Definitions:
Rhetorical question: A question that does not require the reader to
answer
Repetition: Repeated words, phrases, sentence patterns or ideas
Rule of Three: Three words, ideas or sentences linked together to
emphasise a point
Imperative: A word that gives the audience an instruction or order e.g.
‘take that…’
Emotive Language: The use of language that carries strong emotions,
designed to play on the readers’ feelings
