Janet s Case For Life Insurance
Janet applied for life insurance on February 10, 2003. The amount her policy would pay out upon her
death would be $250,000. On September 1, 2005 Janet was sadly murdered which caused the life
insurance company to pay out the beneficiary who in our case is Janet s husband, Craig. Although the
contract should have been paid out in full upon Janet s death, the insurance company is refusing to pay
out the policy. When Janet applied for life insurance in 2003 she when through an extensive
application form which is typical for all life insurance contracts. On this form she was asked about her
health specifically if she had been operated on or been hospitalized in the last ten years. Along with
that and many other things Janet was asked if she had any lung disorders. She replied to both of these
questions with no when in fact she had been in the hospital several times in the last ten years and had a
lung disorder. She suffers from recurrent chest pains and abdominal pains. She has also been
diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. For these two reason and more the life insurance company is
refusing to payout the policy to Craig.
A normal case of life insurance is paid out upon the death of the person insured but in this
circumstance the payment is being withheld. The main legal issue in this case is can the life insurance
company withhold payment of the insured amount. On that another hand does Craig, the beneficiary
of the life insurance, have the right to receive or to be owed the

Iraq War Causes
The Iraq War was caused by the civil war that Iraq had in the past, and also several problems that Iran

Below is the explanation of why:
Although the satellite is always falling towards the earth, because of gravity, the right combination of

British Child Protection Policies Essay
Introduction
Parliaments and their members can and should be among the foremost champions of child protection.
They can legislate, oversee government activity, allocate financial resources and, as leaders within
their nations and communities, raise awareness of issues and provide advocacy.
Historic Perspective
The end of the 19th century saw a raising concern with the cruelty inflicted to children by their
guardians, that was expressed in the public campaigns carried out by the National Society for the
Prevention of Cruelty to Children . This, together with the progressive intervention of the state into
family life during that period, for example through compulsory education, created the appropriated
conditions for the passage of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(The prevention of delinquency was made through psychological treatment of the family and from the
late 1920 s there was a spread of Child Guidance Clinics .)
Following the death of Denis O Neil at the hands of his foster parents in 1945 and the Curtis report in
1946, that investigated the welfare of looked after children , the parliament passed the Children Act
1948 which created local authorities children s services to take responsibility for children in care .
This was coherent with the after War period of the welfare state and the idea of widen welfare services
and allowances . In 1952, after lobbying by children s departments workers representatives for a more
preventive work , the Children and Young Persons (Amendment) Act extended the duties of local
authorities to investigate any cases of alleged abuse or neglect . This responsibility was further
extended in 1963 by the Children and Young Persons Act. The act placed a duty on local authorities to
provide preventive services to families to avoid the entrance of children into care and to reduce the
time spent in care.

Foreign Aid Failure
In an article published by The Spectator entitled Why foreign aid fails and how to really help Africa,
Daron Acemoglu and James A. Robinson condemn the current system of foreign aid granting and
suggest an alternate, more efficient solution. They support their points by deducing that extractive
institutions, in which incentives for economic prosperity are few, are the culprit of enduring poverty;
by providing examples where foreign aid failed to reduce poverty (Congo, Angola, Syria, and South
Africa); by giving testimonies from former British Prime Minister David Cameron and multilateral
institutions concerning the effectiveness of foreign aid; and by advising an alternative solution to
combating poverty, involving diplomatic relations

Benefits Of International Student Recruitment
This is one major reason that many students choose to study in the US and participation in
multicultural groups may help students to make the needed connections to enjoy a successful stay after
graduation (Chue Nie, 2016).
In addition to fiscal benefits to international students, there are benefits to the university and
surrounding community that are gained from an improved relationship with the international student
population For instance, international students who remain after graduation become members of the
community and promote cultural awareness and competence (Bodycott Walker, 2000; Kumasi Hill,
2011). Moreover, universities can benefit from greater retention and completion among students.

Improved relationships between institutions and international students should be a major focal point
for researchers and administrators for the future.
The low response rate of this study and many others shows the necessity to determine what may be
preventing students and potential participants from answering surveys. Is this an issue of a lack of
English skills or are there other mechanisms at play that need to be considered? For instance,
differences in culture could preclude some people from participating and some may be reluctant to
participate due to unethical survey research they may have dealt with in the past. Learning
communities in US higher education are very diverse and each group, including international students,
deserves recognition and inclusion (Petrovich Lowe, 2005). However, it is problematic to address
issues when one cannot get enough participants to warrant attention from those in decision making
roles. Therefore, determining if there are differences in participation based on demographic
information as well as overall reluctance to participate should be explored to improve the quality and
quantity of data that is collected from international students. More research can also help to determine
which incentives are the most helpful when attempting to perform a

Critical Analysis Of Kate Chopin s The Awakening
The Awakening Critical Essay The novel The Awakening by Kate Chopin contains content that is
highly debatable and easily controversial. In the essay Chopin s The Awakening by Roger Platizky, the
author interpreted from the novel that the depression of Edna Pontellier, the main feminine lead, is
created not only from the male oppression of the time period, but is also derived from the idea that
Edna is affected by a previous encounter with sexual violence, either as a witness or a victim. While
there is some way to infer that this is true, it is not confirmed and is quite a reach, considering her life
now and willingness with men. The reason that some readers believe this is due to her mood changes,
boundary problems and suicide (Platizky, Roger). If Edna was a victim or witness to sexual violence,
she would be even more submissive and fragile as a character. This theory is untrue, however, because
throughout the novel Edna Pontellier displays a growing strength that is presented to the men in her
life and finally gains her the independence she has been desiring, even if it isn t in the most
predictable way. In the essay, Chopin s The Awakening, Platizky writes that while one could argue she
was just shy or introverted, Edna s sweeping passions later in the novel suggest the introversion may
have been imposed. (Platizky, Roger). While this is true that Edna has sweeping passions later in the
novel, it is not correlated to Edna wanting to block something from her memory, such as sexual
violence. While someone could insist that Edna s mood swings are suggesting the protagonist is trying
to block something more than just her realization that she is unhappy in her present marriage
(Platizky), that information is extremely faulty. Instead, Edna s mood swings deal with the oppression
of the patriarchal society that women were thrown into during this time period. Each woman was
supposed to lack individuality and obey the men, especially in the Creole Catholic society. Edna s lack
of cooperation towards this norm shows up often in The Awakening.
She could not at that moment have done other than denied and resisted. She wondered if her husband
had ever spoken to her like that before, and is she has submitted

Abolition Of The Death Penalty
Abolition of the Death Penalty
Capital Punishment, otherwise known as the death penalty, first dates back to the English Colonies in
the 1600s. The people of this time adopted this tradition to punish people who had committed crimes
of murder, treason, theft, robbery, rape, or other horrible offenses. In 1776, people already began to
see the inefficiency of the death penalty. Benjamin Rush, a physician and signer of the Declaration of
Independence, stated that the punishment of murder by death is contrary to reason and to the order and
happiness of society. Rush believed that the death penalty should only be a product of England, and
that America should not condone premeditated killing by the government, but rather leave that
practice in England.
In 1794, the state of Pennsylvania began to promote the idea of restricting capital punishment. Soon
after, other states followed Pennsylvania s lead and either reduced the number of capital crimes or got
rid of capital punishment all together. By 1846, the state of Michigan was the first state in the United
States to outlaw the death penalty. After Michigan s implementation of the new law, other northern
states, such as Rhode Island and Wisconsin, outlawed it as well. However, states in the South kept the
death Penalty for a variety of reasons. One of the most important reasons it was kept in the South was
because of the high crime rate and slavery. At times when states would get rid of the death penalty,
they would end up

I Know You Love Me-Now Let Me Die By Louis M. Profeta...
Many families are willing to do anything to save their loved ones. In the article I Know You Love Me
Now Let Me Die by Louis M. Profeta, the author mentions a time when people died in places with
happy memories that were forgotten once technology began to develop. Because dying in a familiar
environment was the old way of letting a beloved person pass, Profeta uses circular structure to
explore how every family wants to preserve their loved one s life even if the person wants to die.
Some families were able to let their special ones pass with the last days [s]pent with familiar sounds,
in a familiar room, with familiar smells, that gave her a final chance to summon memories that will

The author uses circular structure to state how people died before to display the importance of the last
phrase in an argument. As a result, many would see how their beloved ones would want to stay in a
comfortable place to leave with happy memories rather than trying to give their families false hope.
Additionally, instead of trying to come up with more ways to save a life of a person that wants to rest
in peace, the doctors and families chose to do what they should instead of what they could and with
that we will close our eyes to familiar sounds in a familiar room, a fleeting smile and a final soft
squeeze of a familiar hand (Profeta). Technology is often thought as something that can be used for
everything but when some can not depend on it anymore, many will become aware of their
surroundings. Families will see how they were not aware of how their loved ones felt when they had
no hope of surviving. Those that have not lived their lives to the fullest would think that any dying
person would want to be given a chance to live longer although the elderly person realizes that it is

How Does Edmund Kemper Contribute To The Witch Archetype
I link Edmund Kemper to the to the witch archetype because the the film Carrie, Ed had a very
controlling yet protective mother. A trait of the witch is a figure of resentment and ridicule which I
connect to both Carrie s mother and Ed s. In the movie her mother resented Carrie because she sees
her as a punishment from one of her greatest sins. With Edmund, he witnessed all the pain that she
experienced within her life from a failed marriage with his father and felt as if he was a constant
reminder of that. Naturally a trait from the witch is supernatural powers, even though Edmund
Kemper doesn t have supernatural powers he does carry non supernatural powers. By having the

Gdp And Total Expenditure On Purchasing A New Houses Essay
1. GDP is the monetary value allocated to all goods and services produced within a given country.
This excludes the net income accruing from abroad. GDP can be measured using the total expenditure
approach for calculating National Income as a summation of total expenditure on commodities
produced in a given economy. Any expenditure on purchasing a new houses is excluded. The final
consumption of the government is also included together with all current expenditure. Their
expenditure on fixed assets is also included. The value of the physical increase in inventories during
the course if the year is also included. The summation of all these components is the Total Domestic
Expenditure, TDE. Adding up expenditure on export to the TDE determines the Total Final
Expenditure. Subtracting all expenditure on imports from this total results to a measure known as the
GDP at market rate. Subtracting taxes on expenditure levied by the government and adding back the
total amount of subsidy leads to the arrival at a figure known as GDP at factor cost. National income is
however affected by interest, rent and profit accruing from abroad and the net of the property income
from abroad ought to be added to the GDP. This leads to the arrival at the GDP at factor cost. GDP can
also be arrived at by using factor incomes in the computation of National Income. Under this
approach, the summation of individual incomes arrives at the domestic income, as each time
something is produced and sold,

Immigrants And Immigration
Australia is a country with a diverse culture, and immigrants are an important part of Australian
population. Because Australia is underpopulated due to a low birth rate, negative population growth
will have adverse long term effects on the economy as the population ages and the labor market
becomes less competitive. Because of these reasons the Australian government has a policy which
encourages immigration. Immigrants might affect Australia in different ways such as economic and
environment. Immigrants have significant influence for Australian economic in positive ways, for
example economic growth, population growth and solve the aging problem. There is a simple
relationship between immigration and economic growth. More people joining the production cause the
economy keeps growing. The more population makes economic growth because more people buy
more products. The increase in migration helps GDP growth and keeping Australian economic strong.
And due to amount of the highly educated migrants ,Australian has significant change of technology.
For example in the IT industry, medical and architect. On the other hand Australia s population is
ageing quite rapidly. The number of Australians aging more than 60 will double after 2050, as reported
by projection of the 2015 IGR. (Carvalho, 2015). In this situation government has to increase the
welfare budget. However, huge number of migrants could change the structure of population ,because

This delay is called the incubation period. Most organisms take up temporary residencies in the
intestines, while others produce toxins that can get into the blood stream; these are the most severe
cases of foodborne illness. This is why food safety is imperative to this experiment. Everything must
be at the proper temperature to be consumed. If it is not, then the outcome will not be good. I will take
every measure possible to make sure that everything is correct. So why would these foods spoil if they
weren t refrigerated? Pathogenic bacteria grows rapidly in temperatures above 4.4°C (40°F). This type
of bacteria does not affect the smell, taste, or appearance of the food, making it difficult to determine
whether or not the pathogens are present. By refrigerating foods at the correct temperature, you are
eliminating the chances of these harmful pathogens growing in your food and contaminating them. For
example, if you accidentally left a jug of milk on the counter overnight it would become warm and
develop a rancid odor. If you were to drink it, the chances of you getting a foodborne illness would be
high considering that the harmful pathogens had time to grow. Spoilage bacteria can also grow at low
temperatures, however they cause foods to develop disgusting odors and appearances. Most people
would not choose to eat these foods, but if they did they would most likely not become ill. If I were

Blood Symptoms Of Amnesia
Amnesia refers to a large scale loss of memories that should not have been forgotten. They may
include important milestones in life, memorable events, key people in our lives, and vital facts we

classified into different types depending on which aspect of memory is affected; this is often
determined by the areas in the brain that are damaged. Many kind of amnesia are associated with

Losing part of your life memories is a big change, it can make it hard for you to do the things you used
to do on a regular basis. In some cases people with this condition will never recover from the
memories they lost, taking them to the point where they have to create new memories in their new life.
To avoid further memory loss people with amnesia should avoid alcohol abuse and have a proper diet.
It is important for those people who are suffering from memory loss, to have a doctor helping them
through the process of recovering. It is hard to know if someone will ever recover from their memory
lost, in some cases people tend to remember some stuff but not all. For those people who suffered
from anterograde amnesia(which means they have no capacity to make new memories, and may even
have difficulty recalling events before the onset memory) improvements can be made by repetition of
tasks so they can develop a routine, which lodges in their subconscious memory. For example, they

Abstract
This paper compares and contrasts the concepts found on John P. Kotter s, Leading Change (1996),
book and the concepts presented by John M. Ivancevich, Robert Konopske and Michael T. Mattenson
s Organizational Behavior and Management text book. Kotter emphasizes in each step the importance
of dealing with human emotions and how to better manage them when dealing with organizational

The people that are leading the efforts are in charge of making changes that should result in a more
effective organization in terms of organizational strength. This step can be compared to Ivancevich et
al. s concepts of teams and changing attitudes.
The guiding coalition should act as a synergetic team as described by Ivancevich et al. This team
should be formed by individuals who are one hundred percent committed and dedicated towards the
goal of organizational change. They should be skilled in leadership, problem solving and emotional
roles (P. 259). The emotional role will be discussed more in depth when presenting the changing
attitudes concept. Forming a guiding coalition is an essential component for undertaking a restructure,
reengineer or to retool strategies (Kotter, 1996, P. 52).
Kotter mentioned the integrity or trust factor as a main component to altering employees negative
attitudes and motivating them towards change. The concept presented by Ivancevich et al. on changing
attitudes includes the communicator, the message and the situation factors (this analysis will only refer
to the first two factors). The communicator factor relates to employee s willingness to change attitudes
because they like and trust their manager (guiding coalition), they can even tend to adopt attitudes and
behaviors of that individual (Ivancevich et al, 2007, P.69). Within the message factor, the guiding

Who Is Don Quixote Insane
Don Quixote by Cervantes
The story of Don Quixote is about an old man named Alonso Quijano, dismayed by the current state
of his life who was so into chivalric novels that he became insane and decided that he was a vagrant

through the besting of wrongdoers and general upholding of the Chivalric Code.
Though framed in the narrative of the chivalrous stories that so transfixed Quixote. In many ways,
Don Quixote is a novel about how Don Quixote perceives the world and about how other characters

friends the barber and the priest, initially try to persuade Don Quixote out of his knightly delusions. To
get Don Quixote to go along with their efforts, however, they must play along with his world,

Maxiella Case Study
As the maxilla develops in the region posterior to the maxillary tuberosity, the anterior cranial fossa,
the palate, and the body of the mandible also has to follow the growth pattern of maxilla and increase
in length.21 The mandible follows this growth pattern by remodeling the anterior part of the ramus
posteriorly, leaving an offset relationship between the upper and lower arches with the maxilla more
forward than the mandible (Class II type relationship).19,21 To keep pace with the anteriorly
forwarding maxillary growth, the distal portion of the ramus starts remodeling. Ramus resorbs
anteriorly while the posterior portion remodels, thus maintaining the same width of the ramus and at
the same time relocating it more posteriorly to allow for increase in length of the body of the mandible
and achieve the perfect positioning of the mandible with the maxilla returning to a Class I position of
the teeth. The upward and backward repositioning of the ramus occurs to increase the length of
vertical dimension and to provide horizontal expansion of the mandible with a further descent of the
mandibular arch and occlusal separation.
As growth and development continues, the cranial base also remodels due to dimensional growth
changes in the temporal lobes of the cerebrum and the middle cranial fossa. Resorption on the
endocranial side ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both are counterparts of the pharyngeal space. The middle cranial floor and the pharyngeal space are
connected by the skeletal structure of the ramus in order to place the mandibular arch in proper
anatomic position with the maxilla. This makes the antero posterior position of the ramus an essential
component for the balanced position of the craniofacial structures. Thus the previous forward growth
of the maxilla is now matched by the mandibular protrusion. The molars once again return to a dental
Class I position, and the upper anteriors no longer have an

Cory Arnold Research Paper
Hi there! I m Cory Arnold, an English teacher in his fifth year in Japan with four years of experience
teaching at junior high and elementary schools in Japan. My first year was as an exchange student at
Kandai Gaidai in Osaka, where I studied language with Japanese students. That caused my interest in
studying Japanese language to expand to linguistics and foreign language in a broader sense, leading
me to become an English teacher. Primarily working at junior high school, much of my work is
focused on instructing proper English grammar, spelling and pronunciation. Along with speech contest
coaching, I make and grade worksheets, tests, and activities to practice all four aspects of language
(reading, writing, speaking, listening).

The Glass Roses Analysis
Destiny is like clay which has the potential to form any shapes as the artist s wish. In order to forge a
desired destiny, there are certain factors that need to be taken account of. For instance, the ideology an
individual acquires from the community he or she lives in directs one s perspective, therefore, impact
the ability in decision making which will affect a person s fate. In regards to the decisions one makes
in their lives, it is dependent on individual experiences people undergo during their youth. In the short
story of The Glass Roses by Alden Nowlan, the author explores through the protagonist Stephen that,

Considering that Stephen is surrounded by men with ox like shoulders and spoke only when they
made their bids during a card game, his obsession in gender stereotypical belief isn t much of a
surprise. Especially since, Stephen s father is the leader of the crew and Stephen s role model who he
craves attention from, becoming a woodcutter seems to be the sole path he can choose. However, with
the guide from his friend and mentor Leka, this fifteen year old boy still has the possibility to change
his future. Similar to Stephen, Leka is a unique person. Though, he has been through the war like the
rest of people, Leka never turns himself away from finding beauty even when there is not much room
in the world for glass roses . His optimistic worldview inspires Stephen to discover what he truly
longs for; hence, opening a new path for him. The more stories Stephen has heard from Leka, the
more he could not think of himself as a woodsman. Still, whenever he does a childish act or notices an
unmanly behavior from his friend, Stephen often steps back into his nurture

Modern Day Iraq And Kuwait
People often complain about having to acknowledge religious practices, whether it be going to a
religious gathering every week or interrupting their busy schedule to observe daily rituals. Most
commonly, these people are monotheistic. Now, imagine having not one, but thousands of gods to
appease. That s quite a lot of worshipping to do, right? Well, it was a reality for many people for
centuries in the Mesopotamian area (most of modern day Iraq and Kuwait.) The ancient
Mesopotamian religion had over 2,000 gods, but only one was at the head of them all. Well, three.
Maybe four depending on who you ask. Mesopotamian religion lasted centuries, and during those
times the circumstances changed. The flux in power between city states led to a ... Show more content

The sky would be the largest and most magnificent forces of nature the Mesopotamian people had

strength; two virtues that would be valued in a progenitor god. Thorkild Jacobsen ties these two
symbols together with an apt comparison between the tremendous thunderclouds and the bull. The
thunderclouds size are reminiscent of the bull s strength, and their thunder calls to mind the bellows of
the bull. An s symbols also work together to show off his main role in the Mesopotamian mythos: the
divine progenitor. Kathryn Stevens points out that many deities are described as his children in one
context or another. An not only creates many gods and other spirits, but also engendered trees, reeds,
and all other vegetation, (Jacobsen 95.) This makes sense considering An s relation to the sky, whose
life giving rains bring about plant life. An s other role is a natural extension of his first. As the father
of the gods, he is also the highest authority in heaven and earth. In the Sumerian poem Inanah and
Ebih, his authority amongst the gods is fully displayed when Inana says An has made me terrifying

heavens. An s word is law. Well, it is until the next deity comes into the picture. The second supreme

Principles of Choosing a Null Hypothesis
In the earlier post about bioequivalence, I briefly mentioned the formulation of hypotheses for testing
bioequivalence. The null hypothesis states Bio inequivalence , while the alternative states
Bioequivalence , as formulation (I).
H0: bio inequivalence; Ha: bioequivalence (I)
One might argue that the null and alternative hypotheses are incorrectly reversed, since what we
generally do is to put statements like no difference , no effect , equivalent , or equal to 175 lbs as null
hypotheses. Is this argument correct? To answer this question, we need to answer the simple yet
fundamental question: how are the hypotheses established.
Let s first be clear of what a null hypothesis is. According to Wikipedia, as quoted below.
In statistical inference of observed data of a scientific experiment, the null hypothesis refers to a
general or default position: that there is no relationship between two measured phenomena,[1] or that
a potential medical treatment has no effect.[2] Rejecting or disproving the null hypothesis and thus
concluding that there are grounds for believing that there is a relationship between two phenomena or
that a potential treatment has a measurable effect is a central task in the modern practice of science,
and gives a precise sense in which a claim is capable of being proven false.
The definition gives several clues to choosing a null hypothesis. I try to summarize the rules of
choosing a null hypothesis as the three following

Seven is now the type of girl that if you say one thing wrong or out of place she will give you a death

Five stabbed Eight trying to get to Nine. When Eight was killed Seven felt like a part of her was

out with an icicle. In this moment of loss Seven has seemed to have gained the new legacy of

never clearly explained what she can all do with this new found power, but one thing is clear, she is no

Seven confronts a man at a local bar who is hitting on her: Marina roughly snatches his wrist. I can

somebody is now hitting on her. I also can relate her in this way because of how she feels after these

Being a young carer for someone who has a physical disability can be very overwhelming so it is
important that the young carers needs are being met. Taking a break from caring such as going away
on holiday, this would be the time for the young carer to relax and just look after themselves for a
short period of time, not worrying about no one but themselves.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle is extremely important for a young carer as they tend to forget about
their own health because they are focused on the person they are caring for. Ways the young carer
could maintain a healthy lifestyle is, making sure they have a balanced diet, making sure they do some
form of exercise for 30 minutes a day and to even attend screenings every once in a while at their local
doctors to make sure there isn t any medical problems to be addressed.
Having a social life is definitely something what a young carer should fit into their lifestyle. A social
life can consist of going out for meals, meeting up with a group of friends, going out doing fun

The Resistance Workers Of France
For the Resistance workers of France, gender had a defining impact on the roles and jobs open to
women where they were both utilized and supported. They played a key role in the Resistance of
Vichy France from a scattering of leadership roles, to support roles, to secretarial and liaison work.
These women were galvanized and motivated for different reasons: for the political, to moral, to
patriotic or for the desire to do something. Even women beyond the network of the official groups of
Resistance worked to shelter, protect and support Allies, their communities and Resistance efforts.
Thousands of Women during the war, in the Resistance or not, followed and manipulated the
stereotypes and limitations of women in the era to better service their goals. However these womanly
standards curbed which positions they could fill and what respect they received. In prewar France, the
stereotypical women were the homemakers of the family. Though many were formally educated, few
professional jobs were open to them. After the France s physical and morale collapse in the first
months of World War II, the government propaganda proclaimed a new form of masculinity. A society
built on a foundation of family, gender and biological distinct roles with a male dominated hierarchy.

a wall along the border surrounding a country or state, although the complications that encompass it

time it s main use is to maintain illegal immigration. The leading Republican Presidential candidate

that he plans on forcing Mexico to fund said wall. It goes without saying that there is a vast amount of

from cost, there are other issues at hand. The sad reality is that the border region is still viewed as a

The Importance Of Regulations And Actions In Business
There are tаx regulations and actions to mitigate aggressive tаx planning and tаx avoidance. The aim
is to align the tаx paid with the real economic activities reducing the tаx loss suffered by tаx
authorities in the countries where the economic activities are done.
The relevant tаx regulations and actions, especially for multinational companies, will be discussed in
this chapter.
5.1. Debt shifting and thin capitalisation regulations.
5.1.1. Thin capitalisation rules

Therefore, rules limiting the amount of interest that can be deducted in the calculation of a company s

Unlike the earning stripping rules, Germany dropped the use of safe harbor. In 2008, the average safe
harbour ratio of internal debt to equity in EU countries was 3.4:1 (Ruf and Schindler, 2012).
The application of TC rules is expected to limit international debt shifting and decrease the debt to
asset ratio of domestic affiliates of multinationals. However, these benefits come at a cost of reduction
in domestic investment, because TC rules increase the domestic cost of capital and negatively affect a
country s position in competing internationally for mobile capital. It implies that the decrease in debt
to asset ratio will increase the tаx revenue, but the reduced investment will eventually have a negative
effect on the tаx revenue (Ruff and Schindler, 2012).
5.1.2. Controlled Foreign Company Rules
A potential alternative is CFC rules mentioned by Ruf and Schindler (2012). The rules prevent the
application of the tаx exemption rule as passive income is immediately being included in the corporate
tаx base of the multinational s headquarters if the income is generated from non productive activities
and the multinational has an ownership of at least 50 percent. Thus, if CFC rules are applicable,
passive income will be tаxed at headquarter corporate tаx rate regardless the location of the income is
effectively accrued.

How Do I Explain Behaviour.
Lecture How do we explain behavior
Behaviour generally refers to actions or reactions (an activity or response of some kind) of an object
or organism usually in relation to the environment or surrounding world of stimuli. Behaviour can be
conscious or unconscious, overt or covert, voluntary or involuntary, sometimes it can be common,
unusual, acceptable, or outside acceptable limits. The acceptability of behavior is evaluated relative to
social norms and regulated by various means of social control.
Insight into human behavior comes from both scientific and non scientific investigations. The
knowledge obtained through the senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell) and experiences is non
scientific. The knowledge acquired through this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Political scientists study international relationships, the workings of government, and the exercise of
power and authority.
Psychologists investigate personality and individual behaviour.
Sociologists focus on the influence society has on people s attitudes and behaviour and the ways in
which people shape society. They scientifically examine human social relationships.
PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR
Psychology is an academic and applied field that is often defined as the scientific study of mental
processes and behavior. Psychologists want to understand every aspect of behavior (humans and
organisms) therefore they explore the unknown world of nature through the use of scientific methods
which eliminate bias and opinion and provide convincing evidence.
Other methods of obtaining knowledge such as intuitions and personal experiences, logical deductions
and common sense or pronouncements of authority figures are not accepted by scientists. These
sources of knowledge rely on opinions or beliefs that others may disagree with, or may be created by
someone who is biased or wrong. The scientific study of psychology is especially geared towards
learning about an organism s behavior by observing and studying that behaviour, while minimizing the
influences of bias or opinion.
Psychology differs from sociology, anthropology, economics, and political science in part because it
involves studying the mental processes and behavior of individuals (alone or in

World Gains From Optimism
What the world gains from Optimism:
Usually, when you think of an optimist, you might think of a bright cheery person wearing bright
happy colors skipping happily down a sidewalk, right? And while that sounds like a wonderful way to
live, that s not quite how optimism always looks. (But hey, if it works for you, be my guest!)
Optimism is often overlooked and misunderstood in today s society. We really have no idea how
beneficial the effects of optimism are for us. From healthier hearts to even living longer, optimism
sure is a helpful tool that s easily accessible and makes the journey of life a lot more fun!
Optimism shockingly, has a direct correlation to physical health as seen in many researches conducted
by multiple people. A healthier ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education, gender, etc. had a
smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national factors like GDP and life expectancy didn
t really have an impact on optimism at all. So really no matter how harsh the circumstances, we all can
be positive.
Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps suggest that
directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our frontal cortex communicating
with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal cortex, a large area behind the forehead, is the
most recently evolved part of the brain. It is larger in humans than in other primates and is critical for
many complex human functions such as language and goal setting. We just have to use that frontal
cortex and decide to choose the positive route.
So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking. From heart health,
boosted immune systems, and longer lives optimism can do it all for us. Lots of people in our society
don t always adapt to this system because of older primal habit, but as proven, anyone can change to
the positive side as long as their willing. So are you ready to smile nonstop, wear bright clothes, and
skip everywhere? Let s be

On September 1, 2005 Janet was sadly murdered which caused the life insurance company to pay out the beneficiary who in our case is Janet s husband, Craig. Although the contract should have been paid out in full upon Janet s death, the insurance company is refusing to pay out the policy. When Janet applied for life insurance in 2003 she when through an extensive application form which is typical for all life insurance contracts. On this form she was asked about her health specifically if she had been operated on or been hospitalized in the last ten years. Along with that and many other things Janet was asked if she had any lung disorders. She replied to both of these questions with no when in fact she had been in the hospital several times in the last ten years and had a lung disorder. She suffers from recurrent chest pains and abdominal pains. She has also been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism. For these two reason and more the life insurance company is refusing to payout the policy to Craig. A normal case of life insurance is paid out upon the death of the person insured but in this circumstance the payment is being withheld. The main legal issue in this case is can the life insurance company withhold payment of the insured amount. On that another hand does Craig, the beneficiary of the life insurance, have the right to receive or to be owed the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Results for c: ht=500/ spd=25000mph too fast! Satellite left viewing area and took off in space somewhere! I was determined to get a 100%, so I played around with the numbers until I found that at 500 miles above the Earth, the satellite would have to be launched at 16,700mph in order to reach a perfect orbit. Below is the explanation of why: Although the satellite is always falling towards the earth, because of gravity, the right combination of height and speed causes the satellite to fall as much as the earth curves, so the satellite never crashes 2. The asteroid that is travelling at constant speed would not be accelerating, since constant speed is continuous motion with no acceleration. 8. Gravity is the force that is keeping the asteroid in orbit around the sun. The force of gravity will pull the asteroid inward, but because the asteroid is constantly moving forward it is sort of a constant state of perfectly balanced tug of war. 9. 1) Sun 2)Jupiter 3) Mars 4)Other Asteroids The reason for these rankings is because although the Asteroid belt is located between Jupiter and Mars, ALL of the other objects in these ranks are orbiting around the Sun... Jupiter s gravitational pull will cause an asteroid to collide with another asteroid, however, so you could say that Jupiter s influence is stronger than Mars, and if other asteroids collide with an asteroid, it will change the mass of the asteroid itself by breaking it apart only to be pulled in again by Mars or Jupiter (and overall, the Sun). 10. They can legislate, oversee government activity, allocate financial resources and, as leaders within their nations and communities, raise awareness of issues and provide advocacy. Historic Perspective The end of the 19th century saw a raising concern with the cruelty inflicted to children by their guardians, that was expressed in the public campaigns carried out by the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children . Is this an issue of a lack of English skills or are there other mechanisms at play that need to be considered? For instance, differences in culture could preclude some people from participating and some may be reluctant to participate due to unethical survey research they may have dealt with in the past. Learning communities in US higher education are very diverse and each group, including international students, deserves recognition and inclusion (Petrovich Lowe, 2005). However, it is problematic to address issues when one cannot get enough participants to warrant attention from those in decision making roles. Therefore, determining if there are differences in participation based on demographic information as well as overall reluctance to participate should be explored to improve the quality and quantity of data that is collected from international students. In the essay Chopin s The Awakening by Roger Platizky, the author interpreted from the novel that the depression of Edna Pontellier, the main feminine lead, is created not only from the male oppression of the time period, but is also derived from the idea that Edna is affected by a previous encounter with sexual violence, either as a witness or a victim. While there is some way to infer that this is true, it is not confirmed and is quite a reach, considering her life now and willingness with men. The reason that some readers believe this is due to her mood changes, boundary problems and suicide (Platizky, Roger). If Edna was a victim or witness to sexual violence, she would be even more submissive and fragile as a character. This theory is untrue, however, because throughout the novel Edna Pontellier displays a growing strength that is presented to the men in her life and finally gains her the independence she has been desiring, even if it isn t in the most predictable way. In the essay, Chopin s The Awakening, Platizky writes that while one could argue she was just shy or introverted, Edna s sweeping passions later in the novel suggest the introversion may have been imposed. (Platizky, Roger). While this is true that Edna has sweeping passions later in the novel, it is not correlated to Edna wanting to block something from her memory, such as sexual violence. While someone could insist that Edna s mood swings are suggesting the protagonist is trying to block something more than just her realization that she is unhappy in her present marriage (Platizky), that information is extremely faulty. Instead, Edna s mood swings deal with the oppression of the patriarchal society that women were thrown into during this time period. Each woman was supposed to lack individuality and obey the men, especially in the Creole Catholic society. Edna s lack of cooperation towards this norm shows up often in The Awakening. She could not at that moment have done other than denied and resisted. She wondered if her husband had ever spoken to her like that before, and is she has submitted ... • 11. Abolition Of The Death Penalty Abolition of the Death Penalty Capital Punishment, otherwise known as the death penalty, first dates back to the English Colonies in the 1600s. The people of this time adopted this tradition to punish people who had committed crimes of murder, treason, theft, robbery, rape, or other horrible offenses. In 1776, people already began to see the inefficiency of the death penalty. Benjamin Rush, a physician and signer of the Declaration of Independence, stated that the punishment of murder by death is contrary to reason and to the order and happiness of society. Rush believed that the death penalty should only be a product of England, and that America should not condone premeditated killing by the government, but rather leave that practice in England. In 1794, the state of Pennsylvania began to promote the idea of restricting capital punishment. Soon after, other states followed Pennsylvania s lead and either reduced the number of capital crimes or got rid of capital punishment all together. By 1846, the state of Michigan was the first state in the United States to outlaw the death penalty. After Michigan s implementation of the new law, other northern states, such as Rhode Island and Wisconsin, outlawed it as well. However, states in the South kept the death Penalty for a variety of reasons. One of the most important reasons it was kept in the South was because of the high crime rate and slavery. • 15. Gdp And Total Expenditure On Purchasing A New Houses Essay 1. GDP is the monetary value allocated to all goods and services produced within a given country. This excludes the net income accruing from abroad. GDP can be measured using the total expenditure approach for calculating National Income as a summation of total expenditure on commodities produced in a given economy. Any expenditure on purchasing a new houses is excluded. The final consumption of the government is also included together with all current expenditure. Their expenditure on fixed assets is also included. The value of the physical increase in inventories during the course if the year is also included. The summation of all these components is the Total Domestic Expenditure, TDE. Adding up expenditure on export to the TDE determines the Total Final Expenditure. Subtracting all expenditure on imports from this total results to a measure known as the GDP at market rate. Subtracting taxes on expenditure levied by the government and adding back the total amount of subsidy leads to the arrival at a figure known as GDP at factor cost. National income is however affected by interest, rent and profit accruing from abroad and the net of the property income from abroad ought to be added to the GDP. This leads to the arrival at the GDP at factor cost. GDP can also be arrived at by using factor incomes in the computation of National Income. Pathogenic bacteria grows rapidly in temperatures above 4.4°C (40°F). This type of bacteria does not affect the smell, taste, or appearance of the food, making it difficult to determine whether or not the pathogens are present. By refrigerating foods at the correct temperature, you are eliminating the chances of these harmful pathogens growing in your food and contaminating them. For example, if you accidentally left a jug of milk on the counter overnight it would become warm and develop a rancid odor. If you were to drink it, the chances of you getting a foodborne illness would be high considering that the harmful pathogens had time to grow. • 22. Maxiella Case Study As the maxilla develops in the region posterior to the maxillary tuberosity, the anterior cranial fossa, the palate, and the body of the mandible also has to follow the growth pattern of maxilla and increase in length.21 The mandible follows this growth pattern by remodeling the anterior part of the ramus posteriorly, leaving an offset relationship between the upper and lower arches with the maxilla more forward than the mandible (Class II type relationship).19,21 To keep pace with the anteriorly forwarding maxillary growth, the distal portion of the ramus starts remodeling. Ramus resorbs anteriorly while the posterior portion remodels, thus maintaining the same width of the ramus and at the same time relocating it more posteriorly to allow for increase in length of the body of the mandible and achieve the perfect positioning of the mandible with the maxilla returning to a Class I position of the teeth. The upward and backward repositioning of the ramus occurs to increase the length of vertical dimension and to provide horizontal expansion of the mandible with a further descent of the mandibular arch and occlusal separation. Is this argument correct? To answer this question, we need to answer the simple yet fundamental question: how are the hypotheses established. Let s first be clear of what a null hypothesis is. According to Wikipedia, as quoted below. In statistical inference of observed data of a scientific experiment, the null hypothesis refers to a general or default position: that there is no relationship between two measured phenomena,[1] or that a potential medical treatment has no effect.[2] Rejecting or disproving the null hypothesis and thus concluding that there are grounds for believing that there is a relationship between two phenomena or that a potential treatment has a measurable effect is a central task in the modern practice of science, and gives a precise sense in which a claim is capable of being proven false. These women were galvanized and motivated for different reasons: for the political, to moral, to patriotic or for the desire to do something. Even women beyond the network of the official groups of Resistance worked to shelter, protect and support Allies, their communities and Resistance efforts. Thousands of Women during the war, in the Resistance or not, followed and manipulated the stereotypes and limitations of women in the era to better service their goals. In 2008, the average safe harbour ratio of internal debt to equity in EU countries was 3.4:1 (Ruf and Schindler, 2012). The application of TC rules is expected to limit international debt shifting and decrease the debt to asset ratio of domestic affiliates of multinationals. However, these benefits come at a cost of reduction in domestic investment, because TC rules increase the domestic cost of capital and negatively affect a country s position in competing internationally for mobile capital. It implies that the decrease in debt to asset ratio will increase the tаx revenue, but the reduced investment will eventually have a negative effect on the tаx revenue (Ruff and Schindler, 2012). 5.1.2. Controlled Foreign Company Rules A potential alternative is CFC rules mentioned by Ruf and Schindler (2012). The rules prevent the application of the tаx exemption rule as passive income is immediately being included in the corporate tаx base of the multinational s headquarters if the income is generated from non productive activities and the multinational has an ownership of at least 50 percent. PSYCHOLOGY AND BEHAVIOUR Psychology is an academic and applied field that is often defined as the scientific study of mental processes and behavior. Psychologists want to understand every aspect of behavior (humans and organisms) therefore they explore the unknown world of nature through the use of scientific methods which eliminate bias and opinion and provide convincing evidence. Other methods of obtaining knowledge such as intuitions and personal experiences, logical deductions and common sense or pronouncements of authority figures are not accepted by scientists. These sources of knowledge rely on opinions or beliefs that others may disagree with, or may be created by someone who is biased or wrong. Researchers actually found that individual factors like age, income level, education, gender, etc. had a smaller than expected impact on optimism, and that national factors like GDP and life expectancy didn t really have an impact on optimism at all. So really no matter how harsh the circumstances, we all can be positive. Findings from a study conducted a few years ago by neuroscientist Elizabeth Phelps suggest that directing our thoughts of the future toward the positive is a result of our frontal cortex communicating with subcortical regions deep in our brain. The frontal cortex, a large area behind the forehead, is the most recently evolved part of the brain. It is larger in humans than in other primates and is critical for many complex human functions such as language and goal setting. We just have to use that frontal cortex and decide to choose the positive route. So now we know how beneficial it is for us to use that daily optimistic thinking.
