2. Destiny’s Child- Destiny Fulfilled
The CD packaging used
for Destiny’s Child
shows a close up of the
groups face. As there is
not much going on
within the picture, the
focus is solely on the
group. The black
background asserts all
the attention is on the
artists showing the
simplicity of their music.
As they are seen with minimal makeup,
this shows that the music within this
album is laidback, showing their ‘real’ side
and are not holding back on anything.
The white writing at the top shows
the groups name. The chosen
colour for this is white as their
name stands out from the black
background this helps the artists as
not only does their name stand out
for the audience to see, but
simultaneously, their faces will
stand out showing the audience
who they are.The title of the album ‘Destiny Fulfilled’ shows the audience that this
album is their final one as there is nothing else that they need to
achieve together. This also shows the purpose of their group name as
it shows that this career was in their destiny.

3. Kehlani- Sweet, Sexy, Savage
The main colours within this
CD packaging, are pinks,
purple and orange. The almost
ombre effect within this picture
creates a mystical feeling as it
is set as the sky with clouds
everywhere. The lighter
colours at the bottom and
darker at the top shows the
contrast of emotions which
allows us to understand that
within this album we will hear
a mixture of songs for different
purposes.
The orange in the middle which
appears directly behind the artist
may represent the sun coming
out showing the purpose for this
album is to be able to feel better
about ourselves no matter what
we have been through.
The artist is situated in the middle which makes everything within the picture centre
around her. As she is shown with her tattoos and short black hair, this makes her
stand out from everything that is visible in the picture. Furthermore, due to her being
nude and her tattoos are showing this shows her unique image

4. Kanye West- Yeezus
For this CD packing, the
design iis simple as it
shows a CD with many
different colours reflecting
from the CD. The red note
stuck to the CD is labled
‘Yeezus’ which is the name
of the album. This shows
the simplicity of this album
showing that it is raw.
This also shows that the purpose
of this album is to send a
message rather than making hits.
The CD being the main object
within this packaging, shows this
album is revolved around what he
will rap about showing the
importance of his music.
As he is not in the picture shows that
the purpose of the album is to listen and
focus to the songs and lyrics rather that
himself.
The name of this packaging is
play on word of ‘Jesus’ which
shows that this album holds a
lot of importance and sets a
high expectation for the
audience which sparks curiosity
for this album.

5. Chris Brown- Royalty
Within this CD packaging the
only colours we see are
white, black and grey. This
may have been used to
capture the consumers only
by the name and the picture.
As he is seen shirtless with his
child in his arm shows that he
does not find anything else
important other that his child.
This also shows that the album
is stripped back and focuses on
what is important. As he is seen
holding her closely, this shows
that she is his only focus hence
why he is not facing towards
the camera.
The only accessories that the
artist has is a watch, earring
and a chain around his
necklace. This reminds us of his
image and mixture of hip hop
and pop merged together within
his songs. The name of the album is ‘Royalty’ which is the name of his daughter showing
that his music and therefore his life is based around his daughter. As the
name is in white this represents the purity and innocence that she has as a
baby.

6. Rihanna- Unapologetic
Within this CD packaging, the
artist poses in the middle of
the picture in front of a white
background. Due to this, she is
the main attention as her body
is the only focus. The graffiti
like writing that is on her body
makes the audience intrigued
by this form of art as it is
different to what others have
seen in CD packaging.
The artist is nude within this
picture which brings in a sex
appeal to which many artists
use. As the name of the album
is covering her chest, it is
where the consumers are
expected to see hence that this
the placement of the album
name. The black scribble
behind it allows people to
notice this and allows them to
understand what it is saying.
The title of the album is ‘unapologetic’ which shows that she is not sorry for being naked and shows no shame
in it. This purpose is to make women feel more confident and be unapologetically themselves. This also implies
that within the album she does not hold back what she wants to say and that her songs are ‘real’.
