Describe Yourself College Essay
Describing oneself in a college essay may seem like a straightforward task, but it is far more
challenging than it appears at first glance. The difficulty lies not only in articulating personal
attributes and achievements but also in striking a balance between self-promotion and humility.
Crafting an essay that captures the essence of one's personality, experiences, and aspirations
without sounding boastful or insincere requires a delicate touch.
Attempting to encapsulate a lifetime of experiences and personal growth within a limited word
count is a daunting task. The challenge is to choose the most significant aspects of oneself that
not only showcase individuality but also resonate with the values and expectations of the target
college. It requires introspection, self-awareness, and the ability to present a coherent narrative
that engages the reader from the opening sentence to the final paragraph.
Furthermore, the pressure to stand out among a pool of talented and ambitious applicants adds
an extra layer of complexity. Striking the right tone and conveying authenticity are crucial in
order to avoid clichГ©s and stereotypes that can diminish the impact of the essay. It's a fine line
between being memorable and falling into the trap of overused phrases or generic anecdotes.
Additionally, the fear of being judged or misunderstood can hinder the creative process.
Expressing vulnerabilities, failures, and personal growth requires courage, and finding the right
balance between highlighting strengths and acknowledging weaknesses is a delicate art.
In conclusion, writing a "Describe Yourself College Essay" is a formidable task that goes beyond
the mere act of putting words on paper. It involves a deep exploration of one's identity, a
thoughtful selection of experiences to share, and a skillful execution to weave them into a
compelling narrative. It demands not only literary prowess but also a profound understanding of
oneself and the target audience.
If the process becomes too overwhelming or time-consuming, there are resources available for
assistance. Services like HelpWriting.net provide professional support in crafting personalized
and impactful essays tailored to individual needs. These services can help navigate the challenges
of self-expression, ensuring that the final essay stands out in the competitive college admissions
process.

Comparing Daisy and Countess Olenska in Daisy Miller
and...
The story Daisy Miller is a romance of a love that can never be. The character Annie
P. Miller (known as Daisy Miller) is portrayed as a young naive wild yet, innocent
girl who want to do nothing more but have fun with the company she please. The
story Daisy Miller is a lot like The Age of Innocence. In both the movie and the book
the leading ladywas shunned from society because of their behavior. Both Daisy and
the Countess Olenska were misunderstood and out casted because they were saw as
different. These women did not want to conform to what the society thoughtwas
proper and good, they had their own opinion and was bold in their time to state it.
Daisy thought it was okay, even nice to have many gentlemen friends. She did not ...

She enjoyed herself and that was enough for her to be happy.
The Countess Olenska was much like Daisy. The Countess was a free sprit who
did not care that society did not agree with her suing for a divorce. She wanted to
be free. She hated when everyone that she felt were so nice turned and gave her the
cold shoulder. The Countess did not like being shunned so she did give
consideration to society s chants. She did not sue for the divorce but she refused to
go back to her husband. Society was not the reason for her actions although,
considered, did not make the final decision.
Like every romance there has to be a charming gentlemen. In The Age of Innocence
there were Newland and Winterborne in Daisy Miller . These two man were a lot
alike and in so many ways so different. They were different because of their
circumstance but also had different point of views. They were both gentlemen and
made choices as gentlemen should.
Newland was a gentlemen gentleman. He did not like for people to talk ghastly of
The Countess. He felt she should make her own choice. Newland was inclined to a
woman being equal to and having equal freedom as a man. Newland, however, had
a set of circumstance that made this romance go for a loop. Newland was engaged
to The Countess Olenska s cousin. The fact did not stop him from confessing his
love to The Countess. He made the choice to go ahead with the wedding, with the
help of The Countess Olenska, just as
Football Injuries In Football
Unlike the Greek hero Achilles, soccer players have more than one weak spot. The
lower extremities particularly the knees and ankles are most frequently affected,
but the other areas of the body are also punished by this widely played sport and are
not immune to injury. Most of these injuries are superficial, and play can be resumed
after a short layoff. Now and then, a player may suffer a more than serious injury,
which requires appropriate first aidand further expert treatment.
1.Skin Injuries
As an external protective covering of the human body, the skin is particularly
vulnerable to sports injuries. Abrasions, skin detachment or lacerations are not
uncommon on the soccer field. These skin injuries can be very painful but are
usually harmless and heal quickly with no external intervention. Larger wounds must
first be cleaned, then disinfected and eventually wrapped with a sterile dressing.
Always bear in mind that a skin injury enables germs to enter the body; therefore a
wound always presents the danger of infection.
a.Abrasions
First Aid
To reduce the risk of infection, the surface of the wound should be cleaned with a
Ringer s or saline solution. Then disinfect the wound with a gentle skin disinfectant
and cover it with a sterile, non adhesive wound dressing. Play can usually then be
resumed immediately

Later in the healing process, an infection must be prevented. If necessary, the bandage
should be changed daily and the wound cleaned with an
Free Range Parenting Is Too Dangerous For Children

One afternoon last december, in Washington, DC, police was alerted by a person
to pick up a brother and sister, who were walking a mile heading home, and take
them to their parents. After the police took the kids home, he warned the kids father
of potential dangers that his kids could have faced while walking unsupervised.
(Griffin) These days, there are many other cases similar to this where kids walking
home unsupervised are reported to authority and taken into supervision with their
parents being warned in some ways as a consequence. So what makes kids walking
home unsupervised such a nation wide controversy? Free range parenting. Nowadays,
free range parenting is quite a big issue as the world is changing so rapidly and is
no longer the same world that parents in this generation could freely roam around in
their own childhood. Some argue that free range parenting is nothing more than a
mere negligence over their children in that the world is now simply too dangerous
for the children to explore on their own. They say that the world is no longer safe
for a child to be outside alone and that so called free range parenting is just being
irresponsible parents. However, they are wrong. Although free range parenting may
look so dangerous and unnecessarily risky, it, in fact, has far more advantages than
disadvantages and is and has been an enormous necessity when raising children for a
number of reasons: it makes
Homecoming Parade Float
The idea of doing a float for the homecoming parade as a way of demonstrating
already known leadership and technical skills in conjunction with using the
leadership skills and techniques that we have learned over the last weeks was a
great idea. Not only was this classroom knowledge that was learned but it was also
applied and showed how we as individuals could use this knowledge on such
projects as a parade float or on other projects that we might have in the future. For
most classes all the educationis applying and testing book smarts and not digging
into any street smarts at all and with this project it did the exact opposite and
allowed people to truly show their places when it comes to completing a project from

I thought it would be a float that would be pretty easy to put together and simple
but as we dove into it I realized that wasn t the case and required a lot more work
than what originally thought. Throughout the process of the float from start to
finish I felt I was an active participant from helping in class, after class by helping
build and gather materials, participating in the parade and helping tear down the
float in order to return the trailer. I felt I helped out quite a bit in all these phases
from thinking of ideas when we were in the design phase, thinking of supplies and
making a list when we were trying to figure out what we needed to build the ship,
helping build the ship from the frame to putting cardboard on the plywood and
standing the mass, to at the end participating in the homecoming parade holding
the flag on the back of the ship to helping tear it apart at the end. Although I felt like
I was an active participant I didn t feel like everyone played a major role or pulled
their weight in the whole process. I feel like some people helped in some parts and

school students will have to earn their Associate of Arts (A.A) degree, which will
take most students to achieve in two years. Then, students will have to earn their
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), while passing the National Council Licensure

Essay about Impact of Sea Otters on Community Ecology
Introduction Sea otters (Enhydra lutris) are marine mammals capable of spending
their entire lives in water. Being carnivorous in nature, they feed on sea urchins,
crabs, fishes, mussels and clams. They are referred to as keystone species due to
their profound impact on marine ecology. The interaction between sea otters, sea
urchins and kelp forests has been studied as a model for the impact of predator prey
interactions on community ecology. Sea otters are keystone predators, whose
presence has a far reaching influence on the marine food web by affecting the
populations of sea urchins, which indirectly affects the populations of kelp... Show

Therefore, sea otters play an indirect, yet vital role in the preservation of kelp
forests. This in turn protects kelp forests and other macroalgae, which would have
otherwise been depleted due to grazing by sea urchins. Where sea otters abound so
do lush kelp forests, and where sea otters are absent the habitat is typically
deforested by hyperabundant sea urchins (SoulГ© et al 1240). The significance of
this interaction can be wholly surmised only when the importance of kelp forests is
understood. Kelp forests are a source of food and habitat for dozens of other coastal
species (SoulГ© et al 1240). Innumerable coastal marine organisms thrive on kelp
forests, enhancing biodiversity of the region. Therefore, to maintain the diversity and
richness of coastal marine ecology, sea otters should be preserved, who indirectly
lead to the preservation of kelps. Impact of sea otters on community ecology The
presence or absence of sea otters influences marine ecology at the community level.
Studies have shown that kelp forests enhance the underwater environment, providing
a suitable habitat for fishes. The declining kelp beds in California in the mid 1900 s
propelled the Kelp Habitat Improvement Project, whereby attempts were made to
eliminate sea urchins that are
Film Analysis Of Edward Scissorhands
Tim Burton s Edward Scissorhands film was nothing less than phenomenal from all
perspectives. The moral is not to judge someone based off appearances or on the
basis that they are different from you. This was all achieved by using cinematic
elements such as lighting, sound, camera an gles, and wardrobe. This films message
really made the audience think and feel as if they were playing a role in the movie
themselves. The fantasy film Edward Scissorhandsoffers insight into reality using
immoderation, to show people s prejudices, which were created by the deficiency of
knowledge amongst the towns people. The first technique that plays a key factor in
the moral of this film is the lighting, the lighting changes throughout the film to
capture emotion, especially from the audience. In the opening scenes of Edward
Scissorhands the lighting is darker, also a lot of low light to show spookiness or
mystery. When Peg has her first encounter with Edward in his mansion on the hill
there is a use on low light on Edward to spark danger, although it wasn t until he
comes fully out of the dark corner in the attic to reveal that he is a innocent looking
boy. Edward also softly told Peg to not leave even though she was frightened, which
catered to his innocence. Throughout the movie the lighting remains neutral, showing
that everything is in full color, except for some in stances at the end. It is not until
Edward gets in trouble for Kim, the daughter of Peg who he is love with. At this

Law Firms Face Technological Minefield to Preserve Legal Professional Privilege
True or False?
True. But not entirely, as legal practice managers can turn the answer around. Let me
explain, and then you can make up your own mind.
Electronic communications could pose a risk true
Lawyers and their clients communicate frequently. In this world of advanced
technology, these communications no longer take place just through good old
letters or via a simple phone call. They now take place largely through emails and
sometimes even via text messages or other messaging services such as Skype.
Personally, I had the experience of one client asking me a legal question over a group
WhatsApp channel. I had to (gently!) educate this client on a number of things... I
will come back to education shortly. The point I want to make here is this electronic
communications are thought by many to put at risk the confidentiality of legal
communications between a lawyer and a client. Modern communications
technologies have made what once would have been limited disclosure in a closed
environment to now easily available to pretty much anyone who has an online
presence.
Technology could help protect legal professional privilege true
For the legal profession, it is true that there is a vast array of technology that can be
used for lawyer client communication. It is also true that clients now expect to be able
to communicate via electronic means and even via social media. In this light,
Bronchitis Is Contagious Case Study
Bronchitis How Long Is It Contagious This is a disease which has to do with when
the bronchi starts experiencing inflammation. It is a diseases that has to do with
the infections of the respiratory system and also caused by virus or bacteria.
Chronic bronchi is a disease that does affect people regardless of their ages. Such
can be said to be COPD which is an acronym for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary
Diseases. Is it contagious in nature? Two answers can be appropriate for such a
question which are yes it is and no it isn t at the same time. Bronchi can only be
contagious when it is caused by bacteria or virus. Cases relating to bronchi that are
contagious are very few. That is to say; such cases are acute cases and not the
chronic ones.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other to have it diagnosed, an X ray is used. The different nature of bronchitis
means that its treatments adopted will be different. For instance; when it is acute
bronchitis, antibiotics will be used. You can also drink plenty of fluids and have
some rest. On the other hand, chronic bronchitis can be treated using therapies,
medication, bronchodilators and so on. How can it be prevented? As explained
above, the best thing to do about this infection is to ensure that you prevent it. At
least preventive measures will help to ensure that it is completely avoided. пѓјThe
best and most reliable way to have it prevented is through vaccination. пѓјIf there are
persons around you that have any kind of respiratory disorders, you should try as
much as you can to avoid such company. пѓјDon t share personal items such as
toothbrush, towel, and clothes with persons with respiratory disorder. пѓјQuit

Irish Potato Research Paper
The History of the Potato
During spring break, I made Irish potato pancakes with my sister. I was inspired to
make this after we played the industrial revolution game and heard about the Irish
potato famine. Also, being March, it was the perfect time to make something Irish.
While making this recipe I learned how to use potatoes to make something more than
boiled or mashed potatoes. I also learned more about the history of potatoes.
The potato was first cultivated in South America. Spanish conquistadors first
encountered the potato when they arrived in Peru in 1532 in search of gold and
gradually began to use potatoes as basic rations aboard their ships. After the arrival of
the potato in Spain, potatoes slowly spread to other European countries
The New Obligatory National Living Wage
Introduction
On the 1st April, 2016, the new obligatory National Living Wage (NLW) was set,
rising from a minimum amount of ВЈ6.70 to ВЈ7.20 per hour an hourly addition of 50
pence only for those aged 25 and over. It was expected to benefit 1.8 million people
and to provide an instant pay rise for approximately 6 million people across the UK.
The target is that, by 2020, the NLW will increase to at least ВЈ9 an hour (BBC
News, 2016)1. The aim of increasing the National Living Wagewas to create a higher
wage, lower welfare economy. (Osborne, G., 2016. Cited in BBC News, 2016)2.
Since the rise of the NLW, it has been made evident that numerous businesses across
the UK are being significantly impacted by this change, for instance, many ... Show

The business was unable to pay the new NLW without reducing expenditure
elsewhere, this reduction included cutting Sunday pay and bonuses, and reducing
bank holiday pay. Therefore, whilst B Q was increasing the minimum pay of their
workers, they were also reducing their privileges, and so productivity and
profitability both reduced. A solution to the issues caused by the increased NLW
could be that B Q alters their organisational objectives.
Commentary
There were a few main themes and ideas that recurred across most of the
supporting documents (see appendices, p.6 X); one main theme is that it seems as
though the NLW rise will benefit employees, when in fact several businesses,
including B Q, are finding ways, such as cuts to employee benefits (Butler, S.
2016)3, in order to fund the increased NLW, and thus defeating one of the reasons
for the new NLW s enforcement, being to benefit the recipients, employees over 25
years of age. Another main theme is that the NLW will have future affects as well,
due to the aim being for the NLW to rise to more than ВЈ9 an hour by 2020 and the
independent Office for Budget Responsibility has warned that 60,000 jobs could go
as a result (BBC News, 2016)1. As they believe that firms [will] recruit more under
25s, who will be on a lower rate. (BBC News, 2016)4.

issues caused by the NLW rise

The Impact Media has During War
Spanish American War of 1898
It was late in the evening and the battleship the Maine drifted calmly through the
water of Havana to protect Americas interests stated be Fitzhugh Lee. Everything
seemed to be looking bright with a new Spanish ruler in Cuba. Even many of the
officers were entertained by the Spanish and thoughts of going home were in the air.
The small battleship was second class to that of its counterparts in the Pacific. It was
the biggest battleship to enter the Havana harbor. As soon as the calmnight appeared,
roaring explosions and blinding flashes filled the air. Could the battleship Maine be

The media was the cause of such an uproar from the general public. Soon after the
explosion and before the investigations, the newspapers already wrote about Spain
attacking and for the people to be ready for the war. This wasn t the first time the
newspaper started such pandemonium. It all started with Joseph Pulitzer and William
Randolph Hearst starting a form of writing called yellow journalism. These two
people brought media into a war and may have even started the Spanish American
War of 1898.
To get an idea of what truly happened, the background of this war must be stated. At
this time Cuba was trying to gain independence form Spain. Spain was trying to so
anything in their power to control this. So the decided to hire General Valeriano
Weyler to do all of their dirty work for them. He had a past that was very violent
when it came to wars. He decided to establish a system called the reconcentrado.
This was a system where they decided to take all the Cubans that lived in the country
side and put them in camps where they did not have a possibility to join the
revolution. With all of these things happening in Cuba, President Cleveland and
President McKinley wanted to stay neutral. Also during this time, the United States
was still thinking about the idea of Manifest Destiny and American Imperialism.
Since land has already been claimed by the United States from coast to coast, they
have to search elsewhere for expanding the country.
Personal Ambition In Macbeth
Personal ambition was an important value during the Renaissance time period in
England. Personal ambition was also a vital part of two of the most prominent
novels in england s history, Paradise Lost by John Milton and Macbeth by William
Shakespeare. It In each story, both of the main female characters, Eve and Lady
Macbeth, portray the idea of personal ambition at its best by their ability to
manipulate. Lady Macbeth is the one who takes advantage of her husband s,
Macbeth, emotions in order to become queen. Eve, however, is very curious about
herself and after she eats the fruit from the forbidden tree she starts to view herself
as Adam s equal and wants to possibly be superior to him. Both Shakespeare and
Milton viewed ambition as a strength but at the same time it can be a weakness and
the downfall for certain people or characters in life or stories. Lady Macbeth as a
character was very ambitious. She is debatably one of the more powerful characters
in all of literature. Her burning ambition to be queen is the single feature that
Shakespeare developed far beyond that of her counterpart in the historical story he
used as his source. Lady Macbeth is the one who originally plots duncan s murder and
manipulates Macbeth into proceeding with the murder by questioning his manhood
saying, To be the same in thine own act and valour. As thou art in desire? Wouldst
thou have that. Which thou esteem st the ornament of life, And live a coward in
thine own esteem, Letting I
Essay Birth Defects
Birth defects, or congenital malformations, are the faulty formation of structures or
body parts present at birth.
Sporadic, hereditary, or acquired defects may be immediately observed or may
become manifest later in life; they may be visible on the body surface or present
internally. Birth defects may be life threatening and require surgical correction, or
they may interfere with function or appearance. It is estimated that about 3% of all
children are born with major defects; minor defects or variations are estimated to
occur in 10% to 15% of births.
Malformations may be single or multiple. Multiple malformations that occur in a
regular recognizable pattern are referred to as syndromes for example, the FETAL
ALCOHOL SYNDROME

In cases of autosomal recessive inheritance, both parents are normal but each carries
a silent, or recessive, gene that, if matched in an offspring, causes the birth defect.
Because both parents are so called carriers (heterozygotes) of the same abnormal
gene, they run a 25% risk (1 in 4) of having a child with the birth defect caused by
that particular gene. Examples of birth defects inherited in this autosomal recessive
manner are TAY SACHS
DISEASE and SICKLE CELL ANEMIA. In cases of X linked recessive inheritance
the abnormal gene is located on the X chromosome.
The normal mother has two X chromosomes, one of which carries the gene for the
abnormal condition; but if her son inherits her X chromosome with the abnormal
gene, he will be affected with the condition. HEMOPHILIA is inherited in this matter.
Multifactorial Defects
Many common birth defects do not occur in a pattern that indicates simple Mendelian
inheritance. They seem to result from an interaction of genes and the environment,
including the intrauterine environment, and each factor includes a number of
different hereditary and environmental influences; hence, these defects are called
multifactorial. Among them are congenital heart disease; neural tube defects,
including
SPINA BIFIDA, myelomeningocele, and anencephaly; and CLUBFOOT, CLEFT LIP
AND PALATE, and dislocated hips.
Chromosome Number An increase or decrease in the total chromosome material can
cause birth defects. For
Navajo-Hopi Case
Environmental justice is the fair treatment and meaningful involvement of all people
regardless of race, color, national origin, or income with respect to the development,
implementation, and enforcement of environmental laws, regulations, and policies
(www.epa.gov.). The case of Navajo Hopi Struggle to Protect the Big Mountain
Reservation provides evidence of an environmental justice framework. In 1974 the
government divided the land on Big Mountain Reservation for the purpose of
mining. During this time the Hopi and Navajo tribe lived there. The federal
government split up the land where these tribes resided and transferred portions of
the land to private ownership. This caused many of the natives to relocate from this
area, however many
The Characters Of Mother Teresa
Usually, peacemakers in society are not readily known to a large extent because the
meaning of their actions is sometimes not recognized. However, it was evident that
Mother Teresa was indeed a peacemaker by her love for the poor and passion stood
out to many. Her life story has convicted and inspired many throughout history.
Notwithstanding, her humble demeanor and sterling example continues to influence
others around the world. According to the thesaurus, a peacemaker is someone who
settles problems. Subsequently, peacemakers are people who breathe grace.
Furthermore, peacemakers allow themselves to be used as instruments to relieve
anger, improve understanding, promote justice and encourage others. Therefore, the
writer believes that Mother Teresatruly exemplified the character of a peacemaker
(Sageleaf, 2015).
Family Background and Passion Mother Teresa of Calcutta, a Roman Catholic nun

youngest of five children that were born to Nikola and Dronda Bojaxhiu who were
Albanian grocers. She grew up with a strong faith and spent much time in the
church. Correspondingly, she knew from an early age that she wanted to become a
missionary. Around age twelve, she felt a calling to follow the Lord to become a
missionary to spread the love and peace of Jesus Christ. Mother Teresa took her
vows as a nun on the 24th May 1931. Equally important, the writer believes that as a
result of her faith in God,

Native American Beliefs And Beliefs
Native American Religions and Cultures in the Midwest
[Thesis]
Native American religions in the Midwest shaped the way for their tribes to grow
their religions opened up many opportunities to create alliances but also start wars.
The culture that was introduced by their religions help them and help us understand
more about the time and place they were in; The people of these tribes are still
affected dearly by these religions so much that they are still followed till this day.
[History and Story]
The history and lore of the Sioux tribes religion are quite interesting. They had
massive birds called Thunder birds they came down when there was or right before
a storm and would swoop up small children and animals; Or there was the White
Buffalo Woman who gave each tribe a medicine pipe that allowed the medicine man
that was the tribe s head religious figure communicate with spirits for guidance and
to find a small glimpse of the future. These are the things that make the Sioux
religion exotic, but understandable with logical reasons for their beliefs. I m now

reason why he doesn t want any consequences in his life anymore. Krebs has
chosen to rid his life of all possible consequences he could face in the future. This
includes his choice to stay away from finding work, girls, and even loved ones.
This distancing is seen further when Krebs tells his mother he doesn t love her.
Love in his mind leads to consequences and the army has taught him that you don t

Jackie Robinson Turning Points
Can turning points in a single person s life change a whole society? A turning point
can be described as a life changing event that teaches someone about themselves or
the world around them. People who endure a life changing event can respond

Robinson, the memoir Warriors Don t Cry by Melba Pattillo Beals, and the article The
Father of Chinese Aviation , by Rebecca Maksel, each of the individuals faced
turning points. Jackie Robinson Melba Pattillo Beals and Feng Ru faced life

He was challenged by events along the way, such as multiple broken planes,
burning of his shack, and relocation. In paragraph six San Francisco s earthquake
caused him to relocate. and in paragraph seven plunged into his workshop setting it

journey to become one of the pioneers of Chinese aviation. These events caused
Feng Ru to grow into the first aviator to fly off Chinese soil and become
knowledgeable in aviation. For example, in paragraph six Rarely finished work

China and nothing was going to stop him. Throughout his journey to become the first
aviator in China his reactions impacted his country by inspiring China s space
program and brought industrialization and aviation to China. For example, in
paragraph thirteen the text states the words Chinese Aviation Pioneer were engraved
upon Feng s tombstone. To sum up, these are ways Feng Ru faced a life changing
experience just as Jackie Robinson and Melba Patillo Beals
The Assassination Of Jfk By Lee Harvey Oswald
The shot seen across the country. The assassination of JFK still stands today as
one of the most shocking events in American history. Its had a larger impact
because of the fact that it was on national television and because of its graphic
nature. Since we will never know the true motive of Lee Harvey Oswald, the only
thing that we could do is make our own assumptions. That is what we ve done,
which have only made things more difficult for us to grasp and have created more
conspiracy theories. I will get into the immediate effects that his actions caused
such as the Warren Commission and what the report said and did. Mystery still
surrounds this whole event because he was killed before he could even go on trial
for his murders. That s also what ties in Jack Ruby to a conspiracy because killing
Oswald, made it look like he was trying to hide something. This event has a lot of
moving parts, especially with all of the different conspiracy theories. I wasn t all
that familiar with the details of the assassination, but after gathering all of the
information and reading about all the conspiracy theories, they all seem to be real
possibilities. All of the theories do seem a little far fetched, but they all have some
good evidence to support it. All I can say is that learning about this assassination has
certainly made me think. I will explain who John F. Kennedywas, what he stood for,
and what he accomplished during his presidency. Also about Lee Harvey Oswald and

Human Diversity Issues In Social Work
There are several issues related to issues of human diversity that have influenced the
development of my interest in social work. As I take a look around my community
and what is occurring in the world I notice the different cultures, environments, and
lack of humanity. I took an interest in these three categories and learned there are
recurring issues within each. There is a lack of cultural competency in the society.
Different cultures do not interact effectively with one another as much as they
should. A person may interact differently with a certain cultureonce they are forced
or need to. For example, a person may only interact with a person from a different
culture for work purposes or attending a certain event. Majority of people (cultures)...

The Central Theme and Symbolism of William Faulkner s

William Faulkner s central theme in the story A Rose For Emily is to let go of the
past. The main character in the story, Emily Grierson, has a tendency to cling to the
past and has a reluctance to be independent. Faulkner uses symbols throughout the
story to cloak an almost allegorical correlation to the reconstruction period of the
South. Even these symbols are open to interpretation; they are the heart and soul of
the story. With the literal meaning of Faulkner s story implies many different
conclusions, it is primarily the psychological and symbolic aspects, which give the
story meaning. Miss Emily cannot accept change to any degree. She is unable to

The fact that Miss Emily is dressed in white proves her purity. Another point is how
Emily is in the background, further proving her submission towards her father. The
horsewhip symbolizes the power Miss Emily s father has over her. Her father is
domineering and controlling and sadly, that is all she knows. It is no surprise
when Miss Emily s father dies, she does not know what to do, being left alone, and
a pauper (471). The corpse of her father remains in the house for three days while
Miss Emily refuses to accept the fact that he is actually dead. The narrator s
description of her at the funeral is evidence of sympathy the inhabitants feel
toward her; We did not say she was crazy then. We believed she had to do that. We
remembered all the young men her father had driven away, and we knew that with
nothing left, she would have to cling to that which had robbed her, as people will

that Emily?s father still has a powerful control over her. Colonel Satoris, a member
of the Old South, pardons Miss Emily s taxes shortly after her father dies. He
produces a fib that the town owes Miss Emily s father money, so it wouldn t seem
like he has made a charitable attempt to help Emily s financial woes. Colonel
Satoris also sends his children to her house for china painting lessons. After the old
generation is replaced by the new, the city begins to ask Miss Emily for her
Hydrogen Extraction Process For The Recovery Of Heavy
Oil...
Abstract
Vapor extraction process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen was originally
proposed by Dr. Butler during 1989 1991. Since its evolution, vapor extraction has
emerged as a very effective and promising technique mainly due to its environment
friendly nature and cost effectiveness as compared to other recovery techniques.
Vapex is basically an in situ recovery process which injects a vaporized
hydrocarbon solvent in the injection well to reduce the viscosity the heavy oil and
bitumen and allows it to drain out of the production well through gravity drainage.
Mass transfer of vaporized solvent to heavy oil and the gravity drainage are the key
parameters which mainly determine the production rate of heavy oil and bitumen
with reduced viscosity. This report provides a brief idea about the current heavy oil
and bitumen deposits in Canada, a better insight of the Vapex process and the factors
which affect the efficiency of the process. Several factors that scale up the
performance of the process and important limitations are also indentified that need
further research for future growth of the process.
INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND
Energy is the most important factor for growth and development. Petroleum being the
primary source of energy can be categorized into conventional and non conventional
forms based on the viscosity and API gravity. Heavy oil and Bitumen are the non
conventional forms of energy which are often referred as oil sands or tar sands having

Car Market
The car market is at the forefront of many homes within the society today. At some
point in everyone s life they have to purchase a car or someone close to them makes
that big purchase in their life. Throughout this paper I am going to discuss a few
things when we talk about car markets. First I am going share whether or not I
believe the car market has an asymmetrical information problem. Then I will share
what the markets response to adverse selection. Next, I will highlight the car market s
response to moral hazard. When we think as a market signal , I will be considering
whether or not education can help companies make better economic decisions when
asymmetric information exist. Finally I would share what I believe the market
response would be if there was perfect information.
Market response to asymmetric information
In many markets, asymmetric information is a problem, such as the insurance
markets, credit markets and even the car markets. This is simply where one person
in the exchange knows significantly more than the other (Lillo 2013). I believe in
the car market, there is definitely a asymmetric information problem. I think it may
be a more common issue when we talk about some of the smaller car lots or used car
lots. Often times individuals go to those lots thinking they are
Spoon River Poetry Analysis
The 1915 poetry collection, Spoon River Anthology, by Edgar Lee Masters, offers a
portrait of daily life in a fictional Illinois town, Spoon River. As is evident from the
poems Spoon River was an economic boom town which profited greatly from its
proximity to rail roads and a major waterway. Regardless of its prosperity, Spoon
Riverseems to have remained a demographically small town, and the neighbors all
knew each other very well, and a clear social hierarchy formed. One of the more
interesting aspects of the Spoon River Anthologyis that the poems contained therein
are a series of grave epitaphs that tell a story about each deceased resident. Often,
graveyards themselves can serve as reminders of social hierarchies in the world of
the living. Typically, only those decedents who had family members and a
community who cared for them would be laid to rest in the community grave; the
potter s field and the crematorium awaited those who passed away without family, in
debt, or with a criminal record. Thus, the initial assessment of the deceased within the
Spoon River graveyard would be that they were
good people in their lives.
Indeed, many of the epitaphs depict the decedents as moral, hardworking, and decent
people. However, when cross referencing the epitaphs from each citizen, it becomes
clear that the prominent members of Spoon River were incredibly corrupt in their
day to day behavior. Ultimately, Masters explores ethics in Spoon River Anthology by
studying the fine

Descriptive Essay On Earth Shot On Apple
Nothing is quite beautiful alone; nothing but is beautiful in the whole. A single
object is only so far beautiful as it suggests this universal grace. written by Ralph
Waldo Emerson in Nature highlights the difference in perspective viewing Earth
from an external perspective versus our own perspective. Stuck in our own world
only we see what is in front of us restricting us from seeing the larger whole of our
real home. Captured on apple devices and compiled in an advertisement, EarthShot on
iPhone exhibits locations from all across the world reminding viewers of what we as
humans have forgotten and how mankind has treated its only home for countless
generations. The remaining art of nature which exists to satisfy the desire of beauty
calls to action that we are the ones responsible to maintain our planetand it is crucial
to protect the environment from our own doing. Narrated by Carl Sagan, Earth Shot
on iPhone presents viewers with a slow paced, thought provoking advertisement that
stresses the beauty and significance our planet. Opening with a shot of a shore
looking out the the ocean, the sunset sets a calm tone while a human figure walks
slowly across the shore giving a sense of loneliness in such a vast landscape. Warm
colors such as orange, and yellow peek the horizon while cool blue dominates the
sky and reflects off the soaked, smooth sand. In another shot captured on the iPhone,
we are hooked by an image of a valley covered in dark green pine trees. The
Homemade Is The New Organic By Rachel Jones For The

Nowadays, many people start living a healthy lifestyle. People realize an
importance of caring about what is in their food and benefits of home cooked meals
over processed food. Home Cooking is not just healthier, but also it has tons of
benefits. Simple examples are saving money, controlling body weight and avoiding
foodpoisoning. Homemade is the New Organic written by Rachel Jones for the
Atlantic (2015), discussed the new food trend cookingat home. In her article, she
explained how cooking is becoming popular recently. An earlier time, a family
which has low income had no choice but to use homemade food. Today, however,
meaning of homemade food changes. People start to appreciate the goodness of
cooking at home and intentionally choose the homemade. Moreover, she mentioned
that social media has a huge effect on this change. Since we have all the necessary
tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she
tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life.
In my opinion, Rachel successfully achieves her intention with the help of following
rhetorical strategies: logos, ethos and counterpoint.
First, Rachel adopts logos to illustrate the emerging importance of homemade meals
to the audience. In other words, using general reasoning and facts, she tried to make
her article more persuading. In the beginning of the article, she acknowledges her
personal facts to demonstrate her idea. For example, she

burns my skin. Unfortunately, my foot has left a scar. After that my mothertold me a

my scar. She was sad. Her compunction about she did not care me well. And she
told me the white scar look like a rabbit with a basket, so if someone asks what

My First Day At The College
It was a warm autumn morning and the sun was just rising on the horizon. I was
already awake and ready for my first day at the college. Later I found myself
standing crusted like a statue behind the white door which reminded me an endless
emotional tension that I usually experience all the time while facing a simple for
some people but for me a very difficult situation to deal with. For a long period of
time a very deep anxietyand nervousness had been my only response to the
situations when I had to interact with new people. Communication has always
been an unsolvable issue in my life as long as I remember myself, which caused
me a lot of trouble during my daily life and, i always tried to avoid it and couldn t
find a will power or capabilities to overcome it meanwhile realizing that my life
would have been a lot easier than at that moment.
Finally, I could suppress my nervousness and after taking a deep breath I opened
the door and quietly entered the classroom. It was dark and unwelcoming like on
purpose adding more anxiety to my already bad situation. There were two students
sitting, one of them was in the very front seat right before the teacher s seat with a
notebook and a book on the desk ready for the class. For a moment he cast a quick
glance at me, l guess expecting to see the instructor instead of me, he just looked at
me very indifferently. The other student was in the very last seat plunged into his

Essay On Same Sex Marriage
Same sex marriage, otherwise called gay marriage, will be marriage between
individuals of a similar sex, either as a common service or in a religious setting. The
term marriage correspondence alludes to a political status in which same sex
marriage and inverse sex marriage are thought about lawfully equivalent.
In the late twentieth century, customs of marriage for same sex couples without
legitimate acknowledgment turned out to be progressively normal. The principal law
accommodating marriage of individuals of a similar sex in present day times was
instituted in 2001 in the Netherlands. Starting at 15 November 2017, same sex
marriage is lawfully perceived. Polls demonstrate rising help for lawfully
perceiving same sex marriage in the Americas, Australia and the greater part of
Europe. However, starting at 2017, South Africa is the main African nation where
same sex marriage is perceived. Taiwan would turn into the primary nation in Asia
to authorize same sex marriage if the Civil Code is revised. Two other Asian nations,
to be specific Israel and Armenia perceive same sex relational unions performed
outside the nation for some purposes.
Presentation of same sex marriage laws has fluctuated by ward, being differently

of established assurances of correspondence, or by coordinate prevalent vote (by
means of poll activity or choice). The acknowledgment of same sex marriage is a

The First Signs Of Music Therapy Essay
The use of music for therapy has been seen to exist for almost as long as the start of
therapy itself. At around 400 B.C., Hippocrates, a Greek physician known for his
tremendous contributions to modern medicine, was shown to be the first human to
use music as a way to therapeutically treat mental patients. Since then, records of
other civilizations such as the Egyptians, Arabians, and even the Native Americans
show signs of the use of music in medicine. This form of therapy was said to help
align the soul and the body together. However, it was not until the 18th century that
researchers have studied how music affects the nerves themselves (Gouk, 2004). The
first signs of music therapy used in the modern world were predominantly in the
United Kingdom after World War I (Degmecic, 2005). Musicians played to war
veterans suffering from both mental and physical trauma to help alleviate their pain.
As these veterans were seen having positive responses to the music played, doctors
hired more musicians to help play at veteran hospitals. Seeing the positive feedback
and recovery of the veterans prompted the use of music therapy to become an actual
academic curriculum taught in college courses. Currently, the leading organization
that focuses primarily on music therapy is the American Music Therapy Association
(AMTA) which was formed in 1998. Their team of music therapists has helped
countless of patients improve both their physical and emotional help with the use of
music. Music

Descartes was a famous French mathematician, scientist, and philosopher throughout
the mid 1600 s. He is often regarded as the father of modern philosophy; however,
his highly influential ideas have also impacted many other scientific fields, including
the world of psychology. Descartes contributions in philosophy and biology have had

It can also be argued that these contributions paved the path for modern behavioral
psychology and more specifically the concept of stimulus response. This type of
psychology focuses on how people behave. Modern behavioral psychologists test
this idea that the brain in responsible for behavior and thinking by manipulating
situations and studying reactions. Descartes had a very mechanistic view of the
brain. He believed the body works similar to machines as it is material and follows
laws of physics. He suggests that mind and body interact at the pineal gland. He

Descartes did a lot of his studies about biology by using animals, just as many
researchers in psychology do today. He opened up the possibility of using animals

But the law has evolved to where the seller has to disclose material, latent defects
that they are aware of pertaining to the home that is being sold. Failure to disclose
defects is a part of the evolution of the law. Under failure to disclose, if the seller is
found o have known about a material defect, not disclosed the defect, and the buyer
relies on the seller s word to their detriment, the seller is found to be liable to failure
to disclose. For example, in Johnson v. Davis, 480 So. 2d. 625, the Johnson s know
of the leaky roof in the home that they were selling to the Davises, but the
represented the home as if there were no defects. The Courts rules in the Davises
favor because the Johnsons had a duty to disclose defects that are material so that
the buyer will not rely detrimentally on them. The same rule applies in the Powell v.
Knox case. The current case distinguishes from the Johnson v. Davis case because
Mr. Knox testified that he had no knowledge of the contaminated soil in the
backyard, because he and his late wife never attempted to plant veggie only
flowers. He also testified that his hearing is not that best, which prohibited him
from hearing the parties across the street. The jury found that Mr. Knox was not
had liable for failure to disclose due to Mr. Knox not having prior knowledge of the
defects and the Powells willingness to overlook the issue for the chandelier in Mr.

What Makes Augustine s Confessions Memorable
Maddie Yamona
Western Civilization II
Mr. Horswell
29 September, 2017
What makes Augustine s Confessions memorable
Augustine s Confessions was a major piece of work that heavily influenced the
religion back in his times. Augustine s Confessions is still read today because of the
relatability it shows in aspects of depression, love, and finding your identity.
Throughout the book Augustine goes through his life and the decisions he has made
and how they made him either a better or worse person. We can use Augustine s
Confessions as a tool to also evaluate our own lives and decisions because of the
way he judges himself and what he considers to be the best and worst things he has
done and why. Augustine goes through trying to find himself through things of the
world and then finally realizes why he can not when he steps back and looks at the
fact that he must first find himself in God.
Augustine finds himself going through hard times throughout the Confessions and
this includes the struggle with depression. Augustine loses one of his very close
friends and begins to become depressed, I raged and sighed and wept and worried, I
could not rest, I could not think intelligent. (Augustine. 64). When Augustine
becomes depressed he says that he does not want to be around people and people can
relate to this because when people are upset they want time to themselves to think not
time around other people. Another example of when Augustine is depressed is when
Augustine realizes how
Takayasus s Arteritis in Northeast Iran
Our aim was to describe the demographic, clinical, and laboratory characteristics of
Takayasu s arteritis the in northeast of Iran. Introduction: Takayasu s arteritis (TA) is
a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiology. TA affects adolescent girls and young
women. It has a worldwide distribution, with the greatest prevalence in Asians 1 2. A
generalized inflammatory syndrome with fever, night sweats, malaise, anorexia,
weight loss, and diffuse myalgia often dominates initial manifestations of TA. These
symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed as infection 3.Takayasu s arteritis primarily
affects the aorta and its primary branches 4. The inflammatory processes cause
thickening of the walls of the affected arteries. The proximal aorta can become
dilated due to inflammatory injury. Narrowing, occlusion, or dilation of the arteries
in varying degrees results in a wide variety of symptoms 5. Involvement of the carotid
and vertebral arteries leads to neurologic and ophthalmologic symptoms, including
dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, syncope, stroke, and visual disturbances. Atrophy of
facial muscles and jaw claudication are mostly late manifestations. Occlusions of the
brachiocephalic and subclavian arteries impair blood flow to the upper extremities,
presenting as arm claudication, pulselessness, and discrepant blood pressures. The
detection of bruits can be helpful in making the diagnosis 6. TA is not very rare in
Iran 7. We aimed to study the clinical, laboratory characteristics,
How Did Robert Owen Teach Poor Children
Based on our discussions in class, our readings, video clips and the readings that
discuss about the education provided in nineteenth century England for poor
children and orphans who normally wouldn t be able to afford it, there seems to be
two sides to the story. One side you have a document by Robert Owen describing
the importance of teaching poor children good morale habits and the interest of
knowledge and a clip showing how Styal Mill Schoolwas teaching kids with
multiple useful tools and even how to cure sickness and were even provided good
beds . However on the other hand there s plentiful of novels film adaptations such as
the excerpts from Hard Times and Nicholas Nickleby both by Charles Dickenswhich

Describe Yourself College Essay. Awesome Describe Yourself Essay Thatsnotus

  • 1. Describe Yourself College Essay Describing oneself in a college essay may seem like a straightforward task, but it is far more challenging than it appears at first glance. The difficulty lies not only in articulating personal attributes and achievements but also in striking a balance between self-promotion and humility. Crafting an essay that captures the essence of one's personality, experiences, and aspirations without sounding boastful or insincere requires a delicate touch. Attempting to encapsulate a lifetime of experiences and personal growth within a limited word count is a daunting task. The challenge is to choose the most significant aspects of oneself that not only showcase individuality but also resonate with the values and expectations of the target college. It requires introspection, self-awareness, and the ability to present a coherent narrative that engages the reader from the opening sentence to the final paragraph. Furthermore, the pressure to stand out among a pool of talented and ambitious applicants adds an extra layer of complexity. Striking the right tone and conveying authenticity are crucial in order to avoid clichГ©s and stereotypes that can diminish the impact of the essay. It's a fine line between being memorable and falling into the trap of overused phrases or generic anecdotes. Additionally, the fear of being judged or misunderstood can hinder the creative process. Expressing vulnerabilities, failures, and personal growth requires courage, and finding the right balance between highlighting strengths and acknowledging weaknesses is a delicate art. In conclusion, writing a "Describe Yourself College Essay" is a formidable task that goes beyond the mere act of putting words on paper. It involves a deep exploration of one's identity, a thoughtful selection of experiences to share, and a skillful execution to weave them into a compelling narrative. It demands not only literary prowess but also a profound understanding of oneself and the target audience. If the process becomes too overwhelming or time-consuming, there are resources available for assistance. Services like HelpWriting.net provide professional support in crafting personalized and impactful essays tailored to individual needs. These services can help navigate the challenges of self-expression, ensuring that the final essay stands out in the competitive college admissions process. • 2. Comparing Daisy and Countess Olenska in Daisy Miller and... The story Daisy Miller is a romance of a love that can never be. The character Annie P. Miller (known as Daisy Miller) is portrayed as a young naive wild yet, innocent girl who want to do nothing more but have fun with the company she please. The story Daisy Miller is a lot like The Age of Innocence. In both the movie and the book the leading ladywas shunned from society because of their behavior. Both Daisy and the Countess Olenska were misunderstood and out casted because they were saw as different. These women did not want to conform to what the society thoughtwas proper and good, they had their own opinion and was bold in their time to state it. Daisy thought it was okay, even nice to have many gentlemen friends. She did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She enjoyed herself and that was enough for her to be happy. The Countess Olenska was much like Daisy. The Countess was a free sprit who did not care that society did not agree with her suing for a divorce. She wanted to be free. She hated when everyone that she felt were so nice turned and gave her the cold shoulder. The Countess did not like being shunned so she did give consideration to society s chants. She did not sue for the divorce but she refused to go back to her husband. Society was not the reason for her actions although, considered, did not make the final decision. Like every romance there has to be a charming gentlemen. In The Age of Innocence there were Newland and Winterborne in Daisy Miller . These two man were a lot alike and in so many ways so different. They were different because of their circumstance but also had different point of views. They were both gentlemen and made choices as gentlemen should. Newland was a gentlemen gentleman. He did not like for people to talk ghastly of The Countess. He felt she should make her own choice. Newland was inclined to a woman being equal to and having equal freedom as a man. Newland, however, had a set of circumstance that made this romance go for a loop. Newland was engaged to The Countess Olenska s cousin. The fact did not stop him from confessing his love to The Countess. He made the choice to go ahead with the wedding, with the help of The Countess Olenska, just as
  • 3. Football Injuries In Football Unlike the Greek hero Achilles, soccer players have more than one weak spot. The lower extremities particularly the knees and ankles are most frequently affected, but the other areas of the body are also punished by this widely played sport and are not immune to injury. Most of these injuries are superficial, and play can be resumed after a short layoff. Now and then, a player may suffer a more than serious injury, which requires appropriate first aidand further expert treatment. 1.Skin Injuries As an external protective covering of the human body, the skin is particularly vulnerable to sports injuries. Abrasions, skin detachment or lacerations are not uncommon on the soccer field. These skin injuries can be very painful but are usually harmless and heal quickly with no external intervention. Larger wounds must first be cleaned, then disinfected and eventually wrapped with a sterile dressing. Always bear in mind that a skin injury enables germs to enter the body; therefore a wound always presents the danger of infection. a.Abrasions First Aid To reduce the risk of infection, the surface of the wound should be cleaned with a Ringer s or saline solution. Then disinfect the wound with a gentle skin disinfectant and cover it with a sterile, non adhesive wound dressing. Play can usually then be resumed immediately Therapy Later in the healing process, an infection must be prevented. If necessary, the bandage should be changed daily and the wound cleaned with an
  • 4. Free Range Parenting Is Too Dangerous For Children Seungmin Jung Professor Steve Master COM 122 21 October 2015 One afternoon last december, in Washington, DC, police was alerted by a person to pick up a brother and sister, who were walking a mile heading home, and take them to their parents. After the police took the kids home, he warned the kids father of potential dangers that his kids could have faced while walking unsupervised. (Griffin) These days, there are many other cases similar to this where kids walking home unsupervised are reported to authority and taken into supervision with their parents being warned in some ways as a consequence. So what makes kids walking home unsupervised such a nation wide controversy? Free range parenting. Nowadays, free range parenting is quite a big issue as the world is changing so rapidly and is no longer the same world that parents in this generation could freely roam around in their own childhood. Some argue that free range parenting is nothing more than a mere negligence over their children in that the world is now simply too dangerous for the children to explore on their own. They say that the world is no longer safe for a child to be outside alone and that so called free range parenting is just being irresponsible parents. However, they are wrong. Although free range parenting may look so dangerous and unnecessarily risky, it, in fact, has far more advantages than disadvantages and is and has been an enormous necessity when raising children for a number of reasons: it makes

  • 7. Essay about Impact of Sea Otters on Community Ecology Introduction Sea otters (Enhydra lutris) are marine mammals capable of spending their entire lives in water. Being carnivorous in nature, they feed on sea urchins, crabs, fishes, mussels and clams. They are referred to as keystone species due to their profound impact on marine ecology. The interaction between sea otters, sea urchins and kelp forests has been studied as a model for the impact of predator prey interactions on community ecology. Sea otters are keystone predators, whose presence has a far reaching influence on the marine food web by affecting the populations of sea urchins, which indirectly affects the populations of kelp... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore, sea otters play an indirect, yet vital role in the preservation of kelp forests. This in turn protects kelp forests and other macroalgae, which would have otherwise been depleted due to grazing by sea urchins. Where sea otters abound so do lush kelp forests, and where sea otters are absent the habitat is typically deforested by hyperabundant sea urchins (SoulГ© et al 1240). The significance of this interaction can be wholly surmised only when the importance of kelp forests is understood. Kelp forests are a source of food and habitat for dozens of other coastal species (SoulГ© et al 1240). Innumerable coastal marine organisms thrive on kelp forests, enhancing biodiversity of the region. Therefore, to maintain the diversity and richness of coastal marine ecology, sea otters should be preserved, who indirectly lead to the preservation of kelps. Impact of sea otters on community ecology The presence or absence of sea otters influences marine ecology at the community level. Studies have shown that kelp forests enhance the underwater environment, providing a suitable habitat for fishes. The declining kelp beds in California in the mid 1900 s propelled the Kelp Habitat Improvement Project, whereby attempts were made to eliminate sea urchins that are

The moral is not to judge someone based off appearances or on the basis that they are different from you. This was all achieved by using cinematic elements such as lighting, sound, camera an gles, and wardrobe. This films message really made the audience think and feel as if they were playing a role in the movie themselves. The fantasy film Edward Scissorhandsoffers insight into reality using immoderation, to show people s prejudices, which were created by the deficiency of knowledge amongst the towns people. The first technique that plays a key factor in the moral of this film is the lighting, the lighting changes throughout the film to capture emotion, especially from the audience. In the opening scenes of Edward Scissorhands the lighting is darker, also a lot of low light to show spookiness or mystery. When Peg has her first encounter with Edward in his mansion on the hill there is a use on low light on Edward to spark danger, although it wasn t until he comes fully out of the dark corner in the attic to reveal that he is a innocent looking boy. Edward also softly told Peg to not leave even though she was frightened, which catered to his innocence. Throughout the movie the lighting remains neutral, showing that everything is in full color, except for some in stances at the end. It is not until Edward gets in trouble for Kim, the daughter of Peg who he is love with. At this

But not entirely, as legal practice managers can turn the answer around. Let me explain, and then you can make up your own mind. Electronic communications could pose a risk true Lawyers and their clients communicate frequently. In this world of advanced technology, these communications no longer take place just through good old letters or via a simple phone call. They now take place largely through emails and sometimes even via text messages or other messaging services such as Skype. Personally, I had the experience of one client asking me a legal question over a group WhatsApp channel. I had to (gently!) educate this client on a number of things... I will come back to education shortly. The point I want to make here is this electronic communications are thought by many to put at risk the confidentiality of legal communications between a lawyer and a client. Modern communications technologies have made what once would have been limited disclosure in a closed environment to now easily available to pretty much anyone who has an online presence. Technology could help protect legal professional privilege true For the legal profession, it is true that there is a vast array of technology that can be used for lawyer client communication. The New Obligatory National Living Wage Introduction On the 1st April, 2016, the new obligatory National Living Wage (NLW) was set, rising from a minimum amount of ВЈ6.70 to ВЈ7.20 per hour an hourly addition of 50 pence only for those aged 25 and over. A solution to the issues caused by the increased NLW could be that B Q alters their organisational objectives. • 14. Personal Ambition In Macbeth Personal ambition was an important value during the Renaissance time period in England. Personal ambition was also a vital part of two of the most prominent novels in england s history, Paradise Lost by John Milton and Macbeth by William Shakespeare. It In each story, both of the main female characters, Eve and Lady Macbeth, portray the idea of personal ambition at its best by their ability to manipulate. Lady Macbeth is the one who takes advantage of her husband s, Macbeth, emotions in order to become queen. Eve, however, is very curious about herself and after she eats the fruit from the forbidden tree she starts to view herself as Adam s equal and wants to possibly be superior to him. Both Shakespeare and Milton viewed ambition as a strength but at the same time it can be a weakness and the downfall for certain people or characters in life or stories. Lady Macbeth as a character was very ambitious. She is debatably one of the more powerful characters in all of literature. Her burning ambition to be queen is the single feature that Shakespeare developed far beyond that of her counterpart in the historical story he used as his source. Lady Macbeth is the one who originally plots duncan s murder and manipulates Macbeth into proceeding with the murder by questioning his manhood saying, To be the same in thine own act and valour. As thou art in desire? Wouldst thou have that. Which thou esteem st the ornament of life, And live a coward in thine own esteem, Letting I

It is estimated that about 3% of all children are born with major defects; minor defects or variations are estimated to occur in 10% to 15% of births. Malformations may be single or multiple. In cases of autosomal recessive inheritance, both parents are normal but each carries a silent, or recessive, gene that, if matched in an offspring, causes the birth defect. Because both parents are so called carriers (heterozygotes) of the same abnormal gene, they run a 25% risk (1 in 4) of having a child with the birth defect caused by that particular gene. Examples of birth defects inherited in this autosomal recessive manner are TAY SACHS DISEASE and SICKLE CELL ANEMIA. In cases of X linked recessive inheritance the abnormal gene is located on the X chromosome. The normal mother has two X chromosomes, one of which carries the gene for the abnormal condition; but if her son inherits her X chromosome with the abnormal gene, he will be affected with the condition. HEMOPHILIA is inherited in this matter. Multifactorial Defects Many common birth defects do not occur in a pattern that indicates simple Mendelian inheritance. They seem to result from an interaction of genes and the environment, including the intrauterine environment, and each factor includes a number of different hereditary and environmental influences; hence, these defects are called multifactorial. Among them are congenital heart disease; neural tube defects, including SPINA BIFIDA, myelomeningocele, and anencephaly; and CLUBFOOT, CLEFT LIP AND PALATE, and dislocated hips. Chromosome Number An increase or decrease in the total chromosome material can cause birth defects. For

  • 26. Hydrogen Extraction Process For The Recovery Of Heavy Oil... Abstract Vapor extraction process for the recovery of heavy oil and bitumen was originally proposed by Dr. Butler during 1989 1991. Since its evolution, vapor extraction has emerged as a very effective and promising technique mainly due to its environment friendly nature and cost effectiveness as compared to other recovery techniques. Vapex is basically an in situ recovery process which injects a vaporized hydrocarbon solvent in the injection well to reduce the viscosity the heavy oil and bitumen and allows it to drain out of the production well through gravity drainage. Mass transfer of vaporized solvent to heavy oil and the gravity drainage are the key parameters which mainly determine the production rate of heavy oil and bitumen with reduced viscosity. This report provides a brief idea about the current heavy oil and bitumen deposits in Canada, a better insight of the Vapex process and the factors which affect the efficiency of the process. Several factors that scale up the performance of the process and important limitations are also indentified that need further research for future growth of the process. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND Energy is the most important factor for growth and development. Petroleum being the primary source of energy can be categorized into conventional and non conventional forms based on the viscosity and API gravity. Heavy oil and Bitumen are the non conventional forms of energy which are often referred as oil sands or tar sands having high

Asymmetric Information And Market Outcomes BUS530 Managerial Economics Module 4 CASE Asymmetric Information and Market Outcomes Trident University International Dr. John Gaze Antoinette Gibson January 28, 2015 Car Market The car market is at the forefront of many homes within the society today. At some point in everyone s life they have to purchase a car or someone close to them makes that big purchase in their life. Throughout this paper I am going to discuss a few things when we talk about car markets. First I am going share whether or not I believe the car market has an asymmetrical information problem. Then I will share what the markets response to adverse selection. Next, I will highlight the car market s response to moral hazard. When we think as a market signal , I will be considering whether or not education can help companies make better economic decisions when asymmetric information exist. Finally I would share what I believe the market response would be if there was perfect information. Market response to asymmetric information In many markets, asymmetric information is a problem, such as the insurance markets, credit markets and even the car markets. This is simply where one person in the exchange knows significantly more than the other (Lillo 2013). I believe in the car market, there is definitely a asymmetric information problem. I think it may be a more common issue when we talk about some of the smaller car lots or used car lots. Often times individuals go to those lots thinking they are
  • 28. Spoon River Poetry Analysis The 1915 poetry collection, Spoon River Anthology, by Edgar Lee Masters, offers a portrait of daily life in a fictional Illinois town, Spoon River. As is evident from the poems Spoon River was an economic boom town which profited greatly from its proximity to rail roads and a major waterway. Regardless of its prosperity, Spoon Riverseems to have remained a demographically small town, and the neighbors all knew each other very well, and a clear social hierarchy formed. One of the more interesting aspects of the Spoon River Anthologyis that the poems contained therein are a series of grave epitaphs that tell a story about each deceased resident. Often, graveyards themselves can serve as reminders of social hierarchies in the world of the living. Typically, only those decedents who had family members and a community who cared for them would be laid to rest in the community grave; the potter s field and the crematorium awaited those who passed away without family, in debt, or with a criminal record. Thus, the initial assessment of the deceased within the Spoon River graveyard would be that they were good people in their lives. Indeed, many of the epitaphs depict the decedents as moral, hardworking, and decent people. However, when cross referencing the epitaphs from each citizen, it becomes clear that the prominent members of Spoon River were incredibly corrupt in their day to day behavior. Ultimately, Masters explores ethics in Spoon River Anthology by studying the fine

Since we have all the necessary tools and food in our kitchen, only a bit of time needs to be devoted. Basically, she tried to inform a general public that home cooking has an essential value in our life. Her mother is a very intelligent woman, but struggles with her English and has a hard time communicating with others. Amy is often used as her mother s translator to help get her point across. • 39. The First Signs Of Music Therapy Essay The use of music for therapy has been seen to exist for almost as long as the start of therapy itself. At around 400 B.C., Hippocrates, a Greek physician known for his tremendous contributions to modern medicine, was shown to be the first human to use music as a way to therapeutically treat mental patients. Since then, records of other civilizations such as the Egyptians, Arabians, and even the Native Americans show signs of the use of music in medicine. This form of therapy was said to help align the soul and the body together. However, it was not until the 18th century that researchers have studied how music affects the nerves themselves (Gouk, 2004). The first signs of music therapy used in the modern world were predominantly in the United Kingdom after World War I (Degmecic, 2005). Musicians played to war veterans suffering from both mental and physical trauma to help alleviate their pain. As these veterans were seen having positive responses to the music played, doctors hired more musicians to help play at veteran hospitals. Seeing the positive feedback and recovery of the veterans prompted the use of music therapy to become an actual academic curriculum taught in college courses. Currently, the leading organization that focuses primarily on music therapy is the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) which was formed in 1998. Their team of music therapists has helped countless of patients improve both their physical and emotional help with the use of music. Music

Throughout the book Augustine goes through his life and the decisions he has made and how they made him either a better or worse person. Augustine goes through trying to find himself through things of the world and then finally realizes why he can not when he steps back and looks at the fact that he must first find himself in God. Introduction: Takayasu s arteritis (TA) is a chronic vasculitis of unknown etiology. TA affects adolescent girls and young women. It has a worldwide distribution, with the greatest prevalence in Asians 1 2. A generalized inflammatory syndrome with fever, night sweats, malaise, anorexia, weight loss, and diffuse myalgia often dominates initial manifestations of TA. These symptoms are frequently misdiagnosed as infection 3.Takayasu s arteritis primarily affects the aorta and its primary branches 4. The inflammatory processes cause thickening of the walls of the affected arteries. The proximal aorta can become dilated due to inflammatory injury. Narrowing, occlusion, or dilation of the arteries in varying degrees results in a wide variety of symptoms 5. Involvement of the carotid and vertebral arteries leads to neurologic and ophthalmologic symptoms, including dizziness, tinnitus, headaches, syncope, stroke, and visual disturbances. Atrophy of facial muscles and jaw claudication are mostly late manifestations. Occlusions of the brachiocephalic and subclavian arteries impair blood flow to the upper extremities, presenting as arm claudication, pulselessness, and discrepant blood pressures.
