Write An Essay On Opiates
Opiates are a class of medications that are supposed to help relieve pain. When used correctly, they
prevent pain signals from reaching the brain. Unfortunately, opiates can become addictive over time.
Once someone is addicted, one of the first questions they ask is, How long do opiates stay in your
system? The answer to this question depends on the individual, the severity of their addiction and the
length of their addiction.
How Long Do Opiates Stay in Your System After Using Them?
An estimated 26.4 to 36 million people in the world are believed to abuse opiates. In general, opiates
have a short half life. This means that the chemicals leave the body fairly quickly. Depending on the
type of opiate, it can take a few hours or longer for the chemical to leave the body.

The Relationship Between Parents and Their Children in Silas Marner by George Eliot A child more

That Earth can offer to a declining man
Brings hope with it and forward looking thoughts. William Wordsworth
The novel Silas Marner was written by George Eliot in 1863. George Eliot s real name was Mary Ann

the tiny child wander into the warmth of Silas Marner s cottage. Silas takes the child and looks after it,

Nancy Lammeter but fails to have children with her. He goes to claim Eppie but Eppie decides to stay

baddies when Dunstan Cass is found at the bottom of a lake with Silas money.
Some of the Victorian values that would have influenced George Eliot are the traditional family values
and the role of women in families and society. Women were expected to stay at home and look after
the family. They were not expected to work or do anything to displease their husbands. At the time,
George Eliot was writing her book, the industrial revolution was also taking place and economic and
class values were changing. England was going through a series of tumultuous cultural, social and
economic transformations.
This could be reflected in the seemingly robotic work Silas does. He weaves continually only to save
every penny into a box under his floorboards for him to count and worship.
Silas first sees Eppie asleep by his fire and he sees not a

Lincoln s Attempt To Support D Estaing
American forces in the south, between 5,000 and 7,000 men, were based at Charleston under the
command of General Benjamin Lincoln. Lincoln recognized that he would need assistance from the
French navy and army to retake Savannah. On September 3, he learned that the French forces under
the command of Admiral Comte d Estaing were en route to Savannah, bringing with them ships of the
line and 4,000 soldiers. On September 11, Lincoln marched out of Charleston with 2,000 Continentals
to link up with d Estaing. Arriving first, d Estaing began offensive operations to take the city. He
initially offered Prevost an opportunity to surrender, but Prevost demurred, hoping that reinforcements
would arrive. He was given twenty four hours. This reprieve would prove in the end to be pivotal, as
1,000 men arrived to support Prevost s force just as Lincoln arrived to support d Estaing. The Allied
forces, when fully assembled, numbered near 7,000. Defending Savannah was a force totaling 2,500
men. Faced with overwhelming odds, Prevost organized a solid defensive plan. ... Show more content

Lincoln reluctantly ceded de facto command to d Estaing, who had begun operations before Lincoln s
arrival. The French commander believed that a frontal assault against the British position would be
futile and instead proposed to bombard the city. Lincoln concurred, French cannons were removed
from their ships, and a five day cannonade began. However, Savannah bore the brunt of the artillery
assault while the defensive positions remained relatively untouched, so d Estaing eventually agreed to
the frontal assault in spite of objections by his officers. He worried that a protracted siege would take
too long and wanted to redeem his glory that had been tarnished at Newport, Rhode Island.
Additionally, hurricane season was moving in and the British fleet was still lurking somewhere off the

Archibald Cronin. Beyond This Place. Summary
Beyond this place is a novel written by Scottish author Archibald Cronin. The book was written in
1953. This detective story is about a brave man called Paul Marthy. He wanted to get his father out of
prison because he was jailed unfairly and was imprisoned for 15 years. Paul was a young man. He was
getting a teacher s education. He was a good student and a wonderful sportsman. He lived with his
mother, Mrs Burgess, in Belfast. She was quite unsociable and reserved. The first five years of his life
Paul had spent in the North of England. He had very good relations with his father, Rees; they loved to
spend time together. Later his family moved to Wortley. When they lived there, his father died because
of a railway accident. Soon after ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The strangest thing was that Marthy never had one. He also said that the money bag belonged neither
to Mona, nor to Rees. This fact troubled Inspector Swann. So that man went to Mr Gillet, a well
known lawyer, to talk about the case. Paul decided to find out what they had to say. He found Swann
in a hospital. Swann said that there were a few facts about the case which seemed strange to him. For
example, the wounds to Mona were so terrible that only a powerful man could have done that, and
Rees was not very strong. Again, Edward and Louisa at first gave the wrong description of Rees, and
later they changed their evidence. Swann also said that Collins went to New Zealand, but Burt was
still in the city and worked for a rich family called Oswalds. So Paul made up his mind to become her
friend in hope she would give him some useful information. By the way, Paul went to George Birley,
the Member of Parliament for Wortley. He believed that Birley would help him. He tried to do so, but
the Secretary of State refused to re open the case. After seeing Louisa for a couple of times she told
him a few interesting things. For example, the fact that the murderer rode off on a green bike was true.
She knew that the murderer was a man who was a member of the Grasshoppers cycling club. He also
studied anatomy and had a strange kind of money bag made of human skin. Paul also found out that
Mona was never interested in married man. Rees, on the contrary, wasn t single. Moreover,

Status And Social Status
It is said that humans are social beings and we want to connect with other people, therefore it should
come as no surprise that social interaction is an essential part of our everyday lives. Social interaction
is a dynamic sequence of social actions between two or more individuals or groups and the foundation
of social structures. Social structures are patterns that guide our behaviour in everyday life and there
are two building blocks of social structure, status and role. A status is a culturally defined social
position that is a part of our social identity that defines our relationship to others. Statuses can be
ascribed, achieved or master. An ascribed status is fixed and involuntary, it is a status we are often
born into such as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If we choose to become a parents, husband and wife also become father and mother and the boy or girl
born is given the status of baby. As a mother and father, each has a responsibility to love, protect and
teach their baby about right and wrong, how to speak and use language, both verbal and non verbal to
communicate. Parents have an important role as a baby s first teacher, the foundation socialization. In
Belize, as a multi cultural nation, babies may be taught by parents to speak the language of their
culture for example Mennonites may speak German or Spanish, the Garinagu speak Garifuna and the
Hispanics speak Spanish. However, as an English speaking nation, mothers and fathers also teach their
baby to speak English so that they can interact with other people in society. Eventually as a baby
grows into a toddler, an understanding develops about the role of a mother and father and the toddler
learns that parents should be given respect which influences the interaction between parents and
children throughout their lifetime. In our society and societies around the world, children are taught
from an early age to not only to show respect for parents but to show respect for elders as well. If we
were to think back to our childhood, we would remember being afraid to answer our parent questions
or commands in an ill or threatening manner. A sure that we bid them time of day to our elders and
said please and thank you.

Some Notes on Branding
I. INTRODUCTION
Branding is a plan for earning product reputation and for making sure that the world knows about it
and believes in it too.
Branding is the process by which companies distinguish their product offerings from the competition.
Brands are created by creating a distinctive name, packaging and design. (Egan Thomas, 1998)
1st Brand name= Bass [beer], because British were the 1st with trademark registration.
Customers (particularly consumers) view a brand as an important part of a product and branding can
add value to a product. A brand can provide a guarantee of reliability and quality, in fact.
Ex. Chanel perfume bottle.

 A manufacturer has four sponsorship options. It can launch the product as a:
A. Manufacturer s brand: A brand is created and owned by the producer of a product or service.
B. Private brand: A brand created and owned by a reseller of a product or service. e.g. Tesco Value,
Tesco Finest
 Increasing trend amongst supermarkets, department and discount stores.
 Hard to establish, costly to stock and promote.
 However, they can find manufacturers with excess capacity that will produce the private label at
low cost; hence higher profit margins, retailers can decide to stock them more and decide which
shelves they go on.
 As store brands improve in quality and as consumers gain confidence in their store chains, store
brands will continue to pose a challenge to manufacturer s brands.
C. Licensing: A product or service using a brand name offered by the brand owner to the licensee for
an agreed fee or royalty.
e.g. a lunchbox manufacturer pays Sesame Workshop to put Sesame Street characters on their
lunchboxes.
 Corporate brand licensing: The fastest growing form of licensing. A firm rents a corporate
trademark or logo made famous in one product or service category and uses in a related category.
e.g. Porsche sunglasses and accessories.

Within social science, as well as pure research, there seems to be a continual and ongoing debate
about qualitative and quantitative research. Some take the view that, All research ultimately has a
qualitative grounding, while others believe There s no such thing as qualitative data. Everything is
either 1 or 0 (Howe, 1988). In actuality, the debate should not be so black and white; both styles of
research have their advantages and disadvantages. At times though, the way one constructs
hypothetical constraints may actually prejudice the intended results or at least provide a framework
from which to form bias. In the hard sciences, scholars tend to agree that randomized experimental
studies have much higher internal validity than nonrandomized studies. This is basic to the overall
scientific method of investigation.
The term scientific method refers to a way of investigation or the acquisition of knowledge through
the testing of a theory or hypothesis, then working through measurements (observation and empirical
notes) to come up with a result, which should prove or disprove the original theory. Thus, the basic
method consists of a) formulating a question or hypothesis, b) designing an experiment or means of
collecting data, c) observation or experimentation, d) analyzing

Greed In America
What, exactly, makes an American an American? This question has been asked and answered since
before this country was officially founded. Men and women of a multitude of races and culture have
written and spoke of it. Both ends of the spectrum have been addressed extensively. From admiring
ambition to condemning corruption, nothing has been left out. In America there are three things that,
to me, truly define us. A nationwide greed, awe inspiring in its magnitude, which gives the Capitalistic

(2) Describe the different employee selection methods and specify which work best for different jobs.
Employees form the basis of a successful organisation and the abilities and behavior of employees can
vary the performance of an organisation significantly. Due to the fact that respective jobs require
specific sets of skills or attributes, selections are essential in ensuring that the most suitable candidates
are hired. Selection refers to the process of assessing candidates by various means and making a
choice followed by an offer of employment (Graham, 1998, p.206). It is often thought of as an integral

From an economic perspective, the subsequent costs of occupational fraud include a reduction of stock
prices and loss of employment. These economic costs are exemplified by the 5% of revenue lost per
annum from every average Canadian organisation as a result of employment fraud (Koletar, 2003).
According to Herman, a positive correlation exists between the degree to which a candidate could be
in a position to cause harm to others, colleagues, or the organisation and that of a reference check
(Herman, 1993). For example, public servants and jobs that necessitate the handling of inordinate
amounts of money would warrant a background check, as the risk of financial losses or damage to
government organization reputations are higher.
Interviews remain a widely used selection technique in contemporary industries despite the relative
unreliability of this method. Dipboye reports that approximately 70% of organizations in the United
States utilize interviews as the main selection strategy in both promotion and recruitment ( Dipboye,
1992). A selection interview can be broadly delineated as a dialogue initiated by one or persons to
gather information and evaluate the qualifications of an applicant for employment (Dipboye, 1992).
The exclusion of other specific qualifications such as interpersonal skills, personal motivations and
career objectives is apparent in this definition,

Symbolism In Truman Capote s A Christmas Memory
Truman Capote is phenomenal with symbolism in his short story, A Christmas Memory . By using
Queenie as a way of symbolizing Sook, Truman really shows his creativity and mastery of writing. To
clarify, a dog has a lovable and childlike nature, so it makes perfect sense that Capote would use one
to depict Sook s lovable and childlike character. In this case, the rat terrier expresses the feelings Sook
has without Sook having to speak a word. For example, Capote wrote, Queenie is trotting beside it
now. (6) It , is referring to the buggy Truman and Sook just filled with fruitcake ingredients. As a
result, Capote displayed the use of Queenie as a way to symbolize Sook s happiness in that moment.
He s showing how excited Sook is about the fruitcakes, by having Queenie trot along happily next to
the buggy. Also, he goes on to describe that Queenie is an old and ratty looking terrier who, has
survived distemper and rattlesnake bites (6), which reflects on how Sook is older and not in the best
physical shape. Notably, it s incredible how Capote even symbolizes the appearance of Sook using

Queenie barks and Sook proceeds to call out to ask if anyone was home. In my opinion, this suggests
that Sook yelled fairly loud when she asked if anyone was home. Skipping ahead, Truman writes,

one can draw the conclusion that she is frightened, and Queenie bared the same emotions. They re one

Slavery also increased British exports. As a result of the increased productivity and profits made from
slavery, the average British consumer had more money to spend on goods that cost less. These forces
helped to revive a slowing British economy and increased capital flows throughout the British Empire.
Cheap labor resulted in cheaper goods, and the British consumer was rewarded. As British industries
gained more profits from slave institutions, they also expanded their markets. With the benefits
achieved from slavery, British industry sold more goods to more people in more locations. Sales of

Gun manufacturing was one of the first major industries to receive direct benefits from the slave trade.
Guns and slaves increased in direct proportion to each other. Guns, which were a relatively advanced

Whatley of Stanford suggests that it would only cost around 3.5 to 4.5 pounds sterling worth of

I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Meaning
There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. By Maya Angelou, I Know Why the
Caged Bird Sings. This is the quote my mom has been telling me every day since I was 13 and able to
understand it. Maya Angelou wrote this poem in 1969 and it still speaks to millions of people today.
Millions of people who have everything to say but never speak. This is just one example, my example
on how relatable poems are even if they are hundreds of years old. Being able to relate to a poem after
such a huge time gap in what makes a poem timeless and even the poet in specific cases. To be
timeless means to not be affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion. Timeless is beautiful
and rare in a world where everything is constantly revolutionizing.
Maya Angelou is timeless. I find her work to also be timeless even as she explains that the utmost pain
you can endure is the pain of bottling up emotions and experience s you would rather just bury then
verbalize in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. This simply speaks volume and can be applied in any
era of time. In the 1800 s in particular states men could legally beat their wife with anything item no

care because it was technically legal. Women of today s era would keep domestic violence situations
and their own emotions about that traumatic experience bottled up for several different reasons. The

San Juan Del Rio Catholic School
CSJDR s Community Resources San Juan del Rio Catholic School (SJDR) is a parish within the
Diocese of St. Augustine. It is located in Saint John s County and in a rather affluent section. There are
many strengths of San Juan del Rio Catholic School but there are some weaknesses that need to be
addressed. One of the main things we need at San Juan del Rio is more activities and sports teams.
Our students are very competitive and play numerous sports are a part of many clubs outside of
school. They are also very involved in many activities which require travel throughout the year.
Having more activities and sports teams throughout the school year would ensure a variety of students
enrolling in our school and would meet the needs of the students at SJDR. After school programs
develop critical traits that prepare our students or adulthood while keeping them safe and entertained.
At San Juan del Rio, there are not as many programs and sports teams because the school has reached
its capacity when it comes to rooms and fields for the students to play. Money to construct more
buildings and fields is part of the reason why the school does not have more programs than it does.
After school programs serve communities of children and youth all across the United States, and
SJDR needs to be involved in this process. This would also fix the fact that the school is mostly
Caucasian, as it would allow new opportunities for all types of students. After school programs can

Summary Of Giorgio Agamben s Homo Sacer
Giorgio Agamben s book Homo Sacer begins by addressing the topics of bare life and meaningful
socially contextualized life in relation to the philosophical terms of zoē and bios respectively.
Agamben toys with the idea that sovereignty naturally coincides with bios, whereas zoē is only
included in politics in the form of exception. (Agamben 10) This assertion runs parralel to the idea of
atavism, which is essentially the principle that humans can often revert to primal and ancestral
behaviors when left unchecked by society. This reversion is generally regarded as a violent and
undesirable; philsophers such as Hobbes would certainly feel that atavism is partially responsible for
the life of man being solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short, which is a core thematic component of
his work Leviathan. (Hobbes 78) Despite Agamben and Hobbes s shared notion that primitive
behaviors fall outside the natural sphere of politics and are relatively negative, there is a strong case to
be made for atavism s role in positive human sociopolitical structures. One such positive instance is
familial structures. Although the concept of sovereignty can be expressed through the father figure and
paternal subjugation, and the concept of bare life can be established philosphically by the figure of the
mother and an individual s birth, it it nontheless true that human beings seek out families and attempt
to live in concordance with their parents , siblings , and childrens needs and desires

Amontillado Literary Devices
The Cask of Amontillado follows a narrator through his plot to get revenge on a man who has once
insulted him. The man takes the idea of this revenge and lets it lead him into a string of actions that
end with him killing the man named Fortunato. This revengeful action is the main event found
throughout the story and it allows for the thought of revenge to drive this story and develop it. The
topic of revenge is widely found throughout the story The Cask of Amontillado and the literary
devices of irony, imagery, and the narrative point of view are used to develop this story s unsettling
tone and its meaning as a whole.
To begin with, the literary device of irony was used to develop this story and its meaning as a whole.
The story begins with the narrator developing his idea of revenge on the man named Fortunato and the
narrator states that At length I would be avenged; this was a point definitely settled but the very
definiteness with which it was resolved, precluded the risk of risk . At this point in the story the
audience is extremely aware that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the beginning, the story is described to take place ...about dusk, one evening during the supreme

almost makes the hair on the back of the readers neck stand up. As the story develops, the setting

What Is The Moral Of The Movie The New World
The New World written and directed by Terrence Malick took place in Virginia in 1607. In the
beginning of the movie, John Smith was imprisoned on Captain Newport s ship, deep inside the ship s
hull ( The New World ). When the ship reached the shore, John Smith was supposed to be hanged, but
his life was spared by none other than Captain Newport himself, after he gave the orders to hang him
in the first place. The captain, his crew and Smith landed in Virginia to found Jamestown as an
English colony in 1607. They came across friendly Native Americans shortly after their arrival, but it
soon turned hectic when one of the Native Americans unknowingly stole a tool from the colonists, and
then was shot and killed.

For example, when the colonists sailed from England and settled in Jamestown Virginia in 1607, it
was correct. However, in history Pocahontas did not really fall in love with John Smith like it is
foretold in this movie, she was actually trying to protect him from being killed by throwing herself on
top of him. The movie portrays Pocahontas as a 14 year old girl, when she was actually 10 years old at
the time in history ( Von Tunzelmann ). The writer and director, Terrence Malick, made up how both
the colonists and Native Americans felt when they first encountered each other, and many of the
heartfelt moments that some of the characters endured. There is no way of finding out how the first
encounter and everything else that fell into place really happened. Contemporary evidence hints that
Mrs. Rolfe says she was being dragged around by her husband sore against her will. When she met
John Smith at an inn in Brentford, she angrily upbraided him, saying your countriemen will lie much .

Reflective essays
The classic tragedy, as defined by Aristotle, has six major parts. These parts include a plot, characters,
theme, melody, spectacle, and language. All stories, according to Aristotle must have a beginning,
middle, and end, and must follow a logical sequence according to these six elements.
The plot is the series of events, or sequence in which the action of the play occurs. Plot must follow a
cause and effect relationship, which follows a logical pattern. Characters are the people in the play,
who have certain qualities that can be determined by what they say, do and what others say about
them. The theme of the play is the general feeling or statement made by the author that presents an

An enlightenment for the hero must follow at the end of the story to give us an idea that some greater
good was accomplished or that some important lesson was learned.
Oedipus demonstrates these four attributes of a tragic hero very clearly. He was a great person in that
he was a prince in both Corinth and Thebes, as well as the king of Thebes. He demonstrated high
moral standards through his selfless love of Thebes, and his relentless search for the truth, as well as
his sense of responsibility for his actions. Oedipus character flaw was said to be his hubris or
excessive pride, his not knowing when to quit and his thinking he could circumvent his fate. We also
discussed in class, that perhaps he should have been more careful about who he murdered, having a
fate as he did. His downfall was obviously having to live with the knowledge of what he did, being
banished and blinded by his own hand. In his own words, I am misery! Oedipus realizes at the end that
he is not as great as he once thought he was and that he cannot circumvent the will of the gods. The
theme of darkness and light is used throughout the play as a symbol or knowledge or enlightenment.
When Oedipus is blinded at the end he is then able to see the truth.

Do Girls Have Too Much Pressure On What Their Body Figure...
Do girls have too much pressure on what their body figure looks like? One s body is what makes us
who we are. Every single person is unique due to an individual physical trait. Even though everyone
has an opinion about what his or her perfect body would be, changing one s personal features would
take away from individuality. Not just your inner beauty, but your outer beauty makes you different
than anyone else. What is positive body image? Your face is the first thing that everyone notices. It
communicates to the world that you are together, knowledgeable, informed, and capable with your
title and position. Your face should be completely relaxed and in control. Body language is a kind of
non verbal communication, were thoughts, intensions, and feelings are expressed by physical
behaviors, such as facial expressions, body posture, gestures, eye movement, touch and the use of

Abby Borden were killed gruesomely, which was identified by a hatchet. There were only two people
in the house when the incident happened. Bridget Sullivan, the maid, and Lizzie Borden, the daughter.
The time, clues and Lizzie s alibi all tied up with her being the murderer of Andrew and Abby Borden.
Lizzie killed her parents because when Andrew Borden s death happened Lizzie said that she was in
the loft but there were no footprints found, also later on, after the murders Lizzie seemed to have done

Symptoms And Treatment Of Psoriasis
The term comorbidity refers to the association of two distinct diseases in the same individual at a rate
higher than expected by chance (Bonavita and De Simone, 2008).
Although psoriasis has been previously thought to be a disease solely affecting primarily the skin and
the joints, our understanding of the comorbidities that may be associated with this disease has grown
significantly. Recent evidence has even suggested an increased over all risk of mortality in patients
with severe psoriasis (Gelfand JM et al., 2007).
The presence of comorbidities in dermatology is of interest for various reasons. A skin disease can be
an early marker of systemic disease, and therefore, identify patients who are at risk of having other,

A study by Cohen et al. (2008), supported previous reports of an association between psoriasis and
diabetes mellitus. The age adjusted proportion of diabetes was found to be significantly higher in
psoriasis patients as compared to the control group. A possible explanation for the association between
psoriasis and diabetes is the presence of chronic inflammation that occurs due to secretion of TNF a
and other proinflammatory cytokines such as IL 1 and IL 6, which precipitate both psoriasis and
diabetes.
2) Non Alcoholic Fat Liver Disease (NAFLD)
Prevalence of NAFLD in patients with psoriasis ran¬ges from 17 60% and is even greater in patients
with severe psoriasis and PsA ( Miele et al., 2009) .Similarly, Gisondi et al. speculated that NAFLD
may contribute to the seve rity of psoriasis through the release of inflammatory mediators from the
liver, including reactive oxygen species, CRP and IL 6, which also act as mediators of atherogenesis
(Gisondi et al., 2009),Moreover, patients with psoriasis and NAFLD have higher risk of developing
non alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) and cirrhosis than patients with NAFLD without psoriasis
(Wenk et al., 2009). At least in part, progres¬sion of NAFLD to NASH is associated with an increa¬se
in the TNFa/adiponectin ratio. (Sanz Lp , 2007).

Common Law And Civil Law
There are two main categories of the legal systems which is common law and civil law. There are

contract law regulate several business transactions. The jurisdiction process of a common law system

Question 1a. Write a one page concise or two pages double spaced summary explaining the Federal
Reserve.
Basically, the Federal Reserve System is a banking system of the United States. It was created in
1913, with the enactment of the Federal reserve Act (2014). There are many responsibilities the
Federal Reserves has which include, supervision and regulation, monetary policy, payment services
and finally the financial stability. President Woodrow Wilson signed the Federal Reserve Act, into a
law. There are also many events that led up to the signing of the Federal Reserve Act that stuck out to
me.
The money and banking systems weren t the same in Colonial America. Colonial banks were not
allowed to accept deposits from the public or make loans. Instead, they issued paper currency backed
by metals and goals. Colonists were also limited to using bartering, European coinage as their primary
means of exchange. The legislation created a uniform national currency and permitted only nationally
chartered banks to issue bank notes (2014).
There was a period of a free banking era. There was a huge need for a reliable banking system during
the civil war. Many banks did not keep enough money on hand to meet the normal demands. People
lost their confidence in the banks and then began to go take their money out. This triggered a
succession of bank failures. The Federal Reserve System had a severe financial crisis, in

space program will have just finished a new rocket and space shuttle with better propulsion systems so
that the shuttle can move faster and use less energy. The astronauts on the mission are a small crew
each with a specialty that will help them on the mission. The mission is supposed to be exiting our

If we can make all these systems, the next question is how do we get them all on the space shuttle in
the most efficient manner. As I briefly talked about before, NASAs Food Systems Engineering
Facility has already made progress on developing the most effective packaging for food. Missions
started off having bite sized cubes of food, powders, and aluminum tubes of semi liquids. Now,
astronauts use trays that can be attached to them or walls and hold food packages. The food packages
themselves have been redesigned to be as compactible as possible with the new trash compactor on
board the missions. Rehydratable food packages are made from flexible material to let it compress,
with Velcro on the bottom to attach it to the trays. Beverages also have been changed. Many started off
being a square polyethylene package, but are now foil laminate. Each has a septum adapter for after
the powder has been added so that it connects to the galley water dispenser for more water. It also
comes with a straw for drinking. One system that is hard to make small is the waste collection system.
Not only do we need space for the bathroom, but also we need space for all the waste containers.
There is one area that solid waste gets processed and stored, and another area where liquid waste gets
processed. So there are at least two storage areas for waste, although from research we know there s

Promoting Equality. Equality is about making our society somewhere that everyone has the
opportunity and the chance to reach their maximum potential throughout their life. Part of equality is
knowing everyone has a different level of ability and understanding, for example for one person in
society being able to walk to a supermarket independently and buy themselves a packet of crisps then
walk home again could be a huge achievement for them, giving them a strong sense of self believe as
well as a boost in their self

an achievement. Giving people the opportunity to do things that are possible for them to do with their
level of ability and making them feel empowered by it is equality amongst our society. Another
example could be in a care home for the elderly, for one service user walking to the toilet and back
could a real achievement for the, making them feel independent and self
sufficient whereas a different
service user could have a real sense of achievement by simply standing up unaided for 10 seconds.
Recognising peoples different potentially is a key part in creating equality amongst service users.

hear what the math professor predicted for their teams (Casey). Then, he describes the background
behind the article that a math professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology uses mathematical
formulas before every season to estimate the records of the MLB teams. The professor, Bruce Bukiet,
uses models that he developed in the 1980s and these formulas usually rank in the top 15% of
preseason predictions when compared to sports writers (Casey). Last year, Casey explains that the
professor successfully projected four of the six division winners to make the playoffs. However, even
the mathematical models cannot foresee the randomness that is included in the game of baseball. The
author s purpose for writing about the professors preseason predictions is to share his interests in
statistics through his journalism. The author s tone in the article comes from the fact that it seems
Casey is fascinated with not only baseball but also with the professors

Diageo Executive Summary
Diageo s stock price increased $1.74 from $21.10 as of December 31, 2017 to $22.84 as of March 31,
2017. The increase can be primarily attributed to the company s reported growth in profit for the first
half of its 2017 fiscal year. Better than expected revenue growth, fueled by favorable exchange rates,
drove the increase in profitability. Surprisingly, the company reported that revenues increased in each
of its geographic markets. Such growth may mark the reversal of a period of relatively flat growth for
the company. Investors responded positively to the news, thus fueling the quarterly increase in price.
Nuernberger s stock price increased 10.39 from 56.61 as of December 31, 2016 to 67.00 as of March
31, 2017. The 18% increase in stock ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 5% increase can be primarily attributed to two factors: the company s strong financial
performance for Q4 2016 and speculation regarding the company s next moves as it remains on the
sidelines of the mergers and acquisitions wave that has been dominating industry news cycles. On
February 24, 2017, BASF reported its Q4 2016 and full year results. One highlight from the
announcement included a reported 7% increase in sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 as compared to
the fourth quarter of 2015. Additionally, the company reported an increase of 15% in EBIT as
compared to the fourth quarter 2015. As for the full year, the company reported that sales had
decreased by 18%. However, it is important to note that the company divested its gas trading and
storage business as part of an asset swap with Gazprom at the end of September 2015. The
aforementioned business unit had contributed 10.1 billion in sales in 2015. As such, the portfolio
effects noted above accounted for 15% of the decline in overall sales. Sales prices decreased, but the
company was able to consistently raise sales volumes over the course of the year. Dr. Kurt Bock,
Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, stated that the rise in sales volumes quarter to quarter
shows that the high investments we made in research and development and new production capacity in
recent years are paying off. Given the substantial increase in profitability and sales volume, the
Chairman expressed that the company was cautiously optimistic for 2017. Investors seemed to
respond positively to the company s performance. On Friday, February 24, 2017, the company s
closing stock price was 87.36. By March 3, 2017, one week later, the closing stock price had risen to
90.27. In regards to the aforementioned second factor contributing to the company s increase in stock
price, speculation regarding the company s next move

The Problem Of Self State
Conscious state according to dictionary.com is being aware of one s own existence these may involve
thoughts, sensations (images, aches, pain, visual, auditory and tactual sensation etc.). Smart refuses to
admit to the fact that sensations are irreducibly psychical because of Occam s razor (which suggests
that such matters should not even be put into consideration). He affirms there is no philosophical
argument that compels us to be dualist, he writes I am in pain is a genuine report, and that what it
reports is an irreducibly psychical something (Adler and Elgin 384). From this context he believes that
by claiming one is in pain one is reporting something, which is over and above, (something

we should also involve conscious state as well. He thinks of sensations as dispositions towards a
certain types of stimulus/temptation. He reduced behaviours to dispositions and he classified them as
being brain processes an example he gives an example of New Zealanders and the English who both
refer to Venus when one group refers to it as Morning Star and the other as Evening Star his aims is to
show that sensations may be similar but with different physical phenomenon. For example two people
may be identical in their appearances but might have different properties. The question might be
asked, that even if sensations are identical with brain processes, are there not introspected non
physical properties of sensations that are not identical with properties of brain processes? (Identity
theory) . To dispel this thought smart adopts topic neutral a narrower sense of being neutral to dualism
and physicalism (Identity theory). If sensations are caused by physical/material things for example
light the question based on this belief is whether sensations are material or immaterial from the given
example above (Identity theory). Putnam admits to a lot of claims made by Smart, they both share
similar views on identifying pain and other mental states with brain processes. Putman begins by
disagreeing with philosophers who maintain that pain states are brain states, and he calls this claim
unintelligible. He goes

Pierre Bourdieu Habitus Capital And Field
Pierre Bourdieu was an acclaimed French sociologist, anthropologist and philosopher, who is still
noted today as being one of the most prominent and influential intellects in recent years. He is famous
for his contributions to many subjects and areas, and much of his work is still considered today as
being classics. His work is considered to be some of the most innovative and groundbreaking bodies
of theory and research in contemporary social science. He is still prominent today for his many great
contributions to the field of sociology, and though he has many revolutionary concepts, this essay will
focus on three; Bourdieu s concepts of habitus, capital and field, and a key sociological factor these
concepts help to explain. These three ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Field
Field is a term that was coined by Bourdieu himself, and is one of his core concepts. Bourdieu
investigated the connection between people s practises and the context in which these practises occur.
This led him to his concept of field. Deborah Reed Danahay says of field (2005, p. 134) Bourdieu
viewed the field as a concept that was relational rather than substantialist by which he meant an
approach that seeks substances or essences in individuals or groups, and which foregrounds the
individual . A field is defined as a setting in which agents (a person engaging in a social structure) and
their social positions are located. A field is a structured social space that is independent and has its
own set of rules. Instead of viewing society in terms of economic classes and ideologies, Bourdieu
considers the role of educational and cultural factors also. Modern society has many fields; Bourdieu
sees everyday life as consisting of many different fields. Amongst these are politics, education and
law. It is the site of struggle for power between the dominant and subordinate classes. Bourdieu
described the field as a space in which a game took place, between people who are competing for the
same thing; the acquisition of capital. A person s position in a particular field is also dependent on
their own capital, and on their habitus. As stated by Michael Grenfell (2004, p. 172) All those active
within the field share a resonant habitus; in fact, the field chooses the

American Anti Slavery Society Essay
The Visionaries were fighting against slavery and for women s rights. The participants were the
American Anti Slavery Society. The two major participants were abolitionist William Garrison and his
opponents Lewis Tappan who had a dispute about the women s rights and slavery. This event took
place between the two national anti slavery societies in 1840 in London. To describe one of the many
reasons why the group split apart. The showdown came in 1840 at the national convention of the
American Anti slavery society, when delegates debated whether women could hold office in the
organization. Some of Garrison s opponents favored women s rights but opposed linking the question

Abolitionism movement split up after rushing strong support and violent opposition. Although it
survived, the party system was weakened by the reform movements. To describe why women became
more outspoken about the women s right in the 1830s and 40s and the split of the abolitionist group.
As it explains Women were pushed to the sidelines as dependents of men, without the power to bring
suit, make contracts, own property, or vote. During the era of the CULT OF DOMESTICITY, a
woman was seen merely as a way of enhancing the social status of her husband. this is why they found
it important to raise their voices for the women s rights movement. (Women s rights, USHistory.org,
Independence Hall Association, October 25 2017) In order to start fighting for women s rights
activists began to question women s service to men and called for rallying around the abolitionist
movement as a way of calling attention to all human rights. Around 1840 the abolitionist movement
was split over the acceptance of female speakers and officers. It was declared in the Seneca Falls
Declaration by Sarah Grimke in the 1837 that men and women were created equal ... whatever is right
for men to do is right for women. for The rights that women were fighting to come in

Rap Vs Rap
From the beating of the drums to the use of instruments, music has been around us and has changed
the way we, as humans, interact with one another. As music changes over time, it starts to differentiate
itself from other types and creates what we now call genres and a style that keeps pushing itself
further and further, is no other than Rap/Hip Hop.This genre was started back in the 1980s in New
York where it was an outlet for artists to tell their stories. As Rap music moves forward, subgenres rise
and start to create their own distinctive sounds, and this is where rap begins to split. A very popular
subgenre that has blown up over the course of a decade is called Trap. Recently Trap music has made
huge waves in the music industry, this style of music is everywhere! it is hard to escape, but recently
there has been a great deal of talk going around that Trap music is way better than rap but this is where
the disagreement comes into place. Once you compare all the facts and key points about what makes a
genre better than the other, Rap is miles ahead of Trap music in every way possible and any avid
music listener will and can tell you this. When listening to music, often times the listener would want
the song or album to relate in some way. Knowing that a specific artist has the same problem or is
going through the same predicament makes it more special and establishes a connection between the
listener and the artist, but when there is no message, it is just words

Plan? Not only look at it, but carefully consider how living spaces and rooms will be sited throughout
your future home. So the garage is at the end, a customer may say. That s all I need to know. No, it s
not. Some of the most common, frustrating design mistakes involve four crucial components of a new
home the garage, kitchen, bedrooms and laundry (or utility) room. Let s start with the garage, which
should adjoin the kitchen. Residents usually do what once they ve parked in their garage? They haul
items out of vehicles into the house. What if those items include 24 bags of groceries? Do you want to
lug them all across your entire 3,000 square foot home to the kitchen? Every week? For 52 weeks?
Every year? We thought not. The same is true with bedrooms and laundry (or utility) rooms. I like to
read in bed at night, this customer will say. I don t want to listen to the washer and dryer at the same
time. We ll bet this same customer won t be any happier hauling laundry hampers down two stair

Micro Hydro System For The De Pulper Essay
Micro Hydro System for the De Pulper Micro Hydro power systems can be applied to a wide range of
energy needs throughout the world wherever an ideal site is available. On a small organic farm in
Nicaragua, Finca Esperanza Verde (FEV), a direct drive micro hydro system is being used to power a
coffee de pulper (Raichle, Sinclair Ferrell, 2012). This paper will build upon existing data on the
system and will explore options for directing the water after it has gone through the system to
effectively suit the needs of the farm. The applications of the system could be prevalent throughout the
coffee growing regions of Latin America where there are water resources and small scale coffee farms.
Coffee is 8.1% or $438 Million of Nicaragua s exports, which makes it the second most exported
commodity in the county (Nicaragua, n.d.). The energy force that is driving the harvesting and
processing is predominantly manual labor (Raichle et al., 2012).
Coffee Harvesting and System Design
First a coffee cherry is picked from the plant, once a basket is full of the cherries it is brought to the de
pulper that is traditionally hand cranked. Meanwhile, water comes from the top of the farm in a pond
and flows down to the beneficio, where the de pulper is located, through the penstock that is a 2 pipe
to the pipe that splits off between the micro hydro system into a 1½ pipe and the bean washing tanks
(Sinclair, 2016). For the micro hydro system the water can flow through one or two

Essay about The Defender of the Faith
The Defender of the Faith
In Philip Roth s, Defender of the Faith , Sergeant Nathan Marx is the Defender of whom the title
speaks. Reluctant at first, Marx defended his faith on two fronts, one across the sea in Europe and the
second in the United States. The battle in the states was of a different type. Marx learned what it was
like to defend his and the faith of his fellow Jews against prejudice and abuse by those who waged the
war. Marx is not an orthodox Jew. He does not follow the doctrine as most of those in his religion
would and did not realize until asked by Grossbart that he was still religious. Though Grossbart
showed him he was not like others, Grossbart was not the central antagonism, The war was.

Marx was concerned that Grossbart was right and that those who wanted to attend the service should
have the chance to attend.
Marx confronted Captain Barrett on the matter, who only confirmed Grossbart s case by showing he
was prejudice. Captain Barrett told Marx he d fight side by side with a nigger if the fella proved to me
he was a man. (p.119) Marx was not pleased with the captain s outlook, and even less pleased when
the captain told him he should leave that stuff to the Chaplain. (p.119) Marx took it upon himself that
the soldiers who wanted to attend church should be allowed and ordered his C.Q. to announce Jewish
personnel who want to attend services this evening are to fall out in front of the orderly room, (p.120)
and then added By order of Captain Barrett. Marx had won that battle.
Marx, after a few exploits of Grossbart, such as getting a weekend pass to attend a religious dinner a
month late and then not attending that dinner, understood that he was being played the fool. Grossbart
did not want special privileges for his fellow Jewish soldiers, yet only wanted a free ride in the army.
This came to Marx when Grossbart asked if Marx could do something about Grossbart s being
shipped off to war in the pacific. Grossbart was

Lincoln recognized that he would need assistance from the French navy and army to retake Savannah. On September 3, he learned that the French forces under the command of Admiral Comte d Estaing were en route to Savannah, bringing with them ships of the line and 4,000 soldiers. On September 11, Lincoln marched out of Charleston with 2,000 Continentals to link up with d Estaing. Arriving first, d Estaing began offensive operations to take the city. He initially offered Prevost an opportunity to surrender, but Prevost demurred, hoping that reinforcements would arrive. He was given twenty four hours. This reprieve would prove in the end to be pivotal, as 1,000 men arrived to support Prevost s force just as Lincoln arrived to support d Estaing. The Allied forces, when fully assembled, numbered near 7,000. Defending Savannah was a force totaling 2,500 men. Faced with overwhelming odds, Prevost organized a solid defensive plan. ... The French commander believed that a frontal assault against the British position would be futile and instead proposed to bombard the city. Lincoln concurred, French cannons were removed from their ships, and a five day cannonade began. However, Savannah bore the brunt of the artillery assault while the defensive positions remained relatively untouched, so d Estaing eventually agreed to the frontal assault in spite of objections by his officers. Paul decided to find out what they had to say. He found Swann in a hospital. Swann said that there were a few facts about the case which seemed strange to him. For example, the wounds to Mona were so terrible that only a powerful man could have done that, and Rees was not very strong. Again, Edward and Louisa at first gave the wrong description of Rees, and later they changed their evidence. Swann also said that Collins went to New Zealand, but Burt was still in the city and worked for a rich family called Oswalds. So Paul made up his mind to become her friend in hope she would give him some useful information. By the way, Paul went to George Birley, the Member of Parliament for Wortley. He believed that Birley would help him. He tried to do so, but the Secretary of State refused to re open the case. After seeing Louisa for a couple of times she told him a few interesting things. For example, the fact that the murderer rode off on a green bike was true. She knew that the murderer was a man who was a member of the Grasshoppers cycling club. Some take the view that, All research ultimately has a qualitative grounding, while others believe There s no such thing as qualitative data. Everything is either 1 or 0 (Howe, 1988). In actuality, the debate should not be so black and white; both styles of research have their advantages and disadvantages. As a result of the increased productivity and profits made from slavery, the average British consumer had more money to spend on goods that cost less. These forces helped to revive a slowing British economy and increased capital flows throughout the British Empire. Cheap labor resulted in cheaper goods, and the British consumer was rewarded. As British industries gained more profits from slave institutions, they also expanded their markets. With the benefits achieved from slavery, British industry sold more goods to more people in more locations. Sales of commodities also became more common, enabling further economic development. Almost every major British industry benefitted from the increased productivity created by slavery. Gun manufacturing was one of the first major industries to receive direct benefits from the slave trade. Guns and slaves increased in direct proportion to each other. Guns, which were a relatively advanced technology in the late 1700s, were given to African slave traders for African slaves, since African slave owners desired guns and gunpowder to protect their kingdoms from other rival tribes. Guns were highly sought after by African slave traders and could be traded for more slaves than any other good. Whatley of Stanford suggests that it would only cost around 3.5 to 4.5 pounds sterling worth of gunpowder to purchase a slave, but would cost nearly 40 pounds sterling to buy a slave using any other good. That huge difference between gunpowder and the alternative trade item shows how much more value slave traders placed on guns and gunpowder than other goods. • 18. I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings Meaning There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you. By Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. This is the quote my mom has been telling me every day since I was 13 and able to understand it. Maya Angelou wrote this poem in 1969 and it still speaks to millions of people today. Millions of people who have everything to say but never speak. This is just one example, my example on how relatable poems are even if they are hundreds of years old. Being able to relate to a poem after such a huge time gap in what makes a poem timeless and even the poet in specific cases. To be timeless means to not be affected by the passage of time or changes in fashion. Timeless is beautiful and rare in a world where everything is constantly revolutionizing. Maya Angelou is timeless. I find her work to also be timeless even as she explains that the utmost pain you can endure is the pain of bottling up emotions and experience s you would rather just bury then verbalize in I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. This simply speaks volume and can be applied in any era of time. In the 1800 s in particular states men could legally beat their wife with anything item no wider then a thumb and I m sure women kept quiet about it because they would believe no one would care because it was technically legal. Women of today s era would keep domestic violence situations and their own emotions about that traumatic experience bottled up for several different reasons. The woman or man could ... • 22. Summary Of Giorgio Agamben s Homo Sacer Giorgio Agamben s book Homo Sacer begins by addressing the topics of bare life and meaningful socially contextualized life in relation to the philosophical terms of zoē and bios respectively. Agamben toys with the idea that sovereignty naturally coincides with bios, whereas zoē is only included in politics in the form of exception. (Agamben 10) This assertion runs parralel to the idea of atavism, which is essentially the principle that humans can often revert to primal and ancestral behaviors when left unchecked by society. This reversion is generally regarded as a violent and undesirable; philsophers such as Hobbes would certainly feel that atavism is partially responsible for the life of man being solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short, which is a core thematic component of his work Leviathan. (Hobbes 78) Despite Agamben and Hobbes s shared notion that primitive behaviors fall outside the natural sphere of politics and are relatively negative, there is a strong case to be made for atavism s role in positive human sociopolitical structures. One such positive instance is familial structures. Although the concept of sovereignty can be expressed through the father figure and paternal subjugation, and the concept of bare life can be established philosphically by the figure of the mother and an individual s birth, it it nontheless true that human beings seek out families and attempt to live in concordance with their parents , siblings , and childrens needs and desires ... Oedipus demonstrates these four attributes of a tragic hero very clearly. He was a great person in that he was a prince in both Corinth and Thebes, as well as the king of Thebes. He demonstrated high moral standards through his selfless love of Thebes, and his relentless search for the truth, as well as his sense of responsibility for his actions. Oedipus character flaw was said to be his hubris or excessive pride, his not knowing when to quit and his thinking he could circumvent his fate. We also discussed in class, that perhaps he should have been more careful about who he murdered, having a fate as he did. His downfall was obviously having to live with the knowledge of what he did, being banished and blinded by his own hand. In his own words, I am misery! Write a one page concise or two pages double spaced summary explaining the Federal Reserve. Basically, the Federal Reserve System is a banking system of the United States. It was created in 1913, with the enactment of the Federal reserve Act (2014). There are many responsibilities the Federal Reserves has which include, supervision and regulation, monetary policy, payment services and finally the financial stability. Instead, they issued paper currency backed by metals and goals. Colonists were also limited to using bartering, European coinage as their primary means of exchange. The legislation created a uniform national currency and permitted only nationally chartered banks to issue bank notes (2014). There was a period of a free banking era. There was a huge need for a reliable banking system during the civil war. Many banks did not keep enough money on hand to meet the normal demands. Notwithstanding the fact that even though it is the forerunner in this industry, Canada has not taken the lead on mediating or taking responsibility for the behavior of their corporations abroad. The consequence of this carelessness is, Canada has drawn criticisms from around the world, first from the environmental, religious and human rights organizations, and now increasingly from international institutions, such as the United Nations. 1. Genre Analysis Of Baseball The game of baseball has been around for approximately 150 years and throughout its history there have been different genres used to discuss or write about the sport. The two genres are a blog post and a news article about win loss projections for teams. The two different genres will also differ in the style and context because they have different reasons and goals for their writings. The increase can be primarily attributed to the company s reported growth in profit for the first half of its 2017 fiscal year. Better than expected revenue growth, fueled by favorable exchange rates, drove the increase in profitability. Surprisingly, the company reported that revenues increased in each of its geographic markets. Such growth may mark the reversal of a period of relatively flat growth for the company. Investors responded positively to the news, thus fueling the quarterly increase in price. Nuernberger s stock price increased 10.39 from 56.61 as of December 31, 2016 to 67.00 as of March 31, 2017. The 5% increase can be primarily attributed to two factors: the company s strong financial performance for Q4 2016 and speculation regarding the company s next moves as it remains on the sidelines of the mergers and acquisitions wave that has been dominating industry news cycles. On February 24, 2017, BASF reported its Q4 2016 and full year results. One highlight from the announcement included a reported 7% increase in sales for the fourth quarter of 2016 as compared to the fourth quarter of 2015. Additionally, the company reported an increase of 15% in EBIT as compared to the fourth quarter 2015. As for the full year, the company reported that sales had decreased by 18%. However, it is important to note that the company divested its gas trading and storage business as part of an asset swap with Gazprom at the end of September 2015. The aforementioned business unit had contributed 10.1 billion in sales in 2015. As such, the portfolio effects noted above accounted for 15% of the decline in overall sales. Sales prices decreased, but the company was able to consistently raise sales volumes over the course of the year. Dr. Kurt Bock, Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors, stated that the rise in sales volumes quarter to quarter shows that the high investments we made in research and development and new production capacity in recent years are paying off. Given the substantial increase in profitability and sales volume, the Chairman expressed that the company was cautiously optimistic for 2017. Investors seemed to respond positively to the company s performance. On Friday, February 24, 2017, the company s closing stock price was 87.36. By March 3, 2017, one week later, the closing stock price had risen to 90.27. Smart refuses to admit to the fact that sensations are irreducibly psychical because of Occam s razor (which suggests that such matters should not even be put into consideration). He affirms there is no philosophical argument that compels us to be dualist, he writes I am in pain is a genuine report, and that what it reports is an irreducibly psychical something (Adler and Elgin 384). Bourdieu investigated the connection between people s practises and the context in which these practises occur. This led him to his concept of field. Deborah Reed Danahay says of field (2005, p. 134) Bourdieu viewed the field as a concept that was relational rather than substantialist by which he meant an approach that seeks substances or essences in individuals or groups, and which foregrounds the individual . A field is defined as a setting in which agents (a person engaging in a social structure) and their social positions are located. A field is a structured social space that is independent and has its own set of rules. Instead of viewing society in terms of economic classes and ideologies, Bourdieu considers the role of educational and cultural factors also. Modern society has many fields; Bourdieu sees everyday life as consisting of many different fields. Amongst these are politics, education and law. It is the site of struggle for power between the dominant and subordinate classes. Bourdieu described the field as a space in which a game took place, between people who are competing for the same thing; the acquisition of capital. A person s position in a particular field is also dependent on their own capital, and on their habitus. As stated by Michael Grenfell (2004, p. 172) All those active within the field share a resonant habitus; in fact, the field chooses the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As Rap music moves forward, subgenres rise and start to create their own distinctive sounds, and this is where rap begins to split. A very popular subgenre that has blown up over the course of a decade is called Trap. Recently Trap music has made huge waves in the music industry, this style of music is everywhere! it is hard to escape, but recently there has been a great deal of talk going around that Trap music is way better than rap but this is where the disagreement comes into place. Once you compare all the facts and key points about what makes a genre better than the other, Rap is miles ahead of Trap music in every way possible and any avid music listener will and can tell you this. When listening to music, often times the listener would want the song or album to relate in some way. Micro Hydro System For The De Pulper Essay Micro Hydro System for the De Pulper Micro Hydro power systems can be applied to a wide range of energy needs throughout the world wherever an ideal site is available. On a small organic farm in Nicaragua, Finca Esperanza Verde (FEV), a direct drive micro hydro system is being used to power a coffee de pulper (Raichle, Sinclair Ferrell, 2012). This paper will build upon existing data on the system and will explore options for directing the water after it has gone through the system to effectively suit the needs of the farm. The applications of the system could be prevalent throughout the coffee growing regions of Latin America where there are water resources and small scale coffee farms. Coffee is 8.1% or $438 Million of Nicaragua s exports, which makes it the second most exported commodity in the county (Nicaragua, n.d.). The energy force that is driving the harvesting and processing is predominantly manual labor (Raichle et al., 2012). Coffee Harvesting and System Design First a coffee cherry is picked from the plant, once a basket is full of the cherries it is brought to the de pulper that is traditionally hand cranked. Meanwhile, water comes from the top of the farm in a pond and flows down to the beneficio, where the de pulper is located, through the penstock that is a 2 pipe to the pipe that splits off between the micro hydro system into a 1½ pipe and the bean washing tanks (Sinclair, 2016).
