Community Dinners
During the year, my church holds community dinners every Friday. It is a time where anyone can
come together and get a free Hotmail, listen to live music, and talk about events going on in the
community. We have meals like spaghetti and garlic bread; chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn; and
tacos. When people are finished with their meal, they are given dessert and have the opportunity to get
seconds. I personally seat everyone and deliver food to them. I have the greatest experience serving
those in need of food, prayer, and a friend. After all the food is served, I sometimes sing and play
piano to give the people eating some entertainment. I sing for about 20 minutes before I start to clean
up. Cleaning takes about two hours. We had a wipe

What are the potential sources of the problem?
The source of these problems seems to be coming from two areas in Interwest Healthcare. The first
area is the miscommunication that the hospital administrators are having with upper management. The
hospital administrators and upper management are not only having miscommunication issues but they
also do not share the same role expectations with each other which is creating tension. The hospital
people accused Singh of being a bureaucrat who did not care about patient services. Singh accused the
hospital staffs of not understanding the importance of accurate reporting (Brickley, Smith amp;
Zimmerman 2009 p. 38). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But before any changes to the data entry process are made it is important to communicate directly to
the hospital administrators. It is important to have the hospital administrators on board with the
changes that will be made with the data entry process. By gaining the hospital administrators consent
with the changes this will allow a smoother transition for the data entry change and it could provide a
positive change to the workplace. As for the changes to the data entry it would most likely be a simple
computer process along with small piece of paperwork. It would be best to have some sort or paper
record on file that would need to be alphabetized along with a simple computer program. The
computer program would help ensure accuracy and would have the patient s data record on file which
will be easy to locate. There would be very little paper work for the process mainly because it takes up
space and takes more time to record. The paper work that is part of the process would simply serve as
a backup if the computers were down. The key to ensuring accuracy with the data entry is to make the
process as simple as possible so it would minimize the errors.
How does your view of behavior affect how you might address the consulting assignment?
As a consulting assignment I see Interwest Healthcare as a company in distress due to the way the

The Development Of Drivers For Virtual Machines
I. Introduction to the topic This paper will be analyzing the development of drivers for virtual
machines, as well as how virtual machines access host hardware. Topics covered will include what
interest what interest I/O driver virtualization holds for the computer information science field, a
general overview of virtualization, I/O hardware virtualization, and virtualization of I/O drivers.
II. Why the topic is of interest
Due to increased efficiency in Central Processing Units, most computers today are not used to their
full potential. In fact, time interrupt handlers are issued as wait time, thus eating up CPU clock cycles.
Virtualization gave the opportunity for multiple x86 Operating Systems to run on one machine. As
CPU s were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
CPU, memory and resources are divided amongst the OSes by the Virtual Machine Monitors, where
the Virtual Machine resides. The Virtual Machine is a software abstraction that will behave as though
it is a complete machine, with virtual hardware resources, RAM, and I/O hardware [1]. There are two
main approaches to virtualization: hosted architecture, and hypervisor architecture. In hosted
architecture, the encapsulation layer is installed in the form of an application on the Operating System,
while the hypervisor architecture involves the installing of the encapsulation layer, or hypervisor, on a
clean system, which gives direct access to the system s resources [2].
The issue of virtualization is that the virtualized OSes do not have full access to hardware resources
and memory. They expect to execute within a high privilege level. The VMM is run in this high layer,
while the OS is moved to the user level, above the application level. This change in privilege requires
costly saving and restoring, and system calls can lead to some CPU cache loss. Instead, a translation
look aside buffer, or TLB, is used upon VMM entry and exit to cache physical and virtual address
translation [3]. Because different privilege levels also effect semantics, binary translation is used to
make up for the move. Three possibilities exist to allow virtualization: full virtualization with binary
translation,

Pyle, as a US aid sent to Vietnam, holds a belief to spread democracy around and give more chance to

Narrative Essay About My Dream
When people ask me, what s your earliest memories? I always have this weird response. Whether it
was a dream I had when I was little, or truly experiences from the womb, who knows. Yet they still
remain vivid in my mind. I can imagine myself popping into existence and just floating in a void, no
realization of my body, just me existing. But even then I knew I was someone special, someone set
apart from the rest. For what reasons I had no clue of yet.
At the time of my birth, my parents were here over in the states in Wisconsin, though at the time they
were living in Japan, as my dad was serving as an air traffic controller at the military base and my

coffee, but I could easily grab myself some of my mom s homemade cherry coffeecake and some little

around and play. Except I often didn t play with the others, I d find myself a good corner and focus my
attention intently on one individual toy. This is how playtime usually went for me. I studied the

After that little bit of time, it would be time for Sunday school over at the parsonage. There the pastor

In Canada, Terry Fox Is Always Suggested To Be A Hero Who
In Canada, Terry Fox is always suggested to be a hero who offered by way of clues to a Canadian
cultural identity. Terry Fox is a famous Canadian athlete and cancer research activist. In 1980, his
efforts for embarking on a cross Canada run to make people recognize the importance of cancer
research, with one of his legs amputated, successfully influenced and engaged millions of people.
Terry Fox quotes that to him, being famous himself is not the idea of the run, while the only important
part for him is the Marathon of Hope. (1980) In this essay, I am going to analyze the heroism,
nationalism and identity that Terry Fox brings to Canadian history. First of all, throughout Canada s
history, its culture is mostly influenced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Terry was diagnosed with cancer and had part of his leg amputated, however, he didn t lose hope and
confidence for the life. In fact, he decided to do a series of 10 kilometre runs across Canada. With the
3393 mile long running in different locations, a lot of Canadians are inspired , and they called on the
offices of Minister of Amateur Sport Gerald Regan, Governor General Edward Schreyer, and Prime
Minister Pierre Trudeau, to celebrate a national honour of Fox. Fitness and Amateur Sport announced
it the commemorate Terry s great marathon achievement and his courage and unifying influence on
our nation (Fitness and Amateur Sport 1981). This announcement was widely spread so that Terry s
Marathon of Hope has been marked as the significant Canadian moment. At that time, Terry was not
only as a hero but also as a man who joined Canada together at a time when it was growing farther and
farther apart (Hamm 1981). In fact, Terry s Marathon of Hope took place when the Charter of Rights
and Freedoms was under construction, Dominion Day was renamed Canada Day, and O Canada
became the official national anthem. All of theses were part of a new symbolic order crafted primarily
by the Trudeau Liberals, which promoted a pan Canadian vision of the federation (Hayday 2010, 311).
His strong efforts and attitude towards the marathon means significant to the whole country. Daniel

A Room At The East Side Bank
It was a calm evening at the East Side Bank. There were just two customers in the lobby. One was a
woman sitting down waiting for a representative and the other one was a man standing being serviced
by one of the two bank tellers. The East Side Bank was a small branch. At the back was the three bank
teller windows for handling transactions in person. There were also two offices to left side of the
lobby for handling new accounts and loans. On the right side of the lobby was a hallway that led to
some the back offices, the employee lounge and the vault. The light fixture outside the front door was

down the short hallway that led to the lobby. When he reached the end of the hallway, he peered
around the corner to get a picture of the situation without revealing himself. His heart skipped a beat
the moment he laid eyes on the gun pointed at Kelly. Before anyone noticed his presence, he ducked
back. Next, he grabbed his gun from its holster and raised it up. Then he took a deep breath and
quickly jumped out into the lobby with the gun pointed directly at the gunman. Put the gun down! He
yelled. Then the shorter masked person quickly grabbed a crying woman who was cowering behind
some chairs. The woman screamed some more as a knife was brought up to her throat. With a
feminine voice the shorter masked person said, If you don t drop it, she gets it. Okay. You win. Just
don t hurt anyone. replied Walter. Fearing any bloodshed from innocents, Walter surrendered his gun
to the gunman; tossed it carefully in front of him. Then proceeded to slowly drop to his knees with his
hands out in surrender. The gunman then kicked the gun to an unoccupied corner of the room where it
slid under a cabinet out of reach. Now as I was saying, give up the money, said the gunman to Kelly.
Kelly then snapped out of shock and began to empty all the cash out out her till. At the same time the

How does Charlotte Brounte Create Sympathy For Jane In...
How does Charlotte Brounte Create Sympathy For Jane In The First Two
Chapters Of The Novel?
Jane Eyre is a fictional autobiography which was written in 1848. It is about a young girl who is
abused and tortured by her aunt and cousins, (the people she lives with).
There are many ways that Charlotte Brounte creates sympathy for Jane in the first two chapters.
However the four main ways are: the setting, the language used, the structure of the chapters and
finally the social content.
In the first chapter, the setting is in a room where Jane is reading a book. The writer uses pathetic
fallacy in this chapter to describe the weather as well as how Jane is feeling. Chilly afternoons
describes the weather which was then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However in the second chapter, the setting changes from cold and damp to more of a gothic setting
which is quite frightening. It is in this chapter, where Jane is locked into the Red Room. The reader
would feel more sympathy for Jane at this point because the Red Room symbolises death and scares
Jane a lot, (which is shown by her resistance to going into it). In the Red Room a gothic and
mysterious feeling is presented to the reader. This is shown in the colours described in the Red Room
such as red , crimson , pink etc. All of these colours give Jane a dark feeling and represent death and
blood to her, as she already knows that her uncle s death had occurred in that room. The atmosphere,
that is created in that room is quiet and gives Jane the feeling of being lonely. This creates sympathy
as
Jane has no one and is alone. The Red Room overall creates darkness as the colours of the furniture
are darkly polished and the blinds on the windows are always drawn down . This adds and emphasises
the effect it has on Jane because she becomes more frightened.
Another way in which sympathy is created for Jane is through the language used to describe Jane
herself. Jane uses a lot of sarcasm when she describes her aunt and cousins. She uses words such as
mama and darlings whenever she speaks about them. This creates
sympathy

Titanic Persuasive Speech
85 years. 85 years is the average lifespan of a human, according to the Social Security Administration.
Humans as individuals are not around for an exorbitant amount of time. The heartwarming, yet
devastating 1997 film Titanic, by James Cameron, as well as, the spunky and rebellious quote, If you
obey all the rules, you miss all the fun , by Katherine Hepburn, reflect the idea that even though life a
short, why not make it a good time? James Cameron in his film, Titanic, portrays two characters, Jack
and Rose, who long for adventure. Jack Dawson is a young, penniless artist, who has nothing to his
name except the clothes on his back, his sketchpad, and a couple bucks in his pocket. After spending
time drawing his way through Europe, Jack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of them being, Rose and Jack throughout the movie come to reach a level of maturity and find
that some rules should indeed be followed. After the Titanic goes down, but before Jack s tragic and
untimely death, Jack and Rose made each other a promise. Jack pleaded to Rose as he hung in the
freezing water, Never let go. With fear he may not make it she replied, I ll never let go Jack, I ll never
let go. In that moment Rose and Jack realized the only way to have fun is not to break rules. They
gave each other the rule to never let go, and that is a rule they will always follow since it unfortunately
followed them to the grave. While Rose and Jack were able to reach this level of maturity, Hepburn s
quote does not indicated any possible maturity, only rebellion. Her quote focuses on having fun, and
not caring what rules try and stop her. There are some rules, that need to be followed simply for
reasons, such as safety and respect. Her quote, however, shows no remorse for breaking rules. While
this is a good thing in some cases, others in is not. Unlike Rose and Jack, it is uncertain based on the
quote if Hepburn ever reached that level of maturity to know when rules should be

Humor in The Simpsons Essay
Humor in The Simpsons I and many other millions of people across the world believe that The
Simpson s is the best programme on television because it is funny in more ways then one. The
Simpson s uses the family lifestyle that many American TV shows have used over past (e.g. The Adam
s family, The Flintstones) but The Simpson s has proved it is a lot more popular because it uses many
more different forms of comedy which work with people from all ages. Slapstick comedy is where
someone gets hurt and you laugh but if you saw it happen in real life you d find it sick for example
when homer the father strangles his son Bart in many episodes it would be seen as child abuse in real
life but you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Where Bart, Lisa and their classmates get stranded on an island and they go through the same things
as they did in the book or film. Another great example is where Bart writes I can t see dead people on
the board in the opening credits which is a parody of The sixth sense which is a supernatural film
about ghosts and there is a memorable quote where the young boy says I see dead people . Another
example of Intertextuality is where they use the idea of the matrix, which is a sci fi film where the
actors dodge bullets and move in slow motion. And in the Simpson s Bart starts running up walls and
dodging bullets and moving in slow motion and is quite enjoyable to watch because its good seeing
the Simpson s doing it. Intertextuality is a sophisticated type of comedy because the older viewers are
more likely to grasp examples of these then younger viewers. Running gags are things you will
probably see in every episode and are funny every time you see them. Running gags are jokes that are
same jokes and actions that reappear every now and again. For example Homer always strangles his
son Bart whenever he s rude or annoys Homer usually by outsmarting him. Another running gag
which I find funny is whenever the Simpson s are watching a documentary or a film the same actor

Beauty In The Chronicles Of Narnia
C.S. Lewis had an instinctive pleasure for a little bit of this and a little bit of that in what he wrote.
Lewis love for sweet disorder is inspired by British poet Robert Herrick. This love allowed Lewis to
unify excerpts and themes from religious works, mythology from various cultures, and literature of
famous writers. Lewis had the ability to commerce a theme into an extensive, greater idea to construct
it in what he wrote. Throughout The Chronicles of Narnia, he expresses the beauty he sees in disorder.
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Magicians Nephew, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
are three of the main books that he shows his admiration. If Lewis had not used the literary elements
of animals and planets in The Chronicles of Narnia series, then these books would lack the true art and
connotation of what Lewis wants to portray throughout these books. In The Lion, Witch and the
Wardrobe, animals become powerful literary choices. A lion exists as an authoritative creature who
leads amongst most. Come, Son of Adam, and I will you show you a far off sight of the castle where
you are to be King (LWW 129). Talking lions stand among the most respected creatures in all Narnia.
Although the children had just met Aslan, they knew that they should follow his leadership and obey
under his commands. This creature embodies as the king of the beast . The lion (Aslan) is depicted in
the book to represent Jesus Christ, known as the lord of Narnia. Another animal

Analysis Of The Book Animals By Simon Rich
Synthesis Essay Animals by Simon Rich is an outstanding short story which takes a unique
perspective on the everyday life in a classroom. The story is written from the point of view of a
hamster who spends his tortured life entrapped in a cage. From the first point in this story it is clear
that the purpose of the writing is not to understand the hamster, but rather to analyse the different
actions of the people, and to discover that how they act towards the hamsters reflects on their
character. It is curious to view the everyday interactions of people through a different set of eyes, that
is done by humanizing the narrator s perspective. Based on the actions of the many people and the
treatment of the class pet, the author suggests that human nature is very much a product of the
financial circumstances a person is subjected to. There are a couple of key characters in this story, the
first of which is Simon. He is just one of many strikingly similar students in homeroom 2k. Simon,
like many of the students is irresponsible, and unsympathetic towards the hamsters. Simon jeopardizes
the lives of the hamsters by attempting to joke around instead of completing his assigned task, which
involves giving them food and water. The majority of the story takes place in a private school, and the
reader can make the assumption that the student s parents are wealthy. The author portrays simon as
well as the other kids in a bad light, that they are, by default, poorly behaved and somewhat

The Differences Of Aztecs And Mayan Civilizations
Aztecs and Mayans were the biggest civilizations in Mesoamerica. They are known for having mass
amounts of knowledge in subjects like astronomy, mathematics, agriculture and architecture. These
two civilizations have their own creation myth: Mayas have Popol Vuh, while Aztecs have Mito de los
Cinco Soles. Both works have given an insight on their culture s values, ways of living and beliefs.
However, when the Spanish came to America most of the books containing essential information of
these civilizations were destroyed. Some of the written works that were rescued pertained to both:
Mesoamerican and Spanish authors. The Mayan and Aztec works Chilam Balam and Presagios según
los informantes de Sahagún describe Spanish brutality and abuses, defining them as violent. In
contrast Spanish works Segunda Carta de Relación de Hernán Cortes and Carta de Pedro de Alvarado
justify Spanish actions against Mesoamerica s civilizations by portraying their own leaders as saviors.
Spanish and Mesoamerican civilizations texts show contradictory points of view towards the conquest,
creating skepticism on what really happened during that time.
Popol Vuh and Mito de los Cinco Soles are relevant texts because they emphasize the importance of
sacrifice in their culture. The Mayan book, Popol Vuh, is a broad text that contains the myths of earth,
humanity, and life creation; as well as it emphasizes the influence deities had in their life. The Hero

Five Major Components Of The National Incident Management...
In American society, there are numerous of organizations, agencies, corporations, and distributions
that each have certain systems that are required for them to be successful. When it comes to homeland
security and the management of different disasters or incidents, there definitely needs to be a protocol
or plan in place to be able to manage detrimental events. The Incident Management System and the
Incident Command System are two very significant systems, that go hand in hand with each other,
therefore are presented within the same type of logic model known as the NIMS Command Chart.
Knowing the fundamental components of each and key points, discussing how these programs operate
in practice, and understanding their elements, strengths, and weaknesses are all worthy of attention
when dealing with serious disasters.

Summary Of The Essay Not Rants
Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response
There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero
genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down
the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films,
characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch
Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch
Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big
name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more
actors being roped in to playing a specific character.
Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is
seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the
characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re
supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you.
Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

franchises have brought about. Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of

working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television,

Media Reflection Paper
Today the life revolves around media, it is on people s phones, media decorate their walls, and for
some media is their job. Since media is such an inescapable part of the modern landscape it is
significant that we as individuals understand how the media works and how it affects us. In this
course, the nature of the media has been unraveled to reveal the ways that it has impacted society and
how it has done this. This class has made me became more critical of the media in my life and now
even without thinking I recognize patterns, and in some cases toxic themes in the media I consume.
Looking back on this semester and what I have learned I can see that I have become more media
literate in many ways, primarily in the areas of awareness and analysis. I have become more aware of
the way media is constructed. Some things that have stood out to me since I have started this course is
for example the other day when I flew into the ST. Louis airport after Thanksgiving break one of the
monitors in baggage claim said that it was CLear Channel TV before this course I do not know what
clear channel was and I knew that the entertainment business was an oligopoly but I did not realize the
extent. Seeing this was a moment of realization, that what I read was real, this one company has its
hands in every pot. I have also noticed how much media means to people, I was speaking to one of my
friends and I mentioned that I thought marvel was better that DC and she became very upset at me. It
occurred to me that being a DC comics fan was a part of her identity, before I knew that people took
entertainment personally but it was not actively looking for it. I have increased my ability to analyze
the media I consume, now I am more aware of the way industries target audiences. One of the easiest
ways this can be seen is in commercials, advertisers make there for a specific audience, video game
commercials are a good example Game of Wart has a woman in its commercials who speaks in an
alluring voice and invites audiences to come join her. She is there for the male gaze, men are the
desired customers that companies look for, so she is there as a way of saying that this game will make
the player feel special and receive the

Neutral Gender Bathroom Controversy
It is 2016, and today s society has become a more diverse community than ever. Although more people
have become open minded there is still one issue that is considered to be controversial. The issue
among transgender people, and the creation of neutral gender bathroom. This issue has become
controversial between the transgender community and the government. The reason behind this
problem is that the transgender community in the recent years has gain momentum in being accepted
by society, but not the government. In my case, I believe that the creation of neutral gender bathroom
can bring a negative impact both psychological discomfort and physical danger to the population.
The word transgender has become a common one in today s society. Especially after an article
published by The Washington Post, where it talked about a case in Virginia, where a high school
transgender student named Gavin Grimm, sued his highschool board, alleging that the policy violated
his civils right . The article also informs that the case reached the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th
Circuit. The case resulted in Gavin having to go to the girl s bathroom. This case took by storm almost
every media in the U.S., as well as more cases related to transgender people spread through the news
media, as well as appearing in John ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
can be a bad idea. The reason for this is because we already have enough problems with people like
the sex offender and the pedophiles, who target these areas to attack their victims. An article from
SoCawlage, that talked about the creation of neutral gender bathroom and its effect, it stated about the
neutral gender bathroom the following: [h]erein lies the biggest danger with neutral bathrooms a
potential for more sexual assault, and certainly more harassment . This mean that for the good of the
people and their security, the prohibition of neutral bathroom will help to avoid the rapes and

Emergency Medicine Admission Essay
Emergency Medicine became a potential career option for me after I obtained my Emergency Medical
Technician Basic Certification the year before I entered medical school. I worked full time in the
emergency department as a patient transporter, which gave me the privilege of witnessing and
participating in the daily work of the physicians and nurses.
My shifts were ten hours long, four days a week, and I took it upon myself to speak with patients and
physicians whenever I had the chance. Two new doctors, who had just finished their residency
training, began their first jobs the month I had started mine. As I began inquiring about some of the
things I saw and heard, they could not help but notice my burning desire to learn more about the
practice ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They shared my enthusiasm when they weren t overwhelmed with critical patients and treated me as
an enrolled medical student. They pointed out X ray findings and ECG strips of some significance
unknown to me at the time, If they had an interesting patient they would introduce me and request
permission for me to observe. I recall one of the physicians quizzing me about a patient who had a
true situs inversus on her chest X ray, and I will never forget my conversations with a young man with
signs and symptoms consistent with new onset Lyme Disease.
The fact that I remember these specific scenarios is only testament to my impressionable nature at the
time. I am truly grateful for the time spent learning with those physicians, nurses and patients. Their
encouragement and feedback helped prepare me for medical school in ways I could not have
calculated, and my time with them seems very brief in retrospect.
When I did get accepted about eight months into the job, they cheered for me and told me how proud
they were of my accomplishments. On my last shift, one of the physicians presented me with a new
copy of Netter s Human Anatomy Atlas which had been signed on the inside cover by all the
emergency doctors, much like a high school yearbook. I cannot imagine a more satisfying and
inspirational welcoming into the field of

The enduring nature and extensive range of the debate about dividend policy has spawned a vast
amount of literature that grows by the day. For this reason, a full review of all debates is not feasible1.
However, this paper endeavours to give justice to the importance of both the topic of dividend policy
as an area of financial economic research, and also to the literature that has been produced addressing
that topic, by reviewing the most important and influential studies in this area. It attempts to outline
the main theories and explanations of dividend policies and to review the main empirical studies on
corporate dividend policy. The remaining of this paper is organized as follows. Section 2 gives a short
background of corporate dividend policy. Section 3 analyses the theories of dividend policy starting
with the dividend irrelevance hypothesis of Miller and Modigliani, and then the alternative hypotheses
including bird inthe hand, tax preference, clientele effects, signalling, and agency costs hypotheses.
Section 4 summarises the paper.
2. Background of Corporate Dividend Policy2
The issue of corporate dividends has a long history and, as Frankfurter and Wood (1997) observed, is
bound up with the development of the corporate form itself. Corporate dividends date back at least to
the early sixteenth century in Holland and Great Britain when the captains of sixteenth century sailing
ships started selling financial claims to investors, which

The Key Concepts Of Psychoanalysis By Sigmund Freud
Psychoanalysis was founded by Sigmund Freud (1856 1939). It is also known as Insight orientated
therapy. The aim of psychoanalysis therapy is to make the unconscious conscious. Our unconscious
mind is where we keep our deep dark demons that we do not want to face. So, psychoanalytic therapy
forces the patient to tap into these unconscious feelings through techniques such as free association,
dream analysis and transference. There are several key concepts in psychoanalytic theory for us to
remember in order to understand the psychoanalytic theory. The First key concept was that people are
deterministic which means they are wired at birth. Corey(2009) stated that people are influence by
instincual drives. And they are born with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also, there are some differences between how the relationship between therapist and client in classical
and contemporary psychoanalytic theory. The classical analyst would praise the role of the expert by
standing outside the relationship, comments on it, and offers insight producing interpretations.
Whereas, contemporary psychoanalyst involve with the client more than classical analyst. They think
that the relationship of the client and therapist would not grow if it detached and nonparticipating.
Therefore, contemporary therapists view their emotional communication with clients as a useful way
to gain information and create connection (Luborsky et al., 2011). Another difference between
classical and contemporary psychoanalytic theory would be that classical theory would focus on the
root of the problem which emerge from the past childhood experiences of the unconscious mind of the
client whereas for contemporary theory would not only focus on the past experiences of the client but
also focus on the present problems of the client. Therefore, the therapeutic relationship would not be
productive if they therapist would be in the expert role and not involve in this therapeutic relationship
in contemporary psychoanalytic

Comparison of Online and Offline Retail Environment of Car...
The offline retail environment of the automobile industry is that of manufacture to intermediary to
consumer. The process from which the product (car) proceeds from manufacturer to consumer is that
of through the automobile dealer. This intermediary batch purchases a number of models from the
manufacturer and sells them from the lot or storefront. This placement and presentation of the product
has proved largely successful. The tangible product is viewed, test driven and purchased from the
intermediary. An advantage of the offline retail environment is that of the face to face (F2F)
transaction environment. The purchase of a car requires high involvement between the supplier and
consumer and can be argued demands a customer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than solely online companies, who may only offer ghost storefronts with no inventory and little
reputation to defend. (Pitta, Franzak Fowler 2006) Value creation has been described as the difference
between the amount that the consumer is willing to pay for a product and the costs of providing the
product. Value can also be added to the product through outside or support (Porter, 1985) activities
such as brand awareness, speed of delivery, after sales service. Resource Based View (RBV) theorists
argue that information technology (IT) resources can be used today in an online environment to enable
a firm to improve efficiency regardless of whether mimicked by competitors, or may yield
performance impacts unique to a firm relative to its competitors. (Melville, Kraemer Gurbaxani 2004)
A major factor in RBV and enhancing value creation better than a company s competitors is that of
competitive heterogeneity. This refers to enduring and systematic performance differences among
relatively close rivals. (Hoopes, Madsen Walker, 2003) Resources are the tangible and intangible
assets of a firm that can be used in the value creation process and the RBV consists of six conditions
necessary for a firm to confer a sustainable competitive advantage (Melville, Kraemer Gurbaxani
2004) and are as follows. A valuable resource can be tangible and intangible; it is a

The Roles Of Women In Ancient Greece, Rome, And Egypt
s history runs its course, there are certain topics that are always addressed such as religion, politics,
and societal structure. Also brought up is the role of women. During all periods of the world, women
are given their own category due to being treated differently than the men. Comparing the women of
ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt reveals the vast differences of people s views of women and the
disappointing similarities of being unjustly judged based on their gender. Each of these cultures puts
their women into positions that are degrade the skills of females, some more than others, and create
the societal barriers for women that last for many years after ancient times. A telling sign of how each
culture views their women is in the stories of their creation. The Romans, Egyptians, and Greeks all
had their own theories as to how humans were put on Earth. The Egyptians had three different creation
myths, all with different characteristics. The myth including Nun and Ptah do not include women, but
they also do not identify that it was men created first. These describe the creation of society, not a
society of men that was created and then women added along the way. The other creation myth from
Egypt includes the frog headed gods and snake headed goddesses such as Kek, Kauket; Heh, Hauhet.
Women were integrated into the formation of the culture which exhibits the view of women in Egypt.
They were not an afterthought. Contrasting this ideal is the creation

Farther out, a vicious storm brews over the water. It turns the sky roiling shades of blue and grey,

She finds huge green eyes staring at her with an unreadable expression. The woman looking at her is
less woman than beast. Long tangles of black hair fall around her face, mottled grey blue skin
stretched taut over narrow cheekbones. She opens her thin lips to expose sharp canines built for
ripping soft bodies to pieces. Somehow, she is terrifyingly beautiful and hideous at the same time.
But this is not what catches the girl s attention. Rather, it is the shimmering appendage extending from
below the woman s bare torso that holds her eye. Long and sleek, it shines dully in tones of silver and
blue. As the girl watches, the merwoman reaches up to grip two branches, strong muscles flexing
under her weight. She lets go with a gasp, cradling her left arm, and looks at the girl. Please, she
speaks in a dead rasp. Please.
The girl climbs back up and anchors herself in the driftwood. She reaches down to grab the

Violence As A Cleansing Force Essay
The third aspect of the function of violence in decolonization is violence as a cleansing force. For
Fanon, in the process of decolonization, violence liberates the consciousness of the oppressed people
by erasing their inferiority complex: At the level of individuals, violence is a cleansing force. It frees
the native from his inferiority complex and from his despair and inaction; it makes him fearless and
restores his self respect. [. . .] When the people have taken violent part in the national liberation they
will allow no one to set themselves up as liberators. (The Wretched of the Earth 94) In other words,
Fanon emphasizes violence as a cathartic element through which colonized man can create a sounder
self identity. We can find some famous examples of violence as a cleansing force in American
literature. In Richard Wright s Native Son, Bigger Thomas, the protagonist, feels a sense of freedom
for the first time in his life after he kills Mary Dalton, the white girl, because the violence of murder is
the only practice of rebellion for him to commit throughout his whole life against the structural
violence rampant in a racist society. Max, Bigger s lawyer, explains how Bigger felt after he has killed
Mary Dalton as follows: He murdered Mary Dalton accidentally, without thinking, without plan,
without conscious motive. But, after he murdered, he accepted the crime. And that s the important
thing. It was the first full act of his life; it was the most

Using Herbal Plants for Medicine, A section of a Research...
All over the world, more than 80, 000 species of plants are used for medicinal use. Herbal drugs are
derived either from whole plant or from different organs of the plants (Trivedi 2010). For instance,
leaves, roots, stems, flowers, bark, seed, fruits, rhizomes, etc. Medicinal plants consist of whole
extracts of the plant parts which contains abundance of active molecules. The total sales of the herbal
products in the western countries were estimated to be around 1.6 billion US dollar (Aronson 2009).

The compounds play important role in plant life cycle starting from protection from predators, for
instance, alkaloids, from stress and in reproduction by attracting pollinators. These secondary
metabolites produced by the plants have various bioactive properties and used to treat various
diseases. There are many sources which are rich in bioactive compounds, especially herbal plants like
A. paniculata. Other examples are rosemary, sage, shells, oats, rice, locorice, thyme, mustard leaf seed
and other types of seeds and plants (Aruoma 2003). Biotechnological approaches have been used to
facilitate the conservation and sustainable employment of the genetic diversity of the medicinal plants.
Biotechnological approaches commonly used are such as micropropagation, axillary shoot
proliferation, organogenesis, somatic embryogenesis and other cell culture (Gupta et al. 2010). Plant
tissue culture has been widely employed for to efficiently and rapidly multiply and preserve genetic
stability of the plant material. Plant tissue culture has offered a viable solution for the production of
phytochemicals through mass production of consistent plant material for physiological
characterization and analysis of active ingredients (Arora 2010). It has been reported that the
production of secondary metabolites is higher in differentiated tissues than intact plants (Smith 2013).
Thus, several attempts have been made to generate shoot and

Summary Of Jakobce s Narrative-Cadence Is Ill
Cadence was ill.
An immense pressure bore in her head as she slowly awoke from her midday slumber, her daydreams
slowly fading away from her mind. Reality sunk in, and she found herself awake. Dim light shone
through the windows and it pierced her eyes, worse than a thousand needles ever could. Her mental
screams sounded that of countless condemned souls, shrieking for life
For the past week, Cadence had been suffering from a terminal fever and headache. Nonstop agony. It
was miserable.
She groaned in pain as she tried getting up, only to collapse on her own weight. Falling had heavily

Click.
Her eyes closed, her heart beating faster than normal, a sharp tang was piercing through her flesh; her
muffled screams, an unavailing attempt to suppress her agony, were nothing more than a pathetic
depiction of her strength, her failure to endure true pain since it was beyond her capable sufferance.
She failed to withhold. Terrifying ululations erupted from her as it ripped through her a cloud of
shadow blurring her vision as it begin to take form in front of her. When it was done its transcendence,
Cadence collapsed effortlessly on the ground, breathing erratically.
The aftermath of all this sent uncomfortable feelings down her body, but she was used to it, and they

It is a time where anyone can come together and get a free Hotmail, listen to live music, and talk about events going on in the community. We have meals like spaghetti and garlic bread; chicken, mashed potatoes, and corn; and tacos. When people are finished with their meal, they are given dessert and have the opportunity to get seconds. I personally seat everyone and deliver food to them. I have the greatest experience serving those in need of food, prayer, and a friend. After all the food is served, I sometimes sing and play piano to give the people eating some entertainment. I sing for about 20 minutes before I start to clean up. Cleaning takes about two hours. • 3. Mba 540 Chapter 2 Case Study Essay Chapter 2 Case Assignment Raymond Gonzalez Saint Leo University What are the potential sources of the problem? The source of these problems seems to be coming from two areas in Interwest Healthcare. The first area is the miscommunication that the hospital administrators are having with upper management. The hospital administrators and upper management are not only having miscommunication issues but they also do not share the same role expectations with each other which is creating tension. The hospital people accused Singh of being a bureaucrat who did not care about patient services. Singh accused the hospital staffs of not understanding the importance of accurate reporting (Brickley, Smith amp; Zimmerman 2009 p. 38). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But before any changes to the data entry process are made it is important to communicate directly to the hospital administrators. It is important to have the hospital administrators on board with the changes that will be made with the data entry process. By gaining the hospital administrators consent with the changes this will allow a smoother transition for the data entry change and it could provide a positive change to the workplace. As for the changes to the data entry it would most likely be a simple computer process along with small piece of paperwork. It would be best to have some sort or paper record on file that would need to be alphabetized along with a simple computer program. The computer program would help ensure accuracy and would have the patient s data record on file which will be easy to locate. There would be very little paper work for the process mainly because it takes up space and takes more time to record. The paper work that is part of the process would simply serve as a backup if the computers were down. The key to ensuring accuracy with the data entry is to make the process as simple as possible so it would minimize the errors. How does your view of behavior affect how you might address the consulting assignment? As a consulting assignment I see Interwest Healthcare as a company in distress due to the way the hospital ... Introduction to the topic This paper will be analyzing the development of drivers for virtual machines, as well as how virtual machines access host hardware. Topics covered will include what interest what interest I/O driver virtualization holds for the computer information science field, a general overview of virtualization, I/O hardware virtualization, and virtualization of I/O drivers. II. Why the topic is of interest Due to increased efficiency in Central Processing Units, most computers today are not used to their full potential. In fact, time interrupt handlers are issued as wait time, thus eating up CPU clock cycles. Virtualization gave the opportunity for multiple x86 Operating Systems to run on one machine. As CPU s were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... CPU, memory and resources are divided amongst the OSes by the Virtual Machine Monitors, where the Virtual Machine resides. The Virtual Machine is a software abstraction that will behave as though it is a complete machine, with virtual hardware resources, RAM, and I/O hardware [1]. There are two main approaches to virtualization: hosted architecture, and hypervisor architecture. In hosted architecture, the encapsulation layer is installed in the form of an application on the Operating System, while the hypervisor architecture involves the installing of the encapsulation layer, or hypervisor, on a clean system, which gives direct access to the system s resources [2]. The issue of virtualization is that the virtualized OSes do not have full access to hardware resources and memory. They expect to execute within a high privilege level. The VMM is run in this high layer, while the OS is moved to the user level, above the application level. This change in privilege requires costly saving and restoring, and system calls can lead to some CPU cache loss. Instead, a translation look aside buffer, or TLB, is used upon VMM entry and exit to cache physical and virtual address translation [3]. Because different privilege levels also effect semantics, binary translation is used to make up for the move. Three possibilities exist to allow virtualization: full virtualization with binary translation, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Jane Eyre is a fictional autobiography which was written in 1848. It is about a young girl who is abused and tortured by her aunt and cousins, (the people she lives with). There are many ways that Charlotte Brounte creates sympathy for Jane in the first two chapters. However the four main ways are: the setting, the language used, the structure of the chapters and finally the social content. In the first chapter, the setting is in a room where Jane is reading a book. The writer uses pathetic fallacy in this chapter to describe the weather as well as how Jane is feeling. However in the second chapter, the setting changes from cold and damp to more of a gothic setting which is quite frightening. It is in this chapter, where Jane is locked into the Red Room. The reader would feel more sympathy for Jane at this point because the Red Room symbolises death and scares Jane a lot, (which is shown by her resistance to going into it). In the Red Room a gothic and mysterious feeling is presented to the reader. This is shown in the colours described in the Red Room such as red , crimson , pink etc. All of these colours give Jane a dark feeling and represent death and blood to her, as she already knows that her uncle s death had occurred in that room. The atmosphere, that is created in that room is quiet and gives Jane the feeling of being lonely. This creates sympathy as Jane has no one and is alone. The Red Room overall creates darkness as the colours of the furniture are darkly polished and the blinds on the windows are always drawn down . This adds and emphasises the effect it has on Jane because she becomes more frightened. Another way in which sympathy is created for Jane is through the language used to describe Jane herself. Jane uses a lot of sarcasm when she describes her aunt and cousins. She uses words such as mama and darlings whenever she speaks about them. This creates sympathy ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Humans as individuals are not around for an exorbitant amount of time. The heartwarming, yet devastating 1997 film Titanic, by James Cameron, as well as, the spunky and rebellious quote, If you obey all the rules, you miss all the fun , by Katherine Hepburn, reflect the idea that even though life a short, why not make it a good time? James Cameron in his film, Titanic, portrays two characters, Jack and Rose, who long for adventure. With fear he may not make it she replied, I ll never let go Jack, I ll never let go. In that moment Rose and Jack realized the only way to have fun is not to break rules. They gave each other the rule to never let go, and that is a rule they will always follow since it unfortunately followed them to the grave. While Rose and Jack were able to reach this level of maturity, Hepburn s quote does not indicated any possible maturity, only rebellion. Her quote focuses on having fun, and not caring what rules try and stop her. There are some rules, that need to be followed simply for reasons, such as safety and respect. The Simpson s uses the family lifestyle that many American TV shows have used over past (e.g. The Adam s family, The Flintstones) but The Simpson s has proved it is a lot more popular because it uses many more different forms of comedy which work with people from all ages. Another example of Intertextuality is where they use the idea of the matrix, which is a sci fi film where the actors dodge bullets and move in slow motion. And in the Simpson s Bart starts running up walls and dodging bullets and moving in slow motion and is quite enjoyable to watch because its good seeing the Simpson s doing it. Intertextuality is a sophisticated type of comedy because the older viewers are more likely to grasp examples of these then younger viewers. Running gags are things you will probably see in every episode and are funny every time you see them. Running gags are jokes that are same jokes and actions that reappear every now and again. • 13. Beauty In The Chronicles Of Narnia C.S. Lewis had an instinctive pleasure for a little bit of this and a little bit of that in what he wrote. Lewis love for sweet disorder is inspired by British poet Robert Herrick. This love allowed Lewis to unify excerpts and themes from religious works, mythology from various cultures, and literature of famous writers. Lewis had the ability to commerce a theme into an extensive, greater idea to construct it in what he wrote. Throughout The Chronicles of Narnia, he expresses the beauty he sees in disorder. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, The Magicians Nephew, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader are three of the main books that he shows his admiration. If Lewis had not used the literary elements of animals and planets in The Chronicles of Narnia series, then these books would lack the true art and connotation of what Lewis wants to portray throughout these books. In The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe, animals become powerful literary choices. A lion exists as an authoritative creature who leads amongst most. Come, Son of Adam, and I will you show you a far off sight of the castle where you are to be King (LWW 129). Talking lions stand among the most respected creatures in all Narnia. • 14. Analysis Of The Book Animals By Simon Rich Synthesis Essay Animals by Simon Rich is an outstanding short story which takes a unique perspective on the everyday life in a classroom. The story is written from the point of view of a hamster who spends his tortured life entrapped in a cage. From the first point in this story it is clear that the purpose of the writing is not to understand the hamster, but rather to analyse the different actions of the people, and to discover that how they act towards the hamsters reflects on their character. It is curious to view the everyday interactions of people through a different set of eyes, that is done by humanizing the narrator s perspective. Based on the actions of the many people and the treatment of the class pet, the author suggests that human nature is very much a product of the financial circumstances a person is subjected to. There are a couple of key characters in this story, the first of which is Simon. He is just one of many strikingly similar students in homeroom 2k. Simon, like many of the students is irresponsible, and unsympathetic towards the hamsters. Simon jeopardizes the lives of the hamsters by attempting to joke around instead of completing his assigned task, which involves giving them food and water. They are known for having mass amounts of knowledge in subjects like astronomy, mathematics, agriculture and architecture. These two civilizations have their own creation myth: Mayas have Popol Vuh, while Aztecs have Mito de los Cinco Soles. Both works have given an insight on their culture s values, ways of living and beliefs. However, when the Spanish came to America most of the books containing essential information of these civilizations were destroyed. Some of the written works that were rescued pertained to both: Mesoamerican and Spanish authors. The Mayan and Aztec works Chilam Balam and Presagios según los informantes de Sahagún describe Spanish brutality and abuses, defining them as violent. In contrast Spanish works Segunda Carta de Relación de Hernán Cortes and Carta de Pedro de Alvarado justify Spanish actions against Mesoamerica s civilizations by portraying their own leaders as saviors. Spanish and Mesoamerican civilizations texts show contradictory points of view towards the conquest, creating skepticism on what really happened during that time. Popol Vuh and Mito de los Cinco Soles are relevant texts because they emphasize the importance of sacrifice in their culture. I would recommend increasing Hallstead s advertising costs because they are still spending the same amount on advertising as they did when they were in the old, smaller store. To start off, I would recommend to increase their advertising by the percentage increase in their new store size: 50%. Also, Hallstead s should consider adding internet advertising to increase its market size. This may be an opportunity for cheap advertising. The sales commission is an unnecessary cost that is not practiced by Hallstead s competitors. The managers should take away this variable cost to increase profitability. By making these changes, adding promotions and advertisement, taking away an unnecessary variable cost this would increase profitability and pull Hallstead s out of its declining bottom ... • 18. Summary Of The Essay Not Rants Essays, Not Rants! 218: A Response There s a recent New York Times article I came across that laments how the rise of the superhero genre has conflated actor stardom with character stardom. The article itself doesn t really chase down the points too well, but the central gist (as far as I can see) is that in the recent slate of films, characters have come to trump actors. As Wesley Morris suggests in the article, when you watch Oceans Eleven, it s George Clooney doing all the cool stuff as Danny Ocean; but when you watch Rush, you don t see Chris Hemsworth as James Hunt, you see Thor as James Hunt. And as more big name actors get roped in to superhero films (Cate Blanchett s gonna be in Thor: Ragnarok!), it s more actors being roped in to playing a specific character. Which makes Morris point of view seem a little weird. He implies that the fun of Ocean s Eleven is seeing the star studded cast play off of each other, whereas Civil War is more about watching the characters interact; the former being better. Which begs the question of whether or not you re supposed to forget that it s an actor playing a character and not something happening before you. Now, the attitude here feels a lot like that kid who s angry ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which, alright, sure; but we ve also changed from the studio system of the 50s. Marvel with the MCU (and, Fox with X Men and DC with their attempts at catchup) are working on a new form of storytelling, one that sits somewhere at the nexus of film, television, comics, and those old serials from forever ago. • 19. Media Reflection Paper Today the life revolves around media, it is on people s phones, media decorate their walls, and for some media is their job. Since media is such an inescapable part of the modern landscape it is significant that we as individuals understand how the media works and how it affects us. In this course, the nature of the media has been unraveled to reveal the ways that it has impacted society and how it has done this. This class has made me became more critical of the media in my life and now even without thinking I recognize patterns, and in some cases toxic themes in the media I consume. Looking back on this semester and what I have learned I can see that I have become more media literate in many ways, primarily in the areas of awareness and analysis. I have become more aware of the way media is constructed. Some things that have stood out to me since I have started this course is for example the other day when I flew into the ST. Louis airport after Thanksgiving break one of the monitors in baggage claim said that it was CLear Channel TV before this course I do not know what clear channel was and I knew that the entertainment business was an oligopoly but I did not realize the extent. Seeing this was a moment of realization, that what I read was real, this one company has its hands in every pot. I have also noticed how much media means to people, I was speaking to one of my friends and I mentioned that I thought marvel was better that DC and she became very upset at me. It occurred to me that being a DC comics fan was a part of her identity, before I knew that people took entertainment personally but it was not actively looking for it. I have increased my ability to analyze the media I consume, now I am more aware of the way industries target audiences. One of the easiest ways this can be seen is in commercials, advertisers make there for a specific audience, video game commercials are a good example Game of Wart has a woman in its commercials who speaks in an alluring voice and invites audiences to come join her. She is there for the male gaze, men are the desired customers that companies look for, so she is there as a way of saying that this game will make the player feel special and receive the ... Although more people have become open minded there is still one issue that is considered to be controversial. The issue among transgender people, and the creation of neutral gender bathroom. This issue has become controversial between the transgender community and the government. The reason behind this problem is that the transgender community in the recent years has gain momentum in being accepted by society, but not the government. In my case, I believe that the creation of neutral gender bathroom can bring a negative impact both psychological discomfort and physical danger to the population. The word transgender has become a common one in today s society. Especially after an article published by The Washington Post, where it talked about a case in Virginia, where a high school transgender student named Gavin Grimm, sued his highschool board, alleging that the policy violated his civils right . The article also informs that the case reached the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 4th Circuit. The case resulted in Gavin having to go to the girl s bathroom. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The enduring nature and extensive range of the debate about dividend policy has spawned a vast amount of literature that grows by the day. For this reason, a full review of all debates is not feasible1. However, this paper endeavours to give justice to the importance of both the topic of dividend policy as an area of financial economic research, and also to the literature that has been produced addressing that topic, by reviewing the most important and influential studies in this area. It attempts to outline the main theories and explanations of dividend policies and to review the main empirical studies on corporate dividend policy. The remaining of this paper is organized as follows. Section 2 gives a short background of corporate dividend policy. Section 3 analyses the theories of dividend policy starting with the dividend irrelevance hypothesis of Miller and Modigliani, and then the alternative hypotheses including bird inthe hand, tax preference, clientele effects, signalling, and agency costs hypotheses. Section 4 summarises the paper. 2. Background of Corporate Dividend Policy2 The issue of corporate dividends has a long history and, as Frankfurter and Wood (1997) observed, is bound up with the development of the corporate form itself. • 23. The Key Concepts Of Psychoanalysis By Sigmund Freud Psychoanalysis was founded by Sigmund Freud (1856 1939). It is also known as Insight orientated therapy. The aim of psychoanalysis therapy is to make the unconscious conscious. Our unconscious mind is where we keep our deep dark demons that we do not want to face. So, psychoanalytic therapy forces the patient to tap into these unconscious feelings through techniques such as free association, dream analysis and transference. There are several key concepts in psychoanalytic theory for us to remember in order to understand the psychoanalytic theory. The First key concept was that people are deterministic which means they are wired at birth. Corey(2009) stated that people are influence by instincual drives. And they are born with ... The classical analyst would praise the role of the expert by standing outside the relationship, comments on it, and offers insight producing interpretations. Whereas, contemporary psychoanalyst involve with the client more than classical analyst. They think that the relationship of the client and therapist would not grow if it detached and nonparticipating. Therefore, contemporary therapists view their emotional communication with clients as a useful way to gain information and create connection (Luborsky et al., 2011). Another difference between classical and contemporary psychoanalytic theory would be that classical theory would focus on the root of the problem which emerge from the past childhood experiences of the unconscious mind of the client whereas for contemporary theory would not only focus on the past experiences of the client but also focus on the present problems of the client. Also brought up is the role of women. During all periods of the world, women are given their own category due to being treated differently than the men. Comparing the women of ancient Greece, Rome, and Egypt reveals the vast differences of people s views of women and the disappointing similarities of being unjustly judged based on their gender. Each of these cultures puts their women into positions that are degrade the skills of females, some more than others, and create the societal barriers for women that last for many years after ancient times. A telling sign of how each culture views their women is in the stories of their creation. The Romans, Egyptians, and Greeks all had their own theories as to how humans were put on Earth. The Egyptians had three different creation myths, all with different characteristics. The myth including Nun and Ptah do not include women, but they also do not identify that it was men created first. These describe the creation of society, not a society of men that was created and then women added along the way. The other creation myth from Egypt includes the frog headed gods and snake headed goddesses such as Kek, Kauket; Heh, Hauhet. For Fanon, in the process of decolonization, violence liberates the consciousness of the oppressed people by erasing their inferiority complex: At the level of individuals, violence is a cleansing force. It frees the native from his inferiority complex and from his despair and inaction; it makes him fearless and restores his self respect. [. . .] When the people have taken violent part in the national liberation they will allow no one to set themselves up as liberators. (The Wretched of the Earth 94) In other words, Fanon emphasizes violence as a cathartic element through which colonized man can create a sounder self identity. We can find some famous examples of violence as a cleansing force in American literature. In Richard Wright s Native Son, Bigger Thomas, the protagonist, feels a sense of freedom for the first time in his life after he kills Mary Dalton, the white girl, because the violence of murder is the only practice of rebellion for him to commit throughout his whole life against the structural violence rampant in a racist society.
