 Vertigo Films are a successful British film and distribution company
that has produced 28 films and distributed 35 films. They aim to
produce and distribute 4 films each year. Founded by Allan Niblo and
James Richardson, Vertigo Films range between a wide genre of
films such as the successful StreetDance3D and The Football
Factory. They have also produced films such as Monsters, which is a
multi award winning film as well as Horrid Henry which was
extremely popular for families. Vertigo Films is perhaps our most
reasonable distribution company we would want to work with
because of it’s previous and current success.
 Street Dance3D was released in 2010 and starred Britain Got Talent
stars such as dance group Diversity, George Sampson and Flawless.
The sound track included well established British artists such as
Chipmunk, Tinie Tempah and N-Dubz. It had a £3.5m budget and
produced £11m in the box office. The success of this caused Street
Dance 2 to occur in 2012.
 Another Vertigo Film is Monsters which was released in 2010 with a
budget of less than £500,000. With such a low budget it managed to
produced a staggering $4.2m in the box office. It was directed and
written by Gareth Edwards and due to the success of the film, the
sequel was released in May 2015.

 Specialising in distributing, financing, development and
production of Independent feature films, Independent Films
has produced successful films such as We Need To Talk
About Kevin which was released in 2011. CEO owner Luc
Roeg provides the company with 20 years of experience
with motivated professionals that are advanced in project
development, production, finance, distribution and sales and
marketing. Saying this, it will be unlikely for Independent
films to cooperate with us.
 We Need To Talk About Kevin was produced by Jennifer Fox
and was released in 2011 after ongoing work of the film
since 2005. Regardless of it being a well established film, it
had a $7m budget and produced only $9.2m in the box
office.
Another film by Independent is The Falling, which was directed
by Carol Morley. Releasing in 2014, The Falling had a
$750,000 budget and produced an awful £468,762 in the
box office.

4. Hammer Films
 My ideal distributor for my film ‘Bird Call’ would be Hammer Film
Productions as they are an English based production company
that specifically produces horror films. A lot of their success
however has been due to partnering with Warner Bros, which
gave Hammer Films reasonable financial success. Hammer Films
Productions was discovered in 1934 and have distributed classic
horror films such as the Frankenstein and Dracula films produced.
We would want to join Hammer Films due to it’s recent transition,
producing films such as The Women in Black. Hammer Films in
the past were famous for their gothic horror films in the period of
1950 to the 1970’s. However, this success dropped when in the
late 1970’s the genre of horror films developed and changed. In
May 2007 Hammer Films were reborn and re-established as the
company were bought by John De Mol who founded Production
Company Endemol and Talpa Media. This decision to buy the
company revived the company as it went on to produce films such
as Let Me In, The Resident, and The Women In Black. The
Women In Black made $127,730,736 worldwide and became the
highest grossing British horror film in 20 years. This recent lift of
success from the company has persuaded us to want Hammer
Films to distribute our films, as we have a British Horror film that
could make a huge income if they can provide us with distribution.
