This paper advances the Domain Segmentation based on Uncertainty in the Surrogate (DSUS) framework which is a novel approach to characterize the uncertainty in surrogates. The leave-one-out cross-validation technique is adopted in the DSUS framework to measure local errors of a surrogate. A method is proposed in this paper to evaluate the performance of the leave-out-out cross-validation errors as local error measures. This method evaluates local errors by comparing: (i) the leave-one-out cross-validation error with (ii) the actual local error estimated within a local hypercube for each training point. The comparison results show that the leave-one-out cross-validation strategy can capture the local errors of a surrogate. The DSUS framework is then applied to key aspects of wind resource as- sessment and wind farm cost modeling. The uncertainties in the wind farm cost and the wind power potential are successfully characterized, which provides designers/users more confidence when using these models

It defines different methods and correlations between these methods in order to make reliability comparison statements from different manufacturers' in easy way that may use different prediction methods and databases for failure rates. The paper finds however such comparison very difficult and risky unless the conditions for the reliability statements are scrutinized and analysed in detail.

Abstract Effort estimation is one of the critical challenges in Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC). It is the basis for the project’s effort estimation, planning, scheduling and budget planning. This paper illustrates model with an objective to depict the accuracy and bias variation of an organization’s estimates of software testing effort through Cobb-Douglas function (CDF). Data variables selected for building the model were believed to be vital and have significant impact on the accuracy of estimates. Data gathered for the completed projects in the organization for about 13 releases. Statistically, all variables in this model were statistically significant at p<0.05><0.01 levels. The Cobb-Douglas function was selected and used for the software testing effort estimation. The results achieved with CDF were compared with the estimates provided by the area expert. The model’s estimation figures are more accurate than the expert judgment. CDF has one of the appropriate techniques for estimating effort for software testing. CDF model accuracy is 93.42%.

Providing Globus Services to Users of JASMIN for Environmental Data AnalysisGlobus
JASMIN is the UK’s high-performance data analysis platform for environmental science, operated by STFC on behalf of the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In addition to its role in hosting the CEDA Archive (NERC’s long-term repository for climate, atmospheric science & Earth observation data in the UK), JASMIN provides a collaborative platform to a community of around 2,000 scientists in the UK and beyond, providing nearly 400 environmental science projects with working space, compute resources and tools to facilitate their work. High-performance data transfer into and out of JASMIN has always been a key feature, with many scientists bringing model outputs from supercomputers elsewhere in the UK, to analyse against observational or other model data in the CEDA Archive. A growing number of JASMIN users are now realising the benefits of using the Globus service to provide reliable and efficient data movement and other tasks in this and other contexts. Further use cases involve long-distance (intercontinental) transfers to and from JASMIN, and collecting results from a mobile atmospheric radar system, pushing data to JASMIN via a lightweight Globus deployment. We provide details of how Globus fits into our current infrastructure, our experience of the recent migration to GCSv5.4, and of our interest in developing use of the wider ecosystem of Globus services for the benefit of our user community.

Climate Science Flows: Enabling Petabyte-Scale Climate Analysis with the Eart...Globus
The Earth System Grid Federation (ESGF) is a global network of data servers that archives and distributes the planet’s largest collection of Earth system model output for thousands of climate and environmental scientists worldwide. Many of these petabyte-scale data archives are located in proximity to large high-performance computing (HPC) or cloud computing resources, but the primary workflow for data users consists of transferring data, and applying computations on a different system. As a part of the ESGF 2.0 US project (funded by the United States Department of Energy Office of Science), we developed pre-defined data workflows, which can be run on-demand, capable of applying many data reduction and data analysis to the large ESGF data archives, transferring only the resultant analysis (ex. visualizations, smaller data files). In this talk, we will showcase a few of these workflows, highlighting how Globus Flows can be used for petabyte-scale climate analysis.
We describe the deployment and use of Globus Compute for remote computation. This content is aimed at researchers who wish to compute on remote resources using a unified programming interface, as well as system administrators who will deploy and operate Globus Compute services on their research computing infrastructure.

• A combination of only a few static, dynamic, and test metrics enables the construction of a prediction model with
excellent discrimination power between levels of effectiveness:
- eight metrics yielding an AUC of .86 (Logistic Regression on Selected-SDT metrics)
- fifteen metrics yielding an AUC of .88 (Random Forest on StatDynaTest metrics)
• A confidence factor that can be used to assess the potential effectiveness of fault localization.
• The most influential metrics can also be used as a guide for corrective actions on code and test suites leading to
more effective fault localization.
• The effectiveness of fault localization depends more on the complexity of the code and test suite than on the fault
type and location.
• Selected dynamic metrics measure the degree to which the call graph is entangled. If the dynamic call graph of
the tests is highly entangled and coupled, it is difficult to localize a fault, no matter where it happens.
