Watterson explores ideas of childhood innocence and imagination from the perspective of Calvin and

with a dream of a fictional Reverend Jabez Branderham and his surplus of sins. The dream almost
reads as incomprehensible at first glance, especially when wedged between Lockwood s visions of
Catherine Earnshaw, but the dream holds clout in the overarching tale of Wuthering Heights,
especially when taking its moral implications into consideration. To implement a biblical allusion in
one s text requires the understanding that, no matter what one intends to do with the material, it will
remain morally charged nonetheless. The material can be contorted or figured into a new message
altogether, but some moral proposition will certainly remain. In the case of Lockwood s dream, Brontë
s allusion to Peter and his interest in forgiveness are contorted to address what happens when the

Taking a Look at Four-Dimensionalism
Four dimensionalism is often seen in the field of metaphysics as a strong and sound solution to many
puzzles. Whether that s the Antinomy of Constitution, the Ship of Theseus, or the Paradox of Increase,
four dimensionalism always appears as a probable solution. But, four dimensionalism is not the all
powerful solution it appears to be at first glance. The theory itself has many repercussions if it is taken
to be true, leading me to dispute its overall validity. So what exactly is the four dimensional theory?
To begin, we must understand what the dimensions of our world are. We experience the first three
dimensions on a daily basis; namely, length, width, and height. These three dimensions are typically
referred to as the spatial dimensions. The next, fourth, dimension is then considered to be time. We
cannot specifically see time but we know that time is continually moving forward and we are subject
to its progression. Four dimensionalism then exclaims that objects consist of all four dimensions,
splitting objects into spatial and temporal parts. We see the spatial components when we look at an
object but the temporal component is harder to see. Essentially, the four dimensionalist believes that
an object is never wholly present at one instance in time but rather consists of the spatial components
and all of the temporal components. This is seen as the theory of perdurance and is accepted by four
