Film Rating System
All films in the uk
have to have an age
rating.

This is to stop
certain ages seeing
things that are
inappropriate for
their ages.

This is decided by the
“bbfc”(British board of film
classification)
Age ratings
There are seven different film ratings
This age rating means that it is
suitable for all ages
This means that the film needs
parental guidance as the film may
contain a small amount of violence,
bad language or references to sex
and drugs but will be suitable for
children around the ages of 8.
These ages are to be viewed by children aged 12 or over
however children may see a film aged 12a if accompanied by an
adult. The film may contain things like bad language (as long it
is not frequently used), references to sex and drugs and also
violence as long as it doesn't show too much blood or injuries.
This is to be viewed by people aged 15 or over. As
may contain strong violence, frequent strong
language, sexual activity, strong verbal references
to sex, nudity, discriminatory language or
behaviour and drug taking.
These films are to be seen by only adults aged 18 or over.
very strong violence
frequent strong language and very strong language (eg
c**t), sexual activity, strong horror, strong blood and gore
real sex (in some circumstances), discriminatory language
and behaviour.
Our Film
• After looking through the guidelines for film
classification I believe that our film will classify
for a PG or 12A rating. This is because there is
no violence, bad language, sex or references
to drugs. However our film does show bullying
and some level of psychological aspects that
young children may not understand or like.
Also with our film rating as a PG or 12A it
allows our film to be viewed by a larger
audience.
