The Government s Background Investigation Essay
Topic:
The US government s background investigation process for individuals seeking employment with US
Federal, State, and Local government agencies and private sector organizations is an important part of
US homeland security. Through a thorough investigation of an individual s biographical, residential,
employment, education, military, medical, financial and legal histories, etc., information regarding an
applicant s background is obtained and a report of investigation (ROI) is prepared and submitted to an
adjudicator for review. After review of the ROI, the adjudicator makes a determination of an
individual s suitability to obtain a security clearance for a position impacting the US national security.
If the results of a background investigation are favorably adjudicated, the individual is eligible to
receive a security clearance; if certain derogatory information is obtained during the background
investigation, an individual can be denied a security clearance.
Problem:
Although much personal and private information is obtained and reviewed during most background
investigations, there is one glaring omission of information that can prove to be valuable in
determining the suitability for an individual to obtain a security clearance. The information listed on
an individual s social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Internet Chat rooms) can
provide invaluable insight into a subject s character, integrity, loyalty, allegiance and other
characteristics

Monte Cristo History
The Count of Monte Cristo is a movie based off of the book written by Alexandre Dumas and directed
by Kevin Reynolds. The movie is not entirely historically accurate and was written mostly for
entertainment purposes. There are various events throughout the movie that include historical
references, however it is a very minor aspect of the movie. The historical references in the movie do
not intend to create a real story as a history textbook would. They are there to add an interesting
finesse to the story without straying away from the main plot. One of these major historical references
is Napoleon exile to Elba, and his attempt to come back to power in France. The film is 131 minutes
and came out in 2002. The movie begins on the Island of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was never created to follow an exact event in the past, but was more created as a fictional plot with
historical aspects to it. Many would criticize the movie because of its lack of accurately portraying the
time period and following historical events, however I believe that it did a good job of throwing in
historical sites throughout the movie. The movie also has references to common problems that
everyday people face, regardless of the time they are from or where they live. For example, Fernand
Montego played by Guy Pearce is a jealous best friend who purposely sabotages Edmond and gets
him thrown into prison. This is all just so he could get his girl and feel better about himself. This
problem is very similar to problems people deal with every day. People are constantly caught up in
jealousy, which causes them to do horrible things such as betraying their lifetime best friend. Another
major theme in the story that is seen in every day life is revenge. Edmond gets so caught up in giving
all those that crossed him what they deserved that he nearly loses the woman he loves and his best
friend. This is something that people get involved in all the time in todays world. We get so caught up
in giving others what we think they deserve that we almost lose those who are closest to us. One
minor thing that stood out to me

Brown V Board Of Education
Landmark Supreme Court Cases ïŹ Brown v Board of Education (1954)  The Background: In the
1950 s, schools were separated by race. Linda Brown and her sister had to walk down a dangerous
railroad switchyard to get to the bus stop to their all black elementary school. There was an all white
school closer to the Brown s house, and the Brown family believed that segregated schools violated
the Constitution.  The Constitutional Issue: This issue violated the Equal Protection Clause of the
Fourteenth amendment because segregated schools for people of race are unconstitutional and
unequal.  The Outcome: The Supreme Court states that segregated schools could never be equal to
each other. The Court decided that laws requiring separate schools violated the Fourteenth
Amendment. This decision supports that all people are equal. As a student, I am affected because
people of different race are welcome to go to school where I go to school. ïŹ Mapp v Ohio (1961) 
The Background: The police were suspicious of Dollree Mapp hiding a person suspected in a
bombing. They went to her house and demanded entrance, but Mapp would not let them in because
they did not have a warrant. The police broke into her house and found evidence of crime. At the trial,
the police could not show their warrant at the U.S. Supreme Court.  The Constitutional Issue: This
violated the Fourth Amendment, because the Fourth Amendment protects the people from
unreasonable search and seizure by the government.  The

Summary Of To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf
Reading the novel To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf was hard labor. Every page I turned made me
feel that I was in a different place at a different time. Due to the lack of its plot and entertainment, this
novel, unfortunately, would immediately fail to engage teenagers, as well as other readers, who are not
as interested as Virginia Woolf, to study the humans consciousness and the way time moves over the
courses of our days.
In our everyday lives, we always expect, including myself, to read a story that has a well structured
plot and that also brings us to a journey that will remain with us forever. While it is true that, I was
notified multiple times that modernist novels are texts that will either keep a person up all night
staring at the clock on the wall, pressing their back against the wall or pulling their skin off their
bones, I still expected to find a story in To The Lighthouse that unfolds through a chronological order
because there is always a cause and effect, a beginning, middle, and end, to every story. However, this
was not to be the case. Part one of the novel did not have a story at all. It was mainly characters
consciousness flowing into one another across the pages, because of that, I almost wanted to throw the
book in the air and even to burn it to dust. However, now that I am looking back, I would have never
picked up this book to read by the shore under the summer skies.
Despite the disorganization of part one, I managed to get through from page to

Physics for Industries
INTRODUCTION
Physics attempts to describe the fundamental nature of the universe and how it works, always striving
for the simplest explanations common to the most diverse behaviour. For example, physics explains
why rainbows have colours, what keeps a satellite in orbit, and what atoms and nuclei are made of.
The goal of physics is to explain as many things as possible using as few laws as possible, revealing
nature s underlying simplicity and beauty. Physics has been applied in many industrial fields, which
include the air industry, construction industry, automobile industry, manufacturing industry and many
others. All these industries apply physics in one way or another. For example a car that moves from
one point to another has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The fluid moving over the top travels a greater distance than the moving just under the bottom of the
wing. Consequently, the fluid moving over the top must travel faster in order to conform to the shape
of the wing and still maintain the natural streamline. The shape of the wing also crowds the
streamlines together above the wing, just as in the case of a constructing pipe. The result is that of the
region immediately above the wing. Because the downward force on the top of the wing is less than
the upward force on the bottom, a net upward force, or lift, arises from the airflow. (Beyond the airfoil
the flowing air has a downward component of velocity. By Newton s third law, the reaction force to
the net downward force exerted on the air is the lift.) For lift to occur, a flow of air is required relative
to the wing. The lift occurs equally well for a wing moving through stationary air or for moving past a
stationary wing.
In general, as the flow of air past the wing increases, both the lift force and the drag force (the
resistance to forward motion) increases. According to Breithaipt (2000), aircraft wings are designed so
that pilots can change the wing shape during flight, producing greater lift for the slower speeds of
takeoff and landing and producing less drag at cruising extended

Benefits Of Payment Reimbursement Systems Within The...
Effective payment program strategies are a major part of administering health care. Reimbursement
programs are a part of the United States (U.S) health care system. They represent a financial tool for
providing cash flow to service physicians and hospitals. Most often, the ability to provide quality
health care depends on the payment for the services given by physicians and hospitals. This paper
presents a view of payment reimbursement systems within the health care industry. A comparative
overview and description of payment reimbursement will be given in order to understand the flow of
finances in the health care industry. The focus will be on the levy and fee for service reimbursement

The costs of health care are higher in the United States than in other countries and put a strain on the
overall economy. In the United States, health care is technologically advanced but expensive. Health
care costs were about $2.6 trillion dollars in 2010. For decades, the amount of money spent on health
care has increased more than the overall economy has grown. Health care is paid for by government
programs, private health insurance plans, and the person s own funds.
Private insurance

there are many health insurance companies in the United States, a given state tends to have a limited

they may use health care services more.

patients lacked knowledge in catheterization and most of the patients were limited in decision making

included, a small section of patients from one surgical specialty was a limiting factor in the study.
Secondly the study did not combine methods such as questionnaire to increase the sample magnitude.
According to the findings of the study the information gathered was adequate to logical argument
about the fact that delayed removal of catheter was leading to patients contraction of infections
through the examination of the symptoms shown by some of the patients. Most of the uncertainties
were associated with lack of information, as one of the female participant conveyed dissatisfaction
with information provided to her before surgery, which instigated to the need for the search of
information online, this information helped her after the surgery. The perspective, from which the
study was developed, revolved around the length of time catheter should take after surgery before it is
removed from the patient. The lengthier catheter stayed on the patient, the more chances the patient
was likely to be infected.

The Electronic Medical Record
For a nation to be technologically advanced, the United States (U.S.) is having a hard time
overcoming the dark era of utilizing hand written scripts, progress notes, and paper records. In
comparison to other countries, the U.S. is lagging behind in the health care system. Even with all the
improvements that have been made recently, the U.S. ranked last in 2014 in areas such as access,
efficiency and equity compared to Australia, Canada, France Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand,
Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (Davis, Stremikis, Squires, Schoen, 2014).
Now, as our nation is trying to improve the quality, access, and proficiency of our health care,
concerns have been raised whether the new policies are adequate enough for privacy amongst sharing
and obtaining health information. This paper was put together to give background information on how
the electronic medical record came about and whether privacy is a major concern amongst the
American population.
Background
The dark era of medical records caused people s private health information not to be safe. A few
examples of how patient records were not protected includes patient records were found in dumpsters
outside of physician s offices, patient records were found washed ashore in Maine, and in one instance
a teacher from Salt Lake City purchased medical records from 28 Florida hospitals to use as scrap
paper for her students (Thede, 2010). Moreover, in the past patient records used to be fully

The word means one who learns, one who follows, and one who then teaches. Discipling is by
definition an on going process for us individually, but also by generation. Young people are relying on
the older generations to make them disciples so they, in turn, can make disciples of the next
generation.
Discipleship is about engaging in the Word, following and obeying Jesus and going out to make
disciples. An essential element in being a disciple is to be open to learning, to be teachable. It is a
mindset to be continuously adopted and cultivated. For us to disciple others, we must be a better
disciple ourselves. When making disciples, we are instructing others to be willing to be a discoverer. It
applies to both spiritual growth as well as personal development, openness to new techniques, ideas

Ester Lucero Essay
Cassie Essary Tim Petete Ethnic American Literature November 12, 2009 Angel s Psyche in Ester
Lucero One of the most fascinating aspects of any story is the formation of it scharacters. The way the
author chooses to describe them, give them personalities, is how the reader will see their lives. A
character s psyche and the way he thinks about events around him change the way a reader perceives
the story. Authors have an amazing chance to shape and bend a story to fit what they want it to be
through the characterization of the people they write about. If an author is incapable of making
characters believable and understandable, the story won t survive. In Isabel Allende s Ester Lucero ,
Angel is described in a way that makes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead, Angel seems to have fixated on Ester as a way of getting past his ownproblems. Ester became
something that he desperately wanted, but could never allow himself to have. She was a child, and he
would not allow himself to touch her for that reason, and because his obsession with her is what keeps
him going. Ester became the focus of all his attention so he didn t have to deal with anything else in
his life. Another issue with Angel is the fact that he has a bullet in his groin. The women of the town
question his masculinity and begin to wonder if maybe the malaria or that bullet he has there in his
crotch rid him forever of a taste for women (Pearson 10). They don t realize that he has become
completely engrossed with Ester and therefore uninterested in the other women of the town. Since
Angel does have a bullet in his groin, and purposefully chose an unavailable girl to fixate on, it makes
the reader wonder if the bullet did cause some sort of dysfunction. Perhaps the reason that Angel
deliberately chose a girl that he could never have was because he knew women wouldn t want him if
they knew that he was impotent. Early on, when it is Angel s turn with a bride for the moment he
found no consolation ...he would have to search for that girl, if for no other reason than to determine
whether she was a mirage (Pearson 9). This passage

In document B and C, separation of powers of the three branches, legislative, judicial, and executive,
ensures that not one power is greater than the other. However, as a form of checks and balances, the
branches should not be separated to the point of having no constitutional control over each other.
Madison stated Liberty requires that the three great departments of power should be separate and
distinct. (Federalist paper #51) but ..they may be a check on the other (Federalist paper #51) meaning
that the three branches have separate powers, but are able to have constitutional control on each other.
For example, Legislative branch can approve the presidential nomination, override a president s veto,
and impeach the president from the executive branch while the senate confirms the president s
nominations for the judges and remove them from the office from the judicial branch . While, the
executive branch can veto the congressional legislation from the legislative branch and nominate

executive branch and declare laws unconstitutional to the legislative branch. (Document C). Framer
guarded against tyranny through separation of powers but still being able to check on each other and
having constitutional control on each other. The branches should be separate and distinct as if they
were together, it would be given too much absolute power to one group. Checks and balances
illustrates how the constitution guarded against tyranny because the three branches have fair
opportunity to stop the other branches from committing an unconstitutional act. Additionally to how

Human Resource Management And How Does It Affect An...
One would ask the question, What is Human Resource Management and how does it affect an
organization? According to Management Study Guide (n.d.), human resource management is the
practice of managing individuals in an organization through an organized and systematic method.
Human resource management affects an organization by executing the procedures and policies and
warranting that the complaints of employees are taken care of. Given the different roles taken on by
the human resource management, it is vital to the attainment of an organization. Today, we will be
looking at three different ways in which human resource management affects an organization. One,
look at how human resource management influence an organizational performance. Next, I will be
sharing information on organizational culture, and then the practices of human resource management
in an organization. First, taking a look at how HRM influences organizational performances.
According to authors Phillips, J and Gully, S., human resource management policies and practices add
value to organization and influences organizational performances by either improving efficiencies or
contributing to revenue growth. This is to say that the effectiveness of human resource management in
an organization has the ability to bring about change, meet the organizations goals, and be able to
expand workers commitment, energy and accomplishments. Another way HRM can influence an
organization is through its talent philosophy.

Psychoactive Drugs And Its Effects On Human Consciousness
A psychoactive drug is any substance that can be used to change brain function. This resulting change
is responsible for alterations in perception, mood, and consciousness. As long as man has had a basic
grasp on understanding consciousness they have tried delving deeper and deeper into their own
consciousness and not only grown a larger respect for just how deep they can go but have had
experiences that have encouraged them to go deeper. Rock paintings and fossil finds from as far back
as 10,000 years ago offer scientific evidence and proof of the extremely long and exciting history of
psychedelic drugs. Unfortunately it wouldn t be until the 20th century that we would actually start to
understand just how valuable and versatile these substances truly would be. From religious and
spiritual uses to medicinal and more, psychoactive drugs, particularly ones more in the realm of
psychedelics, are more important to learning and understanding our own consciousness than we can
even understand.
Terence McKenna, an American philosopher who focused on the nature of consciousness and the
relationship between consciousness and psychedelic drugs, was a firm believer that the nature of
consciousness and the evolution of man was all owed to the incorporation of psychedelic mushrooms
into the early mans diet. He believes that the psychedelics in their diet are what promoted self
realization and eventually prompted our earliest ancestors to develop language. Archaeologists credit

Interdependence On Canada
Canada has always been dependent on the United States Pierre Trudeau once said, Living next to you
(the United States) is in some ways like sleeping with an elephant. No matter how friendly and even
tempered is the beast, if I can call it that, one is affected by every twitch and grunt. This saying gives a
deep understanding of what Canada s relationship with the States was like. The U.S. is a country that
has flourished throughout history and Canada was right behind. The U.S has almost 10 times more the
population than Canada. So, Canada has depended on the U.S for simple things such as getting tourists
from them to visit Canada. It is evident that Canada s dependence on the U.S, was higher than

The isolationism policy was an approach to not get involved in any world affairs. This was initially

U.S. that they used the same policy. Another example of their dependence on the U.S. was during the
Vietnam War. Canada depended on the U.S. by selling 2.7 billion dollars of war materials so that it
would help them financially. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), is a great example of
how Canada depended on the U.S. Both the countries were afraid of the Soviet Union attacking, so
NATO helped with Canada and the U.S coming together to protect themselves from the Soviet Union

The Oversexualizing Of Women In Japanese Anime And Manga
The Oversexualizing of
Women in Japanese Anime and Manga The Japanese are a very creative culture which have produced
several fantastic science fiction movies such as Gojira, which was an allegory for the use of atomic
bombs in war to the animated cartoons, known as anime in America, like Space Battleship Yamato
which portrayed the story of all the nations of the planet Earth joining forces to defeat an alien
invasion. Yamato and other anime like Mach A Go Go had female characters in the shows that were
both allies and sometimes love interest to the main characters, but still were depicted as strong female
role models and were drawn with normal features and body types. However, as time has passed,
women in anime have been more and more sexualized and this has had an effect on how young people
look at Japanese culture and women in particular. In this paper, the effects of this practice will be
observed. With the anime boom of the last few years, the way women have been portrayed in these
animated cartoons has been more and more sexualized. Shows such as Fairy Tale depict the female
leads as scantily clad fighters with rather large breast. Even the youngest girl on the show that is
around the age of 11 to 12 is depicted with larger than normal breast. One of the main reasons for this
is the rather strong patriarchal view of women in Japan that is still there to this day. The article titled A

Loyalty In The Odyssey Analysis
Odysseus in the epic poetry The Odyssey, written by Homer, is trying to make his way home after the
long and treacherous Trojan War, which he fought in. Odysseus throughout the book has gotten
himself into many tricky situations, however Athena, the goddess of wisdom and military victory, has
been beside him and aiding him through his journey home. Loyalty is an aspect of life, which Athena
portrays throughout the entire epic poetry. Athena throughout the epic poem, The Odyssey, has shown
her loyalty to Odysseus and his family in his journey to return home. In the beginning of the epic
poem, the hopeful words of Athena encouraged Telémakhos to gain intel on Odysseus s whereabouts.
Athena who is disguised as MentĂȘs is bringing hope into TelĂ©makhos about his father when she says,
He will not, now, be long away from Ithaka, his father s dear land; though he be in chains he ll scheme
a way to come; he can do anything. (page 7 8, lines 247 249) Athena says this so that Telémakhos will
not feel that his father has abandoned him, and that he will come home soon to fix the mess at home.
She is trying to make Telémakhos believe that his father will come home soon to see his son that he
had wanted to see for years. Telémakhos in this part of the text says, Friend, you have done me
kindness, like a father to his son, and I shall never forget you counsel ever. (pg 11, line 355 357)

Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes
Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes
Volcanoes are a big mound that erupts and spews out lava, when it erupts the lava flows down the side
of the volcano and when it cools down it turns to rock. As it erupts rocks fly out and can cause a huge
amount of damage and quite often kill people. When volcanoes erupt they create a large ash cloud.
There are three main types of volcanoes, these are Cinder Cone, Shield and Composite volcanoes.
Cinder Cone
Cinder Cone Volcanoes are small, hill sized volcanoes that range in height from tens to hundreds of
meters. Cinder cones are the simplest and most common type of volcano. Cinder cones can grow
quickly, but they don t become giants. They can build up over short periods of a few months to a few

Importance Of Self Reflection In Fielding s Diary Helen...
Self reflection is something everyone does on a day to day basis. The way a person thinks about their
self really alters their personality, but that is not the only thing it affects. Through self reflection a
person can exacerbate insecurities. Insecurities tend to be an obstacle when it comes to love. Self
reflection can have a positive or negative affect on one s love life. In the novel Bridget Jones s Diary
Helen Fielding s main character Bridget, writes about how there are many things about her lifestyle
that she would like to change. In fact, majority of her storyline involves countless references to her
insecurities, which is not healthy. To many, Bridget is known as a sexist portrayal of pathetic,
desperate woman, while to others she is looked at as a feminist icon. The novel demonstrates the
themes self reflection and insecurities so well, because it is about an insecure girl who is just looking
for love, but doesn t quite love herself just yet. Fielding entwines these two themes to show how
women perceive themselves through self reflection and how much it impacts their self esteem. Her
main character, Bridget demonstrates how hard it is to be a girl in today s society because we are so

The Effect Of The Limiting Factor On The Speed Of...
4.3 Design physics: The limiting factor on the speed of an air gun, fire arm, or light gas gun is the
speed of sound in the working fluid the air, burning gunpowder, or a light gas. This is essentially
because the projectile is accelerated by the pressure difference between its ends, and such a pressure
wave cannot propagate any faster than the speed of sound in the medium. The speed of sound in
helium is about three times that in air, and in hydrogen 3.8 times that in air. The speed of sound also
increases with the temperature of the fluid (but is independent of the pressure), so the heat formed by
the compression of the working fluid serves to increase the maximum possible speed. Spring piston
airguns increase the temperature of the air in the chamber by adiabatic heating; this raises the local
speed of sound enough to overcome frictional and other efficiency losses and propel the projectile at
more than the speed of sound in the ambient conditions.
4.4 Impact profile: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously, a dense, narrow projectile will apply more pressure overall than a light and wide one.
Looking at constant cross sectional projectiles, researchers have recently begun to vary their
projectiles density as a function of length. Since the projectiles travel at a known velocity, changes in
density as a function of length have a predictable relationship to the impact pressure applied as a
function of time. With materials in a wide range of densities (from tungsten powder to glass
microsphere) applied in thin layers, carefully made projectiles can be used in constant pressure
experiments, or even controlled compression expansion compression

Gujranwala has a moderately radiant history. Gujranwala, on the Grand Trunk

genogram and ecomap may be defined as a visual tool for exploring a client s social relationships
across time. Typically, these are familial relationships. In general, the genogram is useful in gathering
information, understanding relationship dynamics and behavioral patterns, promoting the client s self
understanding, conducting assessments, and guiding the practitioner to interventions (Pope, N. D.,
Lee, J.,2015). Social workers use genograms to gather information like values and ethics. Genograms

DNAAnd DNAAnalysis
Part A
Done on the attached paper.
Answers to questions
1) How were you able to derive amino acids from your DNA sequence?
First of all, from the sense strand given in the question, I derived the antisense strand for it. This is
done by using the complementary Nitrogenous base concept. Guanine complements Cytosine,
Thymine complements Adenine and vice versa. Once this is done, we obtain the antisense strand.
Now the antisense strand is transcribed into messenger RNA (mRNA). Again Cytosine becomes
Guanine, Guanine becomes cytosine, Adenine becomes Uracil and thiamine becomes Adenine. In this
way we obtain an (mRNA) strand with codons (combinations of three nitrogenous bases). Now we
obtain the tRNA by converting the codons into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In transcription, a DNA sequence is read by an RNA polymerase, which produces a complementary,
antisense RNA strand called a primary transcript from a strand of DNA called sense strand.
In contrast with DNA replication, transcription results in an RNA complement that includes the
nucleotideUracil (U) in all cases where Thymine (T) would have been in a DNA complement.
Only one of the two strands of DNA act as a template for transcription. The antisense strand of DNA
is read by RNA polymerase starting from the 3 end to the 5 end during transcription which proceeds
from 3 end to the 5 end. The complementary RNA is created in the exact opposite direction, i.e. the 5
to 3 direction, matching the sequence of the sensestrand with the exception of replacing uracil with
thymine. This directionality occursas RNA polymerase is only able to add nucleotides to the 3 end of
the elongating mRNA chain.
The non template or sensestrand of DNA is termed as the coding strand as its sequence is the same as
the newly created RNA transcript (except for the replacement of uracil for thymine)
.
Transcription proceeds in the following general steps:
1. RNA polymerase, together with one or some other general transcription factors, binds to promoter
DNA.
2. RNA polymerase makes a transcription bubble, which divides the two strands of the DNA helix.
This is achieved by breaking the hydrogen bonds between complementary

The Major Impacts Of Natural Disasters In Turkey
Turkey faces numerous natural disasters a year. The top three are earthquakes, floods, and landslides.
Earthquakes have cost the economy over a billion dollars in the past decade. 66% of the country is
located in active fault zones. On average, 950 die from earthquakes each year, and this is the 3rd
highest rate in the world. Around 15% of the total disaster losses are caused by floods, and around
16% of total disaster losses are caused by landslides. Since there are so many natural disasters, an
emergency project is created to help deal with these disasters. The Istanbul Seismic Risk Mitigation
and Emergency Preparedness Project (ISMEP), was created over 10 years ago. Some of their goals
include strengthening the capacity of emergency management and enhancing the development laws
and building codes, so buildings are not as likely to be destroyed and people will be safer.
Additionally, there are disaster management centers. On the European side of Turkey, HASDAL is
there to provide security and safety for residents affected. The counterpart on the Asian side of Turkey
is known as FSM KOZYATAGI. These centers are vital assets for the country in times of natural
disaster (Erdurmus, n.d.). These natural disasters can have major impacts on the supply chain and can
cause Turkey to lose millions in trade. For example, if a flood ruins the ports and surrounding areas,
the goods cannot be received or sent from other countries. Since Turkey depends on their ports, this

Menstruation History
During menstruation throughout history, the progression of menstrual products has subjugated women
to unimaginable methods. In ancient Egypt, women used softened papyrus tampons, while the Greeks
utilized lint wrapped around small pieces of wood, and the Romans wore pads and tampons made of
soft wool. Considered impure in the Jewish culture during biblical times, the proclivity of physically
separating women from men during menstruation is habitual, as well as any object they touched or sat
on. These fads were perpetuated in Europe in the 1800s. With a more natural approach, women during
this period allowed their menstruation to bleed into their clothing. Creatively, women used homemade
pads in America, during the 1900s, similar to baby diapers: Others wore menstrual pad belts secured
by suspenders. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The three major organic companies that sell natural menstrual products are GladRags, Natracare, and
Organic Essentials. On the go, these small companies offer disposable cotton pads and organic
tampons. While others may consider as taboo, reusable alternatives are made of Cloth, sponge or
menstrual cup; safer for the environment and the consumer. Many of these non commercialized
menstrual products do not contain dioxin or pesticides, unfortunately, they vary in price as well as
accessibility, from limited marketing and awareness. Ruminating the options by consumers, cultural
and economic factors play a role. For over a decade, commercialized products have conveniently been
available through the media and advertising. Even more important to note, natural feminine hygiene
products are available and considered a safer approach to menstruation. Preserving the health of the
female anatomy should be considered, for the benefit of future

‘The main reason for conservative dominance in the years...
The main reason for conservative dominance in the years 1951 to 1964 was labour disunity Assess the
validity of this view. (June 2011)
Labour disunity was a huge contributing factor as to why the conservatives were able to dominate
from 1951 to 1964. However, there are also other factors that assisted conservative dominance.
Whether that be conservative strengths, good timing, the end of austerity or their handle on public
opinion, all factors contributed to the dominant years. However, how long the conservatives actually
dominated is also a question. Did they dominate for the whole period, or just part of it? The years
1962 1964 question conservative dominance and how labour reunited.
One of the major reasons why Conservatives were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure to exploit opportunities was also another labour problem. The 1956 sued crisis provided labour
with a great opportunity to get back on the attack. If there had been a general election in 1957 then
things may have favoured labour. However, Suez did not split the conservatives and labour were left
with few targets to aim at in hoping to gain more supporters. The Labour party s inability to counter
conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity.
As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated.
Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused by
the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives in
improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation.
The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee government.
Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time. There can be no outright rejection of the
welfare state, nor a total reversal of nationalisation. Attitudes towards industry, the trade unions and
social policy were going to have to be very different from the 1930s because the experiences of the
war years had made people far more ready to accept the need for state intervention and planning. The
post war years had seen living standards rise, proving to be very popular

The Role Of Political Consensus In Pop Culture
Political Consensus and Pop Culture of World War II
World War II continues to be the most tremendous global war throughout history. This war effected
everyone, especially the political beliefs in each country that was involved. In America, the role of pop
culture made an impact on the political consensus of Americans in a constructional manner. During
World War II, the entertainment industry effectively helped produce a national consensus celebrating
the American way of life. Consequently, this patriotism led America s unity to defend their country
against Germany, Italy, Japan, and later the Soviet Union s communism. Pop culture provided many
opportunities of amusement and influenced Americans viewpoint of themselves and their country. But
during 1941, many entertainment industries still had major downfalls due to the war, which puts the
role and destiny of pop culture into question. The resources that entertainment ... Show more content

Ultimately, the trend of music made a tremendous impact on political consensus. For instance, the role
of music made a psychological fighting force, while the government s propaganda office urged the
music industry to produce freedom songs with lots of flags waving. Right after Pearl Harbor
happened, many writers hurried publishers to publish songs encouraged by the event. But the citizens
didn t want war songs; they wanted songs they can relate to, such as songs about home, relationships,
family, and fun. Many war songs expressed loneliness, which was a since of annoyance with wartime
sacrifice and departure. However, the song White Christmas that was not about the war became a hit
in the United States and sort of the anthem for World War II, selling over thirty two million copies.
Basically, pop culture did less to evoke martial spirit among citizens than it did to provide a much
needed diversion from wartime suffering and

Coaches Have Talent And Dedication Essay
So many Coaches have talent and dedication for what they do. I m proud to play for one that has a
spectacular history of coaching. That coach is Dennis Lorio, who Graduated from LSU (Louisiana

that he is very dedicated and hardworking coach. As of now he is 62 years old and still willing to
coach. It s not the same without coaching. The joy and the sorrow I feel during the season has been
addicted to me. I ve been in this game almost all my life and that is a very long time.
From the article of Sports Nola, Nick Kreugar wrote about Dennis Lorio:
He was offensive coordinator at East St. John for the past two years, but resigned for family reasons
last October. He is well known for his time at Thibodaux and led them to the inaugural 5A state
championship in 1991. Lorio also spent time as LSU offensive line coach from 1992 94 and returned
to Thibodaux in 2008 leading the Tigers to a 27 12 record with 5A state quarterfinal playoff runs in
2008 and 2009. He has a career coaching record of 105 70.
Even tough he lives in New Orleans, he drives an hour for his work every day. In 2013, Coach Lorio
took a challenge by coaching the Morgan City Tigers after he resigned from Thibodaux. He came to to
Morgan City knowing that Morgan city never made it to the playoff over a decade. He has seen

Wicca In American Culture
What is Wicca? IN today s culture, it is all too easy to confuse the Wiccan religion with those of the
satanic nature we see in movies and on TV shows. However, I have found that we as people outside
looking in have been easily influences by the media.
With respect to the Wicca culture, I chose to explore 3 significant pieces that I also found in the
metaphysical store. 1) The Pentagram, 2) Rituals and Herbalism, 3) The Broom. When I finished
conducting my research, I found that Wicca is no cult, or outlandish following that people cannot
relate to. Rather, it takes spirituality, religion, and the mind, and marry them together, creating an
existence of people who are constantly fighting the split between the mind, nature, and the body.
History: Gerald Gardner, a studier of the occult and magic came back to England in after the
beginning of WWII, he published his first book on witchcraft called Witchcraft Today (Britannica). He
was able to do so after England abolished its witchcraft laws, and later created his first coven of
followers to create the form of witchcraft we know as Wicca. The religion s popularity grew in the
west, due to the emphasis on nature, assorted living styles, and split from ... Show more content on

  • 2. The Government s Background Investigation Essay Topic: The US government s background investigation process for individuals seeking employment with US Federal, State, and Local government agencies and private sector organizations is an important part of US homeland security. Through a thorough investigation of an individual s biographical, residential, employment, education, military, medical, financial and legal histories, etc., information regarding an applicant s background is obtained and a report of investigation (ROI) is prepared and submitted to an adjudicator for review. After review of the ROI, the adjudicator makes a determination of an individual s suitability to obtain a security clearance for a position impacting the US national security. If the results of a background investigation are favorably adjudicated, the individual is eligible to receive a security clearance; if certain derogatory information is obtained during the background investigation, an individual can be denied a security clearance. Problem: Although much personal and private information is obtained and reviewed during most background investigations, there is one glaring omission of information that can prove to be valuable in determining the suitability for an individual to obtain a security clearance. The information listed on an individual s social media accounts (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, Internet Chat rooms) can provide invaluable insight into a subject s character, integrity, loyalty, allegiance and other characteristics ... • 4. Monte Cristo History The Count of Monte Cristo is a movie based off of the book written by Alexandre Dumas and directed by Kevin Reynolds. The movie is not entirely historically accurate and was written mostly for entertainment purposes. There are various events throughout the movie that include historical references, however it is a very minor aspect of the movie. The historical references in the movie do not intend to create a real story as a history textbook would. They are there to add an interesting finesse to the story without straying away from the main plot. One of these major historical references is Napoleon exile to Elba, and his attempt to come back to power in France. The film is 131 minutes and came out in 2002. The movie begins on the Island of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was never created to follow an exact event in the past, but was more created as a fictional plot with historical aspects to it. Many would criticize the movie because of its lack of accurately portraying the time period and following historical events, however I believe that it did a good job of throwing in historical sites throughout the movie. The movie also has references to common problems that everyday people face, regardless of the time they are from or where they live. For example, Fernand Montego played by Guy Pearce is a jealous best friend who purposely sabotages Edmond and gets him thrown into prison. This is all just so he could get his girl and feel better about himself. This problem is very similar to problems people deal with every day. People are constantly caught up in jealousy, which causes them to do horrible things such as betraying their lifetime best friend. Another major theme in the story that is seen in every day life is revenge. Edmond gets so caught up in giving all those that crossed him what they deserved that he nearly loses the woman he loves and his best friend. This is something that people get involved in all the time in todays world. We get so caught up in giving others what we think they deserve that we almost lose those who are closest to us. One minor thing that stood out to me ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Brown V Board Of Education Landmark Supreme Court Cases ïŹ Brown v Board of Education (1954)  The Background: In the 1950 s, schools were separated by race. Linda Brown and her sister had to walk down a dangerous railroad switchyard to get to the bus stop to their all black elementary school. There was an all white school closer to the Brown s house, and the Brown family believed that segregated schools violated the Constitution.  The Constitutional Issue: This issue violated the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth amendment because segregated schools for people of race are unconstitutional and unequal.  The Outcome: The Supreme Court states that segregated schools could never be equal to each other. The Court decided that laws requiring separate schools violated the Fourteenth Amendment. This decision supports that all people are equal. As a student, I am affected because people of different race are welcome to go to school where I go to school. ïŹ Mapp v Ohio (1961)  The Background: The police were suspicious of Dollree Mapp hiding a person suspected in a bombing. They went to her house and demanded entrance, but Mapp would not let them in because they did not have a warrant. The police broke into her house and found evidence of crime. At the trial, the police could not show their warrant at the U.S. Supreme Court.  The Constitutional Issue: This violated the Fourth Amendment, because the Fourth Amendment protects the people from unreasonable search and seizure by the government.  The ... • 6. Summary Of To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf Reading the novel To The Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf was hard labor. Every page I turned made me feel that I was in a different place at a different time. Due to the lack of its plot and entertainment, this novel, unfortunately, would immediately fail to engage teenagers, as well as other readers, who are not as interested as Virginia Woolf, to study the humans consciousness and the way time moves over the courses of our days. In our everyday lives, we always expect, including myself, to read a story that has a well structured plot and that also brings us to a journey that will remain with us forever. While it is true that, I was notified multiple times that modernist novels are texts that will either keep a person up all night staring at the clock on the wall, pressing their back against the wall or pulling their skin off their bones, I still expected to find a story in To The Lighthouse that unfolds through a chronological order because there is always a cause and effect, a beginning, middle, and end, to every story. However, this was not to be the case. Part one of the novel did not have a story at all. It was mainly characters consciousness flowing into one another across the pages, because of that, I almost wanted to throw the book in the air and even to burn it to dust. However, now that I am looking back, I would have never picked up this book to read by the shore under the summer skies. Despite the disorganization of part one, I managed to get through from page to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Physics for Industries INTRODUCTION Physics attempts to describe the fundamental nature of the universe and how it works, always striving for the simplest explanations common to the most diverse behaviour. For example, physics explains why rainbows have colours, what keeps a satellite in orbit, and what atoms and nuclei are made of. The goal of physics is to explain as many things as possible using as few laws as possible, revealing nature s underlying simplicity and beauty. Physics has been applied in many industrial fields, which include the air industry, construction industry, automobile industry, manufacturing industry and many others. All these industries apply physics in one way or another. For example a car that moves from one point to another has to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The fluid moving over the top travels a greater distance than the moving just under the bottom of the wing. Consequently, the fluid moving over the top must travel faster in order to conform to the shape of the wing and still maintain the natural streamline. The shape of the wing also crowds the streamlines together above the wing, just as in the case of a constructing pipe. The result is that of the region immediately above the wing. Because the downward force on the top of the wing is less than the upward force on the bottom, a net upward force, or lift, arises from the airflow. (Beyond the airfoil the flowing air has a downward component of velocity. By Newton s third law, the reaction force to the net downward force exerted on the air is the lift.) For lift to occur, a flow of air is required relative to the wing. The lift occurs equally well for a wing moving through stationary air or for moving past a stationary wing. In general, as the flow of air past the wing increases, both the lift force and the drag force (the resistance to forward motion) increases. According to Breithaipt (2000), aircraft wings are designed so that pilots can change the wing shape during flight, producing greater lift for the slower speeds of takeoff and landing and producing less drag at cruising extended ... Secondly the study did not combine methods such as questionnaire to increase the sample magnitude. According to the findings of the study the information gathered was adequate to logical argument about the fact that delayed removal of catheter was leading to patients contraction of infections through the examination of the symptoms shown by some of the patients. Most of the uncertainties were associated with lack of information, as one of the female participant conveyed dissatisfaction with information provided to her before surgery, which instigated to the need for the search of information online, this information helped her after the surgery. • 10. The Electronic Medical Record For a nation to be technologically advanced, the United States (U.S.) is having a hard time overcoming the dark era of utilizing hand written scripts, progress notes, and paper records. In comparison to other countries, the U.S. is lagging behind in the health care system. Even with all the improvements that have been made recently, the U.S. ranked last in 2014 in areas such as access, efficiency and equity compared to Australia, Canada, France Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom (Davis, Stremikis, Squires, Schoen, 2014). Now, as our nation is trying to improve the quality, access, and proficiency of our health care, concerns have been raised whether the new policies are adequate enough for privacy amongst sharing and obtaining health information. This paper was put together to give background information on how the electronic medical record came about and whether privacy is a major concern amongst the American population. Background The dark era of medical records caused people s private health information not to be safe. A few examples of how patient records were not protected includes patient records were found in dumpsters outside of physician s offices, patient records were found washed ashore in Maine, and in one instance a teacher from Salt Lake City purchased medical records from 28 Florida hospitals to use as scrap paper for her students (Thede, 2010). Discipleship is about engaging in the Word, following and obeying Jesus and going out to make disciples. An essential element in being a disciple is to be open to learning, to be teachable. It is a mindset to be continuously adopted and cultivated. For us to disciple others, we must be a better disciple ourselves. • 12. Ester Lucero Essay Cassie Essary Tim Petete Ethnic American Literature November 12, 2009 Angel s Psyche in Ester Lucero One of the most fascinating aspects of any story is the formation of it scharacters. The way the author chooses to describe them, give them personalities, is how the reader will see their lives. A character s psyche and the way he thinks about events around him change the way a reader perceives the story. Authors have an amazing chance to shape and bend a story to fit what they want it to be through the characterization of the people they write about. If an author is incapable of making characters believable and understandable, the story won t survive. In Isabel Allende s Ester Lucero , Angel is described in a way that makes ... Ester became something that he desperately wanted, but could never allow himself to have. She was a child, and he would not allow himself to touch her for that reason, and because his obsession with her is what keeps him going. Ester became the focus of all his attention so he didn t have to deal with anything else in his life. Another issue with Angel is the fact that he has a bullet in his groin. The women of the town question his masculinity and begin to wonder if maybe the malaria or that bullet he has there in his crotch rid him forever of a taste for women (Pearson 10). They don t realize that he has become completely engrossed with Ester and therefore uninterested in the other women of the town. Since Angel does have a bullet in his groin, and purposefully chose an unavailable girl to fixate on, it makes the reader wonder if the bullet did cause some sort of dysfunction. Perhaps the reason that Angel deliberately chose a girl that he could never have was because he knew women wouldn t want him if they knew that he was impotent. Early on, when it is Angel s turn with a bride for the moment he found no consolation ...he would have to search for that girl, if for no other reason than to determine whether she was a mirage (Pearson 9). However, as a form of checks and balances, the branches should not be separated to the point of having no constitutional control over each other. Madison stated Liberty requires that the three great departments of power should be separate and distinct. (Federalist paper #51) but ..they may be a check on the other (Federalist paper #51) meaning that the three branches have separate powers, but are able to have constitutional control on each other. For example, Legislative branch can approve the presidential nomination, override a president s veto, and impeach the president from the executive branch while the senate confirms the president s nominations for the judges and remove them from the office from the judicial branch . While, the executive branch can veto the congressional legislation from the legislative branch and nominate judges for the judicial branch. The judicial branch can declare presidential acts unconstitutional in the executive branch and declare laws unconstitutional to the legislative branch. (Document C). Framer guarded against tyranny through separation of powers but still being able to check on each other and having constitutional control on each other. The branches should be separate and distinct as if they were together, it would be given too much absolute power to one group. According to Management Study Guide (n.d.), human resource management is the practice of managing individuals in an organization through an organized and systematic method. Human resource management affects an organization by executing the procedures and policies and warranting that the complaints of employees are taken care of. Given the different roles taken on by the human resource management, it is vital to the attainment of an organization. Today, we will be looking at three different ways in which human resource management affects an organization. One, look at how human resource management influence an organizational performance. Next, I will be sharing information on organizational culture, and then the practices of human resource management in an organization. First, taking a look at how HRM influences organizational performances. According to authors Phillips, J and Gully, S., human resource management policies and practices add value to organization and influences organizational performances by either improving efficiencies or contributing to revenue growth. This is to say that the effectiveness of human resource management in an organization has the ability to bring about change, meet the organizations goals, and be able to expand workers commitment, energy and accomplishments. • 15. Psychoactive Drugs And Its Effects On Human Consciousness A psychoactive drug is any substance that can be used to change brain function. This resulting change is responsible for alterations in perception, mood, and consciousness. As long as man has had a basic grasp on understanding consciousness they have tried delving deeper and deeper into their own consciousness and not only grown a larger respect for just how deep they can go but have had experiences that have encouraged them to go deeper. Rock paintings and fossil finds from as far back as 10,000 years ago offer scientific evidence and proof of the extremely long and exciting history of psychedelic drugs. Unfortunately it wouldn t be until the 20th century that we would actually start to understand just how valuable and versatile these substances truly would be. From religious and spiritual uses to medicinal and more, psychoactive drugs, particularly ones more in the realm of psychedelics, are more important to learning and understanding our own consciousness than we can even understand. Terence McKenna, an American philosopher who focused on the nature of consciousness and the relationship between consciousness and psychedelic drugs, was a firm believer that the nature of consciousness and the evolution of man was all owed to the incorporation of psychedelic mushrooms into the early mans diet. He believes that the psychedelics in their diet are what promoted self realization and eventually prompted our earliest ancestors to develop language. Archaeologists credit the use ... This saying gives a deep understanding of what Canada s relationship with the States was like. The U.S. is a country that has flourished throughout history and Canada was right behind. The U.S has almost 10 times more the population than Canada. So, Canada has depended on the U.S for simple things such as getting tourists from them to visit Canada. Canada depended on the U.S. by selling 2.7 billion dollars of war materials so that it would help them financially. The Oversexualizing Of Women In Japanese Anime And Manga The Oversexualizing of Women in Japanese Anime and Manga The Japanese are a very creative culture which have produced several fantastic science fiction movies such as Gojira, which was an allegory for the use of atomic bombs in war to the animated cartoons, known as anime in America, like Space Battleship Yamato which portrayed the story of all the nations of the planet Earth joining forces to defeat an alien invasion. Yamato and other anime like Mach A Go Go had female characters in the shows that were both allies and sometimes love interest to the main characters, but still were depicted as strong female role models and were drawn with normal features and body types. However, as time has passed, women in anime have been more and more sexualized and this has had an effect on how young people look at Japanese culture and women in particular. In this paper, the effects of this practice will be observed. With the anime boom of the last few years, the way women have been portrayed in these animated cartoons has been more and more sexualized. Shows such as Fairy Tale depict the female leads as scantily clad fighters with rather large breast. Even the youngest girl on the show that is around the age of 11 to 12 is depicted with larger than normal breast. One of the main reasons for this is the rather strong patriarchal view of women in Japan that is still there to this day. Odysseus throughout the book has gotten himself into many tricky situations, however Athena, the goddess of wisdom and military victory, has been beside him and aiding him through his journey home. Loyalty is an aspect of life, which Athena portrays throughout the entire epic poetry. Athena throughout the epic poem, The Odyssey, has shown her loyalty to Odysseus and his family in his journey to return home. In the beginning of the epic poem, the hopeful words of Athena encouraged TelĂ©makhos to gain intel on Odysseus s whereabouts. Athena who is disguised as MentĂȘs is bringing hope into TelĂ©makhos about his father when she says, He will not, now, be long away from Ithaka, his father s dear land; though he be in chains he ll scheme a way to come; he can do anything. (page 7 8, lines 247 249) Athena says this so that TelĂ©makhos will not feel that his father has abandoned him, and that he will come home soon to fix the mess at home. She is trying to make TelĂ©makhos believe that his father will come home soon to see his son that he had wanted to see for years. TelĂ©makhos in this part of the text says, Friend, you have done me kindness, like a father to his son, and I shall never forget you counsel ever. Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes Cinder Cone, Shield, Composite Volcanoes Volcanoes are a big mound that erupts and spews out lava, when it erupts the lava flows down the side of the volcano and when it cools down it turns to rock. As it erupts rocks fly out and can cause a huge amount of damage and quite often kill people. When volcanoes erupt they create a large ash cloud. There are three main types of volcanoes, these are Cinder Cone, Shield and Composite volcanoes. Cinder Cone Cinder Cone Volcanoes are small, hill sized volcanoes that range in height from tens to hundreds of meters. Cinder cones are the simplest and most common type of volcano. Cinder cones can grow quickly, but they don t become giants. They can build up over short periods of a few months to a few years. A cinder cone is also called a scoria cone. • 21. Importance Of Self Reflection In Fielding s Diary Helen... Self reflection is something everyone does on a day to day basis. The way a person thinks about their self really alters their personality, but that is not the only thing it affects. Through self reflection a person can exacerbate insecurities. Insecurities tend to be an obstacle when it comes to love. Self reflection can have a positive or negative affect on one s love life. In the novel Bridget Jones s Diary Helen Fielding s main character Bridget, writes about how there are many things about her lifestyle that she would like to change. In fact, majority of her storyline involves countless references to her insecurities, which is not healthy. To many, Bridget is known as a sexist portrayal of pathetic, desperate woman, while to others she is looked at as a feminist icon. The novel demonstrates the themes self reflection and insecurities so well, because it is about an insecure girl who is just looking for love, but doesn t quite love herself just yet. Fielding entwines these two themes to show how women perceive themselves through self reflection and how much it impacts their self esteem. Her main character, Bridget demonstrates how hard it is to be a girl in today s society because we are so brainwashed by what we are supposed to be. Bridget is a very lonely girl that drinks heavily and smokes cigarettes often. In fact, at the top of every diary entry she lists what her alcohol intake and cigarette count is, along with her weight, and her calorie intake. Bridget is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 23. The Effect Of The Limiting Factor On The Speed Of... 4.3 Design physics: The limiting factor on the speed of an air gun, fire arm, or light gas gun is the speed of sound in the working fluid the air, burning gunpowder, or a light gas. This is essentially because the projectile is accelerated by the pressure difference between its ends, and such a pressure wave cannot propagate any faster than the speed of sound in the medium. The speed of sound in helium is about three times that in air, and in hydrogen 3.8 times that in air. The speed of sound also increases with the temperature of the fluid (but is independent of the pressure), so the heat formed by the compression of the working fluid serves to increase the maximum possible speed. Spring piston airguns increase the temperature of the air in the chamber by adiabatic heating; this raises the local speed of sound enough to overcome frictional and other efficiency losses and propel the projectile at more than the speed of sound in the ambient conditions. 4.4 Impact profile: ... First of all, from the sense strand given in the question, I derived the antisense strand for it. This is done by using the complementary Nitrogenous base concept. Guanine complements Cytosine, Thymine complements Adenine and vice versa. Once this is done, we obtain the antisense strand. Now the antisense strand is transcribed into messenger RNA (mRNA). Again Cytosine becomes Guanine, Guanine becomes cytosine, Adenine becomes Uracil and thiamine becomes Adenine. In this way we obtain an (mRNA) strand with codons (combinations of three nitrogenous bases). Now we obtain the tRNA by converting the codons into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In transcription, a DNA sequence is read by an RNA polymerase, which produces a complementary, antisense RNA strand called a primary transcript from a strand of DNA called sense strand. In contrast with DNA replication, transcription results in an RNA complement that includes the nucleotideUracil (U) in all cases where Thymine (T) would have been in a DNA complement. Only one of the two strands of DNA act as a template for transcription. The antisense strand of DNA is read by RNA polymerase starting from the 3 end to the 5 end during transcription which proceeds from 3 end to the 5 end. The complementary RNA is created in the exact opposite direction, i.e. the 5 to 3 direction, matching the sequence of the sensestrand with the exception of replacing uracil with thymine. This directionality occursas RNA polymerase is only able to add nucleotides to the 3 end of the elongating mRNA chain. The non template or sensestrand of DNA is termed as the coding strand as its sequence is the same as the newly created RNA transcript (except for the replacement of uracil for thymine) . Transcription proceeds in the following general steps: 1. RNA polymerase, together with one or some other general transcription factors, binds to promoter DNA. 2. RNA polymerase makes a transcription bubble, which divides the two strands of the DNA helix. This is achieved by breaking the hydrogen bonds between complementary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Labour party s inability to counter conservative mistakes was a direct result of their disunity. As well as labour disunity there are other factors to consider as to why conservatives dominated. Firstly, the reorganisation of the party machine led by Lord Woolton after the dislocation caused by the war and the shock defeat for the conservatives in 1946 proved pivotal for the conservatives in improving their ideas (new conservatives with new ideas) and general organisation. The conservatives recognised the extent of public approval for the legacy of the Attlee government. Most Conservatives grasped the political realities of the time.
