Detail case study on pile foundation with literature review , It is helpful for the term paper and other research work and link in it will further help an individual in course of their study or research work .
3. •1.Introduction
• A "driven pile foundation" is a specific
type of pile foundation where structural
elements are driven into the ground
using a large hammer. They are
commonly constructed of timber,
precast prestressed concrete (PPC), and
steel (H-sections and pipes).
4. 2.Objective :
To transmit the buildings loads to the foundations
and the ground soil layers whether these loads
vertical or inclined.
To install loose cohesion less soil through
displacement and vibration
To control the settlements; which can be
accompanied by surface foundations.
To increase the factor of safety for heavy loads
buildings

Case Studies of Pile
Foundations
Undergoing Lateral
Spreading in
Liquefied Deposits
Liquefaction of surrounding soils during
earthquakes may affect the performance of pile
foundations leading to damage and even collapse of
piles. In fact, there are cases of liquefaction related
damage to piles caused by an excessive lateral
movement of the liquefied soils.

Design of Pile
Foundation for site
in Sangli district of
Maharashtra
The foundation is an important part of the
structure. The pile foundation is one of the very
important type of deep foundations. Shallow
foundations and deep foundations are important
types of foundation. In this paper, OPD building in
Sangli District has been considered as a case study.
The soil has been found to be clayey soil. Piles have
been designed for this building as bearing capacity
of the soil is very low.

A STUDY OF PILE
FOUNDATION TO
ENHANCE SOIL
BEARING
CAPACITY FOR
THE STRUCTURE
This paper presents a case study of piling
foundation and testing of a Commercial Project in
the south region of India. The overall pile driving
works involved more than 1600RC piles of a total
length over 25.000 m. Assumption that the bearing
capacity of a pile driven into cohesive soil may
increase significantly in time (set-up effect), was the
reason for the contractor to take the risk to
accelerate the testing procedure.

A Case Study:
Foundation Design in
Liquefiable Site
The liquefaction is a phenomenon which occurs
under seismic solicitation. The passage of a seismic
wave (i.e. strong shaking) leads, in certain geological
formations, to the loss of shearing resistance in
saturated sandy materials. This is caused mainly by
the increase of the pore water pressure generated by
the cyclical deformations. The instantaneous
deconsolidation of the soil is reflected by the
destruction of the soil mass; making the
constructions on such soils unstable.
10. 6.Loads on pile
All the load from the super structure like,
Live load
Dead load
Wind load
Seismic load
The loads from the surrounding soil in case of seismic event.
Water load in case of off-shore structure.
13. 8.FUTURE PLAN
• There are many things we have to consider such as we will choose one any particular
live example where there is the failure of pile foundation. We will have to get through
the reason of that failure. We will take similar few example of sites.
• Then, We will go through the solution of that failure so that that problems will not
occur in other construction.
14. 9.Conclusion :
> After discussing the above topic what we suggest is by
considering a safe bearing capacity and condition of a sitewe have
decide which type of materials use.
> More over the deep foundation is suitable for structure
