Introduction
Main body – The Process
First, collecting
bags containing
blood is placed in
the centrifuge
machine.
After the spinning,
the red blood cells
will be deposited at
the bottom of the
collection bag.
The plasma, rich in
platelets is then
extracted into one of
the satellite bags.
White blood cells
suspended in the
plasma are
removed through
filtration.
The bag of platelets
- rich plasma is then
centrifuged too
extract the
platelets.
Finally, nutrients – rich
solution is added into
red blood cells in the
original collection bag.
These are called the
packed red blood cell.
The Process
Collecting bags containing
blood.
The collecting bags being
placed in the centrifuge
machine and is set for "soft
spin”.
The Process
The plasma remains on the surface
and the white blood cell and
platelets remain suspended in the
plasma above the red blood cell.
Bag of platelet
Nutrient-rich red blood cells. These
are called packed red blood cell.
