The Bioinformatics Institute of India (BII) was established in 2002 and offers education and training programs in life sciences such as bioinformatics, clinical trials, pharmaceutical regulatory affairs, drug design, and biotechnology. BII provides various modes of training including distance learning programs, classroom programs, workshops, and corporate training. It has trained over 10,000 professionals from India and abroad and works with hundreds of companies and educational institutions.

Ab Initio Protein Structure Prediction is a method to determine the tertiary structure of protein in the absence of experimentally solved structure of a similar/homologous protein. This method builds protein structure guided by energy function.
