ABSTRACT
Hydraulic brakes are one of the most efficient brakes ever invented. They have a great scope over
automobile industry. Hydraulic brakes are eco friendly and economical too.
The following project report discusses the history of hydraulic brakes and their working in vehicles. It
also discusses its principle and its advantages and disadvantages over automobile and ... Show more

The initial, a parallel hydraulic powered mixture, basically unites the cross breed segments to a

demonstrating leadership within and outside the realms of the operating room. Ms Yap serves as staffs
nurse; she step up and assumes the responsibility of Special Equipment and Instrumentation
Coordinator. This proficiency report demonstrates examples of how Ms. Yap uses her nursing
knowledge and skills to provide nursing care exceeding the Qualification Standards in the four areas
for a Nurse I. Ms. Yap provided input to this proficiency.
PRACTICE / ETHICS / RESOURCE MANAGEMENT:
Team leader for the Eye Service. Ms Florence Yap coordinates with the prosthetics/ logistics, surgical
scheduling nurses, surgeons, and surgical service to ensure implants/lens availability for the eye cases.
The eye surgery has identified issues in implant availability leading to cancellations and
dissatisfaction among surgeons and patients. In the 1st quarter of FY2015, eye surgery has been
identified as the main outlier for lag time the. Since Ms Yap assumed the Lead RN for Eye Service,
first case start and lag time has improved tremendously; cancellation rate for eye cases (related to
implant availability) has lowered to zero percent. Dr McCartney, Dr Kishor and other eye surgeons
commend Ms Yap and her team in the improvement of the surgical metrics for the eye service.

My Observation At The Landlord And Tenant Supervisor
Introduction:
This report is based on my observation at the Landlord and Tenant Board which is located 3 Robert
Speck Parkway Suite 520 Mississauga, Ontario L47 2G5 on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 and
Wednesday, January 27th, 2016. Throughout the day at the Landlord and Tenant Board we had
observed many different cases.
In terms of location, the office building was in close juxtaposition to a public bus stop that had a route
that lead directly from Brampton. The bus schedule conveniently operated every 9 minutes. There
were two Brampton busses that lead into the location, the 502 and the 103. The bus was convenient
and reliable however if you are going everyday it will become very costly. If you are a tenant with a
car it is simple to drive from Brampton to Mississauga. The parking is conveniently in front of the
building, but there is a cost for parking; for the whole day $7.00, for an hour $5.25, for 40 minutes
$3.50 and for 20 minutes $1.75. As for the parking, it is convenient to have your own source of
transportation nonetheless it is quite costly.
When you walk into the building there is a front desk with a security guard able to direct you to the
floor you need to go to. The Landlord and Tenant Board is located on the 5th floor, the Board Office
has five separate cubicles with secretaries able to help you with various questions. The Board Office is
easy to find due to several signs on the wall; it was clean, quiet and orderly. The staff member at the
counter was very

Compartment C And Woman Reading On A Bench
Compare Contrast Good paintings not only create an opportunity for viewers to appreciate beauty, but
are good tools to convey values and influence viewers to do something that is really beneficial.
Edward Hopper s Compartment C was created in 1938, and Irving Wiles Woman Reading on a Bench
was created in 1899. Both paintings show a woman sitting in a chair reading a book, but the
composition, body language and color used in them are quite different with each other. Composition
shows both the artist s state when drawing the picture. Although the two above mentioned paintings
contain female figures who are in the right of the picture, they are not the same in composition.

Ruby Moon By Matt Cameron
Ruby Moon by Matt Cameron
The Artslink Queensland production of Ruby Moon by Matt Cameron can be described as an example
of the Australian Gothic dramatic style. Ruby Moon, set in picture perfect Flaming Tree Grove, is
about the tragic dilemma of a couple, Ray and Sylvie, trying to cope with the earlier disappearance of
their young daughter, Ruby, while on the way to visit her grandmother at the end of the cul de sac
(Queensland Education, 2014).
Matt Cameron s, Ruby Moon, is an award winning contemporary Australian playwright and
screenwriter based in Melbourne which depicts a uniquely Australian landscape; employing the
conventions of the Australian Gothic Theatrical style (Queensland Theatre Company, 2009). In the
production of Ruby Moon, the stage setting creates dramatic meaning and purpose. Ruby Moon is set
in an Australian suburban town in picture perfect Flaming Tree Grove where Ray and Sylvie s
daughter, Ruby, disappears on her way to visit her grandma at the end of the cul de sac (HCS, 2014).
The intimacy and secrecy of the Flaming Tree Grove community and its lack of safety adds to the
supernatural and paranormal intrusions of Australian Gothic Theatre. The Ruby Moon production was
fuelled and inspired by fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel,
and Alice in Wonderland, and also newspaper headings and stories about families and their missing
children scattered around the world. Matt Cameron s purpose of the production

Donald Trump And Race Relations
With Donald Trump s ascension to the presidency months ago, he inherited a nation divided on many
issues, including race relations. Thus, a question is raised: How has President Trump worked to
address the issue of race relations in the United States? He has promised to do everything he could to
help race relations improve and unify the country, as demonstrated by the quote: Today and every day
of my presidency I pledge to do everything I can to continue that promise of freedom for African
Americans and for every American...We re going to bring this country together (Cottman, 2017).
Unfortunately, it does not seem likely that race relations will improve so as long as Trump remains
president. The facts below will prove that Trump has worsened race relations in America, and
deepened the justifiable fear of division which many Americans feel. Such a conclusion can be clearly
made through the observation of his past and present conduct.
Trump promised on the campaign trail to dramatically improve the lives of African Americans, saying
Every African American citizen in this country is entitled to a government that puts their jobs, wages
and security first. ... Here is the promise that I make to you: Whether you vote for me or not, I will be
your greatest champion (Swerdlick, 2017). Though Trump seems sincere in the quote, how is his
relationship with African Americans? Notwithstanding his claim to have a great relationship with the
blacks (Westover, 2016), Trump s past record

Intelligence And Ignorance By Mein Kampf
Intelligence and Ignorance Reading, it s a journey through time and space, taking us to lands we have
never seen or heard of, meeting people and creatures along the way that we never would have
expected to meet before. Reading is its own adventure, but does it make us nicer people, yes.
Literature is interpreted many ways, similar to the people who read the bible and say that it s about
loving your family as well as other people say it s about accepting Jesus into thy heart. Literature can
make someone kinder, but, it may also make some people much more mean. Mein Kampf, a book
from Germany, was given to people so that they may read, teaching each other that only the strong
may survive, and the weaklings and cowards do not deserve to ... Show more content on

With today s technology, We are able to listen to books being read to us while we are; Doing
homework, doing laundry, exercising, or even just relaxing on a hammock. Technology is helping us
further advance our reading skills and can keep us on the edge of our seat when suspense hits. I have
read some books where I am unable to read for some time, and all I could think about is what could
happen, what would happen if it happened and how the characters live would be affected if it does
happen. Reading at a young age can help stimulate a child s mind and help the develop the way that
they think and how fast they can solve a problem. Reading is the future and can help lead us to a
brighter tomorrow. In the article, Reading Literature Makes Us Smarter and Nicer, Annie Murphy Paul
explains that people who often read Fiction appear to be better able to understand other people,
empathize with them, and view the world though the other person s eyes. This link had continued even
after the researchers factored in the possibility that more empathetic individuals might choose to read
more novels. Reading gives us a chance to experience creativity, through our mind, and the author s
mind. In Conclusion, Reading does have the power to make us nicer

So Successful Emblem Of The Common Will Triumph
The photograph is memorable not only because of it taut graphic composition but because it is, in the
words of historian Paul Fussell, so successful emblem of the common will triumph (Susan D.
Moeller). The Iwo Jima Memorial, located on Ella Grasso Boulevard in New Britain, Connecticut
serves as a respectful reminder of the men who fought and died for us during WWII. To enhance the
importance of this piece is a small monument fed by a gas line where a constant flame is kept lit. In
this paper, we will discuss the history, subject matter, composition, meaning, and formal elements that
this statue conveys.
The artist of this sculpture is a photographer Joe Rosenthal and the first sculptor is Felix de Weldon.
The process of the sculptor is bronze casting, it s an installation, and it s made of metal. The sculpture
is about 40 feet high. The subject matter of this work is heroic. The title of the work does interpret
what we see even though the title generalizes the art. It memorizes the marines who fought in the
battle in World War II. The human figure is the major part of the subject matter they portray a
victorious and heroic matter. The men that are raising the flag, you can see that they are struggling and
that they re tightly bunched together in various positions. The war took place on the Iwo Jima Island
on February 19, 1945. The Battle of Iwo Jima was a major war between the U.S. Marines and the
Japanese Imperial Army during World War II. They captured the

The Church s Role In Ancient Russian Society And Politics
The church s role in ancient Russian society and politics was also significant since it encountered a
semi pagan society with many barbarian practices and crude customs in the late tenth and early
eleventh centuries. These included a primitive form of marriage in which the wife was abducted or
purchased, polygamy, slavery, blood feuds and many other rituals society would deem cruel and
barbaric today. (131, Engelstein) While the church did not immediately eliminate ingrained habits and
prejudices, it gradually imparted new ideas and attitudes by educating people, changing morals, and
preparing the people to accept new standards. The church opposed barbaric customs such as blood
feuds and, together with secular leaders, attempted to formulate judicial norms and establish
appropriate punishments that fit the nature of and reasons for crimes. In these actions, the church
deeply penetrated the legal and moral foundations of society. This is another example of how the
Christianization of Russia started to shape politics and the culture of Russia specifically from some of
the earliest times of Russian society. (133, Engelstein) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These church people were under the church s jurisdiction and direct control and included monks, the
clergy, church employees and their families, among others. (134, Engelstein) From its inception, the
church served as a social welfare organization for the weakest and least fortunate elements of society
who were threatened by death or slavery in these barbaric times. In this instance, the church acted as
guardian as well as the government. This is yet another example of the construction of influence the
church had in shaping Russian culture and government. (134,

Jonathan Kozol The Shame Of The Nation Analysis
Award winning writer and public lecturer, Jonathan Kozol wrote an essay that was published in Harper
s Magazine and was also adapted from his book, The Shame of the Nation: The Restoration of
Apartheid Schooling in America. This essay essentially discusses the injustice of the school systems
and how predominately white districts thrive while African American districts are left without basic
needs.
Kozol uses of New York City as an example of the unfair financial inconsistencies towards specific
counties or cities in the state. The author argues, the gross discrepancies in teacher salaries between
the city and its affluent white suburbs have remained persistent (354). He continues his argument
stating that the median salary for teachers in an African American community in 1997 was $43,000
while in suburban white communities the salary was ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, at the opposite extreme along the economic spectrum in New York are numerous children
who receive no special opportunities of superb schooling programs simply because they are not as
financially fortunate as their white counterparts (Kozol 354 355). To reason with this iniquitous
reality, Kozol quotes Marian Warner, a novelist who has written several books for children, stating,
There are expensive children and there are cheap children, just as there are expensive women and
cheap women (354). Kozol continues by explaining that governmentally administered degradation in
the value of children in poor communities fundamentally begins before the age of five, which would
be when they would start their years in formal education in public education. In actuality, in begins
during infancy, when a populous amount of children are born into poor districts and are locked out of

The Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty
Is the death penalty really the answer? Even though the criminal deserves the punishment of death, it
is not always what a person deserves because death is the easy way out of the crime and the methods
of killing are cruel. Some people feel that the Death Penalty should be broadened to cases such as
rape, child molesters, etc.
Execution Problems First off, some states just put people on death row and leave them there for a very,
very long amount of time. Furthermore, only 1,110 people have been executed on death row since
1973 and 4.1% of those people were innocent (Ballaro Cushman, 2016). In a state there was execution
that looked like torture because they sat there and watched the man die for 40 minutes with the lethal
injection that they had used to kill him (Newsweek Global, 2014). After another execution, they took
45 minutes to find a suitable vein on a man by just probing his arms and a leg because of his past drug
abuse. The FBI s evidence shows that the death penalty takes up large amounts of money but still does
not deter criminals(Ballaro, Cushman, 2016). In the recent past, some people in the Supreme Court
believed that the death penalty has been used in a racist manner, and could have resulted in innocent
lives being taken for things they did not do. In Arkansas, the Governor wasn t doing a very good job
setting dates for execution, so that the family and friends of the person or the person they committed
the crime against could have peace of mind either

A Comparison Of Superman And Me By Sherman Alexie
Throughout literature many pieces of work can be compared and contrasted to each other. In
Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie discusses the challenges he faced as a young Indian adult, who
found his passion of reading at an early age, living on the Spokane Indian Reservation. He challenged
the stereotype of the young Indian students who were thought to be uneducated while living on a
reservation. Likewise, in the excerpt from The Hunger of Memory, Richard Rodriguez shares his
similar experience of being a minority and trying to break stereotypes of appearing uneducated. He
shares the details of his life growing up learning a different culture and the struggles he faced
becoming assimilated into American culture. In these two specific pieces of literature discuss the
importance of breaking stereotypes of social and educational American standards and have similar
occupational goals; on the other hand the two authors share their different family relationships.
A large similarity between the two works of literature consist of the journey of breaking certain
standards of education particularly in people of color. In the essay Superman and Me, Alexie grew up
on the Spokane Indian Reservation where to a non Indian adult the expectation of the Indian students
were very low. With these exceptions set at such a low standard the desire to give students a proper
education were extremely limited. The students, as Alexie says, struggled with basic reading, and
overall, were expected

Solid Wood Hardwood Wood Flooring
Solid wood flooring will last more than 100 years, and the finish can be easily renewed when needed.
Just having wood floors increases the value of your home.
Not too long ago, the only choice you had was the old fashioned solid wood tongue and groove strips
in maple or oak. Today, wood flooring can be planks from old barns, exotic woods, pre finished
engineered wood strips which eliminate the dust and disruption of finishing on site. You even can have
wood laminate flooring, which isn t wood, but looks like wood at a much lower cost.
SOLID WOOD FLOORING Solid wood floors, although beautiful, can t be used everywhere. They
must be nailed to a sub floor. This makes solid wood unsuitable for use directly over concrete.
Adding a sub floor between the concrete and the wood flooring might result in a height problem where
the floor meets an adjoining room. Moisture causes wood to expand, so it s not appropriate in
basements. Humidity can lead to squeaking and buckling.
The trend seems to be for homeowners to buy wood flooring with a factory applied finish. This
eliminates dust from sanding, fumes from finishing, and waiting before the floor can be walked on.
Another benefit is that the factory finishes are usually much tougher than the polyurethane applied in
the field.
The downside of pre finishing is that since that floor doesn t get sanded after it s installed, there are
slight bumps and dips where the sub floor isn t perfectly level, and where the flooring strips

John Locke s Second Treatise On Civil Government
Freedom, a concept essential to the human experience, should have some limitations. In addition, I
will explore the definition of freedom, how the power of government is also limited and how these
limitations fit into the theories of Hobbes, Locke, and Aristotle.
There should be limits to freedom because unlimited freedom can endanger the liberties of others.
Without limits to freedom, individuals can use their natural rights to cause harm and hurt others.
Freedom, as defined as by John Locke, is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be
under the will or legislative authority of men. If the individual exists in a society, then Locke theorizes
their liberty exists under the legislative power established by consent in the ... Show more content on

In Locke s Second Treatise on Civil Government, the philosopher theorizes on the limitations of
freedom. To begin with, Locke makes the critical point that in the state of nature men are perfectly
free to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and themselves, in any way they like,
without asking anyone s permission. However this freedom is subject only to limits set by the law of
nature. Locke believes that the limitations to freedom are dictated by the law of nature. In Locke s
view, everyone is equal in the state of nature, with the same advantages and privileges. Therefore, no
individual has the right to abuse the liberty of others, even if they have the freedom and ability to do
so. This abuse, termed as license, exists outside the state of nature and Locke believes that this power
is not granted to anyone. This is especially important when considering the power of the government.
For Locke, the power of the government must be limited to the laws of nature. Once the government
starts acting outside the laws of nature, the government becomes illegitimate.
Aristotle also feels that freedom should be used for the peace and prosperity of others. In Aristotle s
Nicomachean Ethics, there exists two different types of freedom: positive and negative. Negative
freedom is the freedom from something, such as barriers or government coercion. Positive freedom,
which is recommended by Aristotle, is the freedom to pursue an end. For Aristotle, the ideal end is a
complete life, full of virtue. This life, full of happiness and friendship, does not exist to harm or foul to
others. Without these limitations, positive freedom would not be

Symptoms Of The Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a common complaint in patients seen by the Family Nurse
Practitioner (FNP). Patients that complain of numbness, tingling or pain to the first three fingers and
part of the ring finger of the hand are describing CTS. The patient may also complain of weakness to
the affected hand. In patients that have experiences these symptoms chronically, there may also be
muscle wasting to the thenar eminence near the base of the thumb (Dunphy, Winland Brown, Porter,

The symptoms of pain, numbness, tingling or weakness are the result of the inflammatory process
within the carpal tunnel that leads to compression of the median nerve. The compression and resulting
impingement of the median nerve results in ischemia. The ischemia leads to the symptoms of
numbness, tingling, pain and weakness of the hand and/or forearm. The FNP should inspect the wrist
and hands of the patient with symptoms of CTS, looking for skin color and temperature changes,
deformities and muscle wasting. The active and passive range of motion (ROM) of the neck,
shoulders, elbows, wrists and fingers should be accessed. Muscle strength should be assessed at the

Critical Speech In Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel
Romanian born American Jewish writer, professor, political activist, Nobel Laureate, and Holocaust
survivor, Elie Wiesel in his critical speech, Perils of Indifference, maintains the idea that indifference
is inhumane. He supports his claim by using his personal experience in the Holocaust. Additionally, it
states in paragraph 9 that They were dead and did not know it. emphasizes how indifference has made
the Muselmann completely unaware of their fate. Further, it states in paragraph 8 that Indifference can
be tempting... troublesome... and can make our lives meaningless. Wiesel s purpose is to warn the
people that change is needed in order to encourage the people to make a change in the world for the
better so something as tragic and devastating like the Holocaust never happens again. He establishes a
critical tone for readers by using stylistic devices and rhetorical devices such as imagery,
contemplative questions, and word choice in order to achieve his message that indifference is
inhumane. Wiesel s message about the inhumanity of indifference and the importance of resistance is
still relevant today. Unfortunately, although Elie Wiesel and much of the world hoped nothing like the
Holocaust would ever happen again, there have been other cases of genocide later after the Holocaust.
For example, in the year 1991, the The Bosnian War and Srebrenica Genocide took place ( The
Bosnian War ). In 1991, Yugoslavia began to break up along ethnic lines, causing a surge of ethnic
groups trying to seize the power in government ( The Bosnian War ). When the republic of Bosnia and
Herzegovina declared their independence in 1992 the region quickly became the center of the fighting.
In the article The Bosnian War and Srebrenica Genocide the Serbs were a group who rapidly rose to
power by taking up 90 percent of the military, and by also oppressing any other ethnic group that to
them posed a threat to their rights In addition the article The Bosnian War and Srebrenica Genocide it

Humor And Looking For Comedy In The Muslim World
I think humor is important for communication because it conveys another message and idea altogether.
We need to study something like humor in order to understand why we laugh and what kind of ideas
make us laugh. In the case of the movie Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World , I learned that
humor can create a good or bad connection between countries and not just its people. Humor is
subjective because of the audience it communicates to; as a result, not everyone may understand a
certain reference when it comes to farce, comedy or jokes that are being discussed. Humor is

Causes and Effects of the Civil War Essay
Did you know America s bloodiest battle fought on their own soil was the Civil War? The Civil War
was fought on American soil between the northern states and the southern states. Many causes
provoked the war, which would affect the nation for decades to come. Slavery, the Missouri
Compromise, and John Brown s attack on Harpers Ferry, Virginia, were some of the many causes. In
turn hundreds of thousands of soldiers died, the South s economy was devastated, and the northern
ideals flourished.
In the later 1700 s to 1863, slavery was an intricate part of the South. Slaves were needed for

The Missouri Compromise stated Missouri would be a slave state and Maine would be carved out of
Massachusetts and created into a non slave state. The Missouri Compromise really angered the North,
contributing to the Civil War.
In May of 1856, Congressman Preston Brooks of South Carolina entered the nearly empty senate
chamber and beat Massachusetts Senator Charles Sumner with a cane. Brooks felt violated by Sumner
s Crime Against Kansas speech, which provoked the retaliation. This attack spread the idea that
violence might be able to solve the problem of slavery. In October 1859, abolitionist John Brown, led
a violent attack. He and his band of 21 men and attacked the federal arsenal at Harpers Ferry, Virginia.
They hoped to spark a slave rebellion that would end slavery, and in John Brown s words, purge this
land with blood. Brown s attack was one of the final causes that sparked the Civil War.
When the Civil War finally concluded, thousands of American soldiers died fighting for what they
believed in. The Confederate army lost a total of 258,000 soldiers and the Union army lost 360,000
soldiers. The loss of so many people immensely harmed the nation mentally and economically. Almost
everybody had a family, relative, or friend that died in the Civil War. Half of the lives lost were
farmers in the South, which devastated the South s economy because these farmers were also
consumers for their

loss of language skills, inconvenience, reduced appetite, and care for people. What is the closest thing
in real life? That is sick. Kraft s most prominent artistic feature is the overall absurdity and detail of
the truth, the work of the central event is absurd, but the central environment of the incident is true,
resulting in actual situation effect. Specifically to this text, the central event that becomes a bug is
absurd, but the family s response to this event is real. When a person from the pillar into a terminally
ill patient, his family will certainly be very concerned, very sympathetic. But when the patient
gradually lost the ability, when the family economic burden is getting heavier, the family s boredom
and complain will naturally arise. And when the patient becomes the biggest obstacle to a new life, the
family is even happy for his disappearance. We will never become a bug, but we will definitely
become a patient. If the closest person would treat us like a bug, that would be more desperate. The

of bad faith or inadequate consideration, have a superior claim to a property than a subsequent
purchaser if circumstances suggest that the subsequent purchaser should have had constructive notice
of his presence on the property?
BRIEF ANSWER(S)
Yes. The third party possessor has a superior claim to the property than the subsequent purchaser in
spite of the fact that the possessor has not recorded his deed to the property. The subsequent purchaser

IPAddress Essay
As stated by the website howstuffworks.com (What is an IP address?), An IP address is assigned to
every device connected to the Internet. This is a 32 bit protocol, as it consists of 4 binary octets .
However they are usually written in decimal form for ease of use. The maximum decimal number
allowed by one octet is 255 (or 11111111 in binary). The total number of unique possibilities of 4
octets would therefore be 256^4, roughly 4.3 billion addresses.
Demand for IP addresses is increasing due to reasons such as low cost computers, advancement in

The dot com bubble also saw a rapid uproar in the number of web based companies, such as Amazon
and eBay. Much smaller businesses have also adapted to the Internet and are making use of its low
cost. Also, due to the low cost and minimal knowledge require to run and maintain a website, thanks
to Content Management Systems and website creation software, many personal websites, to do with
hobbies, interests and experiences are also present on the Internet.
Due to all these factors, the number of devices connected to the Internet has increased, therefore the
number of available IP addresses has decreased, leading to the situation that IP addresses will run out
by 2011.
A possible solution to this problem would be for devices to share IP addresses. This can be done by
using NAT (Network Address Translation). NAT sends and receives data back and forth between the
computer and the Internet. Multiple computers can use the same NAT, and to the Internet, it will seem
as though the data is all coming from one computer, rather than several computers. A particular use of
NAT is in routers and modems for home networks. These allow many computers to connect to a LAN
(Local Area Network) with their own private IP addresses, but they are all connected to the Internet
with a single IP address.
The following diagram shows this implementation of NAT.

Envision the best collegiate football player you know. There s a good chance his fame is attributed to
how aggressive he is, praised for his no mercy attitude. While this mentality suits the field, it can
translate onto college campuses, where many student athletes are recruited to play for the school. A

aggression over others. Societies with higher levels of male dominance, tolerance of violence, and
greater gender segregation tended to fall into this category. Now recall that collegiate football player.

often times it was to the local police rather than the campus police in fear that they would be shamed

Western Influence On John Hersey s Characters
Japanese has an immense effect on those in contact with it. Japanese is a culture with divine beliefs
and enormous pride in their culture. John Hersey explores the effects that culture and environment

Why is Mount Everest so dangerous? The people who want to climb Mount Everest are aware of the

Sylvia Plath Metaphors
Metaphors by Sylvia Plath was written in 1959. It is a lyric poem that uses metaphors to create a
riddle, as she states in line one. Plath is using a narrator voice in her poetry to describe her pregnancy
with the use of metaphors and her ambivalence to her current state. The narrator is mocking herself
and I find her mocking tone to pregnancy as something I want to incorporate in my writing when
writing about my character s eating disorder.
The poem starts with the narrator announcing herself as a riddle in nine syllables. The nine syllables is
the first hint that the poem is going to be about pregnancy. Plath correlated the use of the word nine to
the length of a pregnancy, giving the reader an inkling of what is to be expected of the poem. The
narrator then goes on to describe herself as an elephant, then a house, two very distinctively large
objects. She is now mocking the weight gain caused by pregnancy and she furthers this by comparing
herself to a melon, strolling on two tendrils. These lines give the reader a vivid imagery of someone
that has become stout and is struggling to do normal tasks such as walk. ... Show more content on

In her poetry, she does not use the voice of the narrator like the way Plath does, instead it is more of a

Eliee Character Quotes In Night
In the book Night, Elie s character trait changes throughout the book. This is mainly caused by the
things happening to him and other Jews. This changes changes him into a completely new person with
new believes and views about the world. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from a person who
believes in good and that God is fair to someone who is bitter, angry at his God, and only thinks about
surviving. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to his central character trait
and how it changed throughout the book. The change is apparent when he was angry at his God for
not preventing the barbick actions of the Germans, when he talks about how men were stronger than
God, and when his father died he couldn t think of anything but how to survive.
At the start of the book Elie was an innocent kid that only wanted to learn new things and dedicated
himself to his God and family. Elie became friends with a foreign Jew that lived in his town name
Moshe the Beadle. Elie started to ask questions that he didn t normally ask when one day Moshe asked

thought to pray to his God to give him strength as well as thanking his God for the food he got
because his constant need to eat to be able to survive was all he thought and dreamed about. The
reader can infer that Elie no longer thought of his past at this point or about who he used to be, which
supports the argument that Elie s condition at this moment and what had happened to him had changed

when you do not have enough information. However, he incorporated the LXX and MT as well as
other psalms to solidify his claim for the date he gave the psalm. Anderson gives the reader a form
critical analysis, historical critical analysis of the oracle and the complaint, and gives a text critical
analysis before trying to date the psalm himself. The article begins with Anderson stating the current,
popular view that has been used to date psalm 60, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using other scholars and their research added to the argument, however, it would have been even
more convincing if he would have included a more balanced view of scholars who agreed as well as

text is conveying about God and his

My Observation At The Landlord And Tenant Supervisor Introduction: This report is based on my observation at the Landlord and Tenant Board which is located 3 Robert Speck Parkway Suite 520 Mississauga, Ontario L47 2G5 on Tuesday, January 26th, 2016 and Wednesday, January 27th, 2016. Throughout the day at the Landlord and Tenant Board we had observed many different cases. In terms of location, the office building was in close juxtaposition to a public bus stop that had a route that lead directly from Brampton. The bus schedule conveniently operated every 9 minutes. • 8. Ruby Moon By Matt Cameron Ruby Moon by Matt Cameron The Artslink Queensland production of Ruby Moon by Matt Cameron can be described as an example of the Australian Gothic dramatic style. Ruby Moon, set in picture perfect Flaming Tree Grove, is about the tragic dilemma of a couple, Ray and Sylvie, trying to cope with the earlier disappearance of their young daughter, Ruby, while on the way to visit her grandmother at the end of the cul de sac (Queensland Education, 2014). Matt Cameron s, Ruby Moon, is an award winning contemporary Australian playwright and screenwriter based in Melbourne which depicts a uniquely Australian landscape; employing the conventions of the Australian Gothic Theatrical style (Queensland Theatre Company, 2009). In the production of Ruby Moon, the stage setting creates dramatic meaning and purpose. Ruby Moon is set in an Australian suburban town in picture perfect Flaming Tree Grove where Ray and Sylvie s daughter, Ruby, disappears on her way to visit her grandma at the end of the cul de sac (HCS, 2014). The intimacy and secrecy of the Flaming Tree Grove community and its lack of safety adds to the supernatural and paranormal intrusions of Australian Gothic Theatre. The Ruby Moon production was fuelled and inspired by fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White, Hansel and Gretel, and Alice in Wonderland, and also newspaper headings and stories about families and their missing children scattered around the world. • 9. Donald Trump And Race Relations With Donald Trump s ascension to the presidency months ago, he inherited a nation divided on many issues, including race relations. Thus, a question is raised: How has President Trump worked to address the issue of race relations in the United States? He has promised to do everything he could to help race relations improve and unify the country, as demonstrated by the quote: Today and every day of my presidency I pledge to do everything I can to continue that promise of freedom for African Americans and for every American...We re going to bring this country together (Cottman, 2017). Unfortunately, it does not seem likely that race relations will improve so as long as Trump remains president. The facts below will prove that Trump has worsened race relations in America, and deepened the justifiable fear of division which many Americans feel. Such a conclusion can be clearly made through the observation of his past and present conduct. Trump promised on the campaign trail to dramatically improve the lives of African Americans, saying Every African American citizen in this country is entitled to a government that puts their jobs, wages and security first. ... Here is the promise that I make to you: Whether you vote for me or not, I will be your greatest champion (Swerdlick, 2017). • 13. The Church s Role In Ancient Russian Society And Politics The church s role in ancient Russian society and politics was also significant since it encountered a semi pagan society with many barbarian practices and crude customs in the late tenth and early eleventh centuries. These included a primitive form of marriage in which the wife was abducted or purchased, polygamy, slavery, blood feuds and many other rituals society would deem cruel and barbaric today. (131, Engelstein) While the church did not immediately eliminate ingrained habits and prejudices, it gradually imparted new ideas and attitudes by educating people, changing morals, and preparing the people to accept new standards. The church opposed barbaric customs such as blood feuds and, together with secular leaders, attempted to formulate judicial norms and establish appropriate punishments that fit the nature of and reasons for crimes. In these actions, the church deeply penetrated the legal and moral foundations of society. This is another example of how the Christianization of Russia started to shape politics and the culture of Russia specifically from some of the earliest times of Russian society. This essay essentially discusses the injustice of the school systems and how predominately white districts thrive while African American districts are left without basic needs. Kozol uses of New York City as an example of the unfair financial inconsistencies towards specific counties or cities in the state. The author argues, the gross discrepancies in teacher salaries between the city and its affluent white suburbs have remained persistent (354). • 15. The Pros And Cons Of The Death Penalty Is the death penalty really the answer? Even though the criminal deserves the punishment of death, it is not always what a person deserves because death is the easy way out of the crime and the methods of killing are cruel. Some people feel that the Death Penalty should be broadened to cases such as rape, child molesters, etc. Execution Problems First off, some states just put people on death row and leave them there for a very, very long amount of time. Furthermore, only 1,110 people have been executed on death row since 1973 and 4.1% of those people were innocent (Ballaro Cushman, 2016). In a state there was execution that looked like torture because they sat there and watched the man die for 40 minutes with the lethal injection that they had used to kill him (Newsweek Global, 2014). After another execution, they took 45 minutes to find a suitable vein on a man by just probing his arms and a leg because of his past drug abuse. The FBI s evidence shows that the death penalty takes up large amounts of money but still does not deter criminals(Ballaro, Cushman, 2016). In the recent past, some people in the Supreme Court believed that the death penalty has been used in a racist manner, and could have resulted in innocent lives being taken for things they did not do. In Superman and Me, Sherman Alexie discusses the challenges he faced as a young Indian adult, who found his passion of reading at an early age, living on the Spokane Indian Reservation. He challenged the stereotype of the young Indian students who were thought to be uneducated while living on a reservation. He shares the details of his life growing up learning a different culture and the struggles he faced becoming assimilated into American culture. In these two specific pieces of literature discuss the importance of breaking stereotypes of social and educational American standards and have similar occupational goals; on the other hand the two authors share their different family relationships. A large similarity between the two works of literature consist of the journey of breaking certain standards of education particularly in people of color. In the essay Superman and Me, Alexie grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation where to a non Indian adult the expectation of the Indian students were very low. • 17. Solid Wood Hardwood Wood Flooring Solid wood flooring will last more than 100 years, and the finish can be easily renewed when needed. Just having wood floors increases the value of your home. Not too long ago, the only choice you had was the old fashioned solid wood tongue and groove strips in maple or oak. Today, wood flooring can be planks from old barns, exotic woods, pre finished engineered wood strips which eliminate the dust and disruption of finishing on site. You even can have wood laminate flooring, which isn t wood, but looks like wood at a much lower cost. SOLID WOOD FLOORING Solid wood floors, although beautiful, can t be used everywhere. They must be nailed to a sub floor. This makes solid wood unsuitable for use directly over concrete. Adding a sub floor between the concrete and the wood flooring might result in a height problem where the floor meets an adjoining room. Moisture causes wood to expand, so it s not appropriate in basements. Humidity can lead to squeaking and buckling. The trend seems to be for homeowners to buy wood flooring with a factory applied finish. This eliminates dust from sanding, fumes from finishing, and waiting before the floor can be walked on. Another benefit is that the factory finishes are usually much tougher than the polyurethane applied in the field. The downside of pre finishing is that since that floor doesn t get sanded after it s installed, there are slight bumps and dips where the sub floor isn t perfectly level, and where the flooring strips ... In addition, I will explore the definition of freedom, how the power of government is also limited and how these limitations fit into the theories of Hobbes, Locke, and Aristotle. There should be limits to freedom because unlimited freedom can endanger the liberties of others. Without limits to freedom, individuals can use their natural rights to cause harm and hurt others. Freedom, as defined as by John Locke, is to be free from any superior power on earth, and not to be under the will or legislative authority of men. If the individual exists in a society, then Locke theorizes their liberty exists under the legislative power established by consent in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In Locke s Second Treatise on Civil Government, the philosopher theorizes on the limitations of freedom. To begin with, Locke makes the critical point that in the state of nature men are perfectly free to order their actions, and dispose of their possessions and themselves, in any way they like, without asking anyone s permission. However this freedom is subject only to limits set by the law of nature. Locke believes that the limitations to freedom are dictated by the law of nature. In Locke s view, everyone is equal in the state of nature, with the same advantages and privileges. Therefore, no individual has the right to abuse the liberty of others, even if they have the freedom and ability to do so. This abuse, termed as license, exists outside the state of nature and Locke believes that this power is not granted to anyone. This is especially important when considering the power of the government. For Locke, the power of the government must be limited to the laws of nature. Once the government starts acting outside the laws of nature, the government becomes illegitimate. Aristotle also feels that freedom should be used for the peace and prosperity of others. In Aristotle s Nicomachean Ethics, there exists two different types of freedom: positive and negative. Negative freedom is the freedom from something, such as barriers or government coercion. Positive freedom, which is recommended by Aristotle, is the freedom to pursue an end. For Aristotle, the ideal end is a complete life, full of virtue. • 20. Critical Speech In Perils Of Indifference By Elie Wiesel Romanian born American Jewish writer, professor, political activist, Nobel Laureate, and Holocaust survivor, Elie Wiesel in his critical speech, Perils of Indifference, maintains the idea that indifference is inhumane. He supports his claim by using his personal experience in the Holocaust. Additionally, it states in paragraph 9 that They were dead and did not know it. emphasizes how indifference has made the Muselmann completely unaware of their fate. Further, it states in paragraph 8 that Indifference can be tempting... troublesome... and can make our lives meaningless. Wiesel s purpose is to warn the people that change is needed in order to encourage the people to make a change in the world for the better so something as tragic and devastating like the Holocaust never happens again. He establishes a critical tone for readers by using stylistic devices and rhetorical devices such as imagery, contemplative questions, and word choice in order to achieve his message that indifference is inhumane. Wiesel s message about the inhumanity of indifference and the importance of resistance is still relevant today. Unfortunately, although Elie Wiesel and much of the world hoped nothing like the Holocaust would ever happen again, there have been other cases of genocide later after the Holocaust. For example, in the year 1991, the The Bosnian War and Srebrenica Genocide took place ( The Bosnian War ). In 1991, Yugoslavia began to break up along ethnic lines, causing a surge of ethnic groups trying to seize the power in government ( The Bosnian War ). We need to study something like humor in order to understand why we laugh and what kind of ideas make us laugh. In the case of the movie Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World , I learned that humor can create a good or bad connection between countries and not just its people. Humor is subjective because of the audience it communicates to; as a result, not everyone may understand a certain reference when it comes to farce, comedy or jokes that are being discussed. Humor is important when it comes to communicating an idea through ads, propaganda and even social media like Twitter (Holton and Lewis 1). In the film, Albert Brooks, is tasked by the American government to determine what makes the Muslim people laugh. At first, he thinks that the task is actually achievable based on what he is told by the government personnel in the meeting he attends at the start of the movie. But throughout the whole film, he realizes that the task is more daunting than expected. This is a 32 bit protocol, as it consists of 4 binary octets . However they are usually written in decimal form for ease of use. The maximum decimal number allowed by one octet is 255 (or 11111111 in binary). The total number of unique possibilities of 4 octets would therefore be 256^4, roughly 4.3 billion addresses. Due to all these factors, the number of devices connected to the Internet has increased, therefore the number of available IP addresses has decreased, leading to the situation that IP addresses will run out by 2011. A possible solution to this problem would be for devices to share IP addresses. This can be done by using NAT (Network Address Translation). NAT sends and receives data back and forth between the computer and the Internet. Multiple computers can use the same NAT, and to the Internet, it will seem as though the data is all coming from one computer, rather than several computers. A particular use of NAT is in routers and modems for home networks. These allow many computers to connect to a LAN (Local Area Network) with their own private IP addresses, but they are all connected to the Internet with a single IP address. The following diagram shows this implementation of NAT. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There s a good chance his fame is attributed to how aggressive he is, praised for his no mercy attitude. While this mentality suits the field, it can translate onto college campuses, where many student athletes are recruited to play for the school. A case study conducted at the University of Pennsylvania revealed that certain environments encourage aggression over others. Societies with higher levels of male dominance, tolerance of violence, and greater gender segregation tended to fall into this category. Now recall that collegiate football player. Sound familiar? Despite having hundreds of sexual assault cases each year, most colleges take little action to resolve these cases. In fact, only 20% of female sexual assault survivors report cases, the rest believing that it was too personal to share, or that if they did, the police wouldn t listen to them. If they did report, often times it was to the local police rather than the campus police in fear that they would be shamed or turned away by the universities. • 36. Sylvia Plath Metaphors Metaphors by Sylvia Plath was written in 1959. It is a lyric poem that uses metaphors to create a riddle, as she states in line one. Plath is using a narrator voice in her poetry to describe her pregnancy with the use of metaphors and her ambivalence to her current state. The narrator is mocking herself and I find her mocking tone to pregnancy as something I want to incorporate in my writing when writing about my character s eating disorder. The poem starts with the narrator announcing herself as a riddle in nine syllables. The nine syllables is the first hint that the poem is going to be about pregnancy. Plath correlated the use of the word nine to the length of a pregnancy, giving the reader an inkling of what is to be expected of the poem. The narrator then goes on to describe herself as an elephant, then a house, two very distinctively large objects. She is now mocking the weight gain caused by pregnancy and she furthers this by comparing herself to a melon, strolling on two tendrils. These lines give the reader a vivid imagery of someone that has become stout and is struggling to do normal tasks such as walk. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This changes changes him into a completely new person with new believes and views about the world. Over the course of the book, Elie changes from a person who believes in good and that God is fair to someone who is bitter, angry at his God, and only thinks about surviving. This is important to the book as a whole because it connects to his central character trait and how it changed throughout the book. The change is apparent when he was angry at his God for not preventing the barbick actions of the Germans, when he talks about how men were stronger than God, and when his father died he couldn t think of anything but how to survive. At the start of the book Elie was an innocent kid that only wanted to learn new things and dedicated himself to his God and family. Elie became friends with a foreign Jew that lived in his town name Moshe the Beadle.
