4. Cell Membrane
Also called the plasma

The cell wall is part of

Centrioles help with cell
division; which is when
one cell splits into two.
They are not found in
most fungi cells.

7. Chloroplasts
Chloroplasts are
organelles only found in
plant cells. They absorb
light and make sugar.

8. Cytoplasm
Cytoplasm is a semi-
liquid substance. It

and contains organelles;

9. Golgi Body
Also known as the Golgi
apparatus, or the Golgi
complex, the Golgi body
packages and processes
proteins. It is an
organelle.

10. Large Sap-Filled Vacuole
Vacuoles are a type of
vesicle. They hold water
in plant cells. They also
keep the cell upright
with hydrostatic

11. Mitochondria
Mitochondria are
organelles that convert
glucose into energy for
cells to use by oxidising
it. This process is called
cellular respiration.

12. Nucleus
The nucleus is the cell’s
control centre. It
controls the activities of
the cell, and contains its
DNA. In its centre is the
nucleolus, where

13. Ribosomes
A ribosome is the most
important organelle of a
cell. It makes protein.

14. Rough Endoplasmic
Reticulum
The rough endoplasmic
reticulum is a network
used to transport
molecules to specific
places in a cell. It is
called ‘rough’, because
it is studded with
ribosomes. It then feeds
protein into the smooth

15. Smooth Endoplasmic
Reticulum
The smooth endoplasmic
reticulum laid out like a
network. receives
protein from the rough
endoplasmic reticulum.
It then metabolises

16. Vesicles
Vesicles are bubbles of
water within a cell. They
can fuse with other
organelles, as well as
the cell membrane,
where it can release the
substances it is carrying
outside of the cell.
