This document outlines Luigi Stecco's biomechanical model of the myofascial system. It describes the myofascial unit as composed of motor units, a joint, nerves, vessels, and connecting fascia. Myofascial units work in sequences to enable multi-planar movement. Centres of coordination, perception, and fusion are points where forces from myofascial units converge. Myofascial diagonals and spirals connect these centres across the body. The model aims to simplify our understanding of the complex interactions within the fascial system to produce movement and maintain posture.
