The Bioinformatics Institute of India (BII) was established in 2002 and offers education and training programs in life sciences such as bioinformatics, clinical trials, pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, drug design, and biotechnology. BII provides various modes of training including distance learning programs, classroom programs, workshops, and corporate training. It has trained over 10,000 professionals from India and abroad and works with hundreds of companies and educational institutions.
Yeast two-hybrid is based on the reconstitution of a functional transcription factor (TF) when two proteins or polypeptides of interest interact. Upon interaction between the bait and the prey, the DBD and AD are brought in close proximity and a functional TF is reconstituted upstream of the reporter gene.
There are many characteristics of biological data. All these characteristics make the management of biological information a particularly challenging problem. Here mainly we will focus on characteristics of biological information and multidisciplinary field called bioinformatics. Bioinformatics, now a days has emerged with graduate degree programs in several universities.

This talk presents an on line decision support system for structural biologists who are interested in performing multiple protein structure comparisons, via multiple methods, in one go.
An introduction to bioinformatics practices and aims will be given and contrasted against approaches from other fields. Most importantly, it will be discussed how bioinformatics fits into the discovery cycle for hypothesis driven neuroscience research.
Ab Initio Protein Structure Prediction is a method to determine the tertiary structure of protein in the absence of experimentally solved structure of a similar/homologous protein. This method builds protein structure guided by energy function.
I had prepared this presentation for an internal project during my masters degree course.
The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is a database for the three-dimensional structural data of large biological molecules, such as proteins and nucleic acids. This presentation deals with what, why, how, where and who of PDB. In this presentation we have also included briefing about various file formats available in PDB with emphasis on PDB file format
This presentation, prepared by Gerry Lushington, is a friendly introduction to the basics of data mining, as applied to biological problems. The intended audience is students and scientific researchers from a non-computational background.
Genome annotation, NGS sequence data, decoding sequence information, The genome contains all the biological information required to build and maintain any given living organism.
Bioinformatics plays a significant role in the development of the agricultural sector, crop improvement,
agro-based industries, agricultural by-products utilization and better management of the
environment. With the increase of sequencing projects, bioinformatics continues to make
considerable progress in biology by providing scientists with access to the genomic information.
It is believed that we will take on another giant leap in bioinformatics field in next decade, where
computational models of systems wide properties could serve as the basis for experimentation
and discovery. Agricultural bioinform -atics areas that need focus would be are data curation and
need for the use of restricted vocabularies. Being an interface between modern biology and
informatics it involves discovery, development and implementation of computational algorithms
and software tools that facilitate an understanding of the biological processes with the goal to
serve primarily agriculture and healthcare sectors with several spinoffs.
High throughput next generation sequencing and robust transcriptome analysis help with gene expression profiling, gene annotation or discovery of non-coding RNA.
Homology modeling, also known as comparative modeling of protein, refers to constructing an atomic-resolution model of the "target" protein from its amino acid sequence and an experimental three-dimensional structure of a related homologous protein.
This presentation covers a general introduction to expression vector, its components, types, and its application. Then it covers some of the expression system with examples.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.
"Impact of front-end architecture on development cost", Viktor TurskyiFwdays
I have heard many times that architecture is not important for the front-end. Also, many times I have seen how developers implement features on the front-end just following the standard rules for a framework and think that this is enough to successfully launch the project, and then the project fails. How to prevent this and what approach to choose? I have launched dozens of complex projects and during the talk we will analyze which approaches have worked for me and which have not.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.
