Raising Money For The Fund
Raising money for the Rally for the Jimmy Fund over the last few weeks has been an eye
opening experience into both the world of fundraising for charity as well as in professional sales.
Getting out into the real world and applying skills from classroom that were still fresh in your
mind was a far better learning experience than weekly homework assignments. The Jimmy Fund is
a charity that does a great job branding and making its presence known so convincing people to
donate was less of telling them about the product and more getting them to open up their wallets
and actually make a donation. As the weeks progressed and we began to learn more and more
about selling it became much easier to speak with people and get my point across about... Show

The third week I focused on Emails to people that I knew that worked in with an attached interest
gaining statement with my personal donation link for them to send along to anyone they believed
would be willing to donate. The fourth week was where I focused more on my family members and
family friends, sending texts, personal emails, and making calls to people that would take the
time to donate. Finally, the fifth week was meant for follow ups as well as reaching out to a close
contacts that would put me over my goal of $601. I believe that this approach would let me find
out what worked and what didn t while still giving me time to reach my goal.
I chose the people that I requested donations from very carefully, I believed that it was important,
when it came down to it to have people that I truly believed would make a donation and focused
hard on them rather than sending spam emails to everyone I can asking for donations. My
immediate family was an easy choice, my mother loves volunteering and my father has a sales
career so they were an easy target for getting a donation, especially since raising a lot of money
gave me a better grade. After that I focused on family that work in business and had a lot of
connections who would want to donate to the cause, I have two cousins working at the startup
Gradifi, a brother who works for a growing company, Domo, in Utah, my dad at Ironside, and a
cousin at Dell/EMC in

Summary Of Twelve Labors Of Heracles
The Summary of the Twelve Labors of Heracles
Heracles was born the son of Zeus. Heracles mother was not Hera but Alcmene a mortal. Heracles
was born with great strength but also with a hot temper. Hera hated Heracles from the time he was
a born. Heracles was sent to a farm to work his temper off. Heracles did his time and worked hard.
The King of Thebes aloud Heracles to marry his daughter, but Hera was always one step ahead of
Heracles. After, Heracles and his wife had few children Hera casted a madness spell on Heracles

Advantages and Disadvantages of Easily Obtainable Information The rise of technology has
shaped our generation in so many ways. As a child, I remember going to the library and checking
out books when I had a paper or project due for class. As I got older the need for finding books or
publications for research purposes decreased considerably. As I entered middle school, a class was
being taught on computer literacy, and looking back on that class I see how important it was to
get started early. I can only recall one time in the last three years where I stepped foot into a
public library, and that was to place my vote for the 2016 presidential election. The fact that I
can hop on my phone, and search anything I could possibly want to know about, and that
information be displayed in a matter of seconds is an amazing and wonderful thing. The
downside to the capability of information at your fingertips is that it causes people (including
myself) to be lazy. Vocabulary and literacy levels are lower now, because you don t have to read
several books to find what you are looking for. I loved reading for pleasure when I was younger,
and still do, but that was because I was required to read more to find answers to questions. Siri and
Google have almost eliminated the need to do such research.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media With the rise of technology came the creation of
social media.

The Battle of Pearl Harbor Cause and Effects
On Sunday morning, December 7, 1941, at 7:55 AM the Japanese Empire led a surprise attack on
the US Naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii, that would leave millions of Americans in shock, and
heartbroken. Before the attack, the United States kept a low profile on International affairs, and
concentrated on the domestic affairs at hand. This tragic moment in American history forever
remembered. It is a mournful day for the American people, although, for the Japanese Empire it
was an honorable day, one they would call a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1940, the United States was extremely against this animosity and reacted with trade embargoes
and monetary approvals. FDR had talked with the Dutch and the British to see if they would
agree upon embargoes on Japan. Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not want a conflict in the pacific
as the United States was not prepared for war. For instance, the oil embargo that was organized
between the British, the Dutch, and the United States was about 90% of Japan s imported oil. [3]
This upset Japan because without oil or fuel their military and war efforts would come to a
complete stop.
Beginning of the year in 1941, FDR decided that the Pacific Fleet would move to Hawaii from
San Diego in the hopes of discouraging the invasion of the Japanese. Negotiations between
Washington and Tokyo had been going on for several months without a resolution. On July 2, 1941,
the Imperial High Command was tired of negotiations with the United States and needed to proceed
with their development within Asia even with the embargo in place and meaning it would be at a
high risk of war with the US. [4] Therefore, the Japanese had deceived the United States, ignored
the arbitration, and moved forward with their plans. The United States had hoped that this
restrictive embargo would halt Japan s assault as negotiations had continued well into November.
Instead of giving into the United States demands, the Japanese had decided to finally put their

A Career in Information Systems
Have you ever heard the sayings knowledge is power or information is money ? When people talk
about accounting, what they are really talking about is information. The information used by
businesses, as well as the technology that supports that information, represents some of the most
valuable assets for organizations around the world. Very often, the success of a business depends on
effective creation, management, and use of information. As companies become ever more reliant
on technology, the need for welleducated Management Information Systems (MIS) auditors and

so that errors can be corrected easily. Other work sheets are prepared on personal computers with
spreadsheet software. Accountants prepare work sheets each time financial statements are needed

Low Earth Orbit Essay

Space Debris in Low Earth Orbit
An unfortunate consequence of man exploring off planet has been the steady growth of junk from
derelict and unused spacecraft. According to NASA there are over half a million pieces of junk in
low earth orbit. Because these pieces of junk travel at orbital speeds of around 17,500 miles per
hour, they posses tremendous amounts of energy and are capable of doing substantial damage
(NASA). Most of the dangerous hard to track debris comes from collisions (NASA). When old
satellites are allowed to orbit on a collision free path they are relatively easy to track, and avoid.
However, problems arise once these satellites are involved in collisions. Collisions can break apart
... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A variety of techniques are being developed to try and put this principle into use, for constructing
all sorts of things in low earth orbit. A proposed method of recycling satellites is to tow old
satellites out to mars where the materials could be used by future colonies. Tom Markusic CEO
of startup firefly systems, has a plan to do just that (Howell). Firefly systems plans to use solar
powered craft to slowly and efficiently move things from earths orbit to mars. Once there they
could be broken down by colonists in orbit for their nuts bolts and various other components
(Howell). This could actually create a much needed market for supplies if space travel becomes
commercialized. If part is needed part way through a mission and it can be found on a derelict
satellite, Tom Markusic s company could be the missing link that could retrieve a bolt or solar
panel and bring it to whoever needs it eliminating the need for an expensive launch from the earths
surface.
Another potential way of recycling space craft is increasing their longevity. Often times only a
single component fails taking down all of a satellite s systems. If they are designed modularly
then satellites would only require a simple part replacement to be working again. DARPA is
currently researching a craft that would dock with satellites, assess damage, and potential make
repairs (Howell). Having

Examples Of Improvisation In Drama
What is improvisation and how can it be used to create drama/theatre?
Jade Sullivan Extended response
Improvisation is a foundational style which is used to create ensembles, it is the art of being in a
scene/s with no preparation. Improvisation is used to Refine theatrical pieces, create ensemble, and
extend our own creativity. It forces us react imaginatively and immediately. Improvisationis used
effectively in the examples of Augusto Boal and his Theatre of the oppressed , the French company
Theatre Du Soliel and an example from my own experience in class.
Theatre Du Soleil is a French drama company that started in the 1960 s, it employs drama as the
means of making performance and mainly uses improvisations part of the process ... Show more

Using improvisation encourages play and spontaneous exchange of ideas/ process. It can be
referred to as an extension of child s play as it stimulates offspring of child s play and it forces us
to react imaginatively to offers; like a child might do in the playground. As a class, we have
explored this idea in a game we play called Space Jump , there are many alterations to the game
but the general idea is this; one student starts miming an everyday activity and is told to freeze. A
second player then volunteers to build another scene based on the frozen position of the first
player. The original space jump then gets played backwards. This game helps us as actors develop
necessary improvisation skills such as being able to accept offers, react to others and create
ensemble. Games such as these, and improvisation in general allows you to explore your
physicality and abilities to present different characters on the spot.
To conclude, improvisation can be used to creates ensemble, explore an individuals expressive
abilities, polish Individual or group performance, and to generate ideas. In the creation of theatre,
improvisation allows you to explore different personas/ life styles, and gives you the opportunity to
see the world through another person s eyes. Through the examples of Theatre Du Soliel, Boal and
my own class experience, improvisation is shown to

Pacific Ocean In Life Of Pi
Setting: The Pacific Ocean and Pi s Emotional State (5) The climax and majority of story in Life
of Pi takes place in the vast pacific ocean. The entire plot and conflict is created by the harsh
environment. At times the description of Pi s surroundings is reflective of his emotional and
mental condition. At a point in time where Pi is confused, scared, and vulnerable, unsure of
whether or not he would make it, his environment shows just that. Darkness came. There was no
moon. Clouds hid the stars. The contour of things became hard to distinguish. Everything
disappeared, the sea, the lifeboat, my own body. The sea was quiet and there was hardly any wind,
so I couldn t even ground myself in sound. I seemed to be floating in pure, abstract blackness...I
couldn t imagine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The inability to differentiate the surrounding features are representative of Pi s uncertainty of his
ability to survive, both figuratively and literally, as he can no longer make out the dangerous
predators he shares the boat with. The darkness and silence of the night parallels his newfound
isolation. With the loss of his entire family, the comparison between his emotions and immense
emptiness of his surroundings is quite apparent. This is not the only time where the ocean
provides an insight to how Pi is feeling and the state of his mind. In chapter 54 Pi spends hours
coming up with, and switching between plans, to eliminate Richard Parker. This constant
distraction and fluctuating ideas is paralleled in the way the rain and wind is reacting in the
chapter. Shifts in the wind changed the direction of the rain so that parts of me that were beginning
to feel warm were soaked anew. I

How Does Senator Bob Corkr Use Ethos Pathos Logos
Senator Bob Corker strongly uses Ethos, Pathos, and Logos. All three are used strongly throughout
his many interviews. In the first interview excerpt, Corker used Ethos heavily with a few examples
of Logos. Throughout the interview, Corker gives many examples of President Trump urging him
to campaign, and how the President would endorse him. Corker also gives examples of many
things he s done to provide Ethosthat show his credibility as a political figure. To tie into the
Ethos, Corker also used Logos when providing the dates of his meetings with other political
figures. In the second interview excerpt, Corker uses Ethos and Pathos with a small amount of
Logos. Ethos is shown in the statements given about his part in the Iran deal and the President s
urging for him to run. It is also shown when Corker tells of the President inviting him to a private
dinner and the other multiple occasions where the two have met. Similar to the first excerpt, these
Ethos examples show his credibility to be a political figure. Corker uses Pathos when he talks
about growing up, ...not using the L word, and how he doesn t understand why the President

Gnosticism And Western Esotericism
Stephan A. Hoeller defined Gnosticism as a system of teachings based on gnosis: the knowledge
of transcendence arrived at by way of interior intuitive means . The Greek words gnosis is defined
by the Oxford Dictionary as a special knowledge (or wisdom) of spiritual mysteries . An individual
or group that possesses gnosis as a part of Gnosticismis labelled with the Greek word Gnostic.
Historical context indicates that Gnosticism was originally a Jewish esoteric (secret) spirituality
that assumed a Christian form after the coming of the Christian dispensation .
Gnosticism is a significant example of Western Esotericism. Esotericism (Greek root esЕЌteros
meaning inner) is the inner gnosis held by a limited circle of people, whose aims are individual
salvation through gaining gnosis. Gnostic principles are explained through myths, just like esoteric
gnosis is. Gnosticism in Western Esotericism originated in the first century of the common era....

Rap Vs Rap Genre
Although millions of people listen to music everyday, many people never take notice of how
many genres exist throughout the world. Two genres that take popular notice in the music
industry, that may be considered as opposite sides of the coin , the genres can easily be
compared and contrasted, no matter which compare or contrast side is favored. The Broadway
genre, which is notably alongside musical theatrics, or simply theatrics in general, is not only for
the sophisticated population in it s essence, but is even favored by adolescents of all ages. Due to
the variety of musicals that have been created throughout the past one hundred years, there is a
musical for any type of person, no matter how much or how little they favor the Broadway genre.
The rap genre, however, can seem extremely different from most genres of music. Nevertheless, if a
person finds an area of the rap genre that comes to their own liking, they may come to the
realization that not all of it is the same, which can be true. Typically, rap, which stands for rhythm
and poetry , has a fast paced, recurring beat, with a vocalist rhythmically speaking patterned lyrics
throughout a song. In many popular songs today, rap can take up an entire song, or simply be put
in a single verse in another vocalist s performance. Although the rap genre and Broadway genre are
slightly similar in terms of the music production, they are, however, significantly different in the
way that they are performed, and the reasons why

Olaudah Equiano Research Paper
Romantic Period Comparison The romantic period and its literature is solely based off of reform
and change. At the time, slavery was very prodominit in the Americas, but the people profiting
from their virtues in England were oblivious to the conditions the slaves had to endure. On the
other hand, women were fighting their oppressions at home. This was not a case of poor living
conditions, like the slaves, but trying to break away from social standards and stereotypes placed
upon them. At the time, the main way to get out information and spread a cause was through
literature, because it reached the higher, literate classes in society. Mary Wollstonecraft s A
Vindication of the Rights of Woman and The Interesting Narrative of Olaudah Equiano both

Contemporary Abolitionist literature at the time revolved around sentimental appeals, Romantic
poets invoked images of slavery in order to bring the issue closer to the minds of the English
people, thus informing the general public about what is happening across the Atlantic
Ocean(Romanticized Slavery). These people were unaware to what their government was allowing
to produce for their country. Economic gain stooped social justice and many were okay with this,

The Types Of Bone Tissue
Bone tissue is a connective tissue with an abundant matrix of intercellular substances that encloses
widely separated cells. The bone matrix is made up of an inorganic component known as mineral
salts that hardens the bone, and an inorganic component collagen fibres and an amorphous mixture
called ground substance, which gives the boneits strength (Tortora, Grabowski 2001). There are
three types of cells that can be found in the bone, they are osteoblasts, osteoclasts and osteocytes.
Osteoblasts are the cells that synthesizes a specialized organic material called osteoid which is
important in the build up of mineralized bone, osteoclasts are relatively larger multi nucleate cells
made up of mitochondria and lysosomes that are responsible for the continuous erosion of bones.
Lastly the last cells found in the bone are osteocytes, these are adult osteoblast cells found in the
lacunae that have been surrounded by mineralized matrix. (Thibodeau, Patton 2003).Osteocytes are
responsible for maintaining metabolism within the bone such as the exchange of nutrients with the
blood.
There are four types of bones short bones, long bones, flat bones and irregular bones, which have
different characteristics so at to be able to function effectively. Long bones are greater in length
than width and is made up of varying numbers of ends and a shaft, an example is the humerus
which is located in the arm. Short (sesamond) bones are almost as broad as they are long, such
bones can be found

Pig Dissection
[Today in class we participated in a pig dissection, we worked in groups of two. The objective of
this assignment was to recap what we learned about the body s organs. The organs we were
instructed to cut out the pig were the large and small intestine, lungs, kidneys, heart, stomach,
liver, bladder and reproductive which was the ovaries for my partner and I because we had a
female pig. Once we took the organs out the pig we had to place and label the organs on white
construction paper. Our instructor informed us to receive extra points we needed to cut out the
brain and the both eyeballs. While the pigs were being passed out we watched a video that
demonstrated the correct way the pig should be cut down the middle. Our pig was pale and
smelly. We laid the pig on its back and tied... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Once we cut the pig down the middle, we ripped it open so that we could clearly see the organs.
The first organs we pulled from inside the pig were the large intestine, the small intestine and the
liver. We had to separate the large intestine from the small intestine. The large intestine begins at
the ileum and ends at the anus; the small intestine begins at the stomach and ends at the large
intestine. The large intestine absorbs water from food matter while the small intestine absorbs
nutrients into the bloodstream. The large and small intestine works as a tea, because they are
connected and when the wall of the small intestine contracts it sends the chyme [SHORTENED

brown. The liver is divided into two lobes. The right lobe and the left lobe. The right lobe is
large, and the left lobe is small. The liver works a filter. It filters the blood before it goes to the rest
of the body. The liver also stores iron and vitamins. Afterward we located the lungs and the heart.
The lungs assist with respiration (breathing). The heart pumps blood movement through the body.

Analysis Of The Book Severus Snape
1: Character of Severus Snape
Severus Snape is shown to be a person who is not just a strict teacher but also cold towards most
people. As the story evolves, we learn Snape s story and the side he actually is on. Professor
Severus Snape (9 January, 1960 2 May, 1998) was a half blood wizard who was the son of the
witch Eileen Snape and Muggle Tobias Snape. Severus was made a member of the Slug Club,
presumably because of his brilliance at potion making, and Horace Slughorn kept a picture of
him as a student, clutching his copy of Advanced Potion Making. Despite this, Horace did not
have many hopes for Severus s future, as his photograph was kept behind many others. Shortly
before Lily Evans was murdered by Lord Voldemort, Snape changed sides and became a member of
the Order of the Phoenix and double agent during the Second Wizarding War. With tremendous
difficulty, Snape prevented Lord Voldemort from learning the truth about his loyalties. Despite the
opinions of most others including Harry during his early life, Albus Dumbledore trusted Snape for
reasons that were kept between them both until their deaths. When he died, it was revealed that his
deep strong love for Lily Evans caused him to redeem himself, joining Dumbledore s cause at the
prospect of her protection (and, after her death, that of her son) from Lord Voldemort. verus Potter

Conversion Disorder/Functional Neurological Symptom Disorder
Abstract
Functional Neurological Disorder Symptoms also known as conversion disorder, is a disorder
that doctors say isn t a real disorder that patients seem to make up. The appearance of conversion
disorder is often related to traumas or even milder stressors such as the loss of employment or
divorce. The following essay will give a general breakdown of what the conversion disorder is, what
the symptoms are, the pathophysiology aspect, possible treatment if any and why this particular
disorder.
It s all in my head is a famous lyric from a song written by a well known Hip Hop artist Nelly,
titled Over and Over . But is it really all in one s head. There are many disorders that pertain to

disorders that deal with the psychological aspects of things. Conversion disorder also known as
Functional Neurological Symptoms Disorder (FNSD) involves motor, sensory, or seizure like

Cyrus the Great Builds the Persian Empire by Governing With Toleration and Kindness
The greatest leaders in history often leave behind some sort of legacy. Cyrus the Great was the
founder of the Persian Empire around 500 B.C., which was the largest empire of its time (Cyrus II,
the Great). The empire stretched from ancient Iran, and grew to include an area reaching from
Greece to India (Persian Empire). Cyrus reign saw some of the first contacts between Persia and

Cyrus established a new capital at Pasargadae to commemorate his victory (Cyrus II, the Great).
Cyrus was very ambitious, so he continued to work on increasing his empire. In 547 B.C. he
went to war against the wealthy King Croesus of Lydia and defeated him at the Battle of

Cyrus empire was 3,000 miles wide, but Cyrus was most interested in capturing Babylon

Babylon, which had been his ally up to that time. The people of Babylon were unhappy with
King Nabonidus because he did not honor the God Marduk (Pettman). Without warning, the
King left for Arabia, and in his ten year absence left his son Belshazzar in charge. King
Nabonidus eventually returned to Babylon in 543 B.C. and brought all of the gods from the

Achilles Villain
There is a fine line between a villain and hero. Not only are deeds taken into consideration, but
actions as well. Much like real life, it is never easy knowing who plays what role until the final
moments of their life. But is it fair to just take the bad moments and use them against a person?
Does not the means justify the end? Achilleshad a struggle within himself as well as externally
with Agamemnon. Achilles had to decide whether he should be taken advantage of to help his
city or go against his principles to save his pride. During Achilles time, the Greeks considered him
a hero due to his birth as a demigod. He was the son of the nymph Thetis and the mortal Peleus.

His departure was not a sign of cowardice. He was trying to prove a point to Agamemnon that his

which he had taken her captive had already proven his prowess as a warrior, and because he wanted
it known that he was the greatest of the Achaean warriors and they could not triumph without him.
Troy could not fall without the help of Achilles, as prophesied by Calchas.Achilles had to make a
tough decision prior to just letting them walk into their own deaths. Agamemnon demanded that
Achilles bride and war prize Briseis be given to him. Achilles believed that the demand was unjust
and resembled that of Paris kidnapping Helen. He was in the same position as Menelaos. The
argument between himself and Agamemnon was as righteous as war to Achilles. Even though
Agamemnon offered to return Briseis and other numerous gifts, Achilles stays angry. This does
indicate one of Achilles flaw: excessive pride. Agamemnon may have offered gifts, but none
amount to the public insult that Achilles had suffered. Achilles would rather have his pride restored
then have anything in the world. Agamemnon also has a history of given and taken back gifts

The Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy
Two different psychotherapies approaches were implemented in the Gloria videos each video
highlighted the respective approach of each psychotherapist. Albert Ellis who established the
Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT) and Fritz Perls who developed the Gestalt approach.
Each therapy section in the video was about 30 minutes where each psychotherapist got the
opportunity to explain his theory, interview Gloria and then discuses and explain the his founding.
The main different between these two different approaches can be explained by the effect of the
interaction between the therapist and Gloria. The Gestalt approach focus on self awareness and the
present rather than the Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy(REBT), which focus on the cognitive,
emotional and behavioral conflicts.
When it comes to the theoretical view of human nature presented in the Gestalt approach the
problem starts when someone tries to be who he or she are not. According to clinical
psychology book writing by Trull, T. J., Prinstein, M. J. (2013). Fritz Perls believes people are
able to confront their problems if they become fully aware of what is happening within oneself
and outside of oneself. When an individual does not show whom or how they really feeling in
the outside it can make it difficult for a change. It is important for the patients to be aware of
what and who they are instead of trying to become what they are not. In the Gloria set of videos

Monster Culture Thesis
Since the first horror films were produced over a hundred years ago, they have managed to keep
people shivering in terror. For a few, it is the actual monster that is the most frightening, but for the
majority, what lies beneath the surface is what brings the most terror. The visually stimulated fear
of the actual monster tends to fade, but the deeper rooted fears that the monster represents tend to
have a much longer lasting impression on the viewer. Horror films of the forties and fifties
appealed to the publics fearof war and nuclear attack, and horror films of today appeal to fears in
much of the same way. Many modern day horror films manage to strike fear in the widest audience
by appealing to their childhood fears such as the dark, strangers, or creepy clowns.... Show more

that we can not control that replace them; some adults fear the government, while others simply
fear what the future brings. Contrary to this, when we are children we all tend to fear many of the
same things. It is for this reason that the majority of horror films have tended to appeal to
childhood fears; they are similar for many people and appeal to the fears of the widest

Nordstrom: Dissension in the Ranks?
(1) What problems does Nordstrom s evaluation/compensation system have? Think about this
question while considering the objectives of the company s evaluation/compensation system, what
measures it took, and what happened as a result. A. Nordstrom was renowned for its superior
customer service that was the result of the exceptional customer service efforts (or heroics ) put by
their salespeople. So in order to retain their competitive advantage of superior customer service in
the highly competitive retailing market, they designed a evaluation/compensation system that had

They would also avoid helping their associates to keep them from getting the good SPH ratios.
This created a culture of cutthroat competition. (2) Poor differentiation of Selling and Non
Selling time There was a lack of clear differentiation of Selling and Non Selling time. Employees
were not clear about recording time spent in activities such as hand deliveries, merchandise
preparation, sales promotion and customer correspondence, etc. as Selling or Non Selling time. If
they recorded it as Non Selling work time, they were entitled to the guaranteed base wage with no
effect in their SPH. However, if they recorded it as Selling work time, their SPH would be low.
The evidence of this ambiguity in defining the Selling and Non Selling time is presented by the fact
that the Nordstrom family had to issue the Internal Memo Differentiating Selling vs. Non Selling

Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You Comparison
The Shrew In You
There are many similarities and differences between The Taming of The Shrew and 10 Things I
hate About You. The obvious and main difference is that The Taming of The Shrew was actually
written by William Shakespeare whereas 10 things I Hate About You is not written by William. The
language in the two is a little different though due to the date each was created. A similarity is that
the main characters are the same. The main similarity though is definitely the plot line. The Taming
of The Shrew is a comedy written by William Shakespeare possibly in the year of 1590. It is the
second play that Shakespeare ever wrote. 10 Things I hate About Youwas filmed in 1999. The
movie was directed by Gil Junger and was released on March 31, 1999. Although the film was
later released and the name was changed it still has the same plot line that Shakespeare wrote. So
the movie and play were basically the same except 10 Things I Hate About You is more modern
than the original play. The language between The Taming of The Shrew and 10 Things I Hate
About You is completely different. In the play the language is older and harder to understand due
to the style of it. In the movie the language is actually a lot easier to understand because it is ...

The human in the Animal Farm are the initial leaders in the story while the pigs are the computers.
In the Animal Farm, the surrounding farmers: Mr. Pilkington and Mr. Fredrick viewed the animals
as a threat to their authority which corresponds to the scenario where the initial leader malfunctions
the computers to regain power. Additionally, the human and the pigs eventually unified and agreed
to recognize the existence of one another. Although trading was viewed a human like behaviour the
farm traded with the human to improve their economical wealth. Which is similar to the fact that
although the Communist party and the Nationalist party were opposed to each other, they reunified
under the 1992 consensus for economical purposes. The two opposite forces in Animal Farm,
Chinese History and the the story we created fought against each other for authority. Nevertheless,
they concluded in a mixed government system where ideologies from both systems were combined

Our group s reverse allegory comic features the computers as the new leaders of the society. We
chose the computers as an allegory for Communism due to the fact that technology, in many people

Meeting with the Genetic Counselor
Good afternoon said the woman rising to greet them, I m Dr. Ciletti. It s good to finally meet you
in person.
Nice to finally put a face to the voice. I m Greg and this is my wife Olga.
Nice to meet you, Olga said, taking a seat across the desk from Dr. Ciletti. This whole having kids

You re doing exactly the right thing. There is no sense in worrying about things unless you have
to. Maybe I can set your mind at ease a little bit. To begin with, I know that you re both concerned
about factor viii deficiency and myotonic dystrophy because of the family history. Is there anything
else that you d like to know?
Well, began Olga, the fact that we both have these diseases in our family and there is a chance
that we could pass them on to our children has opened our eyes a little bit, but we d also like to

Descriptive Essay On Guest House
Crash A typical day at my grandparent s cabin in the Black Hills consists of a lot of sitting around
and just hanging out. Some days the whole family will go on a four wheeler ride for most of the
day. Sometimes we will go do something like visit a cave or drive to Rapid City or Custer or Hill
City or some other town out there. My Grandma cooks the best meals. You look forward to every
single meal knowing that it was going to be a great one. My dad s side of the familyincludes Stetson
and Nick. Not many people outside of my family have been to my grandparents cabin, so I ll give
you a little description, it s not very small. The main house consists of 4 bedrooms and 4
bathrooms, plus a lot of space in the kitchen and living room. Next, you have a smaller guest house
which consists of 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom, plus a garage.
So Stetson, Nick, and I always hangout together out there and do the same things. We sleep in
one of the guest house rooms where there are 3 beds with a TV. One of the beds is a full size bed
where Stetson sleeps, and Nick and I sleep in 2 twin size beds. However, the twin size beds will
give you a massage and can sit up and lay down. During the day we usually lie around or ride four
wheelers around the area.. However, on this particular day, things turned out a little different than
we expected.

Observation Of Child Observation
Introduction
Subject Chris is a 7 year old middle class Caucasian male. Observation is taking place in the child s
home over the course of two separate afternoons. Chris is a friendly and well spoken child who
is small for his age. Chris is the youngest child in his family and both observations take place
while his siblings are home. In each case one or both parents are absent.
First Hour of Observation
The first hour of observation takes place on a Saturday afternoon. Chris is in his living room with
three of his older siblings. Though they are all in the living room together, Chris is engaged in play
by himself. He is content playing alone until he needs help fastening a small, slightly complicated
harness onto a stuffed toy. He seeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The children scold the toy for poor behavior such as barking at the other toys or cutting in line
several times. As they continue to play, Chris begins to pretend to be the animals. He imitates the
sounds the animals would make if they were real (dog barks, cat meows) but also gives each
animal a distinctive human voice.
The family s pet dog comes over to investigate and the children laugh when the real animal
knocks a few of the toys over. They attempt to coerce the dog to play with them but quickly give
up when she fails to follow directions as well as their imaginary animals do. A leaves the game and
Chris continues to play, arranging the stuffed animals as if they were his audience.
Eventually he loses interest in his games and joins A on the couch to look on as she plays on a
tablet. He sits next to her but is upside down with his feet in the air, as if he were pedaling and
imaginary bicycle. He tells an amusing though completely inaccurate story about how babies are
made. His older siblings who are still in the room raise eyebrows at each other in amusement but
don t correct him. Shortly following this exchange the first hour of observation comes to an end.
Second Hour of Observation
I chose to focus specifically on Chris s interaction with his siblings for the second observational
period. As the second hour begins Chris is sitting at a child sized table in his living room playing
with Legos.

Club Drugs and Teens Essay
Introduction
In today s society, teens are a common target of anti drug campaigns and government
advertisements. The goal of these campaigns is to make teens and young adults aware of the
dangers associated with drug use. While these campaigns are generally effective, teens are still
greatly tempted by the dangerous, exciting, and fast paced world of club drugs. Despite the
information they are constantly receiving from their teachers, parents, and government media,
some teenagers will still adamantly pursue drugs in hopes of finding a good time.
Some of the club drugs that teens are likely to try are extremely dangerous and can ruin a person s

It is used as a dissociative drug, one that can cause near death or out of body experiences in users.
This was first realized when medical patients who were under the influence of Ketamine reported
experiences in which they floated around the room they were in, watching their own body being
operated on by doctors. While this was startling, Ketamine was still seen as a very useful anesthetic
in the medical world, and continued to be used by doctors.
In today s club and rave scene, especially in Europe, buying and using Ketamine from non
pharmaceutical sources can be extremely risky, due to mislabeling, inaccurately noted or
inconsistent potency, and a common practice of mixing Ketamine with other, more powerful drugs
before sales. When a user buys Ketamine from a drug dealer, it is quite possible that he or she is
also getting cocaine, heroin, or ecstasy mixed with their purchase.
Because teenagers can be uncaring about their own safety, some simply see Ketamine as a safe,
harmless drug. However, the drug they buy can be something much stronger and much more
dangerous than pure medical Ketamine. While it s use has declined since it s outlawing in 1999,
Ketamine is still sold on the streets and used by teens. It is legal in many other countries, and fears
of increased use are arising.

No Secret That Education Is The Primary Foundation For...
Dear Mayors of towns in New England, ( December 10, 1838 )
It s no secret that education is the primary foundation for genuine success in life. Therefore, it s
imperative for us to ameliorate our nation s education system as much as possible for the future
generations. For the most part, up until this point, most Americans who have pursued an education
have done so through private means. I am by no means saying that free schooling in America today
is non existent, but it s evident that the education provided by these institutions is inadequate due to
a lack of trained professionals. Therefore, we must sedulously work towards fabricating a greatly
needed public education system in our beloved nation. The challenges that America has faced ...

And perhaps most vital of all, I have received word of America s first ever teacher training college
opening in Massachusetts during sometime next year. These are all critical accomplishments, but
this is just the beginning.
As far as the goals of this reform movement are concerned, our paramount objective is to provide
each and every student with free and equal education and opportunities. In order for this to happen,
it s imperative for this public education system to be put implemented all over the nation. With
regards to the financing of these common schools, we intend on collecting the necessary funds
through taxes. Again, our hope is that these common schools will help shape Americans into
exemplary citizens. Another vital prospect to take into consideration is that a unified education
system would help assimilate all immigrants, which is fundamental, especially now during a time
when immigration has increased and will continue to increase at an exponential rate. Another
notable and somewhat ambitious goal is to procure the highest literacy rate in the world. These are
all things that definitely won t happen overnight, but we are determined to work diligently towards
meeting these goals.
Barriers and obstacles are always a part of the goal achieving process. Our education reform
movement is no different. Religious division is probably the biggest obstacle

Product Backtracking Apple’s MacBook Pro
Product Backtracking Apple s MacBook Pro
The MacBook Pro is, to most, the world s most innovative and efficient laptop, with over 4 million
sales in 2013 alone. Steve Jobs created the line of Macintosh computers, originally in 1984 in
Cupertino, California, which is currently the location of Apple s headquarters today. Although the
design of the MacBook Pro was created and originally manufactured in California, the assembly of
the laptop now takes place in China due to the fact that the company is able to earn a greater profit
from the cheap labour as opposed to that in the U.S. Apple receives the final product from a
manufacturing plant owned by Foxconn, a company that specializes in the assembly of electronics
that are mainly shipped to Northern America, whose headquarters are located in Longhua,
Shenzhen, China. Shenzhen is recognized as one of China s most economically sound cities
because it is the hub of industrial factories and the location of many company s headquarters.
Foxconn is notorious for scandals involving unsuitable environments for their factory workers, but
have since claimed that they have resolved the issues. Although there are still a fair amount of
reports from Foxconn s factory workers concern working conditions, Apple assures customers that
there are continual reliable audits of the manufacturing plants. Development, in terms of

destructive cult is a rigidly structured absolutist group usually under an authoritarian, charismatic
leader which isolates itself from established societal traditions, values, and norms, recruits members
deceptively without informed consent, and retains them by continually reinforced direct and
indirect manipulative techniques which cause personality and behavior change, deny freedom of

Such groups are usually thought of in terms of religion, although other types of cults can and do

Space Exploration: Apollo missions
By Kenneth Hanks FDSCI 101 41 fall 2015 10/30/2015
What was the motivation that led to the discovery?
The Apollo program was conceived during the Eisenhower administration in 1960. Up until this
time the US space program had only supported one astronaut in flight. The Apollo program would
carry 3 astronauts. The motivation was to be able to orbit 3 instead of 2 or 1. At the beginning of
the research and design into Apollo, the trips to the moon were not anticipated until the far future.
The US was perceived to be behind the USSR in space exploration. President Kennedy changed all
that.

Everyman Character Analysis
In today s society, there are many views concerning how to obtain a right relationship with God.
Considering the context of the late fifteenth century morality play Everyman, it seems that different
views have been around for quite some time now. The author is unknown, yet it is easy to see that
they have a unique writing style. For example, the main character is referred to as Everyman. This
appears to be done with the intention to relate the character to the audience. In this English morality
play, the author uses a unique style of allegory to express many desires that people often have
throughout their life. Through this unique expression, many characters are introduced that show
man s desire. In the end, everyman turns from his self centeredness and comes to God. This is only
after he realizes that everyone else has abandoned him. Throughout the play, numerous characters
are introduced. What is unique concerning the characters is that most of them do not have
individual personalities. Everyman and God are the only main characters that are not just moral
personalities. Death is one of the first on the scene, and tells everyman I am sent to thee rom God
out of his majesty (Everyman line 90 91). Everyman appears to be confused as to why death
would be sent to him. Shortly after this, death states to everyman For before God thou shalt
answer, and show thy many bad deeds, and good but a few (Everyman line 107 108). This
demonstrates that the author views a time of

Essay On Cyber Espionage In China
The 2015 agreement between the United States and China concerning economic espionage has been
viewed with both optimism and skepticism. It s the first agreement of any substance on the issue,
which is a hopeful sign. China doesn t enjoy a reputation of carefully adhering to international
agreements and there is doubt about whether the agreement will have any practical effect on China
s behavior.
Since the early 2000s, cyber espionage issues have increasingly strained U.S. China relations. All
countries engage in espionage, but China is one of the largest and most persistent perpetrators (as
is, to be fair, the United States). In 2010, suspected Chinese cyber activities started to become a
regular topic of discussion inside the U.S. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
China blames a Cold Warmentality for the United States characterizing China as the miscreant. As
Xi Jinping put it in September 2015, The Cold War has long ended. [China and the U.S.] should
make joint efforts to build a new model of major country relations between two countries, and
realize non conflict, non confrontation, mutual respect, and cooperation.
The differing approaches to cyberspace use and government also reflect, to some extent, the larger
world views of the U.S. and China. The United States values freedom of expression and self
determination. It seeks to increase these freedoms in its international interactions and believes the
free flow of information over the internet is the key to strategic and diplomatic success.
The U.S. also has a strong commitment to privacy (although not as strong as the European Union,
which recently invalidated the U.S. EU data transfer agreement because it provided insufficient
protections for EU citizens). The activities of government agencies like the National Security
Agency (NSA) in cyberspace has generated lively debate in the U.S. regarding how best to
balance privacy and national security. Most recently, Congress eliminated the NSA s bulk phone
records collection program, replacing it with a constrained measure designed to keep the records in
phone companies hands. The internal, on going privacy debate influences U.S. policies across the
board, but especially with regard to cyber activities.

Machiavelli Vs Obama
Alexandria Sledd
POLS 1102
Sunday, September 17, 2017
Machiavelli or Obama? In the early 1500s, Machiavelli wrote a book based off of Barak Obama.
The prince is what some call him. Well, not quite. Machiavelli s book lays out a platform for
what a prince, or in this case a president, should be like and what actions to take for his or her
own country. Barack Obama has features about him that correlate with what Machiavelli states
throughout his book. Machiavelli may not have been writing about Barrack, but maybe he helped
shape Barrack Obama as a president. The way Barrack Obama acts on a daily basis, talks about
certain issues, and his accomplishments throughout his presidency all coincide with what
Machiavelli describes in his book The Prince. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyone knows that it is a fine thing for a prince to keep his word and to live with integrity
rather than with cunning. But our recent experience has been that the princes who achieved
great things haven t worried much about keeping their word. Knowing how to use cunning to
outwit men, they have eventually overcome those who have behave honestly (Machiavelli, 37).
An example of how Obama fooled the Americans was when he appointed Lawrence Summers
and Timothy Geithner as his economic advisors. These two men are very strong supporters of
financial deregulation; however, Obama made a statement about how he was appalled by the
greed demonstrated on wall street. This is not only hypocritical, but it is exactly as Machiavelli
would approve of as he states, A prudent lord, therefore, can t and shouldn t keep his word when
that could be used against him and the reasons that led him to give it in the first place exist no
longer. If men were entirely good this advice would be bad; but in fact they are dismally bad, and
won t keep their promises to you, so you need not keep your promises to them. And a prince will
never be short of legitimate reasons for not keeping his promises (Machiavelli,

Mentioned in Daniel Vastfjall s research, Peterson Aniansson (1998), as cited in Vastfjall, 2002

Transcontinental Airways History
Flight has become romanticized by humanity, it provides Freedom . Throughout the majority
human history, humans have used land and water for their transportation needs. The invention of
the airplane opened the use of a third medium, air. Flight only has the illusion of freeing us from
earth. Airplanes would not be able to maintain flight without their ground based systems. These
systems are arranged along flight corridors or airways. The Transcontinental Airway was the first
major flight corridor constructed in the United States. The ground systems constructed along these
corridors have made major impacts upon the landscape of the early 20th century.

18,000 miles, 15550 beacons, and 263 intermediate landing fields were built over the course of

lights installed and where they were installed was dictated by the individual challenges of the
terrain of each airway. It is hard to pin a date as to when the airway system was phased out. There
was no sweeping change to cause their disappearance. Small incremental changes and advances in
technology made them obsolete.
Today remnants of the system still exist throughout the country, primarily in the west where
development pressures were lower. The airway system pioneered by the Transcontinental is still in
use today, though with a much reduced capacity, in mountainous regions of

Everything We Know To Get Started Essay
How did everything that we know today get started?
The beginning of everything, the big bang, the idea that the universe was suddenly born and is not
infinite. Up to the middle of the 20th century most scientist thought the universe as infinite and
ageless, until Einstein s theory of relativity gave us a better understanding of gravity and Edwin
Hubble discovered that galaxies are moving apart from one another in a way that fits previous
predictions. In 1964 by accident cosmic background radiation was discovered in relic of the early
universe, which together with other observational evidence made the big bang the accepted theory
in science. Since then improved technology in science like the Hubble telescope has given us a
pretty good picture of the big bang and the structure of the cosmos. Recent ... Show more content on

Finally there was light! Okay but what about that part we didn t talk about? What happened at
the beginning? This part can be defined as the big bang. We don t know at all what happened
here; at this point our tools break down. Natural laws stop making sense, time itself becomes
wibbly wobbly. To understand what happened here, we need a theory the unifies Einstein s
relativity and quantum mechanics, something countless scientist are working on right now. But
this leaves us with lots of unanswered questions. Were there universes before our own? Is this
the first and only universe? What started the big bang, or did it occur naturally based on laws
that we don t understand yet? We don t know, and maybe we never will. But what we don know
is that the universe as we know it started here and gave birth to particles, galaxies, stars, the earth,
and you. Since we ourselves are made of dead stars, we are not separate from the universe; we
are part of it. You could even say that we are the universe s way of experiencing itself. So lets keep

Symptoms And Treatment Of Dr. Chang, The Surgeon
As a youth, I recall experiencing a great deal of pain in my lower right abdomen. The pain was
so excruciating that any movement, no matter how slight would leave me incapacitated. Sleep
was the best remedy and I took advantage of it whenever I could. My mother, a single parent to
my brother, sister, and I took care of me the best way that she knew how, until one day my
condition worsened. I was so weak that I could barely open my eyes. My mother decided that I
needed help and rushed me to the hospital. She was informed that I had appendicitis and that I
needed emergency surgeryor I would soon die. She gave her consent and I was prepped and rushed
into the operating room. I don t remember much after the surgery, but what I do remember is Dr.
Chang, the surgeon that performed the procedure, entering my room only to be nearly tackled to
the ground and hugged by my mother who could barely contain her gratitude. She began to cry
and thanked him for saving my life. In witnessing that moment, I decided that I wanted to be just
like Dr. Chang when I grew up. Though I was very young at the time, my mind was made up, I
was going to become a physician!
In the years following my near death experience, my exposure to the medical field was limited to
yearly physicals and the occasional flu shot. As a youth, we did not have a family doctor so I was
exposed to a variety of different physicians at the clinic that we frequented. I soon began to notice

  • 2. Raising Money For The Fund Raising money for the Rally for the Jimmy Fund over the last few weeks has been an eye opening experience into both the world of fundraising for charity as well as in professional sales. Getting out into the real world and applying skills from classroom that were still fresh in your mind was a far better learning experience than weekly homework assignments. The Jimmy Fund is a charity that does a great job branding and making its presence known so convincing people to donate was less of telling them about the product and more getting them to open up their wallets and actually make a donation. As the weeks progressed and we began to learn more and more about selling it became much easier to speak with people and get my point across about... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The third week I focused on Emails to people that I knew that worked in with an attached interest gaining statement with my personal donation link for them to send along to anyone they believed would be willing to donate. The fourth week was where I focused more on my family members and family friends, sending texts, personal emails, and making calls to people that would take the time to donate. Finally, the fifth week was meant for follow ups as well as reaching out to a close contacts that would put me over my goal of $601. I believe that this approach would let me find out what worked and what didn t while still giving me time to reach my goal. I chose the people that I requested donations from very carefully, I believed that it was important, when it came down to it to have people that I truly believed would make a donation and focused hard on them rather than sending spam emails to everyone I can asking for donations. My immediate family was an easy choice, my mother loves volunteering and my father has a sales career so they were an easy target for getting a donation, especially since raising a lot of money gave me a better grade. After that I focused on family that work in business and had a lot of connections who would want to donate to the cause, I have two cousins working at the startup Gradifi, a brother who works for a growing company, Domo, in Utah, my dad at Ironside, and a cousin at Dell/EMC in ... • 4. Disadvantages Of Social Media Social Media Paper Jeremy Head HUM/186 9/29/2017 Allyson Wells Advantages and Disadvantages of Easily Obtainable Information The rise of technology has shaped our generation in so many ways. As a child, I remember going to the library and checking out books when I had a paper or project due for class. As I got older the need for finding books or publications for research purposes decreased considerably. As I entered middle school, a class was being taught on computer literacy, and looking back on that class I see how important it was to get started early. I can only recall one time in the last three years where I stepped foot into a public library, and that was to place my vote for the 2016 presidential election. The fact that I can hop on my phone, and search anything I could possibly want to know about, and that information be displayed in a matter of seconds is an amazing and wonderful thing. The downside to the capability of information at your fingertips is that it causes people (including myself) to be lazy. Vocabulary and literacy levels are lower now, because you don t have to read several books to find what you are looking for. I loved reading for pleasure when I was younger, and still do, but that was because I was required to read more to find answers to questions. Siri and Google have almost eliminated the need to do such research. Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media With the rise of technology came the creation of social media. ... Before the attack, the United States kept a low profile on International affairs, and concentrated on the domestic affairs at hand. This tragic moment in American history forever remembered. In 1940, the United States was extremely against this animosity and reacted with trade embargoes and monetary approvals. FDR had talked with the Dutch and the British to see if they would agree upon embargoes on Japan. Franklin Delano Roosevelt did not want a conflict in the pacific as the United States was not prepared for war. For instance, the oil embargo that was organized between the British, the Dutch, and the United States was about 90% of Japan s imported oil. [3] This upset Japan because without oil or fuel their military and war efforts would come to a complete stop. Beginning of the year in 1941, FDR decided that the Pacific Fleet would move to Hawaii from San Diego in the hopes of discouraging the invasion of the Japanese. Negotiations between Washington and Tokyo had been going on for several months without a resolution. On July 2, 1941, the Imperial High Command was tired of negotiations with the United States and needed to proceed with their development within Asia even with the embargo in place and meaning it would be at a high risk of war with the US. [4] Therefore, the Japanese had deceived the United States, ignored the arbitration, and moved forward with their plans. The United States had hoped that this restrictive embargo would halt Japan s assault as negotiations had continued well into November. Instead of giving into the United States demands, the Japanese had decided to finally put their surprise ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Low Earth Orbit Essay Thomas Kern ESS102 Research Paper Space Debris in Low Earth Orbit An unfortunate consequence of man exploring off planet has been the steady growth of junk from derelict and unused spacecraft. According to NASA there are over half a million pieces of junk in low earth orbit. Because these pieces of junk travel at orbital speeds of around 17,500 miles per hour, they posses tremendous amounts of energy and are capable of doing substantial damage (NASA). Most of the dangerous hard to track debris comes from collisions (NASA). When old satellites are allowed to orbit on a collision free path they are relatively easy to track, and avoid. However, problems arise once these satellites are involved in collisions. Collisions can break apart ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A variety of techniques are being developed to try and put this principle into use, for constructing all sorts of things in low earth orbit. A proposed method of recycling satellites is to tow old satellites out to mars where the materials could be used by future colonies. Tom Markusic CEO of startup firefly systems, has a plan to do just that (Howell). Firefly systems plans to use solar powered craft to slowly and efficiently move things from earths orbit to mars. Once there they could be broken down by colonists in orbit for their nuts bolts and various other components (Howell). This could actually create a much needed market for supplies if space travel becomes commercialized. If part is needed part way through a mission and it can be found on a derelict satellite, Tom Markusic s company could be the missing link that could retrieve a bolt or solar panel and bring it to whoever needs it eliminating the need for an expensive launch from the earths surface. Another potential way of recycling space craft is increasing their longevity. Often times only a single component fails taking down all of a satellite s systems. If they are designed modularly then satellites would only require a simple part replacement to be working again. DARPA is currently researching a craft that would dock with satellites, assess damage, and potential make repairs (Howell). Having ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It can be referred to as an extension of child s play as it stimulates offspring of child s play and it forces us to react imaginatively to offers; like a child might do in the playground. As a class, we have explored this idea in a game we play called Space Jump , there are many alterations to the game but the general idea is this; one student starts miming an everyday activity and is told to freeze. A second player then volunteers to build another scene based on the frozen position of the first player. The original space jump then gets played backwards. This game helps us as actors develop necessary improvisation skills such as being able to accept offers, react to others and create ensemble. Games such as these, and improvisation in general allows you to explore your physicality and abilities to present different characters on the spot. The entire plot and conflict is created by the harsh environment. At times the description of Pi s surroundings is reflective of his emotional and mental condition. At a point in time where Pi is confused, scared, and vulnerable, unsure of whether or not he would make it, his environment shows just that. Darkness came. There was no moon. Clouds hid the stars. The contour of things became hard to distinguish. Everything disappeared, the sea, the lifeboat, my own body. The sea was quiet and there was hardly any wind, so I couldn t even ground myself in sound. I seemed to be floating in pure, abstract blackness...I couldn t imagine... This is not the only time where the ocean provides an insight to how Pi is feeling and the state of his mind. In chapter 54 Pi spends hours coming up with, and switching between plans, to eliminate Richard Parker. This constant distraction and fluctuating ideas is paralleled in the way the rain and wind is reacting in the chapter. Two genres that take popular notice in the music industry, that may be considered as opposite sides of the coin , the genres can easily be compared and contrasted, no matter which compare or contrast side is favored. The Broadway genre, which is notably alongside musical theatrics, or simply theatrics in general, is not only for the sophisticated population in it s essence, but is even favored by adolescents of all ages. Due to the variety of musicals that have been created throughout the past one hundred years, there is a musical for any type of person, no matter how much or how little they favor the Broadway genre. The rap genre, however, can seem extremely different from most genres of music. Nevertheless, if a person finds an area of the rap genre that comes to their own liking, they may come to the realization that not all of it is the same, which can be true. Typically, rap, which stands for rhythm and poetry , has a fast paced, recurring beat, with a vocalist rhythmically speaking patterned lyrics throughout a song. In many popular songs today, rap can take up an entire song, or simply be put in a single verse in another vocalist s performance. At the time, slavery was very prodominit in the Americas, but the people profiting from their virtues in England were oblivious to the conditions the slaves had to endure. On the other hand, women were fighting their oppressions at home. This was not a case of poor living conditions, like the slaves, but trying to break away from social standards and stereotypes placed upon them. According to popularmechanics.com, there are an estimated 30 million surveillance cameras now deployed in the United States, shooting 4 billion hours of footage a week. Americans are being watched at all times, more than ever. George Orwells novel 1984 is a great example to what a government would look like if it had complete surveillance and power over its citizens. The United Statesmight not be at the same level as Big Brother in 1984 yet, but it certainly looks like it might be going in that direction. Big Brother and the party have complete control and power over its citizens in Oceania, a fictional country in 1984.The party uses telescreens in every citizen s room to monitor their every move throughout the day. • 22. The Types Of Bone Tissue Bone tissue is a connective tissue with an abundant matrix of intercellular substances that encloses widely separated cells. The bone matrix is made up of an inorganic component known as mineral salts that hardens the bone, and an inorganic component collagen fibres and an amorphous mixture called ground substance, which gives the boneits strength (Tortora, Grabowski 2001). There are three types of cells that can be found in the bone, they are osteoblasts, osteoclasts and osteocytes. Osteoblasts are the cells that synthesizes a specialized organic material called osteoid which is important in the build up of mineralized bone, osteoclasts are relatively larger multi nucleate cells made up of mitochondria and lysosomes that are responsible for the continuous erosion of bones. Lastly the last cells found in the bone are osteocytes, these are adult osteoblast cells found in the lacunae that have been surrounded by mineralized matrix. (Thibodeau, Patton 2003).Osteocytes are responsible for maintaining metabolism within the bone such as the exchange of nutrients with the blood. There are four types of bones short bones, long bones, flat bones and irregular bones, which have different characteristics so at to be able to function effectively. Long bones are greater in length than width and is made up of varying numbers of ends and a shaft, an example is the humerus which is located in the arm. The family s pet dog comes over to investigate and the children laugh when the real animal knocks a few of the toys over. This was first realized when medical patients who were under the influence of Ketamine reported experiences in which they floated around the room they were in, watching their own body being operated on by doctors. While this was startling, Ketamine was still seen as a very useful anesthetic in the medical world, and continued to be used by doctors. In today s club and rave scene, especially in Europe, buying and using Ketamine from non pharmaceutical sources can be extremely risky, due to mislabeling, inaccurately noted or inconsistent potency, and a common practice of mixing Ketamine with other, more powerful drugs before sales. When a user buys Ketamine from a drug dealer, it is quite possible that he or she is also getting cocaine, heroin, or ecstasy mixed with their purchase. Because teenagers can be uncaring about their own safety, some simply see Ketamine as a safe, harmless drug. Dear Mayors of towns in New England, ( December 10, 1838 ) It s no secret that education is the primary foundation for genuine success in life. Therefore, it s imperative for us to ameliorate our nation s education system as much as possible for the future generations. For the most part, up until this point, most Americans who have pursued an education have done so through private means. I am by no means saying that free schooling in America today is non existent, but it s evident that the education provided by these institutions is inadequate due to a lack of trained professionals. Therefore, we must sedulously work towards fabricating a greatly needed public education system in our beloved nation. The challenges that America has faced ... These are all critical accomplishments, but this is just the beginning. As far as the goals of this reform movement are concerned, our paramount objective is to provide each and every student with free and equal education and opportunities. In order for this to happen, it s imperative for this public education system to be put implemented all over the nation. With regards to the financing of these common schools, we intend on collecting the necessary funds through taxes. Again, our hope is that these common schools will help shape Americans into exemplary citizens. Another vital prospect to take into consideration is that a unified education system would help assimilate all immigrants, which is fundamental, especially now during a time when immigration has increased and will continue to increase at an exponential rate. Another notable and somewhat ambitious goal is to procure the highest literacy rate in the world. These are all things that definitely won t happen overnight, but we are determined to work diligently towards meeting these goals. Barriers and obstacles are always a part of the goal achieving process. Our education reform movement is no different. Religious division is probably the biggest obstacle ... • 49. Everyman Character Analysis In today s society, there are many views concerning how to obtain a right relationship with God. Considering the context of the late fifteenth century morality play Everyman, it seems that different views have been around for quite some time now. The author is unknown, yet it is easy to see that they have a unique writing style. For example, the main character is referred to as Everyman. This appears to be done with the intention to relate the character to the audience. In this English morality play, the author uses a unique style of allegory to express many desires that people often have throughout their life. Through this unique expression, many characters are introduced that show man s desire. In the end, everyman turns from his self centeredness and comes to God. This is only after he realizes that everyone else has abandoned him. Throughout the play, numerous characters are introduced. What is unique concerning the characters is that most of them do not have individual personalities. Everyman and God are the only main characters that are not just moral personalities. Death is one of the first on the scene, and tells everyman I am sent to thee rom God out of his majesty (Everyman line 90 91). Everyman appears to be confused as to why death would be sent to him. But our recent experience has been that the princes who achieved great things haven t worried much about keeping their word. An example of how Obama fooled the Americans was when he appointed Lawrence Summers and Timothy Geithner as his economic advisors.
