CALICO 2015 ODOWD
UNICollaboration.eu is a platform developed by Robert O'Dowd to facilitate telecollaborative practice between universities. Students participated in activities to introduce their schools and cultures, share interests, and create videos and presentations. Over five months, students planned activities, communicated actively, helped each other, and provided feedback. By the end of the project, students appeared more confident speaking English and knowledgeable about collaboration tools like Padlet, GoAnimate, and Prezi.

Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) is a system of 17 colleges across United Arab Emirates. HCT is the largest higher education institution in UAE with enrollment above 18,000 students. HCT has been using Banner by Ellucian from the early 90s. HCT uses Student, HR, Finance, Advancement, Flexible Registration modules of Banner system wide. Banner is centrally hosted for all of HCT campuses connected via Ankabut links.
Over the previous several years HCT has created several enterprise applications around Banner to address the requirements of the institution. In this presentation we will discuss all the Enterprise Applications in use at HCT which integrate with Banner. We will also discuss some sample enterprise applications in detail and show how Banner works as a backbone for these applications.

Etwinning 2018 stories to be told
The project "Stories to be told" aims to develop students' creativity, moral values, and English language skills through creating and sharing children's stories. Students aged 14-16 worked independently and collaboratively with partner schools to research stories, translate them into English, illustrate them, and compile an e-book. The project integrated literature, language learning, art, and technology skills. It provided opportunities for students to improve their English, learn about other cultures, and develop 21st century competencies through collaborative online work and exchanges with international partners.
VLARINA - An eTwinning project 2012-13 (Greece-Serbia-Italy)
The Students participating in this project had the opportunity to meet fellow mates from other European (Mediterranean) countries and communicate with them via e-mail or via instant messaging. They developed friendly relations with each other and shared details about their daily lives, traditions, cultures, perceptions, ideas, lifestyle.Establishing a common point of view of the past, students explored how the Mediterranean Sea is still the bridge between different cultures and religions.
All students developed their English language vocabulary and skills. They also developed their intercultural skills, exchanged ideas, gifts and postcards and also made use of a variety of resources in order to upload powerpoint presentations, documents, files and images about their countries on twinspace.
Last but not least students familiarised themselves with working in a virtual environment, identified and discussed the challenges they face living and working in them. The most important thing is that they made new friends and they gained insights from online school collaborations which will be valuable and worth remembering a life time.
