Analysis Of Nietzsche s Exegesis Of Christianity
One obtains the contextual meaning of moral acid by agglutinating the terms corrupt , décadence and
rotten.
Commentary: Christianity corrupts the natural faculties of man that are intellectually more vigorous,
that are the highest intellectual values, considering them as full of temptation, sinful or misleading.
Christianity destroys the intellect. If considered the generalization given by Nietzsche there is the risk
of to staying away of your conceptualization. One should remember that Nietzsche did not make a
exegesis of Christianity, but only he analyzes the interpretation of Christianity to which he had access.
To Nietzsche commentators, he condemns all Christianity doctrine and morality, however, Nietzsche

Virtù occurs eight times in Will of Power and one time in AntiChrist, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight
of Idols, Ecce Homo.
Virtù: virtue in its primitive signification is manliness, what preeminently distinguishes the full grown
and strong man from the feebler members of his own race; it is the power of resolute, strenuous,
persevering conflict and resistance. Virtù denotes not simply a human being, but a man endowed with
all appropriate manly attributes. [APPMMP Andrew Preston Peabody, (1811 1893), A manual of moral
philosophy, New York, Chicago: A. S. Barnes and company, 1873]
But, what is virtù for Nietzsche?
Nietzsche does not define the term, but he is clear. In Will to Power, by citing the example of
somebody that feels be born for something better that the work he does, Nietzsche introduces virtù as
have a certain kind of capacity and to use it and gives the origin: this is virtu in the Italian style of the
Renaissance, [FNWP12] that borrows of Voltaire: who understood umanita in the sense of the
Renaissance, as also virtu (as higher culture). It is virtue free from all moralic

Narcissistic Personality
If you were to view millennials or generation y through the eyes of a critic, you would see a
generation that is full of narcissistic people, who are entitled, slothful, detached, and more self
absorbed than generations past. However, there isn t a way to proof this right? I would argue that
millennials are no more or less self involved than previous generations. Contrarily, they actually may
be more socially conscious, innovative, and humanistic at greater propensities than generations past.
However, as the world continues to move forward, millennials are beginning to clash with their elders
and as new ways of thinking and living are being spearheaded by generation y, older age groups have
become extremely critical. For instance, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Ultimately, millennials have been born into and have grown up with this new school of things and
millennials will continue to engage and pioneer the world in ways that are foreign to those who aren t
raised with the technological advances the average millennial has come accustomed too. According to
the whitehouse.gov, Millennials are more connected to technology than previous generations and a
quarter of Millennials believe that their relationship to technology is what makes their generation
unique. While all generations have experienced technological advances, the sheer amount of
computational power and access to information that Millennials have had at their fingertips since
grade school is unparalleled. Computational processing power has roughly doubled every 2 years, and
storage prices continue to drop. (pg. 7, para 2) A Pew Research also states that, three quarters have

(para. 4) Technology has become such a staple in modern society for millennials that this way of life

The Prime Minister David Cameron
The British voters have decisively spoken on the June 23 referendum that they want their country out
of the European Union. The 52 percent of them supported Brexit, or Britain s exit, while the rest
favored staying in the regional group. The decision has thrown the United Kingdom, Europe and the
world into a political and economic vortex of uncertainty, which is likely to be worse before it gets
better.
In the United Kingdom, the Conservative Prime Minister David Cameron, who had led the campaign
to stay in the EU, announced that he would stand down in the wake of the referendum result. Jeremy
Corbyn, the chief of the main opposition Labor Party, is facing a revolt against him for not being out
there campaigning whole hearted to convince labor voters to vote to stay in, not leave, the EU. He has
sacked one shadow cabinet leader and one cabinet leader has already resigned. More upheaval is
expected to emerge in the next few days.
Brexit has unsettled British sub national politics as well. Nicola Sturgeon, the first minister and leader
of the Scottish Nationalist Party, has announced that the second Scottish referendum for independence
is on the table and she would seek Scotland to remain in the EU even after Britain leaves. Scottish
voters overwhelmingly voted in favor of not leaving the EU. In the wake of wide support in Northern
Ireland to stay in Europe, Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness has demanded a referendum for
his province s unification with Ireland.

Burundi
Burundi is a resource poor country in Eastern Africa, bordered by Rwanda, The Republic of Congo,
and Tanzania. The country is about the size of Maryland, and has a population of about 9,511,000
people (CIA World Factbook). Burundi is known for having one of the highest population densities in
all of Africa. It is a country with a drawn out history plagued with war, conquest, and detrimental
ethnic conflicts. It has a moderate tropical climate, with two wet seasons and two dry seasons, yet it is
lacking in industrial and political force to overcome its deficiencies. Though the citizens face extreme

Though Burundi s largest industry is agriculture,, accounting for 65% of the GDP. It s biggest resource
industry is coffee, and other agriculture includes bananas, sweet potatoes, hides, tea, sorghum and
maize. According to the World Food Programme, about 56% of children under five years of age suffer
from chronic malnutrition, which makes the country dependent on aid from foreign countries.
(Wikipedia) Though civil unrest has stunted Burundi s growth, the land is full of local tradition and
culture. Drumming plays an important role in their heritage. Along with drumming comes dance,
which can be seen during family celebrations and get togethers. A typical meal at these gatherings
would be one consisting of sweet potatoes, corn, and peas. Meat is rarely eaten due its high expense,
yet impeke (beer) is generally part of a daily meal for most Burundians(Every Culture). Sports like
football, basketball, and track and field are loved by the Burundians and played daily. Burundians are
extremely religious and the country consists of a prominence of three different religions: Christianity,
Islam, and indigenous beliefs. Christianity is the largest religion, and the biggest holiday is Christmas.
It is believed that most of the Hutu are generally Christian, and that most of the Tutsi are Muslim,
which is why they tend to be so hateful towards one another. In 2009 the government passed law in
which criminalized homosexuality. Any person found guilty of

Labelling Theory
Labeling theory had its origins in Suicide, a book by French sociologist Émile Durkheim. He found
that crime is not so much a violation of a penal code as it is an act that outrages society. He was the
first to suggest that deviant labeling satisfies that function and satisfies society s need to control the
behavior. As a contributor to American Pragmatism and later a member of the Chicago School, George
Herbert Mead posited that the self is socially constructed and reconstructed through the interactions
which each person has with the community. The labeling theory suggests that people obtain labels
from how others view their tendencies or behaviors. Each individual is aware of how they are judged
by others because he or she has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Mind, Self, and Society (1934),[1] he showed how infants come to know persons first and only
later come to know things. According to Mead, thought is both a social and pragmatic process, based
on the model of two persons discussing how to solve a problem. Our self image is, in fact, constructed
of ideas about what we think others are thinking about us. While we make fun of those who visibly
talk to themselves, they have only failed to do what the rest of us do in keeping the internal
conversation to ourselves. Human behavior, Mead stated, is the result of meanings created by the
social interaction of conversation, both real and imaginary. [edit]Frank Tannenbaum Frank
Tannenbaum is considered the grandfather of labeling theory. His Crime and Community (1938),[2]
describing the social interaction involved in crime, is considered a pivotal foundation of modern
criminology. While the criminal differs little or not at all from others in the original impulse to first
commit a crime, social interaction accounts for continued acts that develop a pattern of interest to
sociologists. Tannenbaum first introduced the idea of tagging .[3] While conducting his studies with
delinquent youth, he found that a negative tag or label often contributed to further involvement in
delinquent activities. This initial tagging may cause the individual to adopt it as part of their

newspaper s society pages. However, Wuornos continually involved herself in confrontations at their

a restraining order against her. She returned to Michigan[9][10] where, on July 14, 1976, she was
arrested in Antrim County, Michigan, and charged with assault and disturbing the peace for throwing a
cue ball at a bartender s head.[11] On July 17, her brother Keith died of esophageal cancer and
Wuornos received $10,000 from his life insurance. Wuornos and Fell annulled their marriage on July
21 after only nine weeks.[12] In August 1976, Wuornos was given a $105 fine for drunk driving. She

Toni Cade Bambara s The Lesson
Some experiences change a person and their outlook on life significantly. The process of growing up
can be gradual but when sudden things occur, it makes it harder for the individual to handle it. Sylvia,
the narrator and main character in Toni Cade Bambara s The Lesson, learns a lesson about the
inequalities of social class and the significance of wealth among people. In the process of these
lessons, Sylvia loses some of the innocence that is connected to childhood as she experiences the
hardships and difficulties of the adult world. The educator who teaches Sylvia this valuable lesson is
characterized as the misfit in the story. She goes by the name of Miss Moore and is viewed negatively

For one of her lessons that day, Miss Moore brings the children to downtown New York for a field trip
to FAO Schwarz. When arriving to Fifth Avenue, it becomes apparent that this is the children s first
impression on white culture. Considering they do not receive proper education and live in a poorer
area, it is uncommon for these kids to travel outside of their social bubble. The first impression these
children get is that white folks are very much different from them, dressing in fancier clothes or so
Sylvia says, . . . everybody dressed up in stockings. One lady in a fur coat, hot as it is. White folks
crazy (Bambara). Additionally, Sylvia s cousin, Sugar asks Miss Moore, Can We Steal? when they are
approaching the famous toy store. This would seem to be a no brainer answer for most, but Sugar does
not know any better and is asking a legitimate question on her behalf. These are authentic feelings
spoken from both the girls as they digest new scenes of culture they ve never been exposed to. It is
common when someone is experiencing something new, that a no brainer question can be a significant
learning lesson for them. The importance here is Sylvia and Sugar are broadening their minds and

Why Cheer Is A Sport
Have you ever been seriously injured as an athlete due to wrong form, hard work, and intensity? If the
answer is yes, you understand the stress of a sport. You would also understand the passion of the sport,
and the respect and equality you know you deserve. Sports come with all kinds of stress, enjoyment,
building muscles, being sore, and it can shape you as a person. As people, we love sports. People often
argue what makes a sport a sport. Whether or not cheer is a sport is often argued and questioned. It is
usually thought of as a support team for other sports. Along with cheering on the sidelines at games,
most cheerleading squads participate in heated competitions to show their athleticism (Popoloski).
Even though cheer is not listed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Like any other sport, there are several injuries such as, concussions, sprains, strains, dislocations,
breaks, and stitches. Not only does cheer compare to other sports in injuries, it actually shows in
statistics that there are more injuries in cheer. Cheer is the leading sport in catastrophic injuries. 65.1%
of catastrophic injuries in high school athletics is accounted by cheer itself ( Barton). The injury rate
only grows in college cheerleading. Furthermore, the evidence from livescience.com confirms cheer is
by far exceedingly dangerous than any other sport to females. These injuries can result from several
different aspects in cheer. Girls are tossed, they tumble, lift people their own size, and requires a lot of
flexibility. Cheer is in need of medical support and supervision, simply like any other sport. Girls are
being thrown up to 20 feet in the air. They should get the same amount of medical treatment as any
other athlete. This isn t recognized at all, which is extremely dangerous. If cheer was supported and
considered an official sport, it would be much easier to receive the funding possible for the right
equipment such as mats, springboards and more to ensure safety among the cheerleaders. In todays
world, they do not have the funding, so they must use anything that they can. A myriad of times, you
see schools having a cheer sponsor rather than a cheer coach because they feel that it s not too salient
or considered a true sport. Cheer teams require several safety precautions, including an experienced
coach to make sure the athletes are safely trained (Delp). There is approximately 5,300 cheerleaders a
year in the United States that have to make a visit to the emergency room during football season. The
physical contact is dangerous without a coach to insure the right way to tumble, stunts, and pyramids.
Most sports are seen as very physical, and

The Budget For The Budget Of The International Criminal Court
The budget for the Court, according to the International Criminal Court website, is currently $141.6
million, as of 2017. If the increase of the budget is brought on by America, China, Russia, and many
other states that are not currently ratified or signed with the treaty, than the current jurisdiction could
be increased. Currently, as of 2017, the Court has 31 arrest warrants issued. To these 31, around 15 of
the criminals for the arrest warrants are seen to be remaining at large; the current funding of the court
is not large enough for the apprehension of the remaining 15 criminals. If the funding were to be

With such a low budget, it does not help that the International Criminal Court does not own their own
police force or enforcement body thus being the only way is to rely on supporting countries armies,
police force, national guard, etc... to capture the warrants that are handed out for the apprehension of
criminals. If the increase of the $146 million dollar budget is to happen, then the funding could help
support a sole police task force for the International Criminal Court, in which they do not have to rely
on other countries but rather themselves. Solely having their own police task force will allow for the
issue of more warrants within supporting countries due to not having to rely on their police force, but
rather their own. As stated from the International Criminal Court, As a judicial institution, the ICC
does not have its own police force or enforcement body; thus, it relies on cooperation with countries
worldwide for support, particularly for making arrests, transferring arrested persons to the ICC
detention centre in The Hague, freezing suspects assets, and enforcing sentences. As stated by the
following quote, the current jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court is not vast, and seemingly,
it is actually quite small. Alike, the jurisdiction is accounting for the four sums of crimes: genocide,

Trying To Teach My Little Sisters How To Read
If you think that teaching is for you, then I suggest trying to teach two five year old little girls to read
at the same time! Teaching my little sisters how to read will forever be one of the most challenging
things I have ever done. The weekend I taught Carlee and Kalee how to read will always play over in
my mind. This is the story of the week that I went insane trying to teach my little sisters how to read.
It was the summer of 2013, the weekend before Carlee and Kalee started Kindergarten. They had just
turned five and they were as fun loving and energetic as ever. They had been going to a program
called, HIPPIE, all last school year. That program can help kids in many ways, including the basics on
how to read. However, the twins still weren t the brightest fish in the sea. They needed some help, and
mom thought that I should be the one to teach them.
The good thing was that the twins were all for the idea of me teaching them how to read. They were
excited, and that was good! First, we went to the library to get books. I told them they were only
allowed to get two books each. Carlee was able to find two really easy stories that she liked. Kalee on
the other hand was a bit more difficult. She found one book she really liked, but she wasn t able to

thanks to the HIPPIE program. She was able to read the book with only little help! You could tell she
was really into it and loved to read. Kalee was a whole different story. Her first book was The Very
Hungry Caterpillar. She knew the sight words but not really. She could look at them, and after a
minute she would tell you what the word was. They were sight words, she had to think, and that was
fine. Mom thought she needed to know them better. We worked, worked, and worked some

A Reflection On Capstone Nursing Practicum
As N412L: Capstone Nursing Practicum comes to a close, I can reflect on my clinical experiences in
this course and my progress towards meeting my defined behavioral objectives. At the beginning of
this course, I set goals for myself, of which I planned to accomplish by the time this term came to a
close. These objectives included: effective communication of the patient s care summary in SBAR
format, safe and efficient administration of intravenous medications, successful performance of
tracheostomy care, and accurate physical assessment and patient monitoring. While I still have much
to learn as I step into the role of a graduate nurse, I have accomplished my behavioral objectives for
this semester.
Description
Throughout the second half of the semester, I have not made any significant changes to my pre clinical
routine. I still prepare and gather my supplies the evening beforehand, and I try to avoid during
schoolwork in order to facilitate restful sleep. However, upon arriving to the unit, I have developed a
familiarity with the staff and environment that has reduced my stress and anxiety levels, allowing me
to focus more attention on my patient assignment for the day. Although we do not have assigned
preceptors, I have developed a mentoring relationship with two of the nurses on the unit and will work
with those staff members if available. As we have gotten to know and trust one another, we do not
have to spend the first part of our shift familiarizing ourselves,

Antigone, By Susan Glaspell And The Doll House
In todays world it is not hard to find a woman in any role in society, however this was not always the
case. In time periods previous to this, the role of women was quite different than it is in today s world.
What is now equality and power was once seclusion and degradation towards women of society. Over
the course of time the role of women has changed dramatically, and the plays Antigone by Sophocles,
Trifles by Susan Glaspell and The Doll House by Henrik Ibsen are great works that show how women
can challenge the boundaries that were put on them by a society that was not very accepting of
feminism. In Antigone , it does not take long for our main character (Antigone) to step outside of the
boundaries set against women in society. Antigone s brothers died in battle as leaders of separate
sides, and only one was to be honored after death while the other would remain on the battlefield. A
strict ruling was put down by the leader Creon that Antigone s brother Polyneices be left to rot, which
Antigone quickly decides to defy. After asking her sister Ismene for help with the deed of a proper
burial (which was declined), Antigone spoke of Creon by saying Nay, he hath no right to keep me
from mine own (Sophocles, Norton 11th Edition). Antigone breaks the obvious rule of society by
going against Creon s command to not give proper burial to her brother. This was not like many of the
women of this time period because women were not seen as equal in the decision making process,

Julia Butterfly Hill book is a personal reference of the adversity she overcame when faced with saving
a part of nature, a part of what defines her, a piece of something she would never let go of. In this
novel the author gives biographical evidence of not only her love of saving the redwood trees. The
story begins in December of 1996, in the town of Stafford, California. There was a mudslide which
was catastrophic and buried seven homes. The removal of the redwood trees was what she states to be
a cause and effect of this disaster because they absorb the moisture that causes erosion. She was up

I absolutely am very fond of this book. I chose to read this book because I was fascinated with
learning about trees in the previous project we were assigned. Not only did I grasp the fresh air of
nature, but I began to be with one with nature which was absent for quite a while. This book not only
brought back that feeling of becoming nature to me, but created a perspective that I may have been

natural, spiritual emotion to all readers. Preservation, and conservation of Mother Nature is not what

love the way how this is also a true story; it brings that realistic sense into my eyes. I would love to

likely those who take passion in the environment and helping preserve and conserve; I think this

Discuss the Concerns Raised by Users Regarding to the...
INTROUDCTION
AASB 117 Leases requires lessees to classify leases as either finance leases or operating leases. The
accounting treatment required under each approach is very different and this has raised concerns by
investors and other financial statement users regarding the usefulness of the information provided.
This essay will critically discuss and the criticisms and usefulness of lease accounting treatment. It
will also examine lessee firm s responses to Australian Standard 117 Accounting for Leases.
Definition of capital and operating lease
AASB 117 provides the current rules for leases. In general terms, the lessee classifies leasing
transactions under one of two categories. The current state of practice requires the ... Show more

Whether lease should be classified as finance/capital leases or operating leases, has essential
influences on other issues such as capitalisation of finance/capital leases and disclosure of operating
leases by lessees. Without a clear distinction between a finance/ capital lease and an operating lease, it
is unlikely that the lessee be required to capitalise the lease. This has led to inconsistent accounting for
arrangements that meet the definition of a lease and similar arrangement that do not.
According to AASB 117, the operating lease structure is a form of off balance sheet accounting, which
means the lease obligation is not reported as a liability on the balance sheet. Critics claims that as a
result of desirability of operating lease classification, lease parties commonly structure leases in such a
way to avoid capital lease accounting by a thin margin and uses it as a source of off balance sheet
financing This is a source of unrecognised financing and it can be difficult for users to understand.
Moreover, the adjustments are inconsistent and frequently understate the lease obligations.
Furthermore, the lack of transparency caused by current lease classification rules and the resulting
lease structuring that occurs to avoid meeting those rules creates significant problems for users in
assessing the true financial condition and risk of companies. It can even affects naively calculated debt
equity ratios, the footnote only disclosure and further

Succumbing to hunger and thirst on the fifth day, they killed the dog for nourishment. Two of the
crewmen died on the sixth day. On the seventh, the remaining crew reached land.
Ironically, Marion returned to the family farm healthier and in better spirits than when he had left.
Wrote Peter Horry, who would later serve under Marion: quot; His constitution seemed renewed, his
frame commenced a second and rapid growth, while his cheeks quitting their pale, suet colored cast,
assumed a bright and healthy olive. quot;
Apparently, this voyage ended his obsession with the sea, for he farmed his family s plantation for the
next ten years. Gradually, his brothers and sisters married and moved away. Around 1750, his father
died, leaving Marion to manage the plantation and care for his mother.
Though thethe began in 1754, it did not touch the daily lives of South Carolinians until the war s final
years. At this time, Cherokees began threatening settlers along the South Carolina border, influencing
Governor William Henry Lyttelton to enlarge his military forces. Marion and his brother Gabriel were
among the Huguenot recruits. When an expedition led by Colonel Archibald Montgomerie was
ambushed by Cherokees near the town of Echoe, Montgomerie s troops suffered heavy losses. The
defeat alarmed the South Carolinians, who appealed to Lord Jeffrey Amherst, commander in chief of

Analysis Of The Banking System In Argentina
I. Composition of the Banking Sector The banking system in Argentina is highly concentrated. In
2015 the top three banks controlled more than 43% of all commercial banking assets. The top ten
banks control more than 77% of banking assets. This reflects a long term trend of consolidation
beginning in the 1990s when banking reforms were introduced and continued following the 2001
crisis. Today only 78 banks remain in operation, compared to 200 in the mid 1990s. Market entry is
made difficult by both evolving regulation and the concentrated power of large, established banks.
Argentine banks have expanded their presences in recent years. In mid 2016 a total 4,507 branches
were in operation across the nation. Still, this ranks below the other ... Show more content on

By far the largest bank in Argentina is state owned Banco de la Nación Argentina, which controls
27.6% of banking assets. The two next largest domestic banks are the privately owned Banco de

controlling 7.8%. Several large foreign banks also operate in Argentina. These include the Banco
Santander Rio (controlling 8% of assets), BBVA Banco Francés (5.6% of assets), and HSBC (3.2%).
Some foreign banks have reduced, or have indicated plans to reduce, their presences in Argentina. In
2016, Citibank agreed to sell off most of its assets to Banco Rio Santander, citing desires to cut costs.
Despite such moves, Argentina may appear attractive to foreign banks seeking to expand in the Latin
American market. The soundness and profitability of Argentine banks make them potential takeover
targets for international banks, assuming a friendly regulatory climate.
II. State of the Banking Sector The banking sector has sound fundamentals. Banks are highly
capitalized. As of July 2017, the BCRA reports that banks have a capital compliance rate (qualified
capital/ risk weighted assets) of 14.7%. This exceeds the requirements by 79%. Banks have been
significantly over the capital requirements for the previous five years. Liquidity indicators are strong.

Netting Trash Trap
The water quality of the U High creek was determined to be excellent. However, not all areas of water
have an excellent water quality. One way humans can negatively impact the water quality of an area of
water can include using large amounts of fertilizers for the farming purpose of growing crops. These
fertilizers end up draining into rivers and increasing the concentration of chemicals like nitrates and
phosphates, thus causing the buildup of algae and blocking sunlight from providing energy to the
organisms and plants in the water. Another way humans can impact the water quality negatively
involves using chemical waste products in factories because chemicals like cyanide, zinc, copper,
lead, and mercury in these products can get into rivers and kill off animals living in the water.
Additionally, these chemicals can invade rivers so much that they affect the food cycle to the point

Classical Approach To Utilitarianism
2.1. Classical approach
The Classical approach for utilitarianism has two main prominent thinkers who are Jeremy Bentham
and John Stuart Mills.
Jeremy Bentham s concept of Utilitarianism
The concept of Utilitarianism was developed by Jeremy Bentham (1748 1832). He belonged to the
positivist school of Jurisprudence. According to him every human life is governed by two hedonistic
principles that is pleasure and pain. He believed that every individual tries to maximize his own and
pleasure and also decrease pain as much as possible. Although it would seem an individualistic
perspective but he also applied this principle to the society as a whole. According to him the role of
every government in the society is to maximize the greatest good of the greatest number. He also ...

He placed weight on the effectiveness of internal sanctions like guilt and remorse which serve to
regulate our actions. He believed that humans are those sorts which have social feelings, feelings for
others and are not only selfish. We care about people around us and when one inflicts harm over the
other then it leads to a painful experience in us. One feels guilty for what one has done. With this he
argued that conscience and sense of justice are emotions present in every human being through which
comes the sense which involves a desire to punish those who have harmed others.
Just like Bentham Mill also sought to reform law and social policy with his theory of utilitarianism.
The aim of increasing happiness underlies his argument of women s suffrage and free speech. It can be
seen best in his arguments regarding social status of women. He argued that it was important to
improve the status of women because they were capable of these cultivated faculties, and denying
them access to education and other facilities for development is resulting in a significant loss of source
of happiness for the

Roy Lichtenstein Drowning Girl Essay
Critical Analysis Drowning Girl By Roy Lichtenstein (1963)
A Critical Art Analysis of Roy Lichtenstein s Drowning Girl (1963) Painting
Roy Lichtenstein s Drowning Girl is one of the most renowned pieces of art produced by the
American artist. The painting that was created by the artist in the year 1963 on a 67 5/8 x 66 3/4
canvas is contained in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, and is one of the most
viewed modernistic pieces of art in the museum (MoMA). The Drowning Girl painting depicts a
crying lady in an ocean wave, with a thought bubble used by the artist to depict the distress of the girl

art uses different principles ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The message of heartbreak in the art is reflected in words contained in the thought bubble and the
tears which reveal that the girl in the picture might have been in a romantic relationship with a man
named Brad, who broke her heart. Even more clearly, the title Drowning girl, adds to the meaning of
the piece of art by suggesting to the viewer that the girl may be drowning in ocean waves. The
maneuver of a girl in distress in the painting further points to the deep interest of Roy Lichtenstein in
the pain that women go through after heartbreaks. Notably, evidence suggests that as a follower of
Picasso, Lichtenstein might have been inspired by the former s frequent use of images of crying
women to paint the Drowning Girl (Schneider 142). Overall, the use of ocean waves by the author
symbolizes distress, as well the vast amount of tears that the heartbreak might have induced which
arouse empathy in the viewer. Although the girl seems to lie in peace with her head on the water like a
pillow, the submergence of the rest of her body in water appears to communicate her dire need for
assistance. Thus, I would say that the piece of art reminds me of the importance of being considerate
of the feelings of fellow humans, especially for people in romantic

Essay On Corneal Ectasia
ECM proteins are known to play a significant role in the maintenance and preservation of tissue
ultrastructure and biological function. This study investigates the potential application of leveraging
these roles of ECM for structural reinforcement of the cornea to tackle the clinically relevant
challenges of corneal ectasia. We evaluated the benefits of ECM via biomechanical, thermal,
ultrastructural and gene expression characterization, by treating enzyme digested corneas with ECM
conditioned media. ECM treatment demonstrated an increase in Young s modulus on the KC corneas.
Moreover, it restored thermal stability, and regulated gene expression of corneal stromal cells. We
have therefore conclusively established that tissue derived ECM ... Show more content on

In the native cornea, the proteoglycans containing chondroitin sulfate chains plays an important role
on regulating collagen size and inter fibrillar spacing [43]. In this ex vivo model, KC corneas have
larger inter fibrillar spacing and fibril diameter, which could be attributed to the degradation of
chondroitin sulfate chains via enzymatic action, thus weakening inter and intra fibrillar collagen
binding. The loss of inter fibrillar collagen binding results in lower collagen fibrillar density.
Meanwhile, the weakened intra fibrillar collagen binding causes loosening of the tight packing in
individual collagen fibrils, thereby changing the collagen fibril diameter distribution. ECM treatment
restored the fibril density and altered the fibril diameter distribution. Treatment with different ECM
groups (COR, CART, LN) resulted in different fibril sizes and density distributions. The differences
observed after treatment could potentially be attributed to the varying biological components in the
tissues from which the ECMs were extracted. While dissimilar in the ultrastructures produced, all
ECM treatment groups restored mechanical properties of the cornea equally. Tensile strength is an
important parameter for evaluating crosslinking efficiency, to ensure that the corneal stroma can resist
deformation due to intraocular pressure. The enzyme activity decreased the tensile strength of KC
corneas due to the degradation of proteoglycans,

Women Hollering Creek Woman
The Mexican woman is a highly stereotyped individual. She is either timid and meek, rarely speaking
out of turn, and when she does it is in a small, soft accented voice that begs to be left alone. Or, she is

independent and loud, with a laugh that can be heard all around the room. But both of these women
come from the same place, as do the women who do not belong in either category. In Women

In the vignette entitled Women Hollering Creek , Cleófilas is simply given away to her soon to be
husband by her father, a choice she takes basically no part in herself, despite it being a life altering and
intimate decision. This type of family dynamic is commonplace in Mexican culture, with the power of
the household being ultimately placed upon the head male figure. This is not just a Mexican
convention, however, as many women and girls especially experience gender oppression within their
own families in their relationships with men, often experiencing gender domination (Shaw Lee, 445).
This type of gender oppression can be seen in many different ways within a family with masculine
privilege presenting itself by dominating women in subtle or not subtle ways, one such way being
making and/or vetoing important family decisions , which giving away your daughter to another man
certainly is (Shaw Lee 446). After leaving behind her childhood home and her father, Cleófilas finds
herself not only under new ownership , but also in a completely different country. She does not speak
English, and she has no friends here, or means of leaving. Her power and familiarity has been
completely stripped from her, forcing her to rely on this new man entirely for safety. A fact which her
husband almost immediately abuses, taking to hurting her physically and secluding her from the
world. He has become the new dominant male in her life, able to make all the choices for her,
regardless of her feelings or well being. In this way, the marriage was a transaction of power which
bound Cleófilas into subservience (Shaw Lee (Emma Goldman)

The Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies
According to the merriam webster dictionary, the definition of symbolism; artistic imitation or
invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth or
states. In the book the Lord of the flies, various things are used as symbols to show a truth or some
type of relationship. One of the biggest symbolic things in the book was the conch shell. The conch
shell was originally founded on a waves upwash during the very first stages of the book. Just like
items had a certain meaning, color had symbolic meanings as well. The color of the shell was creamy
white which symbolizes; purity, innocence, fairness, and honor. The conch shell in Lord of the Flies
begins as a symbol for authority, later on it becomes disconnected between the boys, and concludes as
being ignored and basically destroyed. As the boys are stranded on the deserted island, in order to
survive they copy civilization just like back in England. Authority such as rules and a head chief was
much needed. In their quest of the finding such similarities, they come across the conch shell creamy
white by the ocean. The group of boys take it as a symbol of authority inside the group. Ralph, the
main character and the boy who originally found the conch blew it to assemble the group of boys.
Minutes go by and Ralph is picked due to the fact that the conch is in his possession. The group of
boys used meetings as a way to talk about problems. In fact, the process of this to

Introduction
Solvent extraction is dependent on the two liquids having different polarities so that they do not mix
with each other (Example Crude oil and water). When these two liquids are mixed together they form
separate layers, these two liquids would therefore be described as immiscible.
A lot of organic acids cannot be dissolved in water although can be dissolved when placed in organic
solvents. However, their sodium salts are soluble when mixed with water and insoluble when mixed
with organic solvents. This is mostly down to the salts being ionic and the acids are almost completely
undissociated. Sodium salts can be formed by the reaction of an organic acid with aqueous sodium
hydroxide.
RCOOH + NaOH  RCOO Na + H2O
Aim
The aim of the experiment was to purify an organic acid and to synthesise crystals of the organic
solvent. These crystals would then be used to determine the melting point and to calculate the mass of
the sample obtained.
Experimental
20cm3 of organic acid was measured in a measuring cylinder and transferred to the separating funnel.

Children of God
Romans 8:16 tells us that The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of
God. This is a doctrine that receives strong emphasis in the LDS church. From the time they enter
Primary they sing the hymn I am a Child of God. In Young Women s they recite We are daughters of
our Heavenly Father, who loves us and we love him. As LDS members, they live their lives knowing
that they have a loving Father in Heaven. Though other Christian churches share the belief that God is

To claim a God as our parent is either to claim ourselves as Godkind, or claim that God is human.
However, we are told that God made us in His own image, not just in appearance, but in form. LDS
members do not believe that God is Eternal Spirit (ucg) but rather that he is material and humanoid
(bills). Though there is a difference between God and mankind, LDS doctrine tells us that The
difference...may be one of advancement...rather than one of kind or ontological difference (white). We
are the offspring of God, not just in form, but also in disposition: Bills tells us that contrary to the
popular belief of learned men, man is created in both the physical and moral image of God (Bills). In
all senses of the word, we are a chip off the old block. Though not yet posessing the power of God, as
his children, we have the potential to be Gods. The number one thing we must understand is that even

Compare And Contrast Traditional Teaching Styles
No teachers are similar as well as no students learn in the same way. Every teacher has their own
unique teaching style which is based on their educational philosophy, their classroom s demographic,
what subject area they teach, and the school s mission statement. Up until now, teachers are looking
for a system that will engage students in the educational process and will develop the students critical
thinking skills. Moreover, teachers want the classroom to be in order and in control, but they also want
their students to appreciate the learning procedure. These teaching styles can be divided into two
approaches the teacher centered and learner centered.
Traditional teaching styles use teacher centered approach. It includes a teacher that stands at the front
and tells students step by step instructions. The teacher decides what is learned, when it is learned,
how it is learned, and how learning is evaluated. In a nutshell, the teacher is an information giver and
evaluator. The students are just there to learn through lessons and direct instructions. Their attention is
mainly focused on passing tests, assessments, and evaluations.

Aubrey Drake Graham s Houstatlantavegas Quotes
The song I ve chosen to write my paper on is called Houstatlantavegas . Aubrey Drake Graham is a
Canadian born singer and songwriter, who records under his middle name Drake. Born October 24,
1986, met an agent of his father s friend. The agent had helped him pick up a role on a Canadian
television show called Degrassi , playing the role of Jimmy Brooks. Brooks in the show, is a
basketball player who was shot by a classmate and became disabled. With his mother being sick, he
had grown up very poor. His father was a drummer who worked with Jerry Lee Lewis. Drake growing
up lived two different lives, while heavily affected by his parents divorce. In Toronto, he lived in an
upper class life. When in Memphis, Tennessee where his father lives, ... Show more content on

He quotes, We all got dreams and we all start reaching (L. 24), expressing dreams becoming reality.
Lights are spotlighted fame, while the money being thrown is income. Drake quotes Housekeeping
knocking to see if all ya ll decent (L. 25), suggesting party lifestyles. Being intoxicated, while not
remembering who the partner was the night prior. It s hard to leave a surreal occupation with
difficulties, which is expressed in Houstatlantavegas . The song quickly grew popularity on the
mixtape So Far Gone , which was Drakes third mixtape released February 13th, 2009. Being the top
mixtape of all modern music, hit the charts with significant success on billboards top 100. Following
the release of the mixtape, a notorious bid war started between two record labels for the artist to
contract with. Young money record label, had won the upcoming artist. In addition to signing with the
biggest record label, the artist has since released three albums. Unique in their own ways, they all have
different stories they tell. Comparatively, each elaborate on life, love, happiness and struggles.
Together with other well known artists, helps grow album popularity. Equally important, collaborating
together with Drake creates big names for artists themselves. Not only has every album progressed for

Olympic Games And The Olympics
When it comes to the Olympic Games, there is a lot of history behind it. The first Olympics were held
in Olympia, Greece, and the games were played by elite athletes. The games went from 776 BC to 393
AD and stopped up until 1896 AD, when the games were held in Athens, Greece. The Olympics have
become a great way for countries to show off some of the interesting aspects of their country. For a
country to host the Olympics, they must go through a process. First, you must submit a bid to the IOC
(International Olympic Committee) stating why the Olympics should be hosted in your country,
whether it be economic, social, and or environmental reasons. If the IOC chooses a country to host the
Olympics of a certain year, they will let them know that the bid was accepted. Next, the process of
building the stadiums and the houses for the Olympics begins. This is the most costly part of the entire
process. The construction takes many years to complete, and once the construction is finished, the rest
is the setup to prepare for what is to come. After the Olympic Games take place, the goal for the host
country is to leave a legacy. A legacy is defined as the cause effect relationship with the event and its
immediate impacts and ends with clearly identified outcomes (Hiller, 2014, 47). When analyzing a
certain Olympic event, it is imperative to assess all three phases of the games and all of the aspects
possible to determine whether it leaves a positive or negative legacy. When

Multicultural Resetting
In order to develop a deeper sense of awareness about the challenges of working with children within
a multicultural resetting, and also to further develop my inclusive research, choosing a methodology
was an essential step together with understanding different criteria for the assessment of educational
research as discussed in Teaching and Learning Research Briefing , no 80, 2009. But before deciding
on a methodology for this project, it is important to mention that the scope of my investigation is not
finding a solution to a problem, but rather learning about potential issues related to working with
children in a multicultural nursery setting, and problematise the diversity and inclusion aspects
derived from this using critical thinking and academic research methodology. The process of research
required an approach to interviewing, mainly the necessity to plan and conduct a narrative interview,
which can be defined by an interaction or dialogue with one or more individuals in order to build a
narration of their lives within a certain environment. (Soler, 2013) A narrative based methodology in
the form of conducting interviews to research diversity and inclusion have been successfully used for
different levels of research and key studies (Nutbrown and Clough, 2006). ... Show more content on

One possible participant was the nursery manager. Her insight into the general administration
challenges and staff related issues was one way to approach the issue discussed. Another individual I
was thinking to interview was the deputy manager of the nursery, mainly because she has a closer
relation with the other staff members and the parents, as well as interacting more often with the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Aops
In most of the AOPs a combination of these oxidation effects occur. In Fenton´s reagent for example;
Fe(II) is used as a catalyst, in the process Fe(II) is brought to the other oxidation state of Fe(III), in
this process OH* radicals are formed that are able to completely mineralize organic compounds. It is
clear from the standard redox potential data that hydroxyl radical is the strongest known oxidant (2.06
V), second to fluorine (2.23 V) (Table 1). Therefore, the complete mineralization of most of the
organic matters is possible, when the hydroxyl radicals are the main oxidizing species in the solution.
This is one of the major advantages of AOPs, since other chemical oxidation processes mostly lead to
partial oxidation of the target compounds, ant thus, the generation of new hazardous compounds is
possible. The other advantage of AOPs is the generation of neglible amounts of residues and their
applicability, in case of very low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The use of ultrasound technology is shown to be very promising for the degradation of persistent
organic compounds in wastewater as it is proven to be an effective method for degrading organic
effluent into less toxic compounds. The advantages of this technology include potential chemical free
and simultaneous oxidation, thermolysis, shear degradation, enhanced mass transfer processes
together etc. Overall, sonochemical oxidation uses ultrasound to produce cavitation phenomena,
which is defined as the phenomena of the formation, growth and subsequent collapse of microbubbles,
releasing large magnitude of energy, and induces localized extreme conditions. The sonochemical
destruction of pollutants in aqueous phase generally involves several reaction pathways such as
pyrolysis inside the bubble and hydroxyl radical mediated reactions at the bubble liquid interface
and/or in the liquid

  • 2. Analysis Of Nietzsche s Exegesis Of Christianity One obtains the contextual meaning of moral acid by agglutinating the terms corrupt , décadence and rotten. Commentary: Christianity corrupts the natural faculties of man that are intellectually more vigorous, that are the highest intellectual values, considering them as full of temptation, sinful or misleading. Christianity destroys the intellect. If considered the generalization given by Nietzsche there is the risk of to staying away of your conceptualization. One should remember that Nietzsche did not make a exegesis of Christianity, but only he analyzes the interpretation of Christianity to which he had access. To Nietzsche commentators, he condemns all Christianity doctrine and morality, however, Nietzsche had read Christianity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Virtù occurs eight times in Will of Power and one time in AntiChrist, Beyond Good and Evil, Twilight of Idols, Ecce Homo. Virtù: virtue in its primitive signification is manliness, what preeminently distinguishes the full grown and strong man from the feebler members of his own race; it is the power of resolute, strenuous, persevering conflict and resistance. Virtù denotes not simply a human being, but a man endowed with all appropriate manly attributes. [APPMMP Andrew Preston Peabody, (1811 1893), A manual of moral philosophy, New York, Chicago: A. S. • 6. Labelling Theory Labeling theory had its origins in Suicide, a book by French sociologist Émile Durkheim. He found that crime is not so much a violation of a penal code as it is an act that outrages society. He was the first to suggest that deviant labeling satisfies that function and satisfies society s need to control the behavior. As a contributor to American Pragmatism and later a member of the Chicago School, George Herbert Mead posited that the self is socially constructed and reconstructed through the interactions which each person has with the community. The labeling theory suggests that people obtain labels from how others view their tendencies or behaviors. Each individual is aware of how they are judged by others because he or she has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Mind, Self, and Society (1934),[1] he showed how infants come to know persons first and only later come to know things. According to Mead, thought is both a social and pragmatic process, based on the model of two persons discussing how to solve a problem. Our self image is, in fact, constructed of ideas about what we think others are thinking about us. While we make fun of those who visibly talk to themselves, they have only failed to do what the rest of us do in keeping the internal conversation to ourselves. Human behavior, Mead stated, is the result of meanings created by the social interaction of conversation, both real and imaginary. [edit]Frank Tannenbaum Frank Tannenbaum is considered the grandfather of labeling theory. His Crime and Community (1938),[2] describing the social interaction involved in crime, is considered a pivotal foundation of modern criminology. While the criminal differs little or not at all from others in the original impulse to first commit a crime, social interaction accounts for continued acts that develop a pattern of interest to sociologists. Over the course of time the role of women has changed dramatically, and the plays Antigone by Sophocles, Trifles by Susan Glaspell and The Doll House by Henrik Ibsen are great works that show how women can challenge the boundaries that were put on them by a society that was not very accepting of feminism. In Antigone , it does not take long for our main character (Antigone) to step outside of the boundaries set against women in society. Antigone s brothers died in battle as leaders of separate sides, and only one was to be honored after death while the other would remain on the battlefield. Wrote Peter Horry, who would later serve under Marion: quot; His constitution seemed renewed, his frame commenced a second and rapid growth, while his cheeks quitting their pale, suet colored cast, assumed a bright and healthy olive. quot; Apparently, this voyage ended his obsession with the sea, for he farmed his family s plantation for the next ten years. Gradually, his brothers and sisters married and moved away. Around 1750, his father died, leaving Marion to manage the plantation and care for his mother. Though thethe began in 1754, it did not touch the daily lives of South Carolinians until the war s final years. At this time, Cherokees began threatening settlers along the South Carolina border, influencing Governor William Henry Lyttelton to enlarge his military forces. Marion and his brother Gabriel were among the Huguenot recruits. When an expedition led by Colonel Archibald Montgomerie was ambushed by Cherokees near the town of Echoe, Montgomerie s troops suffered heavy losses. The defeat alarmed the South Carolinians, who appealed to Lord Jeffrey Amherst, commander in chief of the British forces

  • 25. Analysis Of The Banking System In Argentina I. Composition of the Banking Sector The banking system in Argentina is highly concentrated. In 2015 the top three banks controlled more than 43% of all commercial banking assets. The top ten banks control more than 77% of banking assets. This reflects a long term trend of consolidation beginning in the 1990s when banking reforms were introduced and continued following the 2001 crisis. Today only 78 banks remain in operation, compared to 200 in the mid 1990s. Market entry is made difficult by both evolving regulation and the concentrated power of large, established banks. Argentine banks have expanded their presences in recent years. In mid 2016 a total 4,507 branches were in operation across the nation. Still, this ranks below the other ... The two next largest domestic banks are the privately owned Banco de Galicia y Buenos Aires, controlling 7.9%, and state owned Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires, controlling 7.8%. Several large foreign banks also operate in Argentina. These include the Banco Santander Rio (controlling 8% of assets), BBVA Banco Francés (5.6% of assets), and HSBC (3.2%). Some foreign banks have reduced, or have indicated plans to reduce, their presences in Argentina. In 2016, Citibank agreed to sell off most of its assets to Banco Rio Santander, citing desires to cut costs. Despite such moves, Argentina may appear attractive to foreign banks seeking to expand in the Latin American market. The soundness and profitability of Argentine banks make them potential takeover targets for international banks, assuming a friendly regulatory climate. II. State of the Banking Sector The banking sector has sound fundamentals. Banks are highly capitalized. As of July 2017, the BCRA reports that banks have a capital compliance rate (qualified capital/ risk weighted assets) of 14.7%. This exceeds the requirements by 79%. One way humans can negatively impact the water quality of an area of water can include using large amounts of fertilizers for the farming purpose of growing crops. These fertilizers end up draining into rivers and increasing the concentration of chemicals like nitrates and phosphates, thus causing the buildup of algae and blocking sunlight from providing energy to the organisms and plants in the water. Another way humans can impact the water quality negatively involves using chemical waste products in factories because chemicals like cyanide, zinc, copper, lead, and mercury in these products can get into rivers and kill off animals living in the water. Additionally, these chemicals can invade rivers so much that they affect the food cycle to the point where the tertiary and quaternary consumers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 27. Classical Approach To Utilitarianism 2.1. Classical approach The Classical approach for utilitarianism has two main prominent thinkers who are Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mills. Jeremy Bentham s concept of Utilitarianism The concept of Utilitarianism was developed by Jeremy Bentham (1748 1832). He belonged to the positivist school of Jurisprudence. According to him every human life is governed by two hedonistic principles that is pleasure and pain. He believed that every individual tries to maximize his own and pleasure and also decrease pain as much as possible. Although it would seem an individualistic perspective but he also applied this principle to the society as a whole. With this he argued that conscience and sense of justice are emotions present in every human being through which comes the sense which involves a desire to punish those who have harmed others. Just like Bentham Mill also sought to reform law and social policy with his theory of utilitarianism. The aim of increasing happiness underlies his argument of women s suffrage and free speech. It can be seen best in his arguments regarding social status of women. He argued that it was important to improve the status of women because they were capable of these cultivated faculties, and denying them access to education and other facilities for development is resulting in a significant loss of source of happiness for the ... Roy Lichtenstein Drowning Girl Essay Critical Analysis Drowning Girl By Roy Lichtenstein (1963) A Critical Art Analysis of Roy Lichtenstein s Drowning Girl (1963) Painting Roy Lichtenstein s Drowning Girl is one of the most renowned pieces of art produced by the American artist. The painting that was created by the artist in the year 1963 on a 67 5/8 x 66 3/4 canvas is contained in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City, and is one of the most viewed modernistic pieces of art in the museum (MoMA). The message of heartbreak in the art is reflected in words contained in the thought bubble and the tears which reveal that the girl in the picture might have been in a romantic relationship with a man named Brad, who broke her heart. Even more clearly, the title Drowning girl, adds to the meaning of the piece of art by suggesting to the viewer that the girl may be drowning in ocean waves. The maneuver of a girl in distress in the painting further points to the deep interest of Roy Lichtenstein in the pain that women go through after heartbreaks. Notably, evidence suggests that as a follower of Picasso, Lichtenstein might have been inspired by the former s frequent use of images of crying women to paint the Drowning Girl (Schneider 142). Overall, the use of ocean waves by the author symbolizes distress, as well the vast amount of tears that the heartbreak might have induced which arouse empathy in the viewer. Although the girl seems to lie in peace with her head on the water like a pillow, the submergence of the rest of her body in water appears to communicate her dire need for assistance. Thus, I would say that the piece of art reminds me of the importance of being considerate of the feelings of fellow humans, especially for people in romantic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This study investigates the potential application of leveraging these roles of ECM for structural reinforcement of the cornea to tackle the clinically relevant challenges of corneal ectasia. We evaluated the benefits of ECM via biomechanical, thermal, ultrastructural and gene expression characterization, by treating enzyme digested corneas with ECM conditioned media. ECM treatment demonstrated an increase in Young s modulus on the KC corneas. Moreover, it restored thermal stability, and regulated gene expression of corneal stromal cells. We have therefore conclusively established that tissue derived ECM ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the native cornea, the proteoglycans containing chondroitin sulfate chains plays an important role on regulating collagen size and inter fibrillar spacing [43]. In this ex vivo model, KC corneas have larger inter fibrillar spacing and fibril diameter, which could be attributed to the degradation of chondroitin sulfate chains via enzymatic action, thus weakening inter and intra fibrillar collagen binding. The loss of inter fibrillar collagen binding results in lower collagen fibrillar density. Meanwhile, the weakened intra fibrillar collagen binding causes loosening of the tight packing in individual collagen fibrils, thereby changing the collagen fibril diameter distribution. ECM treatment restored the fibril density and altered the fibril diameter distribution. Treatment with different ECM groups (COR, CART, LN) resulted in different fibril sizes and density distributions. The differences observed after treatment could potentially be attributed to the varying biological components in the tissues from which the ECMs were extracted. While dissimilar in the ultrastructures produced, all ECM treatment groups restored mechanical properties of the cornea equally. Tensile strength is an important parameter for evaluating crosslinking efficiency, to ensure that the corneal stroma can resist deformation due to intraocular pressure. In the vignette entitled Women Hollering Creek , Cleófilas is simply given away to her soon to be husband by her father, a choice she takes basically no part in herself, despite it being a life altering and intimate decision. This type of family dynamic is commonplace in Mexican culture, with the power of the household being ultimately placed upon the head male figure. This is not just a Mexican convention, however, as many women and girls especially experience gender oppression within their own families in their relationships with men, often experiencing gender domination (Shaw Lee, 445). This type of gender oppression can be seen in many different ways within a family with masculine privilege presenting itself by dominating women in subtle or not subtle ways, one such way being making and/or vetoing important family decisions , which giving away your daughter to another man certainly is (Shaw Lee 446). After leaving behind her childhood home and her father, Cleófilas finds herself not only under new ownership , but also in a completely different country. The Conch Shell In Lord Of The Flies According to the merriam webster dictionary, the definition of symbolism; artistic imitation or invention that is a method of revealing or suggesting immaterial, ideal, or otherwise intangible truth or states. In the book the Lord of the flies, various things are used as symbols to show a truth or some type of relationship. One of the biggest symbolic things in the book was the conch shell. The conch shell was originally founded on a waves upwash during the very first stages of the book. Just like items had a certain meaning, color had symbolic meanings as well. The color of the shell was creamy white which symbolizes; purity, innocence, fairness, and honor. The conch shell in Lord of the Flies begins as a symbol for authority, later on it becomes disconnected between the boys, and concludes as being ignored and basically destroyed. As the boys are stranded on the deserted island, in order to survive they copy civilization just like back in England. Authority such as rules and a head chief was much needed. In their quest of the finding such similarities, they come across the conch shell creamy white by the ocean. The group of boys take it as a symbol of authority inside the group. Ralph, the main character and the boy who originally found the conch blew it to assemble the group of boys. Minutes go by and Ralph is picked due to the fact that the conch is in his possession. A lot of organic acids cannot be dissolved in water although can be dissolved when placed in organic solvents. However, their sodium salts are soluble when mixed with water and insoluble when mixed with organic solvents. This is mostly down to the salts being ionic and the acids are almost completely undissociated. Sodium salts can be formed by the reaction of an organic acid with aqueous sodium hydroxide. The first Olympics were held in Olympia, Greece, and the games were played by elite athletes. The games went from 776 BC to 393 AD and stopped up until 1896 AD, when the games were held in Athens, Greece. The Olympics have become a great way for countries to show off some of the interesting aspects of their country. For a country to host the Olympics, they must go through a process. First, you must submit a bid to the IOC (International Olympic Committee) stating why the Olympics should be hosted in your country, whether it be economic, social, and or environmental reasons. If the IOC chooses a country to host the Olympics of a certain year, they will let them know that the bid was accepted. • 44. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Aops In most of the AOPs a combination of these oxidation effects occur. In Fenton´s reagent for example; Fe(II) is used as a catalyst, in the process Fe(II) is brought to the other oxidation state of Fe(III), in this process OH* radicals are formed that are able to completely mineralize organic compounds. It is clear from the standard redox potential data that hydroxyl radical is the strongest known oxidant (2.06 V), second to fluorine (2.23 V) (Table 1). Therefore, the complete mineralization of most of the organic matters is possible, when the hydroxyl radicals are the main oxidizing species in the solution. This is one of the major advantages of AOPs, since other chemical oxidation processes mostly lead to partial oxidation of the target compounds, ant thus, the generation of new hazardous compounds is possible. The other advantage of AOPs is the generation of neglible amounts of residues and their applicability, in case of very low ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The use of ultrasound technology is shown to be very promising for the degradation of persistent organic compounds in wastewater as it is proven to be an effective method for degrading organic effluent into less toxic compounds. The advantages of this technology include potential chemical free and simultaneous oxidation, thermolysis, shear degradation, enhanced mass transfer processes together etc. Overall, sonochemical oxidation uses ultrasound to produce cavitation phenomena, which is defined as the phenomena of the formation, growth and subsequent collapse of microbubbles, releasing large magnitude of energy, and induces localized extreme conditions. The sonochemical destruction of pollutants in aqueous phase generally involves several reaction pathways such as pyrolysis inside the bubble and hydroxyl radical mediated reactions at the bubble liquid interface and/or in the liquid ...
