Cause And Effect Obesity Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "Cause And Effect Obesity" poses a considerable challenge,
requiring a delicate balance between thorough research, nuanced understanding, and effective
communication. Tackling the multifaceted nature of obesity demands a comprehensive
exploration of its root causes, the intricate interplay of factors contributing to its prevalence, and
the far-reaching consequences on individual health and societal well-being.
The complexity of this topic necessitates a deep dive into the realms of biology, psychology,
sociology, and public health. A writer must navigate through a vast sea of data, studies, and
expert opinions to distill relevant and compelling information. Analyzing the cause-and-effect
relationships demands an acute awareness of the intricate web of variables influencing obesity,
ranging from genetic predispositions to environmental factors, lifestyle choices, and
socioeconomic conditions.
Moreover, presenting this information in a coherent and engaging manner requires not only a
firm grasp of the subject matter but also the ability to convey complex ideas in a manner
accessible to a diverse audience. Striking the right balance between data-driven insights and a
persuasive narrative is crucial to captivate readers and convey the gravity of the issue.
In addition to the intellectual demands, addressing the topic of obesity necessitates a sensitivity

Examples Of The Seven Deadly Sins In The Crucible
The Seven deadly sins are crimes which are considered offensive in the Christian
religion. Throughout the Crucible play, many of the characters showed examples of
the deadly sins. What are the roles the characters played of the Seven deadly sins
throughout the Crucible play?
In the play, Abigail Williams showed many examples of lust. Lust is the craving for
pleasures of the body, during the play Abigail did not hold back her feelings and
desires for John Proctor. Abigail was attracted to Proctor, even though she knew lust
is a sin. Abigail doesn t care and continues to go after what she wants without seeing
anything wrong with the affair.
Pride is the excessive belief in one s own abilities, which intervenes with the

Anger is manifested in the individual who spurns love and opts instead of fury. Anne
Putnam represented the sin of anger, Mrs. Putnam s seven out of eight babies died,
so she decides to call a witchery upon them. Mrs. Putnam believed somebody
murdered her children, so, she wants to get justice for her dead babies but, her
justice is basically just vengeance. Although, she claims to be deeply religious, her
actions shows she only believes in justice on earth and not as her Christian values
would have it in another realm. Anne Putman wants immediate satisfaction for her
dead babies.
Abigail Williams is envious towards Elizabeth Proctor. After having a secret affair,
John takes back his place to his wife instead of Abigail. After Proctor takes his wife
back,
Abigail begins accusing Elizabeth of witchcraft. She immediately wants Elizabeth
put to death so she can take the place with John Proctor. Proctor reveals Abigail s
true motivations, jealousy and desire, at great personal cost to himself. If had made
the revelation earlier, perhaps, it could have prevented the tragedy of the
My Family Based On My Life
My conflict is family based. It is about my elder sister s family. My elder sister
does not have a sound educational background but she is blessed to have gotten
married to a wealthy business tycoon and they are blessed with three children
namely; Nelly, Junior and Adolf. They are happily married but just like any other
marital home which has got its good and bad moments, theirs is not an exception. My
sister s husbandis so self centered, and He also have a greedy altitude. As a wealthy
business man He has managed to acquired fleets of luxurious cars for himself
(precisely about six cars) but unfortunately none of these cars belongs to his wife.
In addition to this, He is in possession of all the car keys and when ever the wife
wants to go to the market or on an errand, the wife must first of all informed him
then He will call the driver and gave him the key to one of the cars( the less
privilege car) and asked him to take his madam to the market or where ever she is
going. And my sister is never comfortable with this kind of altitude from the
husband but she will just keep her cool, and sometimes she let her husband to
understand that she is not comfortable with his altitude. But her husband finds it so
difficult to bend or to change from his ugly altitude. After some couple of months,
the husband went and bought one small lady s car for my sister and told her that the
car is meant for her to be using each time she wants to go to the market or on an
errand. But
Spatial Data Warehouse Case Study
Spatial Data Warehouse
Geographic Information System information makes up spatial data. Sharing spatial
information is necessary. The biggest drawback of spatial data warehouse surrounds
the data retrieval. Diverse ideas have been put forward on the correlation between
spatial objects and their directions. When modeling the directions of spatial data in
datasets, several steps are involved. The method of approximation of the spatial
objects is made. This is helpful in the determination of the best method to be used in
the analysis of the two spatial objects being correlated. The directions relations of the
spatial data are then determined (Chmiel et al, 2009). For proper analysis, the
directions should be complete and mutually exclusive. ... Show more content on

Directional relations are then drawn in relation to their intervals. MBR approximation
is preferred to point approximation because it uses the result from both objects.
Minimum Bounding Circle Approximation
In this technique, a circle surrounds the spatial data objects under study. Directions
relations among the objects are determined. The minimum bounding circletechnique
is rarely used (Chan, 1999).
Tilling Based Model
Lines are used to divide the planes into many tiles. Two methods are applied;
projection based model and cone shaped model. The projection based model involves
partitioning lines that run parallel to the axes of the coordinate system. The direction
relations are then determined. The cone shaped model on the other hand describes
direction using the angles (Malinow ZimГЎnyi 2007). Object Interaction matrix is a
strategy that uses Cardinal directions between objects. OIM solves a diverse of
problems created as a result of determining Cardinal directions in spatial data objects
like incorrect results. OIM can only be applied for spatial data objects (Malinowski
Zimany, 2004).
Moving Objects Data Warehouses
Due to the advancement that has been realized, the amount of data being generated
may be overwhelming. Many proposals on data warehouses can solve this problem
and handle the complex data. However, one challenge often occurs as a result of the
analysis. The terminology used by different companies in OLAP is
Refugees From The United States
Refugees in the United States go through the struggles of not being able to
communicate in an effective way because of the language barrier. This barrier
makes it harder on them to be able to get a job, attend school and success
academically. This also gives them the feeling of being the others, as well as a loss
of their dignity and culture. Although, refugees go through steps to be able to find a
place, where they can call home, but their struggles is what holding them from having
a good life and an easy life. Consequently, refugees have valuable characteristics, such
as: education, language, job, religion, health and owing a home. As a foreigner, their
struggle is exasperated since many of their valuable characteristics are now liabilities
in a different land compounded with new and daunting cultural differences. Refugees
have a multitude of steps to take in the resettlement process. The following steps,
explained by US Committee for Refugees and Immigrants. After leaving their home
country, the refugeeregisters with the United Nations High Commissioner for
Refugees(UNHCR). This agency makes sure that the individual qualifies as a refugee
under international law. Once qualified, one of several agencies can refer the refugee
to the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). The agencies that can refer
refugees to this program are the UNHCR, the Uniuted States Embassy or one of the
authorized non governmental organizations (NGO).
The next step is that the regional
Power Of Conflict
Conflict is a confrontation between two or more people who are trying to attain
different goals, however it is possible for both parties to have compatible goals, but
only perceive their goals to be incompatible. Conflict will then result in some kind of
tension between the parties, oftentimes due to each party perceiving some sort of
resource to be scarce. Conflictand resources are semi interdependent because the if
someone believes a specific resource to be scarce, they will engage in conflict with
another party whom they believe to possess that resource. Poweris something
intangible that someone holds that gives them authority over someone or something.
Power is present in every relationship; between friends it is usually equal, between...

Many people use their own resource currency to their advantage to manipulate
other people, for example by threatening to kick your child out of the house and
thus denying them shelter. On a much larger scale, resource currency has been the
cause of the majority of wars in our world s history. Reaching as far back as around
2700 BCE, King Gilgamesh of Uruk marched on his neighbors in an attempt to
procure cedarwood, a resource which he needed in order to build a temple. In
present day, many wars are fought specifically over the resource of oil, between
nations that have oil and the nations that want it. In fact, humans are by far not the
only species to initiate conflict because of resources. It is common knowledge that
animals across the world fight each other for food and water. Many animals even
hunt one another. However, there are more advanced examples of resource warfare in
the animal kingdom. Macaque monkeys, who largely reside in Asia and the Middle
East, live in tribes that have an inner hierarchy, similar to some human tribal societies.
Oftentimes, if one macaque tribe finds an area that would be beneficial to inhabit,
with plentiful food sources, but another macaque tribe is already inhabiting the area,
the two tribes will then engage in a turf war in which one
The Defendants Eugene Wong And Mary Wong
The Defendants Eugene Wong and Mary Wong had been hired to care for 3 month
old infant, Kwok Wei by the infant s parents, The Jiangs, due to heavy 12 hour per
day workdays. Because of their workload, the infant s parents felt 24 hour care was
needed for their child, and therefore responded to a newspaper ad for care
(advertised by the Defendants). Upon entering a legal, binding contract for care, The
Jiangs were told that DefendantMary Wong would be providing much of their baby s
care and that her husband, Eugene Wong, would also be tending to Kwok Wei s
needs as well. The agreement was that the infantwould sleep in a crib located directly
next to the Defendant s bed. The Defendants were to provide care in their one
bedroom apartment, located in Manhattan, New York (New York Times, 1993). On
the evening of July 3, 1988 The Jiangs visited their child for the first time (NY
Times). Four days later (July, 7, 1988) about 6:30 am, Defendant Mary Wong placed
a call to the infant s father to inform him that his baby could not be awaken and that
the baby was dead. At that time explained she that the baby had been crying the
previous night continuously from about 12 midnight until 2:00 am, the baby had
been given gripe water (a Chinese remedy), and eventually everyone went to sleep.
Defendant Mary Wong also stated that when she and her husband awoke the next
morning they found the baby unconscious and stated he had turned black . According

Hollywood Illusions In The Day of the Locust by Nathanael West, illusion verse
reality is one of the main themes of the novel. Hollywood is known for it s acting,
but the town and everyone that inhibit it seem to get carried away with trying to be
something they aren t. Nothing is really indigenous in Hollywood and everything is
borrowed from another place. The houses have been designed to look like Irish
cottages, Spanish villas, or Southern plantations while the characters often imagine
themselves as someone other than who they really are. Tod states, The fat lady in the
yachting cap was going shopping, not boating; the man in the Norfolk jacket and
Tyrolean hat was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
West s theme of illusion verse reality is shown with Faye always bouncing free to
continue in her fantasies, or Harry not knowing what he feels because clownishly
playing his disguised self, the Greeners show that for compulsive masqueraders little
authentic life is possible. Faye and Harry make the audience sympathetic for them.
They just seem so pathetic at times that it s hard to not feel bad for them. Tod,
Homer and many of Faye s other suitors, went along with her poor acting because she
was beautiful yet pathetic. West says, Raging at him, she was still beautiful. That
was because her beauty was structural like a tree s, not a quality of her mind or
heart (126). They all loved her for what they saw on the outside, not her stuck up
ways and wild stories. For all of the characters in West s novel, they are acting on an
every day basis without even realizing it. Harry acts in pain to get attention. He
pretends to need help from sympathetic people and then he tells them the crazy
stories of when he was famous. His illusions are then backed up by his strong beliefs
that he really was a good actor. If we look at Faye we see how she also has a very
strong and misconstrued idea of reality. She believes she will one day be famous
and in her everyday life, she acts like she already is. She bosses the men around,
has to be the center of attention, and uses people to pay for her and get her ahead.
Her daily acting and stage acting has become almost the same, as she makes
Why Is Social Media Good Or Bad
Have you ever had a good or bad experience with social media? Have you ever been
a part of a protest that was started on social media? I think that social media is a
good thing because you can have so much fun on it and even make friends on in.
Without that you would be limited to the kids in your neighborhood and in some
places there are not a lot of kids that you can make friends with or they do not live
close so you have to drive there. That is all fixed with social media. Like recently I
have found some friends on social media that I play games with. They are super
nice and without social media I would have never had that experience I would
have to play be myself all the time and have no one to talk to. But now I have the
chance to make friends and have fun with them even tho they live far away. Also
colleges and most jobs look at your social media account to see what kind of person
you are and if you are able to work so not only can you have fun but you can also
potentially make money from it and you can make friends. Things like Facebook are
so convenient to talk with friends or family without that we would need to call them
and that is just so much harder to do then... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But you can aways friend you child on Facebook to protect them. Even tho they
know what to do to be safe online and what to do if something bad hapens but the
odds of that happening is very small. Also people think that social media is a waste
of time but that is not true becuse you can learn so much online and find so many
cool and interesting things about things you did not even know existed. Also you
can buy things online so you do not have to go look for it in a store and have it not
be there which is a big waste of time. With the web you can buy things that you
know they have and it comes right to you. Al you have to do is wait for it to come to
your house and that is
Austim Spectrum Disorder
INTRODUCTION Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are a group of
neurodevelopmental disorders that have overlapping diagnostic criteria related to
deficits in communication, and restricted interests and repetitive behaviour, Duffy
and Healy ( as cited in Worley Matson, 2012). Recent studies in the United States
reported the diagnosis of an ASD in 1 out of 91 children of between age three to
seventeen years (Kogan et al., 2009) and 1 out of 110 children age eight years
(Rice, Baio, Van, Doernberg, Meaney Kirby, 2007). Idro, Newton, Kiguli and
Mwesige, (2010) found the prevalence of mental handicap, severe developmental
/cognitive delay or regress in East Africa to be 17.0% while general behaviour
problems was 3.9%. Jarbrink and Knapp (2001) note that ASDs requires
management throughout an individual s life, with no specific cure; this results in
high costs of interventions. This presents specific sets of challenges to caregivers
especially in resource strained settings. Several studies have shown that parents of
children with developmental disabilities experience heightened stress (Blacher, 1984;
Schieve, Blumberg, Rice, Visser and Boyle, 2007), impaired mental health (Weiss,
1991), a sense of devaluation and self blame (Holroyd, Brown, Wikler Simmons,
1975), and impaired physical functioning, tiredness and exhaustion (Hedov, Anneren
Wikblad, 2000; Emerson, 2003). While acknowledging the changing gender roles,

How Russian Bots and Trolls invade our Lives and Elections all share the common
thread, or theme of repurposing one thing or idea in order to serve a different
purpose. For instance, Adam , a bronze statue, is meant to display the tortured nature
of human existence. In order to convey this, Rodin alluded to two of Michelangelo s
works, The Creation of Adam, the Sistine Chapel fresco in the Vatican and the Dead
Christ of the PietГ in the Cathedral of Florence. The right arm of the sculpture
borrows its position from the Creation of Adam, symbolizing birth, and the left takes

The Revolutionary Revolution And The Revolution
As Mao s political enemies were purged, he soon started to build the new type of
government and reconstruct the orders in the nation. First, he believed that only
by using a triple alliance of cadres, revolutionary organizations and the army, which
represented the most significant three parts in the revolution, could China go back
to the right track. In order to consolidate this alliance, Maoist leaders declared that
a revolutionary committee was necessary and the only way to reorganize the
political power (Meisner, 331). However, the revolutionary spirits were not under
Mao s control anymore. The proletariat classes, by 1968, were using extremely
violent ways to express their devotion to this revolution. So secondly, Mao strongly
depended on PLA, which now became peerless people s army and personally formed
and led by our great leader Chairman Mao... (Meisner, 340). In addition to the army,
leaders like Zhou Enlaimade efforts to rebuild the Party and reestablish the authority
of the state bureaucracy (Meisner, 340; Macfarquhar Schoenhals, 287). Yet, the cost
of the demobilization was pretty high mass killings occurred when the Party started
to cleanse the class ranks, which were even much more serious compared with what
happened in earlier years. Mao at first considered about continuing the revolution for
a longer time except his Red Guards constantly causing problems. Those young naive
students were no longer listening to Mao as the denunciation and big
Eucalyptus Globulus Effect on the Germination of Radish...
The purpose of the project was to determine whether Eucalyptus globulus had an
effect on the germination of radish seeds. It was hypothesized that Eucalyptus
globulus would have a negative effect on the germination of the seeds and their
growth.
Before a seed can germinate it must first shed the seed coat, a protective outer layer
that protects the seed from parasites, injury, and unfavorable temperatures. Inside the
seed coat is the embryo which contains the root and first leaves of the plant, called
cotyledons. After the seed coat has been shed the root emerges first so that it can
absorb water and nutrients. After the roots have come out of the embryo the
cotyledons will follow. Some seeds need certain conditions to germinate and go ...

Allelopathic chemicals can also exist in soil, affecting the surround plants and those
planted afterwards. Studies have shown that Leucaena leucocephala, a tree promoted
for water conservation and revegetation, contains a toxic amino acid in its leaves
and foliage that prevents the growth of other trees but not its own seedlings.
Research has also shown that this species reduces the yield of wheat and increases
the yield of rice. Other allelopathic plants include mango, box elder, broccoli, and
Eucalyptus. A study was conducted at Gomal University that tested the allelopathic
effects of Eucalyptus camaldulensis L. on the germination and seedling growth of
wheat. The leaves of E. camaldulensis trees were washed and dried and then filtered
to create a one hundred percent solution as well as ten percent, fifteen percent, and
twenty percent. These solutions were tested on twelve varieties of wheat. The results
showed that there was a significant decrease in germination counts with increasing
levels of Eucalyptus aqueous extract concentration. All twelve varieties of wheat were
adversely affected by the twenty percent concentration of Eucalyptus extract. It was
observed that there was a direct relationship between the number of normal seedlings
and the extract concentration. The results suggested that the E. camaldulensis L. leaf
aqueous extract could reduce normal seedlings even in low concentrations.

Essay On My Final Major Project
For my Final major project I wanted to develop and design surface patterns made
by using fruit, vegetables, flowers and natural forms to create repeat patterns and
dyes. ed to explore creating different surfaces using textured vegetables. For my
final outcome I wanted to create a garment so the whole way through the project I
developed my ideas. My initial ideas started with ceramics as I continued to make
test tiles during my research at the start of the fabric in the sketchbook. I then took
these experimental tiles to continue developing my use of oxides. As it was the first
time using oxides I experimented using different colours and glazes which made each
tile have a different effect and which tiles showed the detailed of the imprints... Show

Throughout the project I visited a lot of different exhibitions. I found inspiration
from a lot of different Museums and galleries. Also from Bristol Museum where I
was intrigued by the mass collection of porcelain ceramics, and the delicacy of each
table ware item. So I looked into a variety of different raincoat ideas looking at a
lot of different designers who inspired the journey of the raincoats such as Mary
Quant who controversially designed the first PVC raincoat. This inspired me to
create a plastic see through raincoat made from Plastic shower curtain material. In
October I then visited the London Knit and stitch show which developed my
thinking I came across an Indian fabric stall which made me then look into Indian
patterns and the bold but detailed patterns. And because I then was looking at
different waterproof fabric I picked up some wax cotton which experimented with to
show how the textured fabric works with pleats and different structure as to whether I
will get this printed on. Even the Exhibition at the Royal academy I
Colonial Potosi Religion Essay
The relationship between wealth and religion in colonial Potosi as described by
Arzans is a somewhat unique one. Arzans stories describe a city of great wealth,
that however also has a great tie to religion. The stories tell a tale of a city that is
very generous with its wealth in giving back to the poor. Also the stories tell of the
misfortune of those that attempt to attain wealth for the wrong reasons, or use their
significant wealth to attempt to do some kind of evil. In colonial Potosi, the ideas of
wealth, and religionseem to be significantly tied to one another throughout Arzans
stories. Arzans himself seems to see the relationship between the two ideas to be
connected. For an example of this we can look at the story of The Downfall of Don
Francisco Chocata. In this story we see a description of a man of considerable wealth
that he attained through a friendship with Don Juan Velarde. In the story we see
Chocata attempt to use his wealth for the wrong reasons in trying to... Show more

Through the previous example we can see that god clearly rewarded those who
believed in him with tremendous wealth in Potosi. For another example of this we
can look at the story of Sebastian and His Golden Spurs. In the story Sebastian is a
poor man, and through his belief in god throughout his ordeal in the mine, he is
rewarded with good health, and significant wealth for his family to live. God
rewarded him with this wealth by a good supply of very rich ore that could not
have been in that place by any natural agency, but must have been put there
supernaturally by god . For those that achieve longevity in Potosi it seems that
wealth tends to promote righteousness among them. If they believe in god, and give
to the poor graciously they will continue to enjoy wealth. In this way, the people of
Potosi per Arzans, continued to give to the poor as graciously as possible, and had a
very important belief in
The Importance Of Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapy is grounded in seven core values (AOTA, 2008). Altruism,
equality, dignity, and prudence are four of the values that coincide directly to my
beliefs and philosophy related to obesity. Altruism encompasses indicating concern
for the well being of others (AOTA, 2015). As an occupational therapist, I need to
have concern for every client I have no matter what they look like. Equality means
treating everyone fairly and not showing bias. The purpose of taking the IAT test
was to display my biases and help me critically think how I can remain unbiased in
practice. Similarly, I can show dignity to my clients by always treating them with
respect. Lastly, as an occupational therapistI will use my clinical and ethical reasoning
skills to help make proper decisions for clients. This is referred to as prudence
(AOTA, 2015).
Principles and Standards of Conduct
Occupational therapy incorporates the client s personal preferences, circumstances,
and needs into a personalized healthy treatment that considers all preexisting medical
conditions (AOTA, 2008). Occupational therapy interventions pertaining to weight
management may include education programs, community programs of health
promotion, development of new routines and habits, and proposal of home
modifications. Research shows that occupational therapists who are informed about
potential interventions for obese clients are better able to help clients engage in

The And Recommendations From The Cable Industry
V. RECOMMENDATIONS
A. RECOMMENDATIONS RESULTING FROM STUDY
Customer Service In our extensive research on Time Warner Cable, we found out that
Time Warner is one of the biggest names in the cable industry. On the other hand they
are know to have notoriously bad customer service, which in turn limits the amount of
customers they bring in, and increases the amount of customers that cancel their
service. To deal with these problems we have come up with multiple marketing
recommendations. In order to get rid of the reputation of bad service Time Warner
has to advertise their new and improved customer service so that people will want to
buy from Time Warner Cable. One way to start improving customer service is to
offer an online survey so that the customers know that their opinion is what s most
important to Time Warner Cable. The survey will not just ask if their problems
were solved or if the representative was good. It will ask in depth questions about
what the customer thought about that particular representative. They also can give
follow up surveys a few weeks after a phone call. These surveys will be there to see
if the problem that the customer experienced is arising again and to make sure that
there are no new problems. These surveys show that Time Warner Cable truly does
care for the wellbeing of their customers. Along with surveys Time Warner Cable
can also offer holiday specialties such as reduced prices for the holiday season. They
can market this by

buildings that were built of grey concrete and had a flat roof made of roofing felt,
with a net over it covered with branches. The steps led into a dark, empty corridor
which was very long, but only 1.5 m. wide. On both sides of it were the doors to
the gas chambers, they were wooden doors that were 1 m. wide. The chambers

victims by using carbon monoxide gas generated by stationary engines and pumped
into gas chambers. (Operation Reinhardt (Einsatz
Racism And Prejudice In Remember The Titans

not creating friendships and working with the change. The angered fire inside him

as a team. The new relationships were key to helping the boys play better, and Louis
was a catalyst for this change. When they got past their differences; they were able to

History of Television Essays
History of Television
Television has become a major industry all over the world, especially in the
industrialized nations, and a major medium of communication and source of home
entertainment. Television is used in many industries. A few examples are for
surveillance in places inaccessible to or dangerous for human beings, in science for
tissue microscopy, and in education. Today you can find a television in almost every
home. This is why I decided to research the history of the television.
The first television devices were based on an 1884 invention called the scanning disk,
patented by Paul Nipkow. This device was a large disk with holes on it, which spun
in front of an object while a photoelectric cell recorded ... Show more content on

An anode finger was a pencil sized tube with a small aperture at the top. Magnetic
coils sprayed the electrons emitted from the electrical image left to right and line by

Farnsworth s devices then transmitted the current to a cathode ray tube, which
recreated the image by scanning it onto a fluorescent surface.
Farnsworth applied for a patent for his image dissector in 1927. The development
of the television system was plagued by lack of money and by challenges
Farnsworth s patent from the giant Radio Corporation of America (RCA). In 1934,
the British communications company, British Gaumont, bought a license from
Farnsworth to make systems based on his designs. In 1939, the American company
RCA did the same. Both companies had been developing television systems of their
own and recognized Farnsworth as a competitor. World War II interrupted the
development of the television. When television broadcasts became a regular
occurrence after the war in 1945, Farnsworth was not involved. Instead he decided to
devote his time to trying to perfect the devices he had designed.
David Sarnoff, Vice President of the Radio Corporation of America, later hired
Vladimir Zworykin to ensure that RCA would control television technology.
Farnsworth s business manager ended up selling

How Did Akhenaten Change Of Religion
Akhenaten
During the time of the new kingdom a powerful Pharaoh came into power.
Akhenaten, also known as Amenophis IV believed that only one god should rule
universally, and that god is known as the Aten. Akhenaten was the crucial changer of
polytheism. Changing polytheism to monotheism was an enormous impact on society
back then and now. But, Nicholas Reeves uses all sorts of evidence and opinions of
his, to conclude that Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt. Historians have asked
why Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt, and many opinions have come into
contact. Reeves argues that, even though Akhenaten was the founder a new faith he
desperately used the new religion for political uses. In an attempt to reassert the

Reeves interprets the changing of religion for political reasons, and it all started
with Hatshepsut. Thutmose III was the sixth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and was
ruling co regent with his aunt Hatshepsut. Akhenaten wanted to restore power in
himself, not because he cared about his people only because he thought the gods
had more power than him. To fix that problem, he wanted only one god, the Aten,
to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was changing beliefs for
theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. From the start of his reign,
it was clear that Akhenaten was determined to change something, and was willing to
share his beliefs in monotheism. Pharaoh, it is clear, was a man with a mission; of
rare intelligence, recognizably well tutored in the theological minutiae...despite his
age, he was certain in his beliefs and determined to share them (91). There was a
text discovered called the Great Hym of Aten and it is a hieroglyphic text discovered
in el Amrna in the tomb of Ay. It was believed to have been written by Akhenaten
himself translated by W.J. Murnane. Reeves points out that the hym was rather a
strong emphasis on how one should portray the nature of reality, and rather weak
connection between Aten and the kingdom. He also notes that the hym as well as
many other texts, never emphasize sympathy or kindness to the Egyptian people, and
it only praises Aten and the relationship with Akhenaten. Whom you have taught your
ways and your might...you yourself are lifetime, one lives by you. This is showing us
how much praise Akhenaten is giving to the Aten and how he lived for

Subsequently, Newton, secluded from his parents who denied education, lived
with a grandmother who influenced learning, provided the basis of his
intelligence. In 1654, Newton was enrolled at The King s School, Grantam
Grammar School at age 12 located in Grantham, Lincolnshire. He lodged with a
local apothecary, who helped build up his interest in chemistry and the
undeveloped medicine fields. Excelling in all his courses, he also erected an
interest in reading books, creating novel models, and chemistry. As a result, once
he banged a peg into a wall, marked hours around it, and saw its shadow move,

his new personality during his adulthood.

The Code Of Ethics And Systematic Ethics
Abstract. The article reviewed was The Impact of Ethical Tools on Aggressiveness in
Financial Reporting. The key of the abstract is to demonstrate the differences in
financial reporting between the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
and U.S. Standards (p.477). More in depth the research focuses on the code of ethics
and moral duties of company top management.
Introduction. The authors study the financial scandals and the recent financial crisis
to demonstrate the gap between market processes and accounting standards. The
IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ in contrary nature of accounting standards. GAAP is
considered as rule based standards, while IFRS viewed as a principle based.
Therefore, the professional judgment on financial improprieties is highly important
(p. 479). The main objective of the research is to specify the impact of ethical setting
on judgment and decisions of accountants. The code of ethics and systematic ethics
trainings can diminish the inconsistencies from accounting policies. The study is
important due its analysis of mechanisms and alternatives of decision making, and the
influence of code of ethics on chief officers strategic choices (pp. 484 485). The
authors focuses on the problem: how accounting standards contribute to the
professional judgment, company financial performance, and earning management.
The authors discuss issues that arise because of the unethical financial reporting.

Is honey effective in reducing acute cough symptoms due to upper respiratory tract
infections in children? RESPONSE
Background
Upper respiratory tract infections are one of the most common illnesses in children,
with acute cough as a primary complaint. This can become quite cumbersome for
parents to manage, considering young children may have up to eight respiratory
infections with a cough per year, each lasting approximately ten days.1 Despite the
frequency of this ailment, there are not many effective therapeutic options for
children. Antitussives and expectorants are over the counter medications mainly
utilized for acute cough. However, they lack sufficient evidence to justify its use in
children.2,3 Therefore; studies have been ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Balance of Power and the Congress of Vienna
The Congress of Vienna (1814 1815) No event epitomizes the state of Europe in the
wake of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars as well as the Congress of
Vienna held between 1814 1815. The culmination of centuries of European political
tradition, the Congress was in many ways the last gasp of monarchy in Europe, as the
royal houses tried to restore the Europe they once knew and ensure that their way
of politics and society would be sustained even in the face of the radical wave of
change foreshadowed by the French Revolution. At that time of the Congress Europe
was in a state of disarray. The French Revolution that erupted in 1792, Napoleon

Once in full swing, the Congress quickly moved into its first phase, the negotiations
over Napoleon s Duchy of Warsaw, otherwise known as Poland. The Polish
Lithuanian Commonwealth had been partitioned between 1772 to 1795 amongst
Hapsburg Austria, Prussia, and Russia. Alexander I, demanding compensation for
Russia s efforts against Napoleon pushed for a plan in which the Prussian and
Austrian controlled sections of Poland would be combined into a new Kingdom of
Poland under Russian control. In exchange for ceding their Polish territories, Prussia
would be given the entire kingdom of Saxony, and Austria would be compensated
with extensive holdings in northern Italy. (Gulick) This proposition led to the
bitterest conflicts at the Congress in what was dubbed the Polish Saxon Crisis. The
Coalition quickly broke into two opposing camps with Great Britain and Austria in
opposition to the Russian proposition, and Russia and Prussia in support of it.
Metternich s reasons for opposing Russian hegemony over Poland were the most
pressing. Russian control of Poland meant that the Hapsburg Empire would have to
share its north and northeastern borders with Russian soldiery. Likewise, if Prussia
were to come into possession of Saxony then the northern perimeter of the Empire
would be even more susceptible to invasion, and the already strong political bond
Old Testament Violence
I agree with Professor Stone, when he talked about the violence in The Old
Testament, granted in just about every story told in The Old Testament there is a
war or some other type of violence. He talks about Pharaoh of Egypt for instance
and how he considered himself to be God and he appointed top rulers in about 30
towns of Canaan. Pharaoh sent the Egyptians to Canaan and the surrounding towns
and stripped them of their best workers and made them out of salves. Mosesby Gods
hand freed them from the Pharaoh and was tasked to bring the children of Israel to
the promise land. Moses got upset when he came off of the mountain and saw the
Israelitesworshiping false gods. He broke the Ten Commandments into 1000 pieces
and this made Goddispleased.
Standing Waves Lab
This lab demonstrated qualities of standing waves with great help from a
mechanical vibrator, a sine wave generator, and a piece of string. Through this lab
we were able to understand how to calculate the speed of a wave on a string. A
standing wave is defined as a wave that travels forward, then is reflected creating
nodes (regions with minimal to zero energy).
If the frequency of a standing wave is increased then more loops will be created, and
because of that the wavelengths will be decreased. Throughout this experiment,
transverse waves are generated. We know this because of the perpendicular movement
of the string that creates crests and troughs.
In this experiment we began by measuring the length and finding the mass of our
string. Then, we tied the string to the wave driver and the pulled it over the pulley
and attached a weight with a mass of 0.070 kg the then end of the string. Once we
did that, we calculated our predictions for the frequencies of the various harmonics.
After that we connected the wave driver to the sine wave generator and set the
amplitude knob to the midway point. Then we searched for the correct frequency to
find the first, second, and third harmonic. After we completed this, we tried the
experiment two more times with 0.100 kg and 0.120 kg.
One of the main points of this experiment was ... Show more content on

After finding the speed we can predict what the smallest frequency is to create a
standing wave. This is known as the first harmonic which is also known as the
fundamental frequency. Throughout this experiment we place different weights on
the end of the string, because of this different tensions are created and the speed is
calculated differently. We do this in order to examine how the different tensions of
the string can create different frequencies for

(5) Product Diversification While focusing on its premium and super premium
segments, Mondavi plans to introduce new wines within the segment. These wines
are expected to compete with the wines from other countries such as France and
Italy and are expected to have positive returns. Vertical Integration The Mondavi
Corporation has over 8,000 acres of vineyards in its portfolio. This company is
constantly searching for new vineyards and ways to grow the finest grapes to
harvest. Even though Napa Valley, California is where most of their vineyards are
located, Mondavi has vineyards worldwide. Horizontal Integration Mondavi has
acquired many smaller wineries and added them to their portfolio. The acquisition of
other wineries has made it possible for Mondavi to make strategic moves in their
plans and strategies. The acquisition will bring together complementary wine assets,
including vineyards, production facilities, and distribution capabilities that will
strengthen Constellation s portfolio and further build the Robert Mondavi brand. (6)

protagonist, in Pakistan trying to live his dream of climbing the second tallest
mountain in the world, K2. Shortly after starting his climb, he falls ill and is
forced to stay in a small village at the foot of the mountain, Korphe, while he fights

Mortenson tries to learn more about the small, impoverished village to see if there is
anything he could do to repay them. While touring the village, Mortenson notices a
group of girls sitting in the dirt. While talking with them, he realizes that they are
trying to write words in the dirt, but they do not know that many because they have

depend on each other for guidance, support and thus prompted the establishment of

friends and Neighbors alike. One participant was born and raised in Hawaii
explained that his relatives on his father s side lived on the Big Island and
characterized them as being ...very laid back, tight knit and loving towards each

population and this is understandable as it cuts costs that are associated with
housing. One participant shared that her parents bought her a car in order to keep
her from leaving the Island for college. Two of our participants have children of

members care for their children while attending classes. Once again, familial support
was a common reason Big Islanders chose to attend UH Hilo. For others it was the

The Public Sphere Within Theatre
The Public Sphere within theatre was a concept that was first delineated by
philosopher Jurgen Habermas in his book titled The structural transformation of the
public sphere, in which he refers to the right that all citizens hold, the right to
participate and engage into discussions on public matters of interest and public
issues. Habermas writes: the audience does not constitute a space for spectators and
listeners but a space for speakers and addresses who engage in debate. (Habermas in
Balme 2012). The Public spherehas now become a space, a stage, for performers,
speakers and protesters to have a voice rather than for the preliminary use of
entertainment for the audience, spectators and listeners.

theatre s role in the Public Sphere is explored. Balme traces the origins ... Show more

Academic and artistic interest in something is usually a sure sign that matters are
unclear, conceptual boundaries are blurred and that old certainties are anything
but that. There is also little doubt that the major challenges we face: the media
revolution, globalization and migration, climate change, the erosion of public
finances and services (to name just a few) have all in some way a bearing on the
public sphere, the realm where issues are debated and where citizens are free to
enter and engage in discourse. As the public sphere is primarily a discursive arena
located outside and between state bureaucracies on the one hand and economics and
business on the other, it occupies a crucial role in the functioning of so called free
societies. The question to be explored here is what role theatre and performance in
practice play in this realm and how performance and theatre theory can contribute to
the debates. (Balme

high profile issue was the Iranian Hostage Crisis where, Iranian students stormed the
U.S embassy in Tehran and took 53 Americans hostage, and the attempted rescue of
said hostages which resulted in a collision between two helicopters and eight dead
marines (Davidson, et al 937). The Carter Administration s handle on foreign affairs
proved to be disastrous. As a result, the Republican party s platform for the election
of 1980, in which Carter was running for reelection, focused heavily on... Show more

President Lyndon Johnson had championed the liberal movements of the late
twentieth century and continued the work of Franklin Roosevelt in an attempt to
build a great society . He pushed through Congress countless pieces of legislation,
more than the New Deal, designed to create equality in America including the
Medicare and Medicaid Acts, the Elementary and Secondary School Act, and the
Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Davidson, et al 873). The American public seemed to
accept Johnson s programs as a drastic yet positive step for the nation. However, as
time passed, many middle class Americans began to view Johnson s steps as
relaxed liberal policies that allowed lawbreakers and members of the lower class to
live off of their hard work. The feeling that they were being taken advantage of led
many Americans to question the effectiveness and legitimacy of Johnson s great
society . One of these middle class Americans wrote a letter to Nelson Rockefeller,
the Republican governor of New York, stating that she was discriminated against in
favor of dope addicts and welfare cheats (Document 3). The feelings in her letter
exemplify the anger of the middle class when dealing with Johnson s great society
and more broadly, the failure of the liberal state to bring about real change or equality.
Additionally, the programs that Johnson set in place, while they did lower the
unemployment rate initially, eventually left
The Vaccine War Essay
Through the rise of technological advances in medicine, the vaccine has changed the
world for the greater good of the human race. Making a great triumph and virtually
eliminating an array of life threatening diseases, from smallpox to diphtheria, thus
adding approximately thirty years to many humans life spans. Although, a new
complication has arisen, possibly linking neurological digression with this rise of new
vaccines. Such a digression has forced parents to exempt their children from receiving
vaccinations and brought forth mental anguish affecting the minds of many. In the
Frontline episode The VaccineWar, a progressively distressful debate ensues among
many scientists and doctors within the public health system and an... Show more

In addition, several celebrities make an appearance to illustrate their views on this
matter. Celebrities such as former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy and
companion Jim Carrey as well as an appearance from a Redskins cheerleader Desiree
Jennings, all who claim there is a connection between vaccines and neurological
disorders. Though there is a vast amount of compelling data from both sides of the
spectrum this issue has yet to be resolved because the situation is very complicated.
Furthermore, the debate has escalated far beyond just the medical risks and benefits
but now has an ideological principle regarding a parent s decision and governmental
confines. Scientist Hank Jennings says, They still want it to be a choice. They don t
want it to be compulsory (Palfreman, 2010). Additionally, despite the scientific fact
that vaccines are safe, government rule regarding parental choice is another
component increasing the fight against vaccines. Throughout The Vaccine War, the
particular theory exemplified on the human behavior is Cognitive Dissonance Theory.
Cognitive Dissonance Theory is a notion created by Leon Festinger that disputes that
dissonance is an awkward feeling that encourages people to take action to diminish it.
This theory is composed of two components: cognitions and cognitive dissonance.
Cognitions are defined as, ways of knowing,

Alpha Phi Interview Report

Interview
Interview of Madison Miles on how greek life and friendship go hand in hand.
What sorority are you in?
Alpha Phi
Do you think this is the best sorority on campus?
Yeah, because we do a lot for the community. We do our heart walk, which is
coming up on October 28th. We also do a red dress gala in the spring. All the
money that we raise we donate to womens heart health. We also do things like go to
nursing homes, soup kitchens, charity events. Our sister has a lupus walk coming
up. We also do a lot of things together like going to get food, hang out on the
weekends, shopping, and lazy days in.
What are your thoughts on greek life?
I think going greek really helped me get accustomed to moving away from home and

I began thinking who the best interviewee would be for this story and I thought the
Student Involvement Center would be the best bet. I thought if I could talk to one
of their students then I could get both angles of all the things the Student
Involvement Centers does to help students get involved and also how it helped
them to make friends. Hopeful, I emailed them. I never got anything back. So, I
searched for a phone number with no luck and emailed them again. By this time, I
knew I had to change my story a little bit and get a new person to interview. My
backup plan was to interview a sorority girl about how going greek helped her
make friends. I was going to go in the O (which is where all the sororities and
fraternities hang out and have offices) and ask if anyone would like to do an
interview for me. The more I thought about this the more I realized how much of an
awful plan it was. Instead, I remembered there was a sorority girl in my philosophy
class. I asked her if she could do an interview and she was busy until later that week. I
had finally got everything straightened

The biggest drawback of spatial data warehouse surrounds the data retrieval. Diverse ideas have been put forward on the correlation between spatial objects and their directions. When modeling the directions of spatial data in datasets, several steps are involved. The method of approximation of the spatial objects is made. This is helpful in the determination of the best method to be used in the analysis of the two spatial objects being correlated. The directions relations of the spatial data are then determined (Chmiel et al, 2009). For proper analysis, the directions should be complete and mutually exclusive. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Directional relations are then drawn in relation to their intervals. MBR approximation is preferred to point approximation because it uses the result from both objects. Minimum Bounding Circle Approximation In this technique, a circle surrounds the spatial data objects under study. Directions relations among the objects are determined. The minimum bounding circletechnique is rarely used (Chan, 1999). Tilling Based Model Lines are used to divide the planes into many tiles. Two methods are applied; projection based model and cone shaped model. The projection based model involves partitioning lines that run parallel to the axes of the coordinate system. The direction relations are then determined. The cone shaped model on the other hand describes direction using the angles (Malinow ZimГЎnyi 2007). Object Interaction matrix is a strategy that uses Cardinal directions between objects. OIM solves a diverse of problems created as a result of determining Cardinal directions in spatial data objects like incorrect results. OIM can only be applied for spatial data objects (Malinowski Zimany, 2004). Moving Objects Data Warehouses Due to the advancement that has been realized, the amount of data being generated may be overwhelming. Many proposals on data warehouses can solve this problem and handle the complex data. However, one challenge often occurs as a result of the analysis. In present day, many wars are fought specifically over the resource of oil, between nations that have oil and the nations that want it. Faye and Harry make the audience sympathetic for them. They just seem so pathetic at times that it s hard to not feel bad for them. Tod, Homer and many of Faye s other suitors, went along with her poor acting because she was beautiful yet pathetic. West says, Raging at him, she was still beautiful. That was because her beauty was structural like a tree s, not a quality of her mind or heart (126). They all loved her for what they saw on the outside, not her stuck up ways and wild stories. Austim Spectrum Disorder INTRODUCTION Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) are a group of neurodevelopmental disorders that have overlapping diagnostic criteria related to deficits in communication, and restricted interests and repetitive behaviour, Duffy and Healy ( as cited in Worley Matson, 2012). Recent studies in the United States reported the diagnosis of an ASD in 1 out of 91 children of between age three to seventeen years (Kogan et al., 2009) and 1 out of 110 children age eight years (Rice, Baio, Van, Doernberg, Meaney Kirby, 2007). Idro, Newton, Kiguli and Mwesige, (2010) found the prevalence of mental handicap, severe developmental /cognitive delay or regress in East Africa to be 17.0% while general behaviour problems was 3.9%. Jarbrink and Knapp (2001) note that ASDs requires management throughout an individual s life, with no specific cure; this results in high costs of interventions. This presents specific sets of challenges to caregivers especially in resource strained settings. Several studies have shown that parents of children with developmental disabilities experience heightened stress (Blacher, 1984; Schieve, Blumberg, Rice, Visser and Boyle, 2007), impaired mental health (Weiss, 1991), a sense of devaluation and self blame (Holroyd, Brown, Wikler Simmons, 1975), and impaired physical functioning, tiredness and exhaustion (Hedov, Anneren Wikblad, 2000; Emerson, 2003). First, he believed that only by using a triple alliance of cadres, revolutionary organizations and the army, which represented the most significant three parts in the revolution, could China go back to the right track. In order to consolidate this alliance, Maoist leaders declared that a revolutionary committee was necessary and the only way to reorganize the political power (Meisner, 331). However, the revolutionary spirits were not under Mao s control anymore. The proletariat classes, by 1968, were using extremely violent ways to express their devotion to this revolution. Studies have shown that Leucaena leucocephala, a tree promoted for water conservation and revegetation, contains a toxic amino acid in its leaves and foliage that prevents the growth of other trees but not its own seedlings. Research has also shown that this species reduces the yield of wheat and increases the yield of rice. Other allelopathic plants include mango, box elder, broccoli, and Eucalyptus. A study was conducted at Gomal University that tested the allelopathic effects of Eucalyptus camaldulensis L. on the germination and seedling growth of wheat. The leaves of E. camaldulensis trees were washed and dried and then filtered to create a one hundred percent solution as well as ten percent, fifteen percent, and twenty percent. These solutions were tested on twelve varieties of wheat. In order to get rid of the reputation of bad service Time Warner has to advertise their new and improved customer service so that people will want to buy from Time Warner Cable. One way to start improving customer service is to offer an online survey so that the customers know that their opinion is what s most important to Time Warner Cable. Farnsworth applied for a patent for his image dissector in 1927. The development of the television system was plagued by lack of money and by challenges Farnsworth s patent from the giant Radio Corporation of America (RCA). In 1934, the British communications company, British Gaumont, bought a license from Farnsworth to make systems based on his designs. In 1939, the American company RCA did the same. Both companies had been developing television systems of their own and recognized Farnsworth as a competitor. World War II interrupted the development of the television. When television broadcasts became a regular occurrence after the war in 1945, Farnsworth was not involved. Instead he decided to devote his time to trying to perfect the devices he had designed. Akhenaten, also known as Amenophis IV believed that only one god should rule universally, and that god is known as the Aten. Akhenaten was the crucial changer of polytheism. Changing polytheism to monotheism was an enormous impact on society back then and now. But, Nicholas Reeves uses all sorts of evidence and opinions of his, to conclude that Akhenaten changed the religion of Egypt. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reeves interprets the changing of religion for political reasons, and it all started with Hatshepsut. Thutmose III was the sixth pharaoh of the 18th dynasty and was ruling co regent with his aunt Hatshepsut. Akhenaten wanted to restore power in himself, not because he cared about his people only because he thought the gods had more power than him. To fix that problem, he wanted only one god, the Aten, to rule universally. Reeves doesn t assume that Akhenaten was changing beliefs for theological reasons, but it was for the sake of his power. From the start of his reign, it was clear that Akhenaten was determined to change something, and was willing to share his beliefs in monotheism. Pharaoh, it is clear, was a man with a mission; of rare intelligence, recognizably well tutored in the theological minutiae...despite his age, he was certain in his beliefs and determined to share them (91). There was a text discovered called the Great Hym of Aten and it is a hieroglyphic text discovered in el Amrna in the tomb of Ay. It was believed to have been written by Akhenaten himself translated by W.J. Murnane. Reeves points out that the hym was rather a strong emphasis on how one should portray the nature of reality, and rather weak connection between Aten and the kingdom. He also notes that the hym as well as many other texts, never emphasize sympathy or kindness to the Egyptian people, and it only praises Aten and the relationship with Akhenaten. Whom you have taught your ways and your might...you yourself are lifetime, one lives by you. This is showing us how much praise Akhenaten is giving to the Aten and how he lived for

The key of the abstract is to demonstrate the differences in financial reporting between the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Standards (p.477). More in depth the research focuses on the code of ethics and moral duties of company top management. Introduction. The authors study the financial scandals and the recent financial crisis to demonstrate the gap between market processes and accounting standards. The IFRS and U.S. GAAP differ in contrary nature of accounting standards. GAAP is considered as rule based standards, while IFRS viewed as a principle based. Therefore, the professional judgment on financial improprieties is highly important (p. 479). The main objective of the research is to specify the impact of ethical setting on judgment and decisions of accountants. The code of ethics and systematic ethics trainings can diminish the inconsistencies from accounting policies. The study is important due its analysis of mechanisms and alternatives of decision making, and the influence of code of ethics on chief officers strategic choices (pp. 484 485). The culmination of centuries of European political tradition, the Congress was in many ways the last gasp of monarchy in Europe, as the royal houses tried to restore the Europe they once knew and ensure that their way of politics and society would be sustained even in the face of the radical wave of change foreshadowed by the French Revolution. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once in full swing, the Congress quickly moved into its first phase, the negotiations over Napoleon s Duchy of Warsaw, otherwise known as Poland. The Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth had been partitioned between 1772 to 1795 amongst Hapsburg Austria, Prussia, and Russia. Alexander I, demanding compensation for Russia s efforts against Napoleon pushed for a plan in which the Prussian and Austrian controlled sections of Poland would be combined into a new Kingdom of Poland under Russian control. In exchange for ceding their Polish territories, Prussia would be given the entire kingdom of Saxony, and Austria would be compensated with extensive holdings in northern Italy. (Gulick) This proposition led to the bitterest conflicts at the Congress in what was dubbed the Polish Saxon Crisis. The Coalition quickly broke into two opposing camps with Great Britain and Austria in opposition to the Russian proposition, and Russia and Prussia in support of it. Metternich s reasons for opposing Russian hegemony over Poland were the most pressing. Russian control of Poland meant that the Hapsburg Empire would have to share its north and northeastern borders with Russian soldiery. Likewise, if Prussia were to come into possession of Saxony then the northern perimeter of the Empire would be even more susceptible to invasion, and the already strong political bond

Through this lab we were able to understand how to calculate the speed of a wave on a string. A standing wave is defined as a wave that travels forward, then is reflected creating nodes (regions with minimal to zero energy). If the frequency of a standing wave is increased then more loops will be created, and because of that the wavelengths will be decreased. Throughout this experiment, transverse waves are generated. We know this because of the perpendicular movement of the string that creates crests and troughs. In this experiment we began by measuring the length and finding the mass of our string. Then, we tied the string to the wave driver and the pulled it over the pulley and attached a weight with a mass of 0.070 kg the then end of the string. Once we did that, we calculated our predictions for the frequencies of the various harmonics. After that we connected the wave driver to the sine wave generator and set the amplitude knob to the midway point. Then we searched for the correct frequency to find the first, second, and third harmonic. After we completed this, we tried the experiment two more times with 0.100 kg and 0.120 kg.
