The British board of film classification are the people who have to give the age rating to films so that
the audience that watch it doesn’t get offended by the content that the film holds. They look at the
things such as violence, sex, language, nudity, mature themes, drug use, imitable behaviour,
discrimination and blood and gore.
I think that the age rating for our film is going to be a 15 as it will have a range of violence
throughout but it will not be too gory so that it will have to be an 18. When there will be violent
scenes it won’t be gory, for example when the man gets shot at the start of the film it will cut to the
title slide so that the audience doesn’t have to see a men getting shot. This will make the age rating
lower and will make the audience for our film wider. There will be no sexual scenes in the opening
scene so we won’t have to think about what can be shown and the age rating will not be affected.
There not are any acts of discrimination shown in our scene so the age rating will not be affected.
Violence Medium violence, gun shots
Language Some bad language throughout
Sex/Nudity Mild to non
Themes Conflict, heroic, violence, war,
The things throughout our film that will need to be considered when giving it an age rating will be
the violence in things such as the first scene where a man will get shot. To make sure that the age
rating isn’t changed we will need to make sure that we don’t put too much violence within. There
will also be some mild language within the film. This will need to be controlled so that it doesn’t
affect the audience. There will be no scenes of nudity in our film so it will not be needed to be taken
in to consideration.
