Cleats Descriptive Writing
Seeing my cleats you would naturally think that they are worn by an average athlete unconcerned with
style. The first thing noticeable is how the cleats were originally white, but have turned a yellowish
brownish color like fading summer grass. The right cleat s lace is torn on the end, so I had to even out
the laces to be able to tie them. The left shoe has a black broken hair tie, knotted 5 times at the bottom
of the lace. It was my girlfriend s before it broke and she let me have it for some extra luck. The once
clear , rubber spikes on the bottom had now turned brown and opaque, worn down to about the length
of a fingernail. The covering near the toe of the shoe was beginning to rip off, so you could see a light
brown rough fabric that structured the cleat. Even though they re ugly, worn out, and ready to be
tossed into the trash, these cleats gave me the best two seasons of my life: one season of lacrosse,
which turned out to be the season that led to a chance for me to commit to the college of my dreams,
and one season of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They held up and stayed clean on the hot, burning turf at OrthoCarolina Sportsplex. The summer went
by fast and in 3 weeks, the cleats and myself went on to play some lacrosse at Franklin Field, the
stadium of the University of Pennsylvania, my dream school. Playing on this field for the first time, I
hoped it wouldn t be the last. The hair band was sitting on the bottom of the left shoelace giving me all
the luck I needed. The bottom of the cleats had some dirt stuck in the creases and a small ant pile of
turf pellets under my heel. The hair band gave me some extra luck on that day because I might have
played the best lacrosse I have ever played. Franklin Field is the place where I ripped part of the shoe
lace off of my right shoe. The marks that these cleats left on Franklin Field will never be

A Country Is The Top Of South America
Venezuela is a country is at the top of South America. Its total land mass is about 352,144 square miles
and its capital is Caracas. The country is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Guyana, Brazil, and
Columbia. This Spanish speaking country is broken down into four environmental regions. The
coastal zone has the greatest population because all of the big cities in the region. The plains,
otherwise known as llanos, has the greatest region, making up about one third of the country. Andean
Mountain Range, more popularly known as the Andes, is the longest continental mountain range in the
world. Lastly, the Guiana Highlands homes most of the Indians native to the country. Venezuela seems
like a simple and beautiful place. After learning about the country s political history and economy it
becomes more complicated and turns into a war zone. Venezuela s past government has a rocky path.
The start of the chaos was in 1830 when they first started as a Federal Republic. From 1870 1888
Antonio Guzman Blanco was in charge. During his time in power he built infrastructure, expanded the
agriculture sector, and created foreign investments. The next known leader was Juan Vincente Gomez.
His dictatorship started in 1908 and continued til 1935. Gomez s was the reason Venezuela is a major
oil exporter today. Following Gomez s term, the country decided to draft a brand new constitution
finalized in 1946. A year later, this constitution led to Venezuela s first elected, President Romulo

Tombstone Film Analysis
Tombstone The Wild West, following the civil war, and even after reconstruction, was a place filled
with surprising and fascinating characters, including the well known and quite stereotypical character
of the western cowboy. Though not all cowboys are presented in a bad or harsh manner, some,
including the ones in George P. Cosmatos gritty and bloody shoot em up western film, are. While
some may be dubious of the apparent luck and skill of some of the gunmen such as Doc Holliday and
Wyatt Earp, many of the gunfights did have real witnesses, rendering them real. The film is extremely
accurate, and George P. Cosmatos made sure of it, lining the streets and towns in the movie with dusty,
sandy, dirty people, period style horses and carriages and amazing costume design. Even the fast
moving gunfight at the O.K. Corral is portrayed almost completely historically. The film afforded only
a few occasions when continuity and story progression was deemed more important than historical
accuracy. The technical aspects as well, such as the cinematography, hearty gunshots by the sound
design crew, and editing make Tombstone a very action packed and fun to watch movie ... Show more

The roles were chosen spectacularly well, often times with actors already accustomed to playing
western characters (as in the case of Sam Elliott playing Virgil. That being said, the actors also did an
outstanding job with their respective roles. Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer each played stellar roles as
Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday, respectively. Their acting was not only great, but also fairly historical.
Even though each actor was sure to bring his own style to the character he/she was playing, it does not
diminish accuracy of the characters, and most likely adds to the enjoyment of the film as a whole as
each character had some stellar lines, such as Doc Holliday s, I m your huckleberry and, I ll be a daisy

Dr. Brien s Decision Making
Johnny O Brien is a 78 year old man who suffered a fall in a RSL club and was promptly admitted to
the emergency department. Clinical reasoning will be applied to Mr O Brien s situation, Clinical
reasoning is a process which incites clinicians to think critically when attempting to solve a problem
that may occur with a patient. It is imperative to health professionals as inadequate clinical reasoning
skills can jeopardize a patient s safety and reduce the effectiveness of how a situation is dealt with this
can occur due to bad decision making, ignorance to multiple possibilities and failure to act on the
information that is provided clinical reasoning aims to avoid these issues (Levett Jones, 2013). The
night of Mr O Brien s fall he had 3 bottles of wine but on average usually drinks 5. When leaving the
RSL club Mr O Brien suffered from a fall which caused a laceration on his left elbow which currently

The Five Innovation Building Blocks
Ways of Thinking
According to the reading that was provided, innovation in government has been a challenge. Sandford
Borins identified that issue in his 2006 report, The Challenge of Innovating in Government. In
Sandford Borins article, he discusses and outlines the five innovation building blocks, obstacles, and
challenges of innovating government. Sandford Borins is a Professor of Public Management in the
Joseph L. Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto. He has written an extensive
report on the challenge of innovation in government by discussing the five innovation building blocks.

Although he has identified the challenges, he also recommends ways of implementing innovation in
government. Let s first start off by identifying what Borins has identified under the five building
blocks of innovation in his report.
Ways of Acting:
In The Challenge of Innovating in Government, Sandford Borins (2006) report first identifies the five
innovation building blocks. The first building block was the use of a system approach. According to
Borins (2006), from a previous study, approached the data with his own classification scheme for the
characteristics of the innovations, partnership, which was one component. Borins (2006) identified
that there are varying levels of complexity and comprehensiveness of organizational partners and
cooperative arrangements.
Building block two: the use of information technology systems in large government are large and
expensive, and experience has shown that some systems have been costly and disastrous failures
(Borins, 2006). Information technology is widely considered as a way of innovation, but with the
technologic advancement it has been a challenge for government.
Building block three: process improvement refers to innovation designed to make governmental
processes faster, friendlier, or more acceptable (Borins, 2006). According to Borins (2006), these
initiatives often involved applications of the Pareto rule (20 percent of the cases are responsible for 80
percent of the workload, and

The Battle Of Defending The Red Army Essay
The date is August 15, 1942. 19 year old Alexei Petrov has been on edge for the last two days as
German forces continue to siege the city of Stalingrad. Alexei and 100,000 other soldiers of the Red
Army are tasked with the arduous mission of defending the city at all costs. Joseph Stalin has ordered
a no retreat policy, and made it clear that it is paramount to win the siege of Stalingrad. It has been a
year and a few months since the Germans invaded the Soviet Union and it seems as though nothing
could exacerbate the German advance. Alexei Petrov was born May 28, 1923, to a family of 2 sisters
in St. Petersburg. His father was a shopkeeper and his mother was a secretary. His family was not
wealthy, nor insolvent. A year and a half earlier, Alexei was working in his father s shop and was his
apprentice. He was a tall, muscular young man who was very athletic. Also, he had pale skin, with
light blue eyes, and dark brown hair. Alexei was an erudite young man, with a promising future.
Alexei had morals and was an honest young adult. He had no ambition of joining the army as he did
not condone killing a human being. However, in the summer of 1941, he was drafted just as most men
his age were. He had been fighting on the front lines for almost a year and had witnessed more tragedy
than anyone should have to in his/her whole life. By August of 1942 Alexei was no longer a fledgling
as he had been fighting for a year. He began the fight on the Soviet German border located in

The War Showing No Signs Of Ending, The Watergate Scandal...
Davis Hinshaw Mrs Weide American History II 4 December 2016 The 1980s With the cold war
showing no signs of ending, the watergate scandal and the vietnam war it was no surprise that the
1980s were a complete explosion of counterculture and mistrust in the government. The election of
former actor Ronald Reagan kickstarted the 1980s with his optimistic ideas he appealed to many
americans. He was running against former president Jimmy Carter, Reagan won the election with 51%
of electoral vote. He promised to work to get the US government out of people s everyday lives and
provide major tax cuts. These ideas won the support of many throughout the US. The 1980s was the
birthplace of a new era, an era of moviegoers and people who loved to watch tv. At the end of the
1980s 60% of the population had cable TV. Movies such as E.T., Back To The Future and The
Breakfast Club all debuted in the 1980s. One major contribution to TV being so popular was MTV
because it went against the norm and showed all kinds of music. MTV had a large span of artist that
consist of Guns N Roses, Metallica, Public Enemy, and many more. MTV was a way for people to get
their unsaid feeling out without having to face backlash. The 1980s experienced many things that have
lasted through decades and are even still around today, such as personal computers, MTV, and cell
phones. The 1980s was a major contributor in shaping the way the US and even the world is today.

Essay on Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer On May 10, 1996, nine people perished on Mt. Everest. Jon Krakauer, a
writer from Outside magazine, was there to witness the events and soon after write the book, Into Thin
Air, chronicling the disaster. Jon Krakauer is not only the writer and narrator of Into Thin Air but is
also one of the main characters. Originally Outside Magazine planned to send Krakauer to Everest in
order for him to write a story for the magazine. The climb was completely financed by the magazine
with one of the leading Everest guide groups led by Rob Hall, an elite climber. Krakauer divides the
people on the mountain into two main categories, tourist and elite. The elite being guides and Sherpas
like Hall, Harris and Ang Dorje, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite his impressive record he had never attempted anything close to the scale of Everest, whose
summit is at an extremely dangerous altitude. He even admits to his relative inexperience with high
altitude saying, Truth be told, I d never been higher than 17,200 feet not even as high as Everest Base
Camp (28). Krakauer also mentions how he has gotten out of shape over the years partially because of
the lack of climbing in his life, making him even less prepared for the assent. Krakauer shows a
definite fear of such a high mountain, referring to climbers who have perished in the past. He states
that, Many of those who died had been far stronger and possessed vastly more high altitude experience
than I. (28). Even though Krakauer s experience may be more relevant to the Everest assent than some
of the other tourist climbers, it is nowhere near the level needed to be considered an elite climber.
One of the most important qualities that an elite climber must have is leadership. The elite climbers
and guides must be able to meet a number of new people that are strangers to each other and build
some sense of a team. Krakauer does not have a strong background in leading groups or building
comradery, which is key for a climb like Everest. Krakauer says himself, In climbing, having
confidence in your partners is no small concern (40). He also mentions how the actions of one climber
can affect the welfare of the entire team (40). The type of group he climbed with on

Nipah Virus Research Paper
For the Nipah Virus, fruit bats of the Pteropus genus have been identified as the natural reservoir. The
virus has been isolated in many bodily locations, such as the brain and spinal fluid, and from
environmental prototypes, like bat urine and partially eaten fruit, such as found in cases of Malaysia.
Antibodies of the Nipah virus have been found in the sera of fruit bats, which have been collected in
India, Indonesia, and many others such as Madagascar and Ghana. The presence of these antibodies
indicate that goats, horses, and some cats and dogs have been reported as infected, with a history of
exposure to infected pigs in Malaysia. This wide range of locations where NiV has been discovered

These reported outbreaks have a strong seasonal pattern and a limited geographical range , with a

Health, p.3). As NiV was first recognized in an outbreak of 276 cases in Malaysia and Singapore from
September 1998 to May 1999, most of the patients documented were noted to have had some contact
with infected pigs. Autopsy findings showed diffused vasculitis within the central nervous system,
including immunostaining of endothelial cells with anti Nipah virus hyper immune serum. Of the

from urine specimens collected from P. hypomelanus roost, as well as fruit partially eaten by bats in
Malaysia. Experimental injections of Pteropus bats were conducted in order to identify the existence
of the NiV virus within the mammals; however, it does not cause illness in the bats. While over fifty

Comparative Analysis Between Three Different Curricula
Comparative Analysis between Three Different Curricula:
Te Whāriki, New Zealand Curriculum (2007) and Reggio Emilia
The history of early childhood in New Zealand Aotearoa is not as extensive as countries such as the
United Kingdom though, does not mean it is not complicated. Aotearoa s history of early childhood
education (ECE) is deeply entangled within social, cultural and political contexts. These contexts have
shaped the mandated and chosen curriculums of ECE today (Duhn, 2009). The 1980 s was a
significant era that had fundamental influences on curriculums such as Te Whāriki (1996) and New
Zealand Curriculum (NZC) (2007). Within this era, education and care was transformed as the
government (of the day) were persuaded to invest more in ECE. This transformation was guided by an
ideological shift, hence becoming the period of governmental and economic reform (May, 2004).
Anne Meade (1989) depicted Aotearoa to the international community as in the midst of knitting a
new early childhood sweater (cited in May 2004, p. 203), in other words, a new curriculum. Reports
helped the knitting of the new curriculum through its political pathways. The Education to be More
report (Meade Report) described a progressive framework for ECE development focusing on
achieving high quality ECE (May, 2004). It strived to make all policies across the ECE sector equally
important as primary, secondary and tertiary education. However, The Bailey Report requested that

Minimum Wage Wars
Minimum Wage Wars In 2015, the Illinois minimum wage is $8.25 an hour (Schreiber and Young).
There are people in Illinois who want to raise the minimum wage to $15. The current debate for the
increase in minimum wage is that, by increasing the minimum wage, cost of living will be easier to
pay for, poverty levels will decrease, and produce income equality. This notion sounds like a good
idea initially; however, what will the repercussions of raising the minimum wage most likely look
like? Increasing the minimum wage will probably have the opposite effect of what is intended by its
supporters. A $15 raise in minimum wage may result in job loss. A 2006 review of more than 100
minimum wage studies by David Neumark and William Wascher found

Beyonce Feminist Analysis
When Beyonce stood in front of a large LED screen that displayed FEMINIST at the 2014 VMA
awards, like minded women everywhere cheered. There stood a celebrity who did not shy away from
the word that had become similar to a curse. Very few women were willing to own up to the title of
Feminist before Beyonce did. It is, perhaps, a leftover sentiment from the raging second wave of
feminism, the so called bra burners who would protest Miss America Pageants. Today, Feminism
attempts to speak for a broader definition of women than in the past. In the midst of the second wave
of feminism, non white women were still trying to be heard in the feminist movement. In the
Combahee River Collective, Black Women state that, The only people who care enough about us to
work consistently for are liberation are us. Though truly it is difficult to discuss the history that we are
living today, Feminism has tried to embrace both queer feminists and non white feminists, and also
feminists who are unafraid to embrace their femininity. Rio Grrl is particularly famous for publishing

Application Essay To The Tisch School Of The Arts Curriculum
While NYU has a reputation and location that are in and of themselves compelling, to me, this school
embodies so much more. I have spent the last year exploring every reputable drama program in both
the United States and Canada and I am convinced that the Tisch School of the Arts curriculum best
nears my educational hopes and philosophies. The strong conservatory training combined with
academic rigor is exactly the challenge I am looking for to prepare myself for the world of performing
arts, both in the theatre and in everyday life.
While my goal is to be an actor, I desire an education that encompasses much more than the theatre. I
not only want artistic training, but also a rich, diverse, academic education. I am committed to acting,
but I know that it is necessary to write well, think critically, and holistically examine the world around
me. I recognize the importance of an integrated learning environment that is both stimulating and
rigorous, and I believe that the Tisch educational curriculum will assure that I meet these goals. As a

Research Paper On The Ugly Puppy In The Window
The Ugly Puppy in the Window
It s nearly impossible to walk by a pet store and to ignore the cute puppies in the window. Their paws
leaning against the glass, they re begging us to take them home and out of an impulse, some people
occasionally do. Taking a puppy home and introducing it to its new environment is usually associated
with great joy. Their clumsy behavior, wagging tails, and curious noses make everyone smile, and you
don t have to be a dog lover to fall for these big puppy eyes. What a lot of people don t know when
they purchase a puppy at a pet store, however, is that the little dog might have spent its first few weeks
in a large breeding facility where dogs are bred for sole profit, commonly known as a puppy mill.
Although the USDA, the United States Department of Agriculture, has laws in place to keep these
animals safe, the housing and husbandry standards are often barely minimal, leading to suffering
puppies and breeding females with terrible health concerns, as well as psychological traumas.
The Humane Society of the United States estimates that there are currently around 10,000 puppy mills

Comparison Between Catullus And Jupiter
Catullus 70 is Catullus questioning his relationship with Cloudia. The poem begins by Catullus calling
his lover mulier, the latin word for a married women. Catullus says that this married women would
marry no other than him. Calling his lover a married woman sets up a tension that Catullus carries
throughout the poem. His lover tells him that she would rather be with him than anyone, but Catullus
specific example of who she would choose him over is Jupiter. This comparison between Catullus and
Jupiter is interesting because Jupiter was known for being both the supreme god as well as the god
who would rape people. So on the one hand, Catullus is being chosen over the most supreme god, but
on the other hand, Catullus is only being chosen

Contributions Of Eugene Sorel
George Eugene Sorel was a philosopher and a theorist in sorelianism. He is remembered because of
his power to the myth which inspired the Marxists, the fascists, and the anarchists together with
defending violence. He openly claimed to be a Marxist and a socialist. Sorel joined the political world
and worked on his first French Marxist journal, participated in a debate and critics with Marxism.
Sorel associated with Charles Maurras without sharing its nationalism or political program. He came
together with Jean Varriot and wrote a journal on independence. He was against the First World War in
1914 and gave thanks to the Russian revolution which was altering published as an official Soviet
Union. In less than a year, Sorel praised the Italian fascist leader due to his great knowledge in
politics.
Sorel started as a marginal Marxist and an analyst of Marx s economies and philosophy. He then
embraced revisionism. He has been a political monarchist before changing to Marxism in the 1890s.
He tried to change the theories of Marxism with his ideas, the example he saw the Marxism had
irrational and neglected Karl Marx s rationalism. Sorel was a voluntarism Marxism who believed in
the important will and preferring direct action.
Sorelianism as advanced by Sorel (1999) advocated for classical tradition and believed that the victory
of the proletariat in the class struggle could be achieved only through the power of myth and general

Christian and Environmental Stewardship
Christians and Stewardship of Their Environment 1. Introduction Our earthly habitat is not an
unexpected occurrence of little worth, but rather, it is one to be highly valued and preserved. The
biblical doctrine of creation helps the Christian to understand the true significance of the world in
order to deal with the environmental crisis. The Bible says, For thus saith the Lord that created the
heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in
vain, he formed it to be inhabited... (King James Version, Isaiah 45:18). In Christian teaching, God not
only created Heavens and Earth, but expressed His delight in His creation. This creation meant,
everything encompassing the trees, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That means we do not have the right to do with the earth as we see fit. We cannot exploit the land and
suck it dry of all of its natural resources. To be a steward is to manage the property of another; that
means to care for it and use it properly, not exploit or abuse the resources of the master. On the other
hand, we are not to revere or worship the earth as God s creation to the point where we fail to subdue
it. God commands us to have dominion over the animal kingdom and to subdue the earth (Genesis
1:28). Pro environmental groups like Deep Ecology believe that humans have an obligation to
themselves and the environment as well. They believe that all forms of life have the right to exist, and
that humans aren t any different from other species. They basically say that humans are equal to other
species. ( Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy ). This is the sin that Saint Paul refers to: Because they
exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator,
who is blessed forever (King James Version, Romans 1:25). Just as it is a sin to ruthlessly exploit the
earth and its resources for greedy gain, so too is it a sin to revere the earth as an object of worship. We
must walkout a balance between worship and exploitation, and that is where the stewardship model
comes in. The stewardship model sees the earth as a blessed gift from God for the advancement and
nurturing of human

Types of Relationships

Expository Essay Wk2
Three Types of Relationships Human relationships have always perplexed me. These seemingly
simple bonds between people can amount to so much and cause such commotion that lives change
drastically within minutes in these relationships. Especially in the fast changing world of today. In my
piece I am going to be telling you about the three types of relationships I see taking place. Over time, I
have asked myself three questions, finding the answers along the way, which is what I will be
explaining to you. To begin, how much does one compromise on self gratification for the sake of
commitment? Or should one compromise at all in the name of love? Finally, what happens when love
is found outside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Compromising in the name love is just wrong to do; whatever the circumstances. This sort of actions
you would find in arranged marriages and usually it is the female that has to make this compromise
and suffer. A classic example of this type of relationship can be seen in arranged marriages in Indian
families, but these are not limited for Indian families in India; these can still be seen in American or
other parts of the world where Indian or Muslim families reside. Only true love can set them free of
this compromise but it just ends up in a big blunder because it would create a lot of friction and pose a
lot of questions. When someone truly loves, they expect to have it back in return. Not an act. Lastly,
what happens when love is found outside ones commitment? This to me is a sad thing but also a happy
thing when it is dealt with maturely and with much understanding. Regarding my earlier points;
imagine in this compromise that is made. It takes a true person to understand when love is found
outside a relationship by the compromising partner. Although the other party is strongly in love with
this person, they would understand that this was not their love story after all and should be happy that
their partner found theirs. Yes it is a sad thing to happen in a relationship, but when one understands
the meaning of true love only then they can let go without any qualms. In conclusion I would

Roman Catholic and 3% are Protestants. This widespread of Christianity traces its roots back to the
early sixteenth century when the Spanish invaded Honduras. Folk dances and modern dances are
enjoyed by Hondurans. The sique and mascaro are the two main types of folk dances in Honduras
(Painter, 2016). VI. Living Conditions Rural conditions are vastly different from those who live in the
city. 60% of the land is forested while 25% is available for agriculture. Many of the citizens are
farmers because of the amount of land accessible to farm with. The quality of soil is far less than
standard. In the mountainous areas, the soil is either eroded or not viable enough to sustain crops
grown. Because of this, many small farmers are much poorer and live in poverty. Many families eat
corn or beans for the better part of each meal while meat is rare to some (Merrill, 1995). ... Show more

Character Analysis Of Loki
Loki is the embodiment of, Of course it was Loki. It s always Loki. Loki is unquestionably the biggest
question mark within Norse mythology. He is portrayed as a scheming, mischievous deity who has no

character arises questions about his role; was he a plot device, a foil for the Aesir, or maybe he was
meant to be used as a warning to child? Within the pantheon of Norse gods, he was an anomaly; his
fellow gods are mostly one dimensional and Loki is anything but. Loki is the antithesis to the culture

Imagine if someone you loved was shot. You call the cops, but they say that there is nothing that can
be done because there are no laws saying they have to punish the criminal. If there were no laws,
criminal could get away with crimes like that repeatedly without any punishment. This is a prime
example of why laws are needed to keep society in order. The idea of rules in society has been around
since King Hammurabi created the first set of laws in 1760 B.C. Egyptian civilizations created laws so
that their society would last longer than other civilizations because people would respect their morals.

Lord of the Flies. As people grow older in society, they get separated into groups based on age (baby,

Metal Reactivity Series Lab 2015
Teaghan Hignett March 15, 2015 Mr. Cho SCH3U Metal Reactivity Series Lab 2015 Question: What
is the relative reactivity of aluminum, potassium, copper, iron and hydrogen? Introduction: This lab
will introduce several key concepts surrounding metal reactivity as well as electronegativity and
periodic trends on the periodic table. Electronegativity by definition is a measure of the tendency of an
atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons. In a bond between atoms in a molecule, the atom that is
more electronegative will attract the bonded pair of electrons closer to it s own nucleus. Reactivity
refers to how vigorously or the likelihood of a element to react with other elements or substances.
Electronegativity can be used to determine the reactivity of a substance as well as using ionization
energy (how easily electrons can be removed from an outer shell). This lab will allow us to look into
the relative reactivity of metals. Relative reactivity means the reactivity scale in order of decreasing
reactivity between the 5 metals chosen above. The tests that allow us to build a reactivity series for
metals use Single Displacement Reactions. When performing these tests, the substances will only
react if substance A is more reactive than substance B. If no reaction occurs than substance B is more
reactive that A. This happens because A and B are cations and the X is what will bind with either A or
B and X is also a anion. Anions will only switch cations if it benefits them

Airbus operates in this industry by building airplanes with seating capacities ranging from 100 to 350
seats. Over the past few years, Airbus has been extremely successful developing airplanes in this size
range, increasing its industry market share to approximately 33%. However, quantifying Airbus past
financial success is difficult because prior to its 1999 1.6 billion euro IPO, Airbus was a private
partnership. As a result, very little past financial information is available.
The following analysis identifies the major strategic issues of Airbus and its industry, provides
alternatives and a recommendation of the most optimal solution, and details a plan of implementation
for the company.

substitutes that exist within the large commercial aircraft industry. Additionally, the analysis identifies
the pressure that each of these groups applies on the industry and estimates the impact this pressure
has on potential industry profits. Each group is identified using a high, medium, or low pressure
classification. A high pressure classification indicates the group reduces industry profit potential and
vice versa. Given the high tech nature of the airplane industry, there are relatively few suppliers
capable of providing parts to Airbus and Boeing. In contrast to Boeing, who relies heavily on

The Convention Center Is The Host Of The Independent Party...
The Charlotte Convention center is proud to be the host of the Independent party convention;
throughout the convention we will be the host to the various activities that will enhance the party s
incentives. During political conventions there are a lot of activities that happen throughout the course
of these events. The event planning committee is preparing for a wide range of events such as
speeches, nomination process, seminars, the stating of the party platform, and parades. While all these
activities have a certain amount of risk involved, parades and the demonstrations that occur during a
political convention provide a greater amount of risk. As a result, the following risk management plan
will address the risk associated with parades and demonstrations, and offer solution that will reduce
the risks associated with these events. A parade is a public celebration of a special day or event that

Learning Asl After The Classroom
Introduction As a hispanic, it is a rite of passage to speak Spanish. With two full time working parents,
I learned Spanish from my care takers in a home environment. Having care takers that are immigrants
and not highly educated, grammar is not a strong suit and so it was not focused on when I was
learning. Since it was not a school environment, basic grammar rules were memorized through
examples not written and explained. In high school, I took half a year of American Sign Language.
Learning ASL after the critical age in a classroom, made it difficult for me to memorize the grammar
rules. On the first day of class, the professor came in and only communicated through sign language.
After explaining the expectations of the curriculum, she highly encouraged the class to speak in sign
language for the semester. My professor stressed vocabulary and word order and spent very little time
on facial expressions, which effect the meanings of signs. Along with ASL, I took two years of
Spanish in high school. Having two teachers, I had different experiences in the classroom. My first
teacher solely taught the class on memorization, minimal rules were mentioned and accents were not
addressed in class. Much of the class was taught in English and my teachers Spanish was not the best.
My second teacher challenged the students, he required all responses to be in Spanish, active
participation and daily homework. He focused on grammar rules and applying them in different

the employees were supposed to go about their work for that day. The employees will first show up

cross dressing and transvestism, as this still remains as a 21st century phenomena with often
transgressed representations. Specifically looking at this representation in Tipping the Velvet by Sarah
Waters a Neo Victorian fiction novel, Analysing how the performance and act of a male impersonation
is created represented and how the act is received.
Neo Victorian literature is most commonly seen as contemporary fiction or culture, which is usually
set between 1837 and 1901 during the Victorian era, or it is highly influenced by this ... Show more

Women had one role within society, which was to marry and take care of their husbands then,
eventually tend to the needs their children. However this changes when Nancy visits the music hall
she is instantly attracted to one of the performers; a male impersonator called Kitty Butler. After
forming a love affair with Kitty, Nancy accompanies Kitty to London initially to assist her with her
costume changes. However Nancy soon has a role within the act and forms a career. Nan and Kitty s
double act becomes popular amongst audiences. On one evening Nancy encounters Kitty and their
manager, in bed together. As a result Nancy leaves her safe surroundings with only a small amount of
money and some of the outfits that they had worn when performing her act. She soon discovers that
London is a not a safe place for an unaccompanied female I felt suddenly quite sick with
apprehension. I placed a hand against the wall; a boy walked past me, whistling. When he had passed I
looked about me at the unfamiliar houses in a kind of panic [...] it seemed a wilderness [4] As a result
of this she uses the male clothing she has at her disposal as form of masquerade that for a short time
allows her to walk without trepidation. However this masquerade only falls victim to Victorian men
who believe she is a young male and wish to seek sexual services. Seeing that she has the chance to
make money. Nancy becomes a male prostitute. It is during this time that Diana Leathery approaches

The Network Requirements Of Many Small Organizations
The networking requirements of many small organizations can be served by a single LAN with one or
two servers. The design of a small network should be simplistic, but practical, reliable and scalable. A
good LAN network must easily expand as the business grows, even if the scale of the original
environment is small. Avoid making technology judgments that might limit the company as it grows. I
will deal with the physical and logical design of a LAN by building a network in a test laboratory,
consisting of computers, an Appliance Security Appliance (ASA) 5505 firewall and switches. Network

History of Depression
History of Depression
Depressive illness has been known since biblical times. The word depression comes from the Latin
word deprimere (to press down). Thus it means feeling pressed down, sad or low. In the late Middle
Ages, religious leaders believed depression was caused by posession of evil spirits. The German
religious reformer Martin Luther wrote All heaviness of the mind and melancholy comes of the Devil.
Through the years depression has been treated with such remedies as whipping, bloodletting, exorcism
and soothing baths. By the 1960s, antidepressant medications were discovered that relieved depression
by correcting chemical imbalances in the brain and because of that many scientists started to believe
that depression was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A series of physical symptoms usually accompany anxiety attacks, such as heart palpitations,
dizziness, sweating ( ever sweaty palms sickness is not a depression syndrome), chest pains and
shortness of breath. Feeling of guilt also occurs in a third of depressed people, often because of some
failure of minor mistake many years ago. They feel they should expect punishment for these imagined
mistakes or failures. (like suddenly feeling sorry for cheating in high school math test when you are
thirty years old!)
Common causes
bullying or abuse
loss of a friend or relative
substantial disappointment at home or at work
prolonged or chronic illness
drugs such as tranquilizers, high blood pressure medicines, steroids (prednisone), codeine, and
indomethacin
alcohol/drugs intoxication and withdrawal
childhood memories
There are other causes of depression. This list is not all inclusive, and the causes are not presented in
order of likelihood. The causes of this symptom can include unlikely diseases and medications.
Furthermore, the causes may vary based on age and gender of the affected person, as well as on the
specific characteristics of the symptom such as quality, time course, aggravating factors, relieving
factors, and associated complaints. Even media plays a big role in depression. Magazines and TV
shows create an image of perfect bodies: slim women with big breasts and guys with all

The Horror Of Horror Movies Essay
Horror isn t a Single Genre You re sitting in a dark room with your eyes glues to the television screen,
bowl of popcorn sitting loosely in your lap. On the screen is a dark shadowy figure chasing a woman
throughout a house and watching this scene is making your heart pound out of your chest. This is the
feeling you get when you typically watch a horror movie, you feel like you re about to explode due to
the tension on screen. There are many subgenres of horror movies and it seems like most people lump
them all in to one category, but today we won t be doing that. We will be touching on various
subgenres of the horror universe: slasher films, body horror, giallo, and zombie films. Slasher films
are frightfully delicious and when the genre comes to mind all I can think about is a super predictable
good time! Slasher films are, as said by Sarah Trencansky, those horror movies that consist of a
monster or maniac stalking and/or killing a succession of people, usually teenagers (64). I couldn t
have said it better myself. The slasher genre is also riddled with a countless number of series such as
the Hellraiser series, Nightmare on Elmstreet, and the most notable, The Halloween series. A great
example would be from Halloween II when Michael Myers is on a killing spree inside of a desolate
hospital late on Halloween night. One of the nurses goes out in the parking lot to leave only to
discover that every vehicles tires have been slashed. The nurse then runs inside the

The Horrors of War in Wilfred Owen s Poem, Dulce et Decorum Est
From the earliest records of history, accounts of war have been portrayed as valiant acts of heroism.
Children and adults alike have gathered together to hear tales of war and its glory. From the stories of
Alexander the Great to recent day movies like Saving Private Ryan, war has been praised and exalted
with words such as bravery, honor, and freedom. However, Wilfred Owen s poem Dulce et Decorum
Est shows the ugly, horrible side of fighting. By use of gripping words and vivid descriptions, Owen
paints incredible pictures of what World War I was really like. He tears away the glory and drama and
reveals the real essence of fighting: fear, torture, and death. No ... Show more content on

Then, An ecstasy of fumbling / Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time / But someone still was yelling
out and stumbling [. . .]. Everyone has managed to put on his mask, except one unfortunate soldier. As
the mustard gas seeps into his lungs, he begins to scream and jerk around, but it is too late for his
companions to save him. [W]atch the white eyes writing in his face / His hanging face / [. . .] at every
jolt, the blood / Come gargling from the froth corrupted lungs [. . .] / Of vile, incurable sores on the

the soldiers feel at being given the chance to die for their country.
Second, striking similes are used throughout the whole poem. The speaker does not content himself
with using age old phrases or comparisons. His similes are unique and gripping. Like old beggars
under sacks, like a man in fire or lime, and like a devil s sick of sin, help to add vivid mental pictures
to the poem. The soldier s uniforms are ripped and threadbare from all the fighting, and they are so
exhausted that they bend over as they walk. The man that breathed the mustard gas is in such
incredible pain that all he can do is jerk about as if he were on fire. After a while, the gas causes his
face to sag until he resembles something from the horrors of hell. The speaker s similes are ones that
cause the reader to stop and just think about what is being described

Love And Death Be Not Proud By Anne Bradstreet
Love and death is very meaningful to humans. Love and death are eternal, above and beyond physical
entities, and extremely powerful . The poems Death be not proud, by E.E. Cummings, and To My
Dear and Loving Husband, by Anne Bradstreet, are poems that explain love or death. The poems are
very similar despite one being about love and the other being about death. Death and love are very
comparable despite their obvious differences. Love creates a pleasant image, while death creates an
eerie image. Despite the images having the opposite emotions, the meanings behind the words are
very similar.. Love and death create a deeper meaning than humans can comprehend.
Love and death are comparable, because they both are eternal and can go on forever. The entities can
never ultimately die. In the poem by John Donne, he says, One more sleep past, ... Show more content

Everyday, love and death control the way people act. They affect the way people will always make
decisions, In the poem by Donne, he states. Death be not proud, though some have called thee /
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so (1 2). This means that some people believe that death is very
powerful and also scary. Death being scary makes death so powerful. People are scared of the
consequences of dying and try to avoid dying everyday. Death is more feared than loved is, but people
make irrational decisions for love. Likewise, love is very powerful. In the poem by Bradstreet, she
states that, If two were one, then surely we / If ever man were loved by a wife, then thee (1 2). This
explains that Bradstreet s love for her husband is powerful and that they are like one. She states that
she loves him as much as a woman can love a man. This demonstrates how mighty love by saying that
she will do anything for her husband. Love and death are so powerful that they change people thought
and even their ways of life. Love and death are influential on the life and control people s

Ambition In Macbeth Essay
The main reason that Macbeth behaves as he does throughout most of the play is because of his
Ambitious Nature. Macbeth (the play s protagonist) was a brave Scottish nobleman who fought
against the Norwegians who were invading Scotland. After the battle Macbeth was given the title as
the new Thane of Cawdor by Duncan (King of Scotland). This was not the start of his growing
ambition. Prophecies and Lady Macbeth causes Ambition which leads to the effects of Macbeth s
actions throughout the course of the play. The first cause of Macbeth s behavior throughout the course
of the play starts when he comes across three witches. (The three witches are the antagonist of the
play, they symbolize the theme of appearance vs. reality). The three witches ... Show more content on

Macbeth says Will all great Neptune s ocean wash this blood clean from my hands? No, this my hand

out about Duncan, this resulted in having to kill Banquo, who started to get suspicious about the
murder of the king. Macbeth killing Banquo added an extra consequence of guilt which turns him
insane. Later on Macbeth decides to go see the three witches a second time, this is where the three
apparitions come into play. The witches say a spell Double, double toil and trouble;/ Fire burn, and
cauldron bubble. These famous apparitions foretell Macbeth s bloody fate. Macbeth begins to feel
relief after hearing what the witches have to say. Macbeth feels as though he is untouchable. The
witches continue to speak, they tell Macbeth that he should beware Macduff. When he finds out that
Macduff had fled to England, Macbeth takes revenge on Macduff by killing his family. In the end a
battle occurs to take down Macbeth. Macduff does what he needs to do and kills Macbeth by

Southern Patagonian Ice Field Essay
The Patagonian Ice Field stretches from the Argentine lakes to the Chilean fjords. The northern part of
the ice cap is entirely in Chile while the southern ice cap is shared by both Argentina and Chile. It is
made up of around forty seven glaciers that are formed at high altitudes. The glacier covers around
16,800 km² (6,800 mi²) (Willis). It stretches across the southern Andes, measuring nearly 220 miles
(355 km) long and 30 miles (48 km) wide. The remaining ice is from the previous Ice Age,(18,000
17,500 years ago) (Jacob). During this time all of southern Chile and Argentina was covered in a thick
sheet of ice. The ice field is considered by some to be the eighth wonder of the world. At one point the
glacier was advancing at around two meters per day, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The glacier is split up into the Southern and Northern Patagonia ice field. The Patagonia Ice fields are
very unique because they are able to exist today because of their extraordinary and specific location.
They are unique in the sense that they are at a high elevation and the climate they are in is cool and
moist (Rivera, Benham, Casassa, Bamber, Dowdeswell).. The Southern Patagonian Ice Field is highly
important to scientists and geologists at the moment because there are two volcanoes called Lautaro
and Viedma hidden under it. Little to nothing is known about this volcano because it is in such a
remote location hidden underneath the glacier, making it very hard to access. The imposing ice mass is
surrounded by forests and mountains, which contributes to it being one of the most visited attractions
in Chile and Argentina. It is also one of the most accessible glaciers in the world making it a big
attraction for most tourists and visitors. The glacier see s its most visitors when the glacier is about to
calve which happens most over the summer seasons when the climate is

Abbey Road Analysis
MUS107 Everybody has seen the iconic image of the Beatles walking single file across the crosswalk
of Abbey Road. The image, taken from the cover of the album Abbey Road, is far from being the most
revered aspect of the album. Abbey Road was the eleventh album produced by The Beatles, and the
last one recorded with all original members in the same studio. The album is considered by many to be
one of the best of all time, with Rolling Stone Magazine ranking it 14th out of 500. Abbey Road was
the last hurrah of the Beatle s amazing legacy, as the band had essentially broken up by the end of the
70s. The Beatles, along with Abbey Road changed the world of rock music, which is why it is still
important to listen to the album today. This essay will discuss the reactions to several songs from the
album. Come Together is the first song listed on the album, which was released in 1969. The song
followed a similar progression to a typical song structure: intro verse chorus verse chorus verse solo
outro. The bass plays an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It seems like the Beatles simply sat down and had fun with it, as opposed to setting up an agenda.
Some of the songs don t sound like they belong together on the same album at all. Octopus s Garden
and Here Comes the Sun are lighthearted, fun songs, while I Want You (She s so Heavy) and
Something are much more serious. The Beatles also experimented with the song structure in some of
their pieces, forgoing a chorus completely and singing verses all the way through. The album seriously
speaks to the complexity that was the history of the Beatles . This was created after a great deal of
drug use, which gave the group more experiences and perspectives to write from. The band added
even more elements by experimenting with a full orchestra on some of their songs. Overall, the album
gave me further perspective in to the history of the Beatles , and I enjoyed listening to it all the way

How Did Franklin D Roosevelt On The Four Freedoms
In Chapter 22, The United States of America president Franklin D. Roosevelt presented the Four
Freedoms to the society on January 6, 1941. The four freedom helped inspire Americans into
patriotism. Roosevelt believe that these four fundamental freedoms are the main freedoms that
everyone around the world should have no matter where they are and that they should be able to fully
exercise and enjoy their freedoms. On page 188 it stated, Freedom means the supremacy of human
rights everywhere. This short statement emphases the important of freedom in America and that
everyone should have freedom in this country. This statement not only expressed the important value
of freedom in America but, also around the whole world; without freedoms, there are no human rights.

  • 2. Cleats Descriptive Writing Seeing my cleats you would naturally think that they are worn by an average athlete unconcerned with style. The first thing noticeable is how the cleats were originally white, but have turned a yellowish brownish color like fading summer grass. The right cleat s lace is torn on the end, so I had to even out the laces to be able to tie them. The left shoe has a black broken hair tie, knotted 5 times at the bottom of the lace. It was my girlfriend s before it broke and she let me have it for some extra luck. The once clear , rubber spikes on the bottom had now turned brown and opaque, worn down to about the length of a fingernail. The covering near the toe of the shoe was beginning to rip off, so you could see a light brown rough fabric that structured the cleat. Even though they re ugly, worn out, and ready to be tossed into the trash, these cleats gave me the best two seasons of my life: one season of lacrosse, which turned out to be the season that led to a chance for me to commit to the college of my dreams, and one season of ... The bottom of the cleats had some dirt stuck in the creases and a small ant pile of turf pellets under my heel. Tombstone Film Analysis Tombstone The Wild West, following the civil war, and even after reconstruction, was a place filled with surprising and fascinating characters, including the well known and quite stereotypical character of the western cowboy. Though not all cowboys are presented in a bad or harsh manner, some, including the ones in George P. Cosmatos gritty and bloody shoot em up western film, are. While some may be dubious of the apparent luck and skill of some of the gunmen such as Doc Holliday and Wyatt Earp, many of the gunfights did have real witnesses, rendering them real. The film is extremely accurate, and George P. Cosmatos made sure of it, lining the streets and towns in the movie with dusty, sandy, dirty people, period style horses and carriages and amazing costume design. Even the fast moving gunfight at the O.K. Corral is portrayed almost completely historically. The film afforded only a few occasions when continuity and story progression was deemed more important than historical accuracy. The technical aspects as well, such as the cinematography, hearty gunshots by the sound design crew, and editing make Tombstone a very action packed and fun to watch movie ... Their acting was not only great, but also fairly historical. Even though each actor was sure to bring his own style to the character he/she was playing, it does not diminish accuracy of the characters, and most likely adds to the enjoyment of the film as a whole as each character had some stellar lines, such as Doc Holliday s, I m your huckleberry and, I ll be a daisy if ya ... The Battle Of Defending The Red Army Essay The date is August 15, 1942. 19 year old Alexei Petrov has been on edge for the last two days as German forces continue to siege the city of Stalingrad. Alexei and 100,000 other soldiers of the Red Army are tasked with the arduous mission of defending the city at all costs. Joseph Stalin has ordered a no retreat policy, and made it clear that it is paramount to win the siege of Stalingrad. It has been a year and a few months since the Germans invaded the Soviet Union and it seems as though nothing could exacerbate the German advance. Alexei Petrov was born May 28, 1923, to a family of 2 sisters in St. Petersburg. His father was a shopkeeper and his mother was a secretary. His family was not wealthy, nor insolvent. A year and a half earlier, Alexei was working in his father s shop and was his apprentice. He was a tall, muscular young man who was very athletic. Also, he had pale skin, with light blue eyes, and dark brown hair. Alexei was an erudite young man, with a promising future. Alexei had morals and was an honest young adult. He had no ambition of joining the army as he did not condone killing a human being. However, in the summer of 1941, he was drafted just as most men his age were. He had been fighting on the front lines for almost a year and had witnessed more tragedy than anyone should have to in his/her whole life. Jon Krakauer, a writer from Outside magazine, was there to witness the events and soon after write the book, Into Thin Air, chronicling the disaster. Jon Krakauer is not only the writer and narrator of Into Thin Air but is also one of the main characters. Originally Outside Magazine planned to send Krakauer to Everest in order for him to write a story for the magazine. He even admits to his relative inexperience with high altitude saying, Truth be told, I d never been higher than 17,200 feet not even as high as Everest Base Camp (28). Krakauer also mentions how he has gotten out of shape over the years partially because of the lack of climbing in his life, making him even less prepared for the assent. Krakauer shows a definite fear of such a high mountain, referring to climbers who have perished in the past. He states that, Many of those who died had been far stronger and possessed vastly more high altitude experience than I. (28). Even though Krakauer s experience may be more relevant to the Everest assent than some of the other tourist climbers, it is nowhere near the level needed to be considered an elite climber. One of the most important qualities that an elite climber must have is leadership. The elite climbers and guides must be able to meet a number of new people that are strangers to each other and build some sense of a team. Krakauer does not have a strong background in leading groups or building comradery, which is key for a climb like Everest. • 11. Comparative Analysis Between Three Different Curricula Comparative Analysis between Three Different Curricula: Te Whāriki, New Zealand Curriculum (2007) and Reggio Emilia The history of early childhood in New Zealand Aotearoa is not as extensive as countries such as the United Kingdom though, does not mean it is not complicated. Aotearoa s history of early childhood education (ECE) is deeply entangled within social, cultural and political contexts. These contexts have shaped the mandated and chosen curriculums of ECE today (Duhn, 2009). The 1980 s was a significant era that had fundamental influences on curriculums such as Te Whāriki (1996) and New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) (2007). Within this era, education and care was transformed as the government (of the day) were persuaded to invest more in ECE. This transformation was guided by an ideological shift, hence becoming the period of governmental and economic reform (May, 2004). Anne Meade (1989) depicted Aotearoa to the international community as in the midst of knitting a new early childhood sweater (cited in May 2004, p. 203), in other words, a new curriculum. Reports helped the knitting of the new curriculum through its political pathways. The Education to be More report (Meade Report) described a progressive framework for ECE development focusing on achieving high quality ECE (May, 2004). It strived to make all policies across the ECE sector equally important as primary, secondary and tertiary education. However, The Bailey Report requested that the government ... This notion sounds like a good idea initially; however, what will the repercussions of raising the minimum wage most likely look like? Their paws leaning against the glass, they re begging us to take them home and out of an impulse, some people occasionally do. Taking a puppy home and introducing it to its new environment is usually associated with great joy. Their clumsy behavior, wagging tails, and curious noses make everyone smile, and you don t have to be a dog lover to fall for these big puppy eyes. What a lot of people don t know when they purchase a puppy at a pet store, however, is that the little dog might have spent its first few weeks in a large breeding facility where dogs are bred for sole profit, commonly known as a puppy mill. Although the USDA, the United States Department of Agriculture, has laws in place to keep these animals safe, the housing and husbandry standards are often barely minimal, leading to suffering puppies and breeding females with terrible health concerns, as well as psychological traumas. Introduction Our earthly habitat is not an unexpected occurrence of little worth, but rather, it is one to be highly valued and preserved. The biblical doctrine of creation helps the Christian to understand the true significance of the world in order to deal with the environmental crisis. The Bible says, For thus saith the Lord that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited... We cannot exploit the land and suck it dry of all of its natural resources. To be a steward is to manage the property of another; that means to care for it and use it properly, not exploit or abuse the resources of the master. On the other hand, we are not to revere or worship the earth as God s creation to the point where we fail to subdue it. God commands us to have dominion over the animal kingdom and to subdue the earth (Genesis 1:28). Pro environmental groups like Deep Ecology believe that humans have an obligation to themselves and the environment as well. They believe that all forms of life have the right to exist, and that humans aren t any different from other species. They basically say that humans are equal to other species. ( Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy ). This is the sin that Saint Paul refers to: Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever (King James Version, Romans 1:25). Just as it is a sin to ruthlessly exploit the earth and its resources for greedy gain, so too is it a sin to revere the earth as an object of worship. We must walkout a balance between worship and exploitation, and that is where the stewardship model comes in. These seemingly simple bonds between people can amount to so much and cause such commotion that lives change drastically within minutes in these relationships. Especially in the fast changing world of today. In my piece I am going to be telling you about the three types of relationships I see taking place. Over time, I have asked myself three questions, finding the answers along the way, which is what I will be explaining to you. To begin, how much does one compromise on self gratification for the sake of commitment? Or should one compromise at all in the name of love? Finally, what happens when love is found outside ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Compromising in the name love is just wrong to do; whatever the circumstances. This sort of actions you would find in arranged marriages and usually it is the female that has to make this compromise and suffer. A classic example of this type of relationship can be seen in arranged marriages in Indian families, but these are not limited for Indian families in India; these can still be seen in American or other parts of the world where Indian or Muslim families reside. Only true love can set them free of this compromise but it just ends up in a big blunder because it would create a lot of friction and pose a lot of questions. When someone truly loves, they expect to have it back in return. Not an act. Lastly, what happens when love is found outside ones commitment? This to me is a sad thing but also a happy thing when it is dealt with maturely and with much understanding. Regarding my earlier points; imagine in this compromise that is made. It takes a true person to understand when love is found outside a relationship by the compromising partner. Although the other party is strongly in love with this person, they would understand that this was not their love story after all and should be happy that their partner found theirs. Yes it is a sad thing to happen in a relationship, but when one understands the meaning of true love only then they can let go without any qualms. In conclusion I would ... • 32. Metal Reactivity Series Lab 2015 Teaghan Hignett March 15, 2015 Mr. Cho SCH3U Metal Reactivity Series Lab 2015 Question: What is the relative reactivity of aluminum, potassium, copper, iron and hydrogen? Introduction: This lab will introduce several key concepts surrounding metal reactivity as well as electronegativity and periodic trends on the periodic table. Electronegativity by definition is a measure of the tendency of an atom to attract a bonding pair of electrons. In a bond between atoms in a molecule, the atom that is more electronegative will attract the bonded pair of electrons closer to it s own nucleus. Reactivity refers to how vigorously or the likelihood of a element to react with other elements or substances. Electronegativity can be used to determine the reactivity of a substance as well as using ionization energy (how easily electrons can be removed from an outer shell). This lab will allow us to look into the relative reactivity of metals. Relative reactivity means the reactivity scale in order of decreasing reactivity between the 5 metals chosen above. The tests that allow us to build a reactivity series for metals use Single Displacement Reactions. When performing these tests, the substances will only react if substance A is more reactive than substance B. If no reaction occurs than substance B is more reactive that A. This happens because A and B are cations and the X is what will bind with either A or B and X is also a anion. Anions will only switch cations if it benefits them ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A good LAN network must easily expand as the business grows, even if the scale of the original environment is small. Avoid making technology judgments that might limit the company as it grows. I will deal with the physical and logical design of a LAN by building a network in a test laboratory, consisting of computers, an Appliance Security Appliance (ASA) 5505 firewall and switches. Network will consist of Fiber Optic Cable Modem, Nodes, Communication Media, Networking Devices A security policy will be in place, or updated to reflect the goals of the company. Redundant Firewalls with VPNle Communication media (copper cable to connect to the internet, fiber cable) Switch: Switches connect multiple devices, including computers and printers, on the same network. Router is attached to a switch# routers connect a network to other networks, such as the Internet. They shield data from security threats using technologies such as firewalls and virtual private networks (VPNs). They can even decide which computers get preference over others. The German religious reformer Martin Luther wrote All heaviness of the mind and melancholy comes of the Devil. • 47. The Horror Of Horror Movies Essay Horror isn t a Single Genre You re sitting in a dark room with your eyes glues to the television screen, bowl of popcorn sitting loosely in your lap. On the screen is a dark shadowy figure chasing a woman throughout a house and watching this scene is making your heart pound out of your chest. This is the feeling you get when you typically watch a horror movie, you feel like you re about to explode due to the tension on screen. There are many subgenres of horror movies and it seems like most people lump them all in to one category, but today we won t be doing that. We will be touching on various subgenres of the horror universe: slasher films, body horror, giallo, and zombie films. Slasher films are frightfully delicious and when the genre comes to mind all I can think about is a super predictable good time! Slasher films are, as said by Sarah Trencansky, those horror movies that consist of a monster or maniac stalking and/or killing a succession of people, usually teenagers (64). I couldn t have said it better myself. The slasher genre is also riddled with a countless number of series such as the Hellraiser series, Nightmare on Elmstreet, and the most notable, The Halloween series. A great example would be from Halloween II when Michael Myers is on a killing spree inside of a desolate hospital late on Halloween night. One of the nurses goes out in the parking lot to leave only to discover that every vehicles tires have been slashed. The nurse then runs inside the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Horrors of War in Wilfred Owen s Poem, Dulce et Decorum Est From the earliest records of history, accounts of war have been portrayed as valiant acts of heroism. Children and adults alike have gathered together to hear tales of war and its glory. From the stories of Alexander the Great to recent day movies like Saving Private Ryan, war has been praised and exalted with words such as bravery, honor, and freedom. However, Wilfred Owen s poem Dulce et Decorum Est shows the ugly, horrible side of fighting. By use of gripping words and vivid descriptions, Owen paints incredible pictures of what World War I was really like. • 49. Love And Death Be Not Proud By Anne Bradstreet Love and death is very meaningful to humans. Love and death are eternal, above and beyond physical entities, and extremely powerful . The poems Death be not proud, by E.E. Cummings, and To My Dear and Loving Husband, by Anne Bradstreet, are poems that explain love or death. The poems are very similar despite one being about love and the other being about death. Death and love are very comparable despite their obvious differences. Love creates a pleasant image, while death creates an eerie image. Despite the images having the opposite emotions, the meanings behind the words are very similar.. People are scared of the consequences of dying and try to avoid dying everyday. Death is more feared than loved is, but people make irrational decisions for love. Likewise, love is very powerful. In the poem by Bradstreet, she states that, If two were one, then surely we / If ever man were loved by a wife, then thee (1 2).
