Descriptive Essay Person
Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself may seem like a straightforward task, as one might
think that no one knows oneself better than the person in question. However, the challenge lies in
striking a balance between self-reflection and objective description. It can be challenging to
present oneself in a way that is engaging and insightful without sounding overly boastful or self-
deprecating.
The difficulty stems from the need to choose specific traits, experiences, or anecdotes that truly
capture the essence of one's personality. Too much detail can make the essay tedious, while too
little can leave it lacking depth. The writer must navigate the fine line between self-awareness
and self-promotion, providing a genuine glimpse into their character without crossing into the
realm of exaggeration.
Moreover, tackling the emotional and personal aspects of one's life requires a delicate touch. It
demands introspection and a willingness to delve into the vulnerabilities that make each
individual unique. This process can be emotionally taxing, as one must confront both strengths
and weaknesses, successes and failures, in a way that resonates with the reader.
On a technical level, finding the right words to convey the nuances of personality and
experiences can be a daunting task. The challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and creating a
narrative that is both vivid and authentic. Striking the right tone is crucial, ensuring that the essay
is neither too formal nor too casual, but instead strikes a balance that captivates the reader's
attention.
In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay about oneself is a challenging endeavor that requires a
delicate balance between self-disclosure and thoughtful reflection. It necessitates a careful
selection of details and a mastery of language to create a compelling narrative. Despite the
difficulties, the process can be a rewarding exercise in self-discovery and expression.

The Time Of Industrialization And Urban Areas
The time of industrialization brought the population from rural to suburban and
urban areas. Many people have moved closer to cities for jobs. Others leave
because there isn t much left in rural areas besides farming. Since then, people
have continued to move out of the country sides and into urban areas leaving
smaller towns with fewer people. The idea of small town America is becoming
more obscure as people continue to leave. The small town in Chester County,
Pennsylvania had a similar outcome in the 1970s. The picture appears to show a
typical town in rural America. The small town s picture appears to have been
taken on a dark and dreary day. The town appears almost empty with only the
cemetery of the dead remaining. From the picture, it appears as though quite
literally, rural life in America is dying with the many dead people in the cemetery.
All the trees in the town have no leaves. They sit leafless and dead along the streets
and in yards. The grass also appears browner and lifeless. This is all very symbolic
in the idea that this town, and in general that small towns are dying out. This left
rural towns secluded and out of reach to the busy outside world. People wanted to
be a part of the new technological world, which often left these small rural towns in
the dust. Leaving the rural areas created more urban sprawl, which led to many
issues. Once people began living closer to and in cities, it began to create problems.
These problems would create the idea of urban
Wollstonecraft And Rousseau
Both Jean Jacques Rousseau and Mary Wollstonecraft agree that in society women
and men are not equals. Rousseau s idea that socialization brings inequality in his
Discourse On the Origin of Inequality is manipulated by Wollstonecraft in her A
Vindication of the Rights of Women. She uses his arguments to prove that the
inequality between men and women is not natural, but it comes from Rousseau s
idea of socialized inequality. The inequality experienced by women is a product of
society, which Wollstonecraft tries to prove by uses Rousseau s arguments about
language and dependency. Wollstonecraft seems to agree with Rousseau when she
says, that the female in point of strength is, in general, inferior to the male
(Wollstonecraft, 8). She does not say that all women are inferior in strength to men,
nor does she conclude from this that women, being physically inferior, should be
dependent on men. Yet, she twists the argument when she says, in order to preserve
their innocence, as ignorance is courteously termed, truth is hidden from them, and
they are made to assume an artificial character before their faculties have acquired
any strength (44). This is near contradiction to her previous admission of women s
natural physical inferiority. Her use of the word faculties is ambiguous as to whether
she means physical or mental faculties, so perhaps, she is arguing that physical
inequality could be part of the oppression of women, instead of it all belonging to
nature s fault.
Analysis Of Game Of Thrones
Game of Thrones is a show that depicts several families struggling with issues such
as incest, financial concerns, politics, and murder. It is a show that has captivated
audiences since the books were released and exploded when the first session
premiered. Contrary to typical scripts, main protagonists are not always provided
happy endings and several key characters met their conclusion painfully. Even though
several key characters have undergone gruesome ends, fortunately, a familythat has
been a fan favorite for several sessions has persisted. Sam, Gilly, along with their son
baby Sam have managed to survive through season seven and have captured the
hearts of audiences everywhere.
Sam is known for his sweet demeanor, intelligence, and untraditional bravery while
Gilly is recognized for her incredible resiliency and her hopeful outlook on life.
Currently, the young family is seeking family counseling at the request of Gilly for
Sam s perceived lack of commitment to the family. The main complaint is that Sam
spends too much of his time in the Citadel and not enough time with his family. To
meet the needs of the family, the counselor plans to use Solution Focus Therapy
(SFT) in order to assist the family discover solutions to their presenting concerns.
Introduction to the Family s Story Sam firsts meets Gilly when he is on a mission
with the men of the Night s Watch, sometimes known as Crows, north of The Wall.

A Comparison Of The Yellow Wallpaper And The Yellow
Wallpaper
One similarity between the two works is the that we are limited on where we get
our information. Gilman s short story The Yellow Wallpaper, we see everything
through the eyes of the narrator. The entire story is told from her secret diary
when she has the time to write as shown in the line, I did write for a while in spite
of them; but it does exhaust me a good deal having to be so sly about it (Gilman
527). Due to this, we can only make assumptions based on the information we get
from her. She tells us she is in A colonial mansion, a hereditary estate (Gilman 526)
and that she stays in a big, airy room...It was a nursery first and then a playroom and
gymnasium (Gilman 527). However, once we reach the end of the story, with the...

However there appears to be an element of truth to her fantasies. In the end the
narration returns to an outside perspective where Dr. Gorski reveals In just one
week here, she stabbed an orderly, started a fire and helped another patient to
escape (Snyder). These coincide with actions taken while within her fantasies
which leads us to ask what was really going on. In both Gilman s story and Snyder s
film we are forced to reevaluate what we have been told and lead to believe and
discern for ourselves what was truly fact and what may have only been delusions of
someone s mind.
The vivid descriptions in The Yellow Wallpaperhelp to bring the reader along in the
narrators decent into a kind of psychosis. It starts mildly, with her describing the
color of wallpaper as repellant, almost revolting; a smoldering unclean yellow
(Gilman 528). As more time passes she begins to see more things in the paper such
as a recurrent spot where the pattern lolls like a broken neck and two bulbous eyes
start at you, and for it have so much expression in an inanimate thing (Gilman 592).
As the pattern and descriptions get more twisted, we get visual clues of the madness
that is slowly consuming the narrator. The color of the paper even begins to become
a physical thing she can smell descried as, creep[ing] all over the
house...sulking...hiding...lying in wait for me...It gets into my hair (Gilman 534). In
the end we get a graphic visual representation of her full psychosis
Why I Want To Attend Carnegie Mellon University
Carnegie Mellon University is unquestionably my ideal choice. Growing up in the
fairly populated suburbs in Chester County, Pennsylvania, I liked to meet new
people; I always liked to talk with someone that had different backgrounds or
beliefs. Not only because I enjoyed encountering the unusual, but because I could see
how similar all people are. Coming from a Buddhist background where I learned that
people truly are equal not only in natural rights but in aspirations in success and
entertainment. I believe that Carnegie Mellon University is the perfect opportunity to
meet unique people. By attending this grand college, I would have the ability to find
new hobbies, people, and interests. I could expand my entire world.
In addition to discovering new hobbies and meeting different people, the
opportunities at the Carnegie Mellon University in the field of computer science are
nearly limitless. As an aspiring computer science major, Carnegie Mellon University
proves to be the champion in computer science. With courses from robotics to
software engineering, all my primary interests within the field can be provided by the
university. As a member of the Vexmen of Brandywine Robotics and a interested

The university lies at the heart of Pittsburgh, a former industrial city making
progressive strides. Being a part of that city would serve as a daily motivation to
continue those progressive strides individually. When visiting the Carnegie Mellon
University on the fourth of August 2016, I admired everything about the campus
life. Moreover, I always preferred the city life; having the urban lifestyle with
everything within walking distance seems like a dream in comparison to my
suburban area. Due to the varying student body, excellent education, and city
presence, Carnegie Mellon University is a perfect fit for
The Federalism Of The United States
Americans utilize the Federalism idea as putting into effect the Constitution for
Federal, State, and Local governments. These areas are served as different areas with
different needs and goals within the federalist theory. The National Government has
expressed powers over the nation and subjects that effect our nation. The State has
limited powers that are involved within the State s boundaries. The local government
is expressed to help regulate the states. All together the governments make one
unitary system that can metaphorically be described as a cake. The breakup of
federalismstarted out being broken up in layers, like a layer cake, with distinct
separated powers of National government and State. Accordingly, as the New

The arguments resembled that the Federalist held the upper hand since they were
wealthy landowners to take charge of the democracy. Conversely, Antifederalist
were afraid to give into signing the constitution in favor of the Federalist ideas
because they felt it would grant too much power to the National Government instead
of the States. The dispute between the Federalist and Antifederalist lead to, what is
known today, as a breakthrough of famous Federalist Papers that lead to the greater
understanding of the Constitution. The Federalist Papers appeared as persuasive
writings developed by what we know today as historical figures that make up the
founding fathers of the ratification of the Constitution. The writings of the Federalist
argued that they held the privilege to secure the government to favor the economy.
The Federalist wrote to convince the public in the newspapers that their views and
actions would create a perfect balance and protect the Nation s people. On the other
hand, Anti Federalist opposed ratification of the Constitution in favor of the
federalist ideas. The Antifederalist persuaded that the Federalist would favor slavery,
and people s rights would be in danger. The two groups feuding created an important
factor in the U.S. Constitution. Like so, the Federalist considered the Antifederalist
ideas and managed to compromise a Bill of Rights to be added to the Constitution in
favor of absolute security to people s rights
Life Alterations In The Pigman By Paul Zindel
Life Alterations
Has a friend or family member recently had a life altering hardship which affected
their lifestyle? In the Book The Pigman by Paul Zindel there were many examples
of hardships that led to a changing of the character s feelings, attitude and lifestyle.
Such changes are like chunks of snow on a paved, smooth road. They are bumps
which alter one s view for moments, but when the bump is surpassed one can see
clearly again and are back on the smoothly paved road. Throughout the story, many
ice chunks were overcome. For example, Concetta died, Lorraine s dad cheated on
her mom, and Lorraine and John threw a party. Ultimately, these events resulted in
the changing of character traits. Hardships can make a big change in someone s
lifestyle.
Falling in love is an easy way to become heartbroken. If a loved one may leave, that
change may alter your everyday life or mood. Likewise, Pigman experienced
complications once his wife had died. For example, as Pigman whimpered She loved
me, we loved each other, we didn t ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, Lorraine, seeing a chance to throw a party at someone elseЕ› house
which is the ВЁcoolВЁ thing to do, threw a party at PigmanЕ› home while he way
away. Deep down the two knew that throwing the party was a betrayal of trust
Pigman had in them. The distress Pigman had when he found his home trashed was
overwhelming for him. As Lorraine wrote ВЁHe was just standing there looking
down at me, and there was no smile on his face. No smile at all (Zindel 128). After
the fact, Pigman ignored Lorraine and John which resulted in them having to spend
time in their own homes, which was a big change for them. During the time which
the three were not talking many changes arose. The party changed Pigman, Lorraine
and JohnЕ› lives temporarily. Rather, few may say that the party was harmless and
had only wrecked physical possessions, but that is inaccurate in that theirs and
PigmanЕ› trust was
Conspiracy Theory Pros And Cons
The power of cons
There is a conspiracy theory behind almost all major events and tragedies in the
world. At first you might just brush off these theories and ideas thinking that they are
nothing but a bunch of nonsense. Some conspiracies can easily be proven wrong but
In the more popular and well known conspiracy theories such as the 9/11 attacks and
the assassination of JFK there are very credible facts to back up the idea belief that
is being portrayed. Weather you believe in conspiracy theories or not, there is some
alarming evidence in some the concept that will make you think twice about what
you presumed to be true about some events. For the those who do believe in these

On Friday November 22, 1963 in Dallas texas the 35th president of the United
States John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald while
travelling in a motorcade in Dealey Plaza, or that is what is said to have
happened.(Miller, 2017) Some believe that there was a little more to the
assassination then just the one shooter. This conspiracy is that there was more
than just one shooter and that there was a larger group group behind the event
other than just Oswald himself. There are quite a few events that occured that
make this theory that much more believable. The two things that happened that
stand out to me the most are the murder of Oswald just two days after JFK s death
and the fact that after audio analysis the HSCA concluded that there was a fourth
gun shot. Oswald was arrested soon after killing JFK but two days later when He
was being transferred from city jail to county jail he was shot at close range and
killed by Jack Ruby. (Victor, 2017)This lead some people tof believe that Oswald
was part of a larger group or organization that had helped him plan the assassination
and that Jack Ruby was sent to Oswald to make sure he would not expose the group.
The second bit of evidence that is very compelling is in the audio recordings of the
assassination. After analyzing the Audio recording of the assassination the HSCA

Colonial Literature Summary
Colonial Literature began with the work of English adventurers and colonists in the
New World benefit the readers in the country. Some of these early works reached the
level of literature, as in the truthful account of his adventures by Captain John Smith
and the journalistic histories of John Winthrop and William Bradford in New
England. From the beginning, however, the literature of New England was also
directed to the improvement and instruction of the colonists themselves, intended to
direct them in the ways of the gods. The first literature work was published in the
Puritan colonies, was the Bay Psalm Book, and the whole effort of the divines
wrote furiously to set forth their view. Among them was Roger Williams and
Thomas Hooker; who was to defend and promote visions of the religious state. They
set forth their visions in effect the first express the concept of national destiny in a
series of passion histories. Then as time went forward, you had the New Nation or
New literature. And that was basically the approach of the American Revolution and
the achievement of the actual independence of the United Stateswas a time of
intellectual activity as well as social and the economic change. The men who were
the chief molders of the new state included excellent writers, such as Thomas
Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. They were well supported by others such as
Philip Freneau, who was the first American lyric poet of distinction and an able
journalist; the pamphleteer Thomas

When starting up your own Business in Events many factors need to be taken into
consideration beforehand. This includes what skills you already have, considering

of events do you want to manage, do you have the determination, How are you
planning to finance the venture and all the legal requirements. Firstly what skills
do you posses that will help? Do you have enough knowledge in Employment law,
Can you manage your finances, and do you know the necessary aspects of health
and safety that are required? Communication skills are essential as you need to be

also a good idea to talk to those who may have experience in setting up a business
or those who are already in the industry, they can offer you insight, guidance and
support. You will also need to consider that in case of an emergency you should
take out life insurance and income protection, this should cover losing the benefits
of a pension, sick pay and paid holiday that you previously may have been entitled

advised that you take out a fully comprehensive SWOT analysis on your business

as a situational analysis, it s a chance for you to assess your strengths and who will
be your competitor/Threat. Personal SWOT analysis is a great opportunity to
assess where your weaknesses lie and if you can take extra training or employ
additional help in the future to overcome weaknesses. You need to be realistic and
honest about these because if you aren t it can hinder the success of your business
and possibly be your downfall. Fully research the current industry and try to find
any gaps in the market where your business can excel. Research all the different

Hamlet s Treatment Towards Gertrude
Hamlet s treatment towards Gertrude (mother) is not unreasonable but the way
Hamlet treats Ophelia is a little harsh in the beginning when she is completely
innocent. Further along through the play Hamlet s treatment towards Ophelia can be
considered reasonable since she basically decided to side with Claudius and Polonius.
The way in which Hamlettreats Gertrudeand Ophelia doesn t seem to be a part of
the misogyny in the culture. Hamlet does seem to possess a great hatred for
women, especially the women in his close circle of peers. The hatred he has for
women is strong and visible to readers. The way Hamlet treats Gertrude is
completely just. Hamlet feels his mother has betrayed him because she married his
father s murderer shortly after his father was killed. Hamlet expected his mother,
the loving wife of his deceased father, to grieve and never marry again or at least
not after two months but Gertrude did. Also, by Gertrude marrying a bad man
such as Claudius has caused Hamlet to believe that Gertrude is a bad person and
she is not to be trusted. Hamlet thinks that his mother may have been a part of his
father s murder. Hamlet treats her just as he treats Claudius because Hamlet feels
Gertrude is no better. Hamlet has the right to be angry and expresses it the way he
seems fit and his mother deserves such treatment. Gertrude did move rather quickly
after Hamlet s father passed and she didn t seem to be fazed by his father s death
anymore. If the readers were in
Personal Observation On High School
Personal Observation of Problems on Brighton High School s Campus I am
currently a Brighton High School Senior. Over the four years I have been at this
school there have been things that I have longed to improve or change at my school.
Some are just dreams that could never come into effect like, putting in stop lights and
painted lines in the hallway similar to the road. Most of the time though they are
realistic ideas that could drastically help impact the school campus. In my school
campus I feel that the students are never aloud any time to enjoy their high school
career, the school is never fully clean, and that all teachers do not strive to teach
students to the best of their ability. Although, these are some things I would love to
see change I am not the only one with these views. At Brighton High School the
only importance is the end of the year test. Even though end of the year tests is
very important there are other things that should hold some importance at the
school. Also the school should give some rewards for all the hard work the
students do, along with encouraging the students to try even harder. Sara said, I
have always longed for the administration of Brighton High School to support the
students and the cardinal spirit (Smith). This is just one person s opinion and there
are many others that agree with her statement, for if administration cared deeply
about the students the students would care deeply about their work. Olivia agrees
with Sara and she says, I wish administration would give an incentive for students
to try. I personally care about my grades, but many do not and if administration
would have an incentive, for example, pep rallies every once in a while, then I feel
many more students will care about their grades (Brunner). With these two students
view it is clear that the students of Brighton High School feel that there should be
more events held on campus. At Brighton High School the school is never fully
clean, it may look clean but that is surly a deception. On campus the custodians
always seem to be working, but the job never seems done. I don t know if it is the
students, custodians, or the school as a whole is at fought, but either way it is always
nasty. Lydia
Compare And Contrast Mesopotamia And Indus Valley...
In the duration of these two civilizations, the people of Mesopotamia and the Indus
River Valley innovated their world, and in turn, changed ours. Mesopotamia
spanned from 5000 3500 B.C.E. between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, while the
Indus Valley s main time period was 3300 1300 B.C.E, in what is now Pakistan and
Northwest India. These civilizations left a mark on the world through the way they
ran their cities, how they worshipped, and the legacy that came out of Mesopotamia
and the Indus River Valley. One of the chief characteristics of both Mesopotamia
and the Indus River Valley were their political systems. At first in Mesopotamia,
there were just individual cities, such as Sumer and Babylon. Eventually these
turned into a mainly central government with two branches. The first was a counsel
made up of religious authorities, and the second was the lugal. The lugal was the
name for the monarch of Mesopotamia, basically like a king. Possibly the most
famous lugal, Hammurabi was the lugal of Babylon. He is most easily known with
the code of laws that he created, the code of Hammurabi. It was one of the first
writings of its kind, detailing everything from trading procedures to punishments for
every type of crime. Even with these two branches of government connecting all of
the cities in Mesopotamia, they were mainly independent cities. Each city collected
their own taxes, and had power enough to battle with each other. Mesopotamia was a
patriarchal society, with most,
Comparing Tristan And Isolde Vs. Lancelot And Guinevere
Love can be a person s greatest gift or curse that will bring them to their demise. It
infects their mind, controls their actions and consumes their thoughts with the
singular obsession of being around their love. In the love stories, Tristan and Isolde
and Lancelot and Guinevere, the characters face problems of the soul, and that bring
about monumental repercussions to everyone around them. In both of these works,
the characters experience loving someone out of reach. Their loveis taboo; it will
never be accepted because of their circumstances. This causes a rift in their stream
of normality and forces actions to be made. Love triangles emerge since the
characters are trying to find a way to achieve their goals but still keep what they
have. In both of the stories, Tristan and Isolde love each other similarly to Lancelot
and Guinevere. All they can think about is each other. (insert quote). Lancelot went
behind his king s back to be with Guinevere just like Tristan. Both of them knew that
each of their kings was with the woman they love, but both realized that no matter
what they did their relationship would be forever confined to the shackles of secrecy,
darting glances of affection and sporadic moments of privacy. The relationship
between the enamored men and their kings is different. Tristan was the stepson of the
king, and it hurt him, even more, to see his beloved with his father. While on the
other hand, Lancelot s situation was a little different.
Essay on Gossip and Deceit in Much Ado About Nothing
Gossip and Deceit in Much Ado About Nothing Much Ado About Nothing is
primarily a play about gossip. Indeed, the title means a big fuss about a trifle, and by
the end, this is exactly what happens. All accusations will come to nothing, causing
the play to end the same way as if they never occurred at all. Shakespeare brilliantly
plays on the meanings of nothing throughout this play. The word nothing would
actually have been pronounced noting in his time. It can mean worthless, a person of
little worth, or also mean everything, in the sense that much ado is made about
everything (Smith). Much of the plot is moved along by characters eavesdropping on
a conversation and either misunderstanding what they overhear or being deceived by

When the prince congratulates Claudio upon Hero s father s approval to marry
him he begins to be confused. In fact, it was the Prince wooing Hero for Claudio at
the masked ball. Don John lied to Claudio to create a disturbance at the ball. Don
John s malevolent plan to ruin Claudio and Hero s wedding was to take effect the
night before they were to wed. The malicious Don John constructed, or rather
misconstructed, the scheme that insinuated Claudio s belief in Hero s faithlessness.
It is Don John who reports to Claudio and Don Pedro that Hero is having an affair,
and he who stage manages an elaborate charade featuring his own henchman
Borachio and an unwitting stand in for Hero to lend credence to this fiction. Perhaps
the most significant thing to be noted in connection with this deception is that the
spectator does not witness the crucial scene in which Claudio overhears the
counterfeit exchanges between Margaret and Borachio that persuade him of Hero s
guilt. We learn of this episode only at second hand, when Borachio boasts of his
exploit (Lucking). The spectator of the play watches the Watchman watching
Borachio while the latter narrates what he calls his tale relating how Claudio was
inveigled into watching an artificial scene enacting Don John s fiction. Once again,
what lies at the heart of this convoluted recursive machinery is a nothing (a nocturnal

Case Study of Scientific Glass
Scientific Glass, Inc. (SG), founded in 1992, was a midsize player in the industry
that provided specialized glassware for laboratory and research facilities. Enjoying
annual sales of $86 million for 2009 and an above average growth in the industry,
SG faced a constant challenge of competition with both large laboratory equipment
providers and smaller glassware provider. To stay at leading position in such a
highly competitive industry, the company had established its own dedicated direct
sales force along with the attempt to increase customer service levels and improve
customer response times by adding additional warehouses. By the end of 2008, in
addition to the two original warehouses, SG had managed to bring on line six more...

Shipment costs between warehouses were also considered in case of occurrences of
stocking out with a 99% fill rate.
For the eight warehouses option, average annual cost was $3,088.65; for the two

warehouse option, the cost was $3,480.91 and for the outsourcing option, the cost
was $2,678.61.
In the calculation of average inventory levels, a desired service level of 99% and a
review period of 14 days with a lead time of 5 days were used to calculate the safety
stocks and order up to levels for each product under each circumstance. Then the
amounts of overstock units were obtained by calculating the differences between
OULs and average demands, and the overstock inventories were the overstock units
multiplied by the unit cost. The annual average inventory levels were calculated to be
$31,560.75 for the eight warehouses option, $14,120.28 for the two warehouses
option and $9,403.24 for the one centralized warehouse option. As for the outsourcing
option, the responsibility of inventory management would fall upon GL, so that there
would be no inventories for SG.
In the calculation of optimal fill rates, 10% of the gross margin was calculated as
the underage cost and 0.54% of the unit cost was calculated as the overage cost.
However, with the outsourcing option, there were no costs due to loss
Modem Profession
An occupation does not become a profession merely because its members decide it
will be one. Modem professions share much in common with classical professions.
The Hallmarks that have come to characterize a profession are based on a midevel
models: a guild, high level of education, public recognition, and a specialized body of
knowledge.
Emanating from the existential needs of society and the professions are established
and maintained by the mutual interactions of society and professions, both
collectively and individually. Therefore, professionalethics can be seen as the explicit
understanding of the relationship between the profession and society. The making of

Tone of Truth
Tone of Truth The poem, Truth, by Gwendolyn Brooks, was written in 1949,
during a continuing era of black oppression in America. Brooks was born June 7,
1917 in Topeka, Kansas but her family moved to Chicago shortly after her birth,
according to her biographer, Georg Kent (2). The Poetry Foundation biography of
Gwendolyn Brooks says her father was a janitor who had dreamt of becoming a
doctor and her mother was a schoolteacher and classically trained pianist (Halley).
Both of her parents had dreamt about living the American Dream and both suffered
hard times and disappointment instead. Brooks parents were very supportive of her
passion for reading and writing and first sensed her talent at age seven, when she

In an autobiography, Brooks wrote a passage that the Poetry Foundation quoted from
stating, I know that the Black emphasis must be not against white but for Black...
(Halley). Brooks feels strongly that blacks should take more pride in themselves and
their heritage and take positive actions to make things better for themselves.
Brooks views show through the tone or voice of the speaker in her poem Truth .
Poets use tone to convey to the readers much more than what is plainly written on
the page. Kirszner explains in Portable Literature: Reading Writing Reacting, The
tone of a poem conveys the speaker s attitude toward his or her subject or audience,
(436). The tone or attitude of the speaker is earnest about how human it is to want
to run and hide from that which we fear. The speaker says, Shall we not flee / Into
the shelter / Of the familiar, (15 17). In this case people fear the truth because it is
unfamiliar. It has been observed by many reviewers that Brooks work has remained
objective about human nature (Halley). The speaker also has a reflective attitude
asking thoughtful questions such as, How shall we greet him? / Shall we not dread
him / Shall we not fear him, (2 4), to invoke thought in the reader about what their
actions might be if they were face to face with a devastating truth. The speaker is
suggestive but rather than confronting or scolding the reader by telling them

increasingly taking advantage of. They are looking overseas to outsource for cheap
foreign labour and new markets. Developing countries openly welcome MNCs to
their countries with expectations of employment and economic growth. They try to
persuade the MNCs by offering incentives such as tax breaks, government subsidies
and lax regulations. MNCs also negatively impact countries, especially those with a
weak economy and fragmented society rather than those with a balanced economy
and stable government. Out of the one hundred largest economies in the world, fifty
one of them are composed of corporations and the rest, countries. Our world today
has evolved into this state, where certain corporations influence and economic power
is stronger than whole countries. Some MNCs due to their sheer size, significantly
impact countries economies because it makes up a large part of their economic
activity. So as a result, some governments try to appease MNCs as much as possible,
so that they won t threaten to withdraw from the market. The governments of
developing countries act more in the interests of MNCs instead of acting on the
behalf of the people in the country. Governments would even relax their
environmental regulations and build roads at the expense of citizens taxes for the

Truman Show Satire
The impact of media over society has substantially increased throughout the past
decades and reached a point where humans delude themselves and believe the
reality which they are presented. In the Truman Show, directed by Peter Weir, Jim
Carrey plays Truman Burbank who is adopted by Hollywood at a young age and
unknowingly lives his life in a TV show. Weir purposely omits invective language
and insults towards media in order to allow the people to see their own vices and
stupidity. Weir allows viewers to laugh at the mesmerized public, making this satire
horation. Through his use of irony, verisimilitude, and caricature, Weir attacks the
influence of media over society and the public s unconditional surrender to it. Irony

As Truman waits for his plane ticket out of Seahaven, there is a sign in the
background which states: It could happen to you . Although it explicitly provides an
image of an airplane, the message implies that any individual can be the source of
entertainment for another(reality TV). The idea of privacy is just that: an idea. Then,
Christoph reveals the major argument of the story as he is interviewed: We [humans]
accept the reality of the world which we are presented (Christoph). Christoph, or the
scriptwriter, attacks human perception of events. Humans do not question the verity
of what is presented, and accept the reality they are given. Once again, Weir attacks
the unconditional influence media has over the people and comments on the illusion
of privacy. Lastly, Weir produces a caricature through the characterization of Truman.
From the start, it can be seen that almost everything that occurs in Truman s is routine
starting with his Goodmorning! (Truman). Although Truman is living his normal
life, all his actions go through a cycle which demonstrate not only the mundane
nature of his life, but that of media as well. Knowing that the show has been on air
for 10,913 days, it is quite clear that the public is infatuated with Truman s life. Since
the people are so captivated by this routine show, Weir once again attacks the

Title: Tetrahymena Mating
Tetrahymena are often found in fresh water ponds, lakes, and streams. The cells are
quite large and their complexity rivals that of a human cell. This makes them a good
alternative to things like human tissues. The cells do not cost much to grow and
require little resources to culture effectively (Ciliate Genomics, nd). They are ciliate
protozoa. Like humans, they mate, but for different reasons. They do not mate to
reproduce, they mate to survive. There are seven different sexes and they numbered
one through seven. This high number of sexes opens up many doors in the world of
mating, therefore Tetrahymena are not as limited as other creatures on Earth. For
example, Humans only have two sexes which limit us drastically in the world of
mating (Zoologger, 2015). In order for Tetrahymena to mate the cells must be starved
of nutrients, mature, and must be a different sex. The same two sexes cannot mate
(Ciliate Genomics, nd).
Tetrahymena have two nuclei. The germline nucleus and the somatic nucleus. The
germline nucleus is also known as the micro nucleus, which controls the complicated
sex life. The macronucleus, or somatic nucleus, deals with the everyday functions of
the cell (Zoologger, 2015). The Gender of the offspring cells is determined during the
mating. Fertilization results in a new micro and macro
Salary Inequality and Performance in Mlb
Salary Inequality and Performance in MLB Introduction/Overview: This paper will
explore the effect of team chemistry on performance in Major League Baseball
(MLB). In the 2000s, the Yankees were a team of great individual talent, however,
their lack of team unity was noticeable. In the playoffs, when heart, guts, and team
chemistry matter greatly, the Yankees fell short and were easily eliminated each year.
It wasn t until 2009, when the Yankees acquired jokester Nick Swisher, prankster AJ
Burnett, and fun loving C.C. Sabathia that the chemistry of the team improved
drastically. Shaving cream pies to the faces of players who got the game winning hit,
and various other team pranks became the norm in the once tense Yankee clubhouse.

Lazear and Rosen s (1981) paper on tournament theory argues that if wages are

Casino Game Roulette
Roulette
Roulette is a casino game where The House or also known as the Dealer, rolls
marbles around a spinning circle that is slanted known as a roulette wheel. The
wheel consists of 38 slots. The marble rolls and will then eventually land on one of
38 red or black slots, numbered from 0 to 36 with there being two zeros. The idea of
the game is to guess where it s going to land. The lower the chance of you guessing
right, the higher the possible payout can be. Everyone places their bets on where
they think the marble could possibly land. The dealer then closes the table to betting
and the marble is rolled.
There area couple possibilities for winning. You can guess the exact number the
marble will land on, you can split the bet to use select multiple possibilities of
winning the round. which one of the three thirds it will land on, the bottom or the
top portion of the the wheel, a black, or red number, and last the number could be

The probability that the marble will land on a black number between 19 and 36 is
Вј. The payout of each of those is 2 to 1 because there is a ВЅ chance that you guess
right.
If you guess a single number, the probability of guessing right is 1/38, so the payout
is 38 to 1. The choices that have a ВЅ chance of winning are low risk but also the
lowest reward. Betting on a singular number can either lose you your money or you
can leave with 38 times as much money. 1 in 38 is a 2% chance, so it would be very
unlikely you guess right.
Probability is everywhere. Probability is just about everything in the world. It s in
the games that we played with our families as kids, and it in the games that we
might play when we are older. Probability is something that is very important to how
we make our decisions and ultimately make or break

It is a fact that nowadays the media industry has contributed incredibly to promote
the ideas of today s society. Even more has contributed to the effort to eliminate the
taboo most of them sexual orientation issues or homophobic issues through various
campaigns. A very common combination for projecting an issue through the media
and with great appeal in the audience is the promotion and topic view from famous
celebrities that they have huge resonance to young people. It is also well known that
the projection of a subject in a provocative way has more impact because everything
that causes shock to the audience discussed more, and therefore the impact will be
greater. The question is whether it is exploitable the content of the topic that is
pretending that is promoted and defend, as many celebrities do periodically like the
following celebrity which will be discussed below. How many times we see celebrity
figures of biz show to promote or participate in a campaign, which is delivered with
nude photo shoots that advocate homosexuality issues? Are we sure that the fact that
they want to pass to the audience will not be presented incorrectly? The following
issue that is going to be analyzed is a recent photo shoot of the famous singer and

Richard Branson Losing My Virginity

Branson 1) One of the first and most important points that Branson touched on was
that, you want to create something that you are proud of. By this, he means that you
should have a genuine passion for the business you are starting. Without this passion,
you might not have 100% belief in your company or product and as a result, not
procure your greatest efforts into the success of your business. Additionally, Branson
goes on to claim that he has never gone into any business purely to make money. For
most of the publication of Student, Branson and his friends were working totally for

5) Giving back was something Richard Branson believed in and I agree also that all
successful entrepreneurs should participate in making the economy or world a
better place. Branson agreed to be the chairman of the UK 2000 project, which was
supposed to create jobs benefitting the environment for the 4 million unemployed.
Unfortunately, the media mocked this project, dubbing Branson as the Litter
King, and it was not as successful as it was anticipated to be. In 1990, during the
onset of war Branson used his aviation and networking resources to contact
Saddam Hussein, through the King of Kuwait, and fly into Baghdad to rescue
prisoners. This was an incredible act of humanity that, consequently, positively
promoted Virgin and its new airline. 6) Expansion will create room for more
growth and wealth. Branson is always looking for new ways to expand or adapt his
companies in order to keep them growing in the ever changing market (Page 433).
Reinvesting the money you earn back into your company might be riskier than
saving that money, but will ultimately allow for more potential growth and
prosperity. And if one business falters you will have others to lean on. I thoroughly
enjoyed reading this book from cover to cover. Branson had started becoming an

Steel frame:
Steel frame structures are made as the name suggest from steel, the material is strong
and flexible. When weight is added it bends without cracking. Another characteristic
of steel is that its plasticity or ductility, meaning that when force is added it won t
crack however it will lose shape therefore giving warning for people to evacuate the
building. A disadvantage of steel is that is loses strength when subject to fire. Studies
have shown that it can loose up to half its strength when subject to fire, therefore
making it imperative to cover the steel with boards or spray on.
Steel construction is used in
High rise building because of its strength, light weight and the speed in which it can
be constructed.
Industrial buildings and warehouse buildings because of the ability to create large
span spaces at a low cost
Temporary structure as its quick to set up and remove.
Steel fabrication: this is when steel is cut to the desire length generally on site and
then weld them together to create the final building. This is generally labor intensive
however it can reduce time.
Bolted steel construction: this is when the main bulk of the construction is pre made
at the workshop then bolted into place on site. This tends to be the preferred methods
as it saves time and money as well having the right working conditions.

the British delegation at the Paris Peace Conference in 1919. Soon after, Keynes
resigned from his position and wrote The Economic Consequences of the Peace. A
very influential work detailing the major pitfalls of the Treaty of Versailles. Keynes
discusses the economic consequences of the Treaty of Versailleson all of Europe. He
claims not to question the justifications of the treaty but rather to bring to light how
Its aims will cement the economic downfall Europe. He asserts that the treaty s
provisions were constructed through a veil of contempt and aimed to ensure the
future enfeeblement of a strong and dangerous enemy as well as to exact revenge, and

He asserts that France was spiteful of Germanys superior economy before the war,
however, France feared that under the fourteen points Germany would surely recover
quickly, surpass France, and use those resources to war with France once again.
France s aim then, was to wreck Germanys resources and claim as many of them
for France as possible. Therefore, the purpose of the treaty was to obliterate
Germanys power, physically, and economically and build up the French economy.
Keynes then lays out the provisions specifically designed to cripple Germanys
economy and line France s pockets at the expense of not only the German people, but
Europe as a whole. According to Keynes, Germanys successful economic operations
were reliant on overseas commerce, Coal and Iron, and transportations and tariffs, all
economic systems that the treaty specifically attacked.
For example, he discusses the provision requiring Germany to cede all her rights
and titles over her oversea possessions as well as any positions or assets located in
former German areas ceded to the Allies. Keynes specifically points out that this
includes railways, private property s, and companies, however, not any debt that
these properties or companies may have accrued. These provisions not only would
result in a considerable loss of revenue and overseas relations, but also considerable
economic enterprise. In addition, to this severe loss of property and assets,

were faithful to each other and lived a happy life (Par 4). Another example of her
desire for love and youth, was the ending of the tale. While the woman did gain
sovereignty, she also gained youth. This alludes to her desire to be young and in love

The world s greatest problems do not result from people being unable to read and
write. They result from people in the world from different cultures, races, religions,
and nations being unable to get along and to work together to solve the world s
problems. These statements by James A. Banks have made a profound impact on my
view towards multicultural educationand the nation s current trend of standardization
and high stakes testing. Scholarly research shows that the emphasis placed on testing
and standards, mandated by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, is causing
teachers to focus entirely on basic skills in reading, writing, and math (Banks Banks,
2010). This focus on basic skills is taking much needed time and attention away...

Thus, when AYP is based on academic achievement levels, the subgroup rules create
negative unintended consequences for the students they were designed to help, by
disproportionately subjecting racially diverse schools to sanctions under NCLB. This
consequence also threatens to increase the growing dropout and push out rates for
students in these sub groups (Darling Hammond, 2007).
This paradox is not just affecting low income and minority students, but also students
in non minority groups as well. When there is no time for focus on skills that students
need to participate in social change, these students will not learn to question practices
within society or to work with other students from all different groups and
backgrounds in order to effect change. Classes in schools which may contribute to
multicultural education, such as social studies and foreign language, are being cut
completely in order to spend more time on reading and math (Au, 2009). According to
Au (2009), since multi cultural anti racist perspectives and content are not deemed
legitimate by the high stakes tests and classroom standards, the end result is that
multicultural, anti racist content and perspectives and not being included in the

are the dominant group in society, and works against the goals of multicultural

Main Point Three: : Medical and Exercise Needs:
Your dog would be needing a veterinarian just as you have a Doctor. You wouldn t
want to toy with your dog s health. The first task after adopting a dog is vaccinating
it. So basically, the money for its vaccination, for engaging the services of a vet and
also it s grooming needs, should be kept aside. Make sure you can tend to it s
exercise needs.
Transition: This is important because you need be equipped on all fronts to own a
dog, the reason it is necessary to take note of the additional points I m about to add.
These are general lists that you may want to add on your own or change somewhat.
For instance, you may want to check for fleas every day, especially in summer, or
give your dog a bath as frequent as possible, if he likes to get dirty. If you want your
dog to understand signs, teach it. Consider also, a pet insurance and check out what it
entails. Toxics and untouchables have to be kept from the reach of your newest
relative to protect it from
Extra Classes
Extra classes a waste of time and resources
SOME schools extend schooling time to hold extra classes. The schools think that
this will guarantee straight A s students. I do not think so.
After school hours are for students to play games, join some social events or other
beneficial activities.
And the school holiday is a very crucial time for students because they can rest and
indulge in their favourite pastimes like reading, playing outdoor games, travelling,
etc, which they would not otherwise have the time for.
All these activities are beneficial to them as they are in their growing years.

He said tuition should be a measure of last resort when the student is truly struggling
with schoolwork.
It is crucial that they learn to read and count by Year Three.
But apart from that, parents should just let children be children.
Nevertheless, the Education Ministry believes that there is little to stop parents from
sending their children to tuition outside school hours.
Ultimately, it is the parents choice.
I m not saying it is healthy, but parents just want the best for their children.
If they believe tuition is the way to go, then there is nothing to stop them, deputy
education minister Dr Puad Zarkashi said.
Puad, however, remained sceptical on whether private tuition centres offered the best
education for children.
The best kind of tuition allows the child to study one on one with the teacher.
But most centres usually have several students to one teacher. Some centres even
crowd up to 40 students in one class. So, I don t believe they make much of a
difference.

The Midnight Riders
The story of the midnight ride is one of controversy, many wonder who was the one
to actually deliver the message, and which is the most important. All those who
journeyed on the midnight ride were equally important because its story lives in
infamy. Charles J. Caes, the author of the article Midnight Riders, argues that Samuel
Prescottis the most important and underrated midnight rider. Caes also argues that
Prescott should receive more credit than the others who joined him on the ride. In
actuality, Prescott is not as brave and heroic as Caes makes him out to be. The
things that Samuel Prescott had accomplished before the midnight ride are not as
impressive as Caes makes them out to be. Also, The fact that Samuel was the one to
complete the mission is not as important as the bravery it takes to even go on the
mission. Those that choose their fate are more heroic than those who stumble upon it.
Samuel C. Prescott possesses the same amount of courage as any ordinary man
can. Caes chose to describe Samuel Prescott s retreat from the British as heroic. He
used words to create a valiant image, such as, swashbuckling and daredevil like, in
order to pursue his audience (Caes 42). When Charles J. Caes story is stripped of its
frills and opinions, this event is of Prescott fleeing from the British scared like a
gnat in a spider web. Samuel Prescott did not ride, a steed that that flies fearless and
fleeting, as Paul Revere did (Longfellow 76). This quote is more reliable it
Arguments Against Euthanasia Research
It is reported that 10,000 citizens of the Netherlands carry a Do Not Euthanize Me
card on them at all times in case they are in an accident and unconscious or are taken
to a hospital unexpectedly (Wpadmin). This shows that many people show aversion
towards euthanasia and would not want themselves to be euthanized. Euthanasia
occurs when someone is suffering from a painful or incurable disease and they
prefer to die. It is done by taking them off of life support or not giving them
essential supplies to live such as food, medications, oxygen, and more. There are
countless debates of whether or not euthanasia should be legal, and whether or not it
benefits people. Some countries allow it, while in others it is considered a punishable

Hitler allowed people to euthanize themselves during World War 2. In 2013, 53% of
Americans were against euthanasia (Euthanasia. Research in Context). Later, they
started to see the benefits of it and some places began to legalize voluntary
euthanasia. From early times to today, an extensive debate has taken place on the
topic of euthanasia, and whether it should be legal.
Euthanasia causes the patient s families to suffer from depression and sadness.
Depression is caused when people are gloomy and cry/worry frequently. People
who suffer from depression are worried and find it hard to be joyful. When
someone s loved one commits euthanasia, then their family will be sad that they
weren t able to see him for his last days left of his life and that he died. This could
cause them to suffer from depression. Also, the patient may have made a wrong
decision. It is proved that, The great majority of patients who desire death during a
terminal illness are suffering from a treatable mental illness, most commonly a
depressive condition (The Impact of Euthanasia). The choice of euthanasia can be a
mistake as stated in the quote, the majority of people who want to be euthanized have
a mental illness which causes them to make a bad decision. The patient maybe
suffering from a depressive condition and when someone has depression they mainly
just want life to end. They don t want to enjoy it so this would cause them to want to
be euthanized. Euthanasia should not be
Essay Grave s Disease
The disease was first noted in 1786 by Caleb Hillier Parry 1755 1822, physician
from General Hospital, Bath, England. His account was published posthumously in
1825.
However Graves disease is named after the Irish physician who described several
cases in London Medical Journal in 1835. Graves disease is also known as Parry s
disease. In Europe, the disease is known as Basedow s disease. It is the most
common cause of thyrotoxicosis (the morbid condition due to over activity of the
thyroid gland).
The disorder has three major manifestations:
Hyperthyroidism with diffuse goiter
Ophthalmopathy
and Dermopathy
The three manifestations need not appear together. Indeed one or two never appear,
and moreover, the three may run ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the evidence that Graves disease is autoimmune in origin is quite
convincing.
Hyperthyroidism and goiter are immunologically mediated. It results from the
production of auto antibodies directed against the TSH ( thyroid stimulating
hormone) receptors on the thyroid follicular cells or closely related cell membrane
domains.
Auto antibodies are of two types:
TSI ( thyroid stimulating immunoglobulins) or TSH receptor antibodies ( TRAb)
which mimic the action of TSH and thereby inducing the hypersecretion of thyroid
hormones.
TGI ( thyroid growth stimulating immunoglobulins) which initiates the growth of
thyroid cells.
The question is what initiates these autoimmune reactions? The answer is not clear
but genetic, immune and environmental considerations are important.
In genetically predisposed individuals, infection with viruses or bacteria may serve
as a trigger. Certain strains of E. coli and Yersinia enterocolitica possess cell
membrane TSH receptors. The production of antibodies to these pathogens might
cross react with host TSH receptors on thyroid follicular cells to result in
hyperthyroidism.
Emotional stress is often dismissed as etiologically important. However, more than
once have we seen a temporal relationship between the onset of hyperthyroidism and
a major life event such as the death of a

The Death Penalty Throughout History
This paper explores how society has influenced the development of the death penalty
throughout history. It begins with a brief explanation of the origins of capital
punishment, referencing the first known documentation of actions punishable by
death. The paper goes on to explore different methods of execution and how they
have progressed and changed over the years. Documented cases at different points of
history are referenced to show the relationship of time periods and beliefs to the
implementation of capital punishment. Finally, the development of different laws and
changes to existing laws pertaining to the death penalty are addressed. The History of
the Death Penalty
The death penalty has changed drastically throughout history. Some of the first
known written laws regarding the death penalty date back to the eighteenth century
BCE ( Part I , 2016). It is likely that some form of the death penalty existed long
before written history, with a basis in customs, not legalities. The death penalty has
continued to evolve throughout history, shaping the modern practices used in the
United States and other parts of the world today. The administration of the death
penalty has been shaped by the moral principles of those in authority and the mindset
of the general public at each stage of history. This is shown through the evolution of
different methods of execution, documented cases during critical points in history,
and the laws pertaining to the death penalty at different
Lucille Clifton After Oz Analysis
Throughout her life, Lucille Clifton was oppressed by the society around her.
Growing up during a time where African Americans were not fully accepted or
supported, Lucille Clifton had first hand experience of what it felt like to be held
back from exploring your interest. Her poem after oz tells the story of Dorothy,
from the The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, and how she was held from exploring the
land around her. The story is told through the eyes of adults who are trying to keep
her close, presumably a parents. As the parents slip into her room at midnight, they
show that the actions they are commiting are unknown to Dorothy (Clifton 1). By
filling her pockets with stones, the parents are trying to keep Dorothy safe from
the storms (Clifton 2, 4). The storm itself does not resemble those due to weather,
but instead those caused by the unpredictable actions of children. The parents
believe that by weighing her down they are doing her a favor; keeping her safe
from a society that they are certain will affect her negatively. However, Dorothy will
not let the stones stop her. She believes deeply in her mission, and because of that is
able to escape from the imprisonment of her home. As she disappears for hours the
parents display concern and disappointment, believing that they have lost her ... Show

She no longer feels supported or accepted by them, as they slow her down in every
part of her life. They can not come to the understanding that Dorothy is changing,
and by holding her back from change they only make matters worse. Her staggering
return indicates that she is exhausted and weary from her daily travels. Though the
poem itself does not describe where Dorothy travels to on her escapade, it can only
be assumed that she is happier there as she staggers back smelling of straw / of
animals (Clifton 6,
Living Here Was Nothing Special
I live in a small town called Ocean City, New Jersey. To me, living here was nothing
special. Ironically, anytime I say that is where I m from I hear, Wait, you live in
Ocean City?! That is my favorite place in the world. We go there every summer!
How can a place be a bother to someone and an amazing get away to another? I went
to Ocean City High School, where I could walk five feet to the beach. Who could
hate that? I sure could. I begged my parents to let me transfer my first two years. I
went to a Catholic school from kindergarten through 8th grade while everyone else
at my school attended the public middle schools in the area, which meant that
everyone was already friends and I had to make new ones. This was my first time
ever in public schooling, and I felt like a lost fish in the sea. Obviously things got
better and I ended up making some of the best friendships that I know will last a
lifetime, but I still can t deny that I thought I could say June 18th, 2015, graduation,
was going to be the best day of my life. Then things changed. This summer I worked
on the beach and was never done later than 12:00, so I went every single day after I
clocked out. To say I gained an appreciation for where I live would be an
understatement. There is nothing more relaxing than hearing the crashes of the big
blue waves slowly putting me to sleep as I lay in the warm sun. I was slowly
beginning to realize why everyone loves this place so much. Excitement for heading

Ming Dynasty Soldiers
Consisting of 112 men the Ming Dynasty was the Chinese military. The soldiers of
Ming Dynasty were chosen at birth and it was an inherited job. The motivation for
the soldiers was survival.
The soldiers of Ming Dynasty had very little to no protection. Some archers would
ride on horses or lancers. Lancers were soldiers of cavalry regiment armed with
lances and a lance was a long weapon for thrusting, having a wooden shaft and a
pointed a steel head, formerly used by horseman in charging. The archers would
have shields to protect them while riding the horses. That tactic had only worked for
a certain amount of time before enemies started to get better strategies. Sabers
would be carried by cavalry but were never used. Horse archers as
Essay about The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
The Nazi party affected many people around the world through both the Holocaust
and World War II. Hitler had a plan to exterminate all the Jews, and propelled this
idea through the Holocaust putting Jews in concentration camps and killing them.
Hitler s evil plan caused one of the world s biggest tragedies, World War II.

br Adolf Hitler, who was the leader of the Nazis, was born in Austria just across the

about Native Americans and how they were slaughtered along with reading about
battles between the Germans and Russians. This would make him familiar to racism

br By the summer of 1923, the Nazi party had grown to 150,000 members. Hitler
knew this was the right time to take over the government. On November 11,1923,
Hitler and his 3,000 men marched to Berlin in an attempt to take it over. The
German police were waiting. This was also part of the Beer hall Putsch. Shooting
broke out between the two parties. Sixteen Nazis and three policemen laid dead
from this massacre. Hitler was sentenced for high treason for 5 years. While he was
in prison he wrote Mein Kamp a book that stated his beliefs, and his plan for
Germany in the future. He also talked about the superiority of Germans, the concept
of the pure Aryan. He blamed the Jews for the evils of the world and accused them of
corrupting everything of ethical and national value.
br
br Hitler was freed about nine months after his trial. He left prison to find out that
the Nazi party had been outlawed. Unemployment was widespread, food was scarce
and inflation was bad.
br
br Hitler, however, found a way to please the people of Germany, and after the
rebuilding of his Nazi dynasty he was back in the race for the dictatorship of
Germany. Hitler despised and overthrew all the other political parties, and the Nazis
became the strongest political party. At midday on January 30, 1933, Hitler was
sworn in as Chancellor. By nightfall the streets
Descriptive Essay On Pitbulls

Our old red van squealed as it halted to a stop. One Pitbull, no two Pitbull s were in
a big bay window of our new dogs old home, barking at our arrival. They welcomed
us into their home with open arms as if we were royalty. Once inside their house,
my mouth went upside down like a rainbow and my nose scrunched up in disgust.
My eyes narrowed to find the horrid smell, as they adjusted to the dirty and dark
room they searched for the source when they saw some glass terrariums. My brain
must have told my feet to move towards them because as soon as i saw them i was
right next to it the tanks. i put my finger on the glass tank where the log inside was

America s New Sense Of World Power
Abby Thompson
Period 5
HOTA Paper
After the years of the American Civil War, America embarked on a manifest destiny,
2.0. America decided they wanted to expand their territory across the waters. There
were many approaches that were suggested by previous presidents, all with the same
goal: World Dominance.
The Big Stick idea was brought to light from President Theodore Roosevelt. The plan
reflected many of the same impulses that were motivating domestic reforms that
were taking place in America. He wanted to expand that reform to Cuba. He
wanted to send a message that reflected to nations America s new sense of world
power. With this policy Presidents could exercise power unfettered and alone if he
was overseas in an american territory. Roosevelt believed that a civilized (industrial)
nation was to go in to uncivilized (non industrial) countries and have the right as
well as the duty to intervene in the affairs of a backward nation to preserve order
and stability, for the sake of both nations he said.
Venezuela, for example, had a deteriorating economy that began to renege on debts of
european bankers. In response, the Roosevelt Corollary (now the Monroe Doctrine),
was put into play. the Roosevelt Corollary claimed the united States had not only the
right to European intervention in the Western hemisphere but also to intervene itself
in the domestic affairs of its neighbors if those neighbors proved unable to maintain
order and national sovereignty on their own, such

Remember The Titans Film Techniques Essay
In the movie Remember the Titans by Boaz Yakin the scene I chose was the scene of
the final game. This is important because there is a lot of emotion and courage shown
in this scene. The three aspects I analysed were lighting, tracking and sound I think
that s these three technique were use very welly to show intensity, emotion and
courage.
Lighting was use to show the audience important people. This is shown when Gary
s mum walked in to the stadium the spot light was on here and everyone started to
clap. This was to show emotion and unity everyone black or white was supporting
her. This is a breathe taking scene because there has just been the end of apatite and
the black and white people are starting to believe in the something and support each
other.
Tracking was also used very well in the film. An example of this is when the Titan s
team start dancing out on to the field the camera tracks them out. This scene shows
the team and that black and white does not matter, they are all one big family in
sync and they are ready to play. This also shows that they are all fired up and they
are focused on the game. I think this camera technique was used so that the director
can show the audience that the age of apatite has gone everyone no ... Show more

The first one I felt was shown very well was when the Titans where dancing out on
to the field and the music was building up, the director used this to show that the
team was ready for a fight and that they were here to play. Another sound effect that
was used very well in this scene was when the mother of Gary the captain that is in
hospital came into the stadium everyone started to stand up black or white and start
clapping this showed the audience that everyone was a team and family and that they
all wanted the same thing. Also the cheering from the crowd was used to build up the
intensity of the game and how important it was for the Titans to

Market Structure
This first subject will be covering the different structures of the market and how they

Additionally, there are a couple examples of monopolies that are allowed to service
certain segments of the public. These include, but are not limited to, most utilities
that are provided to the public as a regulated cost and pharmaceuticals that are patient
bound (Investopedia, 2016). The introduction of a product gives an advantage to the
pharmaceutical companies, but it also drives new and innovative research for new
medications on the market. The other example would be the utilities, which there
would be more chaos than competition, creating a need for the monopoly.
Next is the oligopoly strategy in a free market economy. With this type of strategy,
there are only a few providers of a good or service (Online Economics, 2016). This
also includes those that provide to both businesses and the general public at which
there are still some smaller companies that will operate as well. There are a few
examples of this type of strategy that are allowed in the free markets to include:
airlines, oil/gas, banks, supermarkets, and car dealers just to name a few that most
people in the United States use. There is little that can be done when these are more
resource based commodities and there cannot realistically be more than just a few
players in these industries. They use marketing tactics to sway a small amount of
people from another company in the same industry. A good example of this would be

Descriptive Essay Person.pdf

  • 1. Descriptive Essay Person Crafting a descriptive essay about oneself may seem like a straightforward task, as one might think that no one knows oneself better than the person in question. However, the challenge lies in striking a balance between self-reflection and objective description. It can be challenging to present oneself in a way that is engaging and insightful without sounding overly boastful or self- deprecating. The difficulty stems from the need to choose specific traits, experiences, or anecdotes that truly capture the essence of one's personality. Too much detail can make the essay tedious, while too little can leave it lacking depth. The writer must navigate the fine line between self-awareness and self-promotion, providing a genuine glimpse into their character without crossing into the realm of exaggeration. Moreover, tackling the emotional and personal aspects of one's life requires a delicate touch. It demands introspection and a willingness to delve into the vulnerabilities that make each individual unique. This process can be emotionally taxing, as one must confront both strengths and weaknesses, successes and failures, in a way that resonates with the reader. On a technical level, finding the right words to convey the nuances of personality and experiences can be a daunting task. The challenge lies in avoiding clichГ©s and creating a narrative that is both vivid and authentic. Striking the right tone is crucial, ensuring that the essay is neither too formal nor too casual, but instead strikes a balance that captivates the reader's attention. In conclusion, writing a descriptive essay about oneself is a challenging endeavor that requires a delicate balance between self-disclosure and thoughtful reflection. It necessitates a careful selection of details and a mastery of language to create a compelling narrative. Despite the difficulties, the process can be a rewarding exercise in self-discovery and expression. • 2. The Time Of Industrialization And Urban Areas The time of industrialization brought the population from rural to suburban and urban areas. Many people have moved closer to cities for jobs. Others leave because there isn t much left in rural areas besides farming. Since then, people have continued to move out of the country sides and into urban areas leaving smaller towns with fewer people. The idea of small town America is becoming more obscure as people continue to leave. The small town in Chester County, Pennsylvania had a similar outcome in the 1970s. The picture appears to show a typical town in rural America. The small town s picture appears to have been taken on a dark and dreary day. The town appears almost empty with only the cemetery of the dead remaining. From the picture, it appears as though quite literally, rural life in America is dying with the many dead people in the cemetery. All the trees in the town have no leaves. They sit leafless and dead along the streets and in yards. The grass also appears browner and lifeless. This is all very symbolic in the idea that this town, and in general that small towns are dying out. This left rural towns secluded and out of reach to the busy outside world. People wanted to be a part of the new technological world, which often left these small rural towns in the dust. Leaving the rural areas created more urban sprawl, which led to many issues. Once people began living closer to and in cities, it began to create problems. These problems would create the idea of urban
  • 3. Wollstonecraft And Rousseau Both Jean Jacques Rousseau and Mary Wollstonecraft agree that in society women and men are not equals. Rousseau s idea that socialization brings inequality in his Discourse On the Origin of Inequality is manipulated by Wollstonecraft in her A Vindication of the Rights of Women. She uses his arguments to prove that the inequality between men and women is not natural, but it comes from Rousseau s idea of socialized inequality. The inequality experienced by women is a product of society, which Wollstonecraft tries to prove by uses Rousseau s arguments about language and dependency. Wollstonecraft seems to agree with Rousseau when she says, that the female in point of strength is, in general, inferior to the male (Wollstonecraft, 8). She does not say that all women are inferior in strength to men, nor does she conclude from this that women, being physically inferior, should be dependent on men. Yet, she twists the argument when she says, in order to preserve their innocence, as ignorance is courteously termed, truth is hidden from them, and they are made to assume an artificial character before their faculties have acquired any strength (44). This is near contradiction to her previous admission of women s natural physical inferiority. Her use of the word faculties is ambiguous as to whether she means physical or mental faculties, so perhaps, she is arguing that physical inequality could be part of the oppression of women, instead of it all belonging to nature s fault.

  • 5. A Comparison Of The Yellow Wallpaper And The Yellow Wallpaper One similarity between the two works is the that we are limited on where we get our information. Gilman s short story The Yellow Wallpaper, we see everything through the eyes of the narrator. The entire story is told from her secret diary when she has the time to write as shown in the line, I did write for a while in spite of them; but it does exhaust me a good deal having to be so sly about it (Gilman 527). Due to this, we can only make assumptions based on the information we get from her. She tells us she is in A colonial mansion, a hereditary estate (Gilman 526) and that she stays in a big, airy room...It was a nursery first and then a playroom and gymnasium (Gilman 527). However, once we reach the end of the story, with the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However there appears to be an element of truth to her fantasies. In the end the narration returns to an outside perspective where Dr. Gorski reveals In just one week here, she stabbed an orderly, started a fire and helped another patient to escape (Snyder). These coincide with actions taken while within her fantasies which leads us to ask what was really going on. In both Gilman s story and Snyder s film we are forced to reevaluate what we have been told and lead to believe and discern for ourselves what was truly fact and what may have only been delusions of someone s mind. The vivid descriptions in The Yellow Wallpaperhelp to bring the reader along in the narrators decent into a kind of psychosis. It starts mildly, with her describing the color of wallpaper as repellant, almost revolting; a smoldering unclean yellow (Gilman 528). As more time passes she begins to see more things in the paper such as a recurrent spot where the pattern lolls like a broken neck and two bulbous eyes start at you, and for it have so much expression in an inanimate thing (Gilman 592). As the pattern and descriptions get more twisted, we get visual clues of the madness that is slowly consuming the narrator. The color of the paper even begins to become a physical thing she can smell descried as, creep[ing] all over the house...sulking...hiding...lying in wait for me...It gets into my hair (Gilman 534). In the end we get a graphic visual representation of her full psychosis
  • 6. Why I Want To Attend Carnegie Mellon University Carnegie Mellon University is unquestionably my ideal choice. Growing up in the fairly populated suburbs in Chester County, Pennsylvania, I liked to meet new people; I always liked to talk with someone that had different backgrounds or beliefs. Not only because I enjoyed encountering the unusual, but because I could see how similar all people are. Coming from a Buddhist background where I learned that people truly are equal not only in natural rights but in aspirations in success and entertainment. I believe that Carnegie Mellon University is the perfect opportunity to meet unique people. By attending this grand college, I would have the ability to find new hobbies, people, and interests. I could expand my entire world. In addition to discovering new hobbies and meeting different people, the opportunities at the Carnegie Mellon University in the field of computer science are nearly limitless. Moreover, I always preferred the city life; having the urban lifestyle with everything within walking distance seems like a dream in comparison to my suburban area. Due to the varying student body, excellent education, and city presence, Carnegie Mellon University is a perfect fit for
  • 7. The Federalism Of The United States Americans utilize the Federalism idea as putting into effect the Constitution for Federal, State, and Local governments. These areas are served as different areas with different needs and goals within the federalist theory. The National Government has expressed powers over the nation and subjects that effect our nation. The State has limited powers that are involved within the State s boundaries. The local government is expressed to help regulate the states. All together the governments make one unitary system that can metaphorically be described as a cake. The breakup of federalismstarted out being broken up in layers, like a layer cake, with distinct separated powers of National government and State. Accordingly, as the New Federalism... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The arguments resembled that the Federalist held the upper hand since they were wealthy landowners to take charge of the democracy. Conversely, Antifederalist were afraid to give into signing the constitution in favor of the Federalist ideas because they felt it would grant too much power to the National Government instead of the States. The dispute between the Federalist and Antifederalist lead to, what is known today, as a breakthrough of famous Federalist Papers that lead to the greater understanding of the Constitution. The Federalist Papers appeared as persuasive writings developed by what we know today as historical figures that make up the founding fathers of the ratification of the Constitution. The writings of the Federalist argued that they held the privilege to secure the government to favor the economy. The Federalist wrote to convince the public in the newspapers that their views and actions would create a perfect balance and protect the Nation s people. On the other hand, Anti Federalist opposed ratification of the Constitution in favor of the federalist ideas. The Antifederalist persuaded that the Federalist would favor slavery, and people s rights would be in danger. The two groups feuding created an important factor in the U.S. Constitution. Like so, the Federalist considered the Antifederalist ideas and managed to compromise a Bill of Rights to be added to the Constitution in favor of absolute security to people s rights
  • 8. Life Alterations In The Pigman By Paul Zindel Life Alterations Has a friend or family member recently had a life altering hardship which affected their lifestyle? In the Book The Pigman by Paul Zindel there were many examples of hardships that led to a changing of the character s feelings, attitude and lifestyle. Such changes are like chunks of snow on a paved, smooth road. They are bumps which alter one s view for moments, but when the bump is surpassed one can see clearly again and are back on the smoothly paved road. Throughout the story, many ice chunks were overcome. For example, Concetta died, Lorraine s dad cheated on her mom, and Lorraine and John threw a party. Ultimately, these events resulted in the changing of character traits. Hardships can make a big change in someone s lifestyle. Falling in love is an easy way to become heartbroken. If a loved one may leave, that change may alter your everyday life or mood. Likewise, Pigman experienced complications once his wife had died. As Lorraine wrote ВЁHe was just standing there looking down at me, and there was no smile on his face. No smile at all (Zindel 128). After the fact, Pigman ignored Lorraine and John which resulted in them having to spend time in their own homes, which was a big change for them. During the time which the three were not talking many changes arose. The party changed Pigman, Lorraine and JohnЕ› lives temporarily. Rather, few may say that the party was harmless and had only wrecked physical possessions, but that is inaccurate in that theirs and PigmanЕ› trust was
  • 9. Conspiracy Theory Pros And Cons The power of cons There is a conspiracy theory behind almost all major events and tragedies in the world. At first you might just brush off these theories and ideas thinking that they are nothing but a bunch of nonsense. Some conspiracies can easily be proven wrong but In the more popular and well known conspiracy theories such as the 9/11 attacks and the assassination of JFK there are very credible facts to back up the idea belief that is being portrayed. Weather you believe in conspiracy theories or not, there is some alarming evidence in some the concept that will make you think twice about what you presumed to be true about some events. On Friday November 22, 1963 in Dallas texas the 35th president of the United States John Fitzgerald Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald while travelling in a motorcade in Dealey Plaza, or that is what is said to have happened.(Miller, 2017) Some believe that there was a little more to the assassination then just the one shooter. This conspiracy is that there was more than just one shooter and that there was a larger group group behind the event other than just Oswald himself. There are quite a few events that occured that make this theory that much more believable. The two things that happened that stand out to me the most are the murder of Oswald just two days after JFK s death and the fact that after audio analysis the HSCA concluded that there was a fourth gun shot. Oswald was arrested soon after killing JFK but two days later when He was being transferred from city jail to county jail he was shot at close range and killed by Jack Ruby. (Victor, 2017)This lead some people tof believe that Oswald was part of a larger group or organization that had helped him plan the assassination and that Jack Ruby was sent to Oswald to make sure he would not expose the group. The second bit of evidence that is very compelling is in the audio recordings of the assassination. After analyzing the Audio recording of the assassination the HSCA conclude
  • 10. Colonial Literature Summary Colonial Literature began with the work of English adventurers and colonists in the New World benefit the readers in the country. Some of these early works reached the level of literature, as in the truthful account of his adventures by Captain John Smith and the journalistic histories of John Winthrop and William Bradford in New England. From the beginning, however, the literature of New England was also directed to the improvement and instruction of the colonists themselves, intended to direct them in the ways of the gods. The first literature work was published in the Puritan colonies, was the Bay Psalm Book, and the whole effort of the divines wrote furiously to set forth their view. Among them was Roger Williams and Thomas Hooker; who was to defend and promote visions of the religious state. They set forth their visions in effect the first express the concept of national destiny in a series of passion histories. Then as time went forward, you had the New Nation or New literature. And that was basically the approach of the American Revolution and the achievement of the actual independence of the United Stateswas a time of intellectual activity as well as social and the economic change. The men who were the chief molders of the new state included excellent writers, such as Thomas Jefferson and Alexander Hamilton. They were well supported by others such as Philip Freneau, who was the first American lyric poet of distinction and an able journalist; the pamphleteer Thomas

  • 12. Hamlet s Treatment Towards Gertrude Hamlet s treatment towards Gertrude (mother) is not unreasonable but the way Hamlet treats Ophelia is a little harsh in the beginning when she is completely innocent. Further along through the play Hamlet s treatment towards Ophelia can be considered reasonable since she basically decided to side with Claudius and Polonius. The way in which Hamlettreats Gertrudeand Ophelia doesn t seem to be a part of the misogyny in the culture. Hamlet does seem to possess a great hatred for women, especially the women in his close circle of peers. The hatred he has for women is strong and visible to readers. The way Hamlet treats Gertrude is completely just. Hamlet feels his mother has betrayed him because she married his father s murderer shortly after his father was killed. Hamlet expected his mother, the loving wife of his deceased father, to grieve and never marry again or at least not after two months but Gertrude did. Also, by Gertrude marrying a bad man such as Claudius has caused Hamlet to believe that Gertrude is a bad person and she is not to be trusted. Hamlet thinks that his mother may have been a part of his father s murder. Hamlet treats her just as he treats Claudius because Hamlet feels Gertrude is no better. Hamlet has the right to be angry and expresses it the way he seems fit and his mother deserves such treatment. Gertrude did move rather quickly after Hamlet s father passed and she didn t seem to be fazed by his father s death anymore. If the readers were in
  • 13. Personal Observation On High School Personal Observation of Problems on Brighton High School s Campus I am currently a Brighton High School Senior. Over the four years I have been at this school there have been things that I have longed to improve or change at my school. Some are just dreams that could never come into effect like, putting in stop lights and painted lines in the hallway similar to the road. Most of the time though they are realistic ideas that could drastically help impact the school campus. In my school campus I feel that the students are never aloud any time to enjoy their high school career, the school is never fully clean, and that all teachers do not strive to teach students to the best of their ability. Although, these are some things I would love to see change I am not the only one with these views. At Brighton High School the only importance is the end of the year test. Even though end of the year tests is very important there are other things that should hold some importance at the school. Also the school should give some rewards for all the hard work the students do, along with encouraging the students to try even harder. Sara said, I have always longed for the administration of Brighton High School to support the students and the cardinal spirit (Smith). This is just one person s opinion and there are many others that agree with her statement, for if administration cared deeply about the students the students would care deeply about their work. Olivia agrees with Sara and she says, I wish administration would give an incentive for students to try. I personally care about my grades, but many do not and if administration would have an incentive, for example, pep rallies every once in a while, then I feel many more students will care about their grades (Brunner). With these two students view it is clear that the students of Brighton High School feel that there should be more events held on campus. At Brighton High School the school is never fully clean, it may look clean but that is surly a deception. On campus the custodians always seem to be working, but the job never seems done. I don t know if it is the students, custodians, or the school as a whole is at fought, but either way it is always nasty. Lydia
  • 14. Compare And Contrast Mesopotamia And Indus Valley... In the duration of these two civilizations, the people of Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley innovated their world, and in turn, changed ours. Mesopotamia spanned from 5000 3500 B.C.E. between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, while the Indus Valley s main time period was 3300 1300 B.C.E, in what is now Pakistan and Northwest India. These civilizations left a mark on the world through the way they ran their cities, how they worshipped, and the legacy that came out of Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley. One of the chief characteristics of both Mesopotamia and the Indus River Valley were their political systems. At first in Mesopotamia, there were just individual cities, such as Sumer and Babylon. Eventually these turned into a mainly central government with two branches. The first was a counsel made up of religious authorities, and the second was the lugal. The lugal was the name for the monarch of Mesopotamia, basically like a king. Possibly the most famous lugal, Hammurabi was the lugal of Babylon. He is most easily known with the code of laws that he created, the code of Hammurabi. It was one of the first writings of its kind, detailing everything from trading procedures to punishments for every type of crime. Even with these two branches of government connecting all of the cities in Mesopotamia, they were mainly independent cities. Each city collected their own taxes, and had power enough to battle with each other. Mesopotamia was a patriarchal society, with most,

It infects their mind, controls their actions and consumes their thoughts with the singular obsession of being around their love. In the love stories, Tristan and Isolde and Lancelot and Guinevere, the characters face problems of the soul, and that bring about monumental repercussions to everyone around them. In both of these works, the characters experience loving someone out of reach. Their loveis taboo; it will never be accepted because of their circumstances. This causes a rift in their stream of normality and forces actions to be made. Love triangles emerge since the characters are trying to find a way to achieve their goals but still keep what they have. In both of the stories, Tristan and Isolde love each other similarly to Lancelot and Guinevere. All they can think about is each other. (insert quote). Lancelot went behind his king s back to be with Guinevere just like Tristan. Both of them knew that each of their kings was with the woman they love, but both realized that no matter what they did their relationship would be forever confined to the shackles of secrecy, darting glances of affection and sporadic moments of privacy. The relationship between the enamored men and their kings is different. Tristan was the stepson of the king, and it hurt him, even more, to see his beloved with his father. While on the other hand, Lancelot s situation was a little different.

The malicious Don John constructed, or rather misconstructed, the scheme that insinuated Claudio s belief in Hero s faithlessness. It is Don John who reports to Claudio and Don Pedro that Hero is having an affair, and he who stage manages an elaborate charade featuring his own henchman Borachio and an unwitting stand in for Hero to lend credence to this fiction. Perhaps the most significant thing to be noted in connection with this deception is that the spectator does not witness the crucial scene in which Claudio overhears the counterfeit exchanges between Margaret and Borachio that persuade him of Hero s guilt. We learn of this episode only at second hand, when Borachio boasts of his exploit (Lucking). The spectator of the play watches the Watchman watching Borachio while the latter narrates what he calls his tale relating how Claudio was inveigled into watching an artificial scene enacting Don John s fiction. To stay at leading position in such a highly competitive industry, the company had established its own dedicated direct sales force along with the attempt to increase customer service levels and improve customer response times by adding additional warehouses. In the calculation of average inventory levels, a desired service level of 99% and a review period of 14 days with a lead time of 5 days were used to calculate the safety stocks and order up to levels for each product under each circumstance. The cells are quite large and their complexity rivals that of a human cell. This makes them a good alternative to things like human tissues. The cells do not cost much to grow and require little resources to culture effectively (Ciliate Genomics, nd). They are ciliate protozoa. Like humans, they mate, but for different reasons. They do not mate to reproduce, they mate to survive. There are seven different sexes and they numbered one through seven. This high number of sexes opens up many doors in the world of mating, therefore Tetrahymena are not as limited as other creatures on Earth. For example, Humans only have two sexes which limit us drastically in the world of mating (Zoologger, 2015). In order for Tetrahymena to mate the cells must be starved of nutrients, mature, and must be a different sex. The same two sexes cannot mate (Ciliate Genomics, nd). Tetrahymena have two nuclei. The germline nucleus and the somatic nucleus. The germline nucleus is also known as the micro nucleus, which controls the complicated sex life. The macronucleus, or somatic nucleus, deals with the everyday functions of the cell (Zoologger, 2015). The Gender of the offspring cells is determined during the mating. Fertilization results in a new micro and macro

They result from people in the world from different cultures, races, religions, and nations being unable to get along and to work together to solve the world s problems. These statements by James A. Banks have made a profound impact on my view towards multicultural educationand the nation s current trend of standardization and high stakes testing. Scholarly research shows that the emphasis placed on testing and standards, mandated by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act, is causing teachers to focus entirely on basic skills in reading, writing, and math (Banks Banks, 2010). Thus, when AYP is based on academic achievement levels, the subgroup rules create negative unintended consequences for the students they were designed to help, by disproportionately subjecting racially diverse schools to sanctions under NCLB. This consequence also threatens to increase the growing dropout and push out rates for students in these sub groups (Darling Hammond, 2007). This paradox is not just affecting low income and minority students, but also students in non minority groups as well. When there is no time for focus on skills that students need to participate in social change, these students will not learn to question practices within society or to work with other students from all different groups and backgrounds in order to effect change. Classes in schools which may contribute to multicultural education, such as social studies and foreign language, are being cut completely in order to spend more time on reading and math (Au, 2009). According to Au (2009), since multi cultural anti racist perspectives and content are not deemed legitimate by the high stakes tests and classroom standards, the end result is that multicultural, anti racist content and perspectives and not being included in the instruction time or curriculum. This reinforces the notion for white students that they are the dominant group in society, and works against the goals of multicultural education. In his

She went before a panel of executives to share her thoughts for the next box office romcom, and was left both confused and surprised by their lack of interest, with a counter that they were looking into movies that were about boardgames. Kaling also plays to the common prejudice that females are meant to fit to male ideals. Roles like that of the Ethereal Weirdo actually perpetuate sexism and degrade the role of women in acting. She conveys this point through dry satirical elements, saying, She is essential to the male fantasy that even if a guy is boring he deserves a woman who will find him fascinating and perk up his dreary life by forcing him to go skinny dipping in a stranger s

Hyperthyroidism and goiter are immunologically mediated. It results from the production of auto antibodies directed against the TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone) receptors on the thyroid follicular cells or closely related cell membrane domains. Auto antibodies are of two types: TSI ( thyroid stimulating immunoglobulins) or TSH receptor antibodies ( TRAb) which mimic the action of TSH and thereby inducing the hypersecretion of thyroid hormones. TGI ( thyroid growth stimulating immunoglobulins) which initiates the growth of thyroid cells. The question is what initiates these autoimmune reactions? The answer is not clear but genetic, immune and environmental considerations are important. In genetically predisposed individuals, infection with viruses or bacteria may serve as a trigger. Certain strains of E. coli and Yersinia enterocolitica possess cell membrane TSH receptors. The production of antibodies to these pathogens might cross react with host TSH receptors on thyroid follicular cells to result in hyperthyroidism. Emotional stress is often dismissed as etiologically important. America decided they wanted to expand their territory across the waters. There were many approaches that were suggested by previous presidents, all with the same goal: World Dominance. The Big Stick idea was brought to light from President Theodore Roosevelt. The plan reflected many of the same impulses that were motivating domestic reforms that were taking place in America. He wanted to expand that reform to Cuba. He wanted to send a message that reflected to nations America s new sense of world power. With this policy Presidents could exercise power unfettered and alone if he was overseas in an american territory.
