Slides from 2015 Nonprofit Marketing Conference (MarkCon) presented by myself, Neill Bogan (NY Common Food Pantry), Aaaron Charlop-Powers (Neighborhood Trust Financial Partners) and Mohan Sivaloganathan (Sheltering Arms). How does branding help a nonprofit advance its mission? How does it impact communications and fundraising? This interactive session shared highlights from Big Duck's ebook, The Rebrand Effect, which explores the findings of a nationwide survey completed by over 350 nonprofits.
In this session, we articulated the benefits and influences of branding on a nonprofit, and demonstrated how it can provide a basis for more streamlined, compelling fundraising with individuals and corporations. We also talked about how rebranding can strengthen an organization's culture, and how, when coupled with strategic planning or a new fundraising strategy, it can best set up a nonprofit for effective fundraising.

Higher ed has a problem with its websites. Many of us are past that first big hump of "The Millennial Redesign." We've plopped down money on a shiny new CMS. Our design is hip and groovy. But an issue snuck in when we weren't looking. Centerpieces have become a staple component of the ever important home page. The problem is that they have homogenized us. We're all doing it, and we're all doing it the same, and pretty much everyone does it badly. This presentation will look at a number of sites and their centerpieces, look at common themes, address why our current trend is a problem, and make suggestions as to where we can go and what we can do to stand out and differentiate ourselves.

Community Organizing Tools from the Experts WebinarNTEN
In honor of NTEN's August 2014 theme of "Tools," we’ve invited several of our beloved Tech Club and Community of Practice organizers to give short presentations about their favorite community organizing tools. Tools and processes covered will include:
* Post-call communications to build community and extend discussions: Attendees will takeaway an easy post-call process that extends conversations, deepens impact, and broadens community.
* Microsoft Office workflow for mass mail: Learn a workflow for sending personalized mass emails that will not be filtered into promotions tabs or deleted as junk, but rather drive event sign-ups.
*Text expansion utilities to make your fingers fly: We spend much of our days typing the same thing over and over, but a text expander app can remove the drudgery from your life and make you appear to be the fastest typist ever!
* Screencasting with Jing: Learn how to record presentations using the free tool Jing to share images and short videos of your computer screen.
* Engagement with Twitter and Storify: Twitter chats present a great way to engage your supporters and volunteers in an accessible, consistent, and fun format. Storify lets you represent those conversations in a visual and dynamic format.
* Collaborate from afar with Google Docs: Learn how to use Google Docs to create, share, and collaborate on event planning documents and more.
2013 Nonprofit Engagement Data Management Study: A Graphic ReportNTEN
We surveyed nonprofit professionals about the "engagement" data their organizations track, how they use it, what their key challenges are regarding working with this data for their missions, and what their plans are regarding engagement data projects in the next 12 months. This is our graphic report of the results. The study was conducted by NTEN (nten.org) in partnership with Avectra (Avectra.com) in the spring of 2013.
Based on our research, we've found some correlation between nonprofit organizational practices and investments that impact overall organizational success when it come to managing technology for missions. Planning, Training, and Evaluation are key.

Russian anarchist and anti-war movement in the third year of full-scale warAntti Rautiainen
Anarchist group ANA Regensburg hosted my online-presentation on 16th of May 2024, in which I discussed tactics of anti-war activism in Russia, and reasons why the anti-war movement has not been able to make an impact to change the course of events yet. Cases of anarchists repressed for anti-war activities are presented, as well as strategies of support for political prisoners, and modest successes in supporting their struggles.
