Modeling and Simulation of Grid Connected PV SystemYogeshIJTSRD
The paper describes the Grid connected solar photovoltaique system using DC DC boost converter and the DC AC inverter VSC to supplies electric power to the utility grid. The PV cell model is easy, accurate, and takes external temperature and solar radiation into consideration. The paper presents detailed transient models of the grid connected PV Battery hybrid generation system, and all these models are simulated by using MATLAB Simulink. PV array is firstly connected to the common dc bus by a boost converter, where the battery is also connected by a bi directional DC DC converter, and then integrated into the ac utility grid by a common DC AC inverter. Maximum power point tracking helps PV array to generate the maximum power to the grid, and the battery energy storage can be charged and discharge to balance the power between PV generation and utility grid. The demand ofsustainable energy is increased daily by expanding our cities and creating new cities and suburbswith huge towers besides increasing in population,moreover the environment and human life is threatening by the pollutions resulted from energy generation. For this reason the researchersattracted todevelop renewable energy and explore its large benefits and unit capacity. Wind power is one of the clean renewable energy resources.Therefore the importance of implementing this resource in Kuwait draws our attention to make this research to emphasis on the technical and economic aspects due to acceptable environmental conditions. Whereas, in some areas of the world, such as in Japan, has some geographical and electrical restrictions such as power fluctuating for land wind generation. And the introductionof large amount of wind power generation tends to be extremely difficult and even impossible in some location. This research is aimed to concentrate on the visibility of utilizing the wind energy as complementary source for the existing steam and gas turbine power stations in Kuwait, furthermore point out the economical perspectives that will guide us to take the right decision. The location of wind farms is very important in this aspect where we cannot build such projects inside the cities between buildings besides meeting the minimum requirements for economic generation. The study prove to us that even at a location which is almost close to the inhabitants buildings ( Kuwait airport ) can get accepted results the historical data was collected from the weather station at internet. The implementation of wind turbine farms is foreseen to be economic in generation for long run and encouragestepping up toward putting the infrastructure design. Furthermoreit is an opportunity for creating new job vacancies.

With augmented significance on eco-friendly technologies the use of renewable energy sources such as micro-hydro, wind, solar, biomass and biogas is being explored. This paper presents an addresses the potential impacts of grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) systems on electrical networks. The paper starts by emphasizing the increased importance of generating electricity from PV arrays. The growth in PV installed capacity worldwide is elaborated; futuristic expansion plans for several countries as well as existing PV projects worldwide are highlighted. The paper continues by evaluating the most important impacts of PV electricity on electrical networks. Finally, the authors summarize the literatures findings regarding the maximum allowable PV penetration that can be safely integrated into existing networks. Design of Hybrid Solar-Wind Power System for a Coaster Area in Lagos State, S...paperpublications3
Abstract: Akodo community in Ibeju Lekki local government area of Lagos State is a rural area without access to grid electricity. Extension of the grid to the community is difficult and uneconomical; hence a hybrid energy system stands as a solution for electrification in Akodo.
In this project, the HOMER (Hybrid Optimization Model for Electric Renewables) software was used to simulate a Solar and Wind hybrid system. In terms of energy delivery, the design was adequate for the 89kW load of the community. The important variables in the simulation are the level of availability of resources and the slope of the PV modules. The slope of the modules at 12o and 15o gave different levelised costs of energy (LCOE) of N27.521/kWh for the 12o PV slope and N28.846/kWh for the 15o PV slope. The PV slope at 12o is more desirable and more economical than that at 15o. The hybrid system is proposed for a project lifetime of 25 years.

Precincts to Support the Delivery of Zero Energy
This report frames the physical and organisational context for precinct action and identifies potential programs and government solutions that may be applied to better streamline the realisation of precinct-scale action to progress towards zero energy (and carbon) ready residential buildings within both new and existing precincts.
The report was developed based on a literature review and engagement with more than 80 stakeholders from industry, academia and government with the aim of identifying appropriate government action in the form of proposed solutions that may be applicable across Commonwealth, state and territory and/ or local governments.
The report has given focus to opportunities for precincts that are not already considered in the Trajectory to ensure that a wider system response is taken to considering the zero energy (and carbon) ready outcomes being sought.

6. UCSD as a Model Campus The University of California, San Diego (UCSD), with 45,000 daily occupants, is the second-largest user of electricity (~40 MW) in San Diego (after the city itself, which is the seventh-largest city in the United States). UCSD has an aggressive program to reduce its carbon footprint for generating electricity, which saves approximately $8 million annually in energy costs. UCSD operates a natural gas cogeneration facility that supplies about 90 percent of the campus electricity, which reduces reliance on out-of-state coal-burning power generation. UCSD’s carbon-reduction program also includes installing 1.2 MW of solar panels (with an additional 2 MW likely), acquiring a 2.8 MW fuel cell powered by locally sourced methane from a San Diego waste-treatment plant, and exploring the use of cold seawater for cooling to reduce energy and freshwater use. This program will allow UCSD to move approximately 15 percent of its fossil fuel power generation to renewable energy in just a few years. Because of its energy savings and cogeneration, UCSD was able to export over 3 MW of electricity to the region during the San Diego wildfires in 2007, when four of the five California electrical grid connections to San Diego had been rendered inoperable. 7. UC Irvine as a Model Campus The University of California, Irvine (UCI), is the only university campus cited in the “Best Overall” category of California’s Flex Your Power statewide energy-efficiency campaign in December 2008. UCI led in efficiency by saving 3.7 million kWh of electricity during the 2007–8 fiscal year, reducing peak demand by up to 68 percent and saving nearly 4 million gallons of water annually. UCI’s 2008 calendar-year GHG reduction program (e.g., green building construction, low-carbon generation infrastructure, energy efficiency) annually eliminates 62,000 mTCO 2 e and saves the campus $28.9 million. In 2008, UCI agreed to have SunEdison finance, build, and operate a solar energy system at UCI. In March 2009, UCI began purchasing energy generated by the system, which is expected to produce more than 24 million kWh (equivalent to offsetting nearly 12,000 mTCO 2 e) over twenty years.
