The main settings in the book are his four tours aka where Chris Kyle went to war
and served our country. Another setting is the bar and he is there a lot and that is
where he met his wife Taya. Another setting of the book is when he comes to his
house and the shooting range is at the end of the book where he helps out wounded
soldiers by helping them shoot and other shooting fundamentals. The last settingof the
book is at the hospital when Taya gives birth to his two kids. In the movie it was
just war and going back to his house and seeing his family. The settings in the movie
did not match the settings in book there were only a handful of parts that were the
same. The only exception that the book made was a good visual/ summary of his
life, and because it didn t not have the description/ all of the settings that the book had.

My Reflection on Graceling
I was really excited when people told me there was romance, action, and adventure
because they re my favorite genres. But, I was disappointed when I read the first
page. It s 3rd person limited. I thought it would be a little harder to connect with the
characters. However, as I kept rereading some lines and questioning the characters, it
became easier for me to understand them. For example, Katsa, the main character of
Graceling, written by Kristin Cashmore, musters up her courage to defy Randa
because she could no longer tolerate him even though she was afraid to imagine what
would happen next. Randa wanted others to fear him and to do that, he had Katsa
torture people who didn t listen to his orders. According to Susan Fisk, empathy for
another s happiness and suffering depends fundamentally on recognizing that the
other has a mind that is, the same capacities for thought, emotion, desire, intention,
and self awareness as ourselves. I empathize with Bitterblue as she is strong facing
hardships throughout the book.
Bitterblue s father is a villain who enjoys torturing others, but her courage still
remains. Leck s grace allows him to manipulate people with his voice and the
people who hears it, spreads it. He has the option to ask, but he prefers to do it with
his grace instead as he finds it more amusing and hides his grace with an eyepatch.
That way, others would not suspect that he is a Graceling. My father isn t like that.

Blinded In the story Cathedral , by Raymond Carver, the narrator is conflicted with
issues of inner demons that are manifested in a blind man whom he perceives as a
danger to his marriage. The narrator in this story is a good example of an anti hero
showing negative characteristics while never actually being a bad guy. This gives
the idea that he is very humanistic character. That being said, he is a flawed character
who is just trying to please his wife while not giving up what he wants. In the end he

He is always focused on his wife, and even though it is not his ideal of a perfect
marriage he does seem to love and admire his wife as if it was. He is capable of
telling us a lot of details about his wife without ever calling her out or even trying
to persuade us to dislike her. His love for her makes it possible for the narrator to
get past his dislike of Robert, and allow him to stay in his house. Even after all the
dislike he shares with us in the very beginning of the story. He comes into the
kitchen to talk to his wife, and tries his best to be a nice guy about the topic of the
blind guest which is a much different view from earlier. This persuades us to look at
the narrator in his wife s perspective, even though we have knowledge that she doesn
t about the narrators anxiety over Robert. Another large detail we have over the wife
is that the narrator is jealous of Robert and is just using his blindness as a scapegoat.
However, even though this extreme case of jealousy is unhealthy for their
relationship, the narrator, in his own way, tells his wife he loves her. When his
wife tells him If you love me... you can do this for me. If you don t love me, okay.
