REVIEW OF THE PROFILE OF CREATIVE ABILITIES
There are differences between Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and
Family Therapist. Testing is a large factor in accurately assessing the full scope of the assistance
a client may new. Depending on the needs of the client the Licensed Marriage and Family
Therapist (LMFT) could be a better fit. In considering the tests that exist, one sample population
LMFT s are likely to work with are children. Development is always a major factor in children
with intellectual or behavior issues. One test that is dynamic to this factor is the Profile of Creative
Capabilities (PCA).

DEVELOPMENT. Growth and development of the PCA was led by Guilford s (1959) structure of
intellect model and Amabile s (1996) theorizing on creativeness. The rating scale also rates intrinsic
motivation.
TECHNICAL. The PCA was normed on the sample of 640 children across 11 states. The sample
was stratified by three age times (5 to eight 11 9 to 11 11 12 to 14 11).
The exam manual states the standardization sample carefully approximates the U.S. population.
The sample does seem to carefully match the U.S. Census when it comes to geographic region,
race and Hispanic ethnicity, and parent education level. However, the standardization sample
doesn t carefully match the U.S. Census when it comes to gender (e.g., 46% from the
standardization sample are male whereas 51% from the U.S. school age human population are
male), and family earnings (30% from the sample possess a family earnings of $75,000 and also
over whereas 19% of U.S. families come with an earnings within this upper range).
Evidence meant for construct validity was supplied by study of group differentiation across
different cohorts. The creativity class weren t given the PCA pre intervention, so it s impossible to
understand if the test was calculating alterations in creative abilities or reflecting latent group
variations in addition to the intervention. Further, it s unclear from the theoretical perspective, and

The Divine Comedy vs. Paradise Lost Essay
Full Circle from Sin to Salvation
Great works of literature have been written throughout history. However, The Divine Comedy
and Paradise Lost have the inept ability to stir the soul and cause a person to examine and re
examine their life. The brilliant descriptions, use of imagery, metaphor and simile give a person
a vivid picture of the creation of man and the possibilities for life in the hereafter. This is done, as
a person is able to see, full circle, from the beginning of time to the end of time, the consequences
of turning away from God. The ability to see a life full circle is apparent through the examination of
both of these poems. Although written many years ago, the morals and principles that ... Show more

Dante is elated to see Virgil as his first words to Virgil were, O light and honor of all other poets,
may my long study and the intense love that made me search your volume serve me now. You are
my master and my author, you the only one from whom my writing drew the noble style for which
I have been honored... . (Canto I of the Inferno in The Divine Comedy).
After emerging from the dark woods after Dante s vision, Dante and Virgil find themselves at the
gates of Hell, which were inscribed with Abandon every hope, Ye that Enter. ( This should be
found in the second or third Canto of The Divine Comedy, at the place that Dante and Virgil are
about to enter Hell). If it is not there, just leave the sentence and remove the brackets for the
citation) Hell is a funnel shape pit that is divided into nine terraces. Virgil, Dante s escort resides
in the area known as Limbo. He is placed in this area because he died before Christianity.
Nevertheless, Virgil is not subjected to Hell. Each terrace provides living space for individuals
who were in Hell for the different categories of sin for which they were suffering. The lower the
terrace, the more severe the punishment. Satan resides in the very bottom level of Hell. Dante
gives a very vivid description of his first sight of Satan when he writes, The emperor of the
despondent kingdom so towered from midchest above the ice, that I match better with a giant s
height than giants match the measure of his arms; now you can gauge

Main Causative Factor in the Failure of the DePuy ASR and...
Size of the devices:
The role of the large diameter ASR devices in males are linked with considerably lower metal ion
levels in contrast to the BHR devices, proposing that under perfect in vivo conditions the ASR has
a less wear rate than the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). Although, problems also occurred
with the smaller hip resurfacing implants among women and small men. It was discovered that
these implants did not lubricate as well, unlike the bigger implants and therefore they produced a
large amount of metal debris and produced a very concentration of metal ions in the blood. (Cohen
2012).
Acetabular component:
The BHR hip device is more innovative than the ASR device as it has a hole used for wires to fix
the introducer. The ASR device does not have this. (Underwood et al. 2011).
Positioning of the components:
The difference can be seen in the sub optimally positioned components within 10В° of Lewinnek
s safe zone in the occurrence of edge loading and rate of wear in both the ASR and the BHR
devices (Underwood et al. 2011).
Wear and inclination of the acetabular component:
A major positive correlation was seen between the wear and inclination of the acetabular
component with the BHR device (p = 0.01) which was not seen with the ASR device (p = 0.6).
This suggests either that the ASR devices have a higher wear rate at all inclinations or that the
safe zone that escapes edge loading is a lot thinner than that of the BHR device (Underwood et al.
2011).

The True Cost Of High School Dropouts Summary
What is the True Cost: High School Dropouts and their Effect
In today s society it has become even more crucial to obtain knowledge and graduate from high
school. In the article The True Cost of High School Dropouts Henry M. Levin and Cecilia E.
Rouse explain that the dropout rate imposes a heavy cost on the economy. Henry M. Levin is a
professor of economics and education at Columbia University. Cecilia E. Rouse is a professor of
economics and public affairs at Princeton University. She also was a member of President
Obama s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009 to 2011. This article was found on The New
York Times and was published Jan. 25th, 2012. They begin with stating the facts and giving
sources to build credibility. They then go into what is being done wrong and what needs to be
done in order to improve.
In their article, Levin and Rouse say that in the United states the dropout rate has fallen since the
1970s. They state that programs should be enforced to promote dropout prevention. While these
programs may be expensive, more high school graduates benefit the economy in the long run.
Throughout their article, statistics are given. This shows that Levin and Rouse have researched the
topic. For example, they state that only 21 states make it mandatory for students to attend high
school until they graduate or turn 18. Also, they say that only 7 out of 10 freshman will get high
school diplomas. This is shocking, being that an education is the foundation of

Perspective And Truth Changes Everything
Perspective and Truth Changes Everything Benjamin Disraeliance once said, Characters do not
change. Opinions alter, but characters are only developed . This quote exemplifies that
viewpoints can always have a sudden shift at any point of time, but a person s moral quality must
be established over time. Moral qualities do not change just on their own. This change of moral
qualities may be shown by a person who dislikes someone, then realizes the truth and learns to love
that someone. In Jane Austen s novel, Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet is the main character
who is a lady in the Regency Era. Elizabeth lives in Longbourn with her parents, Mr and Mrs
Bennet and her four sisters. Elizabeth s mother wants all of her daughters to get married soon
because it is a great pride to have in the 19th Century. She wants her daughters to marry someone
who is well off , or rich. In the beginning of the novel, Elizabeth s prejudice mindset and strong
opinion blinds her from realizations happening around her. She puts her trust in a man named
Wickham, who Mrs Bennet approves and hopes for a marriage between them. Soon, Elizabeth s
prejudice disappears allowing her to open up and fall in love. Throughout Jane Austen s novel,
Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth grows from a character who is very independent and opinionated
into someone who opens her eyes towards a person s change, which portrays her growth throughout
the story. To begin, Elizabeth Bennet does not value loving a

Achilles Vs Gilgamesh Research Paper
Many heroes we have read about this semester have been on a voyage to discover what it is they
want out of life. Each of these characters have had their entire existence recorded and recounted by
generations of people living in ancient and medieval times all the way to the present. Two heroes
that grabbed my attention as I read were Achillesand Gilgamesh. The two epic heroes, which are
from The Iliadand The Epic of Gilgamesh, share similarities and differences such as their divinity,
mortality and close friendships.
One of the major similarities Gilgamesh and Achilles share is that they both have divine mothers
and mortal fathers, although Gilgamesh does have something that Achilles doesn t. Gilgamesh,
who is two thirds divine and one third ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gilgamesh dreams of immortality, while Achilles viewed dying as a warrior s sincerest form of
integrity. Gilgamesh s divine lineage gave him unrivaled brutality and ambition as king of
Uruk. He saw himself as a full blooded god, a conviction that blinded him at first and caused
people throughout the city of Uruk to believe he was capable of winning any battle. It isn t until
later that the reader sees his human side and learns he is unable to vanquish everything in his
way. Achilles is also known for his god like strength, but his decision to live a shortened life that
is filled with brilliance over a lengthier life that wasn t as magnificent caused him to be much
more conscious of his mortality than Gilgamesh. Achilles, like Gilgamesh, was given incredible
abilities by the gods. In both of these stories the gods serve as beings who constantly interfere
with human lives, and they frequently show themselves to be capable of affecting everyday
occurrences. Achilles ability to recognize he wasn t invincible made the gods more eager to
work with him. He formed a close relationship with many of them, which made him a valued
power and also won him admiration from friends and enemies alike. On the other hand, Gilgamesh
was reported to the gods by the people he ruled over, and was scorned by

Analysis Of The Man In Richard Wright s The Man Who Was...
In Richard Wright s The Man Who Was Almost a Man, Dave finds himself throughout the course of
the story. Throughout the story, Dave is constantly seeking the pleasure of obtaining and then
eventually shooting a gun in order to be a man and find himself. However, Dave does not expect
the consequences that are to follow the pursuit of pleasure. The moral of the story pertains to the
role pleasure and its consequences have in development and finding oneself. The story narrates a
common, but little talked about problem, that runs rampant in today s society. In the story The Man
Who Was Almost a Man, Richard Wright illustrates Dave s development, or lack thereof, through
the symbols of the gun, the train, and the mule.
The most obvious symbol mentioned in this story is the gun. Throughout the story, the gun is
constantly shown as a symbol for power, as well as masculinity and independence. Several times
throughout the course of the story the narrator states, If anybody could shoot a gun, he could
(Wright 222). In the fields, Dave is treated as a child, and he believes that he is an adult and
should be treated as once, which includes owning a gun. Dave is disillusioned by the gun, and
believes that it will solve all of his problems and strengthen his weaknesses, including granting him
independence. Dave fails to realize that not being able to properly operate a gun only relinquishes
freedom. This can be further evidenced when Dave accidentally shoots Jenny, the mule. This
situation should have put an end to Dave s obsession with power and guns, but instead he was still
fascinated, demonstrating his lack of maturity and development. Overall, the gun demonstrates the
maturity, independence, and developmental level that Dave wishes to achieve, but severely lacks.
Mr. Hawkins s mule, Jenny, represents Dave. Overall, Dave fears working on the fields under
everyone else for the rest of his life, constantly being treated as a child. Dave connects with the
mule and consciously draws connections between the two of them such as the time Dave states,
They treat me like a mule, n then they beat me (Wright 221). Dave believes he is treated like a
mule, and believes there is little hope for anything

Women in Mordecai Richler s The Apprenticeship of Duddy...
In The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz, a book written by Mordecai Richler, women are
represented as if they are of a lower status than men. The women that are presented in this novel
include Yvette Durelle, Minnie Kravitz, Ida Kravitz, Linda Rubin, and Sandra Calder. Minnie
Kravitz is the mother of Duddy. She didn t really get a chance to have any relationship with
Duddy, as she passed away while Duddy was still young. The memories Duddy has of her are
next to none; and he is unsure of whether or not she even loved him while she was still alive.
Duddy tries to figure out if his mother loved him by questioning his father, Max Kravitz, however

Linda truly has feelings for him; however he eventually discovers that she is really the girlfriend
of Irwin Shubert, and was only being used by Irwin to cheat him at his roulette game. After
Duddy realizes that he has been conned by Irwin, he eventually decides to run off. Once he
begins to enjoy the attention that he receives as a result of people worrying about his absence,
he returns back to the hotel and meets Yvette Durelle. At first, Duddy and Yvette shared a stable
relationship with one another, and enjoyed each other s company. However, after Yvette took
Duddy down to a somewhat desolate beach, Duddy becomes obsessed with the beach as he
believes that this is the land that he will own. At this point, Duddy begins to centralize his goals
solely on owning the land, and begins using Yvette as a tool to attain it. Because Yvette is of
legal age and has a French Canadian background, the farmers wouldn t be reluctant to or refuse
to sell her the land as they would be with a young Jew. In addition to Yvette being used as a
device for acquiring land, she is also used as a device of Duddy s sexual pleasure. Duddy treats
her as an object, and nearly forces her into having sex with him whenever he feels the need to. He
also tells her that if he were to get her pregnant, he would simply get his brother, Lennie, to perform

Essay about Teaching Portfolio Analysis
Teaching Portfolio Analysis
In this portfolio, I have documented my first experiences not only teaching social studies, but also
teaching an eighth grade inclusion class in an urban middle school. Although these lesson plans
might not as good as my lesson plans of the future will be, I feel they reflect a great deal of work
and dedication that came through creating my first unit for a classroom. With time limitations, I
had to base my unit plan on a chapter in the book that was meant to be an introduction to the
studying of world history, including the basics of geography, anthropology, archaeology, and history,
for these eighth grade students. I tried to incorporate as many visual aids and supplemental exercises

The constraints of following this technique were frustrating at times, but I think I worked well
with this teacher and figured out how to get the best of both our worlds with a mix of his approach
and some of my own.
My philosophy of education, which I wrote back in September, has remained relatively unaltered.
The fundamentals of my philosophy have stuck, such as teaching responsibility and life skills,
being approachable and creative as a teacher, and allowing the learning/teaching process to be
interactive and beneficial to all. Throughout my portfolio, I continue to stress the importance of
students taking notes and participating in lesson through discussion and other activities and
assessments. These skills, which my cooperating teacher is trying to help students develop in his
class, are essential for their survival in a high school environment and also useful in any work
scenario when trying to learn a given amount of information. I was eager to make myself
approachable with the students, which I expressed through my willingness to answer all questions
and offer my assistance during any of their assessments or evaluations in the two months that I was
there. They seemed very comfortable with me by the end of my stay, which made me feel very
good about my ability to create a healthy classroom atmosphere in the future. Finally, I made my
lessons as interactive as

Poverty Of A Indebted Poor Countries ( Hipc ) A Project By...
INTRODUCTION
This paper looks at the Highly Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) a project by the IMF and World
Bank.
DEBT RELIEF KEY TO POVERTY REDUCTION
The World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) with its view that no poor country faces a
debt burden that it cannot manage, came up with an initiative in 1996 called HIPC initiative. Since
then, the International financial community and the multilateral organizations and governments
have worked tirelessly together to reduce external debt to sustain levels for the many Highly
Indebted Poor Countries. The World Bankand its partner IMF believes that poverty reduction will
come by reducing debt levels of the country.
NEGATIVE OUTCOMES OF HIPC INITIATIVES ON ZAMBIA
The World Bank and the IMF, almost always put conditions to members states to access financial
assistance. HIPC countries like Zambia were not an exceptional.
Four conditions were put in place for HIPC to meet, this includes:
1. be eligible to borrow from the World Bank s International Development Agency.
2. Face an unsustainable debt burden, that cannot be sustain through traditional mechanism debt
relief.
3. Have established a track record of reforms and sound policies.
4. Develop a Poverty Reduction Strategic Paper
The technicalities behind the above conditions came at a price, which to date, a little of progress
has been seen. Civic leaders under the leadership of President Levy Mwanawasa of the Republic of
Zambia, were on each other s tails.

Social Classes
Education within social classes have grown exponentially apart over the last couple decades
because many different factors have been presented in today s society. Education plays an
important role in today s classification of social classes, but first we need to understand the
different levels of social classes. Social classesare often determined by education, occupation,
wealth, and your social network. These social classes are the upper class; top 3% and the
wealthiest, the middle class; 50% of the United States, and the lower/working class; typically
people of poverty, unemployment, and homelessness. Each level of class has different guidelines

These people are least educated and tend to live paycheck to paycheck. It is this class that you will
find people collecting welfare and living in government housing. Homelessness and unemployment
run high in this class. Anyone in this class lacks proper medical care, adequate housing, clothing
and food. Rarely will you find someone in this class that holds an advanced academic degree,
graduated high school, and are thinking about furthering their schooling into secondary schools past
the mandatory minimum education requirements. The lower class students are usually labelled in
school, as the ones who are uneducated, unmotivated, and predictable when the schooling gets
harder. This leads to the lower class students often feeling demoralized and uninspired to become
better, so they give up without even trying to succeed. With little to none support from their family,
most of these students start school unable to read, they test poorly, and are often absent a lot more
than usual. Education usually becomes of not of importance within this social group. By the time,
these students are actually eligible for special programs, grants, or loans they are often unmotivated
or disadvantaged and unwilling to accept help from others, which leads to the decline of education
in the lower class, further separating the educational levels between

Homeschool Students, majority of admission staff located at different colleges believe homeschool
students either meet or exceed expectations of traditional schoolstudents (Cogan 19). These
expectations include GPA, how many collegecredits were earned prior to enrollment, and how

higher ACT Composite scores. The average ACT Composite score among homeschool students is
a 27, while the average score among traditional school students is a 25 (Cogan 24). Not only are
homeschool students standardized testing scores higher, their GPA scores are usually higher as
well. The average GPA of homeschool students is 3.64, and traditional school students average

Dobie Persuasive Techniques
4 Creative Ways to Exercise Your Dobie
In all my years on this Earth, I can only be absolutely sure of two things.
a) Dobies like to have fun.
b) Their owners like to have fun.
That is why I decided to come up with this list. Dobie s are adorable dogs, who happen to love
exercise a lot. Nothing beats walking in the park with a Dobie, inhaling the pine scented air,
enjoying the beauty of nature. That being said, there are other, less conventional, ways to exercise
your dog besides walking him. I will list my favorite four right here.
1) Swimming
Dogs love to swim and Dobie s are no exception. In the hot summer months, when a walk may be
impractical, nothing beats a nice refreshing swim.
If you live near a local lake, then let your Dobie dive right in. Otherwise, you may be able to find a
veterinarian, boarding kennel, or groomer that has a large dog pool. ... Show more content on

2) Laser Pointers
Dobie s have so much energy. Sometimes it is just hard to keep up with our four legged friends.
That is what laser pointers are for.
Dogs love these things. Dobies are no exception. Our friends will chase around a laser pointer
for as long as we can point it, burning up tons of calories in the process. In the midst of all the
fun, make sure you don t accidentally point the laser in your pal s eyes as it can damage his retina.
3) Make Your Dobie Work For His Supper
Okay, that headline was a joke. I could never do such a thing to my precious pal. However,
hiding after or before meal treats around the house is a great source of entertainment (also a great
way to get a house messy if you don t strategically place the treats). More importantly, it is great
exercise for your dog and a nice change of pace.

Everyone has a story to tell, but only a few people will write it down. Maya Angelou was an

Maya Angelou recorded history through poetry, biographies, journalism, children s books, cook

Ehrenreich starts out at 2.43 an hour plus tips. One of the first things Ehrenreich notices is that
the people around her are only working hard enough to get by. Because the managers will yell at
anybody who is done with their work, and not doing something new, the workers seem to be happy
with just working at a slow pace, doing just one job. Because the only reward for finishing early is
being yelled at by a manager, that apparently spends his day doing nothing, there is no real bonus to
go the extra mile. Due to this negative reinforcement, Ehrenreich notes that the restaurant is almost
moving in counterproductive mode. With less being worked on, less is being accomplished,
attributing to the overall sad appearance and low morale of the restaurant and its employees. The
next problem Ehrenreich encounters is the constant berating handed out by her supervisor Stu .

forced to feel like they are subhuman. Weekly the managers announce

The Current System Of Appointment
Introduction It is arguable that the current system of appointment judges into office that have been
in use for a protracted period of time has done a host of ills to the citizenry of United State of
America. It s a system that should be restructured for it to serve the purpose of justice for the good
will of Americans. As an overview, the system that is in use has giving the sitting president a wider
berth of nominating the judges that will be given a go ahead by the senators. Tushnet (2009), this
system is enshrined in article two of American constitution that states that the president shall
nominate by and with advice and consent of senate shall appoint the judge. This is the blueprint of
how the American supreme judge comes into... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is therefore inconsequential if they all read from the same script of confirmation. In the history
of senator confirming the nomination of the judges in order to give a go ahead for the
appointment of the president, there has been only little rejection. In the current 111th congress of
United State of America, there are 55 democrat senators, 2 independent senators and 41
republicans. All the candidates that have been sponsored by a specific party are bound by their
political party constitution to be loyal to its political demand. They cannot oppose what their
president has proposed. Crandall (2014), confirm this fact where the nomination of the prospective
judge end up being an appointment. The purpose of the senators on the either side of the political
divide is to check on the powers of the president and prevent skewed nomination. This purpose is
not served since the numbers of the majority in the congress are all fighting for the common
political interest in the country. The majority is always on the side of the president hence rendering
their role null and void. It is therefore justifiable to argue that the measure put in place to check the
president is ineffective and inefficient in delivering an impartial judge that will serve the interest of
the country and not being loyal to the interest of the president.

Origin Of Modern Muslim Terrorism
In the aftermath of the September 11th 2001 suicide attacks orchestrated by al Qaeda, the 9/11
Commission Report chose to... adopt a neo Orientalist approach by locating Ibn Taymiyya as the
root cause of the al Qaeda phenomenon (Lambert, 2011: 172). With al Qaeda claiming
responsibility for the 9/11 attacks, this terrorist organisation shall be the focus of the essay to
ascertain whether or not the 9/11 Commission s suggestion is supported. Section one shall explore
Ibn Taymiyya s teachings and the context in which he was writing in the 13th Century. Section two
shall analyse arguments that support the 9/11 Commission. Following this, sections three, four and
five shall examine sources that challenge the notion that Ibn Taymiyya s teachings are the root of
modern Muslim terrorism, due to contradictions with al Qaedas ideology. Throughout, the essay
holds that the origin of modern Muslim terrorism does not stem from Ibn Taymiyya s teachings.
The basis for this position is that the organisation responsible for the 9/11 attacks, al Qaeda, has
used his writings on the Mongol invasions to justify jihadagainst the threat of Westernisation
despite al Qaeda and Ibn Taymiyya representing two forms of religious consciousness (Heck, 2004:
117).
Section one shall examine the writings of Ibn Taymiyya, a thirteenth century scholar who had
sought to impose a literal interpretation of the Quran (Wright, 2007: 183), and the significance of
the context in which he wrote. His

Style Analysis of Amy Tan in The Joy Luck Club
Raymond Chandler, a fiction writer, once said, The most durable thing in writing is style. True, the
style is often defined as one of the most important elements in writing. In Amy Tan s novel, The Joy
Luck Club , the style significantly contributes to the development of both the tone and the theme of
the influences that a mother can have on her daughter. The author effectively portrays the somber
tone and the theme by using a concise style of diction, images, details, language, sentence structure,
point of view, and organization. The author emphasizes the tone and the theme of the novel by
using a variety of diction words that include repetition of words, archaic words, connotation, and
abstract diction. Primarily, the usage of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the night, Lena hears shouts across the wall and also whack! whack! whack! , the
sounds of killing (Tan 114). The sight and sound imageries seem to indicate a lachrymose tone
in Lena s house. In general, these imageries provide a picture of melancholy, which achieves a
somber tone of the novel. Furthermore, the author explores the tone of the novel by providing
specific details. In An mei s childhood story, the author chooses to describe the pain An mei
feels as the soup pours over her by providing details of the twinge. She describes it as the kind of
pain [specially] terrible that a little child should never remember it and how it still remains in
[An mei s] skin s memory (Tan 39). By depicting these details of the pain, Tan expresses the
feeling of misery An mei feels, which appends to the melancholy tone. Additionally, in the story of
Ying ying s first marriage, the author presents explicit details of the emptiness Ying ying feels by
portraying details of her as a tiger that neither pounce[s] nor lay[s] waiting between the trees and an
unseen spirit (Tan 285). This emptiness Ying ying feels seems to indicate the melancholy tone that
appears noticeable in the novel. Clearly, the details Amy Tan chooses to describe in the novel seem
to specify the somber tone. Likewise, the language the author uses also clarifies the tone and the
theme of the novel. In many positions in the novel, languages such as grief, despair, hate, and

Covert Misdirection And The Trick Essay
The first known performative act of magic occurred around 2700 B.C. with the simple ball and cup
trick. This conjuring act, and the evolution of many others, that utilize the sleight of hand (i.e.,
carefully performed fine motor skills meant to deceive) capitalize on a slew of cognitive
psychological principles (Macknik, Randi, Robbins, Teller, Thompson, Martinez Conde, 2008;
Barnhart, 2010). Further, psychological and neuroscientific fascinations in the workings of magic
are not limited to the 20th and 21st centuries. Psychologists of the 19th century, like Joseph Jastrow,
began to recognize the link between the performance of magic and the empiricism of psychologyas
means for establishing an argument for the use of the science of magic to study deception and other
perceptual cognitive paradigms in more realistic environments. Moreover, these... Show more

Specifically, covert misdirection, or sleight of hand tricks, are nestled tightly in these cognitive
principles of change and inattentional blindness as the magician utilizes interruption of the
spectator s temporal and spatial information to make them unaware (Demacheva, Ladouceur,
Steinberg, Pogossova, Raz, 2012). This could be achieved by causing the spectator to blink or
produce a saccadic eye movement (i.e., a quick, jerking eye movement) during gradual or
immediate change of a complex scene (Macknik et al., 2008). Furthermore, there is evidence as to
the role of micro saccades, or minute disruptions of retinal perceptions, in covert misdirection which
may benefit from future study and aid in providing a more fruitful depiction of attentional cognitive
principles (Engbert Kliegl,

Life In London, England In The 1500 s
London, England The Late 1500s
The Elizabethan era, named for Queen Elizabeth who reigned from 1558 1603, was a very
relaxed time in England because no wars or conflicts were happening at the time (Davis 231).
Many people believe that all people lived wonderful lives in the Elizabethan era, yet most people
were poor and lived hard lives. Undeniably the span of life is shorter in the sixteenth century than it
will be in subsequent ages (Davis 162). Important parts of life in London during the Elizabethan era
were social classes, living conditions, recreation, education, and gender inequality.
During the Elizabethan era in England, there were four main social classes: the nobles, the gentry,
the yeomen, and the poor (Lace 42). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

were considered property of their father or husband and not as their own person (Davis 90). Rich

Although there were no wars during the Elizabethan era, life was hard for most people. There
were four different social classes determined by how much money people had and what they did
for a living (Lace 42 46). There was trash in the streets and poor sanitation. Boys went to school
while girls stayed home and learned how to run the house from their mothers (Davis 91). People
generally worked long hours during the week and spent the weekends doing activities and attending

Online Privacy Protection Act
As we ve moved further into the twenty first century, our world and society has been immersed into
the digital world. With this digitization of our culture we have created a new resource, data. Data
has become king in the Age of Intelligence, it fuels most of what technology companies use to make
money. Companies like Google, Facebook, Amazon, ect. have leveraged their vast amounts of data
generated by the millions of internet users to better advertise and attract more users. Surprisingly
most of this data collection is created and aggregated unbeknownst to the users. This is where the
problems start to show themselves. When users are generating 2.5 quintillion bytes of data each
day, as estimated by IBM,(https://www 01.ibm.com/software/data/bigdata/what is big data.html),...

Protection Act (COPPA) which imposes certain restrictions to websites targeted at children limiting

which tries to maintain data security standards throughout the government in the most efficient
way possible. However, most of the regulatory power for data protection comes from consumer
protection laws that have been stretched to apply to the internet. There is no strong federal laws
that define our data privacy rights. The one place where we have seen the clearest instructions
for data protection is in the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) which
laid out specific standard to maintain the privacy of medical records. Currently there have been
several bills floating through congress to address some of these issues, but alas none of them
have been put into law. Currently most of the work on data protection has happened at the state
level. California has lead the way with its data protection laws. The California Online Privacy
Protection Act ensured Californians were able to easily find and see the data policies of
companies. California also notably passed one of the first security breach notification laws which
required by law for companies to report to their users if their information was accessed
improperly. Laws like these are a right step in the right direction to protect and inform citizen on
what happens with their data but are more or less bandages for the problem. Without strong federal
regulations it is hard to enforce and standardize these protections across the

The Pros And Cons Of Indentured Servants
When Europeans first came to the New World they were stunned to see how cheap land was and
how expensive labor was. Many of these settlers relied on Indentured servants and Indians as
cheap labor but this came with many disadvantages. Indentured servants carried too high a price
for farmers who raised crops for subsistence. ( The American Journey Ch. 3, Pg.78) Another
disadvantage to using indentures servants was that they only worked long enough to repay the
debt they had. Using Indians also came with an array of problems. One of the most blaring
problems was the death rate. Many Native Americans died from diseases that the settlers brought
with them and some of them died from being overworked with made the death rate sky rocket. Men

Different Types Of Mood Disorders
Introduction In my term paper I will be discussing the different types of mood disorders, the two
types of disorders that will be covered in this paper is depressive and bipolar disorder. I will be
talking about the signs and symptoms, known causes and factors that contribute, current
researches that have been conducted on the disorders, and also the diagnosis and treatments.
Bipolar Disorders If you have a mood d367isorder your emotion or mood is changed by the
outcome of an event or an action by another person. (Diseases and Conditions: Mood Disorders ,
n.d.) The first type that I m going to discuss is bipolar disorder, which is a brain illness that causes
your mood, energy, and your ability to perform tasks on a daily basis to shift. There are at least
four different types of bipolar disorders, all four of these types cause your mood to shift, they just
all have different behaviors, one type is called manic episodes, which is a very hyper active
behavior, and another type is depressive episode, which is when a person is at their lowest of lows,
and they all last for different variations of times. Bipolar I Disorder is one type; the manic episode
can last seven days or more or the episode could be so bad that the person needs hospital care.
Depressive episodes last at least two weeks, and the person could have both episodes at the same
time. Bipolar II Disorder is the second type, it is a pattern of depressive and hypomanic, which is
not as bad as manic episodes.

Traffic and Hwy Ops provided a recommendation that ICE policy cannot be applied to this project
since this is an existing project prior to the Sept. 2013 ICE implementation date. However,
unofficially, the traffic volume on SR 29 would require multiple lane roundabout and introduce
concerns for merging and weaving movements. Built year unconstrained vehicle volumes are 8600

The Field Of Mental Health Counseling
Introduction
Burnout in the field of Mental Health Counseling is a serious concern for everyone involved,
whether the person is just beginning their journey, or if they are a seasoned veteran with years
of experience. Unless, the person has a prevention plan in place and adds it into their busy
schedule and does not stray from their commitment of their self care program. It is easy when
we get busy to skip a day here and there and the next thing you know we have not taken care of
ourselves for a month or longer. Once we permit ourselves to neglect our self care program the
symptoms of burnout and begin to develop very quickly. Personally, I believe with a good self
care program, it is easier to circumvent burnout, then it is to overcome it once you are in its grips.
Here are some of the things I implement into my schedule to help myself from becoming burnt out.
Personal Care Mentally, Physically, Emotionally

classes in my undergraduate program self care was a regular topic that was brought up. Over half
of the professors would stress the seriousness of burnout and the need to begin a self care program
while still a student. Fortunately, prior to entering college, I unknowingly began a self care
program, a few times a week I participate in 12 step meetings. At the meetings, I have several close

The Concept and History of Cryptography
Jpz777 05/15/2013 Order # A2096310 From the codes messages passed furtively throughout the
courts of medieval Europe, to the infamous Enigma cipher machine which protected Nazi secrets in
World War II, the concept of cryptography is nearly as old as the written word itself. Today, the
field of information technology has developed to the point that even the most sophisticated
encryption methods are vulnerable, and for those working as information security officers,
shielding a company s invaluable data through the use of encryption has become an essential skill.
Modern encryption methods rely on much of the same techniques used throughout history, with
human readable plaintext being transformed into an unreadable format known as ciphertext upon
transmission between two parties, in effort to prevent nefarious third party intrusions. Within the
sub field of cryptanalysis a growing focus on mathematical theory has spawned the development of
intricately constructed algorithms, or governing systems used to precisely define a sequence of
operations (Layton, 2007). Modern cryptographic algorithms are capable of creating
computationally secured systems that, while they can be theoretically deciphered, are ostensibly
secure from any feasible attack strategy. The most widely applied cryptographic algorithms
employed by information security officers today typically fall under one of two categories:
Symmetric key cryptography and Public key cryptography (Peltier, Peltier Blackley,

Essay On Quilombo
A quilombo is a settlement founded by runaway slaves of African descent, the most famous of these
communities was Palmares. This free territory was established in the 1600s and lasted about eighty
nine years, which is longer than any other quilombo in Brazil. In 1984, the director Carlos Diegues
brought this overlooked history back into mainstream consciousness with his film Quilombo. The
main historical topic covered in this film is the spirit and resistance of African people once they
were separated from their homeland and subjected into slavery. History often portrays these
kidnapped Africans as helpless and submissive but they did not give up their freedom quickly or

The director includes an optimistic portrayal of Palmares lifestyle while also showing the truth of
its instability during its time period.
Another important theme explored in this film is the sense of community and love that is fostered
in these tight knit quilombos. This is portrayed in the scenes of Zumbi s abduction and later return
to Palmares. The community was heartbroken when a Portuguese man stole a little boy and
murdered his mother in front of all the children. Although this stunned the community, when
Zumbi escaped from his bondage and made it back to Palmares he was met with astonishment
and celebration from all of the people. Their spirit was not broken with this minor loss since the
outcome of their discovery could have been more catastrophic. This scene depicts the appreciation
everyone in Palmares has for being a part of the settlement and for being free from slavery in
general. It tells the audience that although the sense of loss of having someone stolen from them is
horrible, it is better than the alternative of having everyone separated and sold into slavery. These
scenes also ends happily since Zumbi is eventually reunited with the tribe and becomes a prominent
member within its ranks. Community is integral in quilombo culture and Palmares is especially
close since it lasted so long against colonial powers.

Literature In Chinese Literature
Chinese literature in the first half of the century was characterized by modernization and
westernization. Most writers warned to separate from classical Chinese. This included writers
such as Zhang Ailing, Lu Xun, and Xiao Hong. Not only did their education have an impact on
their beginnings as a writer, but as we can see through their novels, their childhood also have an
affect on their writings. Zhang Ailing, also known by her name Eileen Chang, was born into a
wealthy family, but she had a troubled childhood. Her father was addicted to opium and she left
with her mother to France, and did not return to Chinauntil later on. Her experiences in China
were not happy, and when she left, she no longer gave her tales a happy ending. When she went
back to Hong Kong and war had broken out, girls were portrayed as caring more about
themselves than the actual dangers of the war. One girl, Ailing describes panicking because she
did not have enough wardrobe suitable for the war. But it was not only her, it was almost
everyone who had a psychological response with some close association with clothing. Ailing
gives the example of Sureika, who came from a remote village on the Malay peninsula. She was
unlike any other girl at school, she chose medicine instead of the normal education and was seen
as naive. After they were instructed to hide, when a bomb had landed next to their dorm, Sureika
sorted out her brightest clothes and went to serve as a nurse for Red Cross. Her bright

George Washington Thomas Jefferson s The Declaration Of...
George Washington Thomas Jefferson, Patrick Henry and Benjamin Franklin fought hard to
have clams legal by the colonial Government as well as London administrators. In 1768 at the
treaty conference in Fort Stanwix, New York they discussed with Iroquois s representatives to
push the boundary line further west and south opening Kentucky to British settlements. Norton,

their own land. Thomas Jefferson was 34 years old a Virginia Lawyer known for his power.

1775) The Declaration main complete however was not against George III, it lay instead in the
first lines of its second paragraph, ringing statements of principle that have served ever since as
the ideal to which Americans aspire. We hold these truths to be self evident; That all men are
created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights; that among
these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that, to secure these rights governments are
instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed; that
whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends it is the right of the
people to alter or to abolish it; to institute new government. (Norton, M. B. et al pg. 159) these
words have resonated for hundreds of year. The congress men who voted for the Declaration of
Indolence did not know their ramification of their act. They committed a crime, which was a
capital offense. Congress had no clue had long it would take to make America its own colony.
They began to devise a plan that would allow them to take over by getting new people into office
and not be run by the same government that had controlled them since 1774. Political leaders did
not think that it would be best if legislative did not write the laws that applied to them. States soon

The State Law Enforcement Agency
The state law enforcement agency that obtained the offender s information is responsible for
entering the data into the appropriate record system and notifies the appropriate law enforcement
agency that resides over the jurisdiction of the offender. All of the data collected from the offender
will also be transferred to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Every year on the date of the person s
initial registration the state law enforcement agencywill mail them a nonforwardable verification
form to their last reported address. The person then is required to mail the verification form to
the designated state law enforcement agency with ten days. Verification forms must be signed
and the person must report they still reside at the same address last reported to the state law
enforcement agency. Failure to mail the verification form within ten days results in a violation
of the act unless the person is able to prove their address has not changed (statute). Convicted
offenders who must register are required to comply until ten years have elapsed since they have
been released from prison, paroled, given supervised release or put on probation. The requirement
of a person to register may also be terminated when it is determined the person no longer suffers

The Philosophy And Philosophy Of Ibn Al- Гё Arab Ж’в„ў
Category: Religion/Philosophy/Islamic Philosophy and Theology
The main themes of the book consist of epistemological tools, i.e. revelation, the human intellect,
inspiration unveiling used by Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya, and a theological subject, the
divine names and attributes that they have detailed elaborations on it.
Synopsis: The purpose of the book is to focus on potential similarities found in epistemological
hierarchies of Ibn al КїArabД« (d. 1240) and Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328), and reflections of these
similarities on their theologies. At the first part of the book, which comprises of two chapters, I
examine revelation, the human intellect, and inspiration unveiling as epistemological means used
by both Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya. Both of them claim to have followed precisely the
Quran and hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad when religious knowledge is in question. Unlike
some philosophers and Kalam theologians, who may consider the human intellect valuable equally
with the revelation, Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya affirm the highest status of the Quran and
hadiths indisputably. Having confirmed the most elevated status of the revelation, namely the
Quran and hadiths, they differ prominently. For Ibn al КїArabД« the most reliable way of religious
knowledge is unveiling while for Ibn Taymiyya, the human intellect must be given precedence over
unveiling. Therefore, it can be said that the epistemological hierarchy of Ibn al КїArabД« is
constituted with the revelation,

  • 2. REVIEW OF THE PROFILE OF CREATIVE ABILITIES Essay example REVIEW OF THE PROFILE OF CREATIVE ABILITIES There are differences between Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Testing is a large factor in accurately assessing the full scope of the assistance a client may new. Depending on the needs of the client the Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) could be a better fit. In considering the tests that exist, one sample population LMFT s are likely to work with are children. Development is always a major factor in children with intellectual or behavior issues. One test that is dynamic to this factor is the Profile of Creative Capabilities (PCA). The Profile of Creative Capabilities (PCA) includes two subtests (Drawing and Groups) and 2 ... The sample was stratified by three age times (5 to eight 11 9 to 11 11 12 to 14 11). The exam manual states the standardization sample carefully approximates the U.S. population. The sample does seem to carefully match the U.S. Census when it comes to geographic region, race and Hispanic ethnicity, and parent education level. However, the standardization sample doesn t carefully match the U.S. Census when it comes to gender (e.g., 46% from the standardization sample are male whereas 51% from the U.S. school age human population are male), and family earnings (30% from the sample possess a family earnings of $75,000 and also over whereas 19% of U.S. families come with an earnings within this upper range). Evidence meant for construct validity was supplied by study of group differentiation across different cohorts. The creativity class weren t given the PCA pre intervention, so it s impossible to understand if the test was calculating alterations in creative abilities or reflecting latent group variations in addition to the intervention. • 3. The Divine Comedy vs. Paradise Lost Essay Full Circle from Sin to Salvation Great works of literature have been written throughout history. However, The Divine Comedy and Paradise Lost have the inept ability to stir the soul and cause a person to examine and re examine their life. The brilliant descriptions, use of imagery, metaphor and simile give a person a vivid picture of the creation of man and the possibilities for life in the hereafter. This is done, as a person is able to see, full circle, from the beginning of time to the end of time, the consequences of turning away from God. The ability to see a life full circle is apparent through the examination of both of these poems. Although written many years ago, the morals and principles that ... After emerging from the dark woods after Dante s vision, Dante and Virgil find themselves at the gates of Hell, which were inscribed with Abandon every hope, Ye that Enter. Virgil, Dante s escort resides in the area known as Limbo. He is placed in this area because he died before Christianity. Nevertheless, Virgil is not subjected to Hell. Each terrace provides living space for individuals who were in Hell for the different categories of sin for which they were suffering. The lower the terrace, the more severe the punishment. Satan resides in the very bottom level of Hell. • 4. Main Causative Factor in the Failure of the DePuy ASR and... Size of the devices: The role of the large diameter ASR devices in males are linked with considerably lower metal ion levels in contrast to the BHR devices, proposing that under perfect in vivo conditions the ASR has a less wear rate than the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). Although, problems also occurred with the smaller hip resurfacing implants among women and small men. It was discovered that these implants did not lubricate as well, unlike the bigger implants and therefore they produced a large amount of metal debris and produced a very concentration of metal ions in the blood. (Cohen 2012). Acetabular component: The BHR hip device is more innovative than the ASR device as it has a hole used for wires to fix the introducer. The ASR device does not have this. (Underwood et al. 2011). Positioning of the components: The difference can be seen in the sub optimally positioned components within 10В° of Lewinnek s safe zone in the occurrence of edge loading and rate of wear in both the ASR and the BHR devices (Underwood et al. 2011). Wear and inclination of the acetabular component: A major positive correlation was seen between the wear and inclination of the acetabular component with the BHR device (p = 0.01) which was not seen with the ASR device (p = 0.6). This suggests either that the ASR devices have a higher wear rate at all inclinations or that the safe zone that escapes edge loading is a lot thinner than that of the BHR device (Underwood et al. 2011). ... • 5. The True Cost Of High School Dropouts Summary What is the True Cost: High School Dropouts and their Effect In today s society it has become even more crucial to obtain knowledge and graduate from high school. In the article The True Cost of High School Dropouts Henry M. Levin and Cecilia E. Rouse explain that the dropout rate imposes a heavy cost on the economy. Henry M. Levin is a professor of economics and education at Columbia University. Cecilia E. Rouse is a professor of economics and public affairs at Princeton University. She also was a member of President Obama s Council of Economic Advisers from 2009 to 2011. This article was found on The New York Times and was published Jan. 25th, 2012. They begin with stating the facts and giving sources to build credibility. They then go into what is being done wrong and what needs to be done in order to improve. In their article, Levin and Rouse say that in the United states the dropout rate has fallen since the 1970s. They state that programs should be enforced to promote dropout prevention. While these programs may be expensive, more high school graduates benefit the economy in the long run. Throughout their article, statistics are given. This shows that Levin and Rouse have researched the topic. For example, they state that only 21 states make it mandatory for students to attend high school until they graduate or turn 18. Also, they say that only 7 out of 10 freshman will get high school diplomas. This is shocking, being that an education is the foundation of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This quote exemplifies that viewpoints can always have a sudden shift at any point of time, but a person s moral quality must be established over time. Moral qualities do not change just on their own. This change of moral qualities may be shown by a person who dislikes someone, then realizes the truth and learns to love that someone. In Jane Austen s novel, Pride and Prejudice, Elizabeth Bennet is the main character who is a lady in the Regency Era. Elizabeth lives in Longbourn with her parents, Mr and Mrs Bennet and her four sisters. Elizabeth s mother wants all of her daughters to get married soon because it is a great pride to have in the 19th Century. She wants her daughters to marry someone who is well off , or rich. In the beginning of the novel, Elizabeth s prejudice mindset and strong opinion blinds her from realizations happening around her. She puts her trust in a man named Wickham, who Mrs Bennet approves and hopes for a marriage between them. Soon, Elizabeth s prejudice disappears allowing her to open up and fall in love. • 7. Achilles Vs Gilgamesh Research Paper Many heroes we have read about this semester have been on a voyage to discover what it is they want out of life. Each of these characters have had their entire existence recorded and recounted by generations of people living in ancient and medieval times all the way to the present. Two heroes that grabbed my attention as I read were Achillesand Gilgamesh. The two epic heroes, which are from The Iliadand The Epic of Gilgamesh, share similarities and differences such as their divinity, mortality and close friendships. One of the major similarities Gilgamesh and Achilles share is that they both have divine mothers and mortal fathers, although Gilgamesh does have something that Achilles doesn t. Gilgamesh s divine lineage gave him unrivaled brutality and ambition as king of Uruk. He saw himself as a full blooded god, a conviction that blinded him at first and caused people throughout the city of Uruk to believe he was capable of winning any battle. It isn t until later that the reader sees his human side and learns he is unable to vanquish everything in his way. Achilles is also known for his god like strength, but his decision to live a shortened life that is filled with brilliance over a lengthier life that wasn t as magnificent caused him to be much more conscious of his mortality than Gilgamesh. Achilles, like Gilgamesh, was given incredible abilities by the gods. In both of these stories the gods serve as beings who constantly interfere with human lives, and they frequently show themselves to be capable of affecting everyday occurrences. Achilles ability to recognize he wasn t invincible made the gods more eager to work with him. He formed a close relationship with many of them, which made him a valued power and also won him admiration from friends and enemies alike. • 8. Analysis Of The Man In Richard Wright s The Man Who Was... In Richard Wright s The Man Who Was Almost a Man, Dave finds himself throughout the course of the story. Throughout the story, Dave is constantly seeking the pleasure of obtaining and then eventually shooting a gun in order to be a man and find himself. However, Dave does not expect the consequences that are to follow the pursuit of pleasure. The moral of the story pertains to the role pleasure and its consequences have in development and finding oneself. The story narrates a common, but little talked about problem, that runs rampant in today s society. In the story The Man Who Was Almost a Man, Richard Wright illustrates Dave s development, or lack thereof, through the symbols of the gun, the train, and the mule. The most obvious symbol mentioned in this story is the gun. Throughout the story, the gun is constantly shown as a symbol for power, as well as masculinity and independence. Several times throughout the course of the story the narrator states, If anybody could shoot a gun, he could (Wright 222). In the fields, Dave is treated as a child, and he believes that he is an adult and should be treated as once, which includes owning a gun. Dave is disillusioned by the gun, and believes that it will solve all of his problems and strengthen his weaknesses, including granting him independence. Dave fails to realize that not being able to properly operate a gun only relinquishes freedom. This can be further evidenced when Dave accidentally shoots Jenny, the mule. This situation should have put an end to Dave s obsession with power and guns, but instead he was still fascinated, demonstrating his lack of maturity and development. Overall, the gun demonstrates the maturity, independence, and developmental level that Dave wishes to achieve, but severely lacks. Mr. Hawkins s mule, Jenny, represents Dave. Overall, Dave fears working on the fields under everyone else for the rest of his life, constantly being treated as a child. Dave connects with the mule and consciously draws connections between the two of them such as the time Dave states, They treat me like a mule, n then they beat me (Wright 221). Dave believes he is treated like a mule, and believes there is little hope for anything ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

After Duddy realizes that he has been conned by Irwin, he eventually decides to run off. Once he begins to enjoy the attention that he receives as a result of people worrying about his absence, he returns back to the hotel and meets Yvette Durelle. At first, Duddy and Yvette shared a stable relationship with one another, and enjoyed each other s company. However, after Yvette took Duddy down to a somewhat desolate beach, Duddy becomes obsessed with the beach as he believes that this is the land that he will own. At this point, Duddy begins to centralize his goals solely on owning the land, and begins using Yvette as a tool to attain it. Because Yvette is of legal age and has a French Canadian background, the farmers wouldn t be reluctant to or refuse to sell her the land as they would be with a young Jew. In addition to Yvette being used as a device for acquiring land, she is also used as a device of Duddy s sexual pleasure. Essay about Teaching Portfolio Analysis Teaching Portfolio Analysis In this portfolio, I have documented my first experiences not only teaching social studies, but also teaching an eighth grade inclusion class in an urban middle school. Although these lesson plans might not as good as my lesson plans of the future will be, I feel they reflect a great deal of work and dedication that came through creating my first unit for a classroom. With time limitations, I had to base my unit plan on a chapter in the book that was meant to be an introduction to the studying of world history, including the basics of geography, anthropology, archaeology, and history, for these eighth grade students. The fundamentals of my philosophy have stuck, such as teaching responsibility and life skills, being approachable and creative as a teacher, and allowing the learning/teaching process to be interactive and beneficial to all. Throughout my portfolio, I continue to stress the importance of students taking notes and participating in lesson through discussion and other activities and assessments. These skills, which my cooperating teacher is trying to help students develop in his class, are essential for their survival in a high school environment and also useful in any work scenario when trying to learn a given amount of information. I was eager to make myself approachable with the students, which I expressed through my willingness to answer all questions and offer my assistance during any of their assessments or evaluations in the two months that I was there. They seemed very comfortable with me by the end of my stay, which made me feel very good about my ability to create a healthy classroom atmosphere in the future. Education plays an important role in today s classification of social classes, but first we need to understand the different levels of social classes. As an overview, the system that is in use has giving the sitting president a wider berth of nominating the judges that will be given a go ahead by the senators. All the candidates that have been sponsored by a specific party are bound by their political party constitution to be loyal to its political demand. They cannot oppose what their president has proposed. Crandall (2014), confirm this fact where the nomination of the prospective judge end up being an appointment. The purpose of the senators on the either side of the political divide is to check on the powers of the president and prevent skewed nomination. This purpose is not served since the numbers of the majority in the congress are all fighting for the common political interest in the country. The majority is always on the side of the president hence rendering their role null and void. Furthermore, the author explores the tone of the novel by providing specific details. In An mei s childhood story, the author chooses to describe the pain An mei feels as the soup pours over her by providing details of the twinge. She describes it as the kind of pain [specially] terrible that a little child should never remember it and how it still remains in [An mei s] skin s memory (Tan 39). The Concept and History of Cryptography Jpz777 05/15/2013 Order # A2096310 From the codes messages passed furtively throughout the courts of medieval Europe, to the infamous Enigma cipher machine which protected Nazi secrets in World War II, the concept of cryptography is nearly as old as the written word itself. Today, the field of information technology has developed to the point that even the most sophisticated encryption methods are vulnerable, and for those working as information security officers, shielding a company s invaluable data through the use of encryption has become an essential skill. Modern encryption methods rely on much of the same techniques used throughout history, with human readable plaintext being transformed into an unreadable format known as ciphertext upon transmission between two parties, in effort to prevent nefarious third party intrusions. Within the sub field of cryptanalysis a growing focus on mathematical theory has spawned the development of intricately constructed algorithms, or governing systems used to precisely define a sequence of operations (Layton, 2007). Modern cryptographic algorithms are capable of creating computationally secured systems that, while they can be theoretically deciphered, are ostensibly secure from any feasible attack strategy. The most widely applied cryptographic algorithms employed by information security officers today typically fall under one of two categories: Symmetric key cryptography and Public key cryptography (Peltier, Peltier Blackley, ... This free territory was established in the 1600s and lasted about eighty nine years, which is longer than any other quilombo in Brazil. In 1984, the director Carlos Diegues brought this overlooked history back into mainstream consciousness with his film Quilombo. The main historical topic covered in this film is the spirit and resistance of African people once they were separated from their homeland and subjected into slavery. History often portrays these kidnapped Africans as helpless and submissive but they did not give up their freedom quickly or silently. Diegues created this film not just to highlight the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The director includes an optimistic portrayal of Palmares lifestyle while also showing the truth of its instability during its time period. Another important theme explored in this film is the sense of community and love that is fostered in these tight knit quilombos. This is portrayed in the scenes of Zumbi s abduction and later return to Palmares. The community was heartbroken when a Portuguese man stole a little boy and murdered his mother in front of all the children. Although this stunned the community, when Zumbi escaped from his bondage and made it back to Palmares he was met with astonishment and celebration from all of the people. Their spirit was not broken with this minor loss since the outcome of their discovery could have been more catastrophic. This scene depicts the appreciation everyone in Palmares has for being a part of the settlement and for being free from slavery in general. It tells the audience that although the sense of loss of having someone stolen from them is horrible, it is better than the alternative of having everyone separated and sold into slavery. These scenes also ends happily since Zumbi is eventually reunited with the tribe and becomes a prominent member within its ranks. Community is integral in quilombo culture and Palmares is especially close since it lasted so long against colonial powers. While Quilombo is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 39. Literature In Chinese Literature Chinese literature in the first half of the century was characterized by modernization and westernization. Most writers warned to separate from classical Chinese. This included writers such as Zhang Ailing, Lu Xun, and Xiao Hong. Not only did their education have an impact on their beginnings as a writer, but as we can see through their novels, their childhood also have an affect on their writings. Zhang Ailing, also known by her name Eileen Chang, was born into a wealthy family, but she had a troubled childhood. Her father was addicted to opium and she left with her mother to France, and did not return to Chinauntil later on. Her experiences in China were not happy, and when she left, she no longer gave her tales a happy ending. When she went back to Hong Kong and war had broken out, girls were portrayed as caring more about themselves than the actual dangers of the war. One girl, Ailing describes panicking because she did not have enough wardrobe suitable for the war. But it was not only her, it was almost everyone who had a psychological response with some close association with clothing. Ailing gives the example of Sureika, who came from a remote village on the Malay peninsula. She was unlike any other girl at school, she chose medicine instead of the normal education and was seen as naive. After they were instructed to hide, when a bomb had landed next to their dorm, Sureika sorted out her brightest clothes and went to serve as a nurse for Red Cross. Her bright ... The Philosophy And Philosophy Of Ibn Al- Гё Arab Ж’в„ў Category: Religion/Philosophy/Islamic Philosophy and Theology The main themes of the book consist of epistemological tools, i.e. revelation, the human intellect, inspiration unveiling used by Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya, and a theological subject, the divine names and attributes that they have detailed elaborations on it. Synopsis: The purpose of the book is to focus on potential similarities found in epistemological hierarchies of Ibn al КїArabД« (d. 1240) and Ibn Taymiyya (d. 1328), and reflections of these similarities on their theologies. At the first part of the book, which comprises of two chapters, I examine revelation, the human intellect, and inspiration unveiling as epistemological means used by both Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya. Both of them claim to have followed precisely the Quran and hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad when religious knowledge is in question. Unlike some philosophers and Kalam theologians, who may consider the human intellect valuable equally with the revelation, Ibn al КїArabД« and Ibn Taymiyya affirm the highest status of the Quran and hadiths indisputably. Having confirmed the most elevated status of the revelation, namely the Quran and hadiths, they differ prominently. For Ibn al КїArabД« the most reliable way of religious knowledge is unveiling while for Ibn Taymiyya, the human intellect must be given precedence over unveiling.
