3. Every time the computer is switched on , a
essential part of OS is brought into the
main memory from the hard disk. This
essential part is called monitor program.
So the booting can be defined as the
procedure of bringing the monitor to the
main memory and executing it.

5. The monitor displays as an interface which
can be used by the user to work with the
computer system.
This interface can be used to run the
application or utility programs.

6. Cold booting:-
When the computer is switched on ,the
procedure of bringing a copy of Boot into
the main memory is performed.
Warm booting:-
when reset button is pressed, the
computer reinitializes its components and
loads a copy of boot in the main memory.

7. Switch on the system.
ROM-BIOS perform the POST(power on
self test) to check whether the machine is
working correctly or not.
After initalization the Bios search for the
IO.SYS file.
IO.SYS is loaded.
IO.SYS file reads the file called
MSDOS.sys

8. IO.SYS loads the command processor i.e.
COMMOND.COM of Windows 95.
The COMMOND.COM reads the contents
of AUTOEXEC.BAT.
The 3 16-bit components are loaded.
THE 16-bit kernel loads the application
called VWin32-386.
The 32-bit drivers are loaded.
The user provides the username and
password or simply clicks cancel.

9. CPU-central processing unit:-
when it I switched on it produces an
address of location in the rom.
ROM-read only memory:-
The contents in this memory are
permanent and do not change or vanish
even after the computer is switched on.
RAM-it is a volatile memory , the memory
is read-write as compared to ROM.
