2. WHAT ARE TECHNOLOGIES ?
Technologies are hardware this can include camera equipment as well as
computers, technologies also include software such as Photoshop and movie
studio platinum

3. PLANNING AND RESEARCH
Blogger – I used Blogger in all three phases of this task, I uploaded all my research and
planning, construction updates, my preliminary piece, imperium and all my evaluations including
this one, at first I found the platform difficult to use but I soon got the hang of it, developing my
skills on uploading, ordering and titling.
Slideshare – At first I found this platform very easy to use but then it began to break, it wouldn’t
let me log in, when it did the program would crash, when I attempted to create a new account it
wouldn’t let me, when I attempted to reset my password it never sent the renewal email, overall
I found this application difficult to use, the one thing I would say I have learnt from the
Slideshare experience is never to rely on technology and always have a back up plan.
Prezi – I have used Prezi in the past but only a small amount, considering the workload that this
task gave us I have now used Prezi a lot and I would say I am now very experienced with the
application, I learnt how to order the slides as well as embed videos and pictures into
presentations, this application is very easy to use and was fairly reliable throughout the whole
process of planning and research.

4. CONSTRUCTION
Camera – The camera was very simple to operate and set up, I improved my
overall framing and movement shots using the camera, we had no issues with it,
we used the same camera to film the whole of imperium, overall I have improved
my camera skills.
Microphone – similar to the camera this technology was very simple to use I
simply had to press two button to turn it on, overall this was a very simple
technology to use, I did learn how to import sound from narration.
Led Light – I used this technology to light a shot and make it high key, I learnt that
you have to consider shadows when using this tool.
Movie studio platinum – I used this tool the most throughout the entire
construction phase, from slicing shots to importing sound effects I learnt a lot, I
used this through my GCSES so I had the basics down, one large thing I did learn
was about using filters to increase the brightness of a shot witch we needed as the
shot was too low key.

5. EVALUATION
In the evaluation I used some technologies that I have already talked about, this includes
Blogger, Prezi and Slideshare.
Word – I have been using word since I started primary school so I am extremely familiar with
the application, there really is nothing I could of learn from using this program as I already
have knowledge of it.
PowerPoint – Very similar to word I have been PowerPoint word since I started primary
school so I am extremely familiar with the application, there really is nothing I could of learn
from using this program as I already have knowledge of it.
Emaze – I used Emaze for the first time during the Evaluation stage, overall I dislike the
application as it Is very laggy and slow, but I did learn how to use it to a certain extent, as
well as gaining a competence to be able to use it even with the slowness.

6. CONCLUSION
To conclude, over the three stages that I have
gone through I would say that I have gained
knowledge in many different technology, in both
hardware and software, I believe my biggest
learning curve has been the construction phase,
as I had a small amount of experience in it
previously but had never taken on a project this
large, overall I thing my media skills in general
have improved significantly.
