines and matters. Then, my first goal is to create or
lead a program that can introduce seminars, classes, subjects and credits about peace
and justice from elementary school to university education, in all programs. My
second life goal would be to promote these subjects as undergraduate and graduate
programs everywhere I can around the world. My third goal would be to have
interaction with vulnerable places where peace and justice programs can be operated.
Fourthly, the most important goal would be to promote the previous goals in my
country and the United States if possible, so they can be achieved and generate
peace and justice improvements in my country with the cooperation of others.
Finally, I would like to work in association with or by governmental organizations

How Is Henry Clerval A Foil In Frankenstein
In a literary work, a minor character, often known as a foil, possesses traits that
emphasize, by contrast or comparison, the distinctive characteristics and qualities of
the main character. In Frankenstein by Mary Shelley specifically, Victor
Frankenstein s role in the book is emphasized and exemplified best when his best
friend, Henry Clerval, plays a foil to him. Both characters are in many ways
divergent, and it is in fact these traits that reveal the most about the plight of
Frankenstein.
Henry Clerval and Victor Frankenstein possess numerous traits that are contrasting,
and at times, clashing and conflicting with each other. These clashing traits bring out

At its core, Pinterest is a form of social media specializing in the organization of

became famous for sharing things like recipes, arts and crafts, and photography, it

would be for teachers to use Pinterest to discover new methods for using IWB

whiteboard. For example, within the 10 Ways to use your Interactive Whiteboard

The Omega Man Research Paper
There are many similarities and differences between The Last Man on Earth and
The Omega Man . Both films are based on the book, I am Legend , by Richard
Matheson. The main character s name in The Last Man on Earth is Robert Morgan,
while it is Robert Neville in The Omega Man . The Last Man on Earth is placed in
1968 and The Omega Manis placed in 1975.
The symptoms of the disease are different in the films. Morgan lives in a world
where everyone else has been infected by a plague that has turned them into vampire
like creatures that cannot stand sunlight, fear mirrors, and are repelled by garlic.
They would kill Morgan, but they are weak and unintelligent. In The Omega Man, the
plague effects its victims in a different way. It turns them into an albino mutant group
called The Family. Their leader is a former news anchor named Matthias. These
people still have their intelligence, and they are able to function like humans. They

Bisphosphonates Case Studies
Bisphosphonates (BPs) are the most commonly prescription for postmenopausal
osteoporosis, however, difficult dosing regimens and multiple side effects can lead to
low compliance [5]. A large proportion achieve adequate low adherence with BPs at
1year, resulting in an increasing risk of fracture [6,7]. Moreover, some concerns
about bisphosphonates include gastrointestinal intolerability, musculoskeletal pain,
ocular symptom, acute renal failure, atrial fibrillation, a possible increased risk of
atypical femoral fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw [8]. Efficacy, tolerability, and
route of administration appear to be more important than frequency of dosing in
determining adherence to anti osteoporosis medications [9]. Nonetheless, there is...

Denosumab, which inhibits bone resorption by binding to the RANKL, was the first
biologic therapy approved to treat osteoporosis [11,12]. A large trial involving women
with a BMD T score between в€’2.5 and в€’4.0 at the lumbar spine or total hip
showed that treatment with denosumab (60 mg administered twice yearly by
subcutaneous injection) had a significantly lower risk of fractures than the placebo

continuing bisphosphonates. They found transition to denosumab produce greater
increases in BMD at all measured skeletal sites [14,15]. However, Anastasilakis et al.

bone turnover more than bisphosphonates, but the increases in BMD are comparable

Analysis Of Kotter s 1st Eight Stage Process
A useful concept that John Kotter provides is empowering people to effect change.
I have understood that effective change is harvested in the purpose organizations
serve to establish. This empowerment derives from the ability to communicate a
vision that initiates a sense of purpose and action. I understood that maintaining a
purpose for change is imperative in organizing the structure and cohesiveness of
dyads and individuals. It is essential for me to analyze my values and core culture
to the relevance and alignment towards changes. If I do not position my intent to
the organization s interests and objectives, I may be unable to deliver effective
change models and patterns. I would like to implement powerful conditions and
alliances to support both the organization s mission and the individuals collective
visions. Particularly, I am intrigued with the understandings in Kotter s 1st eight
stage process: creating a sense of urgency. Kotter reviews ways to raise the urgency
level. I considered possible ways to create urgency in an organization. If I am
seeking to demonstrate urgency from a personal position, I must use my emotional
intelligence to communicate the urgent relevancy to convince colleagues and
individuals. To assemble, I could place members in areas and task groupings that
reflect their core performance attributes. Assigning tasks from an aligned set of
skills can help quicken the pace and stability of our goals and projects. I can monitor
this process by
The Enuma Elin Creation Theth Of The Enlonian Creation
Myth
The Enuma Elish is the Babylonian Creation Myth. Written on seven stone tablets,
the poem describes the beginning of the universe as a separating of water from
Chaos. Essentially, the universe begins in a chaos of swirling waters until, with time,
the waters separate into Apsu and Tiamat. In response to this myth, the first book of
Genesis was written during the Babylonian Exile. Genesis 1 introduces how God
created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. In addition to this creation
story, there were another one written centuries before and it was written in Genesis
two and three. This story, famously described as The Fall of Man shows how God
created the creatures of the earth and humans that have dominion over them. It...

God created the sky and the waters like Marduk did as he split Tiamat into sky and
land, but it is important to note that God did this out of love and Marduk created
out of vengeance. (Genesis 1:6 7, Enuma Elish IV:134 146). From the third day
forward the order of creation was quite similar. A reader can assume that the order
might infer that the response was not of what order creation, but who the creator is
and why he made creation into existence.
The God in Genesis, through his peaceful speaking into the creation of the world
and humanity, can be seen as humble, peaceful, and is mysterious. In Enuma Elish,
the chaos and violence noted can make the reader infer that the gods are all
powerful and they have to make creation right, but from the spoken mouth of God,
all creation was good. On sixth generation of creation the Enuma Elish explains
that they will make man out of gruesome blood and bones from a casualty of war
the sixth generation of creation the Enuma Elish explains that they will make man
out of gruesome blood and bones from a casualty of war and that they will be

creation story says that God made man out of the dust of the ground with the breath
of God and the woman was made out of the man s rib to resemble a unique bond that

Free Health Care Clinics are Effective for The Uninsured...
Health has become an expensive affair to most people especially those that suffer
from long term diseases such as diabetes. Most of the uninsured people in the
neighborhood do not get the relevant healthcare service and hence they need a source
of better services such as free clinics that can deal with the major issues affecting
health (Huntington, 2012). The mobilization of these free clinics comes with a price
as they affect the community both positively and negatively. Free clinics can either
be temporary or permanent and this incurs different expenses depending on the type
of structure chosen. Free clinics are effective for those people without insurance as

Health problems have continued to increase due to socioeconomic changes,
demographics and the patterns of disease largely attributed to lifestyle. For example,
an area dominated my low income earners is likely to have more cares of illness,
their income lowers eligibility to health insurance and most of the investors as well
as charity may not be willing to setup healthcare centers in the areas. This has led
to an increase in demand for health care and a challenge is posed where there are
no facilities to cater for this demand. The health care system is plagued by
corruption and low quality care, which has led to low satisfaction of the consumers.
For instance, in case a patient is uninsured he or she is likely to wait for long to be
served in the public hospitals than the one who is insured.
The free clinics are in a position to attend to these problems as they will reduce
congestion in the hospitals and make those people without insurance plans to have
access to proper medication. This will immensely improve the living standards of
people as they get to eat and work well, which eventually will enhance economic
growth (Fertig, Corso Balasubramaniam, 2012). Health care is viewed to be a public
good and its demand and supply is not determined by the forces of the market. The
major problem that people face is the cost of treating ailments that require special
treatment. With the

Technical Limitations Of The Zeitgeist
Zeitgeist Zeitgeist is a German word that was first used in 1848. The literal
translation thereof is the spirit of the time. The Zeitgeist is the essence of an era,
and is more than simply slapping a few neon colours onto a design and saying that
it captures the Zeitgeist of the 1980s. Zeitgeist consists of the emotions, attitudes
and morals that are at the heart of every person in a time period. It is the main
thought processes and beliefs that create and direct the actions and styles of an
era. Zeitgeist can be represented in the literature, philosophy and the designs of
that time. Zeitgeist can be crucial to designers as it can allow them to connect
directly with the emotions and values of their customers if they completely
understand the Zeitgeist of the modern era. This understanding also gives
designers the opportunity to step away from the Zeitgeist and leave a big
impression on the consumer market. Zeitgeist is the product of the circumstances
and technical limitations of an era, as these can drastically influence the general
outlook of the people within a time period. For example, as explained by the
Merriam Webster online dictionary, the Zeitgeist of Victorian England was the
belief in pure industrial progress, while the Zeitgeist of 1980s United States was
the belief in money and one s ability to spend it. Alexander McQueen was a fashion
designer born in London in 1960. Once he graduated with a Master of Arts in 1992,

Frances Perkins came from a wealthy family in Maine. From her mother, she inherited
the propensity to be stingy with money, earnest, and brutally honest. In 1902, she
attended Mount Holyoke College, where she used her glibness to barely get by.
Instead of focusing on improving her strengths, Frances professors sought to improve
her weaknesses; Especially her moral ones. This was done with the idea in mind that
if she were to overcome her shortcomings, she would be able to conquer anything life

unemployment relief, a refined public works program, minimum wage laws, social

After Roosevelt agreed to the terms, she joined his cabinet becoming a champion of

resisting the idea of drafting women in the second World War, placing them in jobs
vacated by men. Like her I find great joy in helping other in need. After reading how
she fought to provide help for the mistreated laborers I was moved by her
humanitarianism.
3. Describe their Adam I tendencies.
Frances Adam I tendencies include: surprising herself to achieve her goals, changing
her appearance to gain the acceptance of her fellow politicians, keeping the state of
her husbands mental health under lock and key, her determination and stubbornness
when it came to accepting her job as Secretary of State, and her not allowing herself
to feel the strong emotions
Benefits Of Physical Exercise For Health
Declining physical activity is surprising because in the West, it is often believed
that many people do exercise. It is true that sports circles and newspaper articles
devoted to the benefits of physical exercise for health are more numerous than ever
but, overall, the information related to the usefulness of physical activity seem not
lead to behaviour change (O Brien et al 2015). Sedentary lifestyles have serious
consequences for public health. In particular, in recent years, obesity is increasing
dramatically throughout the European Region. Obesity, which is not simply a
matter of appearance, causes serious diseases and significantly increases the risk of
diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (O Brien et al 2015). Surveys in various
countries of the European Region show low levels of physical activity in many
populations. Physical activity seems to be disappearing. We travel by car more
than ever, take care jobs increasingly sedentary and spend our leisure by spending
less and less energy. Due to technical progress, even the simplest tasks are
mechanized and there is no need to strain to survive (O Brien et al 2015). The
fitness and sports is a global social phenomenon, recognized by all. It is clearly
growing from a few years worldwide, especially in Europe, America and Asia,
comprising all sport activities carried out in gyms. From one point of view it is
comparable to the process of hatching and development of modern sport in the 2nd
half of the twentieth century.
Gun Safety Regulations Research Paper
Guns can be extremely dangerous and cause physical harm the chance of this
increases exponentially when proper gun safety regulations aren t followed. Target
World, a shooting range and archery center in Cincinnati, follows a strict line of
safety regulations, and encourage their patrons to practice caution at all times. They
ve helped to underline some of the basic steps that people can take in order to be
safe at the gunrange.
Understand The Firearm: It s critical to understand how the firearm operates before
using it. Know how the safety works, how the handgun is loaded, and learn to take it
apart if applicable. If you understand the gun and how it works, then you ll be less
likely to have any accidents.

  • 2. Research Paper On The Klondike Gold Rush The Klondike Gold Rush made people drool for money. The Klondike Gold Rush was an event that took place in the late 1800 s. Common people wanted to find gold so they could become as rich as a leprechaun. You would do this by walking the Golden Staircase to Yukon, Klondike, or Alaska. 100,000 people did this in the frigid cold. Lots of people risked their lives to find gold to become rich. The Klondike Gold Rush was a very life threatening thing to do. I would not do this because money is not worth your life. You may be poor, but trying to survive in the wild is better than freezing from hypothermia and eating raw food that is not good for you. In the text it says, Most people that were in the Klondike got sick from having to eat
  • 3. The One Minute Manager Sparknotes The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard is a brief guide which claims to streamline and improve all aspects of a reader s professional and personal life. Which begs the question: what is a one minute manager? The book tells readers that most managers fall into one of two roles. There is the tough or authoritarian manager, who focuses on results but doesn t treat their employees with understanding or respect. There is also the kind, democratic manager, who spends their energy ensuring their staff s well being but allows their organization itself to suffer. Neither manager is working in their organization s best interests. Balanced managers who focus equally on results and their staff s well being are able to meet the best results and be the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At camp this summer, the CIT director made appointments with each counsellor in training to assess their performance. Like the One Minute Manager, she specifically told us what we did right, like helping a camper with a new skill, or creating an engaging program. She also explained how it contributed positively to the camp community. The One Minute Manager must consistently give a positive response even if he is unhappy with other aspects of his work. The CIT director praised us even though she was unhappy about a CIT leaving camp. Her praise made me want to work even harder to influence the camp and receive even more positive reception. This shows that One Minute Praising is about more than simple kindness. One Minute Praising is a great example of how treating one s employees well benefits your organization s
  • 4. Nuclear Power Essay Nuclear power is a technology that has enormous benefits for humankind. As the demand for energy is only continuing to grow, it has become important to develop energy technology that has good yield and minimal negative side effects. After the harnessing of the atom for use in nuclear weapons, the knowledge of how to exploit the atom became incorporated in nuclear powerplants (Corradini 1). These use uranium fuel in a process that releases tremendous amounts of energy to be captured, but also that creates minimal waste and other byproducts. Despite these, the benefits of nuclear energy outweigh any disadvantages, as seen by its high energy output, reliability, and minimal environmental impact when compared to energy sources such as... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition to this, the usage of nuclear power is expected to expand in the future. In order to keep up with the aforementioned rising global energy demand, electricity generated via nuclear power is, by 2030, projected to increase by 29% from the 2.7 trillion kilowatt hours of energy generated in 2006 (Adamantiades). This increase will be footed by the creation of new nuclear power plants all around the world. For example, the United Nations has been approached by more than 40 developing countries, ranging from the Gulf to Latin America, about beginning nuclear energy programs. As well, 21 new reactors are under construction and 150 are being planned in Asia. Further plans exist or are being discussed to increase the nuclear energy output of countries such as Brazil, Argentina, and Mexico (Adamantiades). Overall, the high output of nuclear energy is providing and will continue to provide a practical energy source which can fill the global energy demand. Another primary component of nuclear power s appeal is its high energy density; that is, the fuel used for nuclear power can generally produce more electricity than can be produced by an equivalent amount of fuel in a different power plant technology. For example, coal fired plants, which meet the most of the global energy demand, are capable of generating 0.35 megawatt days of electricity for every metric ton of coal burned. By
  • 5. We The People Of The People’S Republic Of China Established We the people of the People s Republic of China established our republic in 1912. The country is one of the largest country in the eastern hemisphere, and it possesses a long, rich, and prosperous history. The nation is the fourth largest country in size, but the largest in population, with 1.8 billion people residing within our borders. Unfortunately, it leaves a limited amount of food. Accordingly, in our mission to insure that our own people get enough food and a healthy diet, we have found genetically modified organisms, or GMOs to be of value. A genetically modified organism (GMO, also known as a genetically engineered organism) is defined as any living organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Due to limited space, we need to import food. In 2011, we became the world s largest importer of goods (food?), above Germany, and in 2014, our importation of food (?)cost nearly 13,668,400,000,000 yuan (13.67 trillion yuan, or 2 trillion USD). Nevertheless, our government is still trying to slow down the amount of food coming into the country. Farmers have been allowed to grow crops that are to be genetically engineered, and geneticists are genetically modifying foods. This was deemed legal after we created a commercially, mass produced, viral resistant tobacco plant in 1992. In ancient China, people were genetically engineering crops and breeding animals (known as domestication) beginning as early as 6,000 B.C.E. Our authorities have allowed growing within our borders since the republic was created, in 1912. Our government actually wants farmers to do it themselves. From December 2015 through April 2016, our authorities turned away 1.5 million tons of U.S. corn, which is one of our biggest imports. The 1.5 million tons amount to 36% of our corn imports. Authorities say it is because the crop contained a GMO strain not yet permitted to import, but U.S. growers believe that it is because our authorities are shielding their own growers and geneticists because we are growing and genetically modifying the corn ourselves. Xi Jinping, president of China, stated that, When we talk about the quality and safety of agricultural products, there s
  • 6. Globalization and American Workforce in the Twentieth Century 15 October 2011 Globalization and American Workforce in the Twentieth Century Globalization is nothing new, since ancient times; people have been selling and buying their goods to each other. America was found by Europeans, when they were looking for new routes to expand their commerce and trade. In the last decade thanks to advances in communication and technology the commerce around the world has increased to a level never seen before. This globalization however has brought some changes and challenges to the American workforce: jobs have been lost or outsourced, People are not sure what kind of skills will be necessary to have a successful career and what kind of jobs that will have great demand in the coming... They concluded that people will better prepare to adapt to the demands of the new millennium, and possibly they will be positioned better in the labor market, and people with little education or technological expertise will experience a decline in wages or unemployment. In the next few years the competition between countries, companies and individuals will be fierce, but people with knowledge and skills will be safe. Globalization has brought many changes in the economy and many jobs are lost, people are not sure which way to go when choosing a career. People with qualifications in math, science, English and trades, will be able to succeed and also they will enjoy incomes that their parents never imagined. There are some jobs in the service area that we can call safe, people who work in close contact with the persons fell
  • 7. Myth By Natasha Trethewey Analysis One of the things that is so fascinating about poetry is that it allows readers to discover and sometimes challenge and channel their emotions as well as their understanding. A poem s words as well as its structure can reveal many things to its intended audience. In Myth by Natasha Trethewey, the poems form is just as important as the words she writes, becoming a map for the journey Trethewey takes, using transitions to take us from one place to another. The nature of the poem therefor becomes multifaceted, as it encourages the reader to think about the speaker s words and use of form and structure she uses to craft this epic story. Using form as a tool, Trethewey is able to use structure as a way to guide us as readers and the speaker across the conscious and unconscious thoughts and dreams the speaker faces in this story. The title Myth seems to be appealing to the Greek tradition of storytelling, and the poem itself seems to be motivated by or at least influenced by Erebus, a Greek deity, who is the personification of darkness and shadows. In Greek mythology, Erebus, is referred to as the limbo the dead have to pass to reach Hades, who rules the underworld of death. In her poem, Trethewey uses Erebus s as dream like Rift between sleeping and waking in which the speaker is able to see the lost loved one is alive and well. In the poem Trethewey references the Erebus in the beginning of stanza two and end of stanza five. Of course, this is easy to relate to Trethewey
  • 8. The Exponential Model Coordinates Population Growth Essay Discussion Commonly speaking, the theoretical and practical outcome of corresponding experiments done before should be similar with the results of this time. The exponential model approximates population growth in its early stage. Table 3.4.1 shows the numbers generated by an organism that doubles at each cycle. Table 3.4.1: Number of Generations: 0 1 2 ... 10 ... 25 ... 40 ... 72 Number of Organisms: 1 2 4 ... 1024 3.4 x 10^7 1.1 x 10^12 4.7 x10^21. (Yeagers et al. 1996). Similarly, the first two growth graphs drawn above are also in acceleration phase in the beginning, except the fact that there is a sudden decrease of P. caudatum on the 12th day. However, as on the following two days the number does not continue to go down, there must be some errors when sampling and counting. Despite that the person who conducted the experiment might operate inaccurately during some steps, one of the most common error could happen when counting. Moving swiftly here and there, not all paramecium would slow down obviously, which easily triggers counting mistake. But as the density of the population increases, certain resources such as food and space become scarce, predation and disease increase, and waste begins to accumulate. These negative conditions generate a feedback effect: Increasing population density produces conditions that slow down population growth. An equilibrium situation results, in which the population
  • 9. Afro-Futurism Analysis Through a number of important essays, Marleen Barr s Afro Futurism opens up a conversation about racial autonomy and collective agency in a literary space that seems to have been reluctant to even whisper about such things: namely, Science Fiction. Maybe that is not all that surprising given the genre s predominantly white(ned?) literary categorization that, while it has no outright barred people of color, has not in turn seemed to make any meaningful space for them, either . Indeed, there is such an implicit racial claim of science fiction by White Culture that when a person of color is cast in one of the starring roles of a major Science Fiction production oh, let s say Star Wars: The Force Awakens that there is a massive outcry and calls for boycott and existential fears of white erasure. Yet, despite this struggle for ownership, the fit between Science Fiction and people of color appears to be an intuitive one. Mark Dery ( Black to the Future ) poignantly points out, effectively noting that African Americans are always already seen and constructed as Other/Alien (8) . Is that all that surprising? Not... This version of Afro futurism steers Science Fiction in a direction it seemingly did not know it needed to go: a science factionalist therianthrophy, or an anti Cartesian synthesis of mind and body at the site of the exploited female body of color. Although the characters she references use their abilities as means of escape, it s important to note here they are embracing (as opposed to revert back to) animal shape shifting (in other words, effectively curtailing the black woman as animalistic
  • 10. The Effect Of Surprise Recall On Memory Essay Analyzing the Effect of Surprise Recall and Expected Recall on Memory Whether or not we acknowledge it, memory is one of the most important processes that our brain preforms every day. Everything we do sensory or procedural is recorded in some way into our memories, some memories only last a brief amount of time while others may last a life time depending on the amount of rehearsal and encoding. Though this is by far not a perfect system, we create schemas in our brains (or short cuts) to aid in memory; yet sometimes due to these schemas we actually not remember something properly creating a false memory (Olszewska Ulatowska, 2013). This due to an error in the person s episodic memory, this is the type of memory that is person specific for remembering events; word pairs or particular words seen in a list (Cabeza et al., 1997). Finding put such a phenomenon has led to many to study how memory works, and ways too mesure what memory actually is. We can test this episodic memory using recall tests in which participants try to write the remembered word. Another test would be a recognition test in which studied items, such as a word list, are mixed with new words. The participants have to decide yes or no that the item was previously seen before (yes) or novel (no) (Cabeza et al., 1997). There have been studies in the past conducted to find where exactly in the brain memory may reside, using positron emission tomography (PET) scans to see where the most blood flows into the
  • 11. Truth and Goodness in Immanuel Kant and St. Thomas... Immanuel Kant and St. Thomas Aquinas account for the existence of truth in sharply contrasting ways. Kant locates all truth inside the mind, as a pure product of reason, operating by means of rational categories. Although Kant acknowledges that all knowledge originates in the intuition of the senses, the intelligibility of sense experience he attributes to innateforms of apperception and to categoriesinherent to the mind. The innate categories shape the phenomena of sensible being, and Kant claims nothing can be known or proved about the noumena, the presumed world external to the mind.1 Aquinas agrees that all knowledge comes through the senses, but disagrees with Kant in arguing that categorical qualities do not originate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two views of truth have divergent consequences for ethics. Aquinas philosophy produces a tradition of moral clarity that endures to the present, while the philosophy of Kant leads ultimately to the cultural relativism and moral skepticism that are widespread in the modern world. For Immanuel Kant, truth is accessible to the mind only because it derives from rational categories already in the mind. Although knowledge begins in the senses, Kant claims, besides what is given to the sensuous intuition, special concepts must yet be superadded concepts which have their origin wholly a priori in the pure understanding, and under which every perception must be first of all subsumed and then by their means changed into experience. 6 The sources of such synthetic a priori concepts are categories inherent in reason, and Kant supplies a table of such categories, including in it: Unity (measure), Plurality (magnitude), Totality (whole), Reality, Negation, Limitation, Substance, Cause, Community, Possibility, Existence, and Necessity.7 Thus, the understanding of any perceived thing as a whole entity, or as having an independent material existence, or as being caused by anything, or as itself the cause of anything has its origin in rational categories in the mind and is not traceable to any essential quality or state of being that can be attributed to the thing in itself, according to Kant.

Alveolar Gas Exchange Lab Report The interrelationships between alveolar gas exchange and alveolar arterial partial pressure gradient of oxygen, carbon dioxide and oxygen haemoglobin saturation by comparing normal breathing, hyperventilation and hypoventilation in university students. Introduction Ventilation, the process for gas exchanging between lungs and air, involves the inhalation and exhalation to maintain homeostasis. After inhalation, the first gas exchange takes place in alveoli. Due to the difference in partial pressure of oxygen (pO2) between the bloodstream and the alveoli, oxygen dissolves to diffuse into the bloodstream and carried by the red blood cell (Blide et al., 1961). As soon as the hemoglobin approaching to the target tissues, peripheral gas exchange occurs again for the difference in partial pressure. In a similar process, carbon dioxide, a metabolic waste diffused from the tissues and partially formed as bicarbonate, eventually is to be removed by exhalation at alveoli (Johnson, 2008). ... (Amacher Pate, 2012) The perfect competition model is based on defined assumptions which prevent its adaptation into a real life economy; however it is often described as the baseline model to compare all other structures. These assumptions are: (1.) Large volume of buyers and sellers: A perfect competition market has many buyers and sellers so none are able to influence the market. (2.) Homogenous products: All producers generate the same product with no differentiation. (3.) Excellent or perfect knowledge: Buyers and sellers have an extensive amount of information about the product and other producers. (4.) Free entry and exit into the market: Firms are able to allocate resources in and out of this market easily with little expense. (5.) Firms are able to quickly to respond to a changing consumer demand. (6.)Workers and other resources are easily moved in and out of the industry. While there is not one organization which is able to meet all of these assumptions, one of the best examples to illustrate a perfect competition market structure is the agricultural model. Much legend to the contrary, the Great Depression was not entirely, perhaps not even principally, made in America. The primary cause of the Great Depression, was the war of 1914 1918. Though economists and historians continue to this day to debate the proximate causes of the Great Depression, there can be little doubt that the deepest roots of the crisis lay in the several chronic infirmities that afflicted the post World War I international economic order and touched every country on the planet. The fighting had taken a cruel toll on key economies like those of Britain, France, and Germany, the core societies of the advanced industrialized world. The lingering distortions in trade, capital flows, and exchange rates occasioned by the heedlessly punitive Treaty of Versailles, as the economist John Maynard Keynes observed at the time, managed to perpetuate in peacetime the economic disruptions that had brought so much hardship in wartime. What was more, memories of the war s bitter fighting and vengeful conclusion rendered the post war international atmosphere toxic, poisoning the wells of traditional diplomacy and dooming any efforts at concerted multi lateral action to deal with the gathering crisis. Pinterest Evaluation Essay At its core, Pinterest is a form of social media specializing in the organization of images onto online boards for those who wish to share their findings or remember what they have discovered. As the name suggests, users take images that interest them and pin them to personalized boards they create. While Pinterest originally became famous for sharing things like recipes, arts and crafts, and photography, it has developed further into an image oriented advertising like media outlet, which allows users to trace an idea to other websites beyond Pinterest. The purpose of this evaluation is to access Pinterest as an educational tool for teacher use, specifically referencing two topics as my examples: U.S. History and Interactive Whiteboards.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These posts are usually linked to other websites where the author will give teachers advice on how to effectively use IWBs for educational purposes. The expectation would be for teachers to use Pinterest to discover new methods for using IWB activities in the classroom that go beyond the typical use of a projector or normal whiteboard. For example, within the 10 Ways to use your Interactive Whiteboard post, teachers are encouraged to use the IWB as a way to take attendance children walk into class or using Powerpoint games to appeal to students kinesthetic learning needs. In Interactive Whiteboard Success Tips, Natalie Lorenzi encourages teachers to utilize distance learning to allow the teacher to roam around the classroom instead of being stuck at the front by their desk; students can also manipulate the IWB activity from a distance to avoid having a whole class full of students trying to push their way to the board. These activities give the students the ability to make their learning experience their own, and teachers get the benefit of seeing their students stay engaged in the lesson throughout the class

The main character s name in The Last Man on Earth is Robert Morgan, while it is Robert Neville in The Omega Man . The Last Man on Earth is placed in 1968 and The Omega Manis placed in 1975. The symptoms of the disease are different in the films. Morgan lives in a world where everyone else has been infected by a plague that has turned them into vampire like creatures that cannot stand sunlight, fear mirrors, and are repelled by garlic. They would kill Morgan, but they are weak and unintelligent. In The Omega Man, the plague effects its victims in a different way. It turns them into an albino mutant group called The Family. Their leader is a former news anchor named Matthias. These people still have their intelligence, and they are able to function like humans. They want to kill Neville because they believe that technology and science is evil. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When it turns dark, Morgan locks himself inside his house. They think they are immune for different reasons though. Morgan thinks he is immune to the bacteria because he was bitten by an infected vampire bat, which introduced a diluted form of the plague into his blood. Neville believes he is immune because he injected himself with an experimental

Bisphosphonates Case Studies Bisphosphonates (BPs) are the most commonly prescription for postmenopausal osteoporosis, however, difficult dosing regimens and multiple side effects can lead to low compliance [5]. A large proportion achieve adequate low adherence with BPs at 1year, resulting in an increasing risk of fracture [6,7]. Moreover, some concerns about bisphosphonates include gastrointestinal intolerability, musculoskeletal pain, ocular symptom, acute renal failure, atrial fibrillation, a possible increased risk of atypical femoral fractures and osteonecrosis of the jaw [8]. Efficacy, tolerability, and route of administration appear to be more important than frequency of dosing in determining adherence to anti osteoporosis medications [9]. Nonetheless, there is... A large trial involving women with a BMD T score between в€’2.5 and в€’4.0 at the lumbar spine or total hip showed that treatment with denosumab (60 mg administered twice yearly by subcutaneous injection) had a significantly lower risk of fractures than the placebo group [13]. They found transition to denosumab produce greater increases in BMD at all measured skeletal sites [14,15]. However, Anastasilakis et al. reported that in patients previously treated with bisphosphonates, denosumab reduces bone turnover more than bisphosphonates, but the increases in BMD are comparable [16]. Recently, several high quality RCTs on transform to denosumab or to continue bisphosphonates had been published [17,18]. Thus, it is critical to integrate these findings to comprehensively evaluate the efficacy and safety of transition to denosumab or continuing bisphosphonates in postmenopausal women who received prior bisphosphonates therapy in order to guide and normalize its use on

I have understood that effective change is harvested in the purpose organizations serve to establish. This empowerment derives from the ability to communicate a vision that initiates a sense of purpose and action. I understood that maintaining a purpose for change is imperative in organizing the structure and cohesiveness of dyads and individuals. It is essential for me to analyze my values and core culture to the relevance and alignment towards changes. If I do not position my intent to the organization s interests and objectives, I may be unable to deliver effective change models and patterns. I would like to implement powerful conditions and alliances to support both the organization s mission and the individuals collective visions. Particularly, I am intrigued with the understandings in Kotter s 1st eight stage process: creating a sense of urgency. Kotter reviews ways to raise the urgency level. I considered possible ways to create urgency in an organization. If I am seeking to demonstrate urgency from a personal position, I must use my emotional intelligence to communicate the urgent relevancy to convince colleagues and individuals. To assemble, I could place members in areas and task groupings that reflect their core performance attributes. Assigning tasks from an aligned set of skills can help quicken the pace and stability of our goals and projects. I can monitor this process by

Written on seven stone tablets, the poem describes the beginning of the universe as a separating of water from Chaos. Essentially, the universe begins in a chaos of swirling waters until, with time, the waters separate into Apsu and Tiamat. In response to this myth, the first book of Genesis was written during the Babylonian Exile. Genesis 1 introduces how God created the world in six days and rested on the seventh. A reader can assume that the order might infer that the response was not of what order creation, but who the creator is and why he made creation into existence. The God in Genesis, through his peaceful speaking into the creation of the world and humanity, can be seen as humble, peaceful, and is mysterious. Most of the uninsured people in the neighborhood do not get the relevant healthcare service and hence they need a source of better services such as free clinics that can deal with the major issues affecting health (Huntington, 2012). Health problems have continued to increase due to socioeconomic changes, demographics and the patterns of disease largely attributed to lifestyle. For example, an area dominated my low income earners is likely to have more cares of illness, their income lowers eligibility to health insurance and most of the investors as well as charity may not be willing to setup healthcare centers in the areas. This has led to an increase in demand for health care and a challenge is posed where there are no facilities to cater for this demand. The health care system is plagued by corruption and low quality care, which has led to low satisfaction of the consumers. For instance, in case a patient is uninsured he or she is likely to wait for long to be served in the public hospitals than the one who is insured. The free clinics are in a position to attend to these problems as they will reduce congestion in the hospitals and make those people without insurance plans to have access to proper medication. This will immensely improve the living standards of people as they get to eat and work well, which eventually will enhance economic growth (Fertig, Corso Balasubramaniam, 2012). Health care is viewed to be a public good and its demand and supply is not determined by the forces of the market. The major problem that people face is the cost of treating ailments that require special treatment. With the

  • 40. Technical Limitations Of The Zeitgeist Zeitgeist Zeitgeist is a German word that was first used in 1848. The literal translation thereof is the spirit of the time. The Zeitgeist is the essence of an era, and is more than simply slapping a few neon colours onto a design and saying that it captures the Zeitgeist of the 1980s. Zeitgeist consists of the emotions, attitudes and morals that are at the heart of every person in a time period. It is the main thought processes and beliefs that create and direct the actions and styles of an era. Zeitgeist can be represented in the literature, philosophy and the designs of that time. Zeitgeist can be crucial to designers as it can allow them to connect directly with the emotions and values of their customers if they completely understand the Zeitgeist of the modern era. This understanding also gives designers the opportunity to step away from the Zeitgeist and leave a big impression on the consumer market. Zeitgeist is the product of the circumstances and technical limitations of an era, as these can drastically influence the general outlook of the people within a time period. For example, as explained by the Merriam Webster online dictionary, the Zeitgeist of Victorian England was the belief in pure industrial progress, while the Zeitgeist of 1980s United States was the belief in money and one s ability to spend it. Alexander McQueen was a fashion designer born in London in 1960. Once he graduated with a Master of Arts in 1992, he founded his own, self titled music

It is true that sports circles and newspaper articles devoted to the benefits of physical exercise for health are more numerous than ever but, overall, the information related to the usefulness of physical activity seem not lead to behaviour change (O Brien et al 2015). Sedentary lifestyles have serious consequences for public health. In particular, in recent years, obesity is increasing dramatically throughout the European Region. Obesity, which is not simply a matter of appearance, causes serious diseases and significantly increases the risk of diabetes and cardiovascular diseases (O Brien et al 2015). Surveys in various countries of the European Region show low levels of physical activity in many populations. Physical activity seems to be disappearing. We travel by car more than ever, take care jobs increasingly sedentary and spend our leisure by spending less and less energy. Due to technical progress, even the simplest tasks are mechanized and there is no need to strain to survive (O Brien et al 2015). The fitness and sports is a global social phenomenon, recognized by all. It is clearly growing from a few years worldwide, especially in Europe, America and Asia, comprising all sport activities carried out in gyms. From one point of view it is comparable to the process of hatching and development of modern sport in the 2nd half of the twentieth century.
