Lego Brickumentary Analysis
The believe documentary over A LEGO brickumentary gives people across the world the opportunity
to express themselves using their imagination with the LEGO brick. As the film progressed, I could
see many different types of designs. I had absolutely no idea that designers across the world made this
their life. They use their imagination and make it out of LEGO bricks, instead of using the directions
on the back of the box. They took it and made it their own. What these people came up with and
created was extraordinary. I also had no idea LEGOs were such a deal to all sorts of ages and genders.
I thought LEGOs were only for children that are only boys, but they vary from young boys and girls
up to men and women. Even adults create different structures ... Show more content on

Some adults build structures for museums and types of jobs they have, but also others build for simple
fun and enjoyment of the LEGO brick. As for a particular builder during the movie made a musuem of
his sculptures to bring people from around the city to show off his artwork. He wanted this to be
portrayed as art rather than just him creating something to have fun. Another view can be on how to
use a LEGO brick. Many people think they have to do what is recommended by the directions that are
on the back of the box. As for others, that is not the case. Many use their creativity to make the a
creative structure in their minds. What some people do with their creativity, whatever they create can
be submitted to LEGO, and if they win out of the other competitors who create different types of
structures, then their product will be the next LEGO set produced. This brickumentary was very
interesting and brought me some enjoyment, and I was extremely drawn in on what this
brickumentary brought to me. I had no idea LEGO targeted all sorts of ages and genders. Since I was a
little kind I always thought LEGOs were just for children. It is funny how things change as you grow
older. The brickumentary showed that LEGO can bring happiness and relieve stress to many people
around the world. I had no idea that LEGO brought so much valuable interest to people of all ages. It
was very enjoyable to watch something I probably would have never picked on watching on my own.
I think LEGO is a great toy to anyone and

Informed Consent And Its Perilous Deception
Informed consent is the process by which a patient is fully informed about all aspects of their
healthcare and has the ability to participate in choices and make an apprise decision regarding their
care. It is the legal right of the patient to direct what happens to them and the ethical duty of the doctor
to involve the patient in their care. My final paper analyzes informed consent and its perilous
deception. I shall present three main points against informed consent by arguing the complexity of the
information given to the patient, the decision making process and lastly patient competency.
To begin, there are four important pieces of information that the physician must tell a patient to ensure
they are informed; the nature of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This study found that 69% of the participants failed to understand the meaning of randomization.
This type of misunderstanding increases with patients who have limited English proficiency. (p.3)
Who should be responsible to ensure that a patient understands what they are signing? As in all
relationships whether romantic, social, or physician patient there is a responsibility that each person
must have to secure a trusting rapport. In a physician patient relationship, a patient must uphold to
their responsibility of understanding their healthcare. They must be able to communicate their
concerns, voice misunderstanding, and educate themselves. If the counter argument of removing
informed consent is the fear of taking away a patient s autonomy then a patient placing their
understanding in the hands of the physician implies that informed consent is ineffective. Informed
consent foundation is built on the concept of a patient understanding the nature of a treatment or
procedure in order to consent to it.
Which leads me to my next argument of the decision making process. Corrigan writes There are a
number of contributions from medical sociology that draw attention to the complexities of decision
making, and render the medical encounter problematic by discussing the ways in which patients are
often dependent on medical expertise and advice. As stated previously informed consent essentially
relies on the physician patient

Master Harold and his Father in Athol Fugard s Master...
Master Harold and his Father in Athol Fugard s Master Harold
Master Harold is very similar to his father. Although Harold probably doesn t want to become like his
father, or think like him, he will grow up to be just like his father. When Harold gets involved into
arguments, only then does his fathers instincts kick in. Although Harolds father is never in the play, we
can learn a lot about him just by Harold and a single phone call. Harold inherited his fathers need for
power and control, his racism, hatred, and negative attitude.
Harold likes to be in control. In Harolds family situation, his fathers dominates his mother. For
instance when Harolds father made up his mind that he wanted to leave the hospital, ... Show more

Now between Harold and his father, his father dominates him easily. Because of this Harold may want
to feel like he?s somehow in control of something, and that?s why he treats Willie and Sam the way he
does. I think Harold loves Willie and Sam, like Harolds father loves his wife, but because Harolds
father is in control, Harold wants to feel somehow in control too.
Harold is prejudice against black people. Though he may not know it, or might not want to admit it,
Harold is racist. This is also another way Harold argues with Willie and Sam. He argues that because
Sam is black he doesn?t know as much as Harold or can?t learn anything to complex. He also argues
that he is far too civilized and well mannered to be hanging out with black people who are nothing
more than servants. Then again this just might be another excuse for Harold to win an argument. For
instance, Harold deliberately told Sam what he thought was a funny racist joke just to hurt Sams
feelings. Now this is a joke that Harold shared with his father, and this is how they spend their time
together, making prejudice jokes about black people. Harold became racist because of his father. Their
racist jokes are the only thing that brings them together. They make jokes about people who are less
then them so they can feel more dominate in society. It?s the only thing Harold knows of to make his
father happy. This also means that Harold and his father don?t

The Impact Of Transformative And Social Constructive...
Nursing education is designed to offer students the opportunity to become practitioners who are able
to connect theories into practice in ways that result in quality patient care. Consequently, Nurse
Educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for the role of the graduate nurse,
including not only the theoretical foundations of practice but the technical skills and performance
behaviors necessary for their role in caring for patients with complex needs (Klein, 2006). Moreover,
educators often apply a variety of learning theories that foster behavioral change, motivate and
empower the nurse to form appropriate partnership with patients to promote quality care. Partnership
in care shifts the focus to the patient as the expert and leader of his/her own health care while the
nurse acts as a facilitator of health care. The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze how the
application of transformative and social constructive learning theories impacts adult learning
outcomes; and the resultant role in guiding nurses and patients to forge an effective partnership in
care.
Transformative Learning Theory
Jack Mezirow is credited for developing transformative learning theory. This theory maintains that the
manner in which learners understand their sense and skills is vital in developing meaning that supports
learning (Instructionaldesign.org, 2014). According to Mezirow s theory, there are two types of
learning: communicative and instrumental learning. While

Nsa Is The Spying Ofu.s Citizens
The National Security Agency (NSA) has been an information gathering arm of the Executive branch
since the Cold War and continues to be an essential part of ensuring the security of the United States.
The public issue that involves the NSA is the spying of U.S citizens which can be seen as a violation
of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This was revealed to the public by the
whistleblower Edward Snowden who released classified documents of activities that the NSA had
been conducting in conjuncture with telecommunication companies, which angered many U.S citizens
and received media coverage with a call for the U.S Government to restrict the NSA s activities or at
least for there to be Congressional oversight. This debate revolves around how much the NSA s
surveillance activities are actually used for national security as well as the constitutionality of the NSA
s surveillance. This all began after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 when there was a call
for the attacks to never happen again and the adoption of the Patriot Act in that same year which
increased the power of the NSA.
The National Security Agency over the past few years was revealed to have spied on American
citizens under what can be considered illegal or unconstitutional circumstances which sparked concern
and outrage across most of America. This was first recognized in 2013 when the whistleblower
Edward Snowden or traitor as the United States government considers him, leaked

New Plymouth Colony Research Paper
The most devastating war between the colonists and Indians took place in New England in 1676 and
ended in 1676. Metacomet, also known as King Philip, was the son of Chief Massasoit, who was a
principal leader of the Wampanoag in the early 1600 s; a tribe in North America that existed in
America long before the Europeans arrived. He is also known as Metacom, Metacomet or Pometacom,
names that he was given by the Wampanoag tribe. Pilgrims who arrived on the Mayflower, a ship that
transported the first English separatists, founded the Plymouth colony at New Plymouth. This
settlement that occurred in 1620 served as the capital of the colony and occupied the southeastern
portion of what is now known as Massachusetts. Besides Jamestown and other settlements in Virginia,
the Plymouth colony was one of the earliest successful colonies to be founded by the British. The
colony went great lengths and traveled long distances to establish a friendship with Chief Massasoit to
help ensure the colony s success. Gifts were exchanged and Chief Massasoit gave his sons English
names to show respect for each other. King Philip tried to maintained peace for a number of years with
the colonist, but after he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

More than 1,000 colonists and 3,000 Native Americans had died and most survivors either joined the
western or northern tribes as captives or tribal members. The English colonists were unable to

Warriors Don t Cry Essay
In her memoir Warriors Don t Cry, Melba Pattillo Beals describes her experiences as she became one
of the first nine black students educated in an integrated white school. She and her friends, who
became known as the Little Rock Nine , elicited both support and criticism from their family
members, friends, community members, military troops, in addition to the President of the United
States. Melba s experiences, while heartbreaking and sobering, highlight the strength to overcome that
individuals can have over a system intent on keeping them down. Throughout her experience, Melba s
views and attitudes changed quite a bit. When she first volunteered to be one of the first black students
who would attend Central High School in Little ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the year, Melba developed a warrior mentality in order to make it through each day. She
became so fixated on surviving that she focused on little else during the school day. She also took the
advice of her Grandma India and smiled in the face of her attackers. She applied the phrase kill them
with kindness , which confused many of her attackers, which seemed to temporarily lessen the
severity and frequency of their attacks. After her year as a Central High student was over and she was
able to reflect upon her experiences, Melba came to the conclusion that the adults that watched the
white children torment and abuse she and her friends were simply afraid. They were afraid of change.
They were afraid that the social structure that placed them above blacks was going to crumble, leaving
them at the mercy of people who they ve kept down for so long. Most of all, Melba learned they were
afraid that once blacks started going to the same school as their children, they may begin to date,
marry and make families with their children. The two individuals who did the most to help Melba
survive while she was inside Central High School were Danny and Link. Danny served as Melba s
personal bodyguard for the initial months that integration was implemented in Little Rock. Danny was
a very important figure in Melba s school life because he represented safety and protection. Although
his motives were not altruistic because he was simply a soldier

Cultural Attitudes Regarding Social Policy
Cultural attitudes regarding social policy often change with time. One of the best ways to analyze the
changing culture of a society is by examining the progression of its laws. The laws governing
marijuana have varied widely throughout the history of the United States. Tracking the path of laws
regarding marijuana is a demonstrable example of social change; those laws having gone from one
extreme to the other and back. There has been a fundamental change in cultural attitude regarding the
legalization of marijuana. Examples of this shift can be seen by examining the history of marijuana
before it was illegal, why the laws changed to make in illegal (even a felony), the change in attitude,
the racial aspect, modern legislation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hemp was allowed to be exchanged as legal tender in Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Maryland (2) .
Following the Mexican revolution of 1910, Mexican immigrants flocked to the U.S. and introduced
the recreational use of cannabis by smoking its leafs. They called the substance marijuana. The fear
and prejudice about the Mexican immigrants became associated with marijuana. Anti marijuana
campaigns were initiated in the 1920s for many reasons. Newspaper industry executive, William
Randolph Hearst, felt threatened that the supply of hemp, which was a cheaper and stronger fiber than
paper, would undercut paper prices. Hearst, in addition to being a newspaper executive, had financial
holdings in timber, the main component of paper. He used negative propaganda published in his
newspapers to create public fear. The claim that Mexicans were committing crimes and attributing it to
their marijuana use was a result of the propaganda, shifting the cultural attitude against marijuana. By
the 1930s. unemployment caused by the Great Depression, increased the outrage toward the Mexican
immigrants, as they usurped ever shrinking number of American jobs. The fact that the Mexicants
were associated with marijuana use resulted in a negative public impression. In 1936 the infamous anti
marijuana movie Reefer Madness was released. The film depicts a group of teenagers smoking
marijuana and proceeding to do mischievous acts from a hit and run accident, to manslaughter,
suicide,

The Fall Of The Handmaids Tale
1. In the beginning of The Handmaids Tale, there are 3 quotations that form the front piece of the book
and insight the readers into the important aspects of the book. And when Rachel saw that she bare
Jacob no children... This quotation resembles how important it was to give children. That if Rachel
gave no children she might as well die, Give me children or else I die . This quotation sets the theme
for infertility. Rachel allows Jacob to get the maid pregnant because she wants to claim the children as
her own. The desire for children is put above any other sin committed, such as this version of adultery.
The reason for this quotation in the book is to imply that these actions will be taken in The Handmaids
Tale. The second quotation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That you shouldn t do something like breed women and take away every aspect of their lives and

right from wrong and that somethings are just not meant to be done. 2. Costumes and colors symbolize
the roles of handmaids, wives, commanders, etc. Handmaids are forced to wear red dresses that cover
all aspects of their body. The color red symbolizes fertility, which is very important for handmaids to
have. It also represents the blood of the menstrual cycle and childbirth, everything except the wings
around my face is red: The colour of blood which defines us. Therefore, red identifies the role of a
handmaid as a child bearer for the wives. Wives can be identified by their clothes and where they sit in
meetings .The costumes the wives wear are usually more flattering and more fitted and always blue.
Blue is a royal color which can represent that the wives have a high status which is why their clothes
are blue and more regal. Blue is also seen as a frigid color and that can represent the actions of the
wives to the handmaids. The roles of the wives are to help the handmaids get pregnant but they
despise them instead. It s not the husbands you have to watch out for, said Aunt Lydia, it s the Wives.
You should always try to imagine what they must be feeling. Of course they will resent you. It is only

The Old Testament Prophets
Introduction: Haggai is the prophet that tethers the Old Testament Prophets to second temple Judiasm
and New Testament Christianity. The man himself is covered in mystery and intrigue. Who is this
prophet that comes on the scene and vanishes as fast as he appears? The context is in a time when the
Israelites are back in the land YWHW promised, yet things feel much different. The temple is not yet
in construction and the Judeans are having trouble with the indigenous Samaritans. Haggai has a
challenge, but he is just the man for the job, and YWH has called him for just the time as this. Haggai
The person: Little is known of the prophet Haggai. The name Haggai means feast of Yahweh or by
contraction, Hagariah means Yahweh hath girded. This leads scholars to believe that he was born on a
feast day. Another theory is that the writer of the book recorded Haggai s prophecies later, and like
Malachi, gave him a nickname because he prophesied on feast days. He prophesied for a very short
time. Haggai 1:15 record the dates of Haggai s prophetic ministry. He prophesied in the Second year
of King Darius (521 486), in the year 520 from August 29th to December 18th. These 15 short weeks
make up one of the smallest prophetic ministries in the prophetic books. We also know Haggai existed
through other biblical and extra biblical sources. The book of Ezra contains passages mentioning
Haggai initiating the reconstruction of the temple (Ezra 5:1, Ezra 6:14 15). He is documented in

Analysis Of The Book Gates By Paul Andrews And Stephen...
Choice Book Essay Recently, I read the book Gates, how Microsoft s mogul reinvented an industry

of MS DOS, our ancient overlord. This book told the secret life of the ruler of the entire technology
industry all the way to present day. The main author is one of my favorites, since he wrote many
articles on PC world, and gave a somewhat honest review of Windows Vista, of course after Microsoft
fired one of their top software engineers. Stephen Manes was even mentioned on the Personal
Computers columnist for the Science Times section of the New York Times, and another on

Bailiff Research Paper
A Bailiff or a court official, would never have a boring day on the job. They do require a decent
education to better their chances of finding a job. The education requirements vary depending on
employer, jurisdiction and state. Most of the training is on the job and do not absolutely require a
degree. To become a bailiff you need to be aware of local laws, have self defence, first aid
certification, and know how to handle weapons (Career Cruising, 2018). However, having some kind
of criminal justice or law enforcement background education will significantly help. Michigan s top

$33,200 annually which is $15.96 an hour. As an experienced bailiff they can make $41,210 or $19.81

We Grow Accustomed To The Walk
People have different types of lifestyle, personality, thoughts, careers, and choices, but in the world,
there are only a few people who have similar thoughts, ideas, and a passion for writing such as Emily
Dickinson and Robert Frost. These poets express their emotions and feelings, in their poems. In this

Snowy Evening, the history of the authors, and their similarities and differences. Dickinson was born

Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost wrote many poems about their emotions and the darkness that they
faced or in their childhood or adult life. Dickinson writes about darkness because she always stayed in
her house; she did not leave her house and she did not see the light of the sky in her life (Tredell). We
Grow Accustomed to the Dark, by Emily Dickinson, is about the darkness and hopelessness. This
poem has a deeper meaning about people who have to face all kinds of struggle or problems in their
life. The poet writes, When light is put away As when the Neighbor holds the Lamp (Dickinson We
Grow, 2 3). This means that sometimes it s tough to solve a problem, but there is always hope to solve
any kind of problem. All kinds of struggle can help one to learn about the struggle and also to get
experiences to solve these problems or struggles again in the future. Acquainted with the Night, by
Robert Frost, is about a person who is walking alone in the rain. He is approached by a cop
(watchman) and the speaker looks down and walks away from a cop. The author mentions, And
dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain (Frost Acquainted, 6). This quote means that speaker does not
make eye contact with the cop because he does not want to explain to the cop what he is doing outside
at the night time. I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet. When far away an interrupted cry
(Frost Acquainted, 7 8) this quote explains while the speaker is walking, he hears, someone crying in
one of the houses on the street. But not to call me back or say good bye (Frost Acquainted, 10) this
explains that the speaker does not want to see who is crying; however; he ignores that crying sound
and walks away from it. I have looked down the saddest city lane (Frost Acquainted, 4) this proves
that the speaker in the poem is very depressed. The speaker is lonely or maybe the speaker is

Characters Of A Dog In The Golden Compass, By Philip Pullman
Three years ago, my family adopted a dog. I ending up being the one who was most reluctant to
making the final decision and still was even after he had entered our family. I was the one who
thought of all the negatives for we don t need a dog incorporated into our busy lives. For the first few
weeks I did not like this dog, and the dog new it. Over time, I started to relate and bond with this dog.
I saw how he was different, he did not act like a normal dog of his breed, different from the rest. I find
the same thing in myself in my family, not like the others, but were both of us are still included and
loved. Now, the dog that I didn t want and I are closer than any of my other family members are with
him. In the novel The Golden Compass, the author Philip Pullman develops a similar type of
relationship for each of his characters called daemons. These companions reflect a certain person s
identity, soul, and changes in feeling through their different forms, usually as animals. I am being
considered for Mr. Pullman s next novel and he has asked me to develop daemons of my own for the
next book in his series. After a few days of thinking I have decided on three animals that would be a
great representation of me in daemon form, an owl, a lemur, and a butterfly. Throughout my academic
career I have tended to be a good student who got excellent in elementary school and straight A s in
middle school. So what better daemon to have than owl to represent this side of me. I tend to have the
ability to understand concepts and make them concrete easily when explained complete and
thoroughly. This form of myself not only comes during school work but any time that I have to be
analytical. One place that I have to show my thinking is on the tennis court, a sport that I play year
round. Tennis is very much a mind game and at my higher level of play, I am forced to compete more
and more strategically while also maintaining my consistent fundamental skills. This means observing
what your opponents weakness is and applying it to the match so swing it into your favor. Placement,
direction, speed, spin, are all things that need to be considered during every point. My owl is not only

Secrets can be a dangerous part of survival. Kim has been bringing home extra food rations from the

states, I slowly lifted off the top. My hand reached in and took out a handful of uncooked rice and
quickly shoved it into my hungry mouth before anyone woke up and made me put it back (Ung 90).
Everyone in the family needs more food; however, Loung makes this difficult decision to steal rice

she stole could be the decision between life and death for Loung; she was able to make a difficult
decision like this because she has to think about her well being. This is not fair to everyone because
they do not know who takes the rice, but Loung fends for herself and takes the rice and lives with this

Impressive Benefits Of Organic Sulfur
hat if I told you there is a miracle mineral that strengthens immunity, fights the effects of stress and
pain, increases energy levels, improves skin complexion, and provides allergy relief? Would you be
interested? If yes, then you are in the right place.
Did you know Organic Sulfur is the third most abundant mineral in the human body and is absolutely
essential for health? It is one of the basic building blocks of life and is essential in maintaining our
health.
Organic Sulfur Benefits 23 Surprisingly Impressive Benefits
1. Organic Sulfur works like chelation therapy.
Organic sulfur is one of the most powerful and effective solutions for detoxifying the entire body
because it oxygenates your cells, alkalizes your blood and removes toxins and heavy metals that lead
to cellular malfunction and disease (Clark).
Organic sulfur can easily bind with most toxins to form a sulfate, such as mercury sulfate, lead sulfate,
barium sulfate, arsenic sulfate, aluminum sulfate, strontium sulfate, etc., By bonding with all the toxic
heavy metals, Organic Sulfur can safely chelate and remove these toxic metals from our bodies. Sulfur
does not bind to iodine, which is a good thing (Parcell).
2. It helps with allergies, asthma, and emphysema.
Sulfur helps all the cells in the body to work better and keep the system clean by binding to mucous
membranes and forming a natural block against allergens. Thus leading to a reduction or elimination
of allergies.
It helps alleviate emphysema

F. 30 Insomnia Case Study Student
Mr. M, a 54 year old man is taken to a sleep disorder facility for examination of daytime somnolence
and insomnia. He has been battling with anxiety and depression, a disorder he is being treated with.
He reports that he has been suffering from Insomnia for several years and only turned worse about 7
years ago. He is troubled with sleep initiation, which usually takes him over one hour to fall asleep. As
soon as he is asleep, he wakes up several times, which makes him to struggle again to go back to
sleep. He turns in bed without sleep until dawn when he gets up feeling fatigued and drained. The
major diagnosis is DSM 5 insomnia disorder. Given the comorbid indications of obstructive sleep
apnea and depression, it would perhaps be hard to assess whether Mr. M has DSM IV primary
insomnia since DSM 5 enables the clinician to generate an unpremeditated attribution between
obstructive sleep disorder and insomnia.

Death Penalty Pros And Cons
Opposing the Death Penalty When discussing the death penalty and its pros and cons, this subject can
quickly become very controversial. Can one really believe that an individual can commit a crime so
wicked that they should be put to death by another individual? The death penalty or capital
punishment is defined as a government sanctioned practice where a person is sentenced to death by
the state as a punishment for a crime. I oppose the death penalty, it should be put to an end and
terminated because the actual applications for the death penalty is random and capricious, the death
penalty violates the eighteenth amendment of the United States constitution, and even the guilty
should have the right to life.
The Death Penalty and Similar Crimes
To begin with, the death penalty should be terminated because the actual applications for the death
penalty is random, and capricious. In other words, the death penalty system here in the United States
is applied in an unfair manner. According to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), the death
penalty system is an unjust method against people because it is largely dependent on how much
income and money the individual has, the intellectual skills of their attorneys, the victim s race and or
ethnicity and exactly where the crime took place. It is proven that people of color is executed more
compared to white people, more so if the victim is white. Innocent people are often executed by the
state. Over one hundred and fifty six

This is fitting with the rest of the narrator s description of these times. The closeness of mother and
son, the evenings usually ending with the boy in his mother s arms while she croon [s} some old
melody without words (5). The narrator notes during these times, his mother would look into the fire
with great dark eyes, ...to where? No one knew but her (5). This image personifies a surreal moment
when music takes the heart and mind to another time and place. The two were in harmony with each
other, he forming the background of her existence while she lived each day in a pleasing manner of
daily routine and motherly instruction. From this the narrator takes the reader through the
development of his attachment to the art form. His talent, which expanded during his young childhood
and the early thumping on the piano, evolved into his adulthood styling of ragtime. His early
instruction happened in the form of a woman and her daughter, each of whom taught the young
narrator in music and in general education. This formed a basic foundation in the fundamentals of
music which enabled the narrator to build his musical repertoire. Later and with the aid of a new
instructor, the label of infant prodigy was used to describe the level of talent in possession of the
narrator (18). The author employs much into the descriptions of the narrator s early development in
music and his training, not only in hymns and old melodies, but in the classics also.

Impacting Global Health
Global health has always been an issue. There are always disease outbreaks, natural disasters, and
countries who do not have access to the resources they need. For years, people have been working to
get urgent medical care to people who need it most, and also to educate them about basic health and
hygiene. There have been many organizations and partnerships who have contributed to the
advancement of global health, but the one that stands out the most is the World Health Organization.
The World Health Organization has impacted global health by who they are and what they do, what
emergencies they have dealt with, and the research they have done. The World Health Organization
was founded on April 7, 1948 in Geneva, Switzerland ( World Health Organization, World Health
Organization). They are part of the United Nations and about 193 nations are members ( World Health
Organization, Columbia Electronic Encyclopedia). They employ more than seven thousand people
with one hundred fifty offices across one hundred fifty countries ( World Health Organization, World
Health Organization). These people are anything from doctors, to economists, to administrators. The
WHO s primary goal is to promote the achievement of the highest possible level of health (Rogers).
The WHO defines health as the state of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not

Innocence In Elizabeth Bowen s The Demon Lover
The Demon Lover, explains a love story from the past that comes back to the protagonist, Mrs.
Drover, which happens to be a fictional character based on the author, Elizabeth Bowen s own life
experience. As the piece describes in detail parts leading up until the shift, when the letter is found, the
reader is left predicting the anonymous person who left it. It is unknown from the shift as to what will
occur, but the reader can assume something may not be good based on the title and the letter itself that

In The Demon Lover, Bowen uses modern and feminist ideas to draw the reader into a deeper
understanding of the piece adding detail, such as imagery and descriptions of the Blitz and the
flashback which lets the reader understand her past romance. Shifts in the story occur as she narrows
down possibilities as to how the letter arrived inside her home. Mrs. Drover remembers her ex fiancÊ s
promise, I shall be with you, he said, sooner or later. You won t forget that, which leads to her, later
on, talking to herself after his death saying that, he was never kind to me, not really. I don t remember
him kind at all (Bowen, 1332 1335). At the end of the short story, Mrs. Drover was completely in awe
of what she had saw in the cab, being that it was K., Mrs. Drover s mouth hung open for some seconds
before she could issue her first scream, which explains that she did not expect the driver to be her ex
fiancÊ and from that point she was stuck with him. As the short story ends, the reader can only

The Growth Of China
Over the past couple decades, China s economy has been shifting from an economy that relies on
exports and low cost production to a consumer economy that has much more open markets than it
used to. As a result, they are poised to regain their status as the largest economy in the world in terms
of purchasing power. China used to make and produce products at a low price, now they want to build
the machines that make these products instead. Looking forward, there will be four main trends that
will drive the growth of China s economy even if growth is very marginal. These trends are; the shift
in investment, the shift in capital flows, the shift in consumer leverage, and the shift in
shopping(ecommerce).
The first trend is China s shift in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, China has a large excess of capital. The international reserves of China are currently above $3
trillion. Because of the fact that China s financial system is very small and undeveloped for the
immensity of the nation, China needs to have a greater amount of capital outflows.. For example, in
the United States alone, Chinese consumers spent $12 billion on U.S, real estate in only the past year.
This trend means that U.S and other foreign real estate will continue to be bought Chinese investors
both for residential usage and for hard assets like farmland or similar physical capital.
The third trend is the positive shift in consumer leverage. In a new modern world where products like
cars are being bought through obtaining loans instead of cash, China is lacking behind but is slowly
catching up. In fact, it is still the norm in China to purchase a car using cash. The common Chinese
person will simply have more abundant ways of obtaining credit than they ever did in the past. For
example, in the last year, the amount of new car loans increased by 10% which increased the overall
amount of sales in China. With a large market to choose from in industries like the car industry,
investors will want to put their money into the ones that will be buyers while the smaller industries
will become weaker and lose the little market share that they had before.
The last trend is the shift in

An Buyer Owner Of The Land
Heidi
Heidi does not have a legal interest in Whitegates as Alex is the sole owner of the land. What must be
established is whether she has an equitable interest in Whitegates that will bind the purchaser Molly.
The express creation of a trust is not the only method to create a trust. Trusts can be created by the
action of the landowner or by third parties. Heidi acquires an equitable interest in the land under
implied trust due to the deposit she made when Alex purchased the property (Williams Glynn Bank v
Boland (1981) AC 487). When this happens no formalities are imposed such as registration of the
interest (S. 53(2) Law of property Act 1925).
Having established that Heidi has an equitable interest in the property it must be determined how this
interest affects Molly s purchase of the property.
The Land Registration Act 2002 established three categories of third party interests. One of these
categories covers unregistered interests in land which are capable of overriding registered dispositions
such as the purchase of freehold. Heidi s circumstance would be relevant to this category as her
interest is unregistered.
In order to establish whether Heidi has an overriding interest in the property schedule three paragraph
2 of the Land Registration Act 2002 must be satisfied.
Firstly there must be interest in the land. Heidi s equitable interest has been established by her
contribution to the purchase of the property.
Secondly, Heidi must be in actual occupation

INTRODUCTION
This paper sets out to review the role of entrepreneurship in stimulating economic growth, reducing
unemployment and increasing levels of income in low to middle income countries. Nieman and
Nieuwenhuizen (2009) states that the contribution of entrepreneurs to the economy can be attributed
to their special qualities. They also further states that entrepreneurs have been responsible for growth
and development over the centuries and are identified as the key role players in the economy of every
country. The paper identifies the different definitions of an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

He further states that it always has to do with bringing about a different use of resources in that they
are withdrawn from their traditional employ and subjected to new combinations. Schumpeter relates
entrepreneurship to be influenced by entrepreneurs who are innovative and these people have to be
extra ordinary as they have to come up with extra ordinary events. They come up with new
technological possibilities hence are able to establish large businesses from these. Carland etal. (1984)
confirms that an entrepreneur is someone innovative and further says that he or she employs strategic
management practices in the business. Timmons (2000) believes entrepreneurship as the process of
creating and seizing an opportunity and pursuing it, regardless of resources currently controlled.
Nieman and Nieuwenhuizen (2009) define an entrepreneur as the person who sees an opportunity in
the market, gathers resources and creates and grows a business venture to meet these needs. They also
further states that he or she bears risk of the venture and is rewarded with profit if it succeed. With
different definitions of entrepreneurship defined by different authors through the way they define an
entrepreneur, the researcher generally defines entrepreneurship as the act of being an entrepreneur
who establishes business through the organisation of resources taking risk with the aim of realising
profit.

Ever since the past, there had always been gender stereotypes. For an example, during the wars in
America, men who always the one who fought and women would do the clerical and nursing jobs. But

Growing Up With Greek Literature
Say Greek Tragedy to an English major and you re likely to elicit a groan, or even perhaps a screech

When I was younger, the Greek God s always captured my interest, and I could never get enough of

variety of other things fascinated me.
Eventually, in my early teens, I took up reading books such as The Odyssey by Homer, and various
other works relating to the Trojan War. As is typical with many Greek stories, The Odyssey presented
me with a hero I could look up to, but I was dealt my first shock when I realized that not all books
have a happy ending. Quite the contrary in most Greek literature. While the Odyssey does have a
fairly happy ending, other books on the Trojan War presented a much different picture. Achilles,
another one of my heroes at the time, dies, and the city of Troy is sacked. I wasn t sure how to take
these bizarre endings. I say bizarre because as a kid in this day and age, I was presented with stories
that always ended happily. The guy always got the girl. The hero always saved the day. The criminal
was always caught. This was quite out of the ordinary in my world. I began to realize that the stories
and movies I had previously always been presented, were in no way a honest view of reality. Bad
things did happen, and that was life. Instead of turning away from this reality, I embraced it, realizing
that while the stories themselves may not be true, the reality of the situations faced in them were.

Social Media Has Changed The Expectations Of Social...
Today, the average person spends at least two hours a day on social media sites. Through social media,
texting, and online chatrooms, people can communicate with others that they would otherwise have no
contact with. For this topic, it is important to define what friendship really means. Some have argued
that a friend is someone they talk with; others say it s someone they ve shared an experience with. For
this essay, friendship will be defined as someone who is kept in constant contact with through and
outside of the internet. The majority of effects seen from technology are negative: from decreased in
person social interactions, to loss of identity, and ultimately the watering down of friendships. Social
media has changed the expectations of social relationships. While technology does allow users to stay
connected with family and friends from varying distances, technology s negative effects also make it
harder to maintain those relationships and have a lasting impact on how people will pursue their future
relationships.
With the rise of social media and other forms of online communication, people have the opportunity to
connect with old and new friends alike. However, this connection through technology has changed
how people view friendship. In his article Faux Friendships, William Deresiewicz discusses how much
the ideas of friendship have changed over time. He argues that ...friendship, for the ancients, was rare,

Essay On How Fair Was The American Revolution
The American Revolution, a fight for rights full of deaths. The American Revolution was a very
important war in U.S. history between Great Britain and the original British 13 colonies in North
America. It was the beginning of the start of the United States of America. There were many events
that led to the war, some being unfair and others being fair, but was the American Revolution a just
war overall? This war was justified because the colonists were taxed unfairly, being mistreated, and
were being oppressed with soldiers, later causing many riots to break out. Many colonists were being
taxed unfairly by the king. In the 18th century, Britain began to tax the American colonies to pay for
debt caused by the French and Indian war. Although these taxes were not severe, they were unjust,
because the American colonies had no representation in parliament. One instance was when the British
Parliament passed the Sugar Act. It placed taxes on sugar and strictly enforced laws. This led to
protests and boycotts around the colonies. In addition, the British Parliament also passed the Stamp
Act, imposing a tax on many types of printed materials used in the colonies such as legal documents,

through the fractured intervals to rubbulize the production zone. Rubbulization propellants and
explosives may be used. The used carbon dioxide then is routed to the gas generator to be reheated
and recycled. The remaining organic matter in previously heated and depleted zones is combusted in
situ to generate the heated gases required to process successive intervals of treated wells. These gases
would then be pressured from the depleted zone into the newly fractured portion of the formation and
the process would be repeated. After that, the hydrocarbon fluids are brought up in conventional

The Development Of Gifted Education
Historical roots School students involvement in research projects is a new demand of 21st century due
to some factors: globalization trend, development of human capital, implementation of the reform on
the support and development of schools for gifted students and the poor results of Kazakhstani
students in PISA. Since this paper is focused on research projects in the framework of gifted
education, it is essential to determine the concepts of children as researchers and gifted education by
answering the question What and then, discuss the reasons of Why . The historical roots of the concept
of children as researchers started being popular because of the change of children s status in society (
Hallet and Prout 2003; Alderson and Morrow, 2004). The United Nations Convention on the Rights of
the Child (UNCRC, 1989) designated children as social actors in their own rights. Specifically,
children should be enlightened and engaged about all solutions that influence their lives (as cited in
Kellett, 2005, p.4). According to some scholars (Kirby and Bryson, 2002; Johnson et al., 1998), since
that time the growth of children as participants as well as co researchers is apparently seen. Initially,
children were involved in some data collections, thus most of research projects are still being
manipulated by adults and children are not considered as potential partners (Kellett, 2005, p.5).
Nevertheless, the definition of

Problem Solving Skills On A Business Situation
(iii) Learning Outcomes
8. Problem solving skills in a business situation The lack of responses from proposals I sent to
universities for advertising was initially disconcerting. Clients informed me that July/August is our
main vacation period, and most people will not be available (Roth 2015, np). The response I have
received from other university personnel can be categorized into one of three categories: 1. They did
not wish to advertise, 2. Process were too high and/ or out of their budget, 3. And some inquired about
when the deadline was for which they cab respond to. In the instances where university personnel
were interested in advertising placement, I promptly returned correspondence with details on the

However I managed to have a phone call and sought the price issue by offering her the same rate they
advertised for from last year. This helps Times of India in maintain client relations.
9. Analytical skills to select and use relevant information for a given task During business
representation meetings for Times of India I recorded the minutes of meetings while also taking
mental notes on delivery, subject matter, physical gestures, listening behavior, timing, and setting. The
manner in which my manager presented the Times of India to potential investors, advertisers, and
relevant personnel is a skill that must be honed through a combination of public speaking, emotional
awareness, and the development of managerial behaviors that are effective in the corporate
environment. For he delivery of courier times and parcels I wanted to maximize my efficiency and
minimize my time away from the office. By reducing the amount of time that a package was in transit,
I could enhance communication with clients and ensure any items my manager was expecting were
available at the earliest convenience. When sending reminders to clients for invoice payments,
proposals and other emails, I was conscious of correct terminology and tone of voice. I studied
previous emails sent by my superior as well using online journals to ensure I was complying with
industry standards for appropriate business tone. I have attached the emailed

Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy
January 1955, Albert Ellis first started to do Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). REBT was
the first of the cognitive behaviour therapies and since then the field of therapy has since changed
enormously as a result of Ellis s cognitive behaviour theory (Shaughnessy Mahan, 2001). As one of
the first cognitive theories, this paper will look at the overview of the approach, which includes the
concepts, principles, and practices. The REBT s therapeutic goals, process and the theory s
applications. What advantages and limitations this theory has and what ethical issues it may bring with
todays society. What new theoretical or research developments that is now occurring as a result from

Cognitive techniques: Rational analysis; analyses specific episodes to teach the client how to uncover
and dispute irrational beliefs this is usually done in the first session until the client understands and
then this can continue as homework. Double standard dispute; If the client is self downing about their
behaviour, ask if they would let your friend think that about themselves, when they say no help them
understand they are then holding a double standard onto themselves. Catastrophe scale; this is a useful
technique, this is where the therapist asks the client to rate where their problems are at, you get a piece
of paper and draw a line from top to bottom, mark 100% at the top and 0% down the bottom, and put
10% in between at intervals. Devil s advocate also known as reverse role playing; This is when the
therapist gets the client to argue against their own dysfunctional beliefs where the client tries to
convince the therapist that the belief is dysfunctional, in which getting the client to realise that their
dysfunctional belief is irrational. Reframing; reframing is re evaluating the bad event into perspective
with them being disappointing , concerning , uncomfortable , rather then awful or unbearable .
Another way of reframing is helping the client see that most of the time there is always a positive out
of a negative situation though this needs to

Henry Ford Biography Essay
Before 1907 when Henry Ford installed the first assembly line, the early 20th century provided
automobiles for mostly the rich as a showing of keeping up with the Jonseses. The car models were
mostly complicated machines which mostly required a chauffeur knowledgeable on how to operate the
complex automobile. The invention helped reduce a four men work to a one men power. It first took
around more than 12 hours to build one car to 2 hours and about 30 minutes. Henry Ford said that by
the aid of scientific study one man is now able to do somewhat more than four did only a
comparatively few years ago. That line established the efficiency of the method and we now use it
everywhere. The assembling of the motor, formerly done by one man, is now ... Show more content on

Around 1901 it showed that he had been a supervisor and stockholder for the automobile companies.
In 1902 Henry Ford started the Ford Motor Company with an $28,000 investment. He also smart
planned his success. He didn t really trust the banks that kept his investors at an odd. His early plans
were to offer the bankers who wanted to invest in his company that would offer dealer franchises. This
required the franchise dealers to pay for the automobiles when they were received instead of when
they were sold. This helped him have additional capital to expand his manufacturing enterprise, invest
in research and provide for his dream. Henry Ford stated that I would build a car for the great
multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care
for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs
that modern engineering can devise. But it will be low in price that no man making a good salary will
be unable to own one and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God s great open
spaces. This soon clearly started his dreams he announced in 1907 that soon came true. Henry Ford
built nine models before the Model T came forward, a significant

Final Draft
Food Culture in Vietnam and America
When we discuss about the differences between Vietnamese and America culture, we can think of
many things such as History, Style of Music, Arts, Religion, Language, etc. And, I will tell you some
differences and similarities in eating culture of the two countries. Even though they both have things
in common such as family s dinner, tea and coffee for morning, three meals a day or small snacks
between main meals. But, the food cultures of two countries are different in many ways including
kinds of farmland, living style, cooking style and eating style.
First of all, Vietnam and America both have farmlands and seas to raise animals and sea ... Show more

The basic food in Vietnam is dry; the meals usually come with rice, vegetables, eggs, and small
amounts of meat and fish. Although similar to Chinese cooking, Vietnamese cooking uses little fat or
oil for frying. Fish sauce is a main spice in almost every Vietnamese dish. In addition, they drink a
large amount of hot green tea and coffee without adding sugar, milk, or lemon. As same as
Vietnamese, in America they have three meals a day with some snacking on fruits and

The Career Road Map Assignment Essay
For the career road map assignment, I decided to interview a friend, athlete, coach, and counselor at
lafayette high school. The interview consisted of what his career path has been leading up to where he
currently is in his career. Daniel majored in counselling at UTC in downtown Chattanooga. While he
was in grad school for counselling MA, Daniel worked at a running shoe store named FastBreak
Athletics in Chattanooga. He eventually ended up being a sales rep for the company and travelled to
different events to market/sell different types of running gear at expos or to different storefronts.
But through his connections in the sport industry, he moved into coaching and counselling at lafayette
high school after he got his masters in counselling. I hope to do something of the sort with a graduate
degree in either business administration, or physical education. Daniel told me, although the
requirements and majors are important for your career, it is super important to network and make
connections with a lot of people. In nowadays society, it is all about who you know that can help you
get your foot in the door. So the first strategy is to make connections. The second strategy is to be well
educated on the subject. The third strategy is to develop good people skills and to relate well to a lot of
people. Fourth is to not get discouraged in not getting many call backs for jobs in my field. It is an
incredibly competitive field to go into. Daniel also began to tell me how

Fawn Grove Warehouse Case Study
NCM has never owned a facility to store donated commodity; they have always relied on the donor to
house the commodity to be donated. Fawn Grove Church of the Nazarene used the church building
until a 108,000 square foot warehouse was built in 2001. NCM contributed funds toward the
warehouse, but it was owned by the Fawn Grove Church. The commodity inside the warehouse
belonged to NCM, and NCM employed a warehouse manager, an office assistant, and a packing
assistant to maintain the warehouse and the commodity received. John Borgal, warehouse manager,
was responsible for keeping the warehouse storage inventoried and well organized. I was able to visit
the warehouse on several occasions and provided John with suggestions for improvement.

The Effects Of High-Profile Vehicles
Consumer sentiment for high profile vehicles continues. A quick scan of the automotive landscape,
especially in the United States, reveals that consumers are snapping up SUVs and pickup trucks to the
detriment of coupes, sedans, and wagons. Some brands, such as Buick, are selling as many as three
SUVs to one car, underscoring the wholesale shift away from traditional transportation choices. Some
analysts see a permanent shift away from cars to high profile vehicles and are essentially calling the
segment dead. Indeed, just this past week we ve heard rumors that GM may cancel two large sedans
the Chevrolet Impala and Cadillac XTS, with even a few smaller models such as the Chevrolet Sonic
possibly on the chopping block. Also, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This makes sense because the 2019 Avalon is based on the same platform underpinning the Toyota
Camry and also shares its wheelbase with the Lexus ES Series. Avalon sales may be falling, but
Toyota is poised to fill the void left with its own model. Livery owners everywhere rejoice! 3.
Shrinking, but not dying. Not all car segments are going away. One reason large sedan sales are falling
is because midsize sedans are taking up the slack. Today s midsize models are nearly as large as the
big sedans sold 15 years ago. They re also better made, well equipped, and affordable. Doubtlessly,
the D segment pie will continue to shrink, but there is opportunity for those who are patient. Indeed,
both the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord are all new for 2018, while a refreshed Hyundai Sonata
rolls out. Sales of such remaining models as the Ford Fusion, Nissan Altima, Chevrolet Malibu, and
Kia Optima remain strong. It is doubtful the Subaru Legacy will go away, although models such as the
Mazda 6 and Volkswagen Passat may not receive an update anytime soon. 4. Gas prices are a driving
factor. Low fuel prices have people running away from fuel efficient models. That said, today s utility
vehicles are more efficient than ever. Still, if gas prices begin to rise, consumers may suddenly shift
demand to vehicles currently in low demand. No utility vehicle delivers anywhere near the

  • 2. Lego Brickumentary Analysis The believe documentary over A LEGO brickumentary gives people across the world the opportunity to express themselves using their imagination with the LEGO brick. As the film progressed, I could see many different types of designs. I had absolutely no idea that designers across the world made this their life. They use their imagination and make it out of LEGO bricks, instead of using the directions on the back of the box. They took it and made it their own. What these people came up with and created was extraordinary. I also had no idea LEGOs were such a deal to all sorts of ages and genders. I thought LEGOs were only for children that are only boys, but they vary from young boys and girls up to men and women. Even adults create different structures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some adults build structures for museums and types of jobs they have, but also others build for simple fun and enjoyment of the LEGO brick. As for a particular builder during the movie made a musuem of his sculptures to bring people from around the city to show off his artwork. He wanted this to be portrayed as art rather than just him creating something to have fun. Another view can be on how to use a LEGO brick. Many people think they have to do what is recommended by the directions that are on the back of the box. As for others, that is not the case. Many use their creativity to make the a creative structure in their minds. What some people do with their creativity, whatever they create can be submitted to LEGO, and if they win out of the other competitors who create different types of structures, then their product will be the next LEGO set produced. This brickumentary was very interesting and brought me some enjoyment, and I was extremely drawn in on what this brickumentary brought to me. I had no idea LEGO targeted all sorts of ages and genders. Since I was a little kind I always thought LEGOs were just for children. It is funny how things change as you grow older. The brickumentary showed that LEGO can bring happiness and relieve stress to many people around the world. I had no idea that LEGO brought so much valuable interest to people of all ages. It was very enjoyable to watch something I probably would have never picked on watching on my own. I think LEGO is a great toy to anyone and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Informed Consent And Its Perilous Deception Informed consent is the process by which a patient is fully informed about all aspects of their healthcare and has the ability to participate in choices and make an apprise decision regarding their care. It is the legal right of the patient to direct what happens to them and the ethical duty of the doctor to involve the patient in their care. My final paper analyzes informed consent and its perilous deception. I shall present three main points against informed consent by arguing the complexity of the information given to the patient, the decision making process and lastly patient competency. To begin, there are four important pieces of information that the physician must tell a patient to ensure they are informed; the nature of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This study found that 69% of the participants failed to understand the meaning of randomization. This type of misunderstanding increases with patients who have limited English proficiency. (p.3) Who should be responsible to ensure that a patient understands what they are signing? As in all relationships whether romantic, social, or physician patient there is a responsibility that each person must have to secure a trusting rapport. In a physician patient relationship, a patient must uphold to their responsibility of understanding their healthcare. They must be able to communicate their concerns, voice misunderstanding, and educate themselves. If the counter argument of removing informed consent is the fear of taking away a patient s autonomy then a patient placing their understanding in the hands of the physician implies that informed consent is ineffective. Informed consent foundation is built on the concept of a patient understanding the nature of a treatment or procedure in order to consent to it. Which leads me to my next argument of the decision making process. Corrigan writes There are a number of contributions from medical sociology that draw attention to the complexities of decision making, and render the medical encounter problematic by discussing the ways in which patients are often dependent on medical expertise and advice. As stated previously informed consent essentially relies on the physician patient ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although Harold probably doesn t want to become like his father, or think like him, he will grow up to be just like his father. When Harold gets involved into arguments, only then does his fathers instincts kick in. Although Harolds father is never in the play, we can learn a lot about him just by Harold and a single phone call. Harold inherited his fathers need for power and control, his racism, hatred, and negative attitude. Harold likes to be in control. In Harolds family situation, his fathers dominates his mother. For instance when Harolds father made up his mind that he wanted to leave the hospital, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now between Harold and his father, his father dominates him easily. Because of this Harold may want to feel like he?s somehow in control of something, and that?s why he treats Willie and Sam the way he does. I think Harold loves Willie and Sam, like Harolds father loves his wife, but because Harolds father is in control, Harold wants to feel somehow in control too. Harold is prejudice against black people. Though he may not know it, or might not want to admit it, Harold is racist. This is also another way Harold argues with Willie and Sam. He argues that because Sam is black he doesn?t know as much as Harold or can?t learn anything to complex. He also argues that he is far too civilized and well mannered to be hanging out with black people who are nothing more than servants. Then again this just might be another excuse for Harold to win an argument. For instance, Harold deliberately told Sam what he thought was a funny racist joke just to hurt Sams feelings. Now this is a joke that Harold shared with his father, and this is how they spend their time together, making prejudice jokes about black people. Harold became racist because of his father. Their racist jokes are the only thing that brings them together. They make jokes about people who are less then them so they can feel more dominate in society. It?s the only thing Harold knows of to make his father happy. This also means that Harold and his father don?t ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Impact Of Transformative And Social Constructive... Nursing education is designed to offer students the opportunity to become practitioners who are able to connect theories into practice in ways that result in quality patient care. Consequently, Nurse Educators are faced with the challenge of preparing students for the role of the graduate nurse, including not only the theoretical foundations of practice but the technical skills and performance behaviors necessary for their role in caring for patients with complex needs (Klein, 2006). Moreover, educators often apply a variety of learning theories that foster behavioral change, motivate and empower the nurse to form appropriate partnership with patients to promote quality care. Partnership in care shifts the focus to the patient as the expert and leader of his/her own health care while the nurse acts as a facilitator of health care. The purpose of this paper is to critically analyze how the application of transformative and social constructive learning theories impacts adult learning outcomes; and the resultant role in guiding nurses and patients to forge an effective partnership in care. Transformative Learning Theory Jack Mezirow is credited for developing transformative learning theory. This theory maintains that the manner in which learners understand their sense and skills is vital in developing meaning that supports learning (Instructionaldesign.org, 2014). According to Mezirow s theory, there are two types of learning: communicative and instrumental learning. While ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Nsa Is The Spying Ofu.s Citizens The National Security Agency (NSA) has been an information gathering arm of the Executive branch since the Cold War and continues to be an essential part of ensuring the security of the United States. The public issue that involves the NSA is the spying of U.S citizens which can be seen as a violation of the Fourth Amendment of the United States Constitution. This was revealed to the public by the whistleblower Edward Snowden who released classified documents of activities that the NSA had been conducting in conjuncture with telecommunication companies, which angered many U.S citizens and received media coverage with a call for the U.S Government to restrict the NSA s activities or at least for there to be Congressional oversight. This debate revolves around how much the NSA s surveillance activities are actually used for national security as well as the constitutionality of the NSA s surveillance. This all began after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 when there was a call for the attacks to never happen again and the adoption of the Patriot Act in that same year which increased the power of the NSA. The National Security Agency over the past few years was revealed to have spied on American citizens under what can be considered illegal or unconstitutional circumstances which sparked concern and outrage across most of America. • 7. New Plymouth Colony Research Paper The most devastating war between the colonists and Indians took place in New England in 1676 and ended in 1676. Metacomet, also known as King Philip, was the son of Chief Massasoit, who was a principal leader of the Wampanoag in the early 1600 s; a tribe in North America that existed in America long before the Europeans arrived. He is also known as Metacom, Metacomet or Pometacom, names that he was given by the Wampanoag tribe. Pilgrims who arrived on the Mayflower, a ship that transported the first English separatists, founded the Plymouth colony at New Plymouth. This settlement that occurred in 1620 served as the capital of the colony and occupied the southeastern portion of what is now known as Massachusetts. Besides Jamestown and other settlements in Virginia, the Plymouth colony was one of the earliest successful colonies to be founded by the British. The colony went great lengths and traveled long distances to establish a friendship with Chief Massasoit to help ensure the colony s success. Gifts were exchanged and Chief Massasoit gave his sons English names to show respect for each other. King Philip tried to maintained peace for a number of years with the colonist, but after he ... She and her friends, who became known as the Little Rock Nine , elicited both support and criticism from their family members, friends, community members, military troops, in addition to the President of the United States. Melba s experiences, while heartbreaking and sobering, highlight the strength to overcome that individuals can have over a system intent on keeping them down. She applied the phrase kill them with kindness , which confused many of her attackers, which seemed to temporarily lessen the severity and frequency of their attacks. After her year as a Central High student was over and she was able to reflect upon her experiences, Melba came to the conclusion that the adults that watched the white children torment and abuse she and her friends were simply afraid. They were afraid of change. They were afraid that the social structure that placed them above blacks was going to crumble, leaving them at the mercy of people who they ve kept down for so long. Most of all, Melba learned they were afraid that once blacks started going to the same school as their children, they may begin to date, marry and make families with their children. The two individuals who did the most to help Melba survive while she was inside Central High School were Danny and Link. One of the best ways to analyze the changing culture of a society is by examining the progression of its laws. The laws governing marijuana have varied widely throughout the history of the United States. Tracking the path of laws regarding marijuana is a demonstrable example of social change; those laws having gone from one extreme to the other and back. There has been a fundamental change in cultural attitude regarding the legalization of marijuana. Examples of this shift can be seen by examining the history of marijuana before it was illegal, why the laws changed to make in illegal (even a felony), the change in attitude, the racial aspect, modern legislation, ... Following the Mexican revolution of 1910, Mexican immigrants flocked to the U.S. and introduced the recreational use of cannabis by smoking its leafs. They called the substance marijuana. The fear and prejudice about the Mexican immigrants became associated with marijuana. Anti marijuana campaigns were initiated in the 1920s for many reasons. Newspaper industry executive, William Randolph Hearst, felt threatened that the supply of hemp, which was a cheaper and stronger fiber than paper, would undercut paper prices. Hearst, in addition to being a newspaper executive, had financial holdings in timber, the main component of paper. He used negative propaganda published in his newspapers to create public fear. The claim that Mexicans were committing crimes and attributing it to their marijuana use was a result of the propaganda, shifting the cultural attitude against marijuana. By the 1930s. unemployment caused by the Great Depression, increased the outrage toward the Mexican immigrants, as they usurped ever shrinking number of American jobs. The fact that the Mexicants were associated with marijuana use resulted in a negative public impression. In 1936 the infamous anti marijuana movie Reefer Madness was released. Costumes and colors symbolize the roles of handmaids, wives, commanders, etc. Handmaids are forced to wear red dresses that cover all aspects of their body. The color red symbolizes fertility, which is very important for handmaids to have. It also represents the blood of the menstrual cycle and childbirth, everything except the wings around my face is red: The colour of blood which defines us. Therefore, red identifies the role of a handmaid as a child bearer for the wives. Wives can be identified by their clothes and where they sit in meetings .The costumes the wives wear are usually more flattering and more fitted and always blue. Blue is a royal color which can represent that the wives have a high status which is why their clothes are blue and more regal. Blue is also seen as a frigid color and that can represent the actions of the wives to the handmaids. The roles of the wives are to help the handmaids get pregnant but they despise them instead. The man himself is covered in mystery and intrigue. Who is this prophet that comes on the scene and vanishes as fast as he appears? The context is in a time when the Israelites are back in the land YWHW promised, yet things feel much different. The temple is not yet in construction and the Judeans are having trouble with the indigenous Samaritans. Haggai has a challenge, but he is just the man for the job, and YWH has called him for just the time as this. Haggai The person: Little is known of the prophet Haggai. The name Haggai means feast of Yahweh or by contraction, Hagariah means Yahweh hath girded. This leads scholars to believe that he was born on a feast day. Another theory is that the writer of the book recorded Haggai s prophecies later, and like Malachi, gave him a nickname because he prophesied on feast days. He prophesied for a very short time. Haggai 1:15 record the dates of Haggai s prophetic ministry. He prophesied in the Second year of King Darius (521 486), in the year 520 from August 29th to December 18th. These 15 short weeks make up one of the smallest prophetic ministries in the prophetic books. We also know Haggai existed through other biblical and extra biblical sources. Choice Book Essay Recently, I read the book Gates, how Microsoft s mogul reinvented an industry and made himself the richest man in America by Paul Andrews and Stephen Manes in 1994. This was of course, during the time period when Apple was failing, and released an operating system, System 9, that nobody needed nor wanted in 1994. We Grow Accustomed To The Walk People have different types of lifestyle, personality, thoughts, careers, and choices, but in the world, there are only a few people who have similar thoughts, ideas, and a passion for writing such as Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost. These poets express their emotions and feelings, in their poems. In this paper I will compare two poems by Dickinson We Grow Accustomed to the Dark and A Bird came down the Walk, and two poems by Frost, Acquainted with the Night and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening, the history of the authors, and their similarities and differences. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost wrote many poems about their emotions and the darkness that they faced or in their childhood or adult life. Dickinson writes about darkness because she always stayed in her house; she did not leave her house and she did not see the light of the sky in her life (Tredell). We Grow Accustomed to the Dark, by Emily Dickinson, is about the darkness and hopelessness. This poem has a deeper meaning about people who have to face all kinds of struggle or problems in their life. The poet writes, When light is put away As when the Neighbor holds the Lamp (Dickinson We Grow, 2 3). This means that sometimes it s tough to solve a problem, but there is always hope to solve any kind of problem. All kinds of struggle can help one to learn about the struggle and also to get experiences to solve these problems or struggles again in the future. Acquainted with the Night, by Robert Frost, is about a person who is walking alone in the rain. He is approached by a cop (watchman) and the speaker looks down and walks away from a cop. The author mentions, And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain (Frost Acquainted, 6). This quote means that speaker does not make eye contact with the cop because he does not want to explain to the cop what he is doing outside at the night time. I have stood still and stopped the sound of feet. When far away an interrupted cry (Frost Acquainted, 7 8) this quote explains while the speaker is walking, he hears, someone crying in one of the houses on the street. But not to call me back or say good bye (Frost Acquainted, 10) this explains that the speaker does not want to see who is crying; however; he ignores that crying sound and walks away from it. I have looked down the saddest city lane (Frost Acquainted, 4) this proves that the speaker in the poem is very depressed. The speaker is lonely or maybe the speaker is ... • 18. Characters Of A Dog In The Golden Compass, By Philip Pullman Three years ago, my family adopted a dog. I ending up being the one who was most reluctant to making the final decision and still was even after he had entered our family. I was the one who thought of all the negatives for we don t need a dog incorporated into our busy lives. For the first few weeks I did not like this dog, and the dog new it. Over time, I started to relate and bond with this dog. I saw how he was different, he did not act like a normal dog of his breed, different from the rest. I find the same thing in myself in my family, not like the others, but were both of us are still included and loved. Now, the dog that I didn t want and I are closer than any of my other family members are with him. In the novel The Golden Compass, the author Philip Pullman develops a similar type of relationship for each of his characters called daemons. These companions reflect a certain person s identity, soul, and changes in feeling through their different forms, usually as animals. I am being considered for Mr. Pullman s next novel and he has asked me to develop daemons of my own for the next book in his series. After a few days of thinking I have decided on three animals that would be a great representation of me in daemon form, an owl, a lemur, and a butterfly. Throughout my academic career I have tended to be a good student who got excellent in elementary school and straight A s in middle school. So what better daemon to have than owl to represent this side of me. I tend to have the ability to understand concepts and make them concrete easily when explained complete and thoroughly. This form of myself not only comes during school work but any time that I have to be analytical. One place that I have to show my thinking is on the tennis court, a sport that I play year round. Tennis is very much a mind game and at my higher level of play, I am forced to compete more and more strategically while also maintaining my consistent fundamental skills. This means observing what your opponents weakness is and applying it to the match so swing it into your favor. Placement, direction, speed, spin, are all things that need to be considered during every point. My owl is not only limited to its analytical side but its ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Can one really believe that an individual can commit a crime so wicked that they should be put to death by another individual? The death penalty or capital punishment is defined as a government sanctioned practice where a person is sentenced to death by the state as a punishment for a crime. I oppose the death penalty, it should be put to an end and terminated because the actual applications for the death penalty is random and capricious, the death penalty violates the eighteenth amendment of the United States constitution, and even the guilty should have the right to life. What must be established is whether she has an equitable interest in Whitegates that will bind the purchaser Molly. The express creation of a trust is not the only method to create a trust. Trusts can be created by the action of the landowner or by third parties. Heidi acquires an equitable interest in the land under implied trust due to the deposit she made when Alex purchased the property (Williams Glynn Bank v Boland (1981) AC 487). The Land Registration Act 2002 established three categories of third party interests. One of these categories covers unregistered interests in land which are capable of overriding registered dispositions such as the purchase of freehold. Heidi s circumstance would be relevant to this category as her interest is unregistered. • 37. Social Media Has Changed The Expectations Of Social... Today, the average person spends at least two hours a day on social media sites. Through social media, texting, and online chatrooms, people can communicate with others that they would otherwise have no contact with. For this topic, it is important to define what friendship really means. Some have argued that a friend is someone they talk with; others say it s someone they ve shared an experience with. For this essay, friendship will be defined as someone who is kept in constant contact with through and outside of the internet. The majority of effects seen from technology are negative: from decreased in person social interactions, to loss of identity, and ultimately the watering down of friendships. Social media has changed the expectations of social relationships. While technology does allow users to stay connected with family and friends from varying distances, technology s negative effects also make it harder to maintain those relationships and have a lasting impact on how people will pursue their future relationships. With the rise of social media and other forms of online communication, people have the opportunity to connect with old and new friends alike. However, this connection through technology has changed how people view friendship. In his article Faux Friendships, William Deresiewicz discusses how much the ideas of friendship have changed over time. He argues that ...friendship, for the ancients, was rare, precious, and hard won, but now, We can be friends ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Essay On How Fair Was The American Revolution The American Revolution, a fight for rights full of deaths. The American Revolution was a very important war in U.S. history between Great Britain and the original British 13 colonies in North America. It was the beginning of the start of the United States of America. There were many events that led to the war, some being unfair and others being fair, but was the American Revolution a just war overall? This war was justified because the colonists were taxed unfairly, being mistreated, and were being oppressed with soldiers, later causing many riots to break out. Many colonists were being taxed unfairly by the king. In the 18th century, Britain began to tax the American colonies to pay for debt caused by the French and Indian war. Although these taxes were not severe, they were unjust, because the American colonies had no representation in parliament. One instance was when the British Parliament passed the Sugar Act. It placed taxes on sugar and strictly enforced laws. This led to protests and boycotts around the colonies. In addition, the British Parliament also passed the Stamp Act, imposing a tax on many types of printed materials used in the colonies such as legal documents, newspapers, and even playing cards. Electricity generators or simply heaters can be placed on surface or in the well bore. Surface heaters are better for maintenance issues. The heated shale oil is then extracted by separate dedicated production wells. After pyrolysis and electrofracking, comes rubbulization the third approach to the economic recovery of shale oil. This approach was taken by Chevron Oil Company. Rubbulization is breaking a zone of reservoir into separate chunks of rock .In other words, generating fractures in the three dimensions. while heated carbon dioxide is used for the decomposition Kerogen in oil shale. The process involves drilling vertical wells into the oil shale formation and applying horizontal fractures induced by injecting carbon dioxide through drilled wells and then pressured through the formation for circulation through the fractured intervals to rubbulize the production zone. Rubbulization propellants and explosives may be used. The used carbon dioxide then is routed to the gas generator to be reheated and recycled. The remaining organic matter in previously heated and depleted zones is combusted in situ to generate the heated gases required to process successive intervals of treated wells. These gases would then be pressured from the depleted zone into the newly fractured portion of the formation and the process would be repeated. After that, the hydrocarbon fluids are brought up in conventional vertical oil wells as any other conventional ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 40. The Development Of Gifted Education Historical roots School students involvement in research projects is a new demand of 21st century due to some factors: globalization trend, development of human capital, implementation of the reform on the support and development of schools for gifted students and the poor results of Kazakhstani students in PISA. Since this paper is focused on research projects in the framework of gifted education, it is essential to determine the concepts of children as researchers and gifted education by answering the question What and then, discuss the reasons of Why . The historical roots of the concept of children as researchers started being popular because of the change of children s status in society ( Hallet and Prout 2003; Alderson and Morrow, 2004). The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC, 1989) designated children as social actors in their own rights. Specifically, children should be enlightened and engaged about all solutions that influence their lives (as cited in Kellett, 2005, p.4). According to some scholars (Kirby and Bryson, 2002; Johnson et al., 1998), since that time the growth of children as participants as well as co researchers is apparently seen. Initially, children were involved in some data collections, thus most of research projects are still being manipulated by adults and children are not considered as potential partners (Kellett, 2005, p.5). Nevertheless, the definition of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

One reason large sedan sales are falling is because midsize sedans are taking up the slack. Today s midsize models are nearly as large as the big sedans sold 15 years ago.
