Macc Da Tho In John Gantz s Things Fall Apart
Macc Da Tho is the enchanting king of Lagin and has this magical hound that was the protector of
Lagin and his fame grew so large that everyone in the different lands would love to have. This prestige
s hound goes by the name of Ailbhe and the men of Ulster and Connacht both want Ailbhe for
themselves. Both participants decide to show up on the same day unknowingly to Macc Da, but little
did they know that Macc actually knew they were both coming. Since Macc Da is a trickster, when he
heard a knock on the door he opened it and answered, We were not expecting you, warriors!
Nevertheless, I welcome you! Come into the courtyard! (Gantz 182) Macc Da Tho knew what he was
doing at this point, therefore he had the warriors from both Ulster and ... Show more content on

The rule was that the best warrior was the one who would be able to cut the pig and feed the best
portions of the meat to his warriors and leave the crappy pieces of meat to his opponents. Conall did
just that and cut the best portions of the pig for himself and his other Ulster warriors. While giving Cet
and the Connacht warriors such a small portion and the worst parts of the pig basically leaving just the
scraps, that a battle breaks out between them. Although the battle broke out Macc Da Tho knew that
this was going to unfold and hoping that it would, so he let it go on for a little bit. When the battle
started moving out of the dining hall and into the courtyard Macc decided that he should become
involved. Mac finally appeared and let the hound loose, At last, Macc Da Tho came out with the dog
in hand and unleashed it to see which side it would choose. (Gantz 187) The hound then chose the side
of Ulaid and fought with Conall against Cet of Connacht. As the battle went on Ailill and Medb s
charioteer named Fer Loga killed the dog of Macc Da Tho and hid along in tall grass while the rest of
his army fled. As Conchubur was riding along Fer Loga leapt onto Conchubur s chariot and threatened
to kill him, but wouldn t if Conchubur gave him what he had required. What Fer Loga wanted was

Beowulf Vs Grendel
This story is about a guy named Beowulf who lived in a far away country who came to Hrothgar s
kingdom to save his kingdom from a monster. The monsters name is Grendel and Grendel has come to
Higlac, which is the name of Hrothgar s mead, and murdered multiple people. Between the movie and
the text, there are multiple differences. One major difference between the movie and the text is the
characters. In the movie the characters are shown completely different than they are in text. For
example, in the text Grendel could not speak and was a wolf like monster, but in the movie he was
able to speak and did not look anything wolf like instead he looked more human like. Another
example is Grendel s mother, in the text Grendel s mother looked very similar to him including her
she wolf looks, but instead in the movie she looked like Jennifer Lopez. The text states, but her supper

text Beowulf never had a son of his own as to where in the movie he had a son with Grendel s mother.
In the text Beowulf dies while fighting the dragon, but in the movie he was the one who killed the
dragon and did not die until afterwards. According to the text, Then he saw, hanging on the wall, a
heavy sword, hammered by giants, strong and blessed with their magic, the best of all weapons but so
massive that no ordinary man could lift its carved and decorated length. He drew it from its scabbard,
broke the chain on its hilt, and then, savage, now angry and desperate, lifted it high over his head and
struck with all the strength he had left, caught her in the neck and cut it through, broke bones and all.
Her body fell to the floor, lifeless (line

Romeo Dallaire, “Cri de coeur” Essay
Romeo Dallaire, Cri de coeur , AArgument of Truths
Dallaire did exceptional when it comes to the naming of his essay, by not only simplifying the subject
but maintaining the true meaning. Cri de coeur, also known as A cry from the heart , is not only
heartbreaking but truthfully eye opening. Every event recounted is straight from Dallaire s point of
view, which could have made his rhetorical appeals intertwine. It is clear from reading that one appeal
stood above the rest while reading, which is pathos. Dallaire decided to share something with the
world that a majority have never experienced nor hopefully will ever have to. By doing so, he
deliberately unleashed a handful of emotions. Using pathos allowed him to appeal to our ... Show

Being able to see both sides of him definitely improves the overall meaning to the memoir. Therefore
we, as the readers, are not only being held to see just one perspective and feel simply just one feeling.
Dallaire does amazing when it comes to opening himself up, and by doing so, letting others into a
world and story that once was hidden.
Having been so open about his feelings and the events that occurred within Rwanda, therefore bound
to surface just how disappointed he was, with not only the government, but mostly with himself. He
recalls and describes events that not only shock, but disturb the majority of the readers. The biggest
parts of the whole essay that truly emotionally connected to people in more ways than one would have
to be the description of the young orphaned boy and the way the government talks about the situation.
We will recommend to our government not to intervene as the risks are high and all that is here are
humans. (Dallaire, 502, 18) Being able to look at the devastating chaos and be able to say all that is
here are humans. As if humans young or old, black or white, male or female, aren t worth our time and
oh so valuable finances. If Dallaire did not have readers attentions before his point, it is guaranteed he
did afterwards.

The Assessment Of Water Quality And Stream Health Essay
cology Lab Four: The Assessment of Water Quality and Stream Health in Local (Lowell MA)
Freshwater Systems via the Analysis of Biotic and Abiotic Indicators Abstract: Overall the objective
of this lab exercise was to introduce students to watershed ecology and the ecological factors that
affect water quality. Students used biotic (macroinvertebrates ) and abiotic indicators to asses the
quality of water in a freshwater body. Specifically students collected water chemistry data (hardness,
nitrate/phosphate concentrations, dissolved O2 and pH) to asses the quality of water. Additionally
macroinvertebrates from the benthic environment of a respective field site were collected, analyzed as
well as catalogued. Collectively the results indicated that a greater species diversity was indicative of
greater water quality(Lenat). Likewise within a freshwater ecosystems a negative correlation was
found to exist between fluctuating abiotic factors, species diversity and water quality. It can be
concluded that amongst the three field sites the ranking of water quality from highest to lowest is as
follows; Great Brook Farm, Russell Mill pond, Lawrence Street Stream. Introduction: There are two
categories for bodies of freshwater, these are lentic and lotic. A lentic body of water in stationary such
as a lake or pond and a lotic body of water is flowing such as a river or stream. Lentic or lotic, a
productive body of freshwater is a resource that provides water for drinking, agriculture,

Encrypting Machines During World War Two
During World War 2 was a time of devastation. It was also a great time of innovation. One of the
greatest innovations was the beginning of modern computing. During World War 2 encryption was
each army s main way of keeping war plans secure. One of the most famous encrypting machines was
named the Enigma. The Enigma was a machine that took input from one side; encrypts it and sends
the message to another operator who then translates it using a code book (Gladwin). Using this
machine, the German s kept nearly all the information secure from other countries. To break these
encryptions, the British secret service along with many other countries started to build machines that
could defeat the Enigmas encryption (Gladwin). Soon after the Germans ... Show more content on

While bloody fights were taken place, the communication war raged on in secrecy. Bletchley Park is
where the fight mostly took place. In the late 1930 s in a remote area outside London, lived a mansion
(Gladwin). This mansion was soon to be converted into a super secret compound called Bletchley
Park. The park was surrounded by small cottages in which students from the local colleges were
recruited from to live there (Gladwin). Their task was to decipher all types of encoded messages in
secrecy away from the public eye. Soon to be there was the infamous Alan Turing. Although it was
mainly a code breaking facility, there was not a more daunting task to decode messages coming from
the infamous German machine Enigma. Enigma was an encrypting type righter which used rotors
which created nearly impossible trillion different results each time it sent out a message (Gladwin). It
was nearly impossible to decipher by just using paper. Turing had an idea of creating a large machine
in which could emulate nearly thirty six Enigmas at any time while running (Gladwin). The machine
Turing had created was known as a bombe. Soon after they would use these bombes to crack the
Enigma codes being sent from the Germans (Gladwin). Although Bletchley Park was one of the main
places, in an interview with Jean Valentine, it was found that by the end of the war there was at least
five other places where bombes were stationed at (Lewis). This machine was one of the first
successful models of its kind. Also in the interview Jean states that, These machines did the equivalent
work of 36 Enigmas and 200 of them were working 24 hours a day... (Lewis). Bombes were one of the
most successful machines of its time for breaking the Enigma. Secrecy was also a key component in
Bletchley Park. In the interview with Jean Valentine, it was found that if anyone asked them about
what they were doing they were to tell others that

The ramifications of an individual s discovery has the potential to change their perspective of
themselves and the world. Robert Frost shows how the ramifications of his personas discovery can
change their outlook of themselves and the wider society through highlighting the importance of
human relationships in his texts The Tuft of Flowers and Mending Wall . However the different

Mending Wall begins with the persona who desires companionship and wants to create a connection
with his neighbour. It is seen that through the ramifications of discovery, the persona is confronted
which leads to him forming a negatively changed perspective of himself and his neighbour. His desire
to engage and create a connection with his neighbour is conveyed through his constant questioning of
the need for a wall. He asks questions such as Before I built a wall, I d ask to know/What I was
walling in or walling out , which allows him to realise that walls prevent and hinder connections. As a
result of this, he attempts to convince his neighbour and show him how walls are useless and needless
in society. Through the analogy he is all pine and I am apple orchard/My apple trees will never get
across the persona tries to further convince his neighbour to remove the wall which hinders human
connection. However the neighbour uses the aphorism Good fences make good neighbors throughout
the poem to respond to the questioning of the persona which shows how he is incapable of making a
connection due to his lack of understanding. The wall in this poem symbolically shows the barriers
which are present in society which prevent and hinder communication and

Quality Management In BusinessIntroductionIn The Business
Quality Management in Business
Introduction
In the business context, quality management is a broad concept. Customer demands quality in a
product rather than price. So, organization must focus on the quality enhancement. Quality usually
leads to increasing cost. Business organizations have to manage quality in such a way that it leads to
as minimum cost as possible. Not every organization can do this. But, it should be their main goal and
objective of structuring their business. In the competitive market, quality management is the most
important term that is to be considered in every process.

Mozilla thinks the best approach is empowering the employee. They introduce many incentives to
increase the employees participation.
1.4 Explain the similarities and differences between the different methods.
Total quality management system involves handling, controlling and directing to achieve excellence.
There are four main methods used in quality management system; ISO series, six sigma, lean and
business process reengineering. There exist similarities and differences among the four methods. The
differences among the methods exist in the application of each.
ISO standard focuses on the performance consistency for quality product, where Six Sigma measures
of the quality strives for the near perfection. Lean production concerns for the reduction of quantity of
resources used. Business process reengineering involves the change of people and other aspects for the
changing technology (Andersson, Eriksson Torstensson, 2006).
Each method benefits the company by improving process, reducing cost and eliminating cost.
Improving process:
Each of the four methods concerns about the current process used by the company. Employees review
current processes and find ways how to make the process more efficient. Effects of methods are also
considered. Effects of using one method are cost of producing product, pressure on employee and
quality of the final product.

Sex And The City Chapter 4
As the professor stated, chapter 4 is indeed an interesting chapter. While reading this chapter I related
it to the famous television show Sex and The City. This tv show depicts New York City as the city that
loves sex, fame and the social life. Dating nowadays is not the same, courting is no longer a thing and
one night stands has become even more popular. Both women and men pay more attention to the
status of the person, body figure, where he or she may reside, the fancy clothes and so on rather than
who the person is and getting to know them more. I know many of us, including myself might get side
tracked at become attracted to his or her body or looks rather than the person physically. However, it is
up to us to become focus again a make that decision wether we are 100 percent attracted to the person
not because of the riches and social status that they possess. The preference that stood out to me the
most was the presence for high social status. Money, cars and lavish vacation and living has become

relationships, marriage and worst, children. Many New Yorkers have adapted to the fast pace life of
the 9 to 5 job, come home and do it all over again. Therefore many people people to do not have the

Aesthetic Analysis
Aesthetics is the branch of philosophy that asks questions about the nature of art and beauty. The
Classical definition of art is the good, the true, the beautiful. Art equals something that is beautiful
then it is true and leads the person experiencing it, to the good. While this may be the classical
definition of art it is not quite accurate. To think that something is true and good just because it is
beautiful is not right. There are three critiques of this definition which define art in a different light.
Leo Tolstoy defines one as romantic art; The essence of a work of art is the emotion it causes to an
audience. It makes everyone feel as one because they are all feeling the same emotion. Malcolm
Bradbury defines modern art as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You have to listen to the meaning behind the note. As with John Coltrane s A Love Supreme he wrote
this song with four parts to it describing a religious experience he went through fighting drug

Actual Mechanism of Heat Loss during Exercise
Actual Mechanism of Heat Loss during Exercise
High heat and humidity reduce body s ability to lose heat by radiation or convection and evaporation.
While exercising, the heat production within muscle and it is transfer from the core to the skin. Under
appropriate environmental conditions, excess body heat dissipates to the environment which regulates
the core temperature within a narrow range. During exercise in the heat, the heat loss mechanisms
compete with the active muscles for more of the limited blood volume. Thus, neither area is
adequately supplied under extreme conditions.
Heat conduction is when the heat transferred from one material to another through direct molecular
contact. Heat generated deep in the body can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, exercise in heat can hasten glycogen depletion and increase muscle lactate.
Actual Mechanism of Heat Gain during Shivering
Shivering is a rapid, involuntary cycle of contraction and relaxation of skeletal muscles which can
cause a four to fivefold increase in the body s resting rate of energy production. During shivering the
muscles are cool and this causes it became weaker. The nervous system responds to muscle fiber
recruitment patterns. Both muscle shortening velocity and power decrease significantly when
temperature is lowered.
Sweating Mechanism and the Factors that Influence Sweating Rate.
Sweating increases during exercise in the heat, and this can quickly lead to dehydration and excessive
electrolyte loss. To compensate, the release of aldosterone and ADH increases, causing sodium and
water retention, which can expand the plasma volume. Increased dependence on evaporation means an
increased demand for sweating. The sweat glands are controlled by stimulation of the hypothalamus.
Elevated blood temperature causes the hypothalamus to transmit impulses through the sympathetic
nerve fibers to the millions of sweat glands distributed over the body s surface.
Sweat is formed by the secretory portion of the sweat gland. As the filtrate sweat passes through the
duct of the gland, sodium and chloride are gradually reabsorbed back into the surrounding tissues and
then into the blood. When

Research Assistant Application Essay
I am writing to outline my knowledge and experience, that I believe make me the ideal candidate for
the role of Research Assistant in the evaluation of the swim with humpback whale trial. I am truly
passionate about wildlife science and ensuring the health of the marine ecosystem. I find this research
project particularly exciting, as I have always had an interest in human wildlife interactions, and as a

travelling in the Philippines, I have noticed wildlife tours, such as swimming with whale sharks are

The worker could learn a new skill and get promoted, but will that necessarily change his or her
imprisonment of the wage labor system?
Karl Marx wrote about labor divisions and used the example of the assembly line workers at a car
manufacturing company. The worker s job was to continually attach one bolt without ever having the
satisfaction of completing a whole automobile. This worker has no creative power to freely build a
transmission in the morning and then the freedom of creating a new braking system in the afternoon.
For as soon as the distribution of labor comes into being, each man has a particular exclusive sphere of
activity, Lander Shafer 2 which is forced upon him and from which he can not escape (Marx 160). The
identical theorem exists in the offices of Wall Street for the scriveners who copy legal documents.
Bartleby, Turkey and Nippers execute the same automatic task throughout the day. The only relief is a
possible proofreading of the documents for any errors. The Lawyer is the creative expert and the task
of the scriveners is to copy what another has created with no input or skills of their own. Bartleby s
actions can be supported by Marx: The alienation of the worker in his product means not only that his
labour becomes an object, an external existence, but that

For the most part, I enjoyed Nineteen Minutes. It was an extremely emotional novel about a teen boy
that killed ten people in his high school. Describing the school shooting was not the book s main idea,
the real purpose was to explain the events leading up to and the events after the shooting. In my
opinion, Jodi Picoult started the book out beautifully when she described how long the school
shooting was by relating it to basic everyday things that most people could relate to.
Most of Nineteen Minutes took place after the shooting, when the community was trying to recover
and rebuild trust after the horrific deed of Peter Houghton. Honestly, at first I was shocked because I

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Homeschooling
Introduction
Education plays significant role in the life of everyone. It is obvious that good education will influence
the future and strong foundation is the first step in building it. Iimmediately after birth, child begins to
receive knowledge, an education from his family, from his home, because home considers as the
foundation of all human institutions. After that it comes to make a choice whether to send him to study
to the ordinary school or not to send. Some parents try to homeschool their child due to the different
reasons, however others against of homeschooling because of its disadvantages. Therefore we will

Well Rested children. Researchers are show that sleep is crucial to the physical and emotional well
being of children especially during studying. The early morning classes might be devastating to many
kids, particularly those individuals who are not morning people.
8. No Busywork. For homeschooled children no need to wait others or repeat until other classmates
will understand the material, they can save their time and complete in a few hours what usually takes
usual classroom a week or sometimes more to cover.
Even homeschooling has that kind of positive effects; it also has disadvantages makes some parents
worry about them. For example:
1. Homeschooling considers as a hard work for the parents, planning the course of instruction, making
own schedule is not easy. It takes time that parent may be sometimes needs to use for another

processes will be impossible especially for those families who have many children.
2. Homeschooling might be one of the reasons for financial stress. When all responsibility for buying

Disadvantages Of Aid
AID IMPACT: WHY CLEAR CONCLUSIONS CANNOT BE MADE
Aid, as a concept of international development, has been at the centre of countless debates and has
been studied through sizeable number of research over the past several decades; yet, there is no
consensus among development sector experts on whether it works or not.
Paul Mosley (1986) argues that it is difficult to measure the actual impact of Aid because of the micro
macro paradox which makes it almost impossible to add up the effects of individual Aid projects,
given that Foreign Aid is fungible. Consequently, it can be diverted by recipient governments to less

According to the Development Assistance Committee of the OECD, most Foreign Aid is designed to
meet one or more of four broad economic and development objectives, which are:
To encourage economic growth through building infrastructure, supporting productive sectors such as
agricultural production, or innovative ideas and technologies;

According to Pekka Hirvonen (2005), developed nations have not been quite truthful about the volume
of Aid or assistance given to developing nations. The author argues that Aid (which is measured as a
proportion of the gross national income of developed nations) lags far behind the 0.7 percent target the
United Nations set more than 35 years ago (ibid). In addition to this, the Aid given is mostly: designed
to serve the strategic and economic interests of the donor countries; or designed to benefit powerful
domestic interest groups; or too little Aid reaches countries that most desperately need it; or is wasted

However, before strategy came into being, competition has already existed for a long time. With the
evolution of life, the first single celled organisms served as nutrition for more complex organisms,
whose development over time, lead to a dense network of competitive interactions. Over millions of
years, no use of strategies was required, as it was only a matter of natural selection and survival of the
fittest (Darwin 1859).
Strategic behavior implies the ability of logical reasoning in connection to the ability to forecast
possible reactions to undertake relevant actions. The first strategy implemented by human beings was
probably the conquest of antagonistic hunting territory. However, as mentioned above, strategic
concepts, which include all the elements that make up a strategy according to its definition, were first
developed in connection with military operations. The challenges which needed to be mastered were:
the uncertainty about the ability and the intention of the enemy, irreversible commitment of limited
resources, uncertainty about the control of the situation and the fundamental nature of the mutual
perception between the candidates. Given such conditions, it is of course very difficult to formulate an
effective strategy. This fact was already illustrated around the year 500 BC when the Chinese general,
military strategist and philosopher Sun Tzu said: Everyone can recognize the tactics

Good Online Guitar Lessons For My Nephew
It was few months ago that I was searching for some good online guitar lessons for my nephew. I
think I must have scanned all possible avenues on the internet for that. If some had good textual
content, they didn t have video and audio, and if they had good video the tutor wouldn t be good and
so on. I thought that since internet is such a massive resource, I would definitely find some good
online guitar lessons for free for him. But to my disappointment I didn t find what I was looking for.
Each one had one or the other draw back. When you are looking forward to learning any thing, the
most important aspect that you should look for is a good instructor or an authentic guidance and the
next thing that you should consider is how well the course is structured or arranged, this is also very
important. So, unless the arrangement of the course is logical and in the right order, you will end up
learning it half baked or incomplete. Since my nephew was on a tight budget, he was looking for
something that was free, but I discovered it the hard way that nothing in this world is free and if at all
someone is offering anything for free, you have to compromise on the quality. So I decided to check
out the paid guitar lessons one by one. Since almost all of the courses offered free lessons for
sampling it was easy for me to choose the best amongst them. But the problem with most of the
courses was, they would only send each lesson one by one each day for us to check out, which

Religious Beliefs, Values, And Norms Of A Culture Essay
Religion is the belief of a higher being that holds all power. It is what shapes the traditions, values,
and norms of a culture. In early American History religion was the celebration of a God or Gods that
represented the accomplishments of one s own. The importance of religion was the simple fact that
people represented the type of life they lived based off their religious beliefs. People knew very well
what others stood for but they did not accept it or tolerate it. I feel as though the old world had it
worse than what we have now. The old world took matters into their own hands and did not allow
those of other groups to continue their ways of worship. People did not accept different cultures into
their villages or places of praises. The invitation was declined before even presented, they most
definitely killed others faster than standing around telling people what they did wrong by entrusting in
those about their religious faith! Back in early American history there was a lot of issues about
religious freedom. Without religion it is impossible for a nation to be shaped because then there would
be no political views. If that s true Donald Trump might have not been president; I bet you we would
all be fine with that too. Society today I would have to say is less focused on religion and more
directed to discrimination. Religion played a big important significant factor in early American history
especially when it came to other invaders looking to make a way out of their

The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The treaty that ended the...
The Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, which came into effect on 2 February 1848, ended the Mexican
American war and formally resolved territorial disputes resulting from that conflict. The treaty
required the U.S. government to pay the Mexican government $15 million dollars, this in return for an
expanse of territory that later became the states of Arizona, New Mexico, and parts of Utah, Nevada,
and Colorado. I intend to argue that the treaty benefitted the people who inhabited, and later came to
inhabit, that territory. I also propose that, as a result of the transfer of territory from a dictatorial
regime to one that was based on democratic principles, both Mexico and the United States ultimately
benefitted in several ways.
The Treaty of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was, at the time, one of the most populous cities in Northern Mexico, having a population of of
nearly fifteen thousand inhabitants. (The Mexican War 33). About the same time, Taylor and his army
won the battle of Buena Vista. The terrain in northern Mexico is difficult, and water scarce. Perhaps
this is why, after a number of arduous campaigns in the north, Taylor seemed to lose interest in
fighting. Instead of pressing south towards the Mexican capital, he was content to remain in the north.
Because of his lack of fighting spirit, Pres. James Polk lost faith in him as a leader. Instead, he turned
to General Winfield Scott, who lost no time in making for the Mexican capital. The American army
and generals proved significantly superior to the Mexican forces and in less than a year and a half the
American army had captured Mexico City and the Mexican Republic had to sue for an unfavorable
peace. (The Mexican American War).
The treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo contained twenty articles. The most important of these were the
payment of $15 million already mentioned, and the transfer of territory. The U.S. pledged to withdraw
its troops from the Mexican capital, cease its blockading of Mexican ports, and to withdraw all of its
forces from Mexico within three months of the signing of the treaty.
In the territories ceded to the United States, the Mexicans there resident were allowed to

History is vital because it passes down information and wisdom. For this reason, there are museums
and monuments that are taken care of to keep its appearance and significance alive as well as realistic.
Iolani Palace, once home to the late Queen Lili uokalani, is no exception. Iolani Palace is a historic
landmark that plays a vital key in Hawaiian history and culture. Iolani Palace was built to serve as a
monarchial seat and residence for the king or queen at the time and now functions as a museum. It is
important for people to be aware of the changes that happened at Iolani Palace because it plays a
significant role in Hawaiian history. The significance of Iolani Palace will always be represented in its
history and foundation of Hawai i; therefore, it should continue to receive funds to educate people
from around the world. Iolani Palace was built by King Kalākaua to replace a smaller royal building
and in turn it responded to intensifying European and American colonizing activities (Kamehiro 4).
King Kalākaua wanted a palace that would replicate those he saw when he toured the world. The
palace was the first building to have electricity, the telephone and indoor plumbing, which was four
years before the White House received these accommodations. Along with these special
accommodations that the palace was able to have, it was also home to many important events

The Application of Psychodynamic Theory Through Dream...
INTRODUCTION Psychodynamic Theory is based on the premise that human behaviour and
relationships are shaped by conscious and unconscious influences and include factors such as internal
processes, personality, motivation and drives, and the importance of childhood experiences. The essay
will discuss and demonstrate the application of dream analysis as a counselling approach and the
personal and technical challenges associated with using the psychoanalytic technique of ‘free
association’. This will be done by analysing my own personal dream from a psychoanalytical
perspective I will identify and describe two of the techniques used in psychoanalytical therapy: 1.

In adults, however, the situation is more complicated as the dreams of adults have been subjected to
distortion, with the dream s so called manifest content ,including the remnants of the previous days
events or thoughts being a heavily disguised derivative of the latent content, dream thoughts present in
the unconscious, consisting of hidden, symbolic and unconscious motives, wishes and fears. The
manifest content of a dream is the actual content of the dream, what actually happened during the
dream. In contrast, the latent content of the dream is the symbolic meaning of the content of the
dream. In order for a counsellor to get to the latent content, the client discusses the dream s manifest
content and is encouraged to free associate about the dream. It then becomes the counsellor’s task
to decipher the dream s latent content through both defense mechanisms that may be present in the
telling of the dream and in the free association about it. There is natural censorship within dreams that
will present when a client talks about the dream, and reservations or repressions that the client
consciously adds into the dream discussion. Each of the repressions and censors must be overcome,
and the counsellor will have to look deep into the content of the discussion to get to the bottom of it.

Argumentative Essay On Designer Babies
Imagine a world where having a baby was like looking through a menu at some fancy restaurant.
Imagine being able to choose how a baby will look and act. As mind boggling as it sounds, scientists
and researchers came across an unbelievable discovery: it is possible to design and edit a baby
however a person may like. Hanson asserts that personality, gender, appearance, intelligence, hair
color, and height can be changed using technology that was originally used for animals (Hanson).
These babies are called designer babies. Phillip Ball, a science writer, claims that it is possible to
change the genetic makeup of an unborn baby using bio technology. However, these changes can have
more negative effects than positive. Although most countries have not legislated the use of genetic
modification, studies have been done on human embryos in China (Ball).
According to The Ethics of Designer Babies article, a process called in vito fertilization must be done
before any genetic changes can be made. In this process, the mother s mature eggs are retrieved from
the ovaries and taken to a lab to be combined with sperm outside of the body. They are fertilized in a
petri dish. This is the reason why they are sometimes referred to as test tube babies. After fertilization,
the embryo is sent back into the mother s uterus and a third parent comes into play. The third parent,
or the donor, has his or her mitochondrial DNA inserted into the embryo, a process known as
cytoplasmic transfer.

Jacqueline Kennedy s Influence On Fashion
Jacqueline Kennedy s style certainly left an impact on fashion from day one in the White House. Even
before her entrance, her clothing style was already being scrutinized (Adler 74). Luckily, she never
cared about what others thought about her appearance. Mrs. Kennedy never intended to influence
fashion as much as she did (Adler 92). After all, her tastes were far beyond the bounds of the
continent. Jacqueline Kennedy s style was described to be French inspired (Flaherty 38). On
inauguration day, she wore a beige wool coat with a sable collar and matching sable muff designed by
American designer Oleg Cassini (Adler 84). Both of their names instantly became a staple in the

Juvenile And Juvenile Justice System
The juvenile justice system and criminal justice system also known as the adult justice system is two
different systems. The juvenile justice system is children who are under the age of 18 years old. After
the age of 18, it is considered to be an adult it will enter through the adult justice system. There ate
states that allows youth to stay in the juvenile justice system from age 18 until 21. The main
differences between the juvenile justice system and criminal justice system is rehabilitation and

The parole consist of monitoring the children s behavior and actions he or she does. Another hand,
when a adult is being monitor is to focus on they behavior so it will not lead to re incarceration. The
main focus for adult criminals is to not re offend again during the present or future. There is more
chance that adults will re offend again after they are released from prison. My opinion, adults who
have been charged for sexual harassment are more likely to re offend because of the desire of pressure,
mental ill, and power. There are differences between the juvenile and adult justice system that have to
do in the criminal justice. One differences is that juveniles are prosecute to delinquent acts, but it can
be tried to the adult system. The second differences is juveniles does not have the right to a public trial
by jury. If juvenile is charged for a crime he or she committed the case involves a judge hearing
evidence and ruling whether is a big issue or small. The third differences is the adult justice system
focus more on punishing and for juvenile justice system is to rehabilitate. the fourth differences is
adults are found guilty of a crime they committed and court try to find the best punishment, but the
court tries to impose a penalty so the individual to re offend in the future. Some similarities between

Reflection On Cultural Communication
During the implementation of the research plan, I did have a few issues and changes I had to adjust
with a few methods that I had previously stated. The one idea I completely removed from my plan was
the idea of traveling to Houston with Bhavik to visit with him and his family members due to the busy
holiday schedule, nothing could be worked out. On the plus side, using social media he was able to
send me videos and snapchats of Hindu decorations, food and videos of him spending time with his
family and although the clips were short it gave a good sense of how the culture was still instilled in
their family even though they now reside in the United States. As I was getting started off on the
project and my research the conversation seemed to be easier said than done. Although, I was very
fortunate enough to know someone of another culture beforehand for the project ultimately it created a
challenging task during the discussions making it slightly harder to stay on topic. After the first few
meetings, we planned to get together and focus on correcting the issue of staying on topic and it
seemed to decrease after time and the flow of cultural communication was more achievable and easier
to stay on the subject.
Overall, I believe a majority of my plan was a success, I personally feel both of us were very open to
the topic and I was intrigued at the subjects we discussed including his background and the way in
which he was brought up in Trinidad and the United States. Then to go on to become not only a high
school biology and anatomy teacher but, a small business owner as well as a private jeweler, his story
in a way really adds up to be the ideal of the American dream. Discussing his cultural beliefs in
Hinduism and family values, one part of my plan that I also altered was not only taking detailed notes,
but I was also able to have my research and sources done prior to easily compare the similarities and
differences with how he viewed certain aspects in Hinduism compared to my sources. Comparing the
research to our conversations I was very surprised at the cultural beliefs as well as the cultural family
values were alike each other and how he was still very educated about his culture even though having

Similarities Between La Belle Dame Sans Merci And Annabel Lee
Love in Poe s Annabel Lee and Keats s La Belle Dame sans Merci
Poe s Annabel Lee and Keats s La Belle Dame sans Merci depict the destructive effects that women
exercise upon men. In both poems, women, by death and deception, harm their adoring lovers. In
Annabel Lee, Annabel dies and leaves the speaker in isolation; in La Belle Dame Sans Merci, the
fairy, La Belle Dame, captures the speaker s heart, and then deserts him. The common theme of both
poems, that love generates harmful effects, is a reflection of both poets upsetting and harmful
childhood experiences.

sexual metaphor (the speaker being the steed.) The repetition of wild eyes is a sexual euphemism,
furthering the sexual nature of love expressed within the poem. Even the knight s last memory of the
fairy is of a sexual nature; the knight receives kisses four, afterwards the fairy lulls him to sleep. Keats
s love is relatively more tenuous than Poe s, because the fairy s love is unpredictable, and bizarre ( In
language strange she said / I love thee true ). This love is also destructive, as warned by the dead men
in the last stanza with their horrid warning that La Belle Dame/ Thee hath in thrall! Poe and Keats
employ the their speakers painful experiences with love as examples of love s ruinous consequences.
La Belle Dame sans Merci and Annabel Lee develop their characters with attention to details, so that

Archetypes In The Collective Unconscious
Looking at the concept of archetypes in the collective unconscious is helpful in understanding the
history of human beings as well as an individual s personal history. In every being there exists two
psychic systems. The personal unconscious and the collective unconscious. The personal unconscious
is unique to each individual. It consists of a collection of forgotten or repressed experiences and
memories that at one point were present in the conscious thoughts of the individual being. These
repressed experiences are referred to as complexes. A complex is the way one remembers and

The Mono Basin consists of landforms such as the Mono Inyo Craters, Black Point, Negit Island,
Paoha Island, Mono Lake, Devils Punch Bowl, Panum Crater, and some others (Hamburger et al;

The explosions ejected pyroclastic and ground material that created craters. The explosion also created
a pyroclastic flow that traveled six kilometers. After these explosions there were smaller phreatic
explosions that created the Inyo Craters(USGS;2004).
There are three large craters and two of them are lake filled now. The two craters with lakes are the
North and South Craters; which are over one hundred eighty four meters deep. The other crater, which
is at the summit of Deer Mountain is about forty six meters deep. There are nine smaller craters and
five volcanic domes included in the Inyo Crater chain (Molossia;2004). (Picture above compliments

After the explosions that formed the Inyo Craters, eruptions started beneath South Deadman Flow. At
the South Deadman vent, there were two events where ash and pumice fragments were expelled.
Along Deadman Creek there is a pyroclastic flow deposit of about ten meters thick; this was formed
by the explosion after the Inyo episode. Before long there was some volcanic activity at the Obsidian

Why I Became An Ame Ministry
After graduation, I searched for jobs and most of the time I froze up in the interviews. The only
interview I nailed was an interview for teaching position for Duval County School Board. Therefore, I
became a part of the teaching profession in the fall of 1998 teaching Biology, Algebra I, Physical
Science, and Chemistry in different years up until 2001. Additional, I was a science adjunct professor
for two years at Florida Community College in Jacksonville. I started the five year process of
becoming an AME ministry with my initial sermon in December of 1998 at Wayman Chapel AME
Church and my pastor was Rev. Mark L. Griffin. The church voted for me to be licensed in the
quarterly conference in January 1999. I was examined by Presiding Elder DeSue in January 1999,
examined by the District Conference in February 1999, and examined by the East Florida Conference
of the Eleventh Episcopal District of the AME Church Board of Examiners in April 1999.
Instructors advised me to attend seminary while I was attending the Board of Examiners. They
explained I would have a better understanding of scripture, God, myself, and my calling. Finally, in
October of 1999, I was admitted on trial in the Annual Conference of the East Florida Conference of
the AME Church. I entered Candler School of Theology in the fall of 2001. September 11 was soon to

Human Agency Is Nonexistent Throughout The Books

that way. The gods constantly intervene and change the fates of certain warriors and events as they

he is about to die by the hands of Menelaus, thus changing Paris fate. However, there are parts in the

not control the situation, as he did not intend for a god to attack him. As Patroclus is stunned in battle,

trying to reach out to escape or find help.
Human actions are intentional and have reasons to why they have been performed. The passage shows

General Electric s Proposed Acquisition of Honeywell
General Electric s Proposed Acquisition of Honeywell Synopsis and Objective: October 19, 2000
Honeywell s stock was up $10 due to recent merger discussions between Honeywell and United
Technologies Corporation (UTC). For every share of honeywell, UTC would pay 0.74 of its own
stock. In other words, the merge would lead to a dominant supplier company in the aerospace market,
and a strong competitor for GE. This led John F. Jack Welch Jr., GE s chair and CEO, to call Michael
Bonsignore, chair and CEO of Honeywell, to present a bid maintaining a 1:1 share for share exchange
ratio. GE won the bid against UTC and agreed to a price of 1.055 GE shares for every share of
Honeywell s, plus assumed debt. The regulatory filings were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

How would General Electric and Honeywell s stock prices be affected by the investigation? Anytime a
company is investigated by a regulatory commision it is generally a bad thing. The EC s investigation
of the stock prices would likely have an adverse affect on the stock price and stockholder confidence
of the two companies. General Electric investors know that Jack Welch is only on board with the
company until the acquisition with Honeywell is over. This means that General Electric will be soon
losing its cash cow of a ceo and if the deal doesn t go through then Welch will be going out on a bad
note. This skepticism of whether or not the regulatory commision will accept the merger would only
add to the question of General Electric moving forward positively in the future. Additionally,
Honeywell may choose to go with UTC if the merger with General Electric falls through. If
Honeywell does in fact go with UTC then the market position of General Electric will be
compromised and their stock will once again fall. For the Honeywell company the merger question
being questioned by a regulatory commision would likely lower their stock value as well. Investors in
Honeywell may fear that the deal will fall through and Honeywell will have wasted its resources.

Examples Of The Valley Of Ashes In The Great Gatsby
The valley of ashes also represents the American dream. In the novel, Fitzgerald vividly describes the
valley of ashes as a farm, where ashes grow like wheat into ridges and hills and grotesque gardens
(Fitzgerald 24). The use of the polysyndeton infers that the amount of ashes is endless. The ash grey
men in the valley of ashes are experiencing a tremendous agony as they move dimly and already
[crumble] through the powdery air (Fitzgerald 24). Everyone in the valley of ashes is striving for
greater; however, greater is never possible. The valley of ashes arguably remind [one]of the refuse of
modern society of the human variety, un blessed (Hauhart 201). In both the novel and the film, people
who have the American dream, who live in

Advantages Of Diversity-Conscious Leadership
Diversity Conscious Leadership
(APA Citation)
The United States is a diverse nation with citizens originating from every other nation on Earth.
Despite this diversity, Americans have only recently begun to identify diversity as a integral part of the
workplace; and put into practice programs to diversify, and therefore, maximize efficiency and
production. However, simply diversifying the workplace, or any other place for that matter, will not
automatically increase the efficiency of workers. It requires a diversity conscious leader who has been
trained and experienced in such matters to make diversity an asset in the workplace. Diversity
leadership has been defined as ways in which people and groups relate to one another and how
management [leadership] decisions are made in the midst of the differences, similarities, and tensions
among groups. (Lim, Cho, Curry, 2008) And in order to accomplish this, a good leader must know the
difference between the assimilation and inclusion. Assimilation takes a diverse group and
homogenizes them, while inclusion maintains the individual differences between people and
capitalizes on those differences for the benefit of all. For instance, instilling a goal oriented sense of
identity allows for each individual to maintain their uniqueness, while coming together to accomplish
the goal. It is the goal that each individual concentrates on, not the differences between the members
of the group. Also, a good leader will facilitate good

  • 2. Macc Da Tho In John Gantz s Things Fall Apart Macc Da Tho is the enchanting king of Lagin and has this magical hound that was the protector of Lagin and his fame grew so large that everyone in the different lands would love to have. This prestige s hound goes by the name of Ailbhe and the men of Ulster and Connacht both want Ailbhe for themselves. Both participants decide to show up on the same day unknowingly to Macc Da, but little did they know that Macc actually knew they were both coming. Since Macc Da is a trickster, when he heard a knock on the door he opened it and answered, We were not expecting you, warriors! Nevertheless, I welcome you! Come into the courtyard! (Gantz 182) Macc Da Tho knew what he was doing at this point, therefore he had the warriors from both Ulster and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The rule was that the best warrior was the one who would be able to cut the pig and feed the best portions of the meat to his warriors and leave the crappy pieces of meat to his opponents. Conall did just that and cut the best portions of the pig for himself and his other Ulster warriors. While giving Cet and the Connacht warriors such a small portion and the worst parts of the pig basically leaving just the scraps, that a battle breaks out between them. Although the battle broke out Macc Da Tho knew that this was going to unfold and hoping that it would, so he let it go on for a little bit. When the battle started moving out of the dining hall and into the courtyard Macc decided that he should become involved. Mac finally appeared and let the hound loose, At last, Macc Da Tho came out with the dog in hand and unleashed it to see which side it would choose. (Gantz 187) The hound then chose the side of Ulaid and fought with Conall against Cet of Connacht. As the battle went on Ailill and Medb s charioteer named Fer Loga killed the dog of Macc Da Tho and hid along in tall grass while the rest of his army fled. • 3. Beowulf Vs Grendel This story is about a guy named Beowulf who lived in a far away country who came to Hrothgar s kingdom to save his kingdom from a monster. The monsters name is Grendel and Grendel has come to Higlac, which is the name of Hrothgar s mead, and murdered multiple people. Between the movie and the text, there are multiple differences. One major difference between the movie and the text is the characters. In the movie the characters are shown completely different than they are in text. For example, in the text Grendel could not speak and was a wolf like monster, but in the movie he was able to speak and did not look anything wolf like instead he looked more human like. Another example is Grendel s mother, in the text Grendel s mother looked very similar to him including her she wolf looks, but instead in the movie she looked like Jennifer Lopez. The text states, but her supper assured, sheltered in her dripping claws (line 412 413) . ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the text, Then he saw, hanging on the wall, a heavy sword, hammered by giants, strong and blessed with their magic, the best of all weapons but so massive that no ordinary man could lift its carved and decorated length. He drew it from its scabbard, broke the chain on its hilt, and then, savage, now angry and desperate, lifted it high over his head and struck with all the strength he had left, caught her in the neck and cut it through, broke bones and all. • 4. Romeo Dallaire, “Cri de coeur” Essay Romeo Dallaire, Cri de coeur , AArgument of Truths Dallaire did exceptional when it comes to the naming of his essay, by not only simplifying the subject but maintaining the true meaning. Cri de coeur, also known as A cry from the heart , is not only heartbreaking but truthfully eye opening. Every event recounted is straight from Dallaire s point of view, which could have made his rhetorical appeals intertwine. It is clear from reading that one appeal stood above the rest while reading, which is pathos. • 5. The Assessment Of Water Quality And Stream Health Essay cology Lab Four: The Assessment of Water Quality and Stream Health in Local (Lowell MA) Freshwater Systems via the Analysis of Biotic and Abiotic Indicators Abstract: Overall the objective of this lab exercise was to introduce students to watershed ecology and the ecological factors that affect water quality. Students used biotic (macroinvertebrates ) and abiotic indicators to asses the quality of water in a freshwater body. Specifically students collected water chemistry data (hardness, nitrate/phosphate concentrations, dissolved O2 and pH) to asses the quality of water. Additionally macroinvertebrates from the benthic environment of a respective field site were collected, analyzed as well as catalogued. Collectively the results indicated that a greater species diversity was indicative of greater water quality(Lenat). Likewise within a freshwater ecosystems a negative correlation was found to exist between fluctuating abiotic factors, species diversity and water quality. It can be concluded that amongst the three field sites the ranking of water quality from highest to lowest is as follows; Great Brook Farm, Russell Mill pond, Lawrence Street Stream. Introduction: There are two categories for bodies of freshwater, these are lentic and lotic. A lentic body of water in stationary such as a lake or pond and a lotic body of water is flowing such as a river or stream. One of the greatest innovations was the beginning of modern computing. During World War 2 encryption was each army s main way of keeping war plans secure. One of the most famous encrypting machines was named the Enigma. The Enigma was a machine that took input from one side; encrypts it and sends the message to another operator who then translates it using a code book (Gladwin). Using this machine, the German s kept nearly all the information secure from other countries. To break these encryptions, the British secret service along with many other countries started to build machines that could defeat the Enigmas encryption (Gladwin). Soon after the Germans ... In the late 1930 s in a remote area outside London, lived a mansion (Gladwin). This mansion was soon to be converted into a super secret compound called Bletchley Park. The park was surrounded by small cottages in which students from the local colleges were recruited from to live there (Gladwin). Their task was to decipher all types of encoded messages in secrecy away from the public eye. Soon to be there was the infamous Alan Turing. Although it was mainly a code breaking facility, there was not a more daunting task to decode messages coming from the infamous German machine Enigma. Enigma was an encrypting type righter which used rotors which created nearly impossible trillion different results each time it sent out a message (Gladwin). It was nearly impossible to decipher by just using paper. Turing had an idea of creating a large machine in which could emulate nearly thirty six Enigmas at any time while running (Gladwin). The machine Turing had created was known as a bombe. Soon after they would use these bombes to crack the Enigma codes being sent from the Germans (Gladwin). Although Bletchley Park was one of the main places, in an interview with Jean Valentine, it was found that by the end of the war there was at least five other places where bombes were stationed at (Lewis). This machine was one of the first successful models of its kind. Actual Mechanism of Heat Gain during Shivering Shivering is a rapid, involuntary cycle of contraction and relaxation of skeletal muscles which can cause a four to fivefold increase in the body s resting rate of energy production. During shivering the muscles are cool and this causes it became weaker. The nervous system responds to muscle fiber recruitment patterns. Both muscle shortening velocity and power decrease significantly when temperature is lowered. Sweating Mechanism and the Factors that Influence Sweating Rate. Sweating increases during exercise in the heat, and this can quickly lead to dehydration and excessive electrolyte loss. To compensate, the release of aldosterone and ADH increases, causing sodium and water retention, which can expand the plasma volume. Increased dependence on evaporation means an increased demand for sweating. The sweat glands are controlled by stimulation of the hypothalamus. Elevated blood temperature causes the hypothalamus to transmit impulses through the sympathetic nerve fibers to the millions of sweat glands distributed over the body s surface. Paul Mosley (1986) argues that it is difficult to measure the actual impact of Aid because of the micro macro paradox which makes it almost impossible to add up the effects of individual Aid projects, given that Foreign Aid is fungible. Consequently, it can be diverted by recipient governments to less productive consumption uses (Boone, 1996). In early American History religion was the celebration of a God or Gods that represented the accomplishments of one s own. The importance of religion was the simple fact that people represented the type of life they lived based off their religious beliefs. People knew very well what others stood for but they did not accept it or tolerate it. I feel as though the old world had it worse than what we have now. INTRODUCTION Psychodynamic Theory is based on the premise that human behaviour and relationships are shaped by conscious and unconscious influences and include factors such as internal processes, personality, motivation and drives, and the importance of childhood experiences. The essay will discuss and demonstrate the application of dream analysis as a counselling approach and the personal and technical challenges associated with using the psychoanalytic technique of ‘free association’. In adults, however, the situation is more complicated as the dreams of adults have been subjected to distortion, with the dream s so called manifest content ,including the remnants of the previous days events or thoughts being a heavily disguised derivative of the latent content, dream thoughts present in the unconscious, consisting of hidden, symbolic and unconscious motives, wishes and fears. The manifest content of a dream is the actual content of the dream, what actually happened during the dream. In contrast, the latent content of the dream is the symbolic meaning of the content of the dream. In order for a counsellor to get to the latent content, the client discusses the dream s manifest content and is encouraged to free associate about the dream. It then becomes the counsellor’s task to decipher the dream s latent content through both defense mechanisms that may be present in the telling of the dream and in the free association about it. There is natural censorship within dreams that will present when a client talks about the dream, and reservations or repressions that the client consciously adds into the dream discussion. • 28. Argumentative Essay On Designer Babies Imagine a world where having a baby was like looking through a menu at some fancy restaurant. Imagine being able to choose how a baby will look and act. As mind boggling as it sounds, scientists and researchers came across an unbelievable discovery: it is possible to design and edit a baby however a person may like. Hanson asserts that personality, gender, appearance, intelligence, hair color, and height can be changed using technology that was originally used for animals (Hanson). These babies are called designer babies. Phillip Ball, a science writer, claims that it is possible to change the genetic makeup of an unborn baby using bio technology. However, these changes can have more negative effects than positive. Although most countries have not legislated the use of genetic modification, studies have been done on human embryos in China (Ball). According to The Ethics of Designer Babies article, a process called in vito fertilization must be done before any genetic changes can be made. In this process, the mother s mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and taken to a lab to be combined with sperm outside of the body. They are fertilized in a petri dish. This is the reason why they are sometimes referred to as test tube babies. After fertilization, the embryo is sent back into the mother s uterus and a third parent comes into play. The third parent, or the donor, has his or her mitochondrial DNA inserted into the embryo, a process known as cytoplasmic transfer. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The one idea I completely removed from my plan was the idea of traveling to Houston with Bhavik to visit with him and his family members due to the busy holiday schedule, nothing could be worked out. On the plus side, using social media he was able to send me videos and snapchats of Hindu decorations, food and videos of him spending time with his family and although the clips were short it gave a good sense of how the culture was still instilled in their family even though they now reside in the United States. As I was getting started off on the project and my research the conversation seemed to be easier said than done. Although, I was very fortunate enough to know someone of another culture beforehand for the project ultimately it created a challenging task during the discussions making it slightly harder to stay on topic. After the first few meetings, we planned to get together and focus on correcting the issue of staying on topic and it seemed to decrease after time and the flow of cultural communication was more achievable and easier to stay on the subject. Overall, I believe a majority of my plan was a success, I personally feel both of us were very open to the topic and I was intrigued at the subjects we discussed including his background and the way in which he was brought up in Trinidad and the United States. Despite this diversity, Americans have only recently begun to identify diversity as a integral part of the workplace; and put into practice programs to diversify, and therefore, maximize efficiency and production. However, simply diversifying the workplace, or any other place for that matter, will not automatically increase the efficiency of workers. It requires a diversity conscious leader who has been trained and experienced in such matters to make diversity an asset in the workplace. Diversity leadership has been defined as ways in which people and groups relate to one another and how management [leadership] decisions are made in the midst of the differences, similarities, and tensions among groups. (Lim, Cho, Curry, 2008) And in order to accomplish this, a good leader must know the difference between the assimilation and inclusion. Assimilation takes a diverse group and homogenizes them, while inclusion maintains the individual differences between people and capitalizes on those differences for the benefit of all.
