Ununhexium Research Paper

Chemistry 10C

The Newest Elements There have been many elements that have been discovered in this world. The
two latest elements that have been discovered are ununquadium and ununhexium. Ununquadium is
element number 114 on the periodic table. It was given the official name of flerovium by the IUPAC
in 2012. Ununhexium is element 116 on the periodic table. It was given the official name of
livermorium by the IUPAC in 2012. There are two other elements that have been discovered, but not
yet confirmed. Those elements are ununtrium and ununpentium. Ununtrium is element 113 on the
periodic table and it has no official name yet. Ununpentium is element 115 on the periodic table and
also has no official name yet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The creation of the element was the work of the two science teams at the Joint Institute for Nuclear
Research in Dubna and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. The creation of
the element was made possible through the fusion of elements 20 and 96. To be precise, calcium 48
was fused with curium 248. When calcium atoms were fired at the curium target, the atom
livermorium 292 was formed. It lasted for about 50 ms before it underwent alpha decay. In a year s
worth of experimentation, two atoms of livermorium 292 had been created. One lasted for around 125
ms and the other lasted for around 55 ms. By the end of the experiment, 23,000,000,000,000,000,000
atoms of calcium had been fired at the curium target and over 30 atoms of livermorium had been
created by 2005. The director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna wanted to name the
element after Muscovy, in honor of the Moscow region. But, the IUPAC decided to name the element
livermorium after the hard work that the scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory put
into making the elements. The IUPAC accepted the existence of livermorium along with the existence
of flerovium. The IUPAC needed more time to accept the existence of the element

Bad Leadership In Antigone
There is no happiness where there is no wisdom; ...proud men in old age learn to be wise. Choragos
narrated at the end of the play Antigone (41). Short plays such as Antigone are exemplary literatures
that contain a vast amount of ethical issues, therefore enforcing critical thinking. Antigone, a tragic
drama play, was created by Sophocles before 441 BC. The well written play dictates the story of a
young woman who is charged for burying her brother as a representation of honor and the thoughts of
a stubborn king. Creon is a self centered character that is after Antigone and does everything in his
power to murder her. Finally, the play illustrates that bad leadership that involves and leads to vanity,
murder, and oppression.
Creon is the powerful king who rules the state after the death of Oedipus, with his ruling power he
clearly shows throughout the play a sense of vanity. Creon had a very firm and cold attitude towards
people, but his purpose as king was to provide political and social order. During the play Antigone, ...

It turns the situation to a worst degree, because it seemed that murdering Antigone was no longer a
punishment of what she had done. Instead it was a penalty to Haimon for trying to help Creon make a
more rational decision. As mentioned previously, assassinating people to show how powerful or
rightful a person is, shows a lack of humanism. Furthermore, Antigone mentioned a strong point
yelling, Ah the good fortune of kings, licensed to say and do whatever they please! to which Creon
replies, You are alone here in that opinion. Antigone later in that altercation explains No, they are with
me. But they keep their tongues in leash (16). This proves that many did not have the courage to speak
up as she did, this coercion caused Creon to do whatever he pleased, as a result creating a fascist

A Writers Style
A Writers Style The Pulitzer Prize winning writer N. Scott Momaday has become known as a very
distinctive writer who depicts the stories of the Native American life in almost poetic ways. He does
an excellent job of transporting the reader from the black and white pages of a book, to a world where
every detail is pointed out and every emotion felt when reading one of Momaday s books or other
writings. This style of writing that Momaday uses is very evident in his work The Way to Rainy
Mountain, and made even more apparent by reading a review of the book House Made of Dawn found
on a web site run by HarperCollins Publishers. Throughout the essay The Way to Rainy Mountain ,
Momaday uses very descriptive words, which brings the places ... Show more content on

This might have been avoided if Momaday had made it clearer that the focus of the story was on the
Kiowa people and not his journey back to see his grandmother s grave. Once I understood this aspect
though, I was able to completely appreciate the story and imagery for what it was. This was a slight
downside of Momaday s writing, however he was able to pull it all together and make it less of a
distraction in the end. Another characteristic of Momaday s writings is how they involve change. For
example, in his essay of The Way to Rainy Mountain, the whole story is based around him returning
home to see his grandmothers grave. However, the point of the story is to tell the history of his people,
the Kiowa people, and how they came to settle on the land known as Rainy Mountain. As he tells this
story, Momaday also shows how the present times have changed from what he remembers of the past.
How his grandmother s house would be alive when so many of his people would be gathered there and
now it lies so empty and quiet as the times have changed. Momaday s book House Made of Dawn also
talks about change in the world for the Native Americans. The main character of the story, Abel, faces
the difficult challenge of deciding whether to leave his family and history behind. So that he might
find his place in the modernized post World War II country. He decides to face the new

The Importance Of Federalism In The United States Government
When the founding fathers came together, they realized that they had important things to discuss.
Truthfully because The Articles of Confederation had not been efficient enough for the national
government. The Articles of Confederation left the national government without a judiciary and
independent executive, leaving Congress with most of the power; but it was largely a creature of the
states. This sparked conflicted amongst state which eventually lead to the government s debt. Once
The Founding Fathers realized the poor ethics that the Articles of Confederation had, the first topic
they felt the need to discuss had been federalism. As read in We the People textbook, federalism
means the Constitution s division of governing authority between two levels, nation and states was the
result of political bargaining. As I reflect back on previous lessons/discussions, I find it that
Federalism is an ideology that s written in the constitution to divide power between federal and state
government; even though the term is not bluntly stated. Honorably, the simulation mirrored what took
place in 1787, by having four interest groups and Senators from eight delegations representing their
states interest. The Senators main objective had been to reform the Proposed Legislation for Federal
Anti Smoking Standards bill that could potentially benefit both their locals and local government. For

Architecture Manifesto Example
Course: ARC 103 Title: Architecture and Sensitivity: A Manifesto for Sustainable Design This
manifesto proposes an approach to sustainable design that I am interested in exploring during my time
studying architecture. The idea of sustainability is a complex one, not without apparent contradictions.
This makes it difficult to define in a wholly satisfactory manner. For the purposes of this manifesto I
will advert to the definition proposed by Jason McLennan who asserts that sustainable design: seeks to
maximize the quality of the built environment, while minimizing or eliminating negative impact to the
natural environment. I find this definition particularly useful in the emphasis which it places on
quality. By quality, in this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arising out of his respect for the site, the scale of Aalto s office building derives both its horizontal
and vertical character from the nearby historical buildings, hence its symmetrical, formal façade. A
more recent example of contextually sensitive design is afforded by Grafton Architect s proposal for
the new Faculty of Economics for the University of Toulouse, still under construction. While
envisaging their project, the architects walked from one side of the city to the other, gauging the
character of the brick facades, the polygonal towers, the transitions from streets to courts and the
underlying spatial patterns. The resulting design offers a sensitive response to the layered history and
unique geography of the site. As founding partner Shelley McNamara has put it, the building weaves
into the mesh of the city. 4. Connected to Nature Study nature, love nature, stay close to nature. It will

Destruction In Ernest Hemingway s The Old Man And The Sea
Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated, Ernest Hemingway. In the novel
The Old Man and the Sea written by the spokesman of this quote, it is truly demonstrated that a man
can be destroyed but not defeated through the main character, Santiago. He is an older man who loves
to fish and devotes most of his time to fishing. Unfortunately, he had not brought back a fish in over
eighty days. This occurrence lead to his pupil Manolin s parents not allowing their son to fish with
Santiago and also some other fishermen who thought he was a joke. Like Manolin s parents and also
the other fisherman, many disbelievers think that the old man is unlucky, therefore it is not his fate to
catch a worthy fish. They believe that it takes luck and fate to catch a fish. On the contrary, both
Santiago and Manolin disagree as they believe that pride and ambition will help Santiago finally catch
his dream fish. The theme of pride of ambition beating out their counterparts fate and luck is
thoroughly expressed in all facets of this novel. Three main occurrences where the theme is present is
when he still goes out even with his bad luck , when he continues to hang on to the fish he has hooked,
and finally when he returns home and his pride and ambition is recognized by others. The first
example of the theme being present in the book is when Santiago decides to still go out and fish. As
the first sentence of the book states, He was an old man who fished alone in a

Customer Retention
Customer retention is as important as customer acquisition because the cost associated with customer

ROMANS AND THE CHRISTIAN WORLDVIEW
ESSAY
Paul s argument in Romans is foundational to the Biblical/Christian Worldview. Paul brings to
realization of what God is revealing to the Christian World. Most Christians do not understand the
consequences of not obeying the moral laws and its values. Christians are influenced by other
religions because of the lack of understanding the expectations and the fact of being accountable for
their actions. Paul is presenting specific directions as how to live a godly life and to show
consideration to others. This is imperative for Christians in today s society as well as it was to the

Romans 5:12 21, reveals before there was a law, sin was in the world. Adams fall brought sin into this
world, and sin brought death. Everyone has sinned because of the event that took place in the garden.
Death was spread to man because of Adams disobedience. Jesus went to the cross to redeem man from

problem today is most people do not believe. Whether a person has the physical bible today they still

The Effect Of Erich Remarque s All Quiet On The Western Front

the world from July 28, 1914, to November 11, 1918, as several combatants took place in the war.
Erich Remarque s novel takes place during World War I as it tells a story about young German soldiers
fighting on the front line. Throughout the novel, Paul Bäumer, the main protagonist, faces many
horrors such as the loss of his comrades, the brutality of combat, and the horrid nature of the front

wounded, and survivors slowly sink into (Remarque 286). These settings have made this part of the
war a true monstrosity for the soldiers. They cannot keep on fighting as this darkness rules over any
hope of fighting back. The horrors of war are never experienced by most human beings but will be by
soldiers who are usually not prepared for them. Losing fellow comrades, experiencing the brutality of
combat, and the horrific nature of war are true horrors which most soldiers will

Economic Sustainability And Economic Development
Sustainable.
Often heard used as a marketing buzzword to boost sales or win votes, it is firmly ingrained in the
contemporary public psyche. A term first largely introduced by the 1987 Brundtland Report (by The
World Commission on Environment and Development) who defined and politicized the term
sustainable development , sustainability has since taken on numerous connotations.
Ecological sustainability refers to the robustness of our ecosystems and the ability to maintain or
enhance our planet s unique biodiversity.
Economic sustainability is defined by Cato as continued economic development while not degrading
our planet s ecology (Cato, 2011), however not all definitions accord such a large role to the
ecological state of our planet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where environmental problems are concerned, the neoclassical approach does not account for the
market failure that occurs when all individuals are making decisions to achieve their personal greatest
happiness . While theoretically this leads to a balanced optimum market; exclusivity, non
excludability, externalities, imperfect information, inappropriate government regulations and prisoners
dilemma all prevent the macro economic market from reaching a true pareto optimum (Goodland et.
al, 1987) as predicted by the paradigm.
In environmental terms, market failure results in an array of impacts of varying significance that are
often amplified by the globalized macro economy and our planet s vast social inequity.
For example, an externality such as air pollution may not directly affect the consumer, but can have
adverse impacts on the local environment where the product was produced. This impact is often not
reflected in the market value of the product, altering marginal cost curve and undermining the
possibility of reaching an optimal market. In addition, the impacts of market failure often
disproportionately affect the poorest communities and amplify social inequity.
The neoclassical paradigm is thus fundamentally

Lights, camera, and action!! A popular phrase noted throughout the film and cinematic industry, but to
directors, actors, and viewers of African American or Black Cinema this famous phrase helped
jumpstart a movement throughout the black culture. Starting with radical movies that explained racial
undertones and barriers in the United States for freedom and equality, The Dutchman and Superfly

they also helped voice the concerns and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this notion provided by Hall the underlying victory in Superfly not only for the black culture, but
society as a whole, as we remember the popularity not only by black culture, but by white and Latino
as well. As Priest rises over adversity, and takes his success, not only does he maintain a financial
edge, but one that kicks butt towards the end of the movie. Yet, it is this same notion that is the
downfall for Clay in The Dutchman . As a woman of thirty, with no sexual virtue who is mentally ill,
Lula in the story is the picture of what white society has deemed invaluable and powerless. However,
when opposed to Clay, a young man with and education, the traditional would be image of success and
normalcy, ironically Lula becomes all powerful (authoritative), because of her race ( The Dutchman
oppression, 2009). It is Lula s absolute command of the other passengers that shows Baracka s stance
that race is the ultimate determining factor in society.
From silence to sound, both of these films needless to say were indeed a necessary and engraved
component in the black movement for equality. Ingred Bergman once said, no form of art goes beyond
ordinary consciousness as film does, straight to our emotions, deep into the twilight of

WORKING FROM HOME IT S IN THE DETAILS
(An article review)
1. Identify and discuss the main problems or concerns mentioned in this case study regarding
telecommuting. In your opinion, do most of these problems originate with the company or the
employee?
I noticed lots of problems in this article regarding telecommuting. One of these problems is
Communication breakdown. Employees under this kind of job begin to feel isolated although it is part
of the job, because they are lack of interaction between their managers and colleagues. Even if there
were many ways to communicate with them like internet, phones, instant messaging or social medias

Since the employees know the advantages and disadvantages of telecommuting job during the pre
employment period. I think these problems originate most from the employees. Because since they
know the possible things might happened in the future, they must prepared and and be more conscious
towards their job. They must consider the fact that they were properly compensated so, they must do
their job in accordance with the duties and responsibilities that the company assigned to them. And
have faith and trust to the company that they are always part of the possible success of the company.
2. Describe the characteristic of people who adjust more easily to telecommuting. How can companies
identify these employees or develop others to be better prepared for telecommuting?
The article doesn t discuss much about the characteristics of people. However, it explains that
telecommuting is not appropriate for new hire employees, beacause as stated it requires face to face
mentoring and working in the office for a period of time before going virtual.
The company may develop a better telecommuters by providing them the total Company allignment

American School System
The American school system is absolutely broken. A product of terrible teachers and administrators,
horrible districts, and our country s inability to fix the inherent flaws of the system. We sit back as the
youth of our proud nation spend their days in the factory we call school. Factory because schools are
not designed to teach our children. These factories throw knowledge at the kids left and right. There
are so many bits and pieces of information being hurled around at once. With the vast expanse of
knowledge entering the minds of young people during the day, one would assume the child would rise
to become educated. But the problem is, schooling by itself creates no intelligent people. Schools are

But something we do not think about is merely pure luck. We look at smart and successful individuals
and attribute their success to themselves. It is the fantasy like concept of the American self made man.
This dreamlike concept is completely shattered by the idea that successful individual are, above all
else, lucky. If we look at Nobel prize winners and their backgrounds, we see that many of them are
from areas with good schools. These communities with lots of support, minimal drug use, and
basically zero murders, nurture great minds. That is the luck of the intellectual at play. Take into
account this hypothetical example. Two boys are born in the same time periods with the same drive to
succeed. Both boys go about schooling with the same initial enthusiasm. The difference between them
is that one lives in a clean district with a great school. This child never stops performing. Partially
because of great teachers, and partially because of the support from home. This child is not influenced
by all of the harmful things of inner city environments. But the other boy is. The other boy was
unlucky enough to be born into a family who does not love him. This boy lives in poverty, has seen his
mother doing bad things, and the schools barely teach him a single thing. Frustrated with school the

Mummification And Death Rituals Of Ancient Egypt
In ancient Egypt, scarabs (a sacred large dung beetle from the Mediterranean area) first appeared in
the late Old Kingdom (c. 2575 c. 2130 BCE) and were used for the living, as a sign of good luck.
Then when they evolved from the so called button seals scarabs, they remained rare until Middle
Kingdom times (1938 c. 1630 BCE). This was because they were now being associated with the
afterlife and death. Some were used simply as ornaments and decoration, while others were purely
sacred in purpose, such as the large basalt heart scarabs of the New Kingdom (1539 1075 BCE). Later
they were also placed in the bandages of mummies and were symbolically identified with the heart of
the deceased. (Lace, William. Mummification and Death Rituals of Ancient

Joseph Smith And Ethical Relativism
Ethical Relativism takes the position that morality is relative to time periods, cultures, subcultures
within cultures and time periods (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks Meyers, 1987). Joseph Smith was the
founder of Mormonism also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, sometime in
1830 in upstate New York. After God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him Joseph Smith told
his mother that he had learned for himself that Presbyterianism was not true (Turner, 2016). The early
members were driven from Ohio, Missouri, and then Illinois on into Utah. Once in Utah, Mormons
spread throughout much of the world (Murphy, 1999). In 1996 there were more than nine million
Mormons worldwide with most of them living outside the United States (Murphy, 1999). When
Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon he gave the readers new scripture that would explain racial
inequality while he attempted to clear the old paradox between a God who was supposed to be
impartial and the imbalanced relations between European immigrants and the American Indians
(Murphy, 1999). Smith claimed that he translated the Book of Mormon from an ancient Hebrew
record that was engraved in Egyptian characters that he found buried in a hillside in upstate New York
(Murphy, 1999). In the book Smith explains the right of the white people to rule over the dark skinned
people. Smith associated having dark skin with a curse from God, a person who rejected the truth,
filthiness, laziness, illiteracy, and degradation (Murphy, 1999). He wrote about a positive reward to
converts among the American Indians that would include a chosen status as a covenant Israelite from
the Old Testament and promises a glorious future of white skin and the role of leadership in the true
church in the last days (Murphy, 1999). During this time in American history Indians were thought of
as savage dark skinned people who were unequal to the white skinned settlers. Ethical relativism
allows us to see that in this time and in this culture, it was acceptable for the white settlers to have
feelings of superiority over the Indians. We can also understand that the Mormons ethical ideas of
wanting to convert the Indians would allow the Indians to have a positive reward

War Poems Their Ideas The poems, The Charge of The Light Brigade and Dulce et Decorum Est, both

articulate those ideas on paper varies. Through literary devices in the poems, the authors show two
different wars, but the same tragic outcome death. These two poems showcase how people can have

The tone that Alfred Lord Tennyson created for this poem has an honorable and celebratory feel to it
for those whom were lost. The overall tone of the poem capitalizes on the his idea of war and how we
should be acting towards those who have given up themselves to hopefully makes their country better.
Wilfred Owen s Dulce et Decorum Est also created a specific tone in his poem as well. His poem takes
on a completely different tone though. In his version of a war piece, Owen is showing us how war is
bad and how much he feels that it is wrong, and how we won t like the conclusion that results from
them. This war poem, about the First World War, has a more negative look on the actions of war. An
example of this tone can be seen in the first stanza. According to the Bloom s Literary Reference
Online, The first stanza presents a scene saturated with misery. (Dulce et Decorum Est) Throughout
the entire piece Owen gives us the tone of misery, awful challenges, and death all negative feelings.
We can see in the last couple of lines of the poem how Owen really felt about war, The old Lie, Dulce
et Decorum est / Pro patria mori. (27 28) This roughly translates to it is sweet and right to die for your
country. It is a wonderful thing that one could die for their country, the soldiers should be filled with
honor to do so. But Wilfred Owen tells us

Descriptive Essay On The San Juan Mountains
Every place has a taste. My highschool tastes bland, and a little bit like a cracker beginning to go stale.
My home tastes like sunlight on autumn leaves. Every place has a taste, but I will never forget the
taste of the majesty of the San Juan Mountains.
The first time I laid eyes upon the San Juan Mountains, I couldn t believe that I was only a few miles
away from the cold desert that is Colorado. The further into the rugged mountain range the highway
led me, the more awe and disbelief fell upon me. I felt small, and as if I was the first person to ever
discover those hidden valleys that support entire ecosystems of plants and animals. The scattered puffs
of cloud above me painted shadows along the razor edged peaks, giving an appearance of a mural,
rather than massive chunks of rock carved away by the centuries. I could hear nothing except for the
pounding of far off waterfalls and the whispering of the pines, who shared secrets that nobody but
they would ever know. I felt like an intruder, and yet welcomed. I was lost, but at home.
Around a bend, and out of the blue, there came a town. Even so far from the nearest city, the town was
butsling. Main Street was lined with colorful buildings restored from the Victorian era. A two floor
hotel, elegant even in it s old age, announced its presence at the corner of an intersection. The stout
brick walls stood fortified, defying the valley winds. The occasional house could be seen through the
tightly packed boutiques, shops, and art galleries. One was baby blue and white, another, the color of
dried saffron. Further on down Main Street, natural hot springs revealed themselves. People of every
age packed into the heated pools. A vicious game of volleyball had commenced, and more people
were flocking to the net even in the second it took to drive past. Eventually, the quaint Main Street
ended, and the highway led the car through several switchbacks that twisted up the side of the valley.
At the top, a weather worn sign named the town Ouray , and the sight below was one to behold. Ouray
spread through the bowl formed when rivers and mountains collide, spreading to the edges until not a
shed more could ve been built. But the highway kept leading, and the car kept

Cinematic Techniques In Tim Burton Films
In Tim Burton films and shorts he uses cinematic techniques such as lighting, music/sound, and
editing to his advantage to portray and emphasize the atmosphere of specific scenes in his movies.
Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Burton
edition) all facilitate these methods distinctively. These techniques influence and the manipulate the
audience s view on the film. If the music/sound is cheerful in the beginning the audience will most
likely perceive and predict that the whole movie will be jubilant. Concerning lighting, If a scene has

For instance in The Nightmare Before Christmas there is a fine example of music/ sound affecting the
mood when comparing the two towns (Christmas and Halloween). Both of the towns music represents
the characters and the ideals that each town is set on. In Halloween town the music is dark, mysterious
and contains snake charmer melodies showing that it is based on being scary and mysterious just like
Halloween. The opposite of this is in Christmas town where the neighborhoods are filled with
cheerful, upbeat, repetitive music which convey the happiness of Christmas and the townspeople in
general. Music/Sound also has a major influence in Edward Scissorhands . For instance in the segment
of the movie where Edward has a flashback and the invention room is being showed you can hear the
rhythmic thump to the machinery making cookies, this sound conveys to the audience a
mysteriousness of the factory and the robots and questions what this has to do with Edward. In
addition to this there is also a scene when Kim goes outside to see what Edward is doing and
encounters him making snow from ice sculpture. She has never seen snow so when this interaction
happens there is a melodic, angel music being placed with this scene. However when she ventures to

Solvency status of companies also looked good. Though Exxon again showed its financial supremacy

The Word Folly In Advertising Campaign Analysis
In agonizing over the use of the word folly in its advertising campaign, it was necessary that New
Belgium Brewery (NBB) took adequate measures in ensuring that the operation was successful. When
campaigning, NBB s goal is to create a lasting impression on it s audience, and developing the
appropriate slogan, and utilizing the proper wordage, is vital to it s success. For example, the Capital
One campaign is known for it s What s in your wallet catch phrase, and State Farm is known for it s
Like a good neighbor slogan. In the late 1990 s, the three major companies that led in advertising were
Anheuser Busch, Miller Brewing Company and Coors Brewing Company (Wilcox, 2001, p. 149).
NBB s struggle with using the word folly , was the fear of delivering an erroneous interpretation of the
quality of it s beer. In practicing the AIDA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I personally had to research the word folly , due to it not being a common word in my vocabulary, to
determine it s meaning. The word in itself, is not one I would use in an advertisement; although it is
descriptive of the effects of alcohol. Recalling the feeling of an out of body experience , and a feeling
of unreality, is somewhat the picture of drinking beer paints. NBB using the word folly, is advertising
that their product will allow you to experience the feeling of foolishness and unreality. In foolishness,
your thought process is distorted, which hinders appropriate decisions, of which many drinkers enjoy.
A study conducted revealed that beer drinkers consume alcohol to relieve stress, relax their minds, and
allow the opportunity to socialize more openly with strangers (Jayne, Valentine, Holloway, 2010, p.
546). If the intent of NBB using the word folly, is to entice beer drinkers to achieve the feeling of
foolishness, I understand the

The Beliefs Of Donald Trump And Trump Criticism
These are the NFL Players Protesting today amid Trump Criticism
Are Americans going about protesting their beliefs in the correct way? Standing during the National
Anthem has been a way Americans show respect for their country since the 1800 s, therefore not
standing is nothing short of disrespectful. Last year, former pro quarterback Colin Kaepernick started
kneeling during the National Anthem because he believed standing was social and racial injustice and
players today have followed his actions. After a statement from President Trump on Sunday,
September 24th, there has been nothing but more chaos and protests throughout our Nation s
professional football teams. All American citizens should know and understand that protesting is
perfectly acceptable but protesting and disrespecting something that is completely irrelevant is not,
there is nothing anyone can do about who the elected President is and you can t take everything
Donald Trump says seriously, but regardless of the situation, it is never acceptable Kneel during our
National Anthem. America is a country all about freedom, therefore those who choose to protest have
every right to do so but disrespecting something that has been a part of the American tradition for over
two hundred years is not the right way to go about it. Colin Kaepernick started the trend of kneeling
during the National Anthem last year and said he refuses to show pride in a flag for a country that
oppresses black people and people of

The Second Seminole War
The events leading up to the Second Seminole War remain some of the most perverse and contentious
proceedings to have occurred in American history. Between 1819, the ending of the First Seminole
War, and 1835, the beginning of the Second, the United States government did everything within its
power to not only remove the Natives Americans from its borders, but did so through seditious and
deceptive legislature. It was during this time that the expansion of the power of the president and a
complete disregard for foreign affairs characterized the union and their willingness to use extralegal
means to achieve their desired goals. This era remains one of the saddest affairs in American history,
and provides insight into how the executive branch was able to attain new power during the era of
Jackson.
In order to understand the significance of the events preceding the Second Seminole War, one must
first examine the First Seminole War. Frustrated with Seminole protection of runaway slaves, Andrew
Jackson and more than three thousand men entered northern Florida in 1816 and began to decimate
Seminole populations. Despite most of these campaigns being unsanctioned by the United States
government and protested by the British and the Spanish, Jackson was received as a war hero
throughout the nation and protected from punitive measures. The refusal of the government to punish
Jackson for the injustices led to foreign hostilities with both Britain and Spain. The Adam Onis Treaty
of 1819

Pat Tillman Character Analysis
Somewhere inside, we hear a voice. It leads us in the direction of the person we wish to become. But it
is up to us whether to follow or not. Pat Tillman was a man of many great qualities.
One of the big qualities of Pat Tillman that made him known was his modesty. First let s start off with
a time when Pat was in High school. After winning the state title in football, Pat was interviewed after
having an amazing game. He was asked about how he felt he did and he stated that he didn t do that
good, but the team had a great game. Pat Tillman most certainly did not care about money. When he
first got drafted he didn t go and spend his bonus money on a new car and the new clothes that were in
style, some people even stated they thought he was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In high school, Pat was told by his baseball coach to stay out for baseball and not do football, but
instead he told his coach he was going to work hard and get a division 1 football scholarship. Pat was
only about 5 4 at this time and was really small in weight and size. He worked hard and eventually got
his division 1 football scholarship. He was later on drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in the 7th round.
Many have said that, since Pat is smaller than most college and NFL players he had to work really
hard and without this drive Pat would have never even been drafted. As soon as he was officially an
Arizona Cardinal and practices started, Pat went all out and made the most of his opportunity. Most of
the other players started to get irritated with how hard Pat was going in practices, but that is exactly
the kind of player the coaching staff wanted on their team. Through all of Pat s hard work he ended up
starting for the Cardinals as a safety. He kept on dominating on the field and this led to the media and
press being all around him. He had a press conference and Pat stated If you re going to do something
you have to do it with passion, or there is no reason to even do

The Character Of Shakespeare s Macbeth Or A Tragic Hero
In the Shakespearean play of Macbeth, Macbeth can be considered a tragic hero or a villain depending
on the extent. But, to what extent is he is a tragic hero or a villain? From act to act, the reader can see
Macbeth s character develop and the changes in the way other perceive him. In the way Shakespeare
writes, he makes Macbeth s character progressive, meaning that through the play his redeeming
qualities appear to diminish. Macbeth, although his actions are strengthened by Lady Macbeth and the
witches, his own intentions ultimately lead to his defeat and can lead him to be characterized as either
a villain or a tragic hero. Macbeth has several redeeming qualities, or potentially heroic qualities, that
can classify him as a tragic hero, but he also has some qualities that could characterize his as a villain.
A tragic hero, according to Aristotle s definition, must be a literary character who makes a judgment
error that inevitably leads to his/her own destruction . Macbeth displays the characteristics of a tragic
hero because inevitable that he is fully responsible for his own actions. He also realizes that what he is
planning to commit, Duncan s murder, is a crime and realizes this with the other murders as well.
Macbeth is destined for downfall, suffering and defeat from the beginning of the play, after he begins
to contemplate the witches prophecies. Finally, Macbeth, like a tragic hero has heroic or potentially
heroic qualities, such as ambition, bravery, kindness and imaginativness. Macbeth is ambitious
because even though the witches give opportunity for temptation brought up through their words, he
allows his ambitious thoughts to have full control. He demonstrates bravery because he commented on
for being brave when fighting against Macdonwald and Sweno in the first act. Lady Macbeth
mentions Macbeth s feature of kindness when she says [y]et I do fear thy nature/[i]t is too full o the
milk of human kindness (1.5.4) . Imaginativeness is generally a good quality to have but in Macbeth s
case it could be one of the causes of his down such as when he sees the ghost of Banquo and sees the
blood stained dagger.
A villain, according to Merriam Webster s English dictionary, is one blamed for a

Antecedents in the Life of Bob Ansett
Topic: Personal, sociological and environmental antecedents have been identified in the
entrepreneurial business. You are to find an article on an entrepreneur in a tourism or hospitality
business and discuss your entrepreneur s personal, sociological and environmental antecedents.
Personal, sociological and environmental antecedents experienced by an individual and the
consequences of these antecedents are critical in determining whether that individual has the capacity
to become an entrepreneur or not (Zahra et al. 1999). For the purposes of this essay, the entrepreneur
under discussion is Robert Ansett, an Australian entrepreneur in the transport and tourism industry.
The reason for choosing this individual for this is essay is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This innate trait of a high need of achievement was one of the sociological antecedents responsible for
the then enormous success of the company.
A third sociological antecedent that relates to this entrepreneur is the ability to lead people to achieve a
vision. Mr. Ansett was a firm believer in employee relations. He applied the philosophy of taking care
of employees to his own leadership style, introducing staff health and fitness programs at Budget.
Keeping his employees inspired was one of Mr. Ansett s main goals at the company and this resulted
in his employees being highly inspired and taking Budget to a strong market position against
competitors (Bob Ansett s Achievements About Bob Ansett n.d.).
The third category of antecedents that have shaped the career of Bob Ansett s entrepreneurial career
are the environmental antecedents. Studies by Petrof (1981) have shown that whether or not an
individual s father has started a company is the key factor that has an impact on the entrepreneurial
process of an individual from an environmental point of view. This ties in with the personal antecedent
as Mr. Ansett was born into a tourism and transport environment with an entrepreneur for a father.
Although he started gaining insights of his father s life only at age 32, this greatly influenced Mr.
Ansett s decision to start his own business and become a

Advantages And Effects Of Refugee Refugees
Refugee warriors are citizens of one state who crossed the border as a refugee and live in in a
neighboring country. Citizens live in camps on the borders of the state that they were born. In the
camps the refugees live in the refugee warriors conduct war against the regime that is in power or
control. Sometimes we feel sympathy for what they do and in other instances we may disapprove.
Whether we approve or disapprove their actions they are refugee warriors and if they have and if they
flee from their home and live in neighboring countries like refugee communities and start attacks
against the regime that is in power in their home from bases in the neighboring countries. There are
conditions in being a refugee warrior and to be a member a person s parents or grandparents fled from
a region in their place of origin and secondly the person uses violence to remove the regime that is in
control. The base for carrying on the conflict is placed in refugee communities in neighboring
countries. Refugee warriors weaken the regime in their home country and their host state but that
doesn t mean that refugee warriors are bad because free their own people from persecution.

  • 2. Ununhexium Research Paper Apoorav Joshi Mr. Yagar Chemistry 10C 12/7/2015 The Newest Elements There have been many elements that have been discovered in this world. The two latest elements that have been discovered are ununquadium and ununhexium. Ununquadium is element number 114 on the periodic table. It was given the official name of flerovium by the IUPAC in 2012. Ununhexium is element 116 on the periodic table. It was given the official name of livermorium by the IUPAC in 2012. There are two other elements that have been discovered, but not yet confirmed. Those elements are ununtrium and ununpentium. Ununtrium is element 113 on the periodic table and it has no official name yet. Ununpentium is element 115 on the periodic table and also has no official name yet. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The creation of the element was the work of the two science teams at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna and the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California. The creation of the element was made possible through the fusion of elements 20 and 96. To be precise, calcium 48 was fused with curium 248. When calcium atoms were fired at the curium target, the atom livermorium 292 was formed. It lasted for about 50 ms before it underwent alpha decay. In a year s worth of experimentation, two atoms of livermorium 292 had been created. One lasted for around 125 ms and the other lasted for around 55 ms. By the end of the experiment, 23,000,000,000,000,000,000 atoms of calcium had been fired at the curium target and over 30 atoms of livermorium had been created by 2005. The director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna wanted to name the element after Muscovy, in honor of the Moscow region. But, the IUPAC decided to name the element livermorium after the hard work that the scientists at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory put into making the elements. The IUPAC accepted the existence of livermorium along with the existence of flerovium. The IUPAC needed more time to accept the existence of the element ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Bad Leadership In Antigone There is no happiness where there is no wisdom; ...proud men in old age learn to be wise. Choragos narrated at the end of the play Antigone (41). Short plays such as Antigone are exemplary literatures that contain a vast amount of ethical issues, therefore enforcing critical thinking. Antigone, a tragic drama play, was created by Sophocles before 441 BC. The well written play dictates the story of a young woman who is charged for burying her brother as a representation of honor and the thoughts of a stubborn king. Creon is a self centered character that is after Antigone and does everything in his power to murder her. Finally, the play illustrates that bad leadership that involves and leads to vanity, murder, and oppression. Creon is the powerful king who rules the state after the death of Oedipus, with his ruling power he clearly shows throughout the play a sense of vanity. Creon had a very firm and cold attitude towards people, but his purpose as king was to provide political and social order. During the play Antigone, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It turns the situation to a worst degree, because it seemed that murdering Antigone was no longer a punishment of what she had done. Instead it was a penalty to Haimon for trying to help Creon make a more rational decision. As mentioned previously, assassinating people to show how powerful or rightful a person is, shows a lack of humanism. Furthermore, Antigone mentioned a strong point yelling, Ah the good fortune of kings, licensed to say and do whatever they please! to which Creon replies, You are alone here in that opinion. Antigone later in that altercation explains No, they are with me. But they keep their tongues in leash (16). • 6. A Writers Style A Writers Style The Pulitzer Prize winning writer N. Scott Momaday has become known as a very distinctive writer who depicts the stories of the Native American life in almost poetic ways. He does an excellent job of transporting the reader from the black and white pages of a book, to a world where every detail is pointed out and every emotion felt when reading one of Momaday s books or other writings. This style of writing that Momaday uses is very evident in his work The Way to Rainy Mountain, and made even more apparent by reading a review of the book House Made of Dawn found on a web site run by HarperCollins Publishers. Throughout the essay The Way to Rainy Mountain , Momaday uses very descriptive words, which brings the places ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This might have been avoided if Momaday had made it clearer that the focus of the story was on the Kiowa people and not his journey back to see his grandmother s grave. Once I understood this aspect though, I was able to completely appreciate the story and imagery for what it was. This was a slight downside of Momaday s writing, however he was able to pull it all together and make it less of a distraction in the end. Another characteristic of Momaday s writings is how they involve change. For example, in his essay of The Way to Rainy Mountain, the whole story is based around him returning home to see his grandmothers grave. However, the point of the story is to tell the history of his people, the Kiowa people, and how they came to settle on the land known as Rainy Mountain. As he tells this story, Momaday also shows how the present times have changed from what he remembers of the past. How his grandmother s house would be alive when so many of his people would be gathered there and now it lies so empty and quiet as the times have changed. Momaday s book House Made of Dawn also talks about change in the world for the Native Americans. The main character of the story, Abel, faces the difficult challenge of deciding whether to leave his family and history behind. So that he might find his place in the modernized post World War II country. He decides to face the new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 12. The Importance Of Federalism In The United States Government When the founding fathers came together, they realized that they had important things to discuss. Truthfully because The Articles of Confederation had not been efficient enough for the national government. The Articles of Confederation left the national government without a judiciary and independent executive, leaving Congress with most of the power; but it was largely a creature of the states. This sparked conflicted amongst state which eventually lead to the government s debt. Once The Founding Fathers realized the poor ethics that the Articles of Confederation had, the first topic they felt the need to discuss had been federalism. As read in We the People textbook, federalism means the Constitution s division of governing authority between two levels, nation and states was the result of political bargaining. As I reflect back on previous lessons/discussions, I find it that Federalism is an ideology that s written in the constitution to divide power between federal and state government; even though the term is not bluntly stated. Honorably, the simulation mirrored what took place in 1787, by having four interest groups and Senators from eight delegations representing their states interest. The Senators main objective had been to reform the Proposed Legislation for Federal Anti Smoking Standards bill that could potentially benefit both their locals and local government. Architecture Manifesto Example Course: ARC 103 Title: Architecture and Sensitivity: A Manifesto for Sustainable Design This manifesto proposes an approach to sustainable design that I am interested in exploring during my time studying architecture. The idea of sustainability is a complex one, not without apparent contradictions. This makes it difficult to define in a wholly satisfactory manner. For the purposes of this manifesto I will advert to the definition proposed by Jason McLennan who asserts that sustainable design: seeks to maximize the quality of the built environment, while minimizing or eliminating negative impact to the natural environment. I find this definition particularly useful in the emphasis which it places on quality. By quality, in this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A more recent example of contextually sensitive design is afforded by Grafton Architect s proposal for the new Faculty of Economics for the University of Toulouse, still under construction. While envisaging their project, the architects walked from one side of the city to the other, gauging the character of the brick facades, the polygonal towers, the transitions from streets to courts and the underlying spatial patterns. The resulting design offers a sensitive response to the layered history and unique geography of the site. • 14. Destruction In Ernest Hemingway s The Old Man And The Sea Man is not made for defeat. A man can be destroyed but not defeated, Ernest Hemingway. In the novel The Old Man and the Sea written by the spokesman of this quote, it is truly demonstrated that a man can be destroyed but not defeated through the main character, Santiago. He is an older man who loves to fish and devotes most of his time to fishing. Unfortunately, he had not brought back a fish in over eighty days. This occurrence lead to his pupil Manolin s parents not allowing their son to fish with Santiago and also some other fishermen who thought he was a joke. Like Manolin s parents and also the other fisherman, many disbelievers think that the old man is unlucky, therefore it is not his fate to catch a worthy fish. They believe that it takes luck and fate to catch a fish. On the contrary, both Santiago and Manolin disagree as they believe that pride and ambition will help Santiago finally catch his dream fish. The theme of pride of ambition beating out their counterparts fate and luck is thoroughly expressed in all facets of this novel. Three main occurrences where the theme is present is when he still goes out even with his bad luck , when he continues to hang on to the fish he has hooked, and finally when he returns home and his pride and ambition is recognized by others. The first example of the theme being present in the book is when Santiago decides to still go out and fish. As the first sentence of the book states, He was an old man who fished alone in a ... In environmental terms, market failure results in an array of impacts of varying significance that are often amplified by the globalized macro economy and our planet s vast social inequity. For example, an externality such as air pollution may not directly affect the consumer, but can have adverse impacts on the local environment where the product was produced. • 27. Joseph Smith And Ethical Relativism Ethical Relativism takes the position that morality is relative to time periods, cultures, subcultures within cultures and time periods (Velasquez, Andre, Shanks Meyers, 1987). Joseph Smith was the founder of Mormonism also known as The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, sometime in 1830 in upstate New York. After God the Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him Joseph Smith told his mother that he had learned for himself that Presbyterianism was not true (Turner, 2016). The early members were driven from Ohio, Missouri, and then Illinois on into Utah. Once in Utah, Mormons spread throughout much of the world (Murphy, 1999). In 1996 there were more than nine million Mormons worldwide with most of them living outside the United States (Murphy, 1999). When Joseph Smith wrote the Book of Mormon he gave the readers new scripture that would explain racial inequality while he attempted to clear the old paradox between a God who was supposed to be impartial and the imbalanced relations between European immigrants and the American Indians (Murphy, 1999). Smith claimed that he translated the Book of Mormon from an ancient Hebrew record that was engraved in Egyptian characters that he found buried in a hillside in upstate New York (Murphy, 1999). In the book Smith explains the right of the white people to rule over the dark skinned people. Smith associated having dark skin with a curse from God, a person who rejected the truth, filthiness, laziness, illiteracy, and degradation (Murphy, 1999). He wrote about a positive reward to converts among the American Indians that would include a chosen status as a covenant Israelite from the Old Testament and promises a glorious future of white skin and the role of leadership in the true church in the last days (Murphy, 1999). During this time in American history Indians were thought of as savage dark skinned people who were unequal to the white skinned settlers. Ethical relativism allows us to see that in this time and in this culture, it was acceptable for the white settlers to have feelings of superiority over the Indians. We can also understand that the Mormons ethical ideas of wanting to convert the Indians would allow the Indians to have a positive reward ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Between 1819, the ending of the First Seminole War, and 1835, the beginning of the Second, the United States government did everything within its power to not only remove the Natives Americans from its borders, but did so through seditious and deceptive legislature. It was during this time that the expansion of the power of the president and a complete disregard for foreign affairs characterized the union and their willingness to use extralegal means to achieve their desired goals. This era remains one of the saddest affairs in American history, and provides insight into how the executive branch was able to attain new power during the era of Jackson. In order to understand the significance of the events preceding the Second Seminole War, one must first examine the First Seminole War. Frustrated with Seminole protection of runaway slaves, Andrew Jackson and more than three thousand men entered northern Florida in 1816 and began to decimate Seminole populations. Despite most of these campaigns being unsanctioned by the United States government and protested by the British and the Spanish, Jackson was received as a war hero throughout the nation and protected from punitive measures. The refusal of the government to punish Jackson for the injustices led to foreign hostilities with both Britain and Spain. The Adam Onis Treaty of 1819 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
