ADJECTIVES 
THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW 
• In Spanish, adjectives have masculine and feminine forms.. 
• Mascule adjectives usually end in the letter o 
• Feminine adjectives usually end in the letter a. 
• Adjectives that end in “e” describe both masculine and feminine nouns. 
• Adjectives that end in –or, have a masculine form that ends in –ora. 
• Some adjectives that end in “a” can be masculine and feminine.

DEFINITE AND INDEFINITE ARTICLES 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
• El and La, are the definite articles in Spanish. Equivalent to “the” in English. 
• El is used for masculine nouns; La is used for feminine nouns. 
• Un and Una are the indefinite articles. Equivalent to “a” in English. 
• Un is used for masculine nouns; Una is used for feminine nouns.
ACTIVIDAD: 
• Write the word EL in large letters on a sheet of paper. Write 
LA on the back. 
• You will hear eight words you already know. When you hear 
a masculine word, hold up the paper with EL. When you 
hear a feminine word, hold up the paper with the word LA.

ORDER OF ADJECTIVES 
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW 
• In Spanish, adjectives usually come after the noun they describe. 
• This is different than English. 
Example: 
Margarita es una chica muy artística. 
Pablo es un estudiante inteligente.

Rewrite the sentences in the correct order
