Educational Measurement refers to
the use of educational assessments
and the analysis of data such as
scores obtained from educational
assessments to infer the abilities and
proficiencies of students.

The following are the characteristics of a good
measuring tool:
a)Validity
b)Reliability
c)Measurability
d)Practicability
e)Objectivity

4. a) VALIDITY:
Validity is the extent to which a
test measures what it claims to
measure.

5. b) RELIABILITY:
It is the consistency of measurement, or the degree to
which an instrument measures the same way each time it is
used under the same condition with the same subjects.

6. C)
PRACTICABILITY:
• Ease to administer,
score, interpret, and apply,
•low cost, etc.

7. d) MEASURABILITY:
It should measure the objectives to be
achieved.

8. e) OBJECTIVITY:
The degree to which a test’s
results are obtained the same
by scoring different scores
without influences of their
biases or beliefs on scoring is
known as objectivity.
