Celador is an entertainment company founded in 1983 by Paul Smith and Jasper Corrott that has produced many successful television shows and films. Most notably, they produced the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?" and the film "Slumdog Millionaire," which won eight Oscars. Celador operates by taking projects one at a time and contracting freelance staff as needed. While it started as an independent company, it was later acquired by other companies before buying itself back. Its main competitors are larger studios like Sony but it has found success making profitable films with modest budgets.
